Review for the buffet. Nice place, air conditioned and quite spacious. I've been here a few times and the quality seems to be consistent. While not a whole lot of range of food, you can't really ask more from such a buffet. Great dessert selections too, especially around holiday seasons.

Had a great staycation in Melbourne here. Location is great. Amazing buffet. The rooms coming due for a refurbishment but it was clean and still high quality, just things like the AC was noisy and thin walls meant you heard more of neighbouring rooms than ideal

Fantastic place to stay at.
Staff were very nice and courteous, rooms are immaculately cleaned and the bathroom was amazing.
Window view was amazing as well, day and night!
Highly recommend staying here!

Really enjoyed my stay here. An older hotel in terms of the rooms but still very stylish. Our deluxe room was well appointed and very nice with a corner lounge and views in two directions. The lobby and restaurants in the hotel are excellent with great ambience. All the staff we encountered were top notch in service and very friendly.
J. E.
Staff were nice enough, room was tried - showing some age.
Stains on bed head, open toothbrush packet left, dirty cup, cup saucers taken away not replaced. Paint spots on full size mirror. Chips in table top, with stain marks.
Restaurant ok, service quality little off.
We were interrupted an hour after checking in, to check if the mini bar was stock correctly.
Overall location is as always great, bit it was just such miss this time. Left us feeling a bit off, overall.
C. T.
Excellent service from the front desk when we had a concern.
Wonderful facilities, room clean and the airconditioning was spot on! (Middle of summer)
Enjoyed the pool and spa and amenities.

By far the best hotel experience my husband and I have ever had. Staff were incredible and accommodating. Rooms were quiet which offered a great night’s sleep, location was second to none, views of the Yarra were outstanding, room service… facilities… the list goes on and on. This will be our new go-to accommodation. Can not recommend this place enough. Thank you, thank you, thank you to everyone at TGH for a wonderful experience. We’ll be sure to tell all our friends.

Such a soothing and calm environment after a hot and busy morning.
We enjoyed the service, a cold glass of water while we perused the menu.
We just wanted coffee and cake which they were happy to oblige with.
A delicious vanilla panecotta and a chocolate brownie were perfect.
G. P.
Comfy room, pleasant staff, not too many people, delicious food. All standard that should be a 5 star hotel.
I ordered firm pillows at my booking - none in the room and none available. We HATE soft fluffy pillows - gives you a sore neck. Why doesn't a 5 star hotel have firm pillows??
2 mornings in a row the coffee was weak!
These 2 things take the rating down to 3 stars. It's basic stuff. For the room rates here it should be better.

It is always a great experience staying at the Grand Hyatt Melbourne. Excellent rooms, amenities, breakfast, restaurant and bar, all supported by a very friendly and welcoming team who always provide great customer service every time.
f.
The lobby is much flashier than the rest of the hotel in general but it is an acceptable standard. Some amenities aren't quite large enough to service the size of the hotel. The classic example is the pool which appeared very unpleasant as it filled up in the afternoons.
T. X.
Went there for function. I really enjoy the formal environment. It was one of those place you can feel the excitement and always looking forward to go.

We found this hotel by accident and are so glad we did! We will definitely be staying here next time we’re in town. This will be our recommendation for our youth group to stay when we come next time as well.
Amazing 🤩

We stayed in a river view room which for the price I found to be quite small, but still comfortable. Compliments to all the staff who were friendly and warming. We enjoyed the buffet breakfast which was well stocked with all you could want for your breakfast, with great coffee.
I did find it odd to come back to the Grand Hyatt at 9.30pm to find the bar open but staff advising it was closing soon and service was therefore closed. At 9.30pm on a Saturday night? That was very disappointing. I've never stayed at a 5 Star property whose only bar shuts at an early hour.
She is a grand old building but can be improved on.
W. Y.
Good service. Nice room with an amazing view. A fantastic buffet breakfast.
B.
Rooms look pretty tired for 5 star, our sink almost fell to the floor due to wear, breakfast was decent location is great
D. W.
I love the spa, pool and steam rooms! Also the included buffet that has things like granola, fresh fruit, pastry, noodles and rice. My favourite was the waffles with cream and chocolate sauce.
Their free supplies are more limited than other hotels I've been to, but their service was amazing!
J. C.
Stayed here and loved it, breathtaking views of Melbourne, great pool, good service, you feel spoilt and bathed in luxury.
c.
Great service and friendly staff. A quite and pleasant bar area, with tasty things on the menu and good coffee.
D.
Just a beautiful place to stay. The staff were friendly and I recommend a staycation if you're coming into the city.
A. M.
The stay was so fantastic and lovely. Stayed with my daughter for a girls getaway and we were treated like royalty. Rooms were super clean and staff were lovely. The upstairs bar was also very beautiful.
W. E.
Woah! I had the best time ever here! Booked this place for a fantastic price at ʜᴏᴛᴇʟʙᴜʟʟʏ.ᴄᴏᴍ I enjoyed this resort and I'm so thankful I stayed at my favorite hotel much cheaper than what I typically spend.
Clean and tidy.. I hope the house keeping were more proactive though. By the time the clean the room it’s well past two in the afternoon ..

Service standards was exceptional throughout the process from check-in to checkout. Ryan at Collins Kitchen was a super star, he made our fine dining experience more memorable and comfortable, we will continuously visit this place in future to be served by Ryan.
Reception team including concierge, porters and valet services was fantabulous. They all super-friendly and was impressed by their unique five star congenial disposition.
Unfortunately, the room was so terrible and we were victims of appalling room temperature issues, during midnight and sleeping experience was seriously disturbed. It wasn't a five star rating but worse than a three star hotel.
We visited this place to celebrate our wedding anniversary but the anniversary night was extremely uncomfortable though we called the engineer at late midnight to fix the issue. However, we won't stay here again but visit Collins Kitchen for sure.
S. K.
Stayed many times. Nice rooms, friendly staff. Will stay again
N. V.
Stay there for business food was incredible coming back again because of the lovely service from a young man named Chris
S. S.
We had the spa room, but unfortunately it didn't have a view. That's ok though, we had a corner view of the Yarra and city from the bedroom.
Not bad value, just a shame it was that very night COVID lockdown kicked in, and so couldn't wander and get breakfast.
I'd still recommend it though, it's very close to lots of restaurants and bars.
Lastly, the in house bar man was lovely, hats off to him :)
C. M.
We had a great stay and wouldn't hesitate to recommend.
W. B.
Nice hotel. A bit dated and the dirty towel in my bathroom wasn't ideal.
C. O.
A great location hotel. Our complimentary room upgrade found us immediately next to the lifts which made sleeping difficult. Breakfast was very disorganised with the cook to order section above the buffet food meant people were queued in front of the hot food buffet and people were trying to access the buffet through the queued line. The staff were friendly but seemed stretched. Fantastic gym, pool, spa & sauna ... best we have seen. Worth a visit.
O. A.
Amazing!
I got the river view.
Absolutely spectacular view.
Very tasty buffet breakfast as expected by hotels. Even had Dim Sims! Yuuuuum!
Oh AND! They have an awesome Steam Room and Sauna Room! With lockers and showers!
A. S.
Wouldn't serve walking breakfasts. I understand covid impact on staffing, but was an inconvenience with business guests
T. C.
The team went above and beyond during our stay. We had come down for a wedding and a few days into our holiday, Melbourne goes into lockdown. Staff were super helpful in helping bring takeout up to our room and checking in on us as we had to get tested and self-isolate in our room until we got our negative result.
Bathroom and room was clean, no hairs, stains, or strange smells, and our thermostat was working perfectly but must agree with other reviews that this hotel collects up dust like no tomorrow 😭
The hotel is located on the Paris end of Collins St and is very conveniently located to a lot of Melbourne’s must-visits.
Stayed 21/05-31/05 🙏🏻

There is only one thing to.say about the Grand Hyatt...it is a little piece of heaven !!!
P.
Unfortunately the 5 star Grand Hyatt standard has slipped and the once great hotel is looking tired.
While the check in process is cordial and efficient it lacks some warmth.
Early evening about 5.45pm and only two other couples in the lounge foyer area and it took 15 minutes to get our drinks (and they arrived 5 minutes apart. )
Dining in the restaurant we advised the waiter we needed to depart by 7.20 as we were attending a show at The Comedy Theatre ( at this stage it is 6.35 and only two other people seated as well). When enquiring at 7.15 pm as to how our meals were coming along due to our time constraint were advised 2 more minutes...they arrived at 7.30pm...really?
On return to the lounge area after our show for a night cap we were greeted with "the bar is closing in 10 minutes, so don't be long"...seriously? And then they mucked up the order.!
Breakfast used to be great, if not one of the best at Melbourne Hotels...not any more...it is good ,but it should be better.
Room was adequate , neat, clean and tidy but cramped. Supposed city view was under whelming.
We used to look forward to staying at the Grand Hyatt...because of the 5 star care and amenities...sadly we wont be back till all the stars are shining again.
L. C.
Stayed at the Hyatt last weekend. We stayed a total of 3 nights. From the time we got there and until we left the service was perfect. Nothing was to hard and everyone was so friendly. The room we got was one of the standard rooms but it felt spacious and the decor was luxurious. We used the gym a few times and I must say it's better than the gym I use when I'm home. The pool was great also. We had the buffet breakfast in the restaurant each morning and the service by our waiters was amazing , the food was high quality and fresh. Could not take a single mark off from our stay. Would definetely stay here again.
P. M.
Really nice place. Wouldn’t call it 5 star hotel though. The room was perfect and large. But the bathroom wasn’t great. You have to sit on the toilet at an angle as the toilet roll holder is right beside where your legs go. Additionally the shower was bad. Low pressure takes ages to get temp right and really loud noise when showering.
D. m.
Absolutely happy with the welcoming and staff service. 5 stars
Room could be a slightly more clean but overall great place. 4 stars
Then.. let’s talk about the buffet 2 stars..
We are in 2021 how possible, we still struggle have a decent vegan/vegetarian options?
Pay $46 dollar to eat a cheaper bread, some low quality peanut butter, a few mushrooms and a has brown...
Feels like a scum to me.
At least have some efforts and add some tofu.. a few dumplings dose not contain eggs or meat..
Pancakes.. or something to give a bit of fun to this boring classic buffe?.
I. W.
Fabulous high tea. Lovely food, great service
B.
Stayed here for 8 nights, great location with lots of great cafes, restaurants and stores nearby. Within the free tram zone too! Staff were extremely friendly especially with room service. Stayed on the 16th floor so it wasn’t the best view but I’m sure you could ask for another room. Nice clean rooms with a double bed and tv for your late night movies. Great bathroom with complimentary soap, shampoo, toothbrush, razor, Etc. lots of facilities like pool, spa, sauna and gym. Breakfast buffet at the hotel was fresh and cooked exactly how you want it. If you’re living in Melbourne or never been to Melbourne and would like a luxury hotel I’d say this would be it.
A. T.
This Hotel has been a favourite for years.
The Hotel decor is somewhat bit dated as well as the room not being thoroughly cleaned. The upside is that it has lovely and friendly accommodating staff who are always trying to help.
S. V.
Really nice and wonderful place , awesome attention and commodities.
H. M.
Only used the weekend car parking, not the hotel itself, but it was clean, easy to find, affordable and great accessibility for where we were heading for the day.
T. Z.
Fantastic hotel with discrete Russell st entrance. Very polite staff and friendly to accommodate any requests. Suites are lovely and beautifully maintained.
L. T.
Absolutely blown away by the excellent service here, Phuong was exceptionally attentive and willing to go above and beyond to assist me with my many queries. I was definitely more demanding than the average customer, but I was always assisted happily by Phuong. She was genuinely warm, very accommodating and a true asset to this hotel.
We were greeted downstairs by the lovely Jimmy, who was so incredibly kind and welcoming. What an amazing ambassador of your hotel.
I would also like to mention Micheal, the gentleman who delivered our room service, he was the cherry on top of our beautiful morning. So warm and friendly and genuinely concerned about delivering an exceptional level of service. I enjoyed meeting him and look forward to seeing him again on my next visit!
Thank you for a lovely stay!

