A. J.Staff were amazing - especially the reception staff who shuffled bookings around several times so that I could extend my stay without moving rooms. - definitely 5 stars for them. Resort Studio room was pleasant for what turned into a long stay but sadly the bed which was a shocker - a hard double with a big body hollow on one side.
K. F.Couldn't have been happier with the service we received from the staff. We called this place home whilst relocating from Vic and finding a place in Darwin. Facilities were clean and all staff were lovely. Good food at the bar and great pool area!
R.We are travelling Australia and this park would have to be our favourite so far. Towing caravans the sites were lush and green (Yes grass!) We spent 14 nights here . Spotless amenities friendly staff. A convenient spot to base urself while exploring Darwin with a lot of shopping close by.

H. P.We've stayed here a few times now. This year we have noticed a big decline. 90% of washing machines don't work. Amenities are dirty with overflowing bins. The grounds aren't as well kept. The pricing system is dependent on how they feel on the day. Ranges from $44 to over $70 a night for a powered site. The park has numerous empty sites and has the whole time we've been here which is unusual for this time of year. We tried to extend and were told they're fully booked. I commented on the amount of empty sites and was told they have over 50 bookings coming in today. We jumped online and there's availability. If you wish to extend they make you pack up and move rather than stay on your current site. They really need better management of the park. It has the potential to be as awesome as it use to be.

The room I'll give 4 stars, it's clean and has a good amount of space, great lighting and everything you could ask for. The spa is smaller then I'd hoped BUT the price is very competitive for a spa room. The atmosphere of the pool bar from our balcony is great we can be a part of it while hanging back in our own space.
The office staff are lovely and down to earth they get five stars.

C. R.Pricing system is as crooked as it gets, people on ajoining sites had prices per night from $35.00 to $75.00. Amenities were serviceable, pools need work and the park is generally in the need of repair. Bistro was okay but a bit pricey.
L. G. B.We stayed here twice. First time in a motel which was very basic but good enough for a one night stop over. The second time we stayed in a cabin which was great! Plenty of room, nice balcony area outside with outdoor setting. Nice pool which we enjoyed multiple times. Laundry with multiple washing machines and dryers available. The resort is so big that we would get our daily exercise by walking each street of the resort. Powered sites with lots of shaded spots. Barbecues available. Gaming room, restaurant and bar with great vibe. Staff were very friendly. Checking in and out was straight forward and easy. About a 20 minute drive to Darwin city.
I would stay here again if in Darwin.
M. A. (. A.We stayed for 4 weeks. Beautiful resort! With 3 pools. Pool in back area was never clean, lot of guests including us complained a lot but they said they cleaned it every day, which was obviously not the case. Amenities were ok. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Massive spots in the back area without concrete. We recommend spots 264 and 265!

D. K.We attended our first wedding at the Free Spirit Resort this weekend and would like to comment on the beautiful event space covered in white from ceiling down. What we loved the most was the great attitude by the staff working on the evening shift. A wedding can be such a long day for events staff who may work from start to finish, setting up the room, then bar service and then packing down but they were genuinely very excited about being at work. The staff last night from the get go, all had bright smiles, highly interactive with guests and also wanting to be there not to mention the great dance moves. See below picture of what we mean.
If you are planning a wedding here in Darwin, be sure to check this venue out as the wedding space is a hidden treasure perfect for a intimate outdoor or indoor ceremony and reception.

T. L.Its a huge resort. The cabins are great. They give you special rate if your stay is longer. They have an outdoor restaurant with great food to enjoy. Have specials on every night of the week. Their pool is just beautiful. On weekends they have entertainment at the resort restaurant.

R.Yes a nice site and amenities but dog friendly not as there is a small area where you can walk the in the park and in the information it tells you dogs are not to be walked around the park except via a designed route which is not on the park map plus dog friendly off leash area is not fenced off

A. G.These guys are fantastic. I travel there with large groups and they are always so accommodating. Cabins always clean and great atmosphere around the main pool and bar. But my favourite would have to be there $2 pancakes. Yummy
J. G.The staff were mostly helpful and friendly. The resort has a fun kids program for the school holidays. The staff that conducted the activities were engaging and fun. Some of the budget accommodation is shabby and not worth the price. The restaurant is too highly priced. In the future I would pack my own food and drinks e.g. a jug of sift drink costs almost $13. Very clean and well maintained.

Food was good (partner liked the steak, I had the pizza....typical for a pub style, so it was okay--would get the calamari next time though lol. Staff super friendly.
D. G. C.Just posting about a single bistro meal. The Pork Hock was unbelievable. Sounds average but the meet was cooked perfectly and encased in crackling. Massive serving size, wouldn't be out of place in many world class restaurants. Just disappointed I didn't get a before photo.

Nevertheless, the cabins by the pool have the best location because the pool is awesome! I'll be back because the food is yummy (what's up with watermelon slapped on top of food here? This happened to me at another Darwin restaurant).
Anyways, I was pretty happy overall.

B.Good resort. Felt comfortable here. Some cabins a little dated. Need major Reno but still comfortable. Management responsive to issues. One adjacent group of "local" holiday makers caused big overnight issue but Resort refunded that night and were very helpful. Can't see anyone being too disappointed staying here.
S.Fantastic establishment!! Awesome facilities, including multiple pools, bistro, bar, pokies, live music by the pool, etc.
Will definitely be staying here again should I return to this area.

