I cannot thank the staff of this place enough or give this hotel enough praise. I stayed here for 3 nights, immediately after flying halfway round the world. When I arrived from the airport in the middle of the night, the receptionist was generous enough to upgrade me from a standard room to a king sized suite. Even without this gesture, the staff throughout the hotel (especially the waitresses at breakfast) were incredibly helpful, friendly and positive. The variety of food and drinks at the breakfast buffet were phenomenal, plus all the complimentary hot drinks, shampoo, shower gel etc in my room were also appreciated fully. The place was kept super clean and tidy, and is clearly well managed. It's a massive 5 stars from me!

We loved our stay at the Novotel on Collins. It was the perfect location for the event we were attending. Clean, spacious and comfortable room. Great breakfast in the morning. Julian on the door (valet) provided us with exceptional service and went above and beyond with assisting us on arrival and departure.

I can only join other reviewers in thanking the staff at Novotel where I also did my two week quarantine. They were very helpful and understanding in facilitating several visits for me to my father who was terminally ill. I also reiterate what other reviewers said in that the food was plentiful and healthy (loved the curries). Thanks to all.

Did 14 days quarantine in this hotel, one of the few hotels with good comments I read online. Staff observed strict regulation which was good and reassuring that safety is always priority. Check in and check out was smooth and with order, very clear instruction given throughout the process. During quarantine, other than 5x swab test by courteous staff, we also received daily call to check on our physical and mental health. If you stay alone and do need to talk to someone theres 24/7 'helpline' available. Entertainment program ie. Movies so so with limited option. What I like about this hotel was the games or program initiated to keep patrons entertained eg. Weekly lucky draw of which I was so forwardly looking to it but unfortunately no luck twice, couple of days with beer promo and free fries, and some kids online learning stuff...I think they are great in doing every possible ways to make guests feel comfortable during quarantine. Kudos to the team!

We recently left hotel quarantine and we felt really lucky to stay at Novotel on Collins. The staff was caring and very helpful in the legally allowed limits. This contributed to make our stay more pleasant. In addition, the food was really good: healthy, freshly cooked, varied and thank god no fast food! The hotel is also committed to satisfy different dietary requirement or preferences. A big thank you to the hotel Staff!! I can only imagine the amount of organization behind the scenes to manage all the processes and safety protocols around the hotel quarantine. Good luck & courage for carrying on doing a great job!

Novotel Melbourne on Collins is a top Hotel that I've run many Meetups at.

Been there for 14 days of my hotel quarantine. Good experience but could be better

A rocky start turned to a very good stay. Our new room was attractive, clean, quiet and comfortable. Staff were all helpful and very nice to deal with. Breakfast was great. The location within easy walking distance to many attractions. Thanks, we enjoyed it!

Best people who are genuine and authentic with convenient location. I would say I have been a long term tester and frequent guest category after staying for business trips on a weekly basis for nearly 6 months. Rooms are clean and comfortable. Restaurant has lovely fresh dishes.

It is a very nice hotel, reasonably priced and in the perfect locatiob, right in the heard of central business district. Everything is within walking distance and there is also a tram stop just outside. Our room was on level 14, top floor and had everything we needed for a weekend trip (except for toothbrush but I brought mine anyway). Unfortunately they were undergoing a renovation so it was loud but only during the day. I'm giving 4 stars because our room was not cleaned until 4 or 5 pm

I think theres alot to improve. The colour scheme of the sheets and the headboard really dated and tacky. I think it needs a bit of a revamp. Great service, friendly staff, location is perfect. Its worth every penny for the location. Rooms arent very big but its fine for one person. The beds are really small. I think for a young couple or business its the perfect place to stay.
J. C.
I don't usually sleep well away from home but the room was nicely furnished and maintained and the bed and pillows very comfortable. Decent water pressure, not great but good enough. Breakfast buffet had healthy options plus the usual heavy hitters. Only real complaint was noise in nearby rooms on the floor that came through the walls when it really shouldn't have

This overnight stay was to celebrate our wedding anniversary at the Novotel.
We chose this hotel because it was the first ever Accor hotel we had stayed in, 20 years ago, and as we had planned to end our Accor membership by the end of this year because it doesn't give the same value it used to, we chose the Novotel to be our last stay with Accor.
It was a really good choice. The staff are courteous and professional here, and they upgraded us to a street view on one of the higher floors, so it was beautifully quiet at night. We enjoyed using our welcome drink vouchers, especially as we had a choice of spirits and even juice to select. Usually it's just wine, beer or soft drink, so we were happy with the extended selection.
We also had a late check out the next morning, so we were able to spend some relaxing time in the pool and spa. There were a couple of maintenance guys fixing the water temperature etc, but they were nice and friendly and were fine with us using the facilities there. The spa was especially nice with all its jets and was a good size.
The buffet breakfast was excellent, with plenty of choices in hot and cold food. They also had a pancake maker, and the winner there was the juicer where you could choose and make your own juice.
This was such a lovely stay that it will always be a good memory for us for years.

Location is fantastic, next to the Block Arcade, and handy for all Melbourne has to offer with trams outside the door. We stayed in a basic room and it was plenty big enough, clean and comfortable. The buffet breakfast was good with a reasonable choice on offer and eggs cooked to order. Staff were friendly and helpful - overall we couldn’t ask for more. Good value for money and we would definitely return.

I booked the deluxe spa room for a night to celebrate my husband's birthday. I requested late check out and I also asked if it was possible to have strawberries dipped in chocolate when we arrived as a surprise for my husband. I expected to pay extra for the strawberries of course and asked them to give me a price so I could pay in advance but they never contacted me back about it so I assumed the strawberries were not something they could offer.
When we checked in, not only did they send up the strawberries in a cute little bucket, they also attached a lovely birthday card and all of it was complimentary. It was an awesome surprise, my husband loved it, and we both felt so cared for by the staff. Throughout the whole stay, there was excellent, friendly, attentive service. We would definitely come back for the service alone.
Novotel is situated within the St. Collins Lane shopping centre and the view you have from the room is really lovely as it looks down on the green architectural feature. The spa bath was huge - comfortably fitting two people. We had the bed and breakfast package and the breakfast spread was pretty extensive. Overall, we absolutely loved our little weekend getaway at Novotel and I would really recommend coming here. It's in the heart of Melbourne, very convenient, and there's excellent service.

My stay here was excellent. Greatly appreciate the restaurant staff at breakfast who made my day by managing my "team of 5 people" during peak hour and kept smiling despite the rush of the hour.
The hotel is so near tram stations and walking distance to the train station too. That was convenient.
The front desk staff, Anais and Hiraj, were efficient on all my requests as well as my check out process.
J. F.
Good Hotel, centrally located and close to a large array of shops, bars and restaurants. The atmosphere is good and staff friendly. Breakfast buffet was presented well with plenty of options including Vegan which I opted for. The rooms are of a good standard. Overall a good hotel in a good location and my hotel of choice when in Melbourne. Love the new Pool, Spa and Gym.
S. F.
Well presented, clean rooms with comfy bedding and great city views. Central and within walking distance to most things in the city. Will definitely stay here again on my next visit to Melbourne
A. C.
Best location and place to stay! The buffet breakfast is beautiful and so much to choose from. My fav is the fresh juice and crispy hashbrowns. Eggs are made to perfection. The rooms are clean and very quiet to sleep in. The staff are exceptional
N. K.
It's great Hotel but there are not so flexible the itinerary changes. I would rate it 5 stars if they were flexible enough to accommodate last minute changes in my itinerary. The staff is polite and humble also the food and drinks are of great quality! The location of the hotel is awesome everything is within walking distance.
S.
Really love this city hotel. Within walking distance to anywhere from Collins Street. Friendly and professional staff, very large appointed beautiful room and extremely quiet. The breakfast buffet was outstanding. Will come back again.

Novotel Melbourne on Collins had provided a very high standard of hospitality for our stay. We were greeted by the Concierge, offering Valet Parking. The reception staff were helpful, and the lobby was of a satisfactory size. The room was thoroughly clean, and had boasted a good sense of luxury and style with the good facilities available in the room, including a master switch next to the bed, two HD TVs, a marble bathroom, and more. Catering was excellent and flawless, even offering for breakfast Honeycomb and Lychee, along with an extensive range of hot and cold foods.
I would definitely recommend this hotel.

Lovely staff, excellent location, comfy bed and great food. Can't say enough about how great the staff were, helpful, very friendly and prompt service with bags and everything. They also have valet parking which was really handy for us as we had our vehicle but was very close to stations and trams.
Walking distance to lots of landmarks and excellent restaurants and cafe's. Will definitely come back to the Novatel!

Great hotel to stay rooms are well designed and all facilities I would need. The restuarant appeared to be understaffed I got my meals after more than 30 minutes however the customer service was fantastic so was the quality of the food, so it didn't really bother me. Tv in the rooms only usuable if you're buying movies to watch. Overall I loved it and would definitely stay there again. Hint try their Old fashioned cocktail on the menu

Last week i had to be in Melbourne and needed somewhere central to stay.
I chose the Novotel on Collins as it was close to everywhere i need to go to.
The Hotel itself was good.
The rooms were clean and of a good size.
the Hotel is very central .
My issue was with the check in procedure.
i don't mind waiting if it is busy or i am waiting at peak times.
This was at 7.30 pm and there was only a family in front of me in line to check in.
There was one person doing the check in.
It took over 30 minutes of waiting to get checked in.
This was in a hotel with one check in front of me, not at a busy time. Eventually a second person came from out the back and i was checked in promptly.
The room had been booked and paid for in advance , all i had to do was swipe my credit card and sign.
K. G.
Check in was easy, room was very clean and Hotel very convenient to tram stops. The price was great too.
Pillows were incredibly hard, however I ordered 2 from the pillow menu and had a great night sleep.
Breakfast was phenomenal and the three of us were thrilled. Staff were super efficient and it was a delight to see how accommodating they were (actually they were guns!!). Will stay again.

Quarantine was like a dream at the Novotel. The staff were professional, friendly and welcoming. The whole family were impressed with the lamb shanks for dinner (yum). A great experience. Thanks to the whole team for making our stay wonderful
M. L.
I had a great experience recently where all staff were very friendly and helpful in all interactions. The room was clean and tidy and refreshed everyday to my standards.
The gym was small, but adequate. Tough with the space you have but as it wasn't busy i was able to make do with equipment available. Pool and Spa were definitely utilized during my stay, and clean and relaxing.