Fabulous hotel. We've stayed here twice for CBD stay cations. Can't fault the in-room service and menu at all, all the staff are superb. Great views of the city and river. Perfectly located in the heart of the city and the best shops and restaurants. And great prices despite the above. Highly recommended!
N. P.
Love this place, beautiful CBD luxury hotel.
t. d.
Even during these covid19 pandemic restrictions travelling within your state is giving us the opportunity to see what's in our own backyard. Here you'll find family friendly service, beautiful rooms , staff are super friendly and helpful, the food is beautiful and when you step outside your in the heart of high end shopping. Or a tram stop away from the CBD centre. A perfect weekday/ weekend getaway from the kids , a great romantic stay or make it a girls weekend with glitz and glamour. Spoil yourself at the Grand Hyatt . You won't regret it .
k. k.
Rooms are small , don’t bother ordering room service after 8pm staff aren’t interested , they don’t sell milkshakes ( we had one earlier in their restaurant down stairs ) an hour for a fruit salad that didn’t have to be cooked! And don’t ask for hot milk as it will be cold! Staff were all unhelpful except for jimmy the doorman! Wouldn’t stay there again and won’t recommend it! Very dissatisfied for our mother daughter 2 night mini vacation!
P. b.
It's always a pleasure staying here, staff are helpful and very friendly.
Rooms always clean, room service is fast.
If any problem arises they are quick to rectify the issue.
T. B.
Only reviewing the restaurant, not the hotel rooms as we did not stay here. Service was exceptional as you’d expect from a premium hotel, as was the food, we had the steak, vegetables, chips and chocolate tart for dessert. Steak was cooked to perfection for medium rare. But the decor here may not be to everyone’s taste and there are better/trendier places for this price level.
S. P. J. C.
Finest 2 nights experience in Melbourne staying in Spa king room river view. Exceptional guest service. Breakfast buffet is worth the price ($45) however I would believe it is slightly less varieties due to the start of recovery from covid.
J. K.
We received good service from the staff in all areas. Unfortunately the room was not cleaned very well upon check in and the toiletries/coffee supplies etc not replenished over night. Bathroom light flickering. It generally feels like the Hyatt has slipped in quality and standards. I wouldn’t stay again, I’ve stayed in many nicer places than this with lower star ratings.
T. D.
Stayed at the Hyatt for NYE 2020 and an extra couple days, The plan was only to stay the one night but due to the absolutely amazing treatment by the staff, the opulence, amazing dining and cocktails me and my partner decided on staying for an extra day. Absolutely no regrets, Every aingle staff member makes you feel so welcome and cared for, never an issue with any request and will genuinely go the extra mile to keep you happy. We were offered an amazing rate on the room for the extra night and we spent new years in the bar with other guests and the bar staff. We loved it so much we have become members and will be making the trip every few months to stay and enjoy the hotel. Looking forward to our next visit for valentines day
H. V.
A really nice stay at this hotel in the CBD. Easy walk to everything or easy access to trams on Collins or Flinders St. Rooms were clean and while not huge, there was plenty of space. Only negative are the beds were on the soft side and any movement is felt throughout the bed, also the pillows were too soft and just sink so I had to use 2 pillows to support my head. The hotel has a full gym and fitness club, which is open to public, but hotel guests have full access. The pool while was a little small, it was still enjoyable. There was also a spa pool, a plunge pool and also steam and sauna rooms. I also had valet parking included with my stay which I did use which was very handy since street parking can be difficult or expensive in the city. Overall a good stay and definitely recommended!
S. G. B.
Brilliant rooms with excellent views, on 30th floor.
C. D.
I was disappointed. Room service very difficult to contact and when placed order for breakfast it was not documented nor did they have a record of me placing the order. I even made it the evening before to ensure that it was confirmed, which it was. At least that is what I thought. Had to ring room service after waiting for 30 minutes for breakfast to arrive, which took several attempts to get through only to find they did not have a breakfast order for our room. Management offered a free breakfast in dining room or room to compensate for the inconvenience, unfortunately not able to take them up on the offer as we had wasted 45 minutes trying to sort through everything and we had run out of time. They did, as an apology, not charge us for a light dinner we had on arrival, which was something. Took the shine out of our Christmas getaway.
Room was nice with lovely views of the river.
P. F.
Relaxing stay, friendly staff, beautiful views, delicious food, amazing room, very comfortable bed, excellent service.
B. F.
I love coming to the hotel. It's a beautiful building, pretty good staff, most are friendly & helpful! Food and alcohol aren't toooo expensive but depends on your budget.
S. O.
Loved It! Great location close to fantastic restaurants, bars and cafes.
A. S.
I've stayed at the Hyatt a few times over the years and I'm never disappointed. The service is exceptional, the rooms immaculate and breakfast is device. It was an obvious choice for New Year's Eve with my fiance. The Hyatt will always be my first choice in CBD Melbourne.
強.
Stayed to celebrate a birthday. Staff went out of their way to make it special
L. S.
We spent seven nights at this beautiful hotel from December 12 to December 19. We had a room at the Concierge Level, which meant we had use of the Concierge Club and all of its benefits. To be honest, I can find no fault with this hotel. Staff went beyond expectations to help with our requests. The food was
great, the drinks plentiful and we couldn't be happier. We would not hesitate to stay here again. We love Hyatt.
A. H.
Pros: Great variety of buffet breakfast food options, great cocktails and ambience in Ruco bar, and very convenient location.
Cons: Food in bain-marie were cold during buffet breakfast, and poor shower hose pressure.
E. H.
I was able to walk to almost everywhere I wanted to go. It’s super close to the river which has great running paths. There is also tons of fancy shopping nearby. The WiFi was fast and it was about a 30 minute drive from the airport. I had a wonderful stay here! I arrived and check in was easy and quick with a friendly staff member. The lobby is beautiful and spacious and smelled so nice of fresh flowers!! I went up to my room which was on a high floor with nice views of the city. My room was huge, clean and quiet!! The hotel itself is in a great location. I would stay here again!
T. C.
Great location, comfortable room, friendly staff. The takeaway coffee downstairs with a great barista is very good to take upstairs after our long morning walks, great gym too
S. M.
Went for dinner new year's eve with friends, food was tasty, however dining experience and ambience, not so Grand, seating, the long seats sunk down, we had to sit on the cushions to reach the table comfortably to eat how food, they say you eat with your eyes, when the food came out it was a confusing mess, we ordered salmon with rice and vegies, it all came out on separate plates, what the hell! Salmon on a plate, rice on another plate and vegies on another plate, ridiculous. The food came out on these ugly blue pottery plates , tables no table clothes dark wood tables shabby, cutlery also so old shabby not in a grand good way. The only saving grace, was the staff, happy and did a wonderful job taking care of us that evening, probably time for a makeover in your dining area, and please food tasty but try and co-ordinate more cohesively as one meal.
If your looking for grand dining experience that's not the place by my experience.
M. R.
I’m fortunate to frequently stay at Grand Hyatt’s for work and in my opinion this one falls short to the high standard set by the others across Asia.
On the positive, the service is excellent throughout the entire hotel and the breakfast offering is one of the better ones.
The standard rooms are of a decent size but the decor is beginning to age.
Where this is was let down to me considerably was the noise from adjacent rooms and in the hall way. It wasn’t that people were particularly loud, it’s just seemed that walls, ceiling etc were paper thin. Quality of sleep is imperative to me so personally I’ll be looking elsewhere next time.

Lovely room and exceptional stuff, the cleanliness is average especially in the pool area.
K. B.
The experience at that Grand Hyatt was excellent. Every staff member my family came into contact with were more than accommodating and beautiful people.
J. G.
Very nice hotel and spacious corner room with a spa. Only downside was being charged $8 to get plates and cutlery for our eat in dinner
B. B.
It's a nice hotel. Comfortable rooms. Well maintained property. Good size rooms n bathrooms. Not so much of a view fm some rooms though.
Buffet breakfast are good. Varieties of food served to suit every palate. Fruits/yogurts/pastries/meats/eggs/porridge/ to breads . Juices tea coffee. Different types of milk.
Serving Staff is alert .

The view from our room was not that beautiful as described by its website but we enjoyed staying there. Friendly stuff, clean environment and lovely layout. Whenever we came back from sightseeing, nice scents from the lobby welcomed us.
B. H.
The reception, staff, bar and buffet at the Grand Hyatt is first class. Having stayed at the Park Hyatt I found their room on the smaller side, but their food and atmosphere is great. I've thoroughly enjoyed my stays here over the years.
s. j.
Great hotel and outstanding service.
We were staying at another hotel which we were really unhappy about and decided to check out of that one and check in to Grand Hyatt. It was the best decision we made that day.
The duty manager was so helpfully and accommodating. Did his best to get us in a nice room and made sure that we were looked after. Made our trip more relaxed and we enjoyed yourself more.
The bar is amazing. Great cocktails and the food was fresh and tasty. Buffet breakfast is a must when you're staying here. It's the best one I've been to.
Highly recommend staying here. Looking forward to going back.
Y. B.
Ridiculous parking system but hotel service was awesome.
C. T.
Room wasn’t clean, there was smear marks on walls and on top of the bed head. My partner and I have been looking forward to time away since being in Lockdown due to covid. Also check in too long in the queue. Also to check out we were half an hour early and had to wait in line for 20 mins and there was only one staff member. Then the staff didn’t even apologise for the wait or anything. I have never written a review but this isn’t good enough.
B. C.
We stayed at the Grand Hyatt for just under a week. We recieved an upgrade to the Deluxe King Room. We could not fault staff on check in who were very helpful. The decor was traditional and very slightly dated in places but it added to the effect of the room. The bathroom was nice with a large bathtub and lots of light. Our room was fairly spacious for two people and which included seats and tables to eat at for room service. The view was pleasant too.
We had a breakfast at the hotel twice which was slightly pricey but worth it with the vast range of things available.
Overall the stay was very pleasant, the lobby was very grand and had a luxury feel and staff were pleasant. I’d stay here again.
M. B.
Booked High Tea for my daughter's birthday and was suitably impressed with the inital booking process, the friendly and professional service on the day, and the deliciously tasty food. All food allergies we requested were extremely well catered for with the minimum of fuss. It was all simply fabulous and I would not hesitate to book another High Tea experience in the future.
N. P.
Had a great stay here. The rooms were great and service good.
A. T.
I had a wonderful weekend away with my wife & the grand hyatt was the perfect place to stay. Great location great staff & great room..
A. G. U.
Beautiful clean hotel. Amazing staff service. Staff were genuinely friendly and very helpful. Best client service I have experienced at a hotel. Plus great food at buffet breakfast with lots of variety.
P. P.
Was here for a conference summit. The facilities were mostly good but the chairs were hard to sit in for an entire day. Needs more comfortable chairs. Sound was good although we could hear what was happening on a break out room from the main room. Food was excellent. Staff were excellent. The place is very opulent well deserving of the Grand Hyatt brand. Toilets were spotless and odor free and we're kept clean all day.
D. T.
Beautiful hotel, great customer service and close by to everything. Had a wonderful stay, and definitely staying here again!
J. O.
Great experience. Would recommend.
C. C.
Stayed here for 6 nights: rooms are not very sound-proof for a 5 star hotel and housekeeping can be inconsistent (sometimes they forget to give you water, or the pillows don’t have their pillow cases on, or the trash cans are not emptied).
BUT: service from all the staff and especially concierge (Violet and others), Jimmy, Nelly have made our stay a wonderful one. Concierge is very responsive and helpful in making reservations.
Rooms are big, spacious and well appointed. Gym is awesome!!
Y. L.
4.5 stars. Excellent location. Everything is within vicinity but yet away from the bustling downtown. Lovely & sweet lady cook (in spectacles) at the club lounge. Love her scrambled eggs. You can tell she takes pride in her job. 0.5stars because bed + duvet are quite worn out. The door slams really loudly as well and it doesn't help that the walls are quite thin.
Excellent hotel overall and we enjoyed our stay. Will stay there again and again!
J.
Amazing night ,Thank you so much to all the staff members -Grand Hyatt on Collins. Outstanding service. Restaurant and Bar department .l highly recommend this gorgeous place .Beautiful memories for my Son's 21 st birthday .l definitely will return.
X. L. B.
Beautiful. The rooms are great. Bedding where it should be. The best is the restaurant. Seriously epic.
T. M.
conveniently located classy hotel with well-trained, high hospitality staff. enjoyed 3-night stay at the club floor, loved the cozy club lounge. house keeping was not really perfect, which made 4 stars instead of 5.
N. T.
The hotel is superb in terms of luxury, view and service. It has a spectacular view from inside and has very big halls for functions, events and dinner. I attended one of the event hosted here and it was excellent. The service was impeccable, the food was delicious and the staff service excellent.
v. n.
Clean and tidy.. I hope the house keeping were more proactive though. By the time the clean the room it’s well past two in the afternoon ..

