Really good service, especially the lady at the door who went out of her way to assist us. Our room was great and was really clean. Breakfast was scrumptious with a huge selection of breakfast foods. Our main reason for being there was for a wedding reception. The venue room was excellent, well decorated and the food was brilliant. We had a wonderful time and loved by everyone who attended. Well done to everyone at the Esplanade. Would recommend them 10 out of 10 to anyone.

The concierge lady was excellent. The breakfast and breakfast staff were excellent, the bar and bar staff were excellent. The staff are worth ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
The room was comfortable.
However when we look at the website photos to what is presented its like a different hotel.
The hotel needs a well over due make over. Its very sad the owners have let it become this way. I would love to know when the last time the owner checked in on how the hotel is looking.
The hotel was booked out every night we were there. So money isnt an issue.
I wont stay there again until the owner gives the building what it needs and that is love.

The hotel itself it's quite nice , the rooms quite average. Was looking forward spending the afternoon on the balcony, but there was two plastic chairs and that's about it. The hotel definitely needs an upgrade - The pool isn't as nice as the pictures and the pool bar was closed the full 4 nights we stayed there (perhaps advertising that it's not open, to avoid disappointment) House keeping needs improvement, or more staff, whichever, not up to 4-star standard. The breakfast was lovely, the concierge lady made our stay a lot easier as she seemed to have an answer to each of our questions- she amazing! (Would have rated her 5/5)

Hotel and staff were great. Very friendly and attentive.
Very disappointed with Christmas diner in the evening considering the amount charged....$159pp. No green veggies, Turkey tasted old and very dry, no gravy. Roast potatoes ok but no mashed ones unless you took it out of a lamb dish! this was my 3rd Christmas meal but won't be going again at Christmas. Gone down in my estimation.
Breakfast was good with plenty of choice

It’s a moderate sorta hotel but prices are exxy for what you get. One swimming pool is ok, the other run down. Service at the swimming pool bar is only limited hours, especially Sunday when they didn’t seem to be opening Sunday morning. Rooms, beds and linen are reasonable. Shower over bath kind of thing in the bathroom with rails so you don’t fall over getting into the bath. It’s not luxury but it’s clean and comfortable. The best thing about this hotel is the location. Walking distance to heaps of cool bars and cafes even in these days when Covid is closing everything down. Best to eat out anyway, unless you order chips. Chips are good at the bar. Our friends were nearly charged for mini bar they didn’t use, so watch your check out. Also we didn’t need to pay for parking which would have punched it up a lot.

Spent two nights here and loved it. Showing it's age but the rooms were clean and the beds very comfortable. The pools need updating and cleaning more often (not a good look). I loved the buffet breakfast and the adjacent bar was just lovely and had a relaxing feel about it. Loved it. Price of drinks was very reasonable. Staff were friendly and helpful. No valet parking. Parking was across the road $20 per day in an undercover carpark, but get in early, otherwise it is parking on the street. Fantastic location. Would definitely return.

Warmest thanks to everyone at The Esplanade in Freo who put together such a wonderful Christmas lunch today. The food was beautiful and all the staff on the floor were so attentive and friendly.
This was my families first Christmas having lunch at The Esplanade and we now look forward to making this a tradition each year.
Thank you again to all the team who gave up a bit of their Christmas Day to make ours wonderful.

Enjoyed a couple of days here. Breakfast was the best part, well prepared food and great variety. Then the bar in the evening with had a great atmosphere. Accommodation was a let down, quite basic, double bed and no storage. Good value overall
r. w.
Great value, we will probably go here rather than trek it down south with little kids. You're right in Freo, so walking distance to cafes, beach and lots of activities. The lobby area needs a bit of refresh, but the actual rooms were great! Super fresh and nicely done, with plenty of room.

This is our third trip to the hotel this year and we went with a 3 other families, the staff were very helpful and done everything they could to make our stay as relaxing as possible. The hotel is clean and in a great location we had a mix of park and pool view rooms and all were great value. Will definitely be back, thanks!