This place is great! Modern, clean rooms. Buffet breakfast is a must-do. Really helpful staff. Location is awesome, right in the centre of Melbourne. Right above a mall, great if you want to go shopping. The green tube art installation is really cool. There's an indoor pool and gym, but it's far from the lifts. My only complaint is that you can hear everything next door, especially if they have screaming kids. Rooms have a view of either the mall below, or the street (often obstructed by signs, roofs etc.). Otherwise I would absolutely stay here again!
S. C.
Rooms where clean, staff are all friendly.
My only real negative is that the rooms although clean and tidy can use a refresh and be more modern. Things like usb plugs near the bead heads etc
Apart from that nice room.
M. B.
My room was on top floor. A rabbit warren took me over 200 steps from lift to my room. Looked for fire escapes etc as its quite a journey if disaster struck. Room was comfortable with view of inner courtyard shopping mall. Amenities fine, room a bit ragged with large visible tears in carpet and damage to door. At 6.30 am the disco music from the mall on the ground level started pumping and that ended my restful sleep. No doubt the staff cleaning mall enjoyed it. So many rooms, by 250 pm first day staff had not made it to my room and I wanted to get in. I was booked and paid for 3 days but stayed 2 as the noise was too much and I came for rest after leg surgery. Staff very nice but overwhelmed at check in/out times. Lanes cafe breakfast excellent. Close to everything in City centre but unless you had to come to City why would you?
C. C.
All staff were so welcoming and accomodating. From check in to check out my experience in the hotel was excellent. I particularly want to commend the breakfast staff for their prompt attention to details (such as clearing and re-setting tables, and reorganising table arrangements to cater for additional diners at the last minute, at that crazy breakfast rush).
I also hope that you do take the time to have a chat and listen to some of your bar staff about their own personal ideas for their cocktail creations. Recently, on the night of Thursday, June 15th after a late flight from Sydney and check in, myself and my travel companion went to the bar for a relaxing drink and I got to talking to two friendly bar guys who had some great ideas for some great cocktails- now I realise that your bar on a Thursday night was not the rocking young persons cocktail bar- (more like the middle aged business mans bar), but how inspiring for your staff to be able to dabble with their own creations and recommendations. These two guys in particular had told me about how they had previously talked about ideas....... why not let them have a go, or tempt your guests on occasions with their ideas. They were so friendly and happy to be at their job and talking about their ideas.... why not further inspire your staff and give them a little more say in their craft. I would love to have tried a few of these tasty sounding cocktails....
i hope this is read and those guys tracked down. They were an asset to your company and trade.
Thanks for the overall great experience- I will be back and I will be recommending the Novotel on Collins to others.

The general experience from check-in to check-out was outstanding. Our key was ready when we arrived along with our Accorplus pack. Complimentary drink (sparkling wine) was that he only low of the stay. Perhaps you might want to review the brand you stock - it's been the same for all our stays - it's pretty ordinary. Rooms are clean, quiet and comfortable. As usual the breakfast is first class. In the past I had been critical of the attention to detail regarding refilling items that had been exhausted. I noted that this was something that staff were right on top of during this experience - well done. All the staff we had contact with were very friendly and helpful. Overall a great place to stay.
K. D.
We loved that they upgraded our room and were greeted by courteous staff on arrival. We were also given a lovely tasting platter voucher to help us celebrate our anniversary, which we enjoyed with our free drink vouchers. The only down to the experience was the lack of lighting in our room.. We loved the central location and found it very easy to walk throughout the city from the hotel. We would stay again but ask for a lower floor for a better view over the atrium.
S. B.
Great location! Amazing service during our stay. Excellent follow up on requests of staff also. The restaurant appeared to close fairly early in the weekend - we went for dinner at 9.05pm - and missed our chance. The room was spacious and well kept with excellent views. Would definitely stay again.
t.
Great staff, very friendly and accommodating. Room had all the necessary things and was a comfortable bed. Terrific bathroom.
Offered complimentary late check out as I was late checking in, which was very much appreciated.
Very few downsides, however some areas of the room hadn't been cleaned (remained dusty), and there was a welcome letter for a different guest in the room, which I am sure I would have appreciated had the letter been for me!
Just outside the room was a rather noisy heater/air conditioner that rattled away through the night. I did not lose sleep over it, but the sound was present. It didn't bother me enough to report to staff.

Great hotel to stay when visiting Melbourne. Rooms are very clean and staff is very helpful. We asked staff for a good Indian restaurant and they sent us to ‘gourmet Curry hut’ 3 minute walking distance and the food was amazing. We also asked the staff where the best shopping was for designer brands and they send us to chadston which was far but totally worth it. Will highly recommend this hotel and especially the service of the staff.

Just spent a week at the Novatel Collins St Melbourne & found the location is excellent & so easy to get around the city with tram stops immediately outside the hotel, plus so many eateries, Fed Square, Southbank all within walking distance. Found all staff very helpful & friendly, however did find a few things that weren't all together to our liking -
1. Breakfast can be extremely busy, so is best to be up as early as possible. If you hit the breakfast bar at 9.00am...then expect chaos...this place is busy! Credit where due...the staff manage the chaos as best as possible, but it's not pleasant when trying to get your feed & dealing with large numbers of people...allbeit at the same time.
Best time is 8.00am...get in, get out & beat the rush.
2. The lifts are in one location. If your room is on the other side of the building, it can be a trek to & from them.
3. The hotel is tired & in need of renovations with rooms, hallways, carpets, lifts all needing some updating. Nothing really too bad...but not that good either.
4. Room cleaning is good, but found the complimentary tea, coffee & milk not always replaced daily.
5. Room bar fridge/condiments way too expensive. You do expect to pay a little extra...but not the prices being charged. I was definitely discouraged from utilising this service.
6. No complimentary water supplied to your room either, so be aware you'll be stung severely if you use.
All of this aside...I would come back as the location is just perfect & thoroughly enjoyed Melbourne.

Check in was quick, all staff members were efficient, helpful and courteous. The room was extremely comfortable and clean. I would return.
It wasn't entirely clear how valet parking worked, ie were to park etc, and the place out the front of the hotel was full so I parked on the taxi rank.
Also received a late bill for some minibar expenses, but I hadn't used the minibar. Was able to clear this up quickly on the phone.

This hotel is an ideal location in the centre of Melbourne. I was there to attend conference and cannot fault the service, food, etc. over the 3 days and nights of my stay, however because the room was sealed (windows that didn't open), and the air conditioner had a mind of its own (seemed to be programmed between 18 degrees c overnight -22 daytime despite my attempts to alter settings), I did not get the quality of sleep I normally get at home where the room is a lot cooler. The room also lacked the usual charging ports (ie USB, etc) you would expect to find in a hotel in this price range. Despite that the rooms are quite spacious, the decor tasteful, and the staff mostly friendly.
s. k. S.
Great location and moderate kind of hotel. House kepping staffd are quick and good service. Buffet breakfast menu doesn't change and got tierd of eating same menu for 3 days. Not too many options for 4 star hotel. Overall good.
J. D.
we found the experience at the Novotel on Collins as a relaxing and fun time. The concierge on arrival Jonathon was excellent and explained all we needed to know about parking our vehicle and luggage to room. We had completed check in online and found this an excellent service receiving an email stating they were expecting us and our room key was ready at the reception desk. Emily on reception check in was very friendly and helpful. The room was clean and spacious for our stay. The food was delicious and bar staff were friendly.
S. N.
Great location and very clean and modern rooms. Bed was comfortable. They had a hairdryer, iron, mini bar and tea/coffee facilities. My room included breakfast but the check in staff failed to mention that to me, he didn't tell me about breakfast but when I asked he said I could pay for it. I checked out without knowing about breakfast. Luckily I asked staff at the restaurant and they let me know. My loyalty card didn't load at the time so I didn't get my usual loyalty benefits. The bathroom was a bit small but was nice and clean. There was a lot of construction noise at 7am so I couldn't sleep. But they have a nice pool and small gym so I utilised that which was convenient. Overall I enjoyed my stay.

Easy to find on Collins St, close to train stations and trams allowing easy access to come and go. The room was great, everything I expected, clean, tidy well heated. The bed was really comfortable. Buffett breakfast had a great variety and good quality and wasn't too busy at 7am. Barista made coffee was a wonderful addition.
C.
Lovely staff, very helpful and friendly! My partner and I found it so difficult to find a strong coffee in the city but was never disappointed by the coffee at the hotel bar. Would highly recommended the buffet breakfast too. Thank you for your hospitality. Will definitely book again next time we're in Melbourne.
C. P.
The staff at the Novotel on Collins provide a top quality exceptional service. I stayed at the hotel for a conference and I was so impressed with all aspects of the service at the hotel. The rooms were well appointed, staff friendly and personable and went above and beyond. The conference I attended was well managed and the food and drinks were plentiful and always ready.
Thank you for a lovely stay.
S. H.
We felt very welcome, the check in was pleasant and the concierge gave us a great recommendation for dinner. The room was very clean, quiet and comfortable. Huge fluffy towels and wonderful shower. I'd be pressed to fault anything, the only thing that wasn't perfect was the breakfast as the hot food wasn't really hot and the coffee was average. But I still ate it ;)
J. T.
Stayed with a large group. Check-in was streamlined even though we all arrived at the same time. Room facilities were good. Breakfast in the dining room was excellent, with very helpful and attentive waiting staff to assist. Super-fast lifts meant there were no delays when coming and going (apart from the long trek from the lift to the room on the opposite side of the building).
M. T.
The staff were friendly and helpful and check-in was prompt and painless, as was our check out.
The breakfast buffet was restocked during busy periods and had a good selection to choose from.
The room we had (1331) needed the leading edge of the curtain re-hung, but other than that it was well presented. Would have been nice to have body lotion included in the toiletries.
J. W.
Great location, great food and service, staff were always ready to assist and the rooms were to the standard I expect from Novotel. The disappointing thing was that we had a noise that I can only explain like an aeroplane when it hits the runway, like a screeching sound that was coming from under the floor in our room. The first night it screeched every 5 minutes between 1am and 2am, then randomly screeched every 30mins -hour each night after that. I don't know if it was the air conditioning or what but it was so loud it scared myself and my daughter awake all through the night each night and the disappointing thing is the staff at the front counter didn't action our complaint. We will stay again next year an hope by then the problem is fixed.
S. W.
Stayed two nights on business. Room was clean, quiet and comfortable. I particularly liked the comfortable reclining chair, much nicer for relaxing than a more usual upright one. Only thing I would rate lower would be the cost of breakfast: $15 for a cup of tea and some toast I had to toast myself, from cheap sliced packet bread - not the best. Other than that, I enjoyed my stay and would recommend it to friends and colleagues.
S. H.
One of the worst nights I’ve had in Melbourne. Things got off to the wrong start when I had to drive around in circles for 10 minutes waiting for a space to park the car and hand over the keys. Not a big problem for a business traveller but an issue for anyone local coming into the city. Check in was smooth enough and the elevators to the room were quick. The two rooms we had were clean and quiet. Looking forward to relaxing I lay down on the bed. That’s pretty much where the 3 stars comes from. You had one job, comfortable bed, fail. For the love of god stop letting accounting come with you when you choose beds. Two singles pushed together is not a king. If your staying here, sleep on the couch or the floor it’s more comfortable. Then as I tried to recover the next morning the shower kept changing temperature, I expect that from a budget motel in the country not from a Novatel. So 30 minutes later still stiff we all headed to breakfast. The food here was generally very good and a chef is on staff waiting to cook your eggs. Sadly the eggs have no flavour (bloody bean counters at it again) and the bacon was cold. So why 3 stars and not 1. The staff were fantastic, polite, helpful and very good at their jobs.
S. D.
After checking in to my flight in Canberra at 5am I arrived at the Novotel at 7.55 already feeling tired. I was hoping to just drop my bag off and go and grab some coffee. I was so happy when the concierge told me my room was ready if I wanted to check in straight away. It was so nice to be able to go straight to my room. All the team were extremely helpful and made my stay so lovely. It was so nice to always be greated with a smile. My room was very comfortable and spacious. The location is central to everything I neede and I was easily able to make my way around the city on connecting trams. This was my first trip away from my family and I hope to be back with my family in the future. The only small thing I would change is the addition of a shelf in the shower to put the shampoo and products on.
R. K.
I was so impressed with the level of service. Also waiting in our room on arrival was a birthday cake for my daughter and friends daughter which was just so touching. I wont forget my stay at Novetel on Collins and will be sure to tell others about it. The buffet breakfast was simply AMAZING. My husband and boys (who didnt get to come on this getaway) were very envious of the buffet I described to them.
A. R.
I really enjoyed my stay. Staff were friendly and accommodating. The place was clean. My room was a good size and clean too. There was building work going on but the receptionist booked me into a room week away from the noise which was great. Check in and check out was of a reasonable time frame. The only thing I didn't get was arobe and slippers in my room.
G. C.
The front entrance on the ground floor is a bit deceiving and does well in setting your expectations low as it's dingy and rather tired looking. However once you go up to level 3, you are pleasantly surprised that there is a real reception with a proper lobby and you heave a sigh of relief that the hotel is not like the ground floor lift lobby. Your emotions are then toyed with again as you take the elevator and walk through the hospital like sterile white corridor to your room, which then in all fairness is decent, with updated furnishings. Overall, I got a decent night's rest although the tram was a but noisy till about 12am.
M.
A very ordinary stay.
Not made to feel very special as a loyal Gold Accor Plus member.
Breakfast area was a bit of a zoo but the food was ok.
Having good coffee, fresh juice and nice sour dough bread is a big improvement.
The bar was well serviced and enjoyable.
The rooms need upgrading.
M. S.
A pleasant stay. Some buffet breakfast food items were unstocked for an extended period (soy milk was out for two of our four days) but overall great. The parking was a tad expensive at $45 a day. The spa was out of action for three out of four days. As usual I couldn't use my Accor free night. But everything else was great. Clean and tidy, modern and efficient. I could not connect my device to the in room TV HDMI input as the remote did not allow a change to this input. The restaurant evening meal was excellent. 4.8 stars.

