Average hostel, good level of cleanliness and social areas. I like the fire in the upstairs lounge, central location and well supplied kitchen. Be aware the kitchen closes 9pm for the night and between 11-12 for cleaning. Aggressive posters with rules and big fines up everywhere but staff seem relaxed about it.

Pleasant and basic hostel. Good facilities, bathrooms were quite nice. Rooms were somewhat messy but overall my stay was very pleasant. Not particularly social.

The bad things: the room was old and dirty, the reception closes very early, so if someone needs something, there's no help after.

Good clean backpackers hostel with a nice big kitchen. The beds are really comfortable and the place was generally quiet. The reception closes at 15:30, so if you check in later than that, you will get charged $20 extra for a late check in. I can understand trying reducing costs because of the covid-19, but 15:30 is just too early

Just so you're aware before booking, they have a policy which means they charge you the first night accommodation contrary to the Hostelworld free cancellation policy. We couldn't go due to COVID and cancelled under the Hostelworld free cancellation timeframes, so the hostel charged me $140. After going back and forth, they decided to refund me, but they were reluctant to do so. The only upside is that the receptionist was very very lovely and was only trying to enforce her manager's policy.

Good. Comfy bed, good price, good location. Friendly staff plenty of lounge areas. Lady at reception very friendly and polite Other residents polite and respectful and quiet. Plenty of power points in the room. Bad. As a Tasmanian I had to pay a $200 deposit because of my address? I was fortunate to have access to $200 but considering that this is a budget place I do wonder how many people have a spare $200 laying around, and I had to have a room inspection before I got my money back ? I felt like a 36 year old in boarding school.(also feel this is discrimination against locals). Not many mugs and cups in the kitchen. No ovens but plenty of hot plates, microwaves and toasters. The shower even after running it for a few minutes wouldn't heat up. Room very empty a bedside table might have been handy. The kitchen is closed after 9pm till 7am so to bad if you want a pre bed warm drink or have an early breakfast. Not sure if I will be back but glad to have tried it out. And the reception lady was kind

Stayed there 5 nights and the last two night was only me in the 8bed dorm.The lounge was big and you can always find your place,the bed was very comfortable with a warm duvet. Only the bad thing was,every day until 7to8 the kitchen was so crowded,but that's a hostel!

Stayed here for a month. Located in a convenient area with restaurants and cafés close by. The rent was cheap for its location. Bathrooms were clean, which was really important for me. Didn't have any troubles sleeping there with the sheets changed weekly.

Great lounge and private rooms. However there's tons of rules everywhere that doesnt make you feel welcome and a lot of noise in the hallways. Woke up at night due to fire alarm and everybody had to leave the hotel to wait outside. Someone told us it was happening 2 or 3 times per month. Would not recommand to someone who needs a good night of sleep.

I stayed here only a few nights but it was quite cool, very maze like, so many corridors and turns. Several showers they were a bit run down but there was hot water so that was all I was looking for. The beds were nice but I did wake up with my entire left arm covered in bumbs as well as my legs so I'm unsure what this was. Nice ladies only form. I really liked that.

Stayed here for almost 8 months and it was an awesome experience! It is conveniently located in the heart of the Hobart CBD. Close to the shops, supermarket, asian stores, parks, hospital and churches. It was a quiet and smooth stay. I met so many friends from different walks of life. My room were cleaned every week or as per my request. The housekeeping staff were polite, friendly and cheerful. The hardworking night manager guy named Laurence is very hardworking and always happy to help their guests. He always make sure that the vicinity were secured and quiet at night. I felt so safe. Also, I am so happy of the awesomeness of the front desk staff especially Klaudia who was very accommodating and warm to all of us. She's been so nice since day 1 up to our check out. Thank you. I'll definitely come back to this hotel if I get a chance. A home away from home this one!

As one of the other reviews say, It is indeed an old building but the staffs do an amazing job. Pretty cheap for a hotel that is located in the center of the city. If you are for shopping and tourism, this can be your kind of place. The kitchen and lounge are exceptionally clean and good. Being an University student, I had to move to a place close to the University eventually. I loved my stay there.

Clean, comfortable, large king bed. Newly renovated showers. Good late check-in service. Can't open window for fresh air in daytime owing to traffic and construction noise. Dormitory door lock faulty and was locked out on going to the bathroom late at night.

Value for money, stayed here for 4 nights the bed is super comfy, had excellent sleep, facilities are okay but adequate for hygiene, rooms clean, friendly staff, I've definitely stayed in worse conditions. Overall i was happy with $50/night

Very convenient location with a cafe shop right below the hotel and a Nepalese-Indian restaurant next door. It has clean rooms, private lockers and free luggage room for who needs it before check-in or after check-out. The service is also flexible for customers and you can borrow hair dryer for free!