P. W. (.Our fabulous experience at FreeSpirit Resort began with the angelic voice on the phone..Angel..yes that's her real name which she and the rest of the Resorts staff live up to. They are professional, courteous, friendly and keep FreeSpirit running to the high standard it is so well known for..the poolside bar and bistro..Elements..is also staffed by friendly, helpful professionals and the meals are absolutely deliciously prepared, cooked and presented by the best chefs in the city. I've spent three nights in this paradise had one night elsewhere and returned for another three nights..sorry to rave on but that's how good it is here...I'll be back.

T. G.Nice pool, drinks reasonably priced. If you purchase from the bar or restaurant you are free to use the pool area. Pool is great for kids with lots of shalllow water and some deep water. Only thing needed would be some shade over the actual pool but there is plenty around the pool. Good venue.

N. F.The staff here are fantastic. Really happy and helpful. The site we had was massive. There is more than enough room for the kids to ride and run around without getting into to much trouble. Now the down side. The main pool was packed with screeming kids from the time it opened to the time their drunk parents left at closing time. We tried to go there for a meal only to have it ruined by the constant screeming. I ordered the 1kg ribs. It sounded great on the menu. After I had finished, there was about 3/4kg of bones. Thank god the kids didn't eat their coleslaw or the extra bowl of chips I ordered for them. I would return to the van park again but definitely not the "restaurant".

Bar service is good at times slow but where isn't? Food was great, reasonable priced, the staff are always lovely and polite. Staying here during a work project, and required a bedroom upgrade, staff were jumping to help out and made the changes seamlessly!
The rooms are simple, clean and well appointed. Perfect for a holiday or work stay!
The menu at the Elements restaurant on-site is well rounded and has lots of options.
The food tastes great, and is good value, the specials even more so!
The staff are all polite and make effort to help and interact with the lodgers, bringing a nice atmosphere.
Peaceful almost always, road noise from Stuart Hwy is non-existent, but oh so convenient for travelling around Darwin. Public transport is literally near the front entry, and frequent.
Overall a great place to be, will be resort of choice for all future stays!

B.We booked our accommodation online for 2adults and 1 child, a resort cabin months ahead of arrival, checked three weeks before arrival was told then our room was unsuitable for 3people, but told we would be upgradeupon arrival.on arrival were told cabin was not suitable no upgrade was available so were down graded, room very shabby, shared kitchen amenities filthy and too hot to bother using had to use shared bathroom amenities no aircondtioning so hot that you needed another shower after having a shower. Next time will check that our booking is suitable for a small family. The restaurant bar and pools were the best thing about our stay.
m. a.Great place to stay. Weekends can get rather busy and hard to find a seat and lengthy line up for a drink at the bar. But I'm assuming from the high number of people who attend for accommodation or just a social visit it must be worth it. Great place to be on quite days more so though.
D. L.Place is good for kids, amenities are clean, but its situated right under the flight path of the airport. No one mentions that as part of a peaceful rest. Expect flights out and in all hours of the night. Close to major road noise as well. Happy hour chicken wing deal is good.

M. P.Good park, we were visiting in the wet season (November) we found staff very accommodating and friendly. Cost was on the pricy side even with a 10% discount at $348 per week, but all in all it is a very good park. It has 3 pools, with the main resort pool having a bar and bistro area.

R. T.All the staff are friendly and knowledgable. The park has accommodation options for everyone and is kid friendly. The park is large enough for families to walk and ride and has numerous amenities blocks. Nothing is a problem and staff will assist with all your queries and/or bookings.

Would like to say what amazing staff you have while booking experenced Becky and another girl have disgusting abuse by a man and women language was disgusting. The girls just kept smiling while trying so hard to fix problem then low and behold another unhappy lady joins in.One lady saying she had years experence in reception and she would have had it fixed instantly well don't know how anyone would employ someone with a mouth like hers. M. M.Great park,but office girl has no idea about allocating sites for big vans,we mentioned we had a 30 ft van but was allocated site 35.very very hard to get into and a lot better sites were available.Very disappointed.

N.Apart from a very complicated check in procedure including a photocopy of you photo ID and paying thru the nose is a great well appointed caravan park but $49 a night to put a swag down on the ground (not a powered site or anything) is a bit steep folks, get real! A great place none the less, nice distance from town (the city) etc, but why so bloody complicated and expensive?

A. D.Located about 20mins drive from Darwin city's center, this is large caravan and cabin park. The caravan sites are large and well maintained and the park has very clean amenities. There are three pools so most sites are close to one of them.

We had the pleasure of staying for 5 years in a row, it was the cleanest & FRIENDLIEST,place to stay in Darwin, free bus service just out the gate, to take you to Palmerston, Darwin or Casurina. Have there own bar , meals avail, snacks avail, 3 pools just a great place to stay while visiting Darwin. Golf course nearby at Palmerston, plenty of Bowls clubs, fishing places not too far away PLENTY TO SEE & DO FROM THIS PARK ..... YOUR SITES ARE VERY BIG . SAFE TRAVELLING NOMADS