Stayed at the Novotel on Collins on two occasions over the last couple of years.
The first, was on the 2nd October 2015. My wife and I were staying as it was the night of our wedding. As we arrived clearly from our wedding, the gentleman at checkin gave us a free upgrade and a late check out. They also delivered a complementary cheese platter to our room which was a lovely touch. However, the following morning, we were called by a different gentleman at the reception telling us we were late for check out. As we were already packed and about ready to leave, we didn’t raise the conversation of a late check out from the night before.
That said, I was a bit annoyed at this. Not so much that it wasn’t communicated but more from the tone of the guy who spoke to me in the morning. But as we were there for our first stay a married couple. Wasn’t worth a further conversation at that point.
That said, the hotel is lovely with almost flawless service.
On a second stay, we did a staycation and were provided with great service. The checkin staff even supplied a phone charger as requested as we forgot ours.
The hotel is comfortable and is in a great location. Would recommend

When the Novotel Collins Street rang to confirm my booking a few days prior to me checking in, I requested a shower chair for my son, which was in the bathroom as requested. I also advised that I required the sofa bed for my son and that was made up ready for him. On arrival I asked if I could have a check out at 6.00pm which was approved which meant we could be in our room up until the time we left. The concierge were very helpful in directing me to places that I wasn't sure how to get to and also booked a taxi for when we needed to leave which was waiting for us when we were required to leave. Overall it was a very pleasant and enjoyable stay made possible by all your staff.

I thought the staff were very professional, helpful and courteous. Our room was good, but I thought for a King Superior Room, it would have been more luxurious. The internet in the room was slow.
The bed was ok, but we thought was not up to a standard that we would expect from a good class hotel. We didn't get the good night's sleep we needed because the bed was fairly hard and lumpy. The breakfast and variety was very good.

We were very happy with our stay at Novotel on Collins.
Our room was comfortable, clean and well appointed. Overlooking St Collins Lane added to the pleasure.
We dined at the Lane restaurant which we found to be an excellent experience. Food was great and service even better. Knowing we only had to get the lift back to our room made for a relaxing dinner.
Staff, throughout the hotel were extremely polite and helpful.
Novotel on Collins compared favourably with hotels we have stayed at while travelling through UK, Europe and the US.
I am sure we will stay there again when we need an overnight stop in Melbourne.
H. L.
I appreciated the counter staff. They were very responsive and helpful.
Your rooms were clean and towels smelt fresh.
I didn't know why they charged me $4? Probably for a bottle of water I drank on arrival in the room but it was marked "complimentary"?
I was in a hurry so didn't clarify and left after dropping my keys.
Thanks anyway. I love your courteous staff.
One feedback: maybe you should have a holding bar to assist older people to get out of the bath.
R. D.
It was a lovely stay. Our room was clean and well maintained during our time there. The location was excellent and the staff professional but friendly.
The only room complaint we would share is the rooms are dark....not enough lighting although the bathroom was good.
The other issue which all of us commented on was the cold cooked breakfast. Although there was steam coming out of the water under the dishes, it did little to keep the food hot.
S. L.
A good hotel at a fantastic location. At times there may be a slight difficulty to dropping my car for valet parking due to the limited parking space on a very busy street. But in general, the valet parking people are attentive and available within a minute.
The room is big and nice. However, the room was a big dusty and the pillows and sheets were not comfortable.
The valet parking people were nice and friendly. But the reception people were cold and tired.
S. W.
Very friendly staff and service was really good.
Room was nice but on the second night my wife's foot was bitten by a bug while sleeping
It was so painful that it woke her up.
I went to the concierge to book a shuttle bus a day before but the bus never showed up and it was too late to call a taxi I had to changed our flights. Maybe it was just a miss communication.
Overall it was a pleasant experience staying at the hotel.
T. W.
Good rooms and bathroom. I would have liked a robe... Location is good - near free tram stops.
Bar is pretty good with an interesting rotating selection of beers. The restaurant is a bit dated with the menu like something from 2002, although what I ate was very nice.
The Room WiFi was unusable. I complained and got upgraded to a better plan.

Stayed here for 2 nights for work. Was put in a deluxe king room on the 7th floor. The hotel and room were clean and no issues with the room itself other than the step near the door which is a bit hazardous. Being the last room on the floor had its pluses (close to the gym and quiet) and minuses ( my room didn't get cleaned and a room service tray from another guest was there for two days sitting on the floor). Overall a solid hotel in a great location in the CBD.

It was the perfect location for our one night city stay before the Grand Final parade. Everything was great including the pool (pool could me more heated)and spa. The only negative was that when we arrived we were informed by a girl on the desk, that if we booked breakfast the night before, we would receive a discount. When we went to book later that night, a different girl, told us that it wasn't possible on our room rate to give that discount. So we didn't book, But in the morning we asked someone else and they did give us the discount. I think your staff need to be more on the same page. But everything else was great. Thank you
S. P.
very average hotel, the reception areas/lobby are lovely looking onto the shopping centre but the rooms are quite depressing. long corridors to get to the room made me feel like I was in a hostel ! nice staff but wont be back
ウ.
I stayed Novotel on Collins first time with my mum for my birthday get away. The experience was fantastic!
Great staff, lovely room and fantastic service. The location is perfect for getting around the city.
We had full buffet breakfast, good selection of hot and continental breakfast, always nice to receive 50% off as an Accor member and complimentary drinks.
They also gave me a full bottle of wine and a card for my birthday!
I can confidently recommend the hotel to anyone who is planning to stay in Melbourne.
N. W.
Stayed here a few times. Nice and neat rooms. Large enough but not too big. Very practical. Service from staff in general was good but the bar staff where particularly friendly which was good. Everything reasonably priced. Central location and easy to get everywhere. Will stay again.
A. B.
The receptionist named Neha was extremely polite and helping. She did an upgrade for us for free of charge. The entire stay was great. Mr Theo was helpful too at the concierge desk.
Location is great!

Good location. Rooms clean and staff very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was ok (but nothing for me to rave about). The "master switch" isn't well labelled and that's turned off, the air con doesn't work and your phone doesn't get charged. More of an issue if you get in late and don't experiment. I'll call it a silly design. Overall, would go back again though.

