This place is awesome. I booked our accommodation so was feeling the pressure to choose something good. It was so good and we'll definitely be back. Yes, there is some traffic noise but you're right in the CBD and you're staying in an amazing old place with so much character and charm. The location is perfect, the rooms are big and so comfortable, the coffee is great, and Chris and Matt are top guys. We loved it ❤

Fabulous old heritage listed hotel with great, comfortable and clean facilities and large room with beautiful high ceiling.
Location is great, only a few hundred metres to Salamanca Markets and Franklin Wharf (plenty of restaurants and bars there), and a few hundred metres in the other direction to Elizabeth St Mall and the CBD shopping district.
The owner, Chris, is incredibly hospitable yet unintrusive. Continental breakfast is great, and included in room price. Couldn't ask for more, can highly recommend Macquarie Manor!

Huge thank you to Matt, Chris and Raggy!
We couldn't have been happier with our room, it was large, clean and very comfortable.
Chris and Matt provided a complimentary breakfast (delicious) and parking on site.
Our immense gratitude for all your assistance and ensuring we had a room after covid cancelled out flights.
When in Hobart, we wouldn't stay anywhere else.

Hassle free and piece of mind. Chris & Matt very friendly and looked after very well. I would love to stay here again if iam visiting Hobart again.

Staying at the Macquarie Manor was a pleasure. Our room was very large, with two lounges a desk and chair also very nicely decorated. The bed was super comfy. The continental breakfast is great good choice of cereal, fruit and spreads for the toast. Nice heated up croissants and coffee was also very good. We will stay here again.

This was a beautiful hotel, large bedrooms and set in a perfect location. Couldn’t fault anything. The staff were so accommodating and went out of their way to make sure we had everything needed to enjoy our stay.

Majestic building, beautiful decor. Super comfy king size bed, very quiet thanks to double glazing. Chris our host was welcoming & went above & beyond to make our stay perfect. Lovely breakfast. Short walk to everything Hobart has to offer. Will definitely stay here again.

We stayed at the Macquarie Manor in January and had an exceptional experience. Despite some setbacks with our trip, we were able to enjoy our time in Hobart thanks to Chris's warm hospitality. Chris is a wonderful host, he has an exceptional knowledge of Hobart and it's surrounds and is always willing to go above and beyond what is expected. We will be staying again, and heartily recommend it to anyone else looking for a grand room, in a grand place, with the best host.
A. S.
Thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. Probably helped that our host Chris was kind enough to upgrade us to a bigger room. Centrally located in a grand old heritage listed house. Parking (albeit limited) out the back. Stairs to the upstairs rooms. Quality continental breakfast. Chris is an informative guide and loves his work.

A beautiful heritage building with modern fittings and old fashioned charm. The best stay I have ever had in Hobart, thanks largely to the hospitality of Chris. Cannot recommend this welcoming and comfortable manor enough
A. H.
What a wonderful Manor the rooms are so big and very old but kept in great condition. Chris and his rag doll cat just make the manor. Location is great to. We stayed in a modern hotel earlier but I would come back here before modern.
T. R.
great location, very friendly staff and great breakfast. Room was big and the building itself was very impressive. will be staying here again next trip to Hobart and would recommend to friends.
J. W.
Beautifully maintained and clean rooms. The staff are just wonderful and incredibly accommodating. Highly recommend a stay here if you are visiting the Hobart region.

Love the decor, the breakfast and Raggy the cat. Nothing to fault, great service, comfy bed, great location. Will definitely be staying here again when I return to Hobart.

Loved our stay at the Manor, majestic accommodation, in a central location, walking distance to everything. Great night's sleep, so quiet thanks to the double glazing and super comfy king size bed.
K. R.
Great place to stay at. Large clean & comfy rooms with breakfast daily. Matt & Chris are very friendly & helpful.

The manor is a really comfortable, clean and convenient place! I’m really impressed. Chris, the owner is a really lovely guy. He was flexible and very accomodating with our needs. Would definitely stay here again.
B. P.
Chris the owner was really helpful, kind and overall just great, the room was nice and had everything we needed, WiFi was surprisingly fast and worked great.
Would absolutely stay again, it's in a pretty good place aswell as it's a short walk down to the pier things.

