Marsella was super lovely at reception. Had an amazing view of the city and tidy room. free push bikes to use for exploring the city, coffee & muffins up top for free and helped keep our luggage even after check out so we could go explore the city !!! I’m actually so happy about the staff always looking after us. Also my partners birthday so they helped us celebrate as well 💕

Beautiful hotel with simple and practical design. We only stayed the one night to avoid driving home late after a night out, but wish we stayed longer. The rooms are on the smaller side, but have everything you need. We also didn't have a chance to use the rooftop at night, but went and had a seat before we checked out in the morning. Coffee from the foyer was also great. Would definitely come back 😊

Great experience and customer service. Check out was amazing because it was at 12 and got to sleep in as had a late night out. Room was amazing. There is no parking on site but there is the state library car park which is open 24/7 and is literally right next door. We arrived at 6:30pm at the carpark and left the next day at 12:30-1pm and only cost us 16.00 at the carpark. Would recommend this place

Alex hotel was a great and unique place to stay around perth. Thank you for greeting my husband through a happy birthday card. When I booked a room online. I did not receive booking confirmation but instead a link at mews.li which makes me feel confused and unsafe. As I have never received all the details of my booking such as bottle of sparkling, voucher and breakfast. I managed to send an email and got a response that I will receive booking confirmation 3 days prior of arrival, which was fine. When I received the confirmation all the details was not there such as $150 voucher, sparkling and breakfast included. Other than that they response very quick with all the concerns. Reception area was too exposed as you can see other bookings. I will definitely still come back! Great hotel and experience overall. Breakfast options was great. Interior was funky with comfy bed.

Amazing space right in the city :) went in there for a iced chocolate and iced coffee. It was great. Very good service.

The room was great with a super comfortable bed, the staff were all very lovely and breakfast was delicious. The bathroom amenities were appreciated. Check in and out was easy and thank you for storing our suitcase. Funky, relaxing dining areas.

Wow!! Had the best nights stay thank u to the smiley team :) The cosiest pillow and bed! Totally zonked out to the heaviest sleep I’ve experienced in a while!! Sooo good!! And what about my Brioche Toast & Compote!!!! It was wayyyy to small for my liking but opted for the Bacon & Egg sandwich as a second breakfast! Definitely need Lactose free milk, but given my parking next door only cost me $23!! I’ma let it slide!! Remarkable Alex Hotel! I’ll be back!!!! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

As i live semi rural, occasionally my partner and i stay in the city overnight if we are heading out. Alex is the perfect hotel for a northbridge stay, very clean, simple but elegant. Only complaint is that the walls are a little thin, so noise travels easy. But certainly a great place to stay and very reasonably priced.

A very nice, modern, chic hotel with dining on the ground and first floor. The location is fantastic and I would come back just for that. The room was small but nice , the window was dirty on the outside and there was no fridge but you can get an ice bucket to cool your drinks. Its nice to see the use of so much glass on the ground floor and in the bathroom however these surfaces require a lot of wiping and the glass doors in our bathroom was not clean. The bed was comfy having stayed three nights and the aircon was on in our room constantly which was nice to come back to a cool room after exploring the city. Will be back 😊

Alex Hotel is a boutique hotel with a prime location, mere minutes from the train station, Northbridge and the CBD. If location is your only factor, this place has it. The entrance isn't the easiest to find, and it has a very non traditional lobby area. Food is limited and once you find a menu, you order at the bar. If you're lucky, your room will have a view, if like me you paid extra to have a balcony, you will probably find the view hidden behind a metal grid that extends the full height of the building, hiding the underwhelming view. Strangely my room had no wardrobe and limited unpacking surfaces. The bed was comfy. The lack of wardrobe or proper place to hang clothing was irritating. As night-life begins from Thursday, there is an increase of noise from nearby bars. There is a rooftop relaxation area, but that's it, no bar or food or anything up there. TL;DR fantastic location, a little too boutiquey

We absolutely loved our stay. The way this hotel is set up is innovative and fun, removing the need for a lot of wasteful single use items that are usually found in hotel rooms. I have run 300 writers' masterclasses over Australia and been struggling to find a decent place in Perth. After working with three other places that were under par I found Alex Hotel and it is perfect. I also stayed there. Can't recommend highly enough. From my first contact the services was friendly, prompt and efficient. The hotel is comfortable, stylish and has a great vibe. Staff are warm and bend over backward to assist in any way they can and make your stay as enjoyable as possible. The room I stayed in was quiet, clean and the bed comfortable. I stay in a lot of places and this is the perfect balance of great location, everything you need but none of the stuff you don't. My function in the meeting room ran very smoothly, the food was great, room gorgeous and service just perfect. Thank you so much I can't wait to stay with you and run another masterclass.

The rooms themselves are petite without being too small, all have good views of the city and/or Northbridge. I LOVE the Alex. We stay here every few months - little staycations to recharge the batteries. I’m not sure what I appreciate the most: the perfect service, the simple but well designed rooms, the gorgeous and relaxing common areas or all the little touches that show genuine consideration of what makes a comfortable home away from home. The street noise can be a little noisy (the trade off for having fresh air) and there isn’t a bar fridge (just in case these things are deal breakers for you) but you get so much for such a small cost (I forgot to rave about their free breakfasts) that it more than makes up. Thank you Alex Hotel for another amazing stay!