This was my first stay at the Novotel on Collins, and I think I will be back.
All of the staff I encountered during my one night stay were delightful and pleasantly efficient. The staff in the restaurant were especially lovely and looked after me well (and the lovely Krish was a standout in this respect)
The room was comfortable and the desk was large enough to work on, with a conveniently located power point for my laptop.
M. T.
I really enjoyed my stay. Everything went really well. Very helpful staff at reception, restaurant and throughout.
The only slight negative was the concierge at the Collins St entrance on the first day when I arrived who was quite abrupt in his answers with everyone around his desk.
Otherwise, everyone else was very pleasant, cheerful and welcoming.
j. p.
We had a mix up with our booking accommodation in the area. I saw the Novotel from I distance and so glad we did. This Hotel was brilliant from the security guard to the cleaners. Thank you to the reception desk for being understanding to myself and my wife we we're so tired from travelling. Food in the dining room 10 out of 10 but the pale ale was far to expensive. Will recommend
K. W.
The team here are always super helpful and welcoming. I usually just stay 1-2 nights for work, so I don't have much of a chance to use the bar or restaurant but I have always been happy with the room service food and the gym is pretty good for a hotel gym. Only issue with it is that the exercise bikes don't seem to be plugged in at all.
D. S.
Our stay was simply outstanding. From the moment we arrived until we left. Our check in was seamless and our suite was ready at 11am. We were celebrating our anniversary and were pleasantly surprised by the extras, the personal card, wine and breakfast voucher. A lovely touch. Our suite was outstanding. We always stay at the Novotel when in Melbourne and every stay just gets better. Your staff are outstanding and deserve to be celebrated. Until next visit - THANK YOU
D. B.
Our stay at The Novotel Collins Street was very pleasant and enjoyable. We liked the location very much. The staff everywhere were very nice and polite. We liked the breakfast very much. The pool and gym facilities were just what we needed. We all had a great night sleep.
R. H.
We had a lovely two night stay. We had dinner in the restaurant both evenings and it was a superb dining experience. The new menu was enjoyable and the chocolate brulee was absolutely the best I have ever eaten. The staff were so accommodating and helpful, we highly recommend the Novotel on Collins, we had a great stay with a comfortable bed, thank you.
F. Q.
Hotel is located near shopping, food and most importantly a tram stop. Making this one of the most convenient hotels I’ve stayed in while in Melbourne.
Rooms are a bit on the small side.
Single bed is not recommended for people who are taller than 6 feet.
To avoid long walks to and from rooms, make sure your room number is not more than 30. Eg. 930 or 730 or 1030.
A. R.
Thank you to Novotel on Collins for a lovely stay. Check in and out was easy, our King room was large, our paper was delivered daily, free bottled water on arrival. Everything met our expectations. A big thank you to the breakfast staff. Your service in clearing tables and seating customers in a timely manner is very commendable. That is something that does not happen in all hotels. See you next time.
S. H.
As uasual, the hotel was very good & in an excellent position for a Melbourne stay.
The restaurant was very ordinary, a very basic menu & nothing particularly interesting.
I felt the food we ordered was quite tasty although I had to ask for my meal to be heated.
The atmosphere was cold as there were not many eating there at 7 pm Saturday &
we chose not to eat there again.
This was a let down for the standard of the hotel unfortunately.
K.
Great central location, and friendly staff.
However some issues:
Waited 50 minutes for 2 bath towers - were given one for 3 people in the room. Ended up getting pool towels myself in the meantime. Rang twice.
Luke warm showers in the morning.
Bath plug too big - did not fit the bath hole.
Buffet constantly out of stock and not being restocked quickly. Eggs were a rarity, especially poached eggs. And forget trying to get them cooked for you, you be waiting for a while.
Wi fi slow - couldn't load simple hotmail on my phone
S. H.
The service here is great! The food options are endless and it is delicious but the bedroom supplies like glasses are low and there wasnt any handwashing but if you are staying in the hotel for a week or so it is great!
C. P.
The hotel is very accessible and provides bith a gym and pool to its guests. The gym is slightly limited but within expected for a hotel whilst the pool is quite shallow. The most confusing aspect of the layout is the separation of the first 3 floors and the rest of the hotel. Overall it is a comfortable hotel to stay at with suitable facilities.
M. H.
The staff were all friendly and helpful. The main room was nice, clean and tidy, modern. The bathroom was functional, but not the modern bathroom I saw in the pictures. Also, there was nothing to stop water running from the shower all the way across the bathroom floor. Overall it has been a positive experience with only a minor first world problem.
T. W.
Great service by staff, fast and easy check-in. Fabulous location for a Melbourne city traveller, easy to access and close to all the city bustle. Room was clean and had everything that is needed for a short stay. Comfortable and neat. Disappointed that most of the gym was out of action.
K. K.
Good hotel overall. The staff were friendly and the service was great. I like that I could order pillow from the menu which helped me with a good night sleep. The only comment was the 10 fee for wifi. I have never been asked to pay for wifi so I thought this was a bit cheeky of them. I ended up using my phone instead.
g. m.
It's okay. The hotel bar is respectable. The rooms are cool too. The location is super cool to sample the city. However, I expect bars to have great music but this one did not and I obviously raised it with the staff.
G. S.
The service was always great however the hotel cleaning was not what I would expect from a 4 star hotels. We stayed for a week and in this time the hotels corridors had not been vacuumed once, we passed the same rubbish on the floor for a week. Dust was built up in the corners which also showed that regular cleaning was not done. cleaning of our room at times was excellent other days just ok. Not sure I would choose this hotel again I would have expected better from a 4 star hotel.
H. R.
Love staying at Novotel on Collins. Great customer service from the first point of contact. Friendly staff and received a special surprise upon arrival to my room a platter of rocky road chocolate with strawberries and beautiful decoration. Ordered room service on my last stay and enjoyed every part of my meal. On my first day of the weekend, I asked the concierge directions on how to get to the NGV for the DIOR exhibition and they were happy to help by mentioning to me the best way to get there by walk or by tram. I walked as it is nice to soak in the sunshine and explore. Thank you to Emma who made sure my stay was a good one upon arrival and to all the other staff when I checked out. Look forward to seeing you guys again when I'm next in Melbourne.
As a long time customer, I recommend anyone to stay at Novotel. It's close to transport, shops and more and the staff are so lovely they are always happy to help and they make sure your stay is a good one.
Being in the heart of the city, every facility is within walking distance.
B. K.
My stay was pleasant and the staff were great. I got a room on the 11th floor so there was not too much outside noise and my room was near the lift which was exactly what I wanted as I have had to take the ridiculously long journey to the other side of the building from the lift before and would not like to do that again. The passages leading to my room were dirty as was the was the walls in the passage ways. My room itself was nice with plenty of space and was clean. My only quibble would be the big chips of plaster taken out of the walls in the room.
But overall the location far outlays my minor complaints and I will be back.
i. M. W.
Thanks to Karen the manager for leaving some rocky road in our room. That was very thoughtful.
Loved the room and the casual feel of the foyer and bar / dinning area. Staff were friendly and the location was really great for what we wanted to do in Melbourne.
Will on sell the property for sure.

The staff were lovely and it's a great hotel. Facilities were excellent but my room wasn't really completely clean. The bedside was a little dusty and there was mould in the shower. Not quite the standard I expected.
F. C.
My biggest problem was not the massive renovation work happening at the ground floor shopping.
The major problem was the internet. It was not even a dial up speed internet. Very, very slow. I wasn't able to do work and had to use my own phone as a hot spot to get it working.
The pillows are ridiculously cheap and bad as well.
Breakfast was great, lots of options. The staff is very professional.
The gym is a complete joke. More weights please.
s. m.
Stayed for 2 nights on 3 different weeks. All good except that the TV remote is difficult to us. Which gets even more annoying when you are trying to change the channel from your bed at the other end of the room. It's time they allow customers to stream from their devices
J. P.
We were greeted by a lovely person who was a learner with no help and when we left same situation where was her help. No sanitizer on desk or in rooms disappointing. Otherwise a nice stay
D. O.
Check-in was great with one of your very nice and capable staff members.
I really like the lobby / bar area. It is a great space for meetings. There is a really good vibe on Friday afternoons.
The rooms were fine, just what I needed.
M. T.
This was our 4th stay at the Novotel on Collins as a family as we love how friendly the staff are and the location in Melbourne. This last stay was however somewhat disappointing. The room was nice and neat and the bed all made for our daughter and the fluffies all laid out which is nice. That said the floor/carpet was quite dirty and really needed a good vacuum there were pieces of tissue around the main bed. On Saturday morning the shower had limited warm water and no pressure which didn't make for a great start to the day.
We do like the Novotel and we will stay there again when we are back in Melbourne next month and are staying at the Novotel in Singapore in July.
Kind regards
Matt T

Very comfortable and clean place to stay in the heart of Melbourne.
The gym is small and basic but can be used if you need some weight for your training.
Good selection of menu items at the restaurant and plenty of options at the breakfast buffet.
A. M.
Really well located in the heart of Collins Street. The brand new shopping mall next door is nicely integrated to the hotel. Rooms are renovated and well appointed although some feel a long walk from the lift well. Online check in an interesting concept but arrival experience felt like a normal checkin (i.e. what’s the point?)
A. T.
I'd say a good hotel located in a very convenient street in the Melbourne CBD. Just 2 streets away from Flinder St, and Tram stations are just a stone throw away. It is also situated just beside The Block Arcade so shopping and food options are aplenty.
The hotel has a small pool and jacuzzi together with the gym. Gym equipment is adequate and it faces the inner courts of the hotel.
Room amenities is lacking though. No slippers, no toothbrush. The slippers would be useful as I visited during winter period. Otherwise, I have no complains overall.
T. D.
Staff were friendly and helpful. The room was spacious. Would of preferred more entertainment such as movies on TV other then paid movies. Maybe purchase a portable scale as well so guess are able to weigh luggage in their room freely with easy access to remove things then weigh again.
J. J.
A great stay in a family room for 5 days. Clean, tidy, friendly and lots of fun. We are a family of 5, kids 8, 6 and 2. Kids love the pool, game machine at reception and their own connected room with TV. We loved the breakfasts, valet parking, dinner (great steaks) and friendly staff. Perfect spot for a week in Melbourne.

