This is a good option if you want to avoid the pricey hotels in Melbourne CBD
Tips: there is a walking trail just outside the hotel. Try a nice walk before or after dinner.
For dinner, there is a shopping centre next door if hotel food is not your thing.

Bad:
-it was a little disappointing initially that they put us in room 205 where the room has only half view but we paid extra for it. I would understand if the resort is busy and peak season. We booked Monday night, and the staff literally said that its quiet. Anyway, they moved us to another room so its sorted.

A. Z.Negative: Not much information at all for guests about what's nearby, what to do in Melbourne, public transport etc...... (It is a minimum of 1 train + 1 bus to Melbourne CBD from here... with a disability, this is need to know)
Positive: Customer Service was great, Alma, one of the cleaning staff, is absolutely fantastic - so friendly and fun and happy -, young man on phone - both times- for room service is an absolute grump but everyone else was so lovely!
The room is lovely, comfortable, clean and very spacious, capable of sleeping 4 (2 in king bed + 2 in fold out double sofa), and all you need to cook - basics- is here. The rain shower was so very lovely and plenty of room, although need towel rail installed. Pool is perfect, spa is enticing and warm, gym is great, and dining options are very good with delicious affordable meals.
Coles, Woolies, Butchers, Fruit and veg, Target, assorted stores etc. directly across the road so no need to worry about being tired on arrival and no shopping done.....
Library is a 5 minute walk (turn left on exit from hotel) and most buses leave from here, there is also a 7/11 petrol station around here too...... there is another bus stop near the shops directly opposite the hotel although most buses go to library stop.
Be careful - buy your own washing liquid as unfortunately the one supplied drained the color from our washing, absolutely ruining 3 shirts, 2 shorts and nightgown. (Front loader and dryer both great, although there is no line supplied to hang wet things).
Be nice to the birds .... they have a nest right outside the room and they are getting ready to lay again and fixing their nest..... they love a bit of seed and water! :)
The "Barbie" cocktails are made so well, perfect amount of each ingredient, and are a perfect treat to spoil yourself!
Central to everything you need and not too far from most things you want.

B. S.This Mercure is in a great location if you want to stay out of Melbourne's CBD. The area is fairly new and the hotel is part of an entertainment complex so there is a lot going on there. Check in was good, staff friendly and even better there is a car park attached and it is free. The room was nice and overlooked the lake, with an awesome morning view of the Melbourne city skyline in the distance. Food was also very nice and breakfast was by menu. Nice walking area around the hotel and a mall across the road. A nice place to stay.
B. X.This hotel has everything you need in one place. Comfortable rooms, nice dining, cafe, bar and outdoor terrace on the lake.
Across the road is the shopping center which has Coles, Aldi, Woolworths and Target.

T. H.Large rooms . Nice surronds but lacks a little vibe. We paid extra for a balcony but there was heaps of bird poo on the chairs and around. Free parking was a bonus and the reception was good. Overall the value at $160+ wasn't quite there for us .
T. M.Stayed here to attend the Interdominion, beautiful big room with a wonderful shower. Great location near a lake and shopping centre and well planned to keep the noise out from the pokies venue and restaurants on the ground floor. My only disappointment was that we had a balcony, but it didnt open and the hotel is trying to be environmentally friendly by asking you to re-use your towels but dont give you anywhere to hang them in the bathroom. The balcony might have been a nice place for them to dry..
M. P.Hotel suite is lovely had a washer and dryer oven and microwave, everything you could need. There is a bistro and a cafe with alfresco dining. Staff are fantastic in every area of this hotel and only too willing to accommodate. Manager is warm and welcoming and very helpful. The hotel is situated a short distance from a mall shops and other restaurants. The whole building is situated by a picturesque lake. There is even a slot machine room to have a little bit of fun. Thoroughly recommend this hotel. We love it and can't wait to come back.
O. D.Nice big room. Very neat and tidy. Had nice water front view. We had our set breakfast menu for 4 days but fruit was not included. Not sure who's selection. Had to ordered fruit platter separately. Conference room is good and Wi-Fi connection was also stady. Staff was very friendly. Location is nice and plenty of restaurant around.
J. P.I love this hotel. I have never slept there so I can't comment on their rooms or room service. But I am proud of this big modern hotel with plenty of car parking overlooking the beautiful Caroline Springs Lake with all its bird life.
The staff are friendly and courteous and it's a great meeting place for the locals.
The food prices are inexpensive and they cater for snacks to full bistro menus.
T. M.The decor is very tasteful and inviting. I ate breakfast at the hotel and it was of good quality. There was no fly screen door to the balcony and we counted literally hundreds of mosquitos outside the door so could not use the balcony anyway nor could we could get fresh air into the room.