We had the pleasure of staying at the Grand Hyatt in a Diplomatic Suite last night. I must say, we were really blown away with this gorgeous room. A particular mention to James for looking after us and making our 10th wedding anniversary, all the more memorable. Fantastic room, fantastic breakfast and fantastic service! Thank you so much!! We can not wait until our next stay.
J. L.
Friendly welcome from the door staff. Like coming home.
Check in was quick and easy.
Lift was a bit tricky to work out.
Room was spacious, with fantastic view of river and surrounding are. We were on 27th floor.
Two night stay.
Food in L2 restaurant (day menu) was excellent.
Gym was busy in evenings with classes running.
All in all a very enjoyable couple of days.
S. K.
Beautiful, nice rooms, the bar staff are good. Nice function space also.
A. T.
It's classy,
love the ambience, people (99% of them were genuinely nice people, or at least gave me that impression) and place.
Breakfast buffet is provided, and will satisfy you more than enough with their selection of savory and cereal breakfast, complete with ranges of juices and fruits.
Foods are delicious, and might be even tailored to your need at special price. ($$$)
I was given room at lvl 29, so the view outside was magnificent, especially during the night, where most places were well lit. It's mesmerising.
Fitness facilities, pool, dry - and steam sauna are available for guests.
The location is quite central, which makes traveling easy.
P. G.
It was a wonderful experience staying in Grand Hyatt Melbourne. The bar and restaurant in the hotel were enthralling. The breakfast I had there was really tasty. I must say they have got an amazing chef. The room service was also impressive. I highly recommend this hotel to all.
K. K.
Hotel is lovely. Would be nice if they included memory foam pillows as those pillows are too soft for sleeping on. The bed is amazing though. Marble bathrooms. Great service. The restaurant wine serving though is such a small portion compared to the cost.
M. S.
Huge, well designed, very clean suites with great bathrooms (toddler loved the huge bath). Rooms are quiet, with excellent block out blinds for keeping the outside light out. All staff were very friendly and helpful. Great views from the rooms. Any room service food we ordered was great, very prompt and serving sizes were generous, even on the kids menu. The room service coffee was really good, far better than would usually be expected. Lots of great dining options onsite too. Husband loved the Burn City pop up that was there during our stay. Loved the pool area.
J. M.
My partner booked this for us a surprise for a couple of nights in the city and we had an awesome time. The room was really nicely appointed and the bed was incredibly comfortable. They even upgraded our room. Had a great time here. Will do it again!!!
N. S.
I had a very pleasant stay as part of a club member. The rooms are clean and very well maintained.
Customer service is very good. Polite and very accommodating.
The club lounge has a very good variety of complimentary alcohol and canapes. All day tea and coffee service.
It is in the most central location close to everything in the CBD and has very good restaurants and bars in the hotel.
The best fitness centre with everything you could ask for.
I very much enjoyed my stay.

The ambience is just great. Perfect place to settle in if you are on a business trip. The breakfast buffet has lot many options. Although I restricted myself to cereals and fruits, still I think a lot of options were there for me to explore. Loved the dinning area. My room was spick and span. The hotel staff at the front desk were very warm. The flinders and swanston streets nearby are quite lively and worth multiple visits.
I overall enjoyed my stay here.

This is an upmarket hotel with a great gym, beautiful lobby and breakfast, nicely appointed rooms. Unfortunately it is all unravelled due to sheer amount of noise in the rooms. The plumbing is crazy loud when others are having a shower. Lots of clicks and bangs when people are walking around. If you want a good night's sleep try somewhere else.
R. D.
Consistently a wonderful experience GH, our wedding, our anniversaries, city weekend getaways - no matter what the occasion has been over the last 6 years, you have always made us feel very welcome.
We have stayed with all your competitors in Melbourne and can confidently say that you are leaps and bounds ahead of them.
Well done and thank you for your focus on people and service. Excited to see you take it to the next level for our next visit :)
P. S.
Fantastic location in the city. The lobby is quite dark but still nice. The gym is great.

First time staying at the Grand Hyatt in Melbourne and it was superb. We managed to get a deal on an external hotel site, otherwise we couldn't afford to stay here given the normal rack rate. Great location, rooms were immaculate and it was within walking distance of all Melbourne's best sites. Highly recommend.
C. M.
Great location. The room was nice, not a great view though. I had a shower before we headed out for dinner - the pipes in the shower made a horrible high pitched noise. I complained to the hotel and they moved us to a better room with a better view. The manager was apologetic. Overall the stay was very good.
K. S.
Close to shopping & restaurants, short walk to river & theatres. Hotel is a sanctuary when you need peace & quiet from the City. It has a friendly & helpful staff, restaurant and the best gym facilities we've experienced at any motel. Room has a functional layout, block out blinds, good size bathroom with sep shower, bath & ladies will love the makeup mirror. Morning papers & great views across the city/ river areas.

Location was perfect, reception was pleasant.
Room was initially clean, spacious with all the necessary amenities. Really liked the large bathroom.
Breakfast was something I was slightly disappointed by - one of older lady server was very rude, told us there is no table water and we have to self-service when I could later see there were table waters available. ?racism. Variety was limited, although, compared to intercon Sydney there was a good mix of everything but if you compare to international standards, still lot to catch up.
The most disappointing thing was our room was only half serviced and I thought it was a JOKE (please see attached photo). I did mention it to staff during check out but did not receive any other feedback.
P. C.
My stay at this hotel was for two nights and I thoroughly enjoyed it. The checkin process was smooth and quick and the staff were quite friendly. The room assigned to me was comfortable and spacious with a striking view of the city. The facilities in the room were adequate and quite well thought through. The customisation for our event was also very nicely done. I didn’t quite have any meals there so can’t comment on the food and service. The checkout process was also quite smooth and quick.

Natasha was an outstanding waitress with her service and friendliness. Despite that, she had no control on the time it took for our food to come out. My pasta was undercooked and my wife's dish was a disappointment and not worth the money we paid. The ambiance was good and the staff were attentive.
K. J.
We have our work Gala Ball here Evey year for the past 4 years and it is always a great time.
The staff are so friendly and helpful, especially the guys on valet parking.
The rooms are always very clean and the breakfast is great.
See you again next year :)
K. H.
Well appointed hotel. What you would expect from The grand Hyatt chain. Staff were friendly without being pretentious. Fabulous location. The rooms were well appointed, quiet and the bed was extremely comfortable.
The breakfast was outstanding. Numerous choices and all fresh.
S. A.
Great hotel. Top notch, but unfortunately the walls are very thin and the noise travels from other customers or the staff. It's in a great location and has great views. The gym that you can uses is an actual gym and a good gym at that.
2. G.
Really miss this grand hotel! Excellent services and great staff, very professional and polite. Walked in and was greeted by lovely employees. Rooms are of exceptional standards and very clean and luxurious. Wonderful breakfast and dinner buffets and I could just sit there and eat all day. Nice open views to the city and easy access to transport. Highly recommend staying here, it’s well worth your money.
T. M.
From start to finish, our stay for our 15th anniversary was delightful. Rooms were super loud thou so dont expect a sleep in. We stayed on the Club floor this time and found that it is well worth the little extra. Every hotel employee I dealt with was literally perfect.
J. W.
Great service, and a lovely night stay.
M. S.
What can I say, we celebrated our wedding here with 160 of our nearest and dearest and what a night. The attention to detail, the staff and the food, OMG, the food was on point, perfectly executed and delicious.
Since then we've been back for Birthdays, Anniversaries, Other People's weddings, or just a quick bite on our way home from work. Every time we're made to feel welcome and the food is consistently superb. We enjoy the window tables the most, quiet, private with a great view of the goings on below.

They just do things right at the Hyatt. Staff are attentive but not in your face, service impecable. Stayed on executive floor and used lounge for breakfast and drinks/ nibbles in evening. Both presented with good food and variety. Staff even sent bottle of wine for anniversary up to room. Well done Hyatt
M. L.
A really great place to stay, Sean behind the front desk is super helpful, my only concern is the pressure on the hot water taps has decreased, it is very difficult to fill a bath or spa with such limited hot water available. All else outweighs this. Frequent stayer.
J. L.
Came here for a few drinks and a quick bite before the tennis. The decor is fantastic and the bar is very nice and intimate - a great place for a night cap after dinner or somewhere to go for a date as it's not too loud for proper conversation. Service is top notch and I will have to try the buffet next time as it looks pretty good!
M. H.
Thoroughly enjoyed the Sunday brunch buffet. Nice spread, quality food and not as busy as the other two prominent buffet restaurants in Melbourne. Awesome! The staff who processed my payment was rather abrupt, the only criticism.
C. S.
Stayed here for our Silver Wedding Anniversary. Absolutely delightful stay. Stunning views from our room out over the Yarra and to the sea. Great facilities - being able to dip in the pool and spa after a long day of walking was so relaxing. The room was tidy, spacious and elegant, and all the staff were friendly and helpful.
M. C.
Very comfortable rooms and incredibly nice staff. Truly five star. Also I cannot recommend the buffet breakfast enough. An amazing array of delicious fresh food.
A. S.
OUR FIRST VISIT & can't want to come back! I stayed with my hubbie last week, it was his b'day, the staff arranged for a bottle of champagne, cake & chocolates for him in the room which was so lovely of them & certainly not expected but so so lovely! Thank you! Loved their customer service, we enjoyed the bath in the room & the location of the hotel is great, we loved walking around the city which was buzzing with people! Great restaurant recommendation in the magazine in the room which was for Annam on Little Bourke St, we loved the atmosphere & the food was excellent. We also enjoyed the gym & pool the next day, thank you so much, we look forward to coming back, Anthea xx
A. J.
Spacious & comfortable, good food & attentive, friendly staff. Was attending a full-day conference, room was serviced at every break, replenishing water, mints etc. Everything ran to time. An enjoyable day.
B. E. S. C.
5 star hotel with great customer service. Clean and peaceful. Invite my family to stay here. No trouble during their stay. Very convenient walk to Flinders street and Chinatown. Thanks
A. C.
They just do things right at the Hyatt. Staff are attentive but not in your face, service impecable. Stayed on executive floor and used lounge for breakfast and drinks/ nibbles in evening. Both presented with good food and variety. Staff even sent bottle of wine for anniversary up to room. Well done Hyatt