Enjoyed our stay at the Novotel Collins St. The hotel is well located in the heart of Melbourne. We got a good deal. Room was comfortable and a good size. Staff were friendly and helpful. Only thing to comment on was the bed which I found a little too unforgiving for my back and neck.
S. W.
Had a great stay. Room was very comfortable and a good size, with good amenities. Location was awesome, handy for getting out and exploring the city. Buffet Breakfast was really good and well worth having. All in all a great stay!
B. W.
From the moment we checked in to when we check out, we were treated like royalty. We were on our mini-moon, after getting married on Monday 10th April, we checked-in and were upgraded to an executive room, plus we were delivered a bottle of champagne on ice. It was so lovely. Every time we came and went from the hotel, we were greeted kindly by all staff, and breakfast each morning was delicious.
T. N.
Fantastic location. The bar in the lobby was a great place to relax and unwind. Facilities were great, and the room was really nice and well maintained. The only downside was the bed, which was not very comfortable.
M. H.
The Novotel Collins is my first choice when staying in Melbourne. The location is perfect for my business in the arts precinct just over the Bridge. I get to enjoiy all the interesting lanes that I love exploring, lots of interesting shopping and food places. The Novotel staff are always welcoming and very helpful. My room was overlooking the refurbed shopping centre, hence no roadworks or traffic noise. Room layout was good, included a large functional desk space for work and a comfy chaise to lounge on. The staff are amazing. The TV tech issue was fixed within minutes. I always recommend the Novotel Collins to friends and colleagues.
B.
Comfortable. Nice big room and modern bathroom with free WiFi. Mini bar was a bit overpriced (especially for water) but I guess you pay for the convienience. I had breakfast in my room which was average. The coffee was almost undrinksble (pretty bad for Melbourne). Check out was slow as my breakfast invoice hadn’t been applied to the invoice so we had to wait for it to be applied.
J. B.
As a wheelchair user I was impressed that everything in the hotel was highly accessible, including lifts, swipe cards, bathroom, huge room, lights etc etc. A lot of hotels have accessible rooms but all other aspects of the hotel are totally inaccessible - great work Novotel.
I should mention very friendly and professional stuff and great restaurant.
cannot recommend highly enough!
D. Z.
We enjoyed our stay at the Novotel. we have stayed in this fantastic hotel many times, and we were not disappointed. from our checking in, to a lovely complimentary bottle of wine for my husbands birthday, to a scumptious dinner, to the overindulgent buffet breakfast and the kind and conscientious staff. we will be back!!
M. S. Z.
This contemporary hotel is a 5-minute walk from Flinders Street rail station, 1.1 km from the historic Princess Theatre and 1.5 km from Crown Casino and Entertainment Complex.
The streamlined rooms and suites come with 40-inch flat-screen TVs, iPod docks and Wi-Fi (paid). They also include minibars and tea and coffeemaking facilities. Upgraded units add sofabeds. Room service is available.
There's an airy restaurant and a bar, as well as a gym and an indoor pool. Other amenities include an airport shuttle, laundry facilities and valet parking. Babysitting services are available for a fee.
M. M.
The staff were unbelievable and I couldn't rate them any higher. The room had holes in one wall and bits of plaster over the floor - there was greyled writing on the same wall indicating that repair work needed to be done. The bathroom shower was also mouldy. I wouldn't recommend wasting your money on staying here given those things. The bed was super comfy though.
B. S.
Frequent business traveller and usually have waiting in the room: robe, slippers, body moisturiser, body wash and amenities kit (cotton pads / swabs) - however these weren't in the room and had to call down to be requested.
On second day, returned to room after dinner (after departing the room for work in the morning) which had not been serviced. Tried to call down to reception & assistance hotline but there was no answer after several minutes, so went down to reception desk to request fresh towels and toiletries. Over 30 minutes after going down to request, towels and toiletries had not been delivered, so had to place a follow up call to reception (after which they were delivered promptly).
N. A.
Thank you for looking after my son and I during a difficult time. Your staff made us feel safe and secure and treated us with such kindness. Highly recommend this hotel...
S. T.
The hotel is great, we have stayed there for the past 3 years as we love being close to the CBD. Breakfast was included this time and the first morning we went down to eat the omelettes were stone cold, very disappointing, after that we went elsewhere for breakfast. I had to ask for a few extra tea bags as we didn't get very many in our room. On the day we checked out I was told I owed another $59 as I had been undercharged last November. That was extremely annoying as we booked in November, 2016 and paid $675.75 for 3 nights Sunday till Wednesday. I haven't checked my credit cards since returning home and do trust that I haven't been charged anything additional. I requested a Collins Street room and that was achieved. The staff are great as well especially the gentlemen on the front door, always helpful anytime day or night. I am not normally one to complain but as you are wanting feedback feel that I should mention it.
C.
Decent hotel and excellent location, amazing staff and service. The rooms can be a bit small, the king beds are two mattresses pushed together, the pool and gym are also quite small.<br/>The worst part is the internet, I needed to work out of the hotel room daily for a week and the standard complimentary internet was too slow to even browse pages so I was tethered to my phone. As I began to run low on data I enquired with the staff who tried their best to fix the problem including giving me complimentary premium internet which is usually $15 per day (I think). This was still quite slow and VERY inconsistent with frequent drop outs. After spending half a day trying to fix these problems I resorted to spending an additional $100 on mobile data as 4g is far more steady and fast than the internet here. (end rant).
M. F.
Lovely room, clean and well-appointed. Great advice on where to eat out and reasonably priced bar. I thought the restaurant didn't look very appealing compared to the rest of the hotel, although the menu looked good. Maybe screen it from reception and have dim lighting for evening?
R. a.
Location is fantastic, next to the Block Arcade, and handy for all Melbourne has to offer with trams outside the door. We stayed in a basic room and it was plenty big enough, clean and comfortable.
G. B.
Great location in the heart of the city. The room was spacious and clean. Staff were friendly and service prompt. Great selection on the buffet breakfast.
S. Q.
the room was clean and fresh every day and all staff were pleasant and helpful...as always. I always feel welcome and special when I stay at Novotel on Collins, which is why I don't bother with anywhere else when I stay in Melbourne. The most comfortable beds too :) Keep up the excellence!!!!
R. M.
A lovely hotel centrally located and adjacent to an excellent food court. Nice fitness area, pool and hot tub. Absolutely the best breakfast buffet I have ever had.
J. R.
Had a fantastic time at Novotel on collins! Staff were brilliant, the room was clean and well appointed, and the food was some of the best motel food I've ever had! We loved our weekend in Melbourne. Thanks for making it such a relaxing time.
S. K.
Great experience. Very friendly staff, always willing to help and very courteous. Really enjoyed the size of the room and also the view from our room. A very comfortable stay would definitely stay again. Highly recommend to everyone.
P. S.
Great central place ! Staff friendly and helpful. Rooms are nice and decent size too. Breakfast was fantastic , buffet style with loads of choices. Bar is relaxing with very friendly staff.
H. O.
Great hotel and good location right in the middle of the cbd. The staff are always very friendly and the rooms are modern and clean. The menu is also great regardless of whether your having room service or eating in the restaurant. Highly recommend this place!
A. M.
Lovely welcome downstairs by the young man. Check in was smooth. The room was lovely, room service was prompt, comfy bed and pillows!
We really wanted eggs for breakfast and enquired if they were free range, we were told that they were not. This was terribly disappointing. For ANY business to serve cage eggs in this day and age is unacceptable. However, after strolling the streets around the hotel for breakfast, we found that this situation is happening everywhere. I remain quite shocked, having worked in hospitality all over the country, it was unbelievable.
Novotel, I would suggest you look into the free range suppliers in your area, and use them!
It could be massive draw card and show that the company really cares where its food is coming from... as there was no other cafe in the area that used them either!
Something perhaps to think about.
Other than that. Our stay was satisfactory.
P. J.
We booked a Junior Suite online and were a little disappointed with what qualifies as a suite, probably comparing it to what would qualify as a superior room in other properties.
The location was fantastic and probably the best in Melbourne for access to shopping and dining.
Overall a good experience and we will stay there again.
I. K.
Absolutely excellent stay. All boxes ticked plus some. Green tea in my room (yay!), there's a pool, really interesting view over a modern lightwell space, great selection of Japanese scotch at the bar & reception (especially Te Rieva) is LOVELY.
Te Rieva remembered my room number from the previous night (I helped with which floor) & I when asked about a big poster in their foyer, she asked if I had kids, I said 3 & she had 3 gift bags delivered to my room!
Above & beyond. Well done, Novotel - Te Rieva is a keeper.
N. S.
I was very satisfied with my stay at the Novotel Collins Street, Melbourne. My room was beautifully styled and very comfortable. Breakfast was delicious and the choice was great. I will definitely come back again. I have also stayed at the Novotel in Darling Harbour, Sydney and it doesn't even come close to Collins Street. In fact, I was reluctant to stay at another Novotel because of my experience in Sydney but am so pleased that I did. Thank you and well done.
A. G.
Nice location on one of the main streets in Melbourne. Friendly staff. No parking and the fees are high for valet. Good room size. Walking distance to lots of great sights including the river and Chinatown. Close to lots of restaurants and pubs. Recommended
A. M.
Booking was easy through the Accor Advantage Plus telephone reservation system. Greeting at Reception was warm and friendly and an upgrade was made available at no charge. Our request for soy milk to be delivered to our room was dealt with quickly, as was our request for our baggage to be stored after we checked out the next day while we toured the city.
R. D.
What lets this property down is parking. I had two visits this week and both were not without events. The first I waited outside for the desk staff to get their attention and they were all to busy talking and mucking around to be facing the guest despite tooting the horn and then calling the hotel from the car. The second there was nowhere to stop as all the spaces for 5 min drop off were full ( yet there was no customers at the desk ). I then went around the block three (3) times to find that none of the vehicles had moved. I had no choice ( because of traffic ) to park over the road to unload bags and by the time I returned to the car I had a $155.00 parking infringement. This again did not please me at all. I have to admit this is the worst hotel I have tried to access in all my years as a member both nationally and internationally. The staff at the desk were fine and I had a complimentary breakfast voucher left in my room with a note which was a nice gesture despite the fact I don't eat breakfast but they would not know that. I doubt I would use this hotel again for accommodation or functions (past experiences have soured me on that one).
C. H.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Novotel during Grand Final weekend. The hospitality was excellent and location very good. It was a 30 minute walk to the MCG. The hotel is additionally located very closely to Bourke St which was great for shopping. Would definitely stay here again.
F. C.
I'm very grateful that Novotel made such a fuss over my husband for his 50th Birthday. The chocolates and wine were such a beautiful surprise for him. The room was spacious and service from staff exceptional. Thank you, this will be our preferred Melbourne hotel from now on.
R. R.
The hotel location is totally near from shopping centers, city attractions, cool shops. You could go to next shopping center by using the lift and connecting door/stairs at level 2.
The staffs were very helpful and the rooms were neat and nice. If I had a chance to go to Melbourne, I would like to stay at this place again.
M. C. H.
I stay at this hotel when on business in Melbourne and also recommend to my clients looking for a conference venue in Melbourne. Brilliant city centre location and first class meeting rooms. love the refurbished accommodation - comfortable beds, good work desk and a nice strong shower - just what I need. I've had some great feedback from my clients about Novotel on Collins and I've always had positive experiences too. Well done!
T. M.
"Excellent location","Room was good","Convenient for shopping","Near central area". Only one issue: I pre-paid the room and on registering, was asked for and paid a $100 bond. On the 2nd night, I ate in the restaurant (good) and charged …
J. F.
Had a two night stay at Novotel on Collins. Great location in the city. Breakfast was lovely and personal service great. But, parking is atrocious. Toured around for 40 minutes before finding parking. Could not get close enough to the Novotel to use their valet parking.. Went to use their small cold pool, even a 40 degree day could not make it inviting.
a. s.
I very much enjoyed my time, due to the location, staff, and facilities. I did find the housekeeping a little disruptive due to the time of room servicing- it was fine on the first and second days, but on the day when I had more time in the room it didn't "marry up", and therefore my room was not serviced. I had been out all morning, with the sign on my door to say so, and came home for a nap after lunch. The room servicing was attempted at 330pm. I totally understand this is what happens, and leave rooms get cleaned before stays- so it makes sense, just on the receiving end of it was different. In saying that, the room was clean and tidy, so that was a big tick
V. H.
Location is excellent, very convenient, I would give it 5 stars if it does get a renovation, rooms are older, also you need 2 set of lifts to get to your room but besides that it's awesome
E. P.
A great apartment with an awesome location in Melbourne city. The only problem was the amount of lighting that was in the hotel room. Apart from this slight problem, breakfast was good and there was also a gym and pool/spa.
Overall, the stay in this hotel was great.

Nice Ambience. Presents a Welcoming Aura. A Well-styled functional yet elegant design. Offers lots of facilities and space for public events and workshops. Situated right on the Collins Street easily accessible from Swanston, Flinders, Bourke, and Elizabeth Streets. The location is at a short walking distance from the Flinders Street Metro Train Station and tram stops on all surrounding streets within a circle of 50 m radius. The spaces are well presented and services are top-end. Popular venue for hosting public events and functions.

Great hotel in heart of melbourne. Easy access. Nice clean rooms. Basic tv and premium movie packages available. Kids area, gym and pool for the more active. Excellent buffet breakfast.
Do get some internal noise from halls, but little to no outside.
K. T.
You couldn't pick a better hotel in terms of location. Slap bang in the middle of town, in the 'Parisian' part of Melbourne close to lovely shops, cafes, the garden, Federation Square etc. On top of a shopping mall so easy to grab quick food, pop to chemist etc.
Staying in the new renovated rooms which are nicely done, free wifi, nespresso machine, reproduction Eames Chair in the room etc. No bath which is a shame. My room looks out on the atrium which sounded nice when I read about it on the website but in reality feels a bit claustrophobic and like being in a prison cell. The room service food is good. The pool is a bit small and crowded.
I think 3 out of 5 sums it up.

