Stayed here with a friend for three nights. Stylish, well located, and comfortable hotel. Well priced and immaculately presented rooms. Cocktails in the bar were lovely and food in restaurant also looked delicious. Staff were professional and helpful. Will definitely recommend to friends and go back to stay again.

Great location in the heart of the city. Good, clean rooms at a fair and reasonable price. Very hard to beat. Breakfast is now ordered from a menu however, I remember it used to be serve yourself buffet which was much better.

Stayed the night 🌙 in the Heritage or older rooms.
Great 👍 bed , slept 😴 well.
Clean and comfortable.
Had not started breakfast yet due to covid and renovations to the Bar area.
Central to all.
Thank you.
Stayed here over the last 40 years.

At the time of staying, it was a reasonably priced room that is in an excellent location and has tonnes of promise for a more luxurious stay following some renovations to areas of the hotel.
The staff were excellent, the rooms were clean and I can't fault any aspect of my stay. I would recommend the hotel to anyone looking in Melbourne's CBD.

I highly recommend staying here in the city. The rooms aren't very fancy but functional enough. What makes this place awesome is the location, all needs and entertainment are within walking distance. Being across the street from the Luwow ensures the street noise is lovely and not annoying. I highly recommend staying here for short stays in the middle of Melbourne

Great location.. Handy walking to most locations in the city. There is some on-site parking. But also discounted off site parking. I had an over height ute. Joe on site and another worker made a special effort to get me in their parking. Busy reception and clean and tidy rooms. A/C was good with 38° outside. I really would recommend this Hotel.

Handy location, neat clean, reasonable value for money being in the heart of Melbourne. Our room was a long way away through several corridors to the lift which was slightly annoying.

Clean and comfortable, checking in was easy and the staff all were very friendly. Central location for easy access to the city and tram stops close by. Definitely will stay again.
J. R.
Really comfortable hotel, clean basic set up but a great location. The pricing was also good. Pity the onsite bar wasn't open but the bistro was nice
L. C.
Friendly staff, nice clean rooms, plenty room for the family and great central location in the City.
M. M.
Central to everything in the CBD, clean spacious and very affordable when on a budget as I got the room for $100 for an overnight trip for business which I only needed to sleep in as I was out for most of the day/night but would stay here again!
Had its own laundry room with washers and dryer, gym, pool/spa (not working due to ‘covid’) sauna as well so not a bad hotel at all was very surprised.
Z. K.
Great location, right in the heart of the CBD. Friendly staff, nice room and they let us check in early.

Looked as though the carpets weren't vacuumed. Dust behind both doors and on bed head.
Room was big and toilet and shower very clean and modern.
First night there was water dripping all night out side window.
Staff very friendly and helpful.
Position in town is great for getting around the city.
Plenty of bars and eateries.
Close to all transport.
Apart from the problems mentioned. Had a good ,pleasant stay.

I had throughly enjoyed my stay there. All staffs were professional and punctual. Rooms are spacious and clean. Perfect location: tourist information center, cafes and restaurants are in the close proximity. Great breakfast and restaurant next door.
L. C.
Location in great- next to Town Hall. Staff were very friendly and efficient. Room was clean and a good size. Updated bathroom. Loved the big shower! Would definitely stay again and recommend to others. Fantastic price for central location.
A. V.
Had room service or whoever it was try to walk into my room twice, while I was in bed. No room service and the car parking situation, it's actually cheaper to pay the carpark not the hotel. Was charged $60 for two nights by the hotel, when the actual parking was $53.70, was too late as o already had prepaid the hotel for it
H. G.
Very good location, clean, good service, and good value for money

Clean room. very small. Bathroom is tiny. Knees almost touch the wall when on the toilet. Bed is comfy with lovely sheets. Air con very loud and only blew hot air overnight. making the entire floor very hot and stuffy. Not ideal after a big night out.
M. H.
Lovely place, clean and in the middle of the City! Staff are awesome!
C. D.
The hotel is very nice and conveniently located. Room was clean, beds were comfortable and shower was big. The pool and games room were great for the kids. Most of the staff were amazing and friendly. Sadly the restaurant is not available at this time. The thing that really let this hotel down is unfortunately the parking situation. We were able to get an on site park on arrival, paid upfront for the privilege but didn't have a spot when we returned later in the day. Parking is available at their off site facility- if you don't have small children its probably not a huge deal as it is quite close, but very inconvenient for us.
Only dealt with one very rude staff member at reception who made us feel like we were ruining her life by needing to use our own vehicle, I would say the negative reviews I've read regarding staff are most likely about her because everyone else was absolutely lovely.

Dinner was great, nice Hotel Worth the stay or visit. Cheers

Great place, well located.
The fire alarm as a wake-up call was unexpected.
So was the pool, sauna and gym.
The coffee shop out front is brilliant.
The assistance from the staff was absolutely brilliant!

Location, location, location. The "Victoria" is in an ideal location for exploration of Melbourne City centre with affordable 24hr parking and public transport close by. The room/s we had were compact, but very clean, comfortable and included tea & coffee making facilities. Staff were friendly and efficient. To summarise, it is an ideal short stay Hotel to explore the City centre at an affordable price.

Our family (parents with 8 &10 year olds) were very comfortable in our spacious room.
Beds were really comfortable for us and linen fresh and clean.
I left a shirt hanging in the wardrobe which I forgot on leaving. I contacted the hotel and Amy diligently followed up the matter until my shirt was found and held for me to collect.
Thank you to Amy and staff aff the Vic. We look forward to being able to spend more time enjoying the Vic itself next time. It's so well positioned in the cbd everything is within reach.

Very handy ! We were on the 3rd floor the view out of the windows was dreadful, but at least we could open them, stayed 5 nights in March.
. Nonetheless we have booked again for September .Don't mind changing lifts!

Nice hotel in the CBD.
Stayed here for a night.
The room was quiet not much of a view but didn’t matter as we were out most of the time.
Staff were helpful and courteous.
Room wasn’t quite ready so we waited for about 10 mins staff were nice and gave us a bottle of wine on the house for the delay.

Great stay, really comfortable and inviting. Third time now and they have never let us down. Simply amazing and well priced.
M. B.
Great location and good price! Stayed for 3 nights on a ‘girls trip’ and it was a perfect base to reach the city and to visit friends in the inner suburbs. Easy tram/train access and walked straight out to the shops. Saw a musical at the Regent Theatre around the corner, was very easy to get there and back at night. Hotel is a little older initially, but also it’s got history, so that’s cool! Bathroom and room modern, with plenty of space, although the carpet was lifting in the middle of the room, but wasn’t much of an issue just aesthetics.
S. T.
Lovely hotel with a Victorian charm and lovely ambience. Staffs are super helpful and courteous. I stayed here for 13 nights and enjoyed the stay every bit. Initially I was checked into a room which was a little noisy but on request to the reception, I was provided a beautiful and quieter room. And the location is bang right in middle of CBD. So lots of food and excellent connectivity Thanks to the team. Will surely stay there when I visit next.

Stayed here for 1 night with a friend. The hotel is in a great location, walking distance to a number of bars and restaurants. The hotel is very well presented and the staff very friendly. Our only issue is that we tried to put the AC on and it blew out warm air and the screen door on the shower needs repairing as it does not slide. Other than that we enjoyed our stay and would definitely reccomend and stay again. Great value for money and hotel parking for the night is very reasonable. Free wifi is available throughout the hotel which was another great feature.

Stayed over the long weekend in June and we absolutely loved every minute of staying in this hotel.
It was extremely clean and even though the restaurant and bar were closed due to COVID-19, the friendly hospitality of the staff made us feel very welcomed and safe.
The foyer is gorgeous when you first walk in and we were given a free upgrade without even asking.
Not only did they allow a late check (after lunch) they kept our bags until our 7:30pm flight back to Sydney which we really appreciated.
Location is a bonus as it is in the middle of Melbourne’s CBD yet the rooms are peaceful and quiet.
I will definitely be staying there again!

Best value! We stayed one week & it is hard to fault. A comfortable & convenient home-base that made for a wonderful experience. It was excellently maintained, had an efficient reception, was central, quiet, clean, easily accessible, secure, had a wide range of room facilities, had great extras (dining, bar, car park etc) easy admin (book in/out etc), quality customer service (incl. housekeeping), and was an appealing & inviting authentically updated old-world style building (internal & external) including materials & spaces.
J. P.
Super friendly staff who couldnt do enough for you, nice spacious rooms and great location. Parking is a bit tight but missed out on using their car elevator (tow bar was just to long) would be nore then happy to stay again.
L. D. G.
Filipino receptionist is fabulous! Love the heritage queen room, easy access to shopping centres and trams. It would be great if there's bathtub but the spa and indoor swimming pool on the 6th floor is fantastic. It's our 2nd time here and my son loves it. Will definately stay here again on our future travels in Melbourne.

Great position. Good price. Average rooms. Average amenities. Very noisy at night, can barely sleep through the reversing truck beeps, people screaming and laughing, music etc. I was on the third floor of west wing. Avoid it at all costs. Not to mention the office workers next door looking straight into your room. Very voyeuristic. All in all, I wasn’t unpleasant.
G. G.
The room 403 is good and bad at the same time. The curtains are so high, its almost impossible to close them. The office workers next door are looking straight into the room. The Sony tv is magnificent. The bathroom is very good, especially the Methven shower head. I have the same one in my own bathroom at home. The room is poorly set out, cluttered but with lots of void space. The walls are very thin. The noise outside and the noise from other rooms is quite audible. The position of this hotel is fantastically placed in the CBD. All in all, I've experienced much worse.
C.
The hotel was good value for money for what I needed. I spent very little time at the hotel over the course of my stay and it was reasonably priced. The issue with the basin pipe was quickly rectified by maintenance and new towels were …

The rooms were large and very well fitted out. The staff were very helpful and friendly. We will definitely be staying here again. Thanks for having us.
t. c.
Very clean , very helpful staff, and location was perfect only short walk to everything , great price for location , I can recommend for anyone on tight budget and want to be able to walk without taking public transport this is already right in the heart of everything , room is small but comfy and clean
N. N.
Staff were good and hotel is located in a prime location. Only 4 stars due to being able to hear other guests (usually quite loud) from the hallway and poor wifi.
M.
Perfect location! nice hotel although the view out my window was not one you would want the curtains ope to... My view was the inner building where a pot sat with a dead pegion and two pegions living in a pot next to it... The service was good, and the room was clean and well done. I would stay again if i got a better view.

4.5 stars. Reception was quick and efficient providing us with access cards for both the lifts and our room. The room itself, while not spacious, was immaculately clean. There was no view to speak of, and the bathroom, though small was very modern and again, very clean. All the usual extras were available- tea, coffee, etc. In terms of location this hotel was great- just minutes by foot to many popular spots - Block Arcade, Australia Arcade, Bourke St. Mall, Emporium and many popular restaurants as well. Overall, would highly recommend.