J. C.Fantastic Hotel, awesome staff. Clean large rooms, the bed is soooo comfy. There is a shopping mall across the road. The hotel also has a restaurant, cafe & sports bar onsite. The meals are beautiful. You can sit & look over the lake.
M.Awesome staff. Clean big rooms and a great gym, swimming pool and sauna. Great value as well, if you shop around. My only critique is the breakfast was a bit pretentious and confusing. If you get breakfast included you get a 'B' menu, which was rather disappointing considering the rest of the experience.
J. N.Bit disappointed to see that the guaranteed lake views from the balcony had been slightly obstructed by the overhanging roofing of level 2.
I rang to make sure that the lake views from balcony was uninterrupted (for our wedding anniversary) as advertised and paid so much extra for. I was put on level 3 which promised this! At no point in advertising does it suggest that the lake views would be slightly obstructed and pricing should reflect that.
To those travelers potentially wanting to book this unobstructed lake view I suggest booking level 2 than level and for me personally I would book level two lake views next time.
Overall a very good hotel but perhaps I should have been told of the obstructions from level 3 which I specifically requested for and obviously paid a whole lot more for.
Excellent facilities and staff though.
Alcohol prices in sports bar bit expensive compared to other sports bars I have been to.
E. K.Spacious, clean, free onsite parking.Older rooms are on level 3, some with balcony. Level 2 rooms are new ( available in late 2017 ). Lakeviews rooms are fabulous. Watching sunrise from the balcony, or from the living area. Then back to bed for a nap, or jog around the lake before breakfast, or have a dip in the heated pool. Relaxed atmosphere. Life's easy, life's good.

T. M.Only 20 minutes to Melbourne International airport and easy connections with highways. The lake is lovely to walk around (30-40 mins) you can then stop off and have coffee on the deck back at the hotel. We plan on returning to the area annually and I will stay here EVERY time.

T. M.The Mercure in Caroline Springs is a good place to stay for a short getaway. Hotel staff are very obliging. Most rooms have a balcony that overlook the lake with Melbourne way off in the distance. Try the Local Gerai (Asian) restaurant in the main street much cheaper and a great feed.

F. S.This rating was a difficult one because the service we received from the front desk was exemplary and can not thank him enough for his integrity and service. It started with our online booking being cancelled. Then the price we booked the room for was not able to be matched and we were charged and extra $50 on top of the price we were quoted and confirmed. However, when rating a place it has to be in relation to the actual place and facilities. The "king" size bed was 2 singles in "the superior room". There was no bath at all, no jug of cold water and honestly even the water pressure was dismal despite the huge shower head. Hence why this is only rated with 3 stars.

Super pokoje, miła obsługa. W cenie jest basen, jacuzzi i siłownia. Jedyny minus to że nie ma śniadania w formie bufetu tylko zamawia się z karty i trzeba czekać. Po drugiej stronie ulicy jest centrum handlowe i kilka restauracji
陆.这次我们入住酒店整理感觉不错，酒店前台很热情，服务周到。因为我们是晚上九点多的飞机，经过申请还同意我们延迟到下午两点退房。但是退房后酒店刷了我7.5澳币。后来我打电话询问原因，前台说房间的mini bar里缺了一瓶啤酒。我跟她说我们可以保证我们绝对没有喝过mini bar的任何东西，她说让我留一个电话，她询问后再回复我，结果一直等到飞机起飞也没有接到酒店回复。