We had our wedding reception on the rooftop. The planning was easy and the day was exceptional. The food was amazing and the staff at the Alex did everything we needed. As I sit here , watching Perth start to come alive. Sipping on a well made martini.. the fantastic service, great location and brilliantly friendly staff are hard to fault. The room is clean, enough room to swing a cat (not provided by hotel..), food is available from the adjoining black shadow restaurant.. all in a great post covid destination in a city that has had to change to meet the current climate. Try this place as an alternative to the faceless hotel chains..

I absolutely love the vibe of the small cafe/reception area in this hotel. I just went there for a coffee and some food and I definitely wasn’t disappointed. The food is ver expensive for the portions though. The staff are friendly, the space is so relaxing, and the location is great and close to the CBD.

We stayed here for two nights while on holiday. We loved our stay here. Check in was done online prior, with the staff knowing who we were when we arrived. The room was clean and cosy. I appreciated that there were power points in all the convenient spots, which is something hotel rooms are often missing. Alex Hotel is very conveniently located in Northbridge, a very easy walk into the CBD. If we needed a hotel in the centre of Perth again, I would definitely look at staying at Alex Hotel. We parked in the State Library carpark. It was convenient and while I don't know if we could have found a cheaper option, we were happy that we parked close by.

Love this place ... What a gem .... Staff incredibly friendly warm helpful kind approachable. The room clean comfortable. Room temperature perfect. The bed like sleeping on a cloud. The bed sheets crisp. The bathroom gorgeous complimentary shampoo conditioner body wash hair dryer, 2 big towels 2 smaller towels 2 face towels and bath mat all crispy white love it. Breakfast complimentary great variety. Rooftop area very comfortable can't praise this hotel enough. I will always recommend this hotel and be happy to stay again and again. I really enjoyed my short stay at the Alex. Tasteful modern and ultra clean are the first things that spring to mind. Rooms may be a little too minimalist for some but the rooftop views and communal areas are Goldilocks just right. But, the AC won't work if your window is cracked open (I learnt the hard way), no smoking on the balconies if you're that way inclined, and no fridge at all in the room. I can forgive the first 2 but not the last at this price point. 5 🌟 when there's a fridge in my room

Very cool and modern concept of a hotel. Really great casual and homely atmosphere, with unobtrusive, professional and personal service. Rooms were very clean and well equipped with free movies and wifi included. The only criticism was during breakfast where they clearly need more staff on hand - when we ate all bread, cutlery, crockery and serviettes had been depleted and weren't replenished for a while. Really great place to spend a weekend in the city or short work trip. Definitely will return.

Absolutely loved my staycation at this super trendy little hotel. Staff were the right level of friendly, room was simple but stylish and had everything I needed and the amenities make you feel like you could move right in and stay forever. I especially love the comunnal space on the mezzanine (for both working and relaxing) and will have to stay again in summer to enjoy the rooftop's full potential. Location is also excellent with a large selection of top notch eating spots within easy walking distance. Would highly recommend the Alex for business or pleasure!

This is a great place to stay. It's in a great spot right next to the arts centre and Northbridge and has some of the quietest rooms we've experienced in Perth. We found the staff friendly and helpful, the rooms impeccably clean and the breakfast nice. The hotel has 75 rooms and is more intimate, friendly and casual than the big hotels - it sort of has a ski lodge vibe, without the smelly socks! Recommended.

The good: aesthetics are modern and funky, with a few unexpected twists to the typical concierge model. Breakfast was nice and enjoyable. Rooms are modern and recently completed so everything is shiny. Free wifi is always a good thing. The bad: single rooms are very minimalist, a chair and fridge would have been great. Street noise is quite present as well, however the hotel does provide ear plugs.

I’ve stayed here twice now and have been madly recommending them to friends, family, colleagues, and strangers. The hotel is conveniently located in the heart of Northbridge close to shopping, bar, and restaurants. It’s also super easy to wander over the main shopping area of the city or visit the Art Gallery and PICA. There is a little bit of noise at night on the weekend, but nothing that kept me up or over disturbed me. The rooms are clean and well designed. Bottled water is provided daily, but there are no mini bars in the rooms (they have an honour bar system instead on the mezzanine level that is a lovely social space). The staff are very welcoming and helpful, the last time I stayed I was making gift bags for a bridal shower and needed to borrow some scissors and tape from them, they were very accomodating and even followed up later to ask how the event went. The breakfasts provided are so delicious and healthy I felt like I was always starting my day right. I will definitely be back.

Such a cool funky industrial boutique hotel in the city, with so many things to do & see, and places to eat & drink all within walking distance or use the free bikes. The Shadow Wine Bar downstairs is a must. Rooftop terrace was a highlight with great city views. Fantastic communal living spaces & loved the "honour bar". Rooms are smaller but perfect for what we needed. The only minor negative was the elevator always took a really long time, but you can always use the stairs.

