Overall awesome place to stay! As a wheelchair (manuel) user the place is accessible enough (no specialist bathroom or rooms) but accessible enough that I could get to the bathroom and rooms, just a little squishy but doable! The prices are great, Linen is fresh/clean, bathrooms are clean and well maintained, beds are comfortable! I would definitely reccomended!

Convenient stay, friendly staff, clean facilities, abundant bathrooms, big kitchen/fridge/shelfspace, and welcoming housekeeping staff. Cinema room, pool in the communal area at level 3 with plenty of space to relax. Only on the weekends though, some guests find it hard to sleep because of the bar at levels 1&2 with loud music till the morning. Also, Elizabeth St might not be the best street for everyone to stay or live in. Otherwise, its a good place close to almost everything. Look out for Ovi and Jenne’s daily conversations and housekeeping perks, lovely staff!

Actual thick mattresses, not the cheap foam ones like cheaper hostels have. Epic location. Rooms are way too small though, I went with a 3 bed running as a 2 bed, figured nobody would be in the other bed since they are at like 20% capacity. Nope. By the time all their stuff was on the floor there wasn't much room for mine. Would probably be better off in a cheaper, larger dorm, they would have a lower per-per-foot rate and room to breathe, kinda ironic. I feel like those rooms should be 1 person max tbh. That's more of an industry problem, trying to eek out every square inch of a room to cram more people in 🤑 Do I recommend? Sorta. You can get a private room for $251 per week right now, if you can afford that, do it, if you can't afford that, don't travel. 😬

One of the best hostels I've stayed in during my whole traveling experience, and I've been in many, believe me! The facilities, the bathrooms, super clean, but, overall: the staff members! Jeff is a great person that would do it's best to make you feel like home during your stay. Hey, this place is amazing, don't doubt it for a second when you are booking your nights in the beautiful Melbourne. Ps: the pancakes in the morning are real pancakes, they taste delicious :)

I stayed here last August and I was by myself. It's a nice place to meet people, especially if you join the free tour. Common spaces are pretty clean, toilets and rooms too. The kitchen is enough big for everybody but sometimes you may wait a bit. The hostel also provides pasta, rice and tea for free! I highly recommend this place

Great location. If you are looking to book this place would recommend that you book at least 1 week in advance. Within the building there is a bar on the first floor which offer discounted drinks for guests. The reception is at 3rd floor and a big open kitchen area where you can cook your own food. For ladies, hairdryer is provided in the bathroom. Only complain is the room smells a bit and it can get very noisy at night even though my room was located at the top floor.

I spent one night in an 18-beds dormitory, which to my surprise didn't feel crowded at all because the room was very big. The boxes for storage under the beds are a really good idea, as well as the lockers although you need your own lock to lock them (which I didn't know). The room got quite hot while I was there (no air-con) but the fans made it bearable. However because the windows were open through the night I was woken up several times by the noise down on the street. The bathrooms were clean, the kitchen was really big and the free pancakes in the morning were great. The living/meeting up area is large and nice.

Best hostel in the melb CBD by alot. Great facilities, clean rooms and everything is well kept. You're allowed to drink in the common room too unlike another hostel nearby that won't let you so they can sell more expensive drinks at their bar 🙄

I stayed here for 2 nights in one of the deluxe 6 bed rooms. The beds are extremely comfortable I must admit, the light, usb, plug & shelf right next to the bed are great. The issue is, I paid for the deluxe room to get air conditioning as it’s very warm in Melbourne right now. There was a sign next to the ac unit saying it would come on when it got to 25 degrees, I can tell you it was well over 25 degrees for the majority of the time I was there & the AC didn’t turn on once. I paid extra literally for this feature & the last night was ridiculously warm, really annoying.

Positives: Location is great. Twin room with private bathroom was excellent. Generous room size, free dinner on certain day, free brekky, pretty clean room and bathroom, great facilities in the room (TV, bar fridge, tea coffee sachets, heater, clean sheets, doona & towel, comfy bed), friendly staff (we got Tiffany when we checked in). Overall excellent value to stay. Negatives: Room was cold especially during winter but they provided heater for us to use. We can hear the noise from inside when people got in to their room but it wasn't too bad. Ground floor before the lift was smelled strong cigarettes.

I think the money we paid is less the value we had. The room is clean and big. They are two charges for each bed,which is really good! And there is free breakfast everyday. Also the staffs are kind,nice and helpful. I will recommend everyone to book here.

Very large hostel, right in the city centre. Dorms are nice, with big lockers and space under the beds for your stuff. No air con in the dorm, but didn't need it when I was there. Kitchen has plenty of pans etc, but is not big enough for the size of the hostel. Bathrooms were ok, though could do to be cleaned more than once a day.