Not knowing it's historical value to the city, I booked the Victoria Hotel as a matter of budget and proximity to my meetings. Check-in was warm and welcoming, yet the rooms are via a totally irregular maze of corridors. I found it more useful to guide myself via the hotel floor plan, than actually following the arrows to my room. The navigated path was TWICE as long as the actual shortest route. The rooms were recently upgraded, bathrooms were small, yet had a massive shower space. The old dryer clip was still attached to the wall and could possibly cause injury to someone inadvertently. Plus it looked unsightly. I loved to fishtank behind Reception, and the joy it brought to both guests AND staff. Had a great conversation with a guy who was in love with the "Dory" fish and knew all of their personalities. I'll definitely be back. On a side note, I read that the rooms have Netflix. In actual fact, the TV's have the ability to host Netflix, and some guests have inadvertently left themselves logged into the TV's. If your TV Required a system update, just connect it to the hotel wifi and let it to its own work. Note to past and present guests, if you don't want to share your account, log out. Otherwise, thanks for sharing!

Friendly and supportive staff. Excellent WiFi. Rooms are what you'd expect from a 3-star hotel; comfortable but unfancy. The hotel wins 5 stars by virtue of their staff's helpfulness alone.
N. S.
Great location, surprisingly pleasant rooms that are a good size. Have stayed here twice now & this has been the consistent experience. Staff could be a little more friendly though - just a little cool. Haven't tried the on site food yet - maybe next time.
R. C.
The staff were welcoming and professional.
My first visit since the games room was added. I was impressed! I hadn't played pinball in years. I can't wait to return when renovations to Vic's Bar are complete. This hotel is improving and impressing on each visit.

Had a weekend in the city and spent two nights here. Managed to score a parking spot at the actual venue which, while expensive, was very convenient. Check in was quick and friendly. The room was not large, especially the bathroom, but everything was very clean. Breakfast was served in Mister Munroe's next door. The food was basic but not replenished very quickly so it was a bit of a lucky dip as to whether you got crispy or cold bacon and if there was butter for your toast. Likewise, you might get a cup or a mug for your tea. My advice, go to breakfast early. Was surprised by the lack of ambience for such an old and historic hotel (140 years old) - the mezzanine level was the only place that acknowledge this at all (you had to go looking though!). The pool is small - really just a dipping pool (the pictures on the website which cuts off the end but that is its actual size); disappointing if you are after something in which you can swim laps.

For the first two nights we stayed in an apartment room which was nice, roomy and clean. The only downside was the blocked out windows. I guess the views is probably poor but still not having any natural light was a bit weird. On the third night we stayed in a standard room and it was a lot less nice with damaged furniture and much older looking. Overall good for the price and the on-site parking was convenient. Staff are friendly and knowledgeable.

A nice historic yet functional hotel right in the middle of CBD. We were greeted very cheerfully and the staff at the reception was very gracious and friendly. The room we had was nice, big and spacious.
morning breakfast spread could be better and Their service is a bit lacking.
It's close to the tram station. lot of eateries in walking distance and a few attractions too.

This is a good 3-star, budget hotel right in the heart of the city. Excellent location and staff are very friendly.
We stayed here on the weekend, and even though check-in is usually around 2pm, our room was already prepared by around 10am in the morning. The hotel seemed pretty full as well - very diverse range of guests.
Our heritage room was nice - a bit dated, but comfortable. Parts of the hotel seem to recently have been renovated - new carpets and fresh paint.
The swimming pool is nice but tiny - measures maybe 3m x 3m and around 1.2m deep. It's on the sixth floor and is complimented by an above-ground spa and a sauna as well. Plus gym for workouts. Towels are provided but not sure if they get replenished much. We went around 4pm and grabbed the last towels.
The room cooling/heating is good and fast. Either it was really hot last night (it was fairly warm) or the rooms just hot. I was tempted to turn on the air con overnight. The winding windows would've done the trick as well.
Buffet breakfast is quite extensive but not that tasty or flash. No made-to-order coffees or teas, and the one coffee machine is limited to long black and something else. Not much choice. Heaps of fruit juices, pastries and cereals, and fresh fruit. The scrambled eggs are bland and rubbery.
If you can get a cheap night (join their loyalty program, as it's linked to other hotels!), then definitely consider as a budget getaway in the city. More of a once-off novelty for us. Not up tob the standard of other hotels like The Langham, Crown Promenade or Towers, or other five-star hotels, but an affordable excuse to stay in the city.
P. B.
Was pretty good.
Great location and the room was spacious. Although during our stay did encounter a rather large white tail spider on one of the beds as well as the overall cleanliness of the room needing a bit of work
Overall good stay, staff were friendly and helpful especially joe in the hotels car parking area. He was great

This was a lovely hotel! The staff were wonderful and friendly, cleaning was fantastic! The hotel is undergoing renovations at moment (August) which will upp the quality of the hotel beautifully. The renovations did not disrupt anything so it was good. The heating was excellent and the room warmed up so well that it got a little hot but open one window balanced the temp perfectly so it worked well ;). The only things I need to say is please please, in the older rooms, update the beds! They were very hard to sleep on and I disliked the pillows! Horribly soft and floppy. I normally dont complain about pillows but these ones made my nights sleepless and uncomfortable! Please update the pillows with soft PLUMP ones. Otherwise a great hotel! The wifi was fantastic! The bathroom was perfect and comfortable. The showerhead does need to be replaced however with a removable one. The shower was beautifully big and comfortable. Overall, a great hotel!
J. P.
Awesome location, and reception were friendly and efficient. Bedding was nice and clean. Hotel itself is a bit sad. Aging paint, stained carpet, pigeon poo streaked windows. Price was pretty ok, but you could certainly find a nicer place to stay.
A. P.
Loved our stay at the Victoria Hotel. The location was excellent, we could easily walk to everything we needed. The room was basic - just a queen bed and an ensuite, which were clean all that we required. The hotel also has a plunge pool, spa, sauna and basic gym
M. K.
Really comfortable and centrally located hotel offering Art Deco surrounds. Great value.
m.
Located in the center of Melbourne and heart of China town, the xxx is perfectly placed for a city break experience with tons of lovely restaurants located within reasonable walking distance.
The main lobby is stunning and the staff are welcoming and friendly. Unfortunately, this high level of quality did not extend to our room which was a bit off and not nearly as high quality. There was an issue with the bathroom vent, which resulted in a banging noise in the room every time we ran it (so we stopped). Having said that, it’s definitely good enough, especially considering the rather “low” price we paid for it. And frankly, if you are coming to Melbourne, I doubt you are there to stay at the hotel, but rather to enjoy all that Melbourne has to offer.
Positive
+ Location, location, location
+ Friendly staff
Better if
+ Better, fresher room
+ Complimentary breakfast (but absolutely not necessary, enjoy the city instead.

The room we stayed in was comfortable as it was clean and spacious, which made it good value for money. The location of the hotel was excellent as it was in the heart of the city. The queen sized bed in the room was extremely comfortable but the sigle bed was not as good. The bathroom was also adequately furnished but there seemed to be a weird smell lingering there so we kept the door closed at all times. There were some issues with connecting to the hotel's wifi so we used our mobile data instead.
M. S.
Great location well priced rooms are good and beds very comfortable. The staff are very accomodating will definately be back
J. S.
Clean and comfortable room (decor was a little mismatched) and well priced for its location. The toilet space is very small and larger guests could find this uncomfortable. The staff member who checked us in was delightful. Unfortunately the housekeeper tried to enter our friend's room at 8.00am (waking them up) having been told they'd already checked out. We'd happily use again for an overnight stay in the city. And that chandelier 😍

There are good and bad about this hotel. The good one is the hotel is very close to everything. There are many good restaurants, bars and shopping mall within walking distance and the room is reasonably clean but can be better.
The bad parts are the followong:
1. We got room 401 for two nights. The room is very small and right next to the entrance. we constantly heard people opened door and walking pass. Simply speaking, it was very noisy and in the morning there was loud noise from upstairs also. I think maybe it is storage upstairs?
2. Our bed sheet was stained and dirty. The bed sheet wasn't changed from last time? There was no folding line at all. Carpet was not vacuumed before we checked in ? Room was very dusty smell and carpet definitely not clean.
3. I would like to ask the manager or owner to try the pillows and tell me you can sleep well on that flate and old pillows. Try it if you really care about the service.
Although the price was good but all these easily fixed issues really decreased the value of the hotel.
M. A.
It was a great experience at this hotel.

The room was quiet and the bed was comfortable. We were in a new room and I loved the tiling and general bright, fresh new feel. Reception staff were very helpful and good natured when I needed help with getting the electricity to work! My husband was most grateful for the assistance he was given when he had to report his lost credit card etc. Thankfully it was returned by an honest person direct to the hotel. We liked the personal touch . We have stayed before and will be back because the Victoria is ideal in terms of location and convenience and most importantly because of the warm personal way the staff care for their guests.

Nice hotel, all staff are friendly and welcoming. The beds are very comfortable and having room serviced each day was fantastic. The Thai food was nice and service was quick. The bar was great as well, not too noisy. My brother John and I had a great stay and will be back next time in Melbourne. THANK YOU.
M. B.
Located in the city centre that place is probably the best start to explore the city. Double bed room is indeed one room with table and 2 chairs, TV, refrigerator, waterboiler 2 cups, 2 glasses, spoons, sugar- tea- and coffeebags and a room safe. Our room on 3rd floor was rather dark as it hardly has any daylight. There is an equipement for ironing and one single pole to hang up 4 jackets. That's it. No clothes cupboard or wardrobe. The bed is 2 steps away from the door, so you are very easy to hear every talk from neighbours walking by. The bathroom includes the toilette and is very clean and a big mirror and a modern shower. The roomspray which might be used by the cleaner staff is rather uncomfy as it smells like cigars. The parking space for cars at the hotel is limited and adminstrated by a parking service. On the 1st day we did not get a parking space at the hotel and so they offered an alternative parking house nearby. Unfortunately the alternative parking house is nothing but disgusting as it smells strongly like some people use that place as a toilette. There is also a gym, small pool and a whirlpool. Staff is very friendly and helpful.