great location. well appointed rooms. friendly service. amazing breakfast buffet provides everything your heart may desire...if it weren't for the long lines, the fights over a piece of bread. reminds me of a Soviet supermarket...
and if you like coffee in the morning, plan for a 15-20 min wait each time.
S. G.
Great hotel with friendly and welcoming staff. Amazing service with making it a special occasion with my fiance 22nd Birthday.
T. G.
Love the Grand Hyatt. Very comfy rooms amd beds. Great gym and amazing club lounge on L32 which offers breakfast and canapes and drinks. Definitely good service and great value, especially if you are travelling as a couple and have time to work out in the morning and have drinks in the evening. Pay the extra $90 and book a club room.
t. s.
Rooms are great we had a deluxe king, that was spacious and comfy. The AC is soft and worked really well. The amenities available was unbelievable with the option to borrow or purchase anything you might have forgotten like an Aussie hair curling iron, steamer, etc. The staff wasn't overly friendly which is okay. It is close to a ton of things in the city, however don't use Uber eats here they don't deliver to the lobby.
J. A.
I attended a work dinner at level 8. The dinner service and food quality was excellent. The hotel staff was very helpful and attentive to our request. It was a great experience and I would host in thie venues in the future
D. D. D. (.
Trendy, modern, energy-efficient decor. The moment I stepped into the lobby, I knew I would be amazed. Best luxury hotel fitness center ever. It's in the city so you may have a view of a high rise across the street. I was on the 14th floor and had a less than stellar view. Staff was super pleasant. Super clean facility. Breakfast buffet was amazing. I couldn’t think of any breakfast item that was missing. Wish my stay were longer.
T. E.
Great location and decent rooms, however let down by a restaurant with disappointing second rate food and poor coffee, considering it's location in inner city Melbourne.
J. F.
Very nice, upscale hotel. Not cheap, but very accommodating Amazing city views from the upper floors. They have quite the amazing breakfast buffet in the restaurant. If you can get this as part of the room rate I would highly recommend it. Onsite parking is very handy in is very busy and densely packed City.
K. L.
Having stay at this venue multiple times, there is a reason why I keep coming back. The staff, the room, the facilities, the location - everything about this place is incredible. Look forward to returning to GH soon. Happily recommend this hotel to friends and family!
S. 2.
Very nice hotel. Location is great especially if going to see sports or concert at Melbourne park. Club lounge was good but some of the food was almost too healthy. The club lounge had a poor selection of whiskey but had gin and Chandon.
T. M.
In the meantime staff were happy to chat among themselves and ignore customers. The room was peaceful and comfortable. After a week of trying, the bank cleared the authorisations and I told the hotel to go ahead with the real charge. Overall: I think this hotel is worth its money and continues to improve itself.
P. D.
Clean, quiet and central. For any business traveler these are the table stakes. Also, excellent buffet on the weekends to unwind after a long flight. The gym is excellent and make sure to book with the staff to attend their workout sessions. Nothing like peer pressure to get you out of bed at 5:30am for a workout.
M. F. L.
Cant get enough of this building's unique and vast interior configurations not to mention exceptional service and accomodation delivery..Only four stars because it always leaves me wanting to go back more.
N. N.
Great location, lovely staff, rooms nice and clean. Beds are SOOOOO comfortable. One of the best sleeps I've had in a while. Breakfast is a must. One of the best breakfast buffets in Melbourne. Have been there multiple times and will go again.
T. M.
A waitress quickly appeared and took our order. We've stayed at multiple hyatt hotels/resorts and are accustomed to friendlier service. The fitness center had nice equipment. Great location in the heart of Uniion Square. Weekday rate was much higher than weekend rate, so it was overpriced then okay in terms of value.
C. M.
We loved everything about our stay, staff was friendly and helpful. Water pressure in the shower was good. Bath could be bigger. View was food. Breakfast was fantastic. Beautiful and comfortable room.
M. F.
Great hotel in Collins Street Melbourne. We stayed on the 26th floor with a view of the Yarra River.
Highly recommended taking the package that includes vallet parking otherwise parking will cost you $60 per day as of 2020. The drop off and valet parking are located on Russell Street.
A cheaper option for parking is the adjacent Secure parking for $15 a day on weekends and public holidays or there is parking directly opposite the Russell Street entrance to the Grand Hyatt for $13 a day weekends and public holidays.
Also recommend the package that includes drinks and food on the 31st floor for two hours from 6.00 pm to 8.00 pm.
The food was plentiful, the beer was cold and the wine was good quality. Top shelf spirits were also available. Get up there when it opens at 6.00 pm as seats get hard to get by 6.30 pm.
They regularly replenished the food. The pate was the best I have had since visiting Spain. Eating the pate took me straight back there.
This package also included breakfast on the 31st floor. The breakfast was good. It was a buffet breakfast with scrambled eggs, eggs done different ways, or anything else for that matter, were available by asking one of the numerous wait staff. There was plenty of salmon and mushrooms. The bacon was streaky which is not my favourite type, but there was plenty of choice for breakfast juices and cereals.
Our package also included a 4.00 pm checkout.

A five star experience down to the very last grain of detail. The main point of difference I felt was that it was as if the many service personnel was one single person. I never had to reexplain, the staff just knew what was happening next. Odd as it may be, it made the stay feel overall very comfortable.
S. M.
Wonderful experience here! Great customer service from Indya at the front desk. She recommended great wineries and restaurants close by and was just all round really lovely. Would definitely return!
T. M.
We stayed there for about four days and must say it was a great hotel room. The hotel itself is a bit weird but really beautiful in its own way, just don't expect cozy but it's perfect for any corporate stay in Melbourne . The room, though, is where it's at - the bed is fantastic, the linens great and the shower too. High quality option for sure.
R. J.
Great hotel in Melbourne. Staff and service are the best in the world! Food is magnificent. The best location! The Grand Club staff here is the best! Always make you feel at home. Ive always enjoyed my stay here and keep coming back. If its possible to take a hotel with you in your travels this will be the hotel for me. Thank you Grand Hyatt Melbourne for always making my stay very enjoyable.
E. J.
Best location, Best service, Rooms are spacious lobby is very big, there all day dining restaurant Collins Kitchen serves a best buffet breakfast, very much near to the Flinders Station.
Staff is very courteous and helpful, prompt and always smiling.
B. Y.
The room is clean and comfortable with all the amenities.
The breakfast buffet is very good with selections from Continential to Asian food choices.
The Hotel offers once a week Hi-tea at two different timing 1pm-3pm and 3:30pm-5:30pm. The food is satisfactory. However I am not too happy with the Hi -Tea service.
J. b.
I stayed in one of the normal rooms with a queen bed and it was very luxurious. I got room service just after midnight and it arrived in 15 minutes which I found impressive. My only gripe was there was no fan in the bathroom and no windows, so I just had to shut the door to stop any steam from the shower.
A. H.
Rooms are clean and well maintained. Staff went above and beyond. Plus I enjoyed a nice surprise for Father's Day. Great hotel!
G. R.
Lobby excellent. Rooms a bit dated. Hotel not bad overall. Try getting a room at the Westin first if you can (Rooms have nicer ambience and lighting). If you cannot, the Grand Hyatt will do.
C. P.
We really enjoyed this beautiful hotel. The staff was professional, friendly and helpful. As a Globalist we enjoyed the wonderful lounge and were especially pleased with the evening canapes which were better than the norm. There are so many dining options in Melbourne we did not get to try the restaurants but if the lounge is any indication of the quality I would not hesitate to try them. The room was large, and beautiful with fantastic views! The one issue we had was that we were near the elevators and could hear them going up and down all night and sometimes the noise from the lounge (or possibly just the hallway) was disturbing. Another time I would ask to be moved but we had already unpacked and didn't want to make the move.
T. T.
Had the most amazing high tea for my Mums birthday, we were served by Mary and James and they went above and beyond to make our afternoon amazing. Thank you so much to the team at Collins Kitchen we will be telling all of our friends and family who come to visit Melbourne to visit the Grand Hyatt and enjoy the high tea experience. Thank you again Mary for being so nice to us and really looking after my mum this will be a birthday so won’t forget!!
E. W.
Wonderful place to stay, rooms are big and well appointed, the bed very comfy. Amazing health club and the staff were very helpful and accommodating.. Would highly recommend also stopping off for a cocktail at the bar!
P. C.
Met with overseas clients in the lobby and proceeded to have a several hours meeting. Selections of teas and coffee were excellent and the service was attentive without being intrusive. Previous stays have also been excellent. Warmly recommend.
S. H.
We stay here at least once a year as a family so it's a real bonus that they have adjoining rooms. Surprisingly not to many hotels do these days. As always the service from the minute we pulled up to the minute we got back in the car was second to none. We also enjoyed a fantastic breakfast, actually it's one of the real bonuses of staying here. Hope we can be back soon.

We got married at the Grand Hyatt a year ago (August 2018) which went seamlessly. We have come back to celebrate our 1 year anniversary, once again they have not let us down. The service here is second to none, I would like to especially thank you David (front desk) for making our stay such an amazing experience, David had taken the time to touch base regularly to ensure our stay is nothing less than perfect and a special thanks to Peta Kerr for providing special options for our anniversary.
A. C.
Stayed here for an IT conference, very nice room with great amenities. Central location with many bars and restaurants close by. The conference itself was excellent, slick and well organised a credit to everyone involved
w.
The wait staff were fantastic, friendly and very efficient. The food was tasty although a bit pretentious for my taste. I was attending a luncheon in the Mayfair Ballroom and was disappointed in the directions to the room. There was another event on the same floor which was clearly marked. The ballroom itself was poorly set out so that some seats did not have a visual line to the guest speaker. This was not just a case of an obstructed view, I was unable to see the guest speaker at all. I was also surprised at how plain the room was, perhaps my expectations were too high, however the room was quite banal
H. B.
Beautiful hotel, room is great, but Maddy at the front desk was spectacular. She was so kind and helpful with information about the best places to go in the city, how to get around, and what's going on in town. Could not have asked for a more friendly or helpful check in experience. And I'm pretty pick and critical when it comes to these things, I'm not easily impressed. In a day an age when the art of customer service seems to be a lost one, I wanted to make sure an recognize Maddy for rising above and making a difference, so thanks!
W. L.
From the moment you enter, it is fancy and makes you feel welcome. The seating at the restaurant is beautiful and the food is delicate and tastes amazing. There was less variety than expected and stayed the same the whole time. Over all it was a great experience but really is only for special occasions!
T. M.
We had great service from as soon as we walked in.
A special mention to robin from front desk who went out his way to make our 1st wedding anniversary special. This is why we always highly recommend the grand Hyatt. Give that guy a free breaky!!
A. S.
Grand Hyatt Melbourne is the place to be. the class the elegance the food the ambience. everything is outstanding and up to the mark.
I was lucky to be invited on Premiers Iftaar dinner. I must say it was very well organized and managed by the staff of grand Hyatt. the ball room is just perfect to arrange events from corporate to weddings
this is a must place for any special events
A. M.
Beautiful hotel in town I was there last weekend on Saturday(20/0102018) for a beautiful wedding and the reception looks mad. The way it was decorated it was amazing. The staffs were very polite and serve us well. The food was so yummy👌👍.
I would recommend this hotel to anyone who visit Melbourne.
J. D. G.
The BLT Roll came as a toasted sandwich which says roll on the menu, and i was really disaapointed, and the fries were frozen fries. It tasted good but was not up to my expectations.
Late was a good coffee!

Amazing hotel. Got upgraded to a suite with just diamond benefits. The room is large. The furnishing is very modern. The club lounge has a great selection. Staff is friendly and helpful. Location is very central
C. B.
Great room but a bit soft on the service and amenities availability.
M. B.
Thanks Grand Hyatt, I had a seamless visit. I really enjoyed your breakfast, it's definitely the best I have had in a long time. The rooms are very nicely designed I would recommend you to my colleagues in future
T. M.
Location, location location wow it was perfect. All services were provided in a most helpful ***or. Housekeeping provided us with special requested items and provide room cleaning on request off schedule. After the very yummy continental breakfast we had a swim in the atmospheric pool. The wifi was non existent.

Dear Kate, Gareth & the greater Grand Hyatt staff in Melbourne,
This is David Gregg & Veronica Marks here,
I’d like to take this opportunity to give my gratitude and thanks for all of your hospitality, flexibility, consideration and care that you have offered to my little family of three on our stay with you on this Easter weekend.
I am not one to really write reviews(positive or negative) however, on this occasion I could not write this sooner.
We were wowed on a number of occasions, first being the friendly, smiling and caring staff upon our arrival. Everything we asked for was provided promptly.
Our strong concerns on a particular matter were met with an immediate response. I was strongly worried and frustrated at one point in our stay, however I was soon surprisingly impressed with all of you, not only by offering something spectacular but I was also impressed by the mental and psychical agility to cater to our concerns!
You have offered us such amazing memories(especially after our own devastating 12 months that we have personally experienced) it was soo nice to turn to David and tell him how happy I am, truely from what you provided for us.
Thank you to all of the Grand Hyatt staff, we wish you well. See you soon.
David & Veronica.