We stayed at The Esplanade on Friday night and we paid $345 for a Superior Pool Room! How disappointing the room was as there was absolutely nothing 'superior' about it. The room is tired, outdated, poorly presented and in need of an overhaul. Definitely not worth $345 for one night!
Yes, we had a pool view. Unfortunately the pool is in desperate need of repair and cleaning. It looks dirty, worn and in need of repair. We certainly weren't encouraged to jump in.
The cost of room service is exorbitant. 4 cans of beer cost $48 plus a $5 room delivery fee ($13.25 a can !!).
The buffet breakfast was limited in variety but tasty enough.
The staff were all very pleasant and helpful.
There is no valet parking available even though their website says there is.
When you look around the complex you notice how run down it is. Rusting balustrades, plaster missing and dirt piled up on the roof. These are maintenance issues and should be addressed as they detract from the overall presentation of the building.
What was once a beautiful iconic building in Fremantle is sadly going down hill.
D. H.
The room itself was nice enough but I would suggest some heavier doors on the rooms to block out noise from the main hallways and other rooms.
The wait to check in and check out was also extensive. We called up for room service and was told we'd have to wait 90 mins or more for some chips.
F. T.
Just loved the double Queen beds for two elderly ladies. The room was spacious, TV, air conditioning and bathroom fantastic, not forgetting the kettle, coffee and milk as the little
extras that made our stay enjoyable.
E. O.
Reception staff, bar staff, concierges and room staff were ALL so helpful, friendly and welcoming. The room was comfortable and breakfast was tasty and varied. The bar staff mixed excellent drinks and the reception was a delight to deal with. I have no hesitation in staying here again and encourage any one else to do so as well.
F. F.
I've stayed here 3 or 4 times over the last couple of years. It's clean, convenient and well priced. The best location in Fremantle next to boat harbour and shipwreck museum. I recommend it.
S. L.
Great food , lovely room, friendly staff, balcony over pool a bit tired but would still recommend the hotel , very enjoyable stay.
B. W.
Our second stay at Rydges was outstanding.
Comfortable rooms, great quality dining and terrific service from the staff all combine to ensure that we will definitely be returning.
Shout out to Max (Night Manager) and Joss (Bar) for your great hospitality.
K. W.
Rooms were clean and spacious. We had a lovely 4th floor balcony facing the pool. The pool looks like it needs some shock therapy.. im sure that is due to the rains. But a great place to stay for a few days or for a week.
C. C.
Had a long weekend here a few weeks ago. Although the hotel is a bit tired the room we had on the top floor was clean, large and quiet enough. It's a fantastic location - very central to everything Freo has to offer. The staff were all very polite and friendly - they also paid attention to the requests we made when booking. The breakfast was great too. I did notice a bit of painting going on so they're definitely making the effort to spruce things up too. I don't think it would cost much to resurface the pool and hope that's on the to do list to make it a bit more inviting. Overall accommodation in Freo can be a bit expensive so the recent deal on Luxury Escapes for this hotel was great value for money.

