C. R.New ownership. Booked in to take advantage of their parma night but they no longer have it. Meals served in bar rather than bistro due to small number of reservations. We had a group of 8 and had cheesey garlic bread, parmas, pumpkin risotto, calamari, kids meals and the chili prawn linguine. Service was friendly and prompt and we all enjoyed our meals. One of the best prawn linguine dishes I've ever had! Will be going back!
S. V.From the time we booked our Accomation in the phone till we got here at the reception have been outstanding. The rooms are beautiful and clean and only 5 minutes from the airport. Cannot recommend staying here as we will be again.

K. S.I like this place but it can be hit and miss sometimes. The service is reasonable and the food tasty (good portions) but the menu doesn’t really change (which is great if you want the same thing but if you go a few times and you want to try something new you can feel limited in your options).
I know they get super busy and I can overlook plates not being cleared, even when the wait person has empty hands!, but the thing that irks me is having to chase things up more than once.
When it’s good, it’s great but it is a relaxed place so expect the service to be the same at times.

R. T.When attending with family last Christmas, for the first time, I was happy with the food and service. I was surprised by the rigidity when attempting to order from the menu. A member of my family asked if she could have the spaghetti bolognese, which was only available on the children’s menu. Even though we had no children in our party, we would be more than happy to pay full price for the meal. Unfortunately we were told, after many attempts to request, we could not order the spaghetti bolognese. The member of my family could not eat anything else on the menu, which made our Christmas dinner a disappointment.
Our visit was Boxing Day 2017 and the waitress had short mouse coloured hair.
I returned again with my family in early 2019 and found the service and environment very pleasant. The young male waiter along with the other waitress with “short mouse coloured hair” were very helpful and efficient. I like the iPads which assist the waiters with the ordering. On this second occasion we did have children in our party and they really enjoyed the kids play area.

D. J.Called in for lunch Thursday. The bar area is aged and feels exactly like it would have in 1987. But I gotta say, they have a Mixed Grill on their menu and any pub still rocking a mixed grill gets a tick from me. Steak, lamb cutlet, rissole, bacon, 2 eggs, all cooked to within an inch of their lives, chips, gravy and home made onion rings. It's a piece of Aussie pub history we sadly see too little of any more. Do it just for old times sake.

M. K.Exemplary food and service! Our farmstay host at Diggers Rest recommended us this restaurant and we drove there for dinner. Loved their scrumptious steaks, ribs and carbonara! But what impressed us most was the dedicated staff there. We returned again for lunch the next day and their food and service turned out even better than the night before. Highly recommended restaurant!

e.Well, I have to say the meals here have become sensational! I have been visiting Black Horse for the past 4 yrs. I'm a steak connoisseur and will hardly order steak out but I've been back for the eye fillet many times over the past few months. So tender!!! The chairs need upgrading only to keep up with the food presence - fix them and they will have one hell of a pub!!

S.I don't usually review however, we had a Birthday party at the Black Horse Hotel last night our meals were very good the atmosphere was relaxed and staff were attentive - They had a band last night which we thought were terrific called boneshakerz i think, something i have never seen before the bass player was down the back of the pub checking and adjusting sound levels ! Anyway, great pub, great night we could all talk and still hear the music, well done we will be back again for sure. thanks

B. L.Excellent staff. Most of the food was good. The steak was cooked perfectly but one of the worst pieces of meat to ever grace a plate. So rubbery I had to send it back and swap it for a parma after two bites. I won’t bother with this place again which is a shame as there were some things of interest on the menu.