Nice old building ok rooms but could do with a refit such as the worn carpet and old style TV considering the 180.00 a night charge. It's obviously run with limited staff but that did not affect the stay. Rooms are basic motel style and the car park is a night mare. Great location to walk to Hobart CBD or the Sala***ca/Wharf area.
T. M.
The location is within good walking distance to the central CBD as well as the local fishery/markets(Sala***ca) with lots of good nightspots for eating/drinking. Everything was clean and tidy and for a solo traveller there is nothing else I …

Raggy the cat is the best welcome to Tasmania you could have. Yum breakky and so well located. Room was bright and huge. Excellent value for money, thanks Chris!

What a great stay my partner and I had over the weekend at the ***or. The rooms are great if you like old world charm but the highlight is the staff. We were in Room 11 which is large and had high ceilings. We are professionally rated every year by the AAA ratings group.
T. M.
We are so impressed with this hotel. To my surprise there was a beautiful bouquet of flowers with a nice 'Happy Birthday' Location is superb. Angela was there to greet us with our favorite room ready and waiting for us. We were not disappointed deciding to stay in The Macquarie ***or right in the heart of the city.
F.
I thought this hotel was great. Friendly staff and spacious, clean rooms. Never heard any noise from outside which is great as I'm a light sleeper. And good breakfast too. Would highly recommend
T. M.
We had a lovely time at this charming little place. Lady at reception was friendly. There is continental and cooked breakfast available in the mornings and plenty of coffee/tea. Breakfast was adequate. The desserts were fabulous, I had a lovely panacotta with pistachio and my husband had a superb chocolate fondant.
T. M.
We were within a short walk to the CBD and Sala***ca. Decor is clean and in Georgian style to match building. Have stayed myself and was understandable to employees not wanting to return. I would definitely recommend this for a very comfortable stay, with a bit of history included.
T. M.
Recently my husband and I had a wonderful holiday travelling around Tas***ia. Heritage building with huge rooms. The rooms are fantastic. The ***ager Tony is a very welcoming, friendly and helpful ***. Work travel so no need for parking and the ***ager was on hand to let me in.
T. M.
My husband and I spent twelve days at the Macquarie ***or and is was absolutely wonderful. Location is good as its within walking distance to Sala***ca and the city centre. The rooms are period and well presented. The next morning at breakfast we were met with a smile and a warm welcome by Linda.
T. M.
The location was fab, just a few minutes walk from Sala***ca, the wharfs and the shopping precinct. I would highly recommend this establishment to anyone traveling to Hobart. Apparently they can provide breakfast and, again according to the lady, it might be that a hot breakfast maybe available.
T. M.
Had a good chinwag with the ***ager over a cuppa next morning. Only comment we could make is that there is enough room for a bath in the room but there are none. We decided to finish our holiday staying in the beautiful city of Hobart. The hotel price was reasonable.
T. M.
Keeping the tariff at an affordable level by the owners would be challenging but they are doing a great job. The building is probably over 100 years old decorated with vintage furniture and high ceilings. We would stay again for the sheer convenience of location and hope for a nicer room.
T. M.
Walking distance to Sala***ca which is highly favorable. Plenty of room to lounge around. Tony's hot breakfast made a great start for the day. We had a Queen bed and a Double bed and it was reasonably priced. There is a VERY complicated parking system at this place as there is limited parking.
F. M.
Great place to stay the rooms are huge. Easy walk down to markets & waterfront. And a great breakfast in the morning.
T. M.
An easy walk to Sala***ca etc. The rooms were indeed huge and the furniture was what I would call 'old' not 'vintage' or 'antique. A B&B that is large enough to feel like a hotel with the amazing service and nice extra's that a B&B offers. Definately where we will be coming back to for our anniversary.

Beautiful
Comfortable. We'll priced. Perfect location. Great breakfast. Limited parking at 15 dollars per night. Lovely staff. History and ghost stories.
D. L.
I really enjoyed my stay here. The Building and interior was great, my room was huge and very nicely furnished. The young lady at the desk was very helpful. I think the only thing, i would have liked some more atmosphere downstairs, a little music playing, a restaurant serving food etc. Overall though, was a lovely stay. Thank you x
C. S.
Lovely old hotel. Well renovated. Satisfying breakfast. Very happy with our room. So central!
G. R.
We stayed in the family room and it was so spacious. Seperate room for the kids with possibility to sleep 7 people. Breakfast was delightful and the staff was very helpful. Would definitely come back again.
K. T.
Was a pleasure staying there.
The rooms are so big.
Chris the owner Barista cook cleaner and entertainment was awesome.
Highly recommend it.
T. M.
A carpet that appeared to have suffered (ironically) during cleaning might be explained by the current renovations of a previously tired building but, basic dusting. The room itself had not had the benefit of the downstairs make over. …

Great location : )
well-maintained!!!
Simple but nice breakfast, will find everything you need, milk and cereal, fruit juice, bread & jam and Tasmania honey, croissants and butter, and yoghurt!
And super helpful and friendly staffs ^^

Massive room, comfy bed and great location! Staff were welcoming...