I stayed in a four bedroom am the room was clean the beds were clean with fresh bedding. The atmosphere of the hostel was very beautiful. I came on a Thursday and there was free dinner and it was so delicious. As for the customer service by the reception it made me feel welcomed and at home. The hostels bathroom and toilets are so clean and was happy with my stay.

It is definetly a good hostel to stay in when you just arrived in Melbourne. Positive: - big common room with kitchen, pool, tables and sofas, games, fridge, and cinema room. - there are a lot of staff members, so the service in reception is always fast. - they clean the whole hostel like once every two days. - super friendly staff. - it's right in the city center, super close to tram stops and a train station. Easy to get there. - free breakfast every day (pretty simple but not that bad) and free dinner on wednesdays. There is always free pasta and rice available. Negative: - the flushes of the toilets don't work properly and you have to flush like 2 times. - there is a bar downstairs that can be very noisy at nigh. - it was quite cold in the room since the window didn't close properly, but all rooms are equiped with a radiator and blankets, so we were comfy (but wasted so much energy).

It's okay to spend a couple of nights. Pros: The rooms are nice, you can get free breakfast in the kitchen are (you have to prepare it yourself). Very central location, that's great. Cons: The shared bathrooms are a bit dirty and it's annoying that they can only be accessed with the key card. It's a bit noisy at night.

Looks to be a social hostel but didn't stay long enough to experience that. Good free breakfast in the mornings and every Thursday has free dinner, which also looked good.

A very well kept, professional place. Clean and organized. Free pancake breakfast. Mini movie theater. Pool table. Great location. The reception is open 24/7 which was great when we had to check out at 4am. Nice bathroom/shower facilities. Drawbacks: a bit expensive. Though it was a nice change from the gross cheap hostel we had in Sydney. Premium dorm was worth the money. Common areas were nice and large, but crowded because it's such a large hostel. Very busy. But you may be into that kind of thing. I'm sure it's easy to make friends if that's what you're looking for. Main thing was how slow the elevator was. Probably worse for us staying on the 11th floor, but it just never showed up. So we climbed a LOT of stairs. All in all, this hostel is recommended.

This would be a great hostel if you were there to party and were from a cold country. As it was we were there to work and are from a warmer climate. The rooms were not heated and the window didn't close. And it was loud, incredibly so at times which made short nights even shorter. But the showers were hot and the kitchen clean. In future I will only stay here in summer and during the week.

Had a 4 person room and worked out ok, good size locker. Only thing is that it gets incredibly hot in those rooms and 2 fans doesn't suffice. Pleasee invest in air con for rooms

It was supposed to be a 3-star, but i give it a 4 bcoz the staff i dealt with was very helpful. We booked a 2-private room under my buddy's name, but somehow they out of nowhere put my name. We couldn't find the booking in the system, but they did try their best to arrange another 4-beds shared room for us. Just when we thought things were settled and we went out for our walk, eventually the staff went back to the system and did a checking again and found our booking. Wasn't really happy at first though but they worked out for us so I think they deserve a 4. Bed is clean and tidy. You can't walk without shoes in the room though. Toilets are all okay, price is reasonable. Reception floor is VERY happening as lots of backpackers stay there, with a kitchen to cook, and a space for leisure games/reading/chit-chat. Everything is averagely good. It's a backpackers hostel anyway so don't expect a 5-star service. p/s: Slight noises from the streets downstairs can spread to your room during weekend coz everyone drinks and shouts for conversations. Take note if you mind.

Having come from a city with no trams, the zapping and lights from the tram powerlines was something to get used to. Gets really chilly in winter, so come prepared.

Without a doubt, this backpackers has the best atmosphere of any backpackers in Melbourne. There's a real international community spirit in the reception/kitchen area and the communal cooking and dining makes it a pleasure to hang around whilst being a guest. The room, whilst not fitted with bedside lamps and power outlets, were still of above average quality and comfort. The two wall mounted fans helped ease off the heat from the day.

I love this hostel. Nice and big common area with a lot of oportiunities to cook, billiard, mega jenga, other Games, Computers, fridge, free rice & noodles, free breakfast, pancakes, sugar, tea, ketchup, oil and many more. The bathrooms are clean and get cleaned every day. Rooms are clean and the bin will be empty at every noon. It's directly over a bar, next to some fast food shops, a huge supermarket. Location, common area, staff and it's clean. I will come again, when I'm in Melbourne 🙏🏼b

Stayed 3 nights, it was so good! Friendly greeters art the door to show you to check in. After hours keypasses for the main entrance. You get lockers, under bed storage and the bathrooms are kept clean. Loved the inclusive buffet breakfast and tea n coffee! Really accessible and in a great place, walking distance to the National Gallery of Victoria and bustley laneways. 40mins to St kilda and they have their own bar with yummy reasonably priced food. Would stay again.