Very happy with the service we have received and would happily recommend this hotel for future stays. We stayed in the Park View Room, worth the price difference as view is lovely and room seemed bigger than others. Beds are very comfortable. Buffet breakfast is well done and barista coffee, very good also. The staff were all lovely, well trained and capable. Thank you Hotel Esplanade!
K. K.
Hotel was great. Service was excellent.
Pool area was gd the only thing was that the pool bar wasn't open. So everytime you wanted a drink you hd to put clothes on to go to the lobby and buy your drinks and food and wait to bring them back with you.
The toilets in the lobby area weren't very clean that was the only down fall.
k. t.
Love this hotel. Just so nice and central for everything. The breakfast buffet is always so nice and easy and love just sitting outside the hotel watching life. However balcony's need repainting and parts need retouching up.
S. F.
Nice hotel, friendly efficient staff. Room service was very good.
Nice spot for a or afternoon beer, I had both 👍🏻🙂
J. C.
Rooms were clean. A bit outdated and not much to do in the hotel. However since the location is near restaurants, cafes and beaches we found things to do.
V. M.
Loved it first time ever staying there great staff had a blast very clean rooms breakfast was absolutely 💯 % yummo thank you 😊
C. E.
The hotel location is convenient but for the high price we payed, the room was quite small, there was a bit rust in the bathroom, chips on the walls and parking is not free. Also, when we would call the front desk, there is always no answer or anyone manning the desk. Bit of a shame
C. &. J. W.
Great place to stay. Central to all areas of Fremantle CBD.
Great service from concierge team and special call out to Kylie who always super friendly and who always looks after my wife and I whenever we stay.
f. c.
3 of us stayed for 2 nights in pool view room. Pool was not used but was in horrible condition and not nice at all to look at when we were sitting on balcony. Room was nice. Bathroom was okay but had shower in bath so anyone with mobility issues would find it hard to get in and out. Quite noisy at night with people and traffic noises so maybe not the place for you if you like it really quiet. Buffet breakfast was just ok. Restaurant and lounge/lobby areas were nice and everything seemed clean. Beds and pillows were very comfortable.
R. N.
Only downside of this hotel is that they do not cater for coeliacs in the slightest. Their menu for the restaurant and the room service doesn't help at all for anyone who should not eat gluten.
C.
Had a wonderful time during our stay here, will definitely spend the extra few dollars for a room upgrade next visit. Convenient location to everything and stumbling distance from the pubs nearby, can't wait to go back!
H. P.
Been going for 5 years during the winter holidays. Rooms are clean and staff always welcoming. Special thanks to the amazing ladies at valet parking. Not only super organised but willing to go the extra mile. Playground and brewery across the road great for all ages. Breakfast has a great selection and the kids loved it. Already looking forward to our next trip.
J. G.
Had a deal for 2 days. Was truly amazing. Room over looking the Pool. Nice breakfast!!! Front desk service was fantastic. Would come again!!
C. C.
Well equipped upgraded room and great, freshly cooked breakfast every morning.
Luxe package included an evening drink and tasting plate.
m. q.
Lots of things...just had the Steak sandwich which my husband and I shared...it was so tasty and the steak was beautiful...thank you...
A. W.
The staff are all excellent. Especially Will at reception. The place needs a bit of renovation. A few leaks and a bit of mold in bathroom .Also could we please get healthier options on the menu.
Service was great. People friendly, love freo for all it has to offer. Best location ever!!
K. M.
Has quality service i wont lie, the food is great and the facilities are alright.
K. D.
The front counter manager Will was absolutely amazing. After a mess up with our booking he was very accommodating, calm and understanding. Will definitely stay again. Thank you again Will 😊👍.
M. M.
Nice experience, but service, feel and choice not as expected for such a hotel lobby bar. Should be better, but it was busy.
W. E.
Amazing! So excited to come back! Got this place for a wonderful rate at ʜᴏᴛᴇʟʙᴜʟʟʏ.ᴄᴏᴍ I love this resort and I'm so happy I stayed at my favorite hotel for less than what I generally pay.
Great location, staff really accommodating. Rooms are really comfortable and roomy with love aspect overlooking the pool. Would definitely stay here again.
A. G.
Had the High Tea for a baby shower yesterday at esplanade…. The staff were Amazing.. they set up the function room exactly how I wanted … they couldn’t have done more .. and the food .. oh my goodness .. delicious … and plenty for everyone there …
So if your wandering where to have a event .. I suggest you look no further than the esplanade … I promise you will leave very very happy with how it all was ..
Thankyou to all involved in yesterday’s High tea Baby shower .. you made it a wonderful event .
M. r.
Staff were very helpful, place was quite busy, a nice place to stay convenient to the markets or beach.
T. V.
Loved the esplanade. Michael was such a good bartender- very accomodating for our individual needs he turned our experience from a 4 to a 5. Highly recommend this bar to everyone..
Z. A.
Accommodation is lovely, spa bath was great. Room service was okay, had each of the pizzas, both average. Staff were very friendly.
P. P.
Front desk staff member, Emma, was very helpful in accommodating a special request recently. Very happy with the service I have received and would happily recommend this hotel for future stays. Thank you!
S. H.
Staff were nice, but the hotel needs a lot of work (maintenance), although the rooms were clean and it was pleasant. Close to all the restaurants and nightlife
A. B.