Great place to stay. I stayed for a week for work. Used their Gym & Pool everyday after work to wind down and had breakfast there every morning. Used their laundry service for my suits. The staff are very helpful & professional.
J. K.
Not really good regarding the checking in,room, housekeeping, TV reception and stations available. My first name was wrong in your system causing confusion and stress.
I requested a high level room with city views as per my booking paper work, I got the high level room over looking the shopping mall. While requests are not guaranteed I have always got them before in your hotel.
The TV picture reception on the footy channel was breaking up, I requested it be fixed on two mornings without any improvement. On the third morning they offered us a room change, as we were there for four nights what would be the point?.Then we noticed that the reception in the lounge dining area was just as bad, how could the staff not be aware of this.
We had to request a linen change as there was not the usual card re linen in the room also no botteled water until our last day
J. H.
Everything was great except parking. There is no designated parking area for check in, just a few parking spots along the street in front of the hotel, and they were occupied by a fire truck when we first passed the hotel. It took us half an hour struggling in the crazy streets of CBD before we managed to get back to the hotel. A hotel person helped us take out our luggage then took the car. After that, everything was a breeze.
M. Y.
Conveniently located in the cbd! Can’t be better than that! Surrounded by many many laneways and restaurants...
the famous glass tube foyer makes this place special as well!
While attending our day event here, we find their Nespresso coffee machine handy. Lunch was relatively healthy compared to some places. Satisfied and not overwhelmed
S. H.
Small entrance did not represent good name of Novotel
Staff is friendly, no complaints here.
Rooms were not ready for check in time.
Bathroom floor was not mopped.
Overall cleanliness was good.
Service were good.
Location is good.
S. C.
Excellent, This hotel is looking great. Breakfast was a little chaotic (minor) but it was Easter so all things considered ....excellent. We stay in Novotel relatively often and thought the hotel very well maintained and the fit out superior.
P. M.
To make a booking I had to give my credit card details.
This was days before the booking.
When calling to say I will be checking in late, I was told that to hold the room after 6pm ,even after supplying credit card details previously was asked to pay for the room in advance to hold it.
I shouldn't have to give these details twice.
When checking out was asked again for credit card details and then on my statement was charged 2 separate charges.
$300 for 1 night stay and another $400.
I asked what the second charge was about and it was taken as security. 10 days later still waiting for it to be refunded.
This has never happened at any other hotel and I find it highly inconvenient. I am an Accor member.
I will avoid Novotel in future if this is going to happen each time.
M. L.
It's a fantastic location in the city. Right around the corner is Elizabeth and Swanston Street which are great places for getting food and soaking up the atmosphere. Just across and through the arcade is deGraves for all your coffee needs. The staff are polite and helpful. Just great place overall. Lifts are lightning fast too. :)
C. W.
Hotel was very nice. Only one thing that spoilt our stay was the terrible noise we encountered at 8 o clock saturday morning. We were wanting to have a sleep in, but got woken up by this terrible noise of jack hammers . Spoke to lady in foyer, who said there was work going on underneath hotel. That is the only thing that spoilt our weekend. We would stay there again. It is central and easy to come and go.
C. A.
Staff were exceptional and the room was good. The mini fridge was broken and I reported it before I checked out (rm 1349). The only poor experience I had was in the gym with the dates and broken equipment. One of the recumbent bikes was broken and the machines that did work were old and in poor shape.
J. F.
We are always welcomed and feel special by the level of service we that we receive from all the staff and especially from Franzi.
We were there to celebrate my 60th birthday and Wife and I had a fantastic time.
We always find the Novotel on Collins to be a relaxing atmosphere and pleasant.
I would like to thank Franzi for making it a great weekend for us and it’s always a pleasure to see her.
N. S.
For Restaurant only - food and service was excellent. Large portions and everything cooked perfectly. Highly recommend. Only negative in my opinion is the uncomfortable chairs ... those standard round seat Cafe style chairs with the edge lip that digs into your leg. Solved by grabbing a cushion from another unused table. If no cushion available 4 stars.
T. M.
Great site at Collins St. nice room and helpful staffs. Thank you. One issue, they had a mistake-room service order, but A Korean server help us, ‘thank U very much’, I’m very sorry I don’t know her name. I’m looking forward to staying NOVOTEL Melbourne Collins again someday.
O.
Location is very convenient as it is in the city especially for people travelling for work. One of the downsides was that when i was trying to order food for in room dining, i called 3 times and no one picked up and got no calls back. I had to call the reception to place my order.
K. W.
I rate this hotel muchly.
A big shout out to Laura at Reception. She was a gem.
Tobias in the bar is an absolute credit to your organisation. The best type of personality to have in that customer service engagement role - pleasant, funny, knowledgeable and entertaining! Twas an absolute legend. Give him a high five from me!
S. W.
A great Hotel. Rooms are well appointed and comfortable.
Dinner was very good. Breakfast is very good as well.
Staff are friendly and helpful.
H. W.
I attended an event in one of the small function rooms. The entrance to the hotel is quite small, but once you take the lift up, you enter a nice sitting area with a bar. The place looks well maintained.
T. Y.
Nice, centrally located hotel. Stayed in Melbourne (was there for Boxing Day Test at MCG). Right at heart of action on Collins, near Flinders. 20-25 min walk to MCG/Yarra park. Hotel is good. Gym area a bit small (but decent new equipment). Would say dont bother with Breakfast buffet- so many good places nearby. Alley-way cafes, Brunettis.
L. W.
Junior suite is best choice for 2+ kids, huge room, great location and breakfast is really good with decent seection. Need a bit of a walk for more food options though.
B. F.
The room I received was well below par, it was like a room out of IBIS. Once I spoke to reception, they got me a new room in a speedy time. The room I eventually got was up to my standards. Love the gym.
On a bad note, the hotel did not seem very welcoming throughout my stay.
P. J.
Novotel is a nice place to stay its right in the heart of Melbourne city center.
Easy walk to Flinders st station and all the shopping areas.
It has a nice restaurant with good quality food and wine. The wauter service is also nice.
Room service is good thought the prices were a bit expensive though the size if the big breakfast is big .
T. M.
We had a lovely stay, our room was brilliant...so comfortable and well appointed. Check in and check out was smooth and professional. Breakfast was delicious. We look forward to returning,
f. p.
Wonderful helpful staff, particularly the young lady who delivered our room service. There was a slight issue which she went above and beyond to correct very promptly.
The rooms are exceptionally clean and comfortable.
C. S.
Fantastic staff . People sell hotels more than rooms do ,more than views do, more than position can . The staff here are the best. What more can I say ? Thanks for a great experience .
J. R.
The Hotel was not 4 star level as indicated. The refrigerator had left over food in it on our arrival. The fridge stock had not been replenished. The halls and lift appeared to be in constant need of cleaning. Complimentary water was only provided once in 4 days despite Accor Club membership. The tea and sugar provided were inadeqyte and not topped up.
A. L.
Nice hotel room. Clean.
-Room service overpriced, and no breakfast room service is disappointing.
-Hard mattress and firm pillows.
-Novotel tried to charge $9 for a phone call to their own concierge/vallet number on top of the $45 for vallet parking.
l.
Anniversary weekend so very well looked after. Check in was fantastic going directly to the member area and skipping the long line. Room was good but car valet was slow and difficult to park. Overall very happy.
J. S.
From the "Get-GO" to "Check Out" the stay was a breeze. Great customer service, great location and it's superb to be looked after by a happy team. To ice the cake, a hand written card from the Manager was a lovely touch and very personal. Novotel on Collins never disappoints.
D. S.
Good and consistent, this hotel always meets expectations, in a reliable, orderly and comfortable manner. The rooms and hotel is well maintained and the staff are warm, professional and helpful. It's good value for money and easy.
B. C.
Swimming pool rather small for adults to do any swimming at all. The rooms are nice and comfortable but hope they will do a refurbishment in the next couple of years as I have stayed at the hotel about 5 or 6 years ago and the place could definitely have a new fresh feeling to it
J. F.
Fantastic little plaza semi-attached to the hotel. Super clean facilities. Great location. Really happy with our stay here. Breakfast buffet was excellent.
A. G.
We enjoyed our stay however the bed was not comfortable, the TV remote needs looking at as it was very hard to get the TV to work. The room is looking tired and in need of repairs, the shower is showing signs around the joins with mould forming.
V. B.
The staff were extremely friendly and responded positively to our requests.
The room was spacious and clean, and fully equipped with what is expected by guests.
The location is ideal for exploring Melbourne CBD
D. B.
Friendly, courteous, efficient staff. Newly renovated, well-maintained rooms. Comfortable beds. Efficient, spotless bathrooms. Generous breakfast buffet with lovely views to Collins Street.
S. F.
Love this hotel, the buffet is amazing (especially during holidays). Staff listen to complaints and are willing to make your next stay even better. And it's directly on top of a shopping centre and in the heart of Melbourne.
G. T.
Great Central location within walking distance to both Flinders street train station and the popular eateries and cafes of Flinders lane. Ideal for both the business traveller and for families/couples couples looking to be close to Bourke St Mall shops, night life and walking distance to just about everything that Melbourne has to offer. If you can't walk there then trams & trains are at your doorstep.
Also less than 5min walk to high end shopping up Collins St as well as popular theatres and stage shows.
Hotel itself has recently been updated but there are also a handful of times that haven't although these are still clean and actually rather large in size. Pool and gym area is indoor and quite basic so nothing special here but found that depending on timing is generally very under utilised. Overall great hotel and fantastic central location.
G. S.
No windows to open in my room.
Aircon vents haven't been cleaned in years.
Chipped wooden furniture.
Surfaces not properly cleaned.
Staff service was fantastic.
A. M.
Lovely and friendly staff 5 Star.
Perfect location 5 Star.
Great breakfast 4 Star.
My business partner used to stay in another hotel, and he moved here. We were both more than pleased with the choice to move.
P. C.
This is always my go-to hotel whenever I stay in Melbourne. It is clean and tidy and the staff are always friendly and helpful. The breakfast choice is also very plentiful. It is located in a perfect spot which allows you to walk around the city easily.
B. H.
Great location within the central CBD with close access to the surrounding sites and sounds. Clean and well equipped rooms and decent amenities for the duration of our stay. Service mediocre, from front to back of house.
G. v. D.
Very friendly staff on check in. Loved the all night room service (I get in late from Perth). Again, the room set up is perfect for the way I work and having the complementary interwebs service as part of the Accor membership is just icing on the cake.
I choose to stay at this hotel when visiting Melbourne (admittedly my travel has been curtailed of late).
In reference to the question below "If you were not a Le Club Accorhotels member, would you have booked this hotel?" I would not have discovered this hotel if not for the Accor membership but I will do so regardless going forward.
A. K.
Good room service and comfortable beds but one night an emergency alarm woke us up at 8:36 AM. Wasn't that bad as we had our own alarms for 9 but if that emergency alarm was earlier would have been a rude awakening.
T. S.
The room was spacious and comfortable. The location was very handy for what we needed and the late checkout much appreciated.
Only downside was the jackhammers in the morning that spoiled the quiet.
T. G.
Rooms are comfortable and quiet and have a nice ambiance. Can enjoy a relaxing drink down at the bar in the evening away from the hustle and bustle of other city bars.
N. G.
Excellent rooms and incredibly well located near Flinders Station and the CBD. All staff were incredibly hospitable and willing to assist guest inquiries.