Solid hostel. Good facilities, a good atmosphere, great kitchen and social area, and a really good location. All staff we dealt with were friendly and helpful. Only negatives were that the beds were a little on the short side, and running the fan and having the window open didn’t really cool down the room enough on a warm night.

Location is brilliant- right near the train station/restaurants and shops. There's also a bar in the building which has quiz nights and cheap drinks. Generally very clean, spacious kitchen and lots going on in the evenings. Only downside is it can be a bit noisy due to traffic etc but it's a small price to pay for a great location.

A must stay for anyone looking for cheap accommodation in Melbourne, everything you need or want is close and the hostel is absolutely in the best spot for travelers. Good amenities and rooms, very tidy common areas and great activities. The Joint Bar underneath the hostel is awesome too, cheap drinks and food that is a must for anyone on a budget or after something a little cheaper but still great quality. Will be the only place I will stay in Melbourne.

Don't expect a hotel! But the location is amazing the staff is super friendly and there's pancakes for breakfast! Also, really cool amenities like billiard, ping ping, movie room and balcony bar and free towels! The people and the staff made me love this place. I liked it! There was a kitchen to cook our own food. There was a pool table a cinema room with lots of choices of movies to watch and big comfy beanbags. It was a very social place and the rooms varied from very big with 16 bunk beds to small with 4 bunkbeds. It's close to alot of useful places like the train station, bank, shops, bars, river, park, walking distance to the beautiful botanical gardens.

Location, this place is perfect for location. Outside a tram stop within the free tram zone, next to every kind of food place you could think of. 5 minute walk from Flinders Station. A street away from the Yarra River. The rooms were hot though, the heat builds up all day and radiates all night and only a fan to circulate the hot air around. Woke up several times with headaches because of losing so much water during the night from sweating. However the staff are great, the prices are fantastic and the events they hold most nights are really welcoming. If only they could do something about the heat in the rooms then this would have been 5 star for sure!

Solid hostel in an excellent location in the heart of Melbourne. The staff were helpful, there's a big common area for socialising and the kitchen, while very industrial looking does it's job quite well and is very clean. Rooms were clean although maybe not enough power points/sockets. No free Wi-Fi either is a bummer though. If you want a very centrally located hostel this is the place to be.

Finders backpackers is my fav hostel in all of Melbourne... Hell Australia. Now given when I travel I like to keep things simple. So the rooms are very simple, little finishes etc. Just a bed, a usb port and etc. But it's all you need really, do you really use that tv in your room anyway? The place has a great atmosphere and people will aways be ready to talk and share with you places you should check out. Mostly people In there 20s staying there, so pretty cooolllll area of you are like me and in that age group. But yeah definitely recommend!

Flinders Backpackers is a great place to stay right slap bang in the middle of Melbourne. Rooms are always full at this place so make sure to book in advance to make sure you get a bed! The price is good for the facilities that they offer such as, location, good room size, great movie room and film selection and breakfast including pancakes! They'll even give you a credit note if you need to check out early so you don't lose any of your nights booked!

I got a window room so it was pretty difficult to sleep with all the lights and noise and the key card randomly stops working at times which can get annoying. Not a bad place to stay considering the location is at the heart of CBD but it does have the aforementioned shortcomings.

Really good hostel my favourite in Melbourne. The rooms arent too hot or noisy, the social are is big and always busy. It doesn't have a bar but united backpackers round the corner has a good bar, I'd go there every night but Flinders is the better hostel to actually stay at. WiFi is free if you book 7 days otherwise it is quite expensive.

Great atmosphere and right in the centre of the CBD. Seriously close to Flinders Station and Federation Square. The room is very clean and not very comfortable since there wasnt any air-conditioning and it was summer. Staff is very nice and friendly. Kitchen is a bit of a mess.

The earliest possible Check-in is at 1 pm, what I would understand if the room wasn't empty the night bevor and we arrived at 7 am. There are 2 lift but only one works and not realy good. Showering in our room was like Goldilocks and three bears, with a twist. In this version, Goldilocks is tied to a chair and blindfolded. Baby bear is off playing with friends. Mum and Dad are randomly and unpredictablely force feeding Goldilocks with scalding hot and (seperately) cold porridge. Sometimes, there's a nice mix of both in her mouth, the rest is pretty awful and pretty messed up. Our shower would rapidly oscillate between scalding hot and really cold, without us touching the taps. It's like having a younger brother who hears you're showering and immediately starts blasting the hot and cold taps to mess with you. Our hot water jug was not very clean and the element was rusted, so we ingested an unknown quantity of metal oxides lol. Otherwise, staff were great, the room was nice (though there was lots of dust in some places) and overall it was a great stay and great value! All except for that damn shower.