Stayed on the maternity floor, excellent amenities and service, although the room itself was not huge, and once the small bed was wheeled in for our toddler, space was somewhat limited. Food was very good, although the first steak was overcooked (not too overdone, but certainly not medium-rare)
P.S. The second steak was perfect.
S. C.
Impeccable service, luxurious and well appointed room and bathroom. Great central location with tram stop only a few metres away. Excellent breakfast. Helpful and polite staff. Would highly recommend.

We spent a long weekend in San Francisco and this hotel was great. The city view is a real treat to wake up to and lying in bed gazing out of the large windows in the morning is lovely. Hotel room seemed to be very well set up and organized.
S. F. T.
Couldn't ask for anything better. Staff very friendly, the room we were upgraded to was fantastic. I would love to go back for another evening in town again and stay at the Grand Hyatt. Buffet breakfast was superb too!!! Shaun and Jenean

I have stayed at his hotel many times in the past year. The last one took the gong. After receiving a gift for my number of stays I was charged on check out for it. After numerous excuses from the front desk supervisor including this can happen when guests check in early (I checked in after 6 pm) ... I missed a call back from the hotel and rang back 4 times but they have never returned my calls. I have constantly found this hotel lacks the service of a 5 star establishment. Being a regular Hyatt guest I think the rooms are good and some of the staff are excellent but they are let down so often by team members that just don't bother.
E. D.
Well located in the heart of the city. Room was welcoming and bed gave me one of the best sleeps ever. Decor and ambience of hotel was beautiful. Staff was always attentive to our needs. Will stay over again.
S. V.
Beautiful hotel. One of my favorites in Melbourne. Luxury starts with the first step you take in. The personnel is professional and friendly. Also the breakfast buffet is not to be overlooked. There is a range of delicious meals, fruit and deserts. Will definitely recommend!
G. D.
Great hotel and good service. Their breakfast is a must - amazing selection of bread, pastries and eggs. It's a bit on the expensive side at 44 per person but you should get it as part of the room package - I think it will come out cheaper that way. The fruit was amazing and fresh. They also have fresh juices and they can customize per your needs. I asked for a veggie juice and they delivered. Coffee is good as well. The room is big for being in the heart of the city. I had a river view room but the views weren't that impressive to rave about. Bathroom was nice although I hated the shower head (I know I'm not picking now). Location is great. Food alley (center pl and degraves street) are only a couple blocks away. Federation sq is also close by. Tram stops are only a block away. It's in the heart of the upscale shopping district with stores like channel, LV, Gucci etc also close by.
G. E.
I booked the Hyatt expecting something special. It was a pleasant stay but didn't have that wow I was expecting. The view from the 17th floor was pretty good but the room was starting to look a little tired with a few things that didn't work properly i.e. the toilet wouldn't flush unless you held your finger on the buttons, one of telephones was broken/didn't work and my reading light would just stop working only for it to light up again when it was ready. We could also hear a fair bit of noise from the rooms on either side of us. The plumbing was very loud and the guests next door either liked to shower every few hours or had an army staying there. It was a little disappointing but not such an inconvenience as we were there for a long weekend away. I would suspect it would have been a different story if you were there for work. The staff were generally excellent and we received very good service. Nothing was to much trouble so no complaints where the staff were concerned! The location is also a big plus and the Hyatt was central to everything and everywhere we wanted to go so that couldn't be faulted either. We had a good time despite the issues mentioned above.
D. S.
Been to the Grand Hyatt a few times for a few different reasons. Once as a guest in a room, once for a conference, several times for a meeting and on this day I was there to have a champagne breakfast after my hot air balloon flight. Wow.
So this post is about the dining room in the main foyer.
First and foremost, it is most impressive. A large, spacious dining area that caters to everyone. There is a focus on Asian customers here which means there are staff who are multilingual.
The food is segregated into sweet treats (croissants, danishes, small cakes, desserts, crepes and more). Another area is juices, then cereals. There is a good selection of bread and another of fruit. One of my favourite as always is the real breakfast food - bacon, eggs (you can have yours cooked fresh for you), fried tomatoes, baked beans and more. On the other side is noodles, soups, dumplings and more. There certainly is something for everyone here.
Menu is good with lots of choices and portion sizes are good.
I was here with BalloonMan after a hot air balloon flight over Melbourne with my daughter. We had our own small area to ourselves and it was easy to get up and down to grab those culinary delights that we were craving.
I certainly enjoyed the Asian noodles and dumplings. The juices were fabulous with some very unusual types to try out.
Good parking around the area but note the time limits as they are strict on time limits. Wheelchair friendly. Kid friendly.
Staff: superb. Nothing was too much problem and were constantly resupplying the food and ensuring customers were happy.
D. C.
Very impressed, would definitely stay again. Handy location, clean and efficient. Upgrade to larger room for 7 day stay appreciated. Would recommend

I love staying at the Grand Hyatt, the rooms are so comfortable, spacious, well appointed and an excellent location. The restaurant is great for a business meeting or quick bite. One of the reasons I love staying there is the fantastic gym!
A. S.
Fantastic rooms and very caring staff. I arrived after a 33 hour flight from the uk at about 6am, and the receptionist was able to find me a room for a very early checkin so I could get some sleep and enjoy Melbourne later that day. I'll definitely return to this hotel.
I. M.
We popped up from Geelong for the one night for our first wedding anniversary. Our room we booked was beautiful, Robin from the front desk was very helpful and made our stay fantastic. Thank you so much Robin.
I. L.
Wife and I had out wedding there and it is a memory we reminisce on every day. We had strong expectations of the Grand Hyatt and boy did they not only deliver to them, but exceed on every level.
We were probably the over anxious couple who wanted everything organised and ensure all was in place early. Bonnie was particularly good at allaying any concerns we had and ensured all things were in order and everything went without a hitch. They even were able to adjust and accommodate some very unfortunate last minute changes (due to some unexpected health issues with some guests).
The day itself was made magical, thanks to the impeccable service to all guests from all the staff. Alex & Bonnie in particular were standouts. I've had the pleasure of being part of many weddings, including my sister's just 6 months prior and this was at another level entirely. Nothing seemed too difficult and all needs were pre-empted. At the reception, as soon as I thought I needed something, someone was there asking if I needed anything before I even verbalised it. I expected to go hungry despite the gorgeous food but ended up too full as they were generous.
I cannot recommend the Grand Hyatt Melbourne enough as a wedding venue. The best part was that this treatment wasn't only offered to us, but all guests given the feedback we go. Our entire family felt extremely special.
Last but not least, although you won't have time to truly appreciate the fantastic suite they give you, please make time for the breakfast buffer if you've never been. The best hotel buffet ever and we await our next stay there just so we can have breakfast again (as you can't just walk in on weekends unless you're staying overnight).
Thank you Grand Hyatt for making our wedding so memorable. I've tried to make this as succint as possible but it's still clear as day nearly 9 months later!!!
R. V.
Had dinner at the restaurant a few times. The quality of the food is exceptional and for the price, far better than many other food joints. Good ingredients and cooked with a subtle touch. Well worth giving it a shot even if you are not staying there.
V. F.
I surprised my wife for ur a 30th anniversary with a stay at the GrandHyatt. The room had a beautiful view and the room service was very quick and the food was very fresh. The buffet breakfast was the most impressive I've had so far and has a lot of variety. I highly recommend everyone here whether its a short or long stay.

The Grand Hyatt Melbourne is Luxurious hotel with a great dinning experience, breakfasts are amazing, the bar is great and dinners were also good. Staff are friendly and helpful. Hotel is well situated in Melbourne with easy access to all areas of the city. Close to a Tram station if you would like to use public transportation.

Had a high school formal. The venue was very beautiful, albeit the dance floor was a little small for the amount of people it spaced. The service was good, and the workers were easy to help guide and navigate me to the venue room for the formal

We stayed at the Grand Hyatt as part of the Frances Perry House transition program. Wow... What a stay. We loved every minute of it. The staff, food, the views, the rooms... It was all amazing. We will be back for another stay guys!

One of the best hotel in Melbourne. That's why so many important guests of special events always stay here.
They have complete facilities for their guests from business to health needs.
Dine in facility is also 5 stars.

I'm especially thankful to have picked Grand Hyatt during my stay here in Melbourne. It's right in the middle of everything, is in walking distance to all restaurants eateries and shopping, and nearby multiple car rental shops if you're planning to get a car for the day. The rooms are especially comfortable, and the rooms on both sides have gorgeous views - one side facing the city and the other facing the sports halls (with fireworks on special nights). Service is great, right from the on start where we were greeted by the service staff, every single day without fail when we return. All in all a great experience and I'll definitely be back again.

Still a classy hotel in Melbourne's epicentre. Corner rooms grant the bustling Collins Street Russell Street intersection view. L-angle sofa great to watch people on the streets. Room pretty much has everything for a luxury hotel especially the super comfy bed & well stocked fridge. One might argue finesse & modern tech like a larger smart TV with richer content & master room controls were lacking hence the very good rating for this stay.
M. C.
I stayed here about a year ago and it was 5 star all the way, the club suite was lovely, and had a great city view.
With onsite parking and in a great location of Collins Street, is near all the high end shopping brands, and also great bars and restaurants as well.
The staff are so friendly and give the best service possible to make every guest feel important.
Great for a special night or weekend away, or a fun girls luxury weekend.
Room Tip: Treat yourself to a Club Suite

Stayed here as part of the Frances Perry maternity program. Way better than staying in hospital! Staff were very understanding and accommodating. Room service food was great and stay were very quiet in case babies are sleeping.
C. S.
Great, polite welcome. The facilities are awesome. Loved the gym and pool area. The breakfast buffet is also a must have. Rooms very clean and comfortable. Convenient location.

My favourite hotel. Lots of sentimental reasons for this, but in addition to this, the hotel has great amenities, very friendly staff and is in the best location. I would recommend this hotel to anyway wanting to stay in a great location, in luxury, in Melbourne. Thank you Hyatt.
J. H.
Had a great time there... staff were really welcoming and loved playing tennis amongst the skyscrapers on the 9th floor. Great food and room were spacious and very neat. We stayed in a joined room which was more than enough room for a family of 4. Thanks for your terific service to all the staff at the Grand Hyatt Melbourne.

Hotel is great.. But the after hours entrance needs better signage
M. M.
Really nice room with a great view. The food is good as well. My only complaint is the noise from the hallway. There is a terrible echo and the doors close loudly. So you can hear everyone coming and going.
J. L.
Really like it, helpful and friendly staff, their catering is fantastic witj functions and you can't ask for more. Great training of staff team! Btw catering food is fantastic too! I forgot to take photos for other dishes but this strawberries tart is superb!
J. M.
This is the most palatial hotel I have stayed in. The staff are very professional and incredibly friendly. The General Manager does run a fabulous ship so to speak.
R. M.
The most delicious salad on the lunch menu (first floor dining- now I know there’s something this delicious in the city I’ll always opt for it!!
Nuts, broccoli, feta, grains, pomegranate YUM!
**The only sad thing- they won’t make it take away so you have to dine in**

Fantastic hotel in the heart of the CBD. I stayed at the Grand Hyatt for my wedding and I also booked my parents in. We were all delighted with our rooms and they couldn't do enough for us during our stay. They also left me a lovely bottle of champagne in my room for the big day. They replied to all my queries on emails prior to the wedding, so I felt at ease. I am from Melbourne and I am a member of the gym there, I am so comfortable there and it always makes me feel special to go there/stay there. What a great and memorable stay it was. I hope to stay there again for our 1 year anniversary!

Pillows were too soft and bed on wheels rolled around. Had a mishap with important items left in room safe and asked staff to check to see if it was there. They said no it wasn't without checking. Had to go back to hotel personally and asked them to locate items. Housekeeping had not looked in safe after cleaning. Staff basically lied earlier that day saying they looked when they didn't. Otherwise service was good and room was good too.
J. R.
Genuinely service oriented hotel. It's a great long stay hotel, more than 3 days. You end up liking the place not hating it. Great variety of bedrooms, the bed linen used in the standard bedrooms feels rough and cheap, the one in the larger/suit bedrooms feels beautifully. Best view of Melbourne. Great lounge on the 31st floor, great gym. Pool and jacuzzi could be much better and use less chlorine.
M. C.
Had high tea at the Collins Restaurant, on level 2 of the hotel. Venue is conveniently located in the CBD and easily accessible from the main road. Wheelchair friendly. For high tea, guests are served a three tier plates of a variety of items, scones and sparkling drink, based on the number of persons. The scones are soft and fluffy, served with fresh cream and jams. Guests can select the teas of their choice from a menu, unlimited times. There is a good buffet selection of hot items and cakes, fruits, chocolate fountain, etc. Cost is $70 per pax. Service is excellent and staff are very courteous and helpful. Altogether a wonderful experience. Highly recommended.