Great Service but we would have liked a set of Drawers to put our clothes in...and perhaps a choice of Pillows as at the Treasury Hotel on Spring Street..that was greatly appreciated!.Good supply of milk in the fridge and amenities were very clean.Quiet room on second floor and nice to be able to open windows. The fan in the aircon was a bit noisy..despite speed adjustment it always seemed to be at full speed. A lovely Pool and Spa to be used..and a Sauna!. The Staff were very efficient and Check-In was a breeze.. as well, a late Check Out was appreciated .We liked the Security of the baggage storage despite the minimal cost of $7 for 24 hrs.. this is a great Service that allows you to come and go and add your purchases to. Great central location..easy access to Theatre and Restaurants...we will stay again..Many Thanks
M. B.
Stayed for only a single night while attending a 2 day conference. No issue with the hotel at all. Plenty of hot water, clean and comfortable room. My only complaint was the recommended cafe for breakfast was expensive and very sub-par, eggs were like warm etc. Being Melbourne, many great cafe's only a few minutes walk.
R. “. T. S.
A lovely old hotel that has had major renovation work done to bring it up to spec. Right smack bang in the heart of Melbourne, you'd be hard pressed to find a better location to do the theatre scene, shop, or sightseeing. A pool, spa, sauna, and gym are available for hotel guests. Rooms are well equipped and ours was spotlessly clean. Huge TV was great because the view is non-existent. But let's face it, you get out into it, not look at it. If you're mobility challenged this may not suit as there are a few stairs. Buffet breakfast completes the package. Overall this is my second favourite Melbourne hotel. I will most certainly be back again. By the way, there are 370ish rooms here and it's booked out in December... It's now April ! That speaks volumes in itself.

Great location, very clean, well serviced, excellent $ value, friendly and helpful Staff. Definitely staying there again!
A. F.
Rooms are spacious and beds are an acceptable quality. The sound proofing is great as we cant hear any surroundibg guests and the bathroom is great. Has a decent size tv and free netflix whixh is nice Location is fantastic. 100s of restaurants, cafes and shops tight at the door.
S. S.
Enjoyed my stay. Found reception staff friendly enough but a couple of the women were a bit abrupt. My mattress was quite saggy but everything else about the room was great. My biggest concern was why its considered ok for cleaning staff to prop open fire doors that specifically state "do not prop open". A fire could happen suddenly at any time. Im sure the doors were installed wherever they were considered necessary.
T. M.
The room was a great size with heaps of room and the beds were super comfortable, the best nights sleep we have had for a long time. Better than our beds at home. Staff were so helpful and rang and ordered a taxi for us which arrived ahead of time. Thank you for a wonderful stay.
P. D.
Great place to stay very friendly and helpful staff clean and comfortable room and good price. Highly recommend.
B. H.
We were happy with our stay. The hotel is well situated and the staff all very helpful. The rooms were clean and fresh. We would have been happy to reuse our towells, but there were no towell racks to hang them on. I was surprised that I could not get a glass of champagne in the bar. We had breakfast most mornings and dinne a few nights.
F. C.
Good location for a reasonable price. Front desk staff offer minimum courtesy. We didn't eat or drink at the premises. We entered the bar at happy hour but it seemed more like a sports bar so we left. The first night was spent in a substandard room (517) with no breaks on bed on a polished floor so it skated all over the room, very warm room with extremely noisy aircon units outside window, exhaust fan didn't work and so on. Complained the following morning and were offered room 440 which was so very much better. Beds and pillows very comfortable and shower was great. Would have been ideal to have had this room for 2 nights!

2 Grey Nomads do Melbourne.
HOTEL ; Excellent location, walking distance to all institutional museums library, etc etc, markets, free heritage tram, laneway eateries by the score.
Information centre within 100mts, Cabinet Tavern nearby for pleasant tree top viewing of Swanson St.
Room 486, quiet enough, & plenty large enough, only in it to sleep, wash, rest. Bathroom with plenty of space.
All facilities/electronics etc worked.
BED WAS EXCELLENT, as were the pillows
Dining/breakfast easily accessed, ASK for your particular cooked eggs, good spread of continental pastries etc or full breakfast available.
We had a 2 for 1 breakfast deal, $25/day for 2 persons.
*** WILL / WOULD stay there again ****

Great location close to Chinatown. I stayed for 1 night for work in a queen sized bed room on level 1. The hotel room was clean and more spacious than what I expected. There's a small pool, a jacuzzi, 2 treadmill and a couple other gym equipments... Nothing out of the ordinary but they do the basics really well
A. S.
The experience itself was overall good. The receptionists were welcoming and were able to check me in straight away and give me the key to my room even though it was 10 am, rather than 2. The room was good, small but enough space for one. The room was clean but I kept finding random hairs that were definitely not from me. The room itself seemed slightly dated, while the furniture was good. The fridge froze everything within it, so that was my breakfast or any snacks I bought completely wasted. The staff on the phone was a bit cold and unwelcoming, not sure if she was super busy or just had a bad morning. The "spa" facilities are not very well managed. The jacuzzi has seen better days and wasn't really working properly, the sauna was cold even after waiting for it to warm up for 30 minutes and overall the gym facilities were cold and badly throughout out when it comes to their location and convenience of use. The other small comment is, there seems to be only 1 place to refill a water bottle, which is at the gym. Great location though, and easy to get to. The other thing you have to note, you have to ask for WIFI every morning, and the luggage storage is not free. You will need to rent a locker for about $7 for a full day or $5 for 6 hours. This is a decent price, but in most placed I stayed before offered this as a complimentary service. Overall, I would say its a good place to spend a few days, as location is fantastic!

Below average.
To begin with the lobby looks old and gloomy. It looks nothing like the photos i found on the hotel website. Cheap Chinese decorations are also carelessly put up around the lobby, which does not fit the style of the hotel at all.
The elevators and the corridors were also dirty. My room was at the eastern wing, and I had to walk at least 100m from the closest elevator to my room. The directions were unclear and the hotel was like a maze. Some elevators didn't even take you to the ground floor. It led my to a creepy stairway and I would have to find my way to the lobby.
The room was even worst, it got no view at all. Outside the window was some sort of dirty creepy space between buildings. The hairdryer in the bathroom was extremely dirty that it was almost unusable. I called the reception and asked the housekeeping to clean it the next day. However they never did.
However, the wifi was very fast and ideal for video streaming. The TV was also really big with built-in android applications. The room was also very spacious (however it was mostly empty). The bathroom looks new and renovated. The location of the hotel was also ideal.
The price here was 150AUD per night. And I am quite sure you can find way better hotel in Melbourne.

For what is said to be the oldest hotel in 'Melbourne I felt there was not much of a feeling of that or the atmosphere I have experienced from many hotels. Staff when we dealt with them helpful and pleasant but I have seen more welcoming foyers in most hotels I have stayed in . But its location within the city very good and that why we chose it. Close to train station and trams.
K. L.
Excellent location. Stay great. Hotel very clean covd safe. Staff are very friendly.
J. L.
So it’s central, it’s neat, it’s tidy, it a hundred bucks a night and it ain’t 5 star but then again what 5 Star is a hundred bucks a night.
Rooms are small, air conditioner is a bit noisy. Connecting to wifi is free (I now know) but there was no indication of this at check in. Also TV operation was confusing. Again after leaving this review I have figured it out. But staff were okay, lifts reasonable. Pool is about 5 metres long although the pics would indicate its Olympic.
All in all, we got what we paid for and as long as it’s about price, then I would thoroughly recommend.
And if you want a view, check out my pic.

Great location and great price. My room was clean and comfortable. The issue I had with my key not working, staff were very friendly and quick to assist with resolving it. I would recommend Victoria Hotel to anyone who is looking for an affordable place to stay in Melbourne.

I stay here often and it is comfortable and convenient for my business dealings in the city. The rooms are variable in layout and size, but comfortable enough. The hotel is a bit of a rabbit-warren, so it would be advisible to request a room near the elevator if you have any mobility issues. The staff are pleasant and helpful.
B. W.
Great budget accommodation option in a fantastic location - right in the middle of the CBD with Bourke St Mall and delicious cafes and restaurants just a short stroll away. A building with obvious history. The room was a decent size and all the essential amenities were provided i.e. bar fridge, iron, ironing board. The service was friendly and efficient, they sent maintenance immediately to fix a loose tap and were more than happy to push our check out time back. Would stay here again!
M. G.
Very lovely hotel. Very friendly front desk executive. Lovely hotel...nice comfy bed...unfortunately the house-keeping is terrible. Please be advice...they never vaccum or clean-up the room even if u stay for 3 or more nites. Love this hotel. Thanx

Best placed Hotel in Melbourne! Very Efficient Staff! Always Something Happening! 😁💃💥...Been bout 10 Times! Room 517 has the "Brooklyn Outlook" thru Window, Think Industrial Chic! 😁🔊❄🚥..Dec 2020

Positioned amongst lots of shops, restaurants and theatres, this historic three star hotel is basic but comfortable with friendly staff and with amenities such as a pool and spa, one can get a chance to relax.
There is no room service and the pillows be high says I.
With parking on site, driving is no problem either. It is what it is and for the money, 4/5 is fair. If you're after somewhere with room service, then you're going to have to dig a bit deeper into your wallet.
V. E.
The hotel is clean and well presented. Staff are friendly. Beds were comfortable. The pool and spa need to be cleaned (lots of grime on tiles/surfaces at and above the water line, spa stank of chemicals). Room got really hot overnight, had to put cooling on. Breakfast buffet ok.
S. K.
The Victoria Hotel is always our preference when staying in the city. It's location is so great if you are wanting to do things in the central and east of the city square. The staff are helpful and friendly. There is on-site parking for a small fee and off-site parking if that one fill up. We always get a great deal on the room fees. The room have lovely updated bathrooms and very comfortable, clean bedding. There is A/C, mini fridge & TV (with Netflix app).
C. D.
Nice place, the location is so strategically placed right in CBD and behind the town hall. All food outlets, cafes, shopping malls, Trams, anything you can think of is at a few steps distance. The staff is great and in fact offered me a free upgrade for a 10 day stay. Only if the breakfast would be a little different rather than the routine fixed menu.
S. K.
Wonderfully friendly staff, very clean facilities and well appointed, the Victoria is close by to major shopping and dining, and within easy walking distance of the CBD's major attractions. The hotel is easy to get to whether you're driving or taking public transport and room prices are very reasonable with summer fantastic packages for weekend getaways and the likes.
E.
Best location for us tourists, right side of town with lots of direct trams on Swanston St to attractions like St Kilda and NGV, just 5 min walk to Chinatown and stones throw to Bourke Street malls area.
Hotel rooms are clean and thoughtfully replenished with fresh milk packets and biscuits daily. Checked in with my elderly grandma on a wheelchair and the kind receptionist gave us a large room for wheelchair users even though we hadn't requested it. That made the stay really comfortable for us as the shower had an inbuilt bench for Grammy to use. Also we checked in too early but that's not a problem as they have a huge and quiet mezzanine level full of sofas and armchairs that guests could wait out or doze abit with early arrivals.
Cheap room service meals from Thai restaurant next door too!
For the price, the location and service in general has greatly surpassed our expectations.
Would recommend and stay again in our next trip.

Couldn’t of asked for a better location to stay in Melbourne. Comfy, super clean and affordable. I will be staying here on my next trip to Melbourne.

