A. Y.Great location in Darwin and friendly staff at the reception desk. Very basic amenities, but extremely functional and perfect for a quick stay.
$20/day parking fee in underground garage - save yourself the money and park on the street.
Our only complaints were the water pressure was bizarre and there was no way to change the source on the TV to HDMI.
M. W.The hotel was good however, had to switch rooms as the TV was broken in the first (however, noting in the new room the TV still displayed poor reception across all channels), the elevator was out of order to the basement meaning bags had to be brought up the car park ramp and no daily cleaning service provided unless requested by reception. Otherwise rooms were comfortable but would probably explore other accomodation options before staying again.
C. L.Lovely big room, I think things are different now after covid. You have to now ask for your room to be serviced and we didn't like self check in.
S. B.I'm here for 2 weeks before I travel back to WA for work and the Rydges will be okay. Centrally located to everything in Darwin city, rooms are a good enough size and everything is clean......no problems at all.

D. M.Helpful staff. Very nice spacious rooms. The two beds were like king size and were extremely comfortable. The temperature control throughout the building was sensibly comfortable night and day. Breakfast on the first floor was first class and included all the options. The counter staff happily assisted us with transport requirements several times and gave great local advice. Cannot recommend this hotel highly enough. Central location. Go for it.
B. J.The hotel seems very tired with most of decor outdated and affected by the sands of time. The staff don't seem to be very motivated and come off a bit cold. Breakfast was OK but very average. The rooms are quite spacious and the beds comfortable. The pool area is small but better than nothing. The building itself is not aesthetic at all but location is great.
M. A.A little tired and actually reminded me of motels in the early 90's when I walked in and realised that a lot of 'fresh air' from a can had been let loose. Bathroom was kind of half now, half then. Ducted air was too cool even for Darwin weather. Bed was comfortable and big room. No free parking which I thought was a bit rich. Staff nice enough. It is very convenient, walking distance to everything we needed in the time we were here
C. J.I loved the place it is a pleasant atmosphere, quiet it's how I liked it. Friendly staff. The women who comes to clean our room were friendly and polite. Downstairs inside the complex are restaurants, hairdressers and other shops. We washed our own clothes. The laundry area is big enough. If 2 or more people washes clothes at the same time there are chairs out in the foyer close to the laundry room to sit and read from your mobile phn. We have 1 bucket per room, when we needed ice cubes we help ourselves. It is also located in the laundry room. It's accessible 24/7 all you needed is a card instead of a key to get in it's also our key to the room. I will stay there again hopefully in 6 months time.
R. W.Nice, polite, efficient staff (even at 5.30am). Large, clean rooms and a shower you could get lost in ! I found the maids always switched the air con to full, so I always switched it off when I came back, otherwise it was too cold to sleep. Good selection of food available. Breakfast starts at 0600am which is good if you're starting early.
For the price would recommend.
R.Centrally located close to shopping centres. The staff are cheerful and very welcoming, nothing is too much trouble. The rooms are comfortable and immaculate. The bathroom is clean, and the water is hot (which is way better than the last hotel we stayed at). The fridge is well stocked although we did not partake.
Everything about this hotel is welcoming and inviting, and makes you feel like a special guest.
I would definitely stay here again.

J. B.Considering the large number of us checking in at the same time from the Ghan, check in was very fast - obviously well organised group. The meals so far have been excellent. The room is super and very clean. We would like to particularly praise our room attendant, Delphine, for the excellent job she did - very thorough, she even found my pen that I had dropped and couldn't find. It must have been under the lounge chair. Great to see such thorough cleaning and attention to detail.

Good value for money. The room we stayed in was amazing. Didn't use the restaurant or cafe this stay but have in the past.

