Excellent stay. The accommodation was very clean. The Junior Suite was spacious with great views! It could use a little couch or 2 seats etc, but we were still able to use the long ottoman at the end of the bed to sit on. Staff were all very friendly and more that happy to assist. Shout out to the wonderful lady in the bar yesterday afternoon who was just a delight and to George on concierge. I would highly recommend staying here for the location and for the great service. We will definitely be back.

Thanks to the beautiful staff at Novotel who made my night getaway incredible! The staff member at reception generously offered me an upgrade with a room that had the most spectacular view. The room was spotless and the bed comfortable- just what I needed on a night away from the kids in years. A delicious block of chocolate was also left in the room for me with a personalised card. The staff at the reception and the bar were welcoming and helpful. They went to great lengths to explain to me in detail where I could go to watch the best sunset and locate all the shops I needed. I was incredibly impressed when I returned to the bar and one of the newer staff members asked me how the sunset was. His attention to detail, humour and interest in something that was important to me made my day. A staff member called George assisted me on my checkout out. He is a beautiful soul with infectious energy and the most genuine care for visitors. Thank you for looking after my bags and then helping me carry them out. You went above and beyond. In terms of improvements I would suggest the following ** but in not way did they detract from the brilliance of my stay! ** - Pizza base to be cooked more thoroughly. I ordered room service and it came still raw. When I alerted staff they were apologetic offered a refund a complimentary breakfast the following morning. It was no big deal. - All staff to wear name badges to up professionalism - Mushrooms offered at breakfast - Fridge kept at a colder temperature as I was there on a hot day and it was hard to keep my water bottle cold. Was a bit disappointed not to get Bay view room as requested for wife's 50th birthday, but that's the way it is I guess. . Rooms currently only being serviced every 3rd day and would be nice to be advised of this at check in. Mr Capanos restaurant has a nice array of cocktails and bar snacks of which we have sampled a lot. 1st days breakfast was amazing 2 poached eggs on 2 slices of sourdough with added crispy bacon nice generous serve. 2nd day same meal but waaaay smaller, see pic. Even though rooms are cleaner every 3 days ours has not.

The room is 25m^2 which is slightly smaller than normal. Room decor is excellent, modern, new and high level of quality workmanship. The view from the eastern rooms is very good especially with the large floor to ceiling windows. There is some noise from the highway even with the double glazed window. Internet is fast although do need to reconnect every 24hrs which gets a little annoying. The only downside was the heating system which didn't work and so was forced to spend the night in a room of 14deg. Called reception 8 times but it was never resolved. I think its partially an issue of the system being modified for different airflow as a quarantine hotel. Would have been a 5 star review but drop one star for the heating issues.

Though I was serving the dreadful quarantine but the hotel staff from all sections from the reception, F&B, nursing etc...they were just great. I was experiencing lost of anxiety issues but George from Reception was just divine. He listened , empathised and was there was so much of compassion and understanding in his voice... I so looked forward to his morning calls to my room which was a daily routine. Thank you George... you are the star of Novotel Hotel The nurses on site were just outstanding, Nurse Ruel ..thank you for all that you do and for seeing me through this quarantine which was emotionally very challenging Duty Manager, Garbielle...thanks for the yoga mat and my colouring books that kept my mind occupied giving my eyes which were welling up from time to time. thank you so very much If I can sum up the entire experience of this stay ... The staff literally lifted me from the ashes. Everything was just immaculate. Thank you so very much.. as you keep us safe inside our quarantined rooms...please do stay safe just as well Thank you so very very much...

Just wanted to commend this particular hotel at this time. I’ve not stayed here yet but live near by and have enjoyed seeing the effort put in to adjusting the room lights to show an overall picture. It was a lovely stay at the Novotel. The rooms are clean and relatively new! We had a good view of the city and river from our window! Hotel staff were very warm and helpful! There is also happy hours if you want a drink or two. Note that you need to take two lifts to get to your room and the hotel is a 15-20 mins walk from the CBD. Uber fare is around 10$ to the CBD! Nice stay!

Clean, modern and well-decorated room with a stacked mini bar and the most amazing steak sandwich I ordered late at night via room service. The staff are helpful and friendly, and parking (paid) is available close-by. To top it off, I had the most wonderful view from my room, as the window goes from wall to wall and floor to ceiling. Highly recommend this hotel. The only reason for it not being a 5 score is the location inside a cul de sac beside the DFO can be unbelievably busy. Everything else was exceptional. The customer service was brilliant. The room the bed the bathroom the pillows the cleanliness the modernness etc etc was all brilliant. It is just at the back of the convention Centre so is close to restaurants and the DFO shopping. Walking distance to many parts of the city. Pricing was very reasonable too. Highly recommend.