Very comfortable 3 nights at the Victoria Hotel, sharing a triple share room with a friend. Very impressed by the helpful staff and room seemed recently refurbished. Good size, nice decor, pleasant and spacious bathroom. Beds were very comfortable and air-conditioning worked well. Great location, too.
W. B.
I really like the affordable, comfortable rooms. For the price it is, it is absolutely worth it. The floors in the rooms are a little bit old and so is the bathroom. The large shower head is fantastic though! The Victoria hotel is in the CBD which is especially convenient. Just around the corner are restaurants such as Starbucks, Sushi, And many more. Stores such as Hype, and Bourke Street Mall just a few meters ahead. Customer service inside the hotel is mostly great, very helpful staffs. Although the lady with short dark brown hair in ponytail was rather rude. I do overall like the hotel and will intend to stay again.
A. A.
I stayed in a room for 3 and found it very spacious, with decent size toilet. The beds were comfy and the heater had nicely warmed up the room. The hotel is centrally located in the city with plenty of good shops and restaurants just a few steps away.

Good place to stay in city. Had issue with parking bcz hotel parking was full. Overall it was great experience
A. L.
I chose this hotel due to its proximity to town. Many places (eg Federation Square) were within walking distance. The bed was comfortable though the pillows were a little too soft for my liking. Piling 2 pillows together worked somewhat. I wish there was an additional heater in the room as the air conditioner in the room did not provide adequate heat. If I wanted to be warm, it would become really stuffy in the room. If I needed a little cool air, i would get cold. But other than that, I enjoyed my stay here tremendously.
M. M.
Hi stayed at this hotel with my 23 year old daughter for 4 nights and we both absolutely loved it. The location is fantastic - within walking distance to trams, trains and buses, all attractions and lots of places to eat. The hotel staff were very friendly and helpful. The hotel was very clean, spacious and loved the spa and pool area. I would definitely stay here again and recommend it. Great value for money.
S. B.
Hotel is located right in the middle of the city. Easily accessible to shops/restaurants and bus-stops. The rooms are clean and well maintained.Toilet items such as body wash/shampoo/conditioner are not replenished automatically daily so have to be asked from the house keeping section. The continental breakfast provided in the hotel restaurant is really pathetic and lack variety. The hotel reception always seem to be short of staff so when you call them for help they delay in answering the phone or give excuses that they are short staff and are not able to entertain your request.
M. M.
The hotel is well located close to free teams and Bourke St mall. Affordable accommodation. Staff were friendly and accommodating. Room was spacious with incredibly mattresses and pillows. Good sized TV had Netflix on it. 7 minute walk to Princess Theatre for Cursed Child. Buffet breakfast was substantial and for us, included in our member package. Onsite car park is $25 a night.
Downside: our room was near the service lift which I could hear at night. Carpets are a bit loose and rolling in areas.
Overall, a great place to stay for a shopping or theatre visitor.
G. C.
Rated 3 stars, for me is more 4+, staff is more than great, room is near and super clean..don't book anywhere else.
M. W.
Our room overlooked an alley way and was very noisy from 3am onwards. Had very noisy neighbours as well. Did not sleep well and the carpets were dirty. In hind site we should have asked to move rooms. But it was ok, great position in the city, close to shops eatery's etc
M. C.
Very nice hotel, the moment you step in the staff greater you and was very helpful. Got checked into my room in a timely manner, the room was of a decent size, everything clean and tidy. The location is handy as well, as it's close to everything.
L. L.
Room was a good size and staff were helpful. Good basic hotel if you don't want bells and whistles. Shower was a bit mouldy and the pillows weren't the best. But a great location and quiet at night.
S. M.
We had a very pleasant stay at the Victoria hotel. We were upgraded to a larger room and and the staff were always very polite and helpful. The only issue we had was on one occasion our room was not serviced and when I mentioned it to the receptionist the problem was quickly rectified. The breakfast at Alice's restaurant was very good and again the staff were excellent. We will definitely be returning.

Majestic, historic hotels offering that traditional kind of grandeur of a bygone era, at an affordable price are impossible to find in Melbourne because they don't exist anymore...right? WRONG!
The Victoria Hotel has been a part of the Melbourne story for over 100 years, and it's one hotel that has preserved its sense of history and sense of splendour, which you get the feeling of the moment you enter the grand foyer.
Rather than the stuffy reception areas of even modern, upmarket hotels these days, the foyer of the Vic still manages to take my breath away. Architecturally and decoratively this hotel dates back to the Victorian era, complete with Chandeliers and I always get a sense of what this impressive old building must have been like in the earlier part of the 20th century. The professional, friendly and always courteous staff at the Vic proudly represent the history of the hotel in their red uniforms, complete with porters desk, and of course porters to assist guests with luggage.
Whilst a lot of work has gone into upgrading rooms and amenities and in maintenance of the hotel, the façade of the building, and the integrity of keeping the interior relevant to the Victorian period has been preserved.
Rooms contain all the mod cons you'd expect; most I've stayed in are bigger and nicer in décor and furnishings than more expensive hotels. Flat screen LCD TV's are becoming the norm and sadly their beds always seem to be more comfortable than my own.
Leading up a marvellous staircase from the foyer you'll find Vic's Bar, a relaxed, quiet atmosphere enjoyed by patrons of all ages and also frequented by locals.
Alice's Thai Restaurant, accessible via a side door on the Ground level offers hotel patrons the BEST buffet breakfast anywhere in the city at a discounted price. Alice's is also open for lunch and dinner making the hotel even more convenient. Tie all of this in with undercover valet parking (on availability, check at time of booking), and you'll never want to leave the haven you've found smack bang in the middle of the city! And without a doubt the good old fashioned service I've received each and every time I've stayed is reason enough to make the beautiful and historic Victoria Hotel your hotel of choice, just as I have done.
Try to book as early as you can, as the Vic is often used and booked out for major events, particularly around the Comedy Festival when the hotel is an event host.
T. T.
I had a great stay here. Our room was very neat and clean. Our bed was so comfortable for sleeping. The staff was attentive and respectful. I really enjoy stay here. I'll definitely stay again here.
W. M.
We stayed there two nights. The room and facilities were spacious, very clean and tidy. Unfortunately no view but accommodation prices exceptionally reasonable for a mid city hotel.
Would wholeheartedly recommend.
D. S.
Good value hotel, has most amenities in the room. The only potential issue is parking as hotel parking ($20/night) is limited and if you have a car and are staying over a weekend or high season and you don't manage to secure a hotel parking spot (its first come, first served) the other options in the area are up to $85/night. Not all rooms have mobile reception (O*ptus network), so had to change rooms, staff were accommodating. Overall, a good place to stay. Cheers
R. “. D.
Fantastic location right in the heart of the city. Close to just about anything you could want. Staff are nice and helpful. Facilities are decent. Rooms are compact but the quality is great and the beds are comfy, what else do you need?
S. H.
We always stay at The Victoria when we’re in Melbourne. It’s in a great central location and the rates are generally great! We booked too late for our Sunday night due to Ed Sheeran but I know if we’d booked earlier it would’ve been a better rate.
The rooms are always clean, tidy and well presented. There are always coffee and tea facilities in the room, I only wish they’d put a skim milk option in the fridge as well because I usually have to pick up a small bottle when I’m in the city to avoid issues with my dietary requirements.
The staff are always friendly and helpful even when they’re under the pump and they’re always up for a good laugh.
We will continue to use this hotel when we stay in Melbourne.
J. K.
Cheap, the first room smelt awful and we were transferred to another room which was bigger. The people who attended to us did a good job they weren't super friendly but were nice. Over the four days we stayed there they made our beds everyday and replaced all towelling and amenities. We would stay again.
s. d.
First room we were given was still dirty from the previous guests and very small. This is after being told it was an upgrade. I would have hated to think what it was upgraded from. The front counter staff were not as friendly as our previous stays. Barman and Car park attendant were fantastic. Both gave great customer service. A little disappointed as we only picked the hotel because our previous stays had been very nice. I would have to think hard before booking again with so much competition in the area.
J. G.
We had a very comfortable 2 nights at the Victoria Hotel.
Very impressed by the helpful staff and room seemed recently refurbished.
Beds were very comfortable and air-conditioning worked well.
And, everything you might need is within walking distance. Just great.
E. F.
Good clean and spacious rooms.. didn't understand a C/C swipe considering there's no mini bar. And then charged $5 locker fee to leave luggage behind counter until we were ready to leave to go to airport.. never had that happen at any places I've stayed.. nevertheless it was ok, but could do with a revamp
D. L.
First night I stayed was a shocker, Air Con didn't work and there was no extra blanket, plus the bed had the springs going through the mattress. Once I spoke to staff the next day they immediately changed my room and the rest of the stay was very comfortable. I was given free buffet breakfast as a result. Staff very friendly.
G. D.
We had excellent service on arrival and an upgrade to our room. The room was spacious and we enjoyed having a table and chairs to sit on. We went to see the Bodyguard so it was a close walk. Spent the morning shopping and caught up with a friend at the hotel in the afternoon. We enjoyed a drink on the mezzanine floor and then we went to the Dior exhibition, while the boys watched Melbourne Storm in Vics Bar. We didn't opt to have dinner at the hotel but we enjoyed the position of the hotel as it is close to everything.
M. M.
Great location. Could not be any closer to everything unless we slept on a team. Staff helpful. We stayed in an apartment room, it was huge. Breakfast at Mr Munro's was very filling too. Had an omelette with the lot. Will be staying here again next time.
V. D.
Great location. Nicely situated for tourist and good proximity to tours from federation square and also tram to other parts of the city. The rooms are little small though but the service is good. The only negative part was the breakfast. If you stay for a day then you wouldn't complain but if you stay longer (like we started for 5 days) then you'll find it extremely boring with same options being repeated. Absolutely no change if menu.... overall I would see very good if they can take feedback on breakfast. Please note breakfast is served by nearby Alice restaurant.
K.
Great hotel, comfy beds, everything you need and very friendly and helpful staff. Highly recommend.

Recommended. 5* Very clean and well maintained rooms, very nice meals at Alice's Thai restaurant next door.
I left my shoulder bag on the footpath outside the hotel at 6.45 am, I rang the hotel before we left Melbourne and they said someone had handed it in. They said when i arrive home to ring with my address and they would post it back to me COD.
Nice to get my camera, spectacles + other bits and bobs back. (What to say?)
Grazie mille ( Thank you a thousand times)
A. C.
Staff nice, main entrance is nice, bar is nice, pool is small, spa and sauna not working, room quite small
A. D.
Room was clean and confortable. The desk staff as well as the cleaners were all very friendly. My only criticism would be the hot water in my bathroom sink took a long time to heat up, but didn't experience that problem with the shower (otherwise I would have complained).
S. H.
Pretty average rooms with friendly staff. Close to some pretty good food spots too. Lifts are a bit old and there's not much view from the room I went to. But if you're just after a place for a short stay I guess it works.
T. P.
Didn't have a problem with the Hotel in general. Television reception improved out of sight- very good now. No aircon noise either.
Wifi connection was a little hard to secure sometimes. Nothing to worry about though.
Room was clean as. Very good.