Hyatt Buffet - Went for their buffet with a few work colleagues. I can highly recommend it. It has excellent fresh seafood ,sashimi , roasts, Asian & European inspired dishes cooked fresh as well as mouth watering desserts. Based on quality of the food and price it is way better than the Conservatory at Crown and on par with the Langham buffet in quality (beats Langham in seafood though), however the Langham has way more on offer (Indian section, make your pasta etc) The Hyatt buffet is only available on a sunday except during the festive season. Enjoy whilst you can!!

The first thing you notice when you walk into the classy lobby is the beautiful scent that permeates the air. Staff are amazing, especially the Executive Assistant Manager Simon, nothing is too much trouble. Rooms spacious and well appointed, room service very good. Best thing about this hotel is there are no building sites right next door like so many other hotels in Melbourne city.
M. B.
The most amazing hotel I have ever stayed in (including international), their standard rooms are better then some premier suites I’ve stayed in, with absolutely stunning views looking over the Yarra river. Their buffet breakfast is also a must- everything is fresh, eggs poached infront of you, chef takes your pancake order - so delicious!!
C. W.
A nice hotel in the heart of Melbourne. It is the second time that I stayed here, a mistake (wrong rooms given) have been quickly resolved. We had a suite which is (obviously) quite spacious and access to the buffet for breakfast and light dinner.
D. “. T.
Classy Inner City Hotel with a grand Ballroom, restaurant and famous cigar shop at the Russell St entrance. I have attended many functions here over the years as a photographer and the ballroom staff are always professional and helpful. The food served is high class and the venue has been updated in recent years going somewhat modern but losing a little of it's earlier charm and when it was once the best ballroom in town it now has many others vying with it for that title.
K. S.
I can't share enough postive words about the amazing team that work here. We stayed for 3 nights after our 2nd daughter was born and we were treated like royalty. Everyone was genuinely happy and helpful. The food was amazing. Our room was comfortable. Most notable, the team's overwhelmingly supportive reaction to our bad experience with a rude uber driver; when bringing our 1st daughter (who has special needs) in to visit on day 2 they made us feel well-cared for and continually checked in to see if we were all ok. Top recommendations. Thank you!
C. W.
Stunning hotel with incredibly helpful staff members. Delicious food and fantastic location. Would love to stay again.
T. W.
Location is close to shopping precincts, local restaurants and anything you may need while in Melbourne. Great service, very accommodating of guest needs. Gym and fitness centre is amazing, fantastic for any level of fitness. Loved my stay!
G. A.
The Grand Hyatt, was a great venue and the staff were increadibly kind and helpful throughout the night. The hotel did extremely well to host a lot of guests and had the perfect amount of staff helping out. I would recommend this hotel for functions as they do it increadibly well.
A.
big room but small bed (we had 2 single bed). room cleaning service not standard. first day no bath soap. day 2 we only got 1 bath towel and day 3 we only got 1 floor towel. but the other things are ok. great view, clean room, fast room service call and helpfull staff.
T. L.
Concierge/Valet staff were definitely 5 Star, Reservations/Front Desk definitely 4.5 Star - Thank you sincerely for your impeccable service and helpful friendly character, you were the saving grace of my visit.
However - Grant Hyatt, Just because a guest takes advantage of a special price or promotion it doesn't mean you should automatically give them one of your lowest standard rooms, in a poor position next to the lifts. This is a crucial decider for many people who may not have stayed with you before as to weather or not they will come back at full price or not - For me I feel not, full price or promotional. One example - open showers, with nothing but a shower curtain to prevent (And fail) water flowing all over a guests bathroom floor - Poor design and functionality, let alone the linen needed to mop up the water so I didn't slip for a second time.
Without question, overpriced even at promotional rates for the room I got.
I.
GREAT LOCATION JUST A FEW MINUTES TO CITY CENTRE
The Grand Hyatt is a luxury hotel with all the services and facilities you'd expect from a five star hotel. Although it's almost in the city centre you still get a sense of tranquility as it ios set back from the street. Great views from higher level rooms.
Good place to hold a work retreat as it has catering, meeting rooms, outdoor area and AV equipment.
T. B.
5 star. I attended a funeral. The staff could not accomodste me enough.
Only one suggestion have a tube of glue at the front desk. Countless times patrons require their heels on their shoes to be fixed usually when you are about to go to a meeting or after hours when you can't access repar shops.
Loved staying there. Very empathetic to me. One of the restaurant staff slipped a condolence card under my door. Very impressed.
A. W.
Nice lobby, polite staff. Was surprised to find at the end of the night that there was no top sheet on the bed. Spent the rest of the night taking the blanket off and on. Walls are a little thin. Was woken up by a neighbouring room having a shower. Any use of a water tap made a loud sound in the walls.
K. D.
I have visited the Grand Hyatt on several occasions and have found the staff helpful, happy and professional at all times. It's in an excellent city location close to all forms of public transport and the rooms are kept to the highest quality.
The manager have always gone above and beyond expectations and the staff follow suit. 10/10.
F. S.
The Grand Hyatt, like the Park Hyatt, are wonderfully elegant hotels with a sumptuous feel. Staff are always friendly and nothing is too much trouble. I especially love the entrance foyer to the Grand Ballroom, even the escalator has interesting sculptural detail. The Grand Hyatt is close to the city centre.
H. T.
Beautiful place, right in center of town. Great service. Room is a bit small but great view of the city's canopy. Room was just big enough for 2 single beds and a sofa. Bathroom is clean and changed daily. Free wifi and has intermittent lost connection. Tv is a small but that's not that important. Mini bar items are bloody expensive. Recommend just eat and replace it yourself, it's a lot cheaper. If you have daily breakfast included then it's great, lots of variety with kitchen services available for such as omelet. It's a five star hotel so its cheap but if you can afford it then it's recommended. Close walking distance to federation square, national art gallery, approx 15-20mins walk.
F. T.
The rooms are fantastic, the service is lovely and you are treated with such a homely feeling. The buffet breakfast is amazing with such a large selection!
K. d. A.
Beautiful hotel. Definitely worth spending extra to have club room. The food put on at night including alcohol meant basically dinner was included. A perfect stay

Grand Hyatt Weddings...
Though we have not gone forward with Grand Hyatt (due to unrelated reasons) I had a wonderful experience planning our wedding with the wedding team including Ellen Lee. They are very flexible, very accommodating and very easy to deal with. I would recommend them any day.
h. J.
I'm too poor to actually afford a room but I just sort of walked in and went up stairs. I got lost. The security eventually found me and they were nice enough to escort me off the premises. Twas definitely a lovely place to be at.
M. W. (.
Warm efficient service from the moment we stepped foot in the hotel. Room was very comfortable and clean, close to all the key attractions and great restaurants. Couldn't ask for more really
L. S.
Lovely stay and great service. Water in the room was little funny. Shower was very touchy and taps hard to adjust, toilet barley flushed and basin tap had 2 settings, off and oh my god why is water going everywhere
T.
Came here for lunch with some friends. The restaurant area was occupied by a "popup" restaurant so we were placed in the lounge to order from Hyatt's normal menu (ate sitting on sofas at a table that was too high to be comfortable).
Ordered the club sandwich which ended up being fairly average. It looked nice and was filling, but didn't taste particularly good, nor particularly bad. Go to Trunk on Exhibition St instead for a great club sandwich.
D. M.
Great place to meet people for business or personal requirements. I have stayed many times in their rooms and find it a pleasure each time. You will enjoy the experience.
L. D.
We had the diplomatic suite on level 31, amazing room with great views. The kitchenette only offered a mini bar fridge and a microwave, and not much crockery or cutlery. We had access to the lounge which had good nibbles and drinks, it was very busy most times we went. We had lovely surprize gifts: cheese, wine, chocolates, fruit and even gingerbread, which were all very nice. The cleaners were very efficient and left the place looking perfect everytime. I did have some issues picking up my brother upon check out, I think the man manning the valet station thought we were uber drivers and ordered us to move our cars elsewhere, which wasn't a plesant experience. The other valets where extremely helpful picking up our numerous pieces of luggage from the room and patient as we tried to load all our luggage into the car. We had a wonderful stay and will likely visit again soon.
M. W.
Hotel was beautiful! Definitely the best hotel in Australia. Its right in the center of Melbourne where everything is within walking distance. I would definitely recommend this hotel! The reason of the 3/5 stars was due to billing and staffing knowledge. Credit card machine was down when I left, was told I'd get a receipt via email, I didn't. Was told that local calling was free by two staff members at the desk (standing together), it wasn't. I had to call to get my receipt and when I did there was a charge for a breakfest that came included in my booking. Overall, not big deals but when using a corporate credit card, its a huge pain to resubmit a expense report. Feedback would be make sure the staff is aware of offerings, and business customers #1 annoyance is incorrect billing on a company card.
M. J.
Upscale hotel in a great location! We were in a Grand Deluxe View room on the 21st floor and the view was grand indeed! Had views of the city and the Yarra river. Room was very clean and quiet, marble bathroom looked amazing and was very spacious. Very impressed with the quality, the price is in the higher side but you definitely get more you pay for. Staff were VERY friendly and accommodating! Buffet breakfast at Collins Kitchen is worth the $42. Would stay again. I recommend the Grand Hyatt to anyone travelling to Melbourne who wants to add a touch of class and luxury on their trip.
V. H.
I've stayed in several 5star hotels around the world and The Grand Hyatt ranks up there with the best. The staff were what made the hotel so fantastic. From our initial chat with Jerome at the front desk who spent ages looking up dumpling restaurants, to Claire who helped us sort out late check outs and finally James (concierge from level 31) who absolutely rocked. James spent ages chatting to us and then left us a very personalised note after fixing our loyalty program booking. The hotel is beautiful, but the staff bring the genuine warmth and heart to the stay.
T. M.
The location of this hotel is great. The room had a connecting door and you could hear the conversations of the people in the adjoining room. Normally stay at Parc 55 or Hilton since I am a diamond with Hilton as well and those properties are closer to bart for airport access and the price is usually higher at the Hyatt.
T. M.
All aspects of my stay was great. The Grand Hyatt is about a 15 minute walk to the Moscone Center for conventions. The city is fabulous with so much happening. There are plenty of shopping and restaurants. There was June Jacob amenities in an all marble bathroom with separate bath and shower.
G. J. R.
Love the place. Great public areas, great room, great access to all around Melbourne. Very comfortable and great staff. Only thing is they dinged us a $10 'public holiday' fee on our bar bill. That's not published anywhere and is a cash-grab junk fee. I'm paying 23 a pint without that so c'mon! Thats a little cheesy - and unfortunately leaves no room for a tip. Got the impression from the waiter that yes - the staff suffer for that - despite their overtime. Not classy.
A. F.
Good hospitality, great food. But our spa bath malfunctioned, so the jets didn't work, a water leak soaked a part of the carpet, and the power tripped, giving us no power to any of our wall outlets. Frustration was poorly compensated for, we were offered a free upgrade on our next stay, but we probably won't be returning except for breakfast.
N. T.
Excellent ballroom with great viewing angles coupled with finely crafted ceilings. Good sound system and productions as I attended the Hillsong Concert during Christmas holiday. All other events are encouraged to host here. Cheers!
I. K.
I didn't stay at this hotel but rather visited a friend. I did get a good look at the hotel and their room. Quite spacious with all the amenities. The view of Melbourne CBD is quite fantastic. It's definitely what you would expect of a classy hotel.
B. T.
Good hotel, your fairly standard 4.5-5 star hotel. Massive point of note here is the gym at this place - was ridiculously large, plenty of free weights and plates, machines and general weight lifting equipment. Was better equipped than most commercial gyms I've been to with multiple power racks, bench press stations & smith machines.
J. W.
My family and I visited the Grand Hyatt to attend Collins Kitchen. It is a very lovely atmospheric restaurant with exceptional waiters and brilliant service. The food was fresh and impeccable in every way with a vast selection for all four courses. I will almost certainly be attending again in the near future.
B. R.
Treated me well for my birthday and hotel welcome was first class, but the lack of attention to detail (hose tension made shower head very difficult to hold position; basic toilet paper; ineffective toilet flush) reinforces why AirBnB is a significant alternative to "5 star" hotels.
V.
Amazing hotel. I love the beautiful quality, comfort, attention to detail and style. The club lounge is wonderful. Staff are great.
H. P.
This is without a doubt the place to stay in Melbourne.
The staff are professional, friendly and only too happy to help. Room amenities are what you'd expect from Hyatt.
The location is close to everything, and while you can easily walk from shopping, restaurants or theatres, there is a tram stop close by should it be raining.
Take the time to do the afternoon tea. The cakes are amazing!
P. W.
Always go here for drinks and the staff are on point with their customer service. They are attentive and that's what people who stay at the Grand Hyatt want. Friendly, attentive, haply, helpful staff.
N. M.
What an amazing hotel. Our room was perfect. Staff were so helpful and friendly. The food was delicious.
D. M.
Always a fabulous stay here! Such a classy hotel. Fantastic breakfast spread!
T. M.
Honestly, it is a very good hotel. The location was perfect for my meetings in the financial district and nob hill. I went and did some exploring around the area and waited for the call that my room was ready. The hotel is located at union square which makes it very convenient.
N. A.
Overall great stay. Enjoyed the high tea. So far the best breakfast buffet in Melbourne. High recommended. To many choices
S. D.
Great hotel for functions such as technology seminars and conferences. Nice big rooms, great audio visual displays and good food/drink
R. S.
Wasn’t so sure about check- in , the young man at check In was rather flippant on our last visit and the rollaway for my daughter came with no sheets . However after duty management became aware of the bed issue - we could not have been treated better and this last stay was the five star experience we had received on every other visit to our choice hotel in Melbourne
P. “. M.
I'm going to take a different track to other reviews. Most of them will likely talk about how the event or stay was, how nice rooms were and how good the foods and drinks were. Unfortunately for us, we had an experience no one wants when a member of my group had a minor medicial issue well attending an event at the Grand Hyatt. I should note at the start that the medicial issue was completely nothing to do with the Hyatt. After the event happen resulting in the member of my party fainting, the staff could not have reacted faster, with the correct level of descretion and the correct level of care. Once the person was ready to be moved, they were able to provide access to another room with somewhere for the person to rest. When it became apparent that the person wouldn't just recocer, they made sure to organise an ambulance, made sure to have the correct medicial equipment on hand and staff in the right places to help out the paramedics get to the room, help the patient and get then back to the ambulance. The duty manager stayed the whole time. This couldn't of been a better experience for an event no one wants but unfortunately one that does happen from time to time. I want to personally thank all the staff for there help!
P. F.
This is a classy place. I usually come here to attend meetings, so I cannot comment on the accommodation & facilities. As a meeting venue, it is ideally placed between Parliament & Flinders Street stations with only a short walk from either (downhill towards Flinders Street Station), so access by train is great. Parking anywhere in the City is expensive & hard to get. It has very good function rooms which are customisable for size. The quality of food provided is also very good.
A.
Have stayed here a few times.
Has a luxury feel from foyer, to restaurant, bar and room. Often drop in just for a drink.
My favourite hotel in Melbourne.
G. R.
Rue co bar, pretty typical hotel bar. The selection of drinks is average and service very slow and a bit inattentive even when standing at the bar. Probably wouldn't choose to come here when Melbourne does small bars and bar service so well.
e. m.
Recently attended a professional conference Grand Hyatt. They have well equipped Conference rooms with the latest tech in equipment. It's a generally beautiful building and the staff are very very friendly and helpful!
G. W.
Beautiful hotel, everything about it is fabulous. We went to the bar to watch the Men's Final but got really questionable service. Our server was unpleasant almost to the point of giving us attitude, if that makes sense. The television in the bar was not set to fill the screen so we asked if it could be fixed. The busboy we asked got someone to fix it but it was still set wrong (the score was off the screen). We then asked our server who informed us that it would take a service company to come in and fix it so it was not an option! When we insisted the more senior guy came in and fixed it. I have to admit, everything other than our server in the bar was awesome. The name on the ticket was JohnD, but I'm not sure if that's who he was. But the bald server in the bar area did not get a tip and if I were the boss he'd be out of there.