New hotel that maintains high standards throughout. My stay was short, only 4 nights, but the staff have remained consistent with the delivery of the service. Staff in this hotel are very friendly and hospitable. I asked for an early check in which was arranged promptly and you were greeted everytime you entered and left the building which I think is important in building customer rapport. Rooms are clean and modern, beds are comfortable and rooms are really quiet (although I was staying on the 26th floor). Location wise is great for dfo and if you want to enter cbd it's just a short walk and a tram ride away. A great hotel to stay at. Will stay again next time I'm in melbourne. We loved staying at the Novotel South Wharf. The location is fabulous near the DFO and restaurant and bar precinct as well as the Promenade. The room was spotless and very well appointed. (Great shower!) The staff were all really impressive. From the lovely Lisa on check in to the staff in the cafe and all of the concierge employees. They were all enthusiastic, polite and helpful. We loved our stay and will return in the future.

The food let them down. The service is great, the room was very nice. The smoked negronis are fantastic. However, the food was very average. We had breakfast once, and room service twice. Excellent location and property located in the CBD. Staff is very warm and receptive. Rooms are comfy with good views. Service is again as expected. Only wished the breakfast had a few more options for vegetarians (like other Novotel I've been to before) and had menu rotated daily. The stay was almost perfect. The location is pretty close to downtown, we arrived late at night so we had to buzzer in and use the intercom. We were able to check in and order room service late at night. The same guy who cooked the food brought it to the room which is pretty hilarious but awesome. The food was good throughout the stay, the bed is really comfortable. The rooms are small and there is no door in the shower which makes it really cold. We did have one issue though. We got the fruit plate one night and the watermelon was rotten. We ate the rest, and called the front desk to let them know. They had someone come get it. They then called later and said that they talked to the chef and they bought it this morning. I told them you can smell how rotten it was. They were really really rude, I think her name was Rita. At check out we mentioned it again. No one cared that we paid for some rotten fruit. Some ppl at the hotel are terrible but the majority was great!

Fantastic hotel great location and all staff could not have been more polite, helpful and eager to please. Right next to DFO great spot as we were there for an expo at convention centre. Staff were very eager and observed were working long hours as we checked in on first day of opening. If any hiccups they were certainly not noticible by guests. Loved the room styling and minimal decor concept. Great bathroom and was cleaned and restocked everyday. Had a problem with our flight so had to extend stay an extra day. Reservations Manager Jess was very obliging with an additional night room rate. Reception offered to book us a taxi the evening beore our early check out anticipating our needs. Cant thank all the staff enough for your wonderful welcoming hospitality. We were greeted and acknowldged every time we walked in the door on ground floor and past the reception desk. Great new and modern hotel. It's very well situated if you need a trendy well located hotel that's easy access to the freeway if you heading east or west. I always recommend this place and use it frequently when attending events and trade shows at MECC. There's plenty of parking but you do need to book early as pricing can really shoot up during events

Where do I start?! From the moment we stepped foot in the hotel we were greeted with warm and friendly smiles from the amazing staff. The room was perfect to accommodate 2 adults and 2 kids, the view was beautiful, beds and pillows were super comfy. The location is great close to everything. I cannot recommend the Novotel South Wharf highly enough for couples getting married. The whole process from booking to checking out was smooth and organised by the Novotel hotel staff. We both got ready on the morning of our wedding in separate rooms. The Novotel were very accommodating to arrange the rooms be on separate floors, and even arranged a bottle of champagne as a wedding gift from them. The Novotel staff were so helpful and accommodating, allowing us to have many guests and suppliers come and go on the morning of the wedding. This was much appreciated as the bride, as I did not have to worry about my family or suppliers not having access to my room, the hotel took care of this all and made no fuss with the constant stream of people that you need on your wedding morning. We felt like very valued guests and they shared in our excitement for our big day too. A number of our wedding guests stayed the night of the wedding and commented on how modern and clean the rooms were, they were very happy with their stays too. Thanks Novotel for allowing us to have a stress free wedding accommodation experience!

Clean new rooms in an ideal location if you are attending an event at the attached convention center. Unfortunately the hotel appears to have been an afterthought to the center, and is basically a long hallway seemingly engineered to create human bottlenecks and traffic congestion. Minor annoyances add up. The breakfast buffet is mediocre and highly overpriced; some of the menu items are very good though. Early one morning our television loudly turned on while we were sleeping, for no reason that we can discern. The room towels were worn to the threads in places. An insufficient ratio of elevators to rooms means that at a busy checkout time it might be the 6th elevator that stops that finally has room. If you give up and take the stairs, you will just end up hiking back up them because there is no way to exit the stairwell onto the 5th floor which is where the reception is located. Desk and telephone staff were confused by simple requests in both the checkin and checkout processes. If you just need a place to sleep that is close to your event, your employer is paying, and you are willing to eat in the many excellent restaurants available a short walk away - and you're not ever in a hurry - this might be an acceptable option.