Hotel is great for visitors to the city as it's close to food, shopping and trams in all directions. We struck friendly staff. The room was nice but could do with some refurbishment on the bathroom. Will definitely stay here again.
I. M.
Large clean room. Comfy bed. New clean bathroom.
Poor blackout curtains (they don't extend past the edge of the windows so Sun came directly through in morning).
Poor sound proofing in room door - we could hear neighbours TV early in the morning.
Bit of a rabbit warren - could be hard to find way out in a fire (although they have all the legal fire exit signs). I'd like to see floor exit lighting.
S. O. A.
Fantastic!! Very friendly staff who also accommodated our request to change rooms to a bigger room after the first night. Very clean, safe and the most comfy beds!! The spa and sauna were wonderful! I can't wait to be back again next year! Thank you!!!!!
D. R.
great value for money. Clean surrounds, large rooms available, middle-of-the-city.
D. L.
Stayed on a sat/sun. In a heritage room with my gf. concierge was friendly and helpful. The room & bathroom was spacious, clean. They are still going through renovations, so didn't get to sleep in as late as I wanted. I remember staying here about 10 odd years ago. Located in the center if the CBD it still is a great location and great value.
p. r.
We requested a sixth floor room as we like to be near the pool and spa for an early morning dip. We also had a room facing Little Collins Street which was sunnier and brighter and perhaps a little larger than room we have had in the past. The cleaning staff were excellent and understanding as we slept in on Sunday.
D. S.
Very convenient location for Melb City sight seeing. Room clean. No views. Bed good and thick, supporting.. Bathroom is very compact but clean. Toiletries and linen adequate and new, not luxurious.. staff friendly and courteous, quick check in and out. Lots of lift, car park available for a payment, but limited in space, there is a valet to help things out. Small gym and pool, it has sauna and spa. Breakfast is available, only essentials, eg cereal, pastry, bread, fruits, yogurt, juice, tea and coffee. It got hot foods (eggs, bacon, sausage, hash brown, pancakes) They are ok.
A. T.
Fantastic location! Great hotel for the price ($94 Sunday night), fixtures a little tired and mould in the shower, but furnishings clean and new. It's like a maze, but there's good signage. Would definitely stay again.
J. D. L.
The noise from the street both Saturday and Sunday night made it hard to sleep. The toilet blocked but nobody came before we had to leave so had to use toilets in reception which were not clean. Breakfast was good though.

We had a lovely stay at the Victoria, room spacious and clean, same with bathroom. However, there was a very rude bar attendant in Vic's bar, he was of Asian appearance, we don't know to this day what we did to cop this kind of treatment, we are all middle aged females, and all we wanted to do was order a drink each. He was pleasant to other patrons.
N. L.
I stayed in a standard single room on my first visit. It was cosy, quiet and a nice place to come to at the end of the day. The shower however was very cold - the water was fine, just that the walls and floor were stone cold metal! Couldn't even share the shower with my partner without one of us catching pneumonia!
My second visit however was spent in a double queen room, which was considerably better. Very clean, homey, peaceful, roomy and a great place to spend my time in Melbourne.
G. Y.
A central hotel that is boring and suffers of an inflated ego. If all you care about is a room in a central location with a reasonably comfortable bed, this place would do just fine. If you want real comfort, a window that you can open without having to worry about your neighbors sneaking a peek, and service that comes with a smile, stay away. This hotel has such wasted potential. It wouldn't take much to make it so much better than it is. Teach the personnel to be kinder, put a little heart in your renovations and upgrade the place. It's a little effort, but it will go a long way!

Great Service🥰 Thank you so much👍
T. M.
Overall we enjoyed our stay but a few things would make us rethink coming back. The staff at reception need to be retrained in customer service. So unwelcoming and unhelpful. Charging guests extra for storing the bags for a few hours is ridiculous and I have not encountered this before. When asked we were rudely told to go to the lockers and pay. And the lockers were small so who knows what happens when people have actual suitcases. The bed was clearly had of concrete, even the pillows were hard! With so many other hotels all within the city you would think that hotels would be trying their best to make guests feel welcomed so that they would return.
N. T.
Loved this hotel. We stayed in the recently refurbished heritage twin rooms and were pleasantly surprised by the quality of the hotel. Ofcourse the location is great too! No free Internet though and yes part of the hotel is still undergoing refurbishments but then for the price, it was a great find!
Tip: Carry your own toiletries, the hotel does offer some but nothing great. Definitely carry your own shower gel!
I. B.
Beautiful hotel very nice
S. B.
Great hotel. Reasonable rates for a Saturday, very understanding that I had no idea how to drive there. Staff were polite, rooms clean, and modern.
Only minor downside was that the loo was too close to the sink, my 6"1 partner wasn't very comfortable 😹
L. T.
Brilliant mostly. The hotels is such good value and the position is always perfect for me. the receptionist when we checked in was most unfriendly and very unhelpful. Room was fantastic - the restaurant very delicious as always. The man working in the carport on Sat and Sun morning was one of the rudest people I have every come across. Not someone I would want to be working for my business. He was most unhelpful in getting our car and basically motioned to us with his hand to go get the car yourself after telling us the car park would be full when we get back and we would have to park elsewhere. Which is wasn't and we didn't. Such a rude grumpy man on both days. The second day I just refused to thank him for grunting at us an waving his hand at us to get our car.

we really enjoyed our time here

Have stayed at this hotel a few times now. The rooms have been clean as has the hallways and lobby. Really like the big fishtank behind reception desk and the hotel bar (Vic's Bar). The hotel is in a great central location and not too expensive. Will stay here again in the future.