L. P.My husband & I stayed here after our Ghan trip. The staff were excellent, the rooms large and airy. The breakfast was fantastic. It is right in the heart of the city, terrific place. If we ever go to Darwin again that's where we'll be staying
G. g.I'm going for 3 stars based on 7 nights in 3 rooms. Initially was impressed but look a little closer and you see shortcomings. Rooms were good but let down with MDF timberwork (?) and aging fittings. 2 rooms had the chrome worn off of the bathroom taps (209 & 309) and in 722 the toilet seat looked like someone had given it a flogging. We found the aircon a bit too cold (and we came from winter in Victoria), adjusted it and found a blanket.
The staff were friendly and helpful, breakfast was the standard routine serve, nothing special but could start just a little earlier. Convenient location and easy walk to the waterfront where you can eat just about anything.
T. S.Hotel was great. The staff were great. I was concerned there were no Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander employees. I inquired with the manager, he confirmed there were currently no Indigenous employees. He resolved to look at their employment policy to address this issue.
M. I.Very comfortable hotel to stay in. Room are fairly big for the price. Centrally located to the city and Mitchell St.
Only downside was the addition of $19 per night to park the car, which wasn't expected. Plenty of on street parking near by, which is free after 5pm, so no need to pay.
A. C. V. H.A great interesting Hotel where a food hall is surrounded by different levels of floors of a Hotel. Food was great here. All staff were friendly and helpful. I had a good time here. Hopefully, I'll be back there sometime.
K.The rooms are nice and comfortable, central with city views.
I wont stay here again because
1) They take a $100 credit card Pre Auth that takes up to 7 days to clear from my card, I'm on holidays, so not too convenient. The room was already paid for.
2) They tried to charge me for parking, I told her I was only using the room for 5 hours as I flew out that night
3) Not only did they want a card, but a licence too.
Plenty of other better places to stay in Darwin.
B. N.Centrally located Rydges is in the center of the food and drink area that is worth trying. Become a Rydges member for a faster check-in. Room is large with a small view of the sea and the city. Bed is comfortable, room is airconditionned, shower seems renovated, large and clean. Room 707 is large enough for family with kids. Mini bar available. Walking distance to CBD, park, shopping. Pool is small but large enough for kids to have fun. Staff very helpful and friendly. Great online management. Use the website for cheaper rates.
A.Basic hotel, with clean room & decent bathroom.
Noisy air conditioning.
Located in the CBD where pretty much nothing happens other than
Crocosaurus Cove about 5 minute walk away.
Rooms are around a huge atrium which goes down to a restaurant (closed at time of posting, much like all of Darwin in the "Wet Season").
Due to this the corridors are not air conditioned.
Room windows don't open so can get stuffy.
Laundry on Level 3 with washers/dryers at $4 each use.
Hotel restaurant on Level 1 for breakfast, which given the 50% discount to $15 dollar per person is just about worth it, even though cooked breakfast is made fresh.
Head to Salvatores on tbe corner for a better experience, and it's cheaper.
A shortish walk down to the Darwin Waterfront Precinct through The Mall Shopping to a more upmarket area of hotels and restaurants.
T. M.In the centre of Darwin and within walking distance of everything. Room was very quiet and conducive to a great sleep. Rooms clean and well set out. We were happy with the service from staff of all levels. We would love to come back and can highly recommend the Darwin Central Hotel.

Valet service is $20 a day. Room great size. We had the queen twin room. Top floor. Housekeeping amazing. Staff every friendly. Also forgot the mall is directly across the road. Mcdonalds, nandos are below hotel as well.

B. M.I’ve stayed here many times over the years. Great central location and large clean rooms. Price is not bad but the $20 charge to park your car makes it less appealing. Other hotels offer same but include parking.
T. M.My husband and I had a great holiday and we were more than pleased with the Darwin Central Hotel. Star hotel at a very reasonable rate. Very convenient location to the conference centre daily walk is most pleasant in October. We can get food easily and Coles was just across the road.

Worth noting that the carpets are extremely slippery and I would recommend wearing socks with traction pads for safety at all times when walking around your room. I still have a severe carpet burn on my knee from slipping over

The bathroom was okay, only the view of a corrugated iron roof, which covered half the window, was ugly. The breakfast was good and left nothing to be desired. Schönes Hotel, sehr zentrumsnah gelegen. Wir hatten ein sehr großes Zimmer mit Küchenzeile. Auch das Bad war in Ordnung, einzig der Ausblick auf ein Wellblechdach, welches das halbe Fenster verdeckte, war hässlich. Das Frühstück war gut und lies keine Wünsche offen. Insgesamt zu empfehlen, aber ein Zimmer höher der zweiten Etage wählen.

Bellissimo albergo in posizione centralissima (ad una via di distanza dall'esplanade). In dieci minuti a piedi raggiungi il waterfront precint, in quindici Mindil beach e George Brown botanic garden.