The menu at the onsite bar is arguably a little over priced considering the need to be competitive.
L. S.
Only one small issue. I asked for a 2pm checkout which was granted (Gold Accor privileges). However, house keeping knocked on my door, then rang my room phone before 12pm. Obviously there was no communication between front office and house keeping. Not big deal unless you worked till 6am like I had. Apart from that, awesome!
C.
Excellent service ! Everyone is always smiling and all staff go above and beyond. Stayed for 2 weeks with buffet breakfast and valet parking and I enjoyed every second. Very welcoming atmosphere
S. C.
My experience was good. My only criticism is that Novotel don't provide body moisturiser when most other hotels do (even the little ones in the country). This means I have to remember to bring my own and is one more thing that I have to pack when I am trying to travel light.
K. R.
This amazing hotel located on Collins Street is one that catches the eye - it is classy and has an amazing first apperance, and don't even get me started on how delightful the staff were!
We were offered valet parking and we were glad to take it for the low price it cost us, and everything was above and beyond the standard.
J. B.
I booked the hotel not realising that I had been there before and my visit was far from pleasant so imagine my surprise when i found it
VERY PLEASANT, staff really tried to meet my needs. My partner was in hospital, I was also very ill.
the hotel meet all my needs to help me feel comfortable, to the best of their ability,
A. W.
Fantastic location in the heart of Melbourne, nice room but not much of a view. Somewhat impersonal service. Nice (but sleepy) food court and shopping centre directly downstairs.
L. M.
We were central to some of Melbourne's finest locations, particularly the arcades and lane ways which Melbourne are famous for. Service was excellent, staff very professional and yet very friendly. The overall experience was very pleasant and left you with a feeling of looking forward to returning.
B. W.
Very convenient located in CBD, easy access to taxis & trams. Standard room feels a bit small in size, but fine for single occupancy on work trips.
D. J.
Located a short walk from the Bourke Street mall Novotel on Collins is a great base when in Melbourne. Most rooms outlook into the central atrium and have all the appointments you'd expect from a modern hotel room. The conference facilities were comfortable with flexible spaces for most purposes.
N.
Nice place to stay in downtown of Melbourne. Staff is very nice and friendly and always eager to help. Breakfast is having lots of verities. It attached to a mall. It is around 4 blocks away from the main railway station.
J. B.
This was one of the best hotel experiences i have had. Location was perfect, room was fantastic, food at the restaurant was really great and the staff were lovely. I will be staying here again on my next business trip to melbourne.
T.
Rooms were fantastic since they've been renovated with a good view too. Staff were helpful and friendly, only thing was there was a strange smell in our room not sure where it came from...
L. H.
Generally a good experience, but "mood lighting" in the rooms leaves them a little on the dark side for a business traveller who may want to work in the room as well. The restaurant/lobby bar has a good range of options and the Novotel healthy choices are always welcome.
J. L.
Service was amazing- allowed me to check in early as a room was available. They even upgraded me.
The room was comfortable, crisp and clean.
Quiet nights sleep- which is always what I worry about when in the city!
N. M.
My son and I had a really enjoyable stay.
Great value for money. Very warm and welcoming. Staff couldn't do enough to help.
I will definitely be back.
P. E.
We really enjoyed our stay. The staff were friendly and helpful and the food was excellent. The room was comfortable and the hotel very close to restaurants, museum etc
L. S.
Hotel was nice, service pretty good. Very disappointed to find the description of the room we chose from the internet did not really describe the room we had. I thought we had been given a lesser standard room but the receptionist assured us this was a queen premier room.
P. A.
This is our worst experience ever staying at Novotel on Collins. Our decision to utilise expedia discounted price was a disaster. The smaller bed was way too hard. Ended up with sleep deprivation. Must choose king bed next time.
M. B.
Other than the hotel lifts not operating, the staff managed well under the circumstances, however this caused a mild anxiety episode with our 7yr old son something that we didn't think we would be experiencing during what was a one-off treat for our boys that were able to attend the afl match at the MCG.
As a family we were also a little disappointed at the appearance of the pool, in desperate need of updating and the high chlorine levels experienced, which I know is necessary but seemed very exsessive and our boys had to wear goggles as their eyes were burning, and the spa was unbearable the first night we arrived too, even for my husband & I.
Staff and breakfast were very welcoming and satisfying.
Thanks
M. A.
A good stay. Efficient staff, a pretty good room - clean and practical. Massive plate of food delivered for an in-room breakfast with a very reasonable latte along side. Will likely stay here again.
S. S.
Location at Collins Street is great. Easy to find food, any kind of foods, Western, Chinese, Vietnamese, bakery and many more. Hotel above shopping centre, surrounded by high end branded stores and shopping mall. Near to Federation Square and Station. Transportation is easy. Even easy to find tour nearby at Swanston Street. Concierge very helpful and very friendly. Hotel even provided us by breakfast box while we can not have breakfast due to early tour at 5.45am.
M. D.
Location is excellent, right in the heart of the city and directly connected to all the shopping malls. Flinders street with all the fashionable eats is one block away. Staff is super friendly and the breakfast is very good by any standard.
J. L.
Novotel on Collins is located centrally in Melbourne CBD, near trams, trains and easy walking distance to many venues. The rooms are comfortable for two people, the service was excellent, all staff were very friendly and accommodating. I would recommend this hotel.
R.
Starvation rations - not enough food, particularly at breakfast where only processed snacks are provided. Constantly hungry. Only option is to order from room service, which only opens at 11AM, and is fully priced.
(Mandatory quarantine)
M. M.
Pleasantly surprised, most Novotels I've stayed in were motel grade, and Melbourne was pretty good. Couldn't get the WiFi going which was annoying, but everything else worked well, and check in and check out were particularly good - fast and efficient.
J. W.
We had an enjoyable stay at the hotel. I had not stayed there since the renovations and it was definitely a pleasant surprise. The family room we had was spacious and ideal for our family of four.
M. R.
WIFI is useless aircon is very fiddly , cant turn off ceiling lights without turning off everything pillows too hard with no option for soft... nice place let down by silly little things.
D. C.
I stayed here in August 2015. The rooms are spacious and staff was very helpful. The food was delicious. The location of the hotel is very good and you can do a lot of shopping at walking distance.
k. G.
I had a situation where my son become ill an ambulance was required. The staff where terrific in organising and their follow up and helpful assistance was magnificent.
I stay at accord hotels world wide , and compliment the staff in Melbourne for a job well done
E. M.
Staff where excellent in outgoing giving us top quality treatment during our stay. Not to mention the food from the Novotel was out of this world I would highly recommend staying here.
D. B.
Excellent location, clean & comfortable rooms, helpful staff & delicious buffet breakfast.
We really enjoy our annual stay at the Novotel and will continue to enjoy in the near future I'm sure.
J. K.
The Novotel on Collins is located in the heart of downtown. They offer free wifi and breakfast with many room packages. The rooms are good, but many face inwards towards the hotel plaza, meaning no natural light or view.
M. D.
Great experience. From the service from valet to the front counter staff, all staff members were friendly and helpful.
Its location is very 'central'. Close to restaurants and shopping is literally a few steps away.
My #1 choice when planning a trip to Melbourne.
C. F.
Really quality hotel which has been recently renovated. Good bar, good options for room service. Having to take two lifts to get to the room is a minor inconvenience. Rooms are spacious and modern.
C. H. L.
Hotel is located in the centre of Melbourne CBD, easy walking distance to many of Melbourne's attractions. Our room was lovely and comfortable with a very comfortable King size bed, view over the Atrium. Friendly service, smiling faces all round. Thank you very much to all Novotel Melbourne on Collins staff. I will be back.
D. J.
Staff were helpful and friendly, always smiling and polite - you have a great team
Rooms were comfortable and pool area was lovely - we enjoyed swimming
Excellent location in the city for what we needed to do - will recommend to friends and family and we will return to your hotel in the future
N. M. L.
Nice hotel in the middle of Victoria. I spend almost 2 weeks here last December. Walking distances to shopping centre, local attraction nearby and easy to get food anytime. Their services also quite good and friendly staff. Surely will come back again.
G. L.
Dropped in for drink at the bar. Reasonably quiet at 4 pm, service was friendly and prompt. Not what would be regarded as trendy but everything one would expect at a Novotel, a bit of class.
W. A. (.
Excellent location allows easy access to a number of laneway eateries. The impressive atrium is stunning at night. The rooms are comfortable and well appointed.
N. G.
Friendly staff and a great breakfast, however the rooms are a bit dated. Even worse I had booked a king size bed but unfortunately they were overbooked and I was forced to move to a queen sized room.
B. Q.
Excellent location and the check in & out processes are pretty smooth.
Reception desk staff are efficient & profesionally friendly.
The location is excellent
The restaurant dinner & breakfasts were great.
T. R.
Good rooms, great location and friendly staff. Pool and gym are small though and very noisy and busy during the school holidays. Breakfast is quite decent with a wide selection.
M. N.
Good venue for a work seminar. Morning and afternoon tea provided by the hotel was great but lunch choices were a bit limited. Staff were very friendly, attentive and helpful.
M. H.
The location is amazing! There were some renovations happening next door and unfortunately we didn't know about them as it wasn't posted on wotif. However when we mentioned this they were more than happy to help. We got our breakfast and room service paid for.
S. A.
Another stay at this wonderful hotel. The location in the CBD is so handy for shopping & restaurants. Staff are friendly and the room was large and clean (10th floor). Highly recommended. Will be back.
K. E.
Very happy with our recent stay here.
Staff were friendly and courtious and attended every need.
Optional buffet was a bit of a let down however but still highly recomed the stay
D. S.
Stayed here overnight while attending a conference at the hotel. Hotel team are very professional. Room was nice and tidy. Didn't get a chance to explore the facilities.
E. R.
The new rooms look fantastic, stunning ensuite and great views. Staff were friendly and helpful, only bad thing was there was a strange smell in our room not sure what it was...
M. D. C.
I have stayed at the Novotel on several occasions over the last 4 years. The rooms are clean and comfortable. The staff are great. The location is awesome. I've never been disappointed.
P. N.
Great hotel! Service is great, the amenities are great, the look and feel of the hotel is beautiful, rooms are clean and the location is right in the middle of the city. Not too expensive either! Would definitely recommend.
J. K.
Great location in the heart of Melbourne. Room was nice but could have some upgrades. Breakfast fine and my whole family had something to eat.
P. B.
Extremely efficient and courteous service. Dining and reception staff were exceptional and reception at the ground level entrance was outstanding best service I have had for some time. Keep up the good work.
V.
Great location and services at reasonable prices.
S. M.
Easy to locate, helpfule and friendly staff on arrival and on check out.
Relatively spacious room, well appointed.
Bar staff at a late night cap also very helpful and pleasant to deal with.
C.
Good clean rooms and service. Avoid the valet parking as it is faster to park yourself in the lot across the street (where they park your car anyway) and walk.
Definitely good value hotel and will use again.
P. E.
We really enjoyed our stay. The staff were friendly and helpful and the food was excellent. The room was comfortable and the hotel very close to restaurants, museum etc
J. T.
Attended a two day conference at Novotel. Warm welcomed experience. 5 stars customer services. No power socket at the conference room which make computer charging a bit difficult.
M. R.
WIFI is useless aircon is very fiddly , cant turn off ceiling lights without turning off everything pillows too hard with no option for soft... nice place let down by silly little things.