A gorgeous foyer with helpful staff and nice tidy rooms. A gym, sauna, pool amd spa. (Spa could use with an update/clean it was broken in sections and grim around the the top. But this is the only complaint I have about the inner city motel. Overall a wonderfull and affordable place. Highly recommended.
N. B.
The rooms were comfortable and clean. However we found the noise from the street a little overwhelming at night and would definitely request and internal room if returning. The location is the best feature of the hotel with all trams and Melbourne highlights within a close proximity.
S. B. (.
I'm going to break this review down to what I feel are key points with just a brief sentence on each: Location - very central and a matter of minutes from main locations like Bourke St mall, Flinders St station and just off Swanston St so plenty of trams to take you wherever needed. Reception staff - very friendly and helpful regardless of the time of day or night you need some assistance. Rooms and layout - this is where it starts lacking in my opinion the rooms are scattered into sections east, west etc however I only noticed one set of lifts so you need to do a bit of navigation depending on your room number. The queen size room I stayed in was cosy with just 1 person and 1 suitcase but if a couple with a few suitcases and carry on luggage stayed in a room this size you may feel cramped. Room facilities - air con was great but hardly needed given time of year, very little safe would only suit travel documents no chance a laptop or ipad would fit, mini bar came empty which was great for me so I could stock myself, bed was very comfortable. The negatives was very minimal items supplied in bathroom no toothbrush or toothpaste, no towel rack either. My stay overall was pleasant, would I stay again possibly. My major issue was being placed in a room adjacent to outside construction so very noisy from early hours and reason I found this a little frustrating is the hotel didn't seem too busy for its size and I do feel things like putting guests in rooms with a window directly across from ongoing construction shouldn't occur when possible
D. K.
The exteriors and some interiors may look a bit antiquated, but it's got all the modern luxuries and a location that's second to none. It has a nice small pool and hot tub, fast wifi, and TV is equipped for Netflix and Google Play (login to your own acct). Aircon is adjustable and window opens for fresh air if that's what you'd prefer. Trams to anywhere in Greater Melbourne is within a 2 block radius. For the price and location it can't be beat.
N. D.
I've stayed at the Victoria Hotel twice. The rooms are clean and comfortable and I like the services provided at the hotel. The sauna, spa and the pool are great and Vic's bar provides a leisurely atmosphere. Most of the staff are friendly and helpful and able to answer questions and help you book tours. The hotel is very close to alot of Melbourne attractions making it an ideal place to stay.
b. w.
Lunch was excellent! Scotch fillet was delish, but spent lunch salivating at the huge chicken parmas the others enjoyed. Chips awesome, and great atmosphere.
J. M.
Friendly staff, good location. It's a little bit of a rabbit warren.. always a bit of a walk to get to the room. The plumbing is a little old too, with it being an old building. Good place to stay if you're working nearby.
R. E.
Great location and value. I stayed in a refurbished room. The room is of a fair size, and the renovated bathroom is great.
The hotel is near Chinatown so lots of great food options and also near public transport.
My room looked out over a back alley which meant that it was fairly noisy in the early hours of the morning due to the garbage truck pick-up. If this is a problem, see if you can request a room that faces onto a different street.
S. S.
We’ve been staying at this hotel twice this month for different occasions. We booked Heritage Queen Room both times. The size was relatively big for the 2 of us with clean modern bathroom.
Q. R.
It's located right in centre of Melbourne downtown, close to most scenic spots. There are lots of restaurants and supermarkets nearby. Rooms are big and clean here. WiFi signal is good and it's free. Fridge, hair dryer and safe box are available here. Breakfast is very good (free for most rooms).
M. B.
Great value for money. Exceeded our expectations of a 3 star hotel. The carpark attendants and porters were friendly and polite. The check in lady was a bit inattentive and not at all welcoming, but we let that slide. Really good location, close to chinatown, fed square and Bourke Street Mall.
C. M.
Friendly staff. Very accomodating with change of dates and check in times. Valet car parking and comfortable rooms. Fantastic location. Rooms were a bit dated, but would definitely visit again due to convenience of location and ease of booking.
R. L. C.
I have stayed in the hotel many times over the past 16 years.
This stay we experienced a fire alarm, guests had to vacate the hotel. I was in room 278. I was on crutches so the stairs were a challenge but I was able to negotiate.
I was very very disappointed about the lack of alternative fire exits and the reliance on the lifts. Most places that I have visited have signs clearly saying that lifts should not be used in the case of fire - NO INTER FLOOR STAIRS WERE AVAILABLE. Also, no hotel representatives were on my floor (and some others) to assist guests. This is unacceptable
l. m.
Older property but clean, good air con, great central location, inside the free transport zone, just a few yards downhill to tourist office, trams stops and town hall, uphill to trendy brewery/bar.
What mainly let it down were the breakfasts. Even allowing that it was a bankholiday weekend and the hotel was full there was a confused layout with hot and cold drinks in a separate mezzanine area from the food in the bar, with several steps to negotiate. There was frequently no milk for hot drinks, or cups (after the first day we took ours down from the room), and when there were cups many of them were still dirty despite going through the dishwasher, which only added to the problem.
Hot food trays were usually missing at least one staple for a cooked breakfast, and were stripped as soon as they were filled by guests who had been waiting.
The fresh fruit buffet was not much better and tucked in the corner next to the hot food, so people waiting for hot food to be replaced blocked the path of anyone trying to get to the cold.
The age of the hotel obviously dictates the layout, we were on the first floor, but on exiting the lifts had to carry our luggage down a small set of steps, a small inconvenience but still a pain.
On a positive note on the reception desk both the girls were friendly and professional, Emily was a real diamond and unceasingly helpful and polite despite being under seemingly constant pressure.
J. T.
Room was sufficiently large for my family of 2 adults and 2 kids. Though getting to the room was a little tricky since we were on the east wing and it involved quite a bit of walking. Customer service was fantastic, responding quickly to my needs. Though having another hotel guest knocking on my door at 4.40am was a little frightening and service desk was unable to provide any reassurance on that matter.
N. W.
Clean well presented place.Very Close to most of the places we visited. We enjoyed a lot. There were only supplys for 4 cups of tea.Bit disappointed as tea lovers.
L. B.
Our stay was satisfactory, we know what to expect when we stay with you.
One of our key cards did not work so they (3) all had to be returned to the front office to be reactivated.
We stay with you because you are affordable and reasonably well located in the CBD, we do not have high expectations, as an ex facility manager I know what to look for.
The air con was noisey and had to be shut down during the night. The bathroom lighting is inadequate for women trying to apply makeup. Toilet roll holder was lose and hanging on an angle.
As I said our stay was satisfactory.
L. S.
Had a wonderful stay here. Facilities were modern and up to expected standard. As we were there for the tennis we were able to take advantage of their great value buffet breakfast (a special on offer during the Australian open). Would definitely stay here again. Was not disappointed!! 😃
C. G.
It was all easy and convenient. No problems in parking nor waiting to retrieve my car from the hotel parking.
All facilities (gym, spa, pool, sauna, Foxtel etc) I needed. Nice and clean and no hassle.
Staff are courteous and friendly.
C. S.
The staff where always friendly and helpful. The room was very clean and comfortable and with the hotel being so central it was very convenient . Having up to 11 o'clock to check out is also great. Definitely my first hotel of choice.
T. B.
the room was ready. It was clean and comfortable.
The room was quiet.
The check-in efficient and they gave me drink vouchers with my room key.
Breakfast was fine, the best hash browns ever.
C. V. A.
Its absolutely excellent, central to everything, close to trams.
Excellent advice when we asked for it.
Amazing breakfast
Nice tidy clean room
And lovely girls who cleaned our room
Was hoping to get to Vics bar but didn't quite have time so need another trip back to fit Vics bar in!
A. J.
They need to fix the shower. Hot water tap turned on full and got cold water with intermittent warm. Pretty poor. Bar does not open until later afternoon. Have stayed here a few times now never gets better, same old even though now Rydges hotel. Doubt will stay again. Staff not real friendly either.
R. S.
Pleasant. We arrived late evening and were allocated a small room which we didn't find satisfactory for a one week stay. We were advised on checking in that we could change in the morning if we wished, we did so but could have done without the hassle. We had not packed for this and had to almost unpack to find the things we needed. The new room was excellent but given that we had booked well ahead of time we felt that this room should have been available on our arrival.
A. J.
Good value for money!
The location is excellent and the rooms are very clean with helpful staff. You could not ask for more.
If you are expecting a 4.5 or 5 star treatment this is not the place but it's not the budget either.
I would definitely reuse in the future.
T. M.
"Excellent location","Convenient transport options","Good value for money" We spent 2 days at The Victoria Hotel in Melbourne, and the staff could not do enough for us during our stay there. We will definitely be staying with them again on our next trip to Melbourne. very happy customers.
M. “. J.
We stayed there for three nights it's all clean and tidy. You can park your car in a garage. You also can eat breakfast buffet, tastes good and coffee or tea is inkludet.
The stuff is friendly and helps much as they can.
S. M.
Staff were very helpful and we were able to leave our luggage as our room wasn't ready on time. Car parking was easy and convenient and well priced.
Room was extremely clean and well appointed.
We've stayed before over the years and will always choose The Vic.
I always recommend The Vic to our Phillip Island friends.
J. R.
This is a good hotel in a great location. Bit of a maze to get to room. Great having bar and yummy Thai restaurant on site. A lot of tour groups stay here so can be loud at times. Reception were lovely
D. G.
Very pretty, good décor, and well priced. The rooms are a tad small for the normal rooms (I've never been in the luxury rooms so I can't judge) and there's not enough parking in the hotel itself, but the carpark across the street charges the same amount overnight anyway and there's usually free spots there.
c. e.
being an older hotel it does show its age in some ways, but that adds to its charm bathrooms are up to date, having windows that open (for fresh air) is great. The location we find is really good as a base for our visits
D. U.
Bit of a dated hotel, but for the price it does well. The beds were comfy enough and the bathrooms were adequate. Not a place to take your partner on a romantic trip, but more a place to stay when you are going with a group of friends.
K. G.
Centrally located in the heart of Melbourne. I have stayed here a couple of times when I have planned to see concerts and shows and haven't wanted to battle traffic. It's comfortable, reasonably priced, clean and located quite close to Bourke Street Mall so you can get all you need within walking distance. It suited my purpose well and would recommend to others.
J. P.
Very friendly staff and convenient location. Room was sufficiently spacious at very reasonable rate. I would suggest the hotel to revamp it's carpets and bathrooms.
Will stay again the next time I visit Melbourne.
j. G.
We have stayed at the Victoria quite a few times and always find the rooms clean and tidy. Staff are helpful and courteous and you are right on the edge of gastronomic bliss.
J.
I stayed here for a week and found it to be a pleasant experience. Staff were friendly polite and helpful, has a restaurant attached.
Admittedly the gym is only big enough for two people at a time.
P. N.
We stayed here for our 10th wedding anniversary in March 2015 as a package deal when we saw the Lion King at Regent Theater. We stayed her for the location and we had a great time exploring the CBD after dark - which is very rare now that we've got kids.
The hotel was neat and the staff were friendly and while this might not sound very extraordinary, it's exactly what you want from a hotel - a home away from home.
K. B.
Really lovely hotel. Rooms were spacious and nicely appointed. Staff were very helpful and friendly, service was quick. The location is perfect for tourists and business clients as it's so central to everything.
M. V. C.
Great place to stay in Melbourne. Walking distance to NGV, Bourke mall, trams to everywhere. Nice room, comfy beds & aircon/ heating. Very friendly & helpful staff. Would recommend staying there.
A. L.
We had a lovely time, staff was friendly, rooms were clean. Had to move to another room on the 2nd day as room was very noisy on the 8th floor above the aircondioning units outside. Vic bar was very relaxing. Hotel is very central
S. E.
Convenient location just within walking distance of Southern Cross Station.
Close to CBD.
Hotel is split across seperate buildings, can mean a long walk from the elevator to your room. Also means rooms can be odd shapes & sizes.
Cleanliness of certain aspects of the room left something to be desired, behind the TV hadn't been dusted.
A. S.
Friendly and helpful staff. New and clean room. WiFi might a bit slow at times but it is not too much of a concern, because Melbourne is a city where there is free WiFi almost everywhere. Breakfast is also very good.
E. R.
I did not like having to pay upfront for my stay as I have never done this at any other hotel before. I was very disappointed that there was no room service available for any meals. The staff were not able to accurately direct me to the address because they were not aware that the road was blocked even though we had told them. I really enjoyed the cleanliness of the hotel and the look of the hotel as it was spacious and modern with a touch of luxury.
C. L.
Absolutely convenient!
Plenty of restaurants, cafes and shops nearby.
Easy to get to transportation.
Has a relaxing charm with spacious rooms
at a very affordable rate which make it a perfect place to stay.
Will definitely come back next time.
N. m.
Well maintained. Easy accessible to go to main Market by walk, nice location ... Since it's very old & b/w the main market this hotel doesn't have balcony rooms, window rooms are there...
L. M.
Great location!! BUT... to get to your room is a bit far, don't feel safe walking on your own to your room and it is complicated and easy to get lost! not open & spacious enough for me, foyer looks lovely and all!
E. H.
Firstly the room was spacious and nicely prepared for us.
I found staff are friendly and attentive. Just right after we took off DND sign, room attendant follow up with us if we needed service. He was very friendly.
D. P.
The hotel is in a perfect position in the CBD. Close to trams, trains, shops and theatres. The room with ensuite, which had obviously recently been refurbished, was very comfortable. Complimentary tea, coffee and biscuits was most appreciated. Staff friendly and helpful.
P. D.
Good Bed n Breakfast hotel. But should not expect anything more. Special shout to Zoe (front desk) who helped out with regards to early check-in and allowed us to warm our food using their microwave.
L. H.
The location was very convenient, being right in the middle of the city really helped me get around. The room was a bit small but there was nothing wrong with it. The service was also good, the people at the front desk were very helpful, even when I was in a hurry. Overall it was a mostly good experience with a few minor gripes
L. C.
As soon as you walk thru the door to this hotel your welcomed not only by an amazing entrance but with the most helpful staff ive meet in a long time.
The front reception crew went beyond the extra mile to help myself and 3 children all three nights we were there.
To the one gentleman (i never got your name) your customer service is 100%!! We stayed in room 502 and have nothing but great commits.
I will be back one day and also will be telling anyone whos coming to melbourne to book in with this hotel.
Keep up the fantastic work team.
L
T. P.
This was our 4th year staying at the Victoria! We have an annual girls trip every year & enjoyed our stay so much on our first trip that we have always come back. We love the central location as well as being comfortable clean reasonable priced & pleasant staff. Love getting back from a hard day shopping & heading straight to Vics Bar!! We'll be back next year!
T. S.
Hotel is in a great location and easy access to so many things that Melbourne has to offer. Hotel itself was nice quality and had excellent service. I found a good deal online through Expedia and was very happy with my overall stay.
S. D.
The hotel is old but still going strong. One of its best features is the availability of parking at a reasonable rate. Rooms are small but have everything you need. The location is excellent.
P.
Amazingly Affordable, Incredible Location and Very Nice. The Victoria Hotel is amazing, only three minutes to walk to Flinders street station and it is only two minutes away from Bourke street mall. This was a very cheap hotel and the elevators were amazing. The room was clean and spacious.
R. N. -. R. E.
Ok experience. Reception was friendly, room was clean, through slightly run down. Layout of room was interesting. Location was great which was very important to us. No noise. Bed was comfortable.
N. O.
Great location, clean rooms and comfy bed. Would stay here again!
J. S.