Hotel is nice, rooms and beds are fine. The pool view room, well actually your looking at a multistorey carpark.
And to top it off you have to pay for parking.
M. P.
Room was great, clean nicely decorated bed comfortable. Only miss giving was the bar shut very early, as we bought friends back after dinner for some drinks! Plus they didn't have any of the drinks we requested. Being a big hotel and in a tourist area it should of been a lot better!
I. B.
The exterior of the building was old-school even on the new section. It interior was inviting and the rooms were very nice and roomy.
M. P.
So clean, smellt fresh everyday with housekeeping. good size room and all staff were super friendly!! Good location 🙂
S. W.
Great crew shame we didn't see any whale but the boat was really nice very comfortable and clean, my husband enjoyed the bar
P. C.
Friendly and helpful staff. Nice rooms. Bar and food prices are reasonable. Great location.
T. S.
Wow what a place very good rooms excellent helpful staff. Great bar loads of accommodation to suit.
A.
Only went for a drink at the bar. Seemed really nice. Very polite staff..
K. M.
We booked a king room with a pool view and spa bath. Checked in early but was unable to collect key card until later as room wasn’t ready. On collection of key card was told room number, which I questioned as wasn’t a pool view room. Was told couldn’t have that room now and that I had been given a $100 credit to spend in the hotel.
Went to room disappointed as our view was of a roof.
In the morning went to run the spa bath and no hot water.
Breakfast buffet style was cold and not really enjoyable.
Pool was filthy, you wouldn’t want to swim in it. There is even a wire hanging out of one of the pool lights.
Bar shut at 9.30pm even though guests till there enjoying a chat and a drink.
No complementary water in room
On a positive note - rooms where clean and the bed comfortable.
When complained about hot water etc the check out person did take off our parking and mini bar charge.
Hotel is in a great location
M. C.
Had a king size room was average nothing to wow about spa bath was good
Room service was bad the first night they forgot that we ordered so had to ring them up again they have a good buffet breakfast
S. T.
Nice hotel - very centrally located - easy to get to the cappuccino strip - good food in the bar/restaurant - staff pleasant and friendly.
P. J.
Great location, staff were mostly friendly and helpful.
K. V. S.
Great venue for holding functions. Very good bar service and comfortable relaxed seating . Prices competitive. Great venue if just simply visiting for a casual drink , overnight accommodation stay or dinner at the restuarant. Ample parking available within close proximity of hotel complex.
N. C.
second stay at this hotel, stayed in Nov last year and it was fantastic and the service was what you would expect. But the second trip was disappointing from the perspective of service. reception was where it all failed. Staff didnt listen or even want to help. Thank goodness the concierge staff, who where overwhelmed with guests, stayed positive, polite and professional. Our package also included wine and chocolates, after enquiring at reception we received them on our second day 2.5hrs after the last time i reminded reception. staff can make or break a stay. The reception staff need training.
S. L.
The hotel is excellently situated in the heart of Fremantle with multiple bars and restaurants in short walking distance.
The pool area is adequate for a quick dip and has plenty of towels and sunbeds available.
The room appeared recently refurbished, it was a decent size and had a good size fridge.
The bathroom facility was ok but lacked a exhaust fan meaning the mirrors were steamed up but no big deal.
The parking was not ideal and ended up expensive after a 2 night stay.
Overall we were impressed and had a great short break
S. L.
Older style hotel but tidy n clean. Modernised n comfortable. Bfast is too expensive in my view.
S. K. W.
Stayed there for a night for my partner’s birthday. The hotel is located right next to the town centre, very convenient within walking distance. Staff were friendly and breakfast was buffet with lots of choices. If you want to have proper coffee, you will need to pay for that, otherwise you can have the American style black coffee in a glass jar.
S.
Great place to stay, valet parking needs work though. Food and service very good.
B. T.
Good hotel - rooms comfortable - good food in the bar - very centrally located.
V. W.
Good for a nice weekend away close to the main cafe strip and very close to the beach 🙂
b. l.
Messed the room up a little, had to park across the road and pay for parking...
Otherwise was a really nice place
A.
Located on the oceanfront in Fremantle and within easy walking distance to the cappuccino strip. Public parking is readily accessible.
Lovely room. We had asked for a superior double and got a superior twin but it …
B. P.
Lovely place to stay. Close to town and fisherman's wharf. Big park and ferris wheel across the road.
C. O.
Great experience. Friendly and professional staff. Clean rooms that actually even smell clean. Lovely view of the foreshore and park area. Delicious food. Great location for shopping, going for a stroll, meeting friends for drinks and dinner.
J. T.
very clean, friendly and down to earth staff. not to pricey. accommodation is clean and tidy. buffet breakfast was great
M. Y.
Nice hotel, clean rooms, nice service, food is medicore. Somewhat pricy.
T. L.
Beautiful, friendly staff, had a wonderful time at my 2021 conference.
G. R.
The toilets were filthy. The place was pretty nice but needs a cleaning bee/working bee.
D. C.
A 2 night stay here. Room was great, service was amazing especially valet parking. Beds were extremely comfortable. Enjoyed it overall.
D. M.