Amazing King Spa room overlooking the city.
I loved the extra large couch and huge spa bath.
K. L.
Room service was great, the buffet breakfast was delicious with assorted selections. All staffs are very friendly, and always welcoming a chat, a true 5 star hotel.
M. M.
Attended a work related training session this week. The conference facilities were incredible, sound and visuals made the event easy to follow. Food and refreshments provided were great.
U. W.
Great service and location. Elevators are beyond a disaster though. Literally management doesn’t care that the room key cards don’t work in half the elevators. People get off frustrated in random floors several times a day. It’s laughable.
T. L.
Beautiful hotel 5☆ service 24hrs a day.
Never a bad memory.
D. B.
Almost everything was impeccable. Most notably, the staff. Genuine, polite, and personable. The entertainment (television and entertainment packages) was painfully slow, similar to the internet speed - compared to many others. This was the ONLY thing, however, and the rest of our stay was amazing, as usual.
K. W. (.
have been once or twice a year ever since moving to Melbourne. we always go for the Sunday Brunch - 2 hours of absolute foodie bliss! such talented chefs, awesome floor staff and a great experience for special occasion or just when you want some darn good food!
K. V.
Great place to stay. To be honest could use a bit of a renovation in the facilities. The pool was pretty old and smelt funky. But other than that.... too notch place to stay in Melbourne!
N. S.
Visited Grand Hyatt bar for a few drinks and snacks. Service was excellent, however overpriced for some of the snacks. Sweet potato crisps were not what I had envisioned given prices (i.e. they're not chips).
R. J.
This should be a five star hotel, but there’s just enough misses to make you want to go somewhere else. Strangely I have to start with the pop-up art, it’s bad enough to have bright cows in the foyer, but at least that’s to promote something but not he god awful flowers just take your breath away. I’ve been here twice since July, and the flower arrangement just can’t be described. White fluff for winter and gerberas for spring. Words cannot describe the hideousness. The service is what you would expect for Australia, there, but not fully attentive, rooms made, but not thoughtful. Rooms are well appointed and more modern than many other hotels in Melbourne.
R. C.
Beautiful looking hotel with well appointed rooms and great water pressure. In my experience most everything was good or better except at breakfast when the wait staff were hard to find, there was no one checking on my occupancy and when they did finally notice me I felt like I was in the wrong, not a pleasant feeling.
D. H.
Staff were very professional with what they were doing. They took pride with what they did on the night of the function. Ordering drinks did take quite a while to come, but overall did very well. The atmosphere and decor was fantastic.
I. M.
This place is the perfect getaway even if you live in Melbourne the rooms are great and spacious. All the staff are super friendly and willing to help you with everything you need even giving out direction to shops you would like to visit. The prices here are very reasonable especially for the service that they provide
W. C.
Thoroughly enjoyed their express lunch menu. Food served are of high quality and beautifully presented. I have given it 4 stars for having a limited selection on kids menu.
S. M.
I have stayed there a few times and its a good hotel for business and leisure perspective. The river view rooms are very nice .Dint get to use the pool and health club but those seem to be promising as well.
w.
We stayed here when we found out about our pregnancy to celebrare, amazing staff and service. Probably the best hotel room we stayed in and one of the best steaks i have ever had although it was pricey it waa definitely worth it.
J. S.
The hotel was amazing. The staff was really professional and we nt above and beyond to make us feel comfortable on our honeymoon. I would head back there in an instance. Melbourne was an awesome.place to visit and this is the hotel to stay at.
T. B. A.
I loved the hotel, it is huge and all the facilities were clean. The staff is so friendly and polite. The best part is that the hotel was not as expensive as a Hyatt is supposed to be and the OA was around the corner.
B. S. C.
The maternity floor with Frances Perry is wonderful. Luxurious, staffed with fantastic midwives who are always available and helpful but leave you alone as much as possible. The Hyatt staff were also great - friendly, accommodating and prompt.
M. M.
Had a really lovely staycation a few months back and I just loved this hotel. Staff were friendly and helpful
G. F.
Only went to Church there as the Athenaeum Theatre was used for something else. The toilets were nice. Not a drop of water on the washbasins lady wiped them down.
T. D.
We came here for a dinner by Burn City Smokers. The food was 8/10 but the ambiance of the restaurant didnt match the traditional American bbq food. We had a booth next to the window, the couch seat was so soft and the table was very low so it made me hunch over. It felt like eating a tv dinner on the couch at home, not a 5 star hotel's restaurant. Staff were very friendly.
A. N.
I have had high tea at the Grand Hyatt Melbourne on several occasions & have always had a wonderful experience - I have even recommended it to others! Most recently, a friend was visiting from Singapore. She was staying there & we meet for drinks at the bar. Always lovely service.
J. G.
Great comfort. Full equipped business hotel withgood staff. Breakfast buffet is very good too. Book in advance else price can sky rocket at the last minute.
A. P.
Friendly and professional staff. Ground floor is amazing but the rooms are average!! Very old hotel rooms that could do with an upgrade.
m. m.
Excellent location friendly stuff amazing hotel facilities the buffet breakfast was superb and the Collins restaurant best hamburger I’ve eaten. The Grand deluxe suite was very comfortable comfy beds perfect size also with stunning views. Highly recommend hotel
J. B.
The Grand Hyatt is centrally located in Melbourne, with a tram stop a minute walk away, and all the theatres and high end shops really close. The staff are helpful, and most importantly the rooms are quiet. The quality of the TV was average, and whilst the selection of channels were reasonable (all the usual free channels, plus the ubiquitous history, discovery and 24 hour news channels), you didn't come to Melbourne to sit in your room and watch TV.
E. D.
Like a fish out of water and yet felt like Julia Roberts lol. Went for lunch..birthday party..food delicious, choice many..staff so obliging and it's called Grand for a reason..I hope to be able to go again.
M. F.
hotel was grand . House keeping was not ! Stayed 2 nights , had to call for towels on first night . Room wasnt serviced over the whole 2 days we stayed . Very dissappointing when youve been at work all day and arrive to a room that hasnt been cleaned . Had no towels ,toilet paper or tissues . Called once and got towels and asked for staff to come back at 6 while we were out at dinner , still not cleaned when we arrived back . Had to call again and staff arrived 40 mins later at 11 pm .
A. S.
The Grand is probably the most posh hotel I've ever been to. The doormen were extremely helpful and very well presented. All Grand staff were friendly and helpful. Also the food is amazing.
S. R.
Holy Moly .. I wish all countries did hotels as well as Australia! Aside from the room being slightly smaller than what I would have wanted .. all I can say is wow. My husband accidentally booked two twin beds, so we called to see if they could move us... nope... not even 5 minutes later a guy comes in with more linens . And I kid you not transforms the twin bed into a king bed in front of our eyes within 10 minutes.. I was absolutely in awe. That's what I call ridiculously over the top amazing service
Not only did this hotel give you ordinary toiletries .. nope they added razor and shaving cream, toothbrush and tooth paste among other things to the normal toiletries... The bathroom was clean and everything was pretty much perfect.
Now the breakfast buffet was something I've never seen anywhere on the planet before .. I was seriously astonished (we had to try it because it was ranked number 1 of hotel breakfasts in Melbourne) and I would say I can't see much competing with it .. they not only had regular milk, they had soy, rice, and almond! Their cereal/granola station had everything from nuts to raw cacao nibs to chia seeds ... they had fresh fruit and typical American kinda breakfast, their hash browns were yummy and their Asian food station was really good, I loved the noodles and the veggie dumplings .. they had a lot of different types of pastries and I had one yummy pancake made fresh from scratch that I topped with berries and Nutella.
Hey and I could order an almond milk cappuccino that was included in the breakfast as well ...
Bottom line this hotel was amazingly priced for the comfort we got ... Australia you spoiled me!