Clean and spacious rooms. A monstrously huge hotel though. Stunning lobby and great value for money for a quick stay. Very convenient location too!!
t.
Great price, clean rooms. Friendly staff with helpful advise & expertise knowledge of the city! We would defiantly stay always at the Victoria Hotel- greatly appreciated for everything! 5⭐️
W. R.
Spacious, very clean room and ensuite. Friendly, courteous and helpful staff.
M. S.
Nicely updated hotel with a great location. Within walking distance of restaurants, shopping, and free trams within the cbd. easy to explore further with purchase of a myki transit pass.
B. M.
Budget hotel with the feel of a more upmarket hotel. Room was very comfortable, beds excellent small bathroom but very clean and modern. Has a very surprises like a pool and small gym. Will definitely be back.
J. L.
All the staff is very nice. Breakfast is quite complete. I particularly enjoyed the gym and the jacuzzi. Only one suggestion, you could have plug adapters for overseas costumers.
A. R.
The hotel is located bang in the midst of the city and has easy access to cafes and shopping area. The area of the room is small however the room was clean overall its a good place to stay if yoi want to explore the city.
S. K.
A very nice place in a great location. Room was good and I really liked the staff.
N. W.
Victoria hotel is located at little Collins street within the Melbourne CBD areas. Very convenient and walking distance to Chinatown and other eatery places and cafeteria and pubs too. Hotel basically 3 stars with reasonable rates and rooms are clean and filled with basic amenities. Thumb up for walk in and family too. Cheers
B. L.
Good location and clean room. Staff could have been a bit happier though and the room had no bottle opener. We were required to bring our drinks down to be opened.
J. Y.
The room is always clean, comfortable, everything worked as expected, easy checkin/out.
I have a difficulty with stairs and sloping floors and I have not encountered one for the last decade so someone paid attention to my disability.
M. A.
Perfect location, great atmosphere, friendly and helpful staff, comfortable room, great facilities.
My husband and I really enjoyed our week long stay at the Victoria Hotel and hope to return soon - it will be our preferred accomodation choice when staying in Melbourne.
D. K.
Hotel lobby and lounge appeared nice. I liked the aquariums. Bar prices were expensive with limited choices so I didn't buy anything. I was there for a Comedy Festival show and was not a guest at the hotel.
N. C. (.
Great experience with great staff. What a location. Perfect for a city getaway!
T. M.
"Excellent location","Good value for money","Convenient transport options" The roof was leaking water - dripping on the carpet all night. The ***ager said we should have said something and he would have changed our room, but we didnt get back to the room until 1 am and I wasnt going to change rooms then.
E.
A very nice hotel. Room was tip top and up to date.
Sadly a Sunday night was not a good night to stay at the hotel if you get a room at the street side, as the garbage trucks start passing through at 4pm in the morning to empty bins...
G. M.
Clean, rooms were a good size for 3 people. Very central to everything. But mobile service for Optus and Vodafone was very poor. No servuec at all. Overall would come back
J. T. (.
Spent a week. Friendly and compassionate staff. Tidy and big rooms. Pool, spa and sauna are great. Location is excellent - in the heart of Melbourne. Wish breakfast was included in the service.
M. D.
Amazing location. Easy access to everywhere in the CBD. Trams nearby so you can access anywhere. Rooms are okay as they have renovated fairly recently but fairly basic.
L. D.
A wonderful place to stay in the heart of the city. The compact Queen room was comfortable.
L. V.
+ Very very good, great location, comfortable bed, large room, luggage storage.
- No good coffee or food available late evening.
- I am an Accor member but I had to call the Accor Centre to book. The booking wedsite is one of the worst I have had to negotiate.
T. M.
Perfect location. Room size was great. The use of a pool was fabulous to keep my 4 yo son entertained when he needed a break.
T. E.
Beds super comfy, staff really lovely Little bit old, but still nice
R. R.
This hotel is one of the oldest hotels in melbourne. although old but still clean and maintained its parking area is quite wide, complete satisfy the strategic location in downtown melbourne big and spacious room and equipped with smart tv in every room & the wifi is fast enough. This hotel location is in the city centre of melbourne
(sorry for my bad english)
N.
Have stayed here as a tourist multiple times, and for the price nothing beats the quality and location of the place. If you're coming to Melbourne to enjoy the city, and need a place to wind down in a central location, this is for you. If you're looking for 5-star facilities, swimming pools, etc, then probably not.
M. A.
Being a Le Club Member I receive a complementary drink. However on the date of the stay all the beer taps were out of order. As a replacement drink I was offered a house wine or soft drink. I was not interested in a soft drink and a bottled beer was not an option therefore I tried the house Red wine. Very ordinary to say the least, I would have preferred either a good red or a bottled beer, neither of which was an option even if I suplemented the cost.
Apart from this the stay was fine.
A. S.
Stayed one night, on the East wing. Room was clean, although quite old in fashion and materials. Buffet Breakfast with plenty of options and all delicious.
A. O.
We had a relaxing stay in a very clean and comfortable room. It was lovely and quiet. The hotel reception staff were helpful re car parking and we appreciated this.
R. W.
Stayed overnight for the GP. Room was cozy, yet functional, bathroom a tad small. On the upside room was clean, bed super comfortable and amenities were very good. Staff are friendly and inviting Would stay again
E. L.
Very nice room, staff friendly and the position couldnt be faulted got a good price on room. Breakfast a bit pricy so found a cafe bar just 2mins away
D. W.
Fabulous location for all Melbourne attractions. Refurbished rooms. Super friendly Staff that help woth everything. Good value dining. Place to stay in heart of Melbourne.
M. T.
Rooms are clean and modern. Facilities are great too. Pool is a little small but is well maintained. Hotel is also in an incredible location.
P. K.
Good central location to CBD and restaurants and reasonably priced for what you get; parking was a little difficult with no direct access to the car; and had some difficulties connecting to WiFi in the room, but they had a workaround.
B. L.
Very happy with twin room modern bathroom comfy beds, every thing we needed. Very central to cbd close to all transport, restaurants etc would stay again, very helpful staff aswell.
D. M.
Great value for a really comfortable hotel. Great service spacious rooms and access to a heated pool. Big smart TV with internet connection as well as cable.
S.
Pretty tired and cramped room. No room service menu? Totally just a one night stay kind of place, all your money is going to the pretty central location. Oh yeah, you have to pay for a locker as your 'Concierge' for the day
R. B.
Friendly staff, good service and clean facilities. On multiple returns upgrades were offered for free after the staff got to know customers. Rooftop Pool/Gym has a nice view!
C. B.
Great location in central CBD. Updated classic hotel, rooms ok and bathroom is nice. Staff friendly but charging to hold luggage before check in/after check out is pretty poor service.
k. G.
Great place to stay in Melbourne if you don't want to break the bank. Clean comfy rooms. Definitely recommend and the fish tank at reception is to die for!!!!
S. J. C.
Clean and comfortable. The shower and the bed were simply devine, all one needs for a comfortable getaway! The gentlemen that checked us in was a character, highly recommend!
E. W.
Affordable, satisfying, however there was a considerable disparity between the attention provided by reception staff at different times of the day.
Bedding sheets may not have been changed on one bed as a number of hairs were found.
R. B.
A big hotel, with a maze of corridors to find your room.
The rooms are basic but functional and could benefit from a lick of paint.
Overall good value for money.
F. E.
pleasant & very convenient for the comedy festival. Only disappointment was the need to purchase a locker for my luggage. I've never had to do this in any other hotel. Left a sour taste
D. R.
This is not your modern glamor hotel, it's more like an old darling which has had bits and pieces made over, but despite that, it has a relaxed charm about it. You can easily sit in the quiet upstairs lobby and read a newspaper all day and nobody would bother you.
W. Q.
For the price , it's good and clean. Wall is thin, easy hear sound outside sometimes.
S. W.
Very comfortable. Clean. No fuss other than the morning with the fire... but these things happen.
My only concern was it took 40 minutes for Metro Fire Brigade to arrive!
Does that mean there was no automatic alarm to them? Did staff not alert via 000?
L. K. Y.
Has been staying with this hotel multiple times. Happy with everything except mattress too soft and hurting my back and my partner back. With love to stay again if there is an option for harder mattress.
B.
Not a bad place for a bed and a sleep, rooms are kept to a reasonable standard of cleanliness but can be a little small. This place is very affordable.
S. C.
Good value hotel in a great location, rooms a bit small. But clean and well maintained
Would stay there again
👍👍👍👍👍
G. T.
Great place to stay and thanks for the good service of housekeeping.
The Receptionist lady (Vanessa ) did a great service to us upon arrival at early morning.
We'll surely come back again.
L. R.
My friends and I stayed in a triple share last weekend to go see Les Mis and it was perfect. It was about a 5 minute walk to Her Majesty's Theatre, 5 minutes to China town and shops everywhere. The room was perfect for us and the staff was very friendly. For location, you can't beat it.
K. M.
Great customer service very helpful
R.
Good price and great location. Nice having a pool, spa and sauna...even though all are probably past their hay day. Nice staff, would stay again.
S.
Very clean and comfortable..reception staff were helpful and prompt when checking in and out.Close to all venues in CBD..I would definately stay here again next time.
J. M.
The room was very comfortable and suitably sized - and very competitively priced. The location of the hotel is excellent for visiting attractions in Melbourne. Flinders St Station is a few blocks away, there's a Tram stop just down the street and all the eateries of Swanston St are nearby.
K. G.
Check in was pleasant and easy. Carparking was reasonably priced. Room was clean and updated. The hotel is centrally located. Overall loved The Victoria Hotel and will definitely be staying again.
A. K.
Staff were extremely helpful going the extra mile and giving us a free upgrade. Room was a bit outdated but overall was a pleasant stay.
D. C.
Getting to the room required changing lifts, which was a bit odd. Room wasn't properly cleaned and quite small. Wifi was good and position is excellent.
Y. R.
The hotel is in the heart of city and very close to Flinders street station. Room are bit conjugated. You can find indian restaurant near by for shopping you have H&M , Mayer, David Jones, etc just 2 min walk.
B. L.
Brilliant modest hotel; the room was clean and the bed was comfy. Ensuite was great. Fantastic location! Will only stay here from now on.
P.
Nice place to stay when in Melbourne rooms are big with a comfortable bed. Grate location with lots of shops, restaurants and bar within just a couple of minutes walk.
D. U.
I have only been to Bar Vic as well as one of the conference rooms (I'm guessing) for a Comedy Festival gig. Foyer is very nice looking and Bar Vic up the stairs is decent enough too. Recommend popping in for a drink to see if you like it - bar prices aren't (weren't) expensive hotel bar prices.
L. R.
A very good value hotel. Very clean and comfortable. Room well maintained. Bathroom very nice. Staff helpful. Location is brilliant. We always stay at the Vic.
D. T.
The Victoria Hotel was quite good. The rooms felt a little squishy & the maze you had to go through to find your room was painful. But free Netflix & Comfortable beds make up for it.
P. M.
Great location, staff aways helpful and friendly rooms aways can clean and tidy.
Top place to stay if your in Melbourne. Everything you need within walking distance.
T. Y. D. B.
Great hotel with nice amenities. Although the room was simple, it has all the required stuff. Location is great as well, near to major sightseeing in CBD.
M. A.
Room and hotel look nice. There was an issue with both the toilet seat and shower head staying up. The bed was a tad uncomfortable. Otherwise it was a great stay.
Y. Z. T.
Clean (though slightly small) rooms, pleasant environment. Note they do NOT offer complimentary luggage holding service. You have to pay for lockers (!!).
P. C.
It was a great time away and the room was so homely and comfortable and the breakfast was amazing. Parking available
We will definitely be back
M. P.
Excellent location and always friendly staff. The room I had did have a paint smell due to the recent renovations but nothing that was too strong. Excellent for the price point
V. M.
As compared to all other places including AirBnb where prices were high.. it was an easy and comfortable 1 day stay. The included breakfast was also a good addition, food was better than average.
M. C.
Newly refurbished and no noise on a Saturday night. Perhaps I was lucky or perhaps they've addressed the issues. Nice staff (especially the lovely lady from Nepal).
Only negative comment: wish they had Wifi in the room.
M. H.
Is a great location and the breakfast is really good the rooms are ok and the bathroom have been updated which is really good but we're couple of peoblems in room fridge was small and a little noisy and beds a little to frim for me but other that would and will stay here again.
L. F.
Clean tidy room, a little on the small side but it was ok. Very good rates. Only issue was that I had to take 2 seperate lifts to get to my room on level 8
M. T.
On arrival the assistant manager insisted that full payment was to be made up front. I explained that I have never done that before and want to combine all expenses in one invoice in check out. Your manager has very little patience or tolerance. I will not stay here again.
N. N.
The service was excellent and the staff were very friendly. The room was nice and tidy. We did not have any issues during our time there.
R. R.
Great location! It's a little bit labyrinthine inside, but our room is clean and quiet enough (if not well served by the free WiFi), with more than enough space for our party of three people.
S. T.
This is a good hotel for the price. Clean cut, tidy and brilliant location. There is a bar inside too which is a bonus.
S. M.
Location was great, able to walk 2 minutes down the road to get some amazing crepes from a street vendor. Room was a great price and size, perfect place to stay in the heart of Melbourne!
J. F.
Desk staff left a lot to be desired- booking in O K, booking out, goodbye, glad to see you leave attitude.
Leave my case for a few hours please, if I pay.
Cleaning and breakfast staff- wonderful.
J. C.
Good location, nearby to almost everywhere in CBD, nearby to few vegetarian restaurants too👍.
The only downside is too many doors (to split between old and new rooms I guess) I have to pass through (about 4 different doors) just to reach my room.
N. S.
Room was clean, comfortable and quiet. Staff were helpful and friendly. Nothing exceptional but it was priced accordingly. Would stay there again.
P. W.
I have stayed at The victoria Hotel before and was good however on this occasion there was a very noisy travel group who kept me up for a lot of the night.
I saw the desk manager in the morning a with a change of room to a different floor things were much better.
S. G.
the only two things I found good about this hotel is the staff service and location as it is located in city's heart. rooms were very small and the toilet was very small making difficult to enter it
O. C.
Went to a show here as part of the Melbourne International Comedy Festival 2018. Great service by the front of house and venue staff and excellent spaces for performances. Also a pretty good place to grab a drink.
J. K.
Nothing was too much trouble by the staff at the counter so much so we asked if we could get a particular food at the restaurant for breakfast and they physically went and checked! The room was comfirtable and well priced. I will be coming back!
B. C.
We had a 2-night stay and, after 3 days out of Melbourne, another 4-night stay. Both stays were, as usual, VERY pleasant in comfortable, clean room. We will DEFINATELY be back.
R. A. P.
We’ve been staying at this hotel twice this month for different occasions. We booked Heritage Queen Room both times. The size was relatively big for the 2 of us with clean modern bathroom. Great location easy access to good food! We never got a chance to check out the facilities, but we were happy with our experiences, although when we checked in for the second time, the receptionist didn’t check properly and we’ve been charged 2x. She didn’t seem to know how to fix the problem, but the other receptionist, Nic, was really helpful.
D. K.
used to stay there,a,lot. preferred hotel for country folk to stay whilst in city.
still enjoy going there
M. L.
As always, the desk staff were efficient and courteous.
The room was very clean & comfortable. Location was perfect.
Things Comedy festival events.
P. H. (.
A clean hotel in a great location. The hotel is old but the rooms and restaurant have been updated. A good deal for the price.
M.
Beautiful historical hotel at very good location with IBIS comfort now. Everything is within walking distance. Receptionists are all wonderful. I would come back here if I have next time.
M. F.
Great place to stay right in the centre of Melb CBD. Our room was spacious and huge shower. Maybe suggest a high floor as street noise hearable on lower floors of night
A. H.
The hotel is in the heart of the city, nice and clean. The room had no views, careful choosing. The restaurant was nice and good service.
J. C.
Epicentre location of Melbourne, and Chinatown Melbourne. Ideal location really. Reasonable older hotel. Cosy is my word. There is a quiet sofa sitting lounge on the 2nd floor , where one can be alone to text or watch TV.
J. H.
Friendly staff great rooms comfy bed and squeaky clean.
M. P.
Great location & facilities. Best bed I've slept in at any hotel. Would set recommend to family & friends and would stay again next Melbourne visit