My stay was one of the worst nights of my life. My room was the old coal dungeon underneath. Pitch black with a tunnel leading under the road. I met the ghost. An orb of light that kept coming from the tunnel. It reacted to my voice and. Was my only source of light. Who was killed underneath this hotel? The bookstore owner agreed when I said there was a ghost down there. True story

Very central in Hobart, pretty convenient and cheap. The rooms have lockers and the kitchen is convenient, so you'll have pretty much everything you need here but it's not the cleanest hostel (no big issues though).

Great location, pretty good price for the value you get, but dont expect amazing. There are lots of rules to follow so make sure you read up in advance and not get locked out of the reception / building / kitchen. Free parking on street after 6pm right outside the backpacker hotel or 6 dollars all day on Saturday at the multi story Carpark right next to the hotel (Trafalgar place car park)

The reception is a bit confusing, the kitchen is missing a bit of cutlery... On the other hand, the beds are very comfy and location is great. It's possible to leave the luggage there but the room for it smells like fermenting cheese

For the cheapest nights in Hobart, you have to be here! Wide range of dorm types and even single rooms for the ones that need privacy. Located near CBD and most of the attractions. Excellent rooms, best mattresses I've had in a hostel so far and toilets/showers are OK. Already came back twice to this hostel. Can definitely recommend!

My husband and I visited this city recently. The whole property is extremely clean. The range of amenities offered was what someone would expect from a hotel of its class. All in all a good hotel in a good location with great transport connections. A good time was had here.

The cheapest double room price we could.find in Hobart. For.price it is.good. but Hobart accommodation not cheap. Even staying in London in UK cheaper for hostels. The hostel has a good kitchen and clean. The relaxation room is ok and tv if.you like that sort thing. The room was clean bit dated no lampshades. But I was.happy with my stay.

Clean and Comfie Beds 👌🏽 they are assigned by reception, so you should ask them for your bottom bed 😉 One negative could be the daunting fines if you misbehave ... Check out late? 20$ bring a unpaying friend 200$ leave your cooking alone 500$ and so on .. but if you are on the watch it should be fine

Amazing place. I've been traveling for 18 months now and there are 3 things that are unbeatable: the mattresses, the common areas and the Wi-Fi. Rooms and mattresses are super comfy. Common areas are huge and the numerous couches and private corners are perfect to connect with others and to organize your own things in private. .... That doesn't mean you don't have Wi-Fi in your room. You have great Wi-Fi! Everywhere. Which is limited to the common areas in most of the backpackers in Australia.

Almost everything is clean and the beds are comfortable. The kitchen could be better equipped. They put the employees in half bedrooms and half storage rooms. That's the worst.

Beds kitchen and bathroom are nice. Lots of passages to navigate. Parking is between 6pm and 8am. So it is an early start if you don't want a parking ticket.

Great place, perfect location in the middle of the centre of Hobart. Everything is on walking distance! Rooms are clean and comfortable. One tip: public rooms as kitchen and tv rooms can be a little cold in wintertime but heater in the rooms work perfectly.

Everyone here is friendly and kind in backpackers, especially they made me feel like a family when I came here in Tasmania, here everything is very clean, everyone comes every week clean my room, they always maintain cleanliness here, very polite and friendly, especially Alex and Laurence they are night guards, they always ensure the safety of the backpackers community at night and they will always be there when you are needed them

The worst thing about the hotel is that the kitchen closes at 9.30pm. and they throw you out of it even if you are cooking at the moment. I understand that it is for a matter of organization, but not being able to go in to get my food from the refrigerator all night, it seems disastrous. In addition, the reception closes at 8:00 p.m., which also seems very bad to me. Anyway, good stay with some minor drawbacks. (Original) El hotel está muy bien ubicado. Las habitaciones están bien en relación precio - calidad. La limpieza está bien y el personal en general es amable. Lo peor del hotel es que la cocina cierra 21.30 hs. y te echan de la misma aunque estés cocinando en el momento. Entiendo que sea por una cuestión de organización, pero no poder entrar a agarrar mi comida de la heladera durante toda la noche, me parece nefasto. Además, la recepeción cierra a las 20 hs., lo cual también me parece muy mal. En fin, buena estancia con algunos pequeños inconvenientes.

吵！吵很很！一埋年輕人在樓下喝酒嘻鬧，重點是很「應聲」住最高層還是會聽得一清二楚。廚房爐子有一半用不了，雖然廚具還是沒人洗、舊、亂丟（青年旅館嘛，一般都是這樣的）但比起我住過其他澳洲地方的hostel算是可以接受了。

(Original) Zimmer und Betten sind klasse, Küche wird täglich zweimal gesäubert -bei den Induktionsplatten gibt es leider zu wenig Töpfe /Pfannen, aber es gibt weitere Cerankoxhfelder - Aufenthaltsbereich ist gemütlich, Duschen sind okay, die Trennwände können aber bald ma erneuert werden. Lage ist zentral. Und das Stuff ist sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. Definitiv zu empfehlen.