Rooms were okay, clean and good bed! The staff at the concierge weren't interested, at all. No pleasantries or even a smile as we walked past on our way to dinner. Actually scowling at us. Weird. No filtered drinking water provided in the room. Struggled with that. Very unwelcoming and impersonal. Have been to so many hotels that charge a lot less but have so much more character and friendliness.
R. D.
Check in was at 2pm could not get our room until around 3pm as it was not ready. Pay nearly $400per nite and breakfast not included..
G. M.
It’s old and worn to be honest but very well positioned in Fremantle. Staff are friendly facilities get a tick with the rooms clean and tidy. It’s not five star by any means but if you are satisfied with clean rooms, low key lazy days give it a try. Walking distance to most things in Freo and a good one night weekend stop over during your travels.
C. M.
Great customer service! Rodger from the front desk really helped us out and made it a great experience! We also ate at the buffet brekky, which we highly recommend! Lots to choose from and delicious! Will definitely be staying again!
A. P.
The room was a good size with a very comfortable bed. Room service food is good if you don't want to leave the room. The only negative I found was that you could hear people walking and talking in the hallway outside the room, but this stopped after 10 pm. Overall a great place in a great location.
S. S.
It's ok. Room smells a bit musty. It's generally quite clean. Food is OK.
S. J.
Great location but a bit dated the food was ok and staff attentive
J.
One of my favourite places to eat, such quick service and friendly staff. Very reasonable prices and drinks with a lovely atmosphere. Can't fault this place yet with all that it has to offer. Highly highly recommend if you haven't had the chance to experience yet.
Even managed to get a table and dinner on New year's Eve at 9pm with food running an hour past service. You guys are awesome.
L. B.
Nice clean room, overpriced both room and food, friendly staff. Location to hospital, ideal.
C. B.
Beautiful hotel that is well located with good sized, clean rooms. The staff were very friendly and helpful and there are lots of options to eat and drink within the premises. Short walk to many attractions.
D. S.
Nice place to stay.
Great bar.
Great restaurant.
K. E.
While I didn’t stay here, I did run a complex two day event to welcome home a large group of Antarctic expeditioners. We ate here, drank here, hosted a reception and provided accommodation for over 50 people.
I can’t fault the quality of service we got at every level. The rooms were well prepared, the accommodation was well received and the beer was cold and available.
The function organisation was terrific and the food (especially the pizzas) were great. Staff were attentive and flexible.
The hotel is close to the port and all of the great restaurants and cafes in Fremantle and taxi and Uber transport was easy to get.
J. E.
Great location, staff really accommodating. Rooms are really comfortable and roomy with love aspect overlooking the pool. Would definitely stay here again.
D. K.
Convenient to all of fremantle. Nice rooms though large hotel so my room was a long long walk. Nice pool area good breakfast. Accommodating staff. Cocktails average.
A. M.
Fantastic service , value for money, clean rooms and centrally located.
A. E.
The reception staff were so friendly and helpful that my stay started with an excellent vibe. This continued as the housekeeping staff and restaurant staff were all so friendly. The room was spacious and the coffee counter was very nice. The bathroom was large and very clean. There are options for dining. The buffet at breakfast was full of tempting choices and really good coffee. The hotel has 2 lovely pools and a resort feel. The historic building and great location just added to the positive experience.
P. K.
It's been many years since we last stayed here. And the place has had a bit of a spruce up since.
Our room was clean, comfortable, and spacious.
And quality toiletries were provided.
Our tariff came with breakfast and the offerings were acceptable, even the coffee in flasks. There was juice, fresh fruit, yoghurt, cereals, bread, pastries, eggs, baked beans, sausages, bacon, tomatoes, and hash browns.
We also had a tasting plate each day and drinks (beer or wine) too.
Service is friendly and efficient and there is disabled access.
We took the train in but paid parking is available.
B. B.
Couple of nights.
Clean, quiet and comfortable
D. H.
Valet parking attendant was rude and unhelpful. Breakfast was good as per the room although compared to other hotels I personally think it is over priced.
L. F.
Good service. Aircon wasn’t working & very disappointing for the price we paid.
N. W.
I have been a regular guest of this hotel for over 10 years. The location is awesome and the staff are really helpful and friendly, the amenities are great. Some noticeable changes since I last stayed (pre-covid) such as no late night room service or movies (Netflix button on the remote but the app is not connected to WiFi). All in all a really great stay!
R. I.
Stayed 3 days was a perfect place to base ourselves for our Freo weekend👍👍
C. M.
It has everything you want in a nice hotel: centrally located, pool, comfy beds, etc. But, it's all the bare minimum. Stayed twice and both times there were issues with mess/hair in odd spots. Fixtures are all the cheapest basic option. Routine maintenance is clearly being put off in rooms and facilities. Seems like it could be incredible if it were run by owners that took some pride in operating an iconic hotel and/or who weren't shamelessly cheap. Won't stay again.
P. R.
Love this place. Rooms are clean, staff a great.
s. b.
Excellent customer service , clean and tidy , had a great stay
S. D.
The king bedroom with spa bath was perfect. Got early check-in with very friendly staff. Pools were quiet and good space. Really happy with our weekend getaway
M. L.
Fantastic place to stay in the centre of Fremantle. Greeted at the door by welcoming staff. Clean comfortable rooms with lovely views of the pool area. Good value for money.
M. M.