It was my birthday when I first stayed at Novotel, the staff were extremely helpful and kind. After checking into our room, one of the kitchen staff arrived at my door with some chocolates and slices with a personalised birthday card, which I was extremely greatful for. Booked a room for one night.. first, a receptionist gave us a disabled room.. the bathroom looks like a hospital bathroom.. we went to reception if we could get a room the one in the advertised picture.. different receptionist gave us a king size room.. we were very glad that he upgraded us to king size from queen size room.. the room was clean, the bathroom was clean but the air conditioner was faulty...we couldn’t control the temperature.. the temp was at 23.9 degrees celcius we tried to set it to 18 degrees but it wouldn’t work..The air conditioner was fan only, no cooling. we called the reception and they said they would fix it but no.. it was a very uncomfortable night..the bed sheet was so wrinkly and the pillows were too big... so disappointed.. but thank you to the lady in the reception who didn’t charge us for the parking because we had a bad night..

Very nice and new hotel that’s just next to the outlet mall, which is convenient. About 30 minutes walk to the casino and you get to see the city as you walk, which is really pretty. Good location! The rooms are clean and new. The only downside is the house keeping service. Called 3 times and had to wait for about an hour just to get a toothbrush and a bath towel.

Nice new hotel, best suited to people going to the conference Center or crown casino. Definitely not central but the standard of the hotel makes up for that, for a similar price you could find a smaller 3 Star hotel in the Center of the city, so it depends where your priorities lie. Otherwise it’s about a 15 minute walk or tram ride into town, still there is the Southwarf DFO shopping Center located in the basement and lots of restaurants nearby. Staff were friendly, they did charge my credit card for a packet of Pringles (that I didn’t eat) after we checked out, but when I called to question it they were apologetic and refunded my card.

The Novotel is in a great location next to the convention centre. Room was just a basic hotel room but had a fantastic view. Check in was quick and easy and staff were very good. My only complaint was the bed, it was too soft for my liking but that's just peronal choice.

Fairly a new hotel with nice views and close to Dockland even though it’s on the other side of Yarra river. Good bed, even though I like to sleep on the floor, and thick pillows which I don’t like, just had a twisted neck in the morning. Good security system with swipe cards that didn’t work, so I had to go back to reception. Staff is really nice and friendly. Get the Uber app as sometime it’s hard to find a taxi like outside office business hrs. I like hot coffee so make sure you say so, as barista is on different level.

I found the confusing layout stimulating in a way. Like you've got the concierge on the ground floor and then reception up on level 5. What's in between? No one knows! The elevator doesn't even stop on those floors. Honestly I can see the need for ASIO to be in South Wharf but doesn't leaving those numbers out make it rather obvious?

This hotel is located in the best spot ever! Right next door to the Melbourne South Wharf DFO and Melbourne Convention Center. The rooms here are so nice and modern. Bed is comfy and you have a selection of pillows to choose from. The room service menu is nice very gourmet, i ended up ordering 2 entrees for my meal which was the scallops and salt and pepper squid followed by a delicious Chocolate desert. Highly recommend staying here.

Great service and accommodation. Concierge and reception staff were very helpful, I had lots of luggage for work and had a large robot delivered to concierge desk, they handled it perfectly. Down side of the stay is that you have to change lifts between reception and rooms. Not the end of the world but not convenient.

my partner and I treated ourselves to night in city choose stay Novotel.. Must say lack signage wasnt sure where to park. Opted for self parking in the end. Welcoming staff seemed to be alot of them which was handy if unsure where to go. We sat in little coffee area before checkout just near reception was very noisy from restaurant upstairs as was breakfast time. Room however was perfect for two of us view was ok we faced towards westgate so not as picteresque that Melbourne known for just alot of traffic to watch. Need room facing other way next time. Enjoyed a drink in restaurant loved the outdoor area heater there was fantastic as friday night was cold. I guess only think lacking was no pool so prob not a place i would stay with my teenager as she be bored just sitting in room. However wifi would keep her happy

I usually stay across at the Pan Pacific but due to the price difference when we were looking for a single night stay I thought I would give Novotel south warf a try. I am glad I did. We had an excellent stay with solid customer service. The split elevator/reception deal is a little odd but nothing to worry about. There is real competition now for local events and I will likely choose the better priced option.

This was our first time here. We had lunch at the restaurant. We ordered the pasta with tiger prawns. The fettuccine was hand made but unfortunately it was way too thick and not cooked enough. Probably the worst pasta I have eaten. Being Accor members, I couldn't justify paying $36 for less than average pasta. The Porterhouse steak meal was nice. Cooked perfectly. It just needed more sauce. Desserts were the highlight. Very creative and delicious. The restaurant was nice. There was only one other group having lunch. The air conditioner was set too high and it was a bit cold. Service was good and staff friendly. There was a muck up with the bill, which was frustrating. We worked it out in the end. Overall, have had tastier and better prepared meals at other Accor places.