Front door staff very friendly and helped with parking my car. Both porters I would highly recommend.
Reception was similar. Friendly and helpful.

Pretty standard chain mchotel. Rooms clean and reasonably equipped. Sleep quality ok breakfast average.

The room was comfortable, crisp and clean. …
O. A.
Stayed for shopping (great location for the city malls and shops) and a concert at Melbourne Park (20 minute walk) so staying here was perfect. Great eating in the lanes so ate out.
Excellent staff and facilities, I recommend this hotel.
R. F.
Spare bed no so good, shower oscillating cold and hot this morning and 3 towels for 4 people. Friendly staff though. Very clean too.
T. H.
Staff were all very friendly. Room was clean and well maintained. The sound proofing was great. We couldn't hear any outside noises at all.
G. S.
Room was clean and tidy with basic amenities. Able to request for pillows to suit your needs. Location is great, at the heart of CBD.
L. R.
No USB ports to charge phones. Only 1 chair in the room. 1 bottle of water to share.
Complimentary birthday bottle of wine & nibbles was nice.
L. L.
Benjamin from concierge was the most genuine, kind and polite staff member we have dealt with.He has excellent knowledge of Melbourne and recommended a hidden treasure for our evening meal which was absolutely delightful. We will return for people like Ben.Thank you.
T. B.
I've stayed here a lot. Good hotel, great city location. Rooms are big, free upgrades happen quite a bit if you check in fairly late.
S. R.
Really well done refurbishment - rooms now first class. Excellent staff - very keen to be helpful. Breakfast recommended - good value by Melbourne standards.
J. L.
Big family room. very accessible to local highlight. breakfast was good, but not fantastic due to somewhat limited variety. would return to stay if back in the city.
C. d. J.
The waitress is ALWAYS so friendly we don't know her name but she has pig tails and is always so welcoming and genuine. Couldn't ask for a better staff member looking after us in the restaurant!!
T. M.
Your reception staff were very helpful as we arrived at 8am .We were given access to our room right away . The room was better than expected and location was wonderful .If we return to Melbourne we will definitely book again.
P. W.
The Novotel at 270 Collins St is a great place to stay in Melbourne. This is my fourth consecutive visit and I can thoroughly recommend the hotel.
M.
Nice hotel. Great location. For some reason they did not clean our room one-day. We we're out for the day.
W. C. M.
An enjoyable experience. However, gym and swim pool was not what I expected. I thought that the gym would be more well equipped and swimming pool would be larger. Overall the service was marvelous.
R. P.
The food and drinks there are amazing and not badly priced. The staff and welcoming and lovely, they always make sure you have the best experience you can while you're there. I've never come across a staff memebers which hasn't been lovely and helpful.
P. C.
Stay was excellent, service was excellent, room was good, didn't really use the amenities as it was only a short stay. Buffet breakfast fantastic as always.
D. B.
Fantastic service, staff amazing, room beautiful, perfect location. Just wish we had stayed more than 1 night before heading back to NZ.
W. Y.
Very convenient hotel. Stayed here during a major refurbishment. Would come back to see how things are when completed. Room was large and most importantly clean.
T. M.
Great conference spaces. Very limited accessible toilets ...made harder ehrn people without disabilities use them. One level 3. One on level 7. For Disability conference.
c. c.
Spent 2 days 1 night.
Friendly staff, good choice of food for breakfast and lunch. Tidy rooms, just need better lighting as was very dark still with all turned on
J. A.
The facility and the atmosphere are great. However, the housekeeper takes so long to deliver toothbrushes and other bathroom kits
J. T.
Attended a two day conference at Novotel. Warm welcomed experience. 5 stars customer services. No power socket at the conference room which make computer charging a bit difficult.
B. H.
Always a pleasure to stay in the well appointed rooms. Exemplary service, which makes the stay that much more enjoyable. Central to what Melb has to offer.

Not bad at all, pretty spacious, nice services... just that the sofa bed not that good and our room that time the pressure of the tap water in the sink bit small...

when checking out i pointed out that the breakfast charge was incorrect as it was not mine but a friends in another room. however I paid the breakfast as a gift for my friend, instructing staff to remove it from my friend's bill, which we found out later did not happen. thus the breakfast was paid for TWICE. somewhere the message didn't get through from one person to teh next as instructed (breakfast was supposed to be removed from teh other room's bill). this was poor attention considering the rest of the service.

Customer Service was excellent. I really enjoyed the breakfast in the Lane Restaurant. Great bed. Room could have been cleaner.

The best location in Melbourne CBD. Close to number of shopping malls, and there is a tram station right infront of the door. Loved their breakfast with their honeycomb as well!! Ideal for someone who wants to stay in the CBD.

We had an awesome stay. Fantastic costumer service. Very clean and location is great. Looking forward to stay there again.

Good location, room slightly on the small side (paid extra for a a deluxe king room). City view nothing special. Friendly staff. Overall good but not amazing.
R.
Staff were friendly and knowledgeable. Room was clean and well serviced. Only downside was that the pool was small and spa bath was lukewarm/cold
C. S.
Excellent location. Very friendly people that work here. Breakfast is very good. Room is very clean. Nothing bad really.

Just in the heart of Melbourne downtown, close walking distance to all the major sites around the city... this hotel is all location location location! Breakfast buffet in the morning had a wide variety of selection and was an awesome addition to the value.

Nothing was a problem at the Hotel and we got an added bonus of a late check out which worked perfectly for our flights and being able to have another shop before we had to pack up and go.

Novotel is present in Pune India and it is very nice hotel I gone there for my company party 50yr celebration
K. H.
Nice and central to everything. Beds and pillows too hard. Could do with pillow toppers on bed and softer pillows.
Staff and facilities very good, and breakfast was yummy.

The hotel is very well placed in CBD and has an amazing interior. The best part of being at Novotel is the customer friendliness of all the staffs
S. W.
Really nice hotel in a very handy location to everything in Melbourne City. Easy to walk to most things too. The buffet breakfast was great also.
A. M.
Room and location was great and staff were very helpful with any thing you needed, nothing was a problem for them. The location was handy to transport, restaurants and sport and tourist venues.
S. B.
Very conveniently located. Opposite this hotel is a tram stop.
Continental breakfast is sumptuous. We'll definitely stay there again if we are back in Melbourne.

Such a nice accomodation in the CBD.

Room was a good size. Location is great. Had issues with the lack of hot water. Other than that, it was a great stay.
j.
loved it. nice beds, nice rooms, perfect place.
J. L.
the bed was very hard and without a topper, just a very thin mattress protector that did not cover the bed. the water on Sunday morning was warm but not hot. no need to temper with cold water.
W. J.
Checkout procedure is a nightmare. Guests come from two different directions, to both check in and out, with nobody knowing where the line starts. The room was great. No other complaints.
P. D.
All went very smoothly from check in to check out. Only issue may be we were further-est from the lift to our rooms so was quite a walk for the mother-in-law who was with us.
R. S.
Great rooms, nice delicious buffet and a good bar with an amazing bartender when we were there
M. W.
I had a comfortable stay. The team is very helpful and friendly. Strategic location to stay. Thanks to the Novotel team for making me and my friend feel welcome. :)
J. S.
I felt the healthy food options were really limited for dinner. On multiple occasions I had to ring to chase up breakfast. I also noticed that whilst my bed was made there were a couple of days my bathroom was not cleaned
H. D.
The most outstanding attribute to this stay was the polite friendliness of all the staff - what ever training is applied, is working well. Long after the trip, one remembers the personal engagements.
R. C.
Great rooms, friendly staff & awesome central location with everything you could ever want just outside.

Luxury accommodation right in the heart of Melbourne. Our room fit 4 people comfortably. Very clean, good accommodation. Unfortunately, very expensive parking.
A. M.
Great location within walking distance to everything. Staff were friendly and helpful. .Good size rooms.
S.
Convenient location, clean rooms. Staff are a bit inattentive but otherwise things are good. Would happily stay again.
C. L.
Staff super friendly and buffet breakfast great selection. Honeycomb on toast and fresh tasty omelette.. Yumm.
A. E.
Great location in the CBD. The building itself is quite nice and the staff was wonderful. I can't think of anything to complain about.
F. H.
Thanks Novotel for providing exceptional services to my family when they were in quarantine.
D. M.
Apart from our initial visit at the entrance where we were unsure where to go & no one was there to greet us as they were busy conversing between themselves. We stood there for about 2 minutes before l was able to grab their attention. We were then directed up to 3rd floor where the staff were welcoming.
J. B.
Perfect location, so central to all facilities, walking distance or trams stops very accessible. Loved our time in Melbourne and hotel and staff were fantastic!
S. R.
We had a fantastic time at your hotel.

The staff were very helpful and courteous. I received a phone call a couple of days before our booking to make sure everything was ok. We were generally very happy with the service we received all round.
M.
Fantastic location. Modern bar and dining. Spacious bedrooms. Shopping mall access too. Would definitely stay again.

Once more the Novotel on Collins didn't disappoint with it's standard of service and close proximity to the event. Valet parking was particularly worth it and helpful.
s. e.
I stayed 4 night with 4 people in the room but only get 1 toothbrush have to ask for 3 more every day. Cups and spoons after used cleaner never clean .
S. P.
Really friendly staff. Hotel was exceptionally clean and maintained. Convenient location. Great facilities for training days or staff days.
J. M.
My husband and I were previously members of the accor program but we cancelled it over a year ago as it wasn't really working for us. I needed to stay in Melbourne for one night for a conference at the novotel so, when prompted, I decided to give the accor program another go and booked my first night at the novotel on collins. Let's just say early morning Hammer drilling on the one morning away from home where I didn't have to get up to my children was not ideal and I'm back to wondering why I bothered signing up for the membership program again.
J. S.
Came down with family from Gold Coast to go to the MCG. Decided to stay at Novotel on Collins because of central location. Glad we did as could walk to everything or if too far hopped on free tram zone. Would stay again for sure.
S. B.
Ideal location at the heart of the city. Good food. Pleased with room and the bathroom.
I would go back and stay in there again in the future.
Friendly helpful staff.
M. N.
The overall experience was phenomenal, great service and the room was beautiful. Would definitely stay here next time I'm in town.

Clean, quiet, great location. Bit of a hassle at check in. Had to provide my itinerary to get it sorted.🤨
J. R.
The room we last had was the best as it had an internal outlook. Staff ever helpful whether on the street, at breakfast, cleaning a room or at reservations.
J. R.
Great place in the CBD for family. Great Buffet Breakfast and nice service.
L. B.

Great customer service.Beautiful room.A little crowded on the lobby...but its Melbourne...simply worth the stay
J. C.
Great stay as always and nice that the manager remembers that I am a regular. Also enjoyed the late check out given traveling with family.
A. P.
3 weeks there and we felt like home. Not many hotels can say that. Thank all the staff that made our stay so nice.
M. A.
Great seminar room, though the breakout space following the presentation was quite small for lunch and networking. Great catering!
L. L. M.
Staff were extremely helpful and knowledgeable. Exceptional stay! The only drawback was not knowing how to adjust the heating. Maybe just me and technology.
J. K.
It was just a flying visit, and the location and standard of this hotel ensured it was stress free. The standard of service is very good, and meals enjoyable.
D. M.
It was great! Brought the wife and 2 kids and they loved the pool and buffet breakfast. Was a great place to stay with the family
M. M.
Staff great, rooms excellent, restaurant was used for breakfast and a dinner. Food was really nice
J. J.
Wonderfully friendly/ welcoming and helpful however the main drawback was the extremely loud air-conditioner/ the lack of dressing gown /no introduction to the loyalty program and rooms a little dusty and dated...
M. A.
Stayed here for one night, room was nice, big bed and all amenities were available to us. Staff were nice and friendly
P. P.
Food service for the event was timely, especially the yoghurt, however lunch was a bit uninteresting , the location it self was standard, given it was a training event, not a stay.
S. B.
Excellent service, comfortable beds and rooms were clean. Pleasing to see that you are using fair trade products.
S. N. U. H.
Nice location in the city, well presented rooms, polite staff , valet parking available but not cheap.