Chain hotel with a personal feel. Excellent breakfast. Staff was very helpful and friendly with requests. It was a no fuss stay which was refreshing. We ended up extending our stay because we enjoyed this particular hotel so much. Room was clean and quiet. Bed was extremely comfortable too. No complaints from us. Had some issues with housekeeping but the front desk handled them promptly and exceeded my expectations. Will definitely return again.
R. D.
Good place to stay in the heart of Fremantle. Handy to all the local cafes and bars. Great helpful staff. Rooms are average for Rydges hotels.
L. O.
Great stay Beautiful Staff Amazing Place Fremantle
P. H.
Lovely hotel. Rooms great. Facilities good.
But....
The main bar shuts at 8pm. Embarrassing
There were quite a few people let down. Imagine international travellers turning up and the bar it shut at such an early hour. Come on lify your game
S. W.
It's a good location and nice hotel but a few issues to address. Very long walk from the elevator to our room and uber eats bags all along the halls. No cutlery in the kitchenette. No almond milk in the barista bar at breakfast, no gluten free toast or options in the buffet. Pros: friendly staff, great bed, good hygiene.
A. M.
This is an good place to stay in the iconic Fremantle.
Great location and facilities.
The rooms are very modern and very well stocked and prices of the mini bar are pretty reasonable.
Layout is a bit odd and corridor little small but i guess it is what it is and not a big issue.
Bar and restaurant are well placed and you will enjoy using them. Bar has a great view of the park across the road.
The noise in the corridors travel very well and you will hear all the comings and goings or neighbours. Keys are very sensitive to magnetic forces and had to get ours re coded several times.
Would stay again and looking forward to it.
E. S.
We enjoyed 2 luxurious nights in a room with all mod cons, balcony overlooking the pool and a very comfortable bed. This hotel is close to Fremantle markets, shops and restaurants. Staff were helpful and professional.
D. B.
Always a great place, new menu with great food and friendly staff
B. N.
Always a pleasure to stay there, its my first choice when i go to the city
c. d.
If you want to stay anywhere in Perth stay here, there's so many food places around and so much to do, the rooms are amazing and the pool is gorgeous
J. C.
Friendly and efficient. Great ambience.
R. R.
Average prices, lovely bartenders. Haven't tried the food.
P. D.
Very disappointed with bar closing at 9 pm on new year's day
E. H.
Great spot to eat and drink and watch the street traffic Comfy seating and good background music
M.
Very comfortable hotel with spacious room and lovely balcony outlook.
J. D.
Delightful staff, accommodating and generous. Modern, clean, quiet rooms. Everything worked AOK
D. C.
Great ,Friendly ,clean rooms fantastic location for walking around Freo :)
M. C.
Had a king size room was average nothing to wow about spa bath was good
Room service was bad the first night they forgot that we ordered so had to ring them up again they have a good buffet breakfast
R. J.
Went there for a Christmas lunch, 320 of us and it a excellent experience. Friendly and helpful staff, clean and well set out facilities. Would recommend it to anyone. Well done.
D. R. M.
The. best hotel in freemantle. Close beach, beautifull...
S. W.
Excellent hotel with great offers, friendly staff and two pools to enjoy. Checkout the big breakfast, worth it and also love the late checkout time of 11.
S. P.
Over rated and over priced but the staff were good.
C. B.
A bit dated but staff friendly, check in and out has always been quick. Any issues have been resolved and compensated which was appreciated.
J. A.
Cam here for a conference, and received a decent deal with the package. The check-in and service was very good, and though no on-site parking there was vet parking. Rooms were nice, with a big comfy king bed. Room was clean with a small balcony overlooking pool area. The room had plenty of plug points both sides of the bed ( a pet annoyance for me when they don't). The location is fantastic with short 5min or less walk to the Freo markets, little creatures and waterfront. Overall a good stay and would happily go back.
G. W.
Great spot ... close to everything in Freo, just park the car (valet service not available but we were given a deal to park it ourselves in nearby parking) and walk & take it all in!
Rooms are lovely as are the staff.
Curious for such a high standard hotel that the lift wasn't cleaned while we were there, we saw the litter on the floor was gone when we left after lunch ... and that late check out is s real treat!!!
Our deal included breakfast and there was a great buffet supplied.
We also had a drink and small platter in our offer which was tasty.
We've been twice in two months, it's that enjoyable & hope to come again in 2021.
V. G.
Great location and iconic building located in the heart of Freo. The staff were always friendly and professional. Rooms are comfortable. Not exceptional. But no complaints about the cleanliness nor the age. They looked like they had been recently refurbished.
Good breakfast buffet but if you have time. Go stretch your legs and grab some food from the plenty of cafe options in the the area.
S. G.
Enjoyed a good night's rest and great breakfast. Thank you
E. F.
The place is freaking huge, has the atmosphere of an airport. I went there for the Made on the Left! event, which was great! Very inspiring, a wide range of handmade goods from lamp shades to homemade jams and cordials. The events hall was surprisingly big for being inside a hotel, which is already big enough to house about 4 separate restaurants. Still, the overall size of the hotel just creeps me out, I can't help but think its kind of unnecessary.
R. J.
Went there for a Christmas lunch, 320 of us and it a excellent experience. Friendly and helpful staff, clean and well set out facilities. Would recommend it to anyone. Well done.