This hotel is especially recommended for; -business person -couples -travellers -those who spend more time for sightseeing and night life, rather than do nothing special but relax in the hotel. Hip, boutique hotel that is centrally located (quite literally) with friendly service. The rooms are on the smaller side but it didn't feel too small as the space was designed & used efficiently. Comfy bed, free movies on demand should you want to just have a night in and they have amazingly smelling soaps (shampoos, body wash etc). The common area is really well presented. The mezzanine level was our favourite chill out space where you can read the book that you wanted to finish on your trip or pick out one of many books/magazines made available for guests. There is also a rooftop terrace that looks out to the city where, if you are there for NYE, you have the front row seats to the fireworks. Really enjoyed our stay at Alex Hotel and we'll surely be back when we are back in Perth! Thanks team!

A different atmosphere! It's like being home in your kitchen/living room. If you go here for a shorter stay of one to two nights, the rooms are great. But I was there for six nights, and the lack of a place to hang your clothes starts to bother you a bit. Also, I missed a safe for my valuables in the room But I still give it two thumbs up.

Location, Location in the heart of Northbridge. However sound proofing of the rooms could have been done a tad better as on a weekend night if you're a light sleeper your bound to struggle to sleep. It's a hotel with an interesting style set up, an honesty system for alcohol but overall feels very cramped all throughout. I really disliked the placement of plants that were often slightly in the walkway. It's a pretty hotel and if you don't mind the overall crampyness to it, you're bound to enjoy the awesome location of it.

Having spent several months watching the hotel being built while sitting at Lot 20 bar we decided to go for my birthday early in August. Great vibe, loved the communal areas, share and honesty box concepts. Although we didn't use all of the facilities available we were really impressed with what was on offer. Genuine customer service and can't wait to have a few beers on the balcony when we return in Summer! I don't think I would consider anywhere else to stay in Perth and really enjoyed the late check out and free movies.

Had a chance to experience this hotel through Open House Perth. It's absolutely lovely! The main floor is not quite like most hotels, guests will feel welcomed as soon as they enter! It has a very homely relaxed vibe which is perfect if you're on holiday. Being located centrallying in Northbridge, it's a short stroll over the bridge to Yagan square, the train station and the rest of the CBD. There's a beautiful terrace that guests have access to and you get a great view of the city! Enjoy breakfast in their mezzanine breakfast bar or have a drink at their honour system beer fridge. If you're hungry visit Shadow Wine Bar downstairs and try a huge selection of wines and delicious food, just remember to save room for dessert!

Comfort + Class + Design + Great service!! Alex Hotel is understated elegance and warm hospitality wrapped up in a modern Scandi retro design packaging. Design lovers will recognise the HAY goods, lovely chairs and plush finishings meant to lull you into a comforting cocoon. The helpful and warm welcome starts even before you arrive, with a thoughtful email making sure you find your way here alright...where to park and what to expect. It’s a tiny gesture that brings comfort to the jet-lagged traveller. Once inside, Amy greets you with smiles a plenty and a super helpful attitude. You get a quick overview of all you need to know before you stumble up to your spartan but well appointed rooms. A quick rain shower (great pressure) and your cloud of a bed beckons. Breakfast was remarkably generous with fresh bread, jams, cereals, yoghurt pots, warm muffins and almond milk (a rare treat for the lactose intolerant traveller). After a horrid experience at a boutique heritage hotel, Alex has really redeemed Perth for us! Will make this our hotel of choice the next time we head here. A-plus for Alex Hotel! We recommend the lounge and roof top terrace for sure!

You're e couraged to spend time in their mezzanine. Breakfast is continental and their bar runs on an honour system which is awesome. It is right in town so it can be affected by noise. Located in the heart of Northbridge (on the corner of James and William Streets) this boutique hotel offers convenience and comfort. The best (and worst) of Northbridge are within easy reach and so is the recently opened Yagan Square. The large rooms are of a good size and are well appointed. Service is friendly and the continental breakfast is ok. The location means that it does get a tad noisy on the weekends.

Really great hotel in the middle of Perth's night life! Great team, service and location. Unfortunately not your first choice when you travel by car. The hotel has no parkings, public parkings nearby are pretty expensive and finding a free parking space on weekends is extremely difficult.

The rooms are small but trendy, clean, and well thought out. There is no unnecessary "fat" (I.e. things you don't use) and many practical inclusions like free unlimited WiFi for streaming Netflix, USB charging ports next to the bed, TV that pairs to your devices, complimentary bottled filtered water, etc. Many of the exclusions are simply shared for the whole level, which to be honest is a very smart way of doing things.

An incredible hotel located in the heart of Northbridge, close to the CBD, and easy to get to. Within walking distance to countless bars and incredible restaurants there's plenty of choice, including a wine bar downstair owned by the hotel. We stayed in a medium room with king bed which was great. The main feature of the hotel is the shared sitting areas with books, magazines, a record player and different areas to sit. The hotel staff also make espresso coffees and the coffee competes with some of the cafes in the area. The hotel staff were so welcoming and friendly when we arrived and were so helpful whenever we needed something. They're available 24 hours a day and do whatever they can to help out. We'll definitely be staying here again and would recommend to anyone!