Nice bar/restaurant, great for our meeting. Staff were generally very friendly but some seemed impatient. Nice environment and decor.

I love this hotel 2nd stay here. Rooms are great and comfy. The breakfast is awesome. Will only stay here on my visits to melb

I love San Francisco and have visited there a few times but the downtown area is now a punishment for the less informed city tourists as well as the soulless residents of the streets. Upon registration I was pleasantly surprised with a room upgrade to a suite. Would definitely recommend.

I'm down on business with my partner. Wonderful room with great views over the city. Impeccable room and excellent service. Thank you.

Beautiful place, amazing bar and restaurant. Service was ok and bartenders knew their stuff. We had a function there and I believe everybody enjoyed themselves.

I love their breakfast at Collins Kitchen
It took 3days for me to find where the Grand Hyatt Hotel was! I went there because of my trip for the Balloon Man ride!
You can reach there by riding the tram between the Town Hall Station and Collins Station. Collins Station is the most nearest to the hotel!

The restaurant was really nice, but if you intend to take a long time eating, you'll be rushed out to the bar after a bit more than 2 hours after starting.

Professional service. Nice location for banquet events or accommodation.
This location is conveniently in the heart of Melbourne.

Nice hotel. Great location. The rooms are nice and large. A bit of a water sound but staff moved me to another room.

Hotel location is perfect for exploring Melbourne and easily accessible from the airport via tram and airport express bus. Rooms are spacious and of a high standard. Room service is good value for money and delicious.

The function space, quality and number of staff, food, and the amenity provided by the Grand Hyatt and located in the ballroom was of the very high standard one would expect from such an establishment.

I went to scope out the function spaces. What struck me was the library and wine rooms. With the open plan area, the spaces provided a different touch. Lovely staff, too.

The Grand Hyatt is the destination for my company's annual awards gala. The reception is friendly and professional. The staff are courteous and extremely well mannered. Not once did I feel unwelcome at the Grand Hyatt.

Celebrated our wedding at Grand Hyatt,
Professional and helpful staff made everything run smoothly both in preparation and on the day. Food was very tasty and guests had a great time.

Maybe it was just my expectations for Hyatt standards, but this hotel was average at best.
STAFF: Front desk service was probably the highlight of the stay. The staff were great in terms of their professionalism at checking in and out. I would suggest the staff have a better plan of action on calling / scheduling a taxi during checkout.
ROOMS: I stayed in a standard King room for 3 days and then was proffered to upgrade to a Deluxe Room for an additional $40 per night on the next stay (at the tail end of my journey), only to find out the Deluxe was no different than the standard room with a worse view...so I felt I got jilted on that one. Linens were clean and comfortable.
DINING / ROOM SERVICE: Room service delivery times met expectation, but the food delivered was not exactly the most appetizing - no ketchup with the Club Sandwich platter, the Pea Soup was horrid, and the dressing for the salad was a choice of Balsamic or White Vinegar and no one knew anything about Thousand Island, Ranch (Buttermilk), Honey Mustard, or any of the other standard dressings one can put on a salad. The oil used in the dressing had a pungent taste to it. So the salad too was not good to eat.
The Collins restaurant has some major operational issues. From the minute I came in, I kept getting a "no" on simple requests to sit near the window, a doggie bag for left overs, etc. to the point where I'd had enough. So I ended up sitting in a corner where getting routine service was not likely, and yes, was poor. Coming into the restaurant in the AM, there was no one there to greet me to guide me to a table, so i ended up sitting down at a table that was just taken by another couple and it made me look foolish for occupying their table with my breakfast goods. Lastly, appetizers are meant to be small teasers to the main course, but this restaurant gave me a WonTon soup that was basically a main course, only to have the main course come later and be less than flavorful (Wy-something Burger)...And a side salad that was also a main course... That restaurant frustrated me to no end every time I visited it.
Taxi Service - As a customer, I usually expect the front desk to call ahead for a taxi. However, I was told to just go downstairs and ask the bellhop attendant to call a taxi. But when I did that, I didn't expect to have a whistle blown in my ear by the front attendant in their attempt to call for a taxi waiting in the wings at the front step - which rang my ear drum unexpectedly and just highlights another operational misfire on ensuring the customer's stay is pleasant.
I'm a big fan of Hyatt, but next time I'm in Melbourne I think I will chose the Park Hyatt instead. This hotel just seemed a little too "one off" with all of the operational misfires... and frustrated my experience there a great deal. It was disappointing to have this type experience coming from a well established Hyatt location.

Staff are generally very friendly and the room service/ amenities are excellent. Always a reliable place to stay.

Excellent experience of staying here, superb service, best quality of everything. Absolutely next level.

Thanks to a very sobering experience at the sofitel on colins i have now stayed at the hyatt 4 times in the last month. At the hyatt im hearing words such as 'no problem', 'yes' and 'let me see what i can do'. Im a member of the sofitel but i hear the opposite. Hyatt checkin/out has been v efficient. Gym ok but getting old. Tiny pool is useless for doing laps. Couldnt read the safety instructions on the leg press given they were so small and my poor eyesight. Room service - quick but a cold burger n chips isnt acceptable. Overall the room n bed is comfy and service is excellent...gets the tick in the box from me. Thank you Hyatt.

A luxurious and very clean hotel. Fantastic service, great food and beverage choices. I would highly recommend the Grand Hyatt if you are looking for a luxurious hotel with great service.

Nice place. The suites are big. Staff kind and beds big.

The hotel is in an excellent location. Short walking distance to many excellent restaurants and shopping centers. The rooms are well appointed, and the staff are very accommodating.

I have always stayed that the Grand Hyatt when ever I travel to Melbourne. But you have to ensure where you room is. As per other reviews ask if your room is near an elevator. Since you are prone to noise from people coming and going etc. I strongly encourage anyone to throw down the extra $ and upgrade your room. The last time I was there I paid for the Premiere Suite. (Well I didn't but my company did)hahaha
Loved it. Will ensure that when I stay there again it will be either the Premiere Suite or the Diplomatic Suite. Since why suffer when you have travelled half way across the world? Plus if you are suffering from jet lag and chances are you will be. Then the 24 hour City Club is there waiting for you.

Nestled in the heart of Melbourne's luxury shopping zone, the Grand Hyatt spares no expense on the experience it provides its guests. The hotel l8ves up to name being grand in every detail from the entry to the lobby to the elevators and hallways, the grand Hyatt boasts amenities fit for a king and queen. With amazing room service from high end chefs and impeccable staff service, you will surely be taken care of in this luxury hotel.

Subdued atmosphere, perfect for a quiet conversation. Reliably excellent hotel kitchen, good for a late dessert... especially the cheesecake!

Near shops and restaurants in the Central Business District, this posh high-rise hotel is a 7-minute walk from buzzy Federation Square, and a 14-minute walk from the National Gallery of Victoria.
Refined rooms offer floor-to-ceiling windows with city views, plus Wi-Fi (fee), flat-screens, iPod docks, and tea and coffeemaking facilities. Club rooms provide access to a lounge with free Wi-Fi and breakfast. Suites add living and dining areas; some have kitchenettes and whirlpool tubs. Room service is available.
There's a fine-dining restaurant and a bistro, along with several bars. Other amenities include a heated indoor pool, a gym and a spa.

Excellent service staff.
Great interior design.
The bed is so comfortable, it almost feels like home.
Conveniently located near the street of branded stores

As a conference venue: Good facilities and food but side entrance closed due to COVID

Went to the late night cocktail bar. Our order was taken for 2 drinks and it took them 30 mins for 2 cocktails at 8pm Wednesday night. Service and staff were excellent, just had to wait a long time for drinks

Attended a friend's wedding here and everything was perfect. Staff were very professional, food & drink was provided timely and the venue was setup very nicely.

The Grand Hyatt is far my preferred hotel in Melbourne, due to their consistently high levels of service, and perfect city location.
They shined particularly during our last trip to Melbourne which lasted all but 10 hours ...
Given the rush this particular trip was, we needed some extra assistance from the hotel, for example we asked them to arrange a room service dinner to be waiting for us in our room as soon as our driver dropped us off from the airport, so we could eat, refresh, and run.
We also needed their assistance to get us to the airport by 6am the next morning.
The Grand Hyatt absolutely outdid itself again, by providing flawless service during this latest whirlwind visit to Melbourne, which are the kind of trips when you really need your hotel to step up.
And the Grand Hyatt did.
Amazing, flawless service.

Beautiful eatablishment. Went here for a wedding reception at The Residence. The service was top notch as you would expect from a hotel of this calibre and the venue itself was beautiful. The food was also lovely .

We were there for buffet lunch. Service was great. Food was not as good as the last 2 years I've been there but still ok

An excellent hotel with friendly, helpful staff, who were happy to accommodate an error in our booking with the travel agency. The icing on the cake was that our room had a beautiful view over Melbourne

Good service, great rooms. Breakfast was excellent. Enjoyed my stay very much. Just wish my room wasn't overlooking the hotel tennis court.

We have stayed here a number of times. We like to lounge about in the hotel room enjoying the view and eat outside in Melbourne's restaurants. It was less than 5 stars for the following reasons. We went out at 9am, left the room service light on, came back at 1pm and the room had not been serviced. There was a chip on one glass, next day the glass was gone but not replaced. The milk/tea etc was not properly re-stocked so we had to go out hunting for milk in the morning. And the newspaper ordered was not delivered until I rang up for it. Not big dramas but not consistent with 5 stars.

Best place to stay in Melbourne 🇦🇺

Love it big time relaxing close to everything great staff and yummy food

Second time I have had the pleasure of staying at the Grand Hyatt Melbourne. My only comments are always needing to ask fir skim milk in the room, and why, oh why does it still appear that guests are not told exactly how to use their door card to access their floor whe first using the lift? I had to show 3 guests how to do so.

Beautiful and wonderfully appointed hotel in Melbourne. Hotel is close to shopping, restaurants, and free shuttle bus. The staff was great and made you feel at home. The staff went above and beyond and provide excellent customer service. The rooms were spotless and the view is amazing. The food was delicious. #GreatStaff #GreatRooms #GrandHyattMelbourne #GrandHyatt

Beautiful hotel. Friendly service. The restaurant food was very good, however a bit pricey considering all the great restaurants near by, but I guess thats to be expected.
S. K.
You will not be disappointed. They treat you like a 5 star guest. I am looking forward to staying there again.

This hotel is in the perfect location and near great restaurants! We were celebrating our honeymoon and the staff was very friendly and also surprised us with champagne and strawberries with chocolate fondue!

The location is great. Close to everything. The room was nice with a great view. Everything was a little unirganised. Our room wasnt ready till nearly 4pm, coffee machine wasnt working for breaky. Car took ages to collect from valet.

Wonderful afternoon and drinks at thr end of the week.
Staff casual day, with all donations going to NSW drought victims, adding an extra touch.
Drinks turned into dinner and the Pie&Ham soup was good. The Chef had some difficulty in pouring the hot soup from a smooth vessel at the table, but he managed after changing hot-pads.
An extra nice touch was the "Congratulations cake" to our son who graduated the day before from Swinburne University

The first room we stayed in (1506) had issues with the air conditioner so the room was uncomfortably warm. The 2nd room was perfect however I had left my phone charger in the first room & had alerted reception early in the evening. I wasnt advised they couldnt find it until I called them. They advised they would double check but never got back to me so I had to call back again. This time they offered to lend me another phone charger butby this time it was over 4 hours since I was waiting to charge my phone. I think it couldve been resolved more promptly

The grand hyatt has a lovely atmosphere. As expected with a luxury hotel, prices are not cheap, but its one of those things you go in knowing. If you want a nice place to stay I couldnt recommend a place more.

We were visiting some friends staying there. Room was beautiful and spacious. Entry and lobby was also very nice
