I. O.Beautiful location with wonderful homely feel. Rooms and bathrooms are immaculately clean and well cared for. Communal kitchen / lounge has excellent facilities. The manager "Bumpy" is warm, friendly, welcoming and creates a lovely environment for guests. Thank you, highly recommend to all travellers 🙂

E. M.Bumpy is the best! Took care of me, when I was stranded from my tour, due to covid restrictions for “Brisbaner’s”. Got it all sorted and treated me like a daughter. Amazing gardens and fun, homey atmosphere. One big family.

You better have some humour because Bumpy (owner) is a funny, humorous, generous, loving and caring guy. 2 of us got a dorm room on Christmas holiday season and it was great. We were planning to camp but the weather turned and we needed shelter. Book a night or couple here, people are friendly and he had great rates for us. Also you can get discount on the Hertiage cruise - Gordon river if you book through Bumpy!

L.The place is clean and well taken care of. Heating is provided as well. My only problem is the toilet and shower is in a separate building from the dorm so you have to make your way there in your coat in winter.
M. N.Well, I have to say, Guests! f you want to feel going back to home, this is your place! This is the place the spirits of hospitality remains!! It was the best accommodation experience I had in the last past 25 years. The last time the person who took out my cloth from dryer and fold it was my mom, when I found Bumpy did that to me, I was so moved... When I mentioned I had a little bit headache, he gave me the pill immediately. He runs this place with heart, which learned a lot. Many thanks my darling Bumpy, I do not think we can enjoy more during the rest of journeys. I hope I can see u soon, not as tourists, just like family and friends. I will be back! Please please take care of u self.

J. M.Great location, comfortable beds, good facilities, a short walk to the boat tour and a slightly longer one to the train station. Bumpy the owner will sort you out, whatever you need. Watch out for his sense of humour-razor sharp. I loved it here.
B. K.Wonderful place with wonderful owner. Had a pleasure meeting Bumpy and staying in his home. Cool guy with big heart. The whole complex is beautiful and clean with little artworks everywhere. The rooms are simple and are a steal compared with every other place in Strahan. Nice little hidden gem. Thanks again for your hospitality Bumpy.

W. L.This is fantastic accommodation, whatever your budget may be, if you're making the trip out to Strahan. The hostel is walking distance from everything in the town; the lavatories, kitchen, dorms and private rooms are clean and spacious. I stayed with my partner in one of the cabins for two nights and it was the best couple of nights sleep we had in Tasmania. Last word for the owner Bumpy - this guy is a raconteur, a teacher and above all, a generous spirit, a real character.

S. T.Bumpy who owns this place is so kind hearted saw a young lady ask him for some rice as she was hungry and Bumpy just went and got some for her. You couldn't meet a better bloke. My 3 days cost me nothing. I don't know how he knew but he just senced and I was trying to write my debt off on credit card Fri last day and got told let this be my gift to you. This fellow owns Gordon River Cruises the red Harbour Master boat and I can't recommend either highly enough

C.Bumpy kindly took us in late at night when we couldn't find a caravan park space, we were self contained though he offered us access to the modern bathrooms (which we used!).....he explained his family runs a Gordon River cruise though we had unfortunately booked with someone else otherwise I recon he could have got us a good deal....we had a peaceful overnight stay on site!