Have stayed here several times.
Always great service. Clean and well presented rooms.
Recommend highly.
B. Q.
A sense of old world charm, where we saw the hilariously modern Rhys Nicholson. Drinks prices were reasonable, especially for a theatre venue! Here's hoping for many more shows at this venue.
A. P.
Rooms are lovely and clean. Food is great and Sean at the bar is the best. Such good service. So friendly and lovely.
P. M.
Check in was simple and your staff were very helpful. The hotel location is brilliant. The restaurant was convenient and very well priced and the meals were outstanding.
S. C.
Rooms were clean and cozy. The expected amenities were present. Overall stay was comfortable. It is within walking distance of flinder street and CBD.
R. W.
We really enjoyed our short stay. The location is fantastic, easy walking distance to everything. Our service was good, and our room was clean.
D. P.
The location was central and easy to find. The rooms were clean, organised and easy to navigate. When we arrived at the event, we were promptly directed on where to go, making the event no hassle.

Beautiful hotel with a mix of the old and new. Beautifully situated, literally one road away from the tram system which is the most wonderful public transport system. Would recommend this hotel to anyone!

A very nice hotel that combines modern and old world. Free wifi in the rooms, central city in Melbourne, close to china town. Lots of places to eat and enjoy coffee ☕ near by.

I've been staying in at The Victoria Hotel ever since I was a child. So many memories. Always been a lovely experience. Every time I needed to stay in the city for work, this was the place to stay.

AC was rattling and after complaining nothing was done, bathroom stank of sewage. Old but ok hotel. 2 of my 3 stars are for the spa that many hotels dont have 😅

Clean rooms, friendly staff ... great prices on the rooms...

The location is great to get to places but we were woken up by the music and people vacating the bar across the street at 3.00am on Sunday morning and the garbage truck on Monday morning.
So we won't stay there again but we will stay elsewhere with Accor.

I came from Argentina and over there I worked in 2 different hotels "as a bellboy and as a concierge and I know what is like when you have to show a good face even if you have a headache. Because these I can tell you that your service is great and your people is fantastic. 👍👍👍

The Victoria hotel is warm and inviting and is located central to the Melbourne CBD which means it is a short walk to any restaurant or social event you desire. The hotel staff are extremely helpful and it was a pleasure to visit.

The room was clean and comfortable. The bathroom was spotless and well appointed. Breakfast was excellent, with a good variety of options.

I HAD BOOKED THE ROOM FOR MY MOTHER AND AUNTIES TO STAY, WHILE A GROUP OF FAMILY MEMBERS COME TO VISIT MY SISTER IN MELBOURNE. AS HER 1 BEDROOM WAS NOT ENOUGH SPACE FOR 8 PEOPLE SO I BOOKED THE THREE OF THEM TO STAY IN A HOTEL.
MY MUM WHO DOES NOT GET TO GO OUT VERY MUCH FOUND THE EVENT QUITE EXCITING AND WE APPRECIATED THE INCLUSION OF BREAKFAST FOR THEM.
THE BREAKFAST WE ALSO PAID FOR ON THE LAST DAY FOR THE OTHER FAMILY TO JOIN THEM.
THANK YOU
GEORGE

Had way higher expectations. Half of the equipment and amenities were broken. Dont think will ever return knowing how many other hotels are in Melbourne cbd.

Reasonable place to stay. Quite comfortable and slept well. Relatively clean but with obvious signs of age and wear (apartment).

Fantastic old style pub in the middle of a fancy hotel. One of the few places left you can grab a drink, play some pool and experience what pubs used to look like before they became all hip and crafty and "oonce oonce" music.
Oh yes, you can actually have an conversation in there.

Awesome hotel in the city heart in the little Collins street. 2-3 mins walk to federation square and everything is close by. Clean and hygienic place. Nice rooms just loved it.

The bar is nice. Rooms decent, except the shower was duct taped together and the head wouldn't stay in place

Despite my son having several tantrums at the hotel the staff where really respectful and understanding. The room was comfortable and very clean.

Only been here for comedy shows. The bar is nice enough. Cosy, but not particularly interesting in terms of style. Staff were great.

Just perfect. Every time I go to Melbourne, this is where I stay. The pricing is good, the staff are great and the rooms are amazing! Every room is different so you get a different experience each time.

Nice and clean. Well organized for a smallish room so it doesn't feel too cramped. Too many good food options and is near Chinatown

Room kept clean and tidy every day.
Walk distance around the city.
Great place to stay.

Convient location, right in the city, close to everything. The hotel room was a bit small, but all you need where there. It is acceptable considering the price, no problems for a short stay, but not for a relaxation.

Great hotel. Close to everything you need. Our room in the West wing was lovely and quiet

It was a nice a cozy environment with helpful staff and understanding people. I'd like to apologise to the check-in attendant because of bigoted behavior from one of my tour members.

Location was great! Parking was available at the property. Unfortunately housekeeping came into our room at 7.00am by mistake.

Great location..friendly helpful front desk staff...had our room ready early.Clean comfortable room with nice bathroom...perfect.

Nice little hotel that served its purpose. However there were noisy guests in the mornings talking loudly in the corridor between families and kids running around loudly on the days which I stayed.

Loved this hotel, room was clean, bathroom was like new. Very central to everything. Just a tram ride away.

Service was average, rooms are not very aestheticly pleasing and some things are not working properly. Room is quite large though and you get a decent variety of TV channels

Good beds. Clean rooms. Bar could use an update but prices are fair. Great location.

Small but comfortable room. Basic amenities provided. Located at the heart of the city. I will come back again.

Friendly staff, top rooms and great location to explore Melbourne. I only gave 4 stars because no room service are available after 6pm, I need to go out and buy myself.