The hotel has been well maintained and is in a good location. The breakfast was extremely satisfying with croissants, cereal, variety of breads, juices and yoghurt. The management is amazing and everyone was a pleasure to talk to.
The room and sheets were clean as well
T. M.
Booked at bargain price and after reading some critical reviews was anticipating disappointment. I cannot understand 'What E's comments as they could not have been further from my own experience. Booked a mystery deal feel they are trying to hide their hotel in mystery deals as they do not offer cancellations.
M. M.
The service was awesome, we were walked to our room and our bags delivered for us as well as after our stay. The staff were very helpful and friendly. The room was big and spacious and was well maintained and setup. The only thing was that the taps from other rooms were noisy and would wake us up. Otherwise the stay was great and the location was perfect. Having the Nant bar below was also another great surprise.
D.
Really beautiful colonial heritage building with amazing foyer and breakfast/ reception area. However the room although massive was rather dated and had no windows and there was a constant exhaust fan running. Check-in is very limited and only available between 2 and 5pm. Breakfast was really good though however.
M. O.
Good accommodation with a inviting staff. Chris was helpful to us as newly arrived vacationers. Good continental breakfast each monring, with gluten options!!! Great central location with parking.
K. H.
Great hotel Be mindful of you have a lot of luggage as trying to get it upstairs a nightmare. Parking an issue

Super! Recommended! Matt & Chris were very helpful and friendly. Rooms clean and comfortable.

Great value for money. The guy that works there around 35 ish is really awesome. Always lovely and up for a chat. Makes you feel so welcome
J. C.
Good sized and very clean rooms, well stocked, kind and friendly people manning the desk, great continental breakfast, and lovely old style setting with heaps of wood features and antiques.
Stayed in Hobart for one night in March, had one of the larger suites with myself and mom in the Queen Heritage and my dad had the Corporate room.
Queen Heritage was spacious, light - filled with big windows, easy to open for fresh air, nice verdant plants. Good coffee maker with heaps of pods for us fo use. Comfortable couches and bed. Had tall ceilings that made it feel like we had nearly two floors.
Corporate room substantially smaller but had all your requirements, including a little window to peek out on the street.
Had a very classic feel, loved the antiques all around and the spare room in the front.
The people working there made the place, helpful and friendly.
Of note, parking is super scarce! Book a parking spot if you need one!

Cosy room. Friendly staff. Love the complimentary breakfast.

A smallish hotel that is very quaint. It has a fireplace that is very attractive to Asians who do not need nor have a fireplace in the house.
M. J.
very friendly reception. UPGRADED ME FOR FREE to a beautiful room....love it
S. K.
Its nice, the staff are nice but the suite of services like room service / dry cleaning are not available and this makes a work trip more difficult
S. M.
Fantastic place to stay in Hobart. Central location and friendly staff.
K. L.
Very friendly owner and lovely nice motel. Love this place atmosphere and nice breakfast are provided
A. B.
Best place I stayed in all of Tasmania! The building itself is historic, with high vaulted ceilings and decor to match. My room was incredibly spacious and well appointed, and was the only hotel in all of Australia with free hanging wooden hangers. Location also could not be better, super close to Salamanca and the MONA ferry, as well as the city center. And last, but probably most importantly, the staff is AMAZING. Loved the breakfast as well.
G. S.
Very cozy and easy to get around Hobart
C. W.
Very welcoming and friendly elegant quiet and peaceful. In the words of the lovely Tassie people - Beaut!
E. G.
Check in was messed up, heaters in the room weren't functioning. The bathroom lights weren't fit properly and was dangling!!

J. H.

Great place to be.
Parking is a problem because you have to pay extra in any hotel in Hobart. But you can free park in front of the hotel for monday-friday after 6pm and just leave before 8:30am. weekendays you can park any time which is perfect for me.
