K.I you're looking for a flexible, well managed hostel by 'Mo', who's always keen for a chat and very inclined to meet your concerns or homely needs, warm working quiet environment then Nararra is your place. It's oh so cost effective for Tasmania, includes fridges, oven, payed laundromat and a heater in every room. Showers are clean and toilets kept tidy. Room for improvement? No, we got a late checkout since we've a late flight so Mo's generosity with sincere regards 🙏
R. S.I was really satisfied during my stay at Narrara Backpackers. Unfortunately, it had to be during Xmas time, when tons of people had to isolate. I had my private room with shared bathroom for great budget price. The room was also very tidy and clean, with towels provided. Thank you Mo!
G. H.We came quite late in the evening and had already checked another hostel for prices. Narrara Backpackers was welcoming from the beginning, it was cheaper then the other hostel and the guy was suuper friendly. They have a little garden in the back with a few vegetables for everyone. It is not one of these big commercial hostels.

C. V.This hostel is more like a big family house. Mo, the owner and manager goes above and beyond to provide the warmest welcome. He will always try to help you.
The only bad part is that some of the mattress are too thin and could use a change, and the overall cleanliness improved.

P. N.The dorms are nice, common areas are clean. This feels more like a home/shared house than a hostel and Mo the manager is lovely and welcoming.

People were all friendly.
At 15 min by foot from the CBD of Hobart, the location is ideal. You can enjoy a small garden at the back of the building to do your yoga surrounded by different fruits and vegetables grown by the owner.
We took the private room downstairs who is pretty big with tv, small kitchen and your own bathroom.
Of you like good vibe I recommend you this place.
M. H.Recently stayed here during a short visit to Hobart. Moe is very accommodating and looks after his guests. The place has what you need, is good value and is in a central location. I would stay again. Cheers to those folks that I met while staying there.

V. M. F.The owner is so friendly !!! Room with heater, hangers, great mattress, perfect shower, nice people ... The cooker is not so clean, but the rest is clean and organized. Super cozy atmosphere. And luckily for us, street parking ended up being free on weekends.

R. S.What would be a basic backpackers hostel is made into an excellent experience, simply because of the owner, Mo. He takes care to make your stay absolutely as comfortable as possible, right down to making an effort to remember everyone's name. My partner and I stayed here for a couple of nights, and three weeks later when we returned, he greeted us like old friends. Nice rooms, decent bathroom facilities, functional kitchen, and a legend of an owner.
M. A.Really great hostel clean and warm. The manager of the hostel Mo is incredibly kind and accommodating. We feel like at home. The rooms are top notch and the beds very comfortable. I recommend this hostel 200%. The kitchen and the common places are very cool. I will stay at Narrara Backpackers again if I come back to Hobart.

S.Honestly the only backpackers I've stayed in so nothing to compare it to, but what I can say is that the owner, Mo, is a gentleman. Very welcoming, attentive and warming. I'm happy with my decision to choose Narrara. I've enjoyed my stay and it's the place I will stay again when I return.

S.Smallish, basic but friendly hostel, proprietor is great and it's very close to CBD, if you are on foot worth considering, if you're in a car,have to watch for the parking gestapo otherwise you'll get stung. Still give the place 5 stars because it's so different to most other impersonal places even though the parking issue detracts from the experience

B.Nararra backpackers is a little gem, I was a little nervous because I haven't stayed in a backpackers before, but the manager has such a great attitude and he makes the place feel very comfortable. The rooms aren't 5 star but definitely comfortable for a couple of nights, everything is kept clean and the manager has a great sense of detail and order in the lodge. Would recommend for anyone wanting a social and adventurous place to stay.

O. J.My favorite hostel in the world. It's cozy, it's friendly, has all you need and mainly the best manager/owner I've met. The room may have been small but they never filled it on purpose to leave some space to store things. The kitchen is small and gets busy at peak times but it has all the utensils you might ever need. Ask Mo for local tips and short walks near the city. He's usually also very helpful when your plans suddenly change.

The hot water very enough in winter, also provide toilet paper if you need, kitchen have enough equipment for use

a. a.A nice hostel. Cozy rooms, and close to the city center. The kitchen is quite good with its gas cooktops. The manager is very friendly and accommodating. He arranged for extending our stay over the Easter weekend even though they were maxed out on the double room bookings.
S. H.The hostel is very well located. The manager Mo makes you feel like you are home. He's very welcoming and shows you around. The hostel is rather small and very familiar and the staff is friendly and great. It's clean and tidy. The fridge is checked every day. The rooms are cosy and you have enough plugs to charge your phone. They have WiFi and washing facilities for $4. I can highly recommend to stay in Narrara backpackers.

J. S.We really enjoyed our four night stay at Narrara. The twin room we had was on ground level and and was clean and comfortable with fresh linen and towels, even if not very big. But for the price we paid it was good value. The hostel feels warm and cosy. The bathrooms were clean and kitchen looks like been given a recent upgrade and includes everything you need to cook a good meal. Owner was very helpful and informative. Happy come back here again.
T. B.This hostel is great! I emailed them as I was hoping on a plane from Melbourne to Hobart arriving at 10pm. When I landed I had a reply and called them to make a booking. Mo is very helpful and made arrangements to accommodate me so late and last minute. He even upgraded my room so I didn't disturb other guests by coming in late. The location is very central and a very close to all the rental car agencies in the city.
L. &. M. M. &. M.It's clean, with a nice and warm service from the staff. Large and well equiped kitchen. But there's no insulation, so it gets really cold at night, and there's nearly nowhere to park (2 spots parking in the backyard only). Hobart city doesn't joke with parking rules and we got a 123$ fine while we parked our rental car a bit further down the street where the backpackers is located, thinking it was safe.
N. V.Only stay here if you have a strong disease resistance and love dirt.
Mo, who managages the hostel is very friendly an helpful, unfortunately the facilities are incredibly dirty. I didn't cook here once as the kitchen was horrible and the mould infested shower curtain didn't get changed during the three nights I stayed here. The bed and carpet were full of other peoples hair.
C. G.Was out late with friends and this was the cheapest available hotel so we booked it and shared a room and just split the check and it was fantastic. Great shower and the bed was super comfy and we watch iRobot on the tv. It was a fantastic night! The staff were super helpful cause we had a money mix up as we lost one of our wallets but we got it back and yeah. Definitely recommend!!!!
A. S. P.We stayed in the family room for three nights. The place is located at near city centre (10-15 mins walk to Salamanca Market , The room is bit small for four of us, but clean and tidy. However, the room is bit cold (we stayed there during winter time) may be because the building doesn't have insulation. They provided us with the portable heater, however it has problem with the extension cord and it went off several times during the night. Overall, if you are looking for an accommodation near the city, this is one place you can consider.
Mo, the manager, was very helpful and try to make our stay comfortable.

Some points are a bit disappointing though : the rooms are small, not much space for your things ; the ladies bathroom is always flooded from the showers ; the kitchen is a bit too small : not enough space for all the foo bags and when it's dinner time it's impossible to cook !

M. H..Very basic and small bedrooms, but fromt living room is very comfy, and very easy to meet new friends. Close enough to downtown Hobart to easily explore it, and do activities like the bars, indoor rock wall climbing, or going to the park to look at the stars.
o. X.My first time in Australia and I still couldn't tell the difference between this place and home. Some nice friendly reception they give and beautiful people of other races over there. I love it.