Great place to stay but we couldn't get a coffee or alcohol or food after 20.30 Tuesday night after the Dockers AGM. Many of the Dockers supporters would have liked a cup of coffee.
Enjoyed the accomadation but the lack of coffee and food after 20.30 Tuesday night.
T. F.
Room service after 9.30 is non existent for a large hotel would expect better!
D. B.
The hotel feels right for the price and excellent location. Not high end but comfortable with just enough renovation to offset some of the older fixtures and fittings. Positives: location, associated bars, inviting lobby, good value packages. Drawbacks: Pool view room was fairly tired and had a fairly strong 'old hotel room' musty smell. Overall great to use as a short stay base to explore Freo.

I would like to commend the lady on Concierge on Friday 25 Th. Saturday Th. September during the dancing festival. The employee’ name is Kylie and she was the biggest asset your hotel had over these two days. My daughter and I checked in with twin babies a 3 year old and an 11 year old, luggage to suit all situations and my Daughter who is also is principal of a participating Dance School. Kylie was so friendly, nothing was too much trouble and her entire demeanour was welcoming on a very stressful day. Kylie even came and checked on me in the lounge the next day to see if I was managing. I would suggest that this lady is one of your prime faces at the hotel. We have had a good weekend ,like every place there are a few things you should address but nothing of major significance. Good luck getting rid of the glitter.😂😂

Sorry that I have no photo to share, but, the Esplanade Hotel is a really lovely Hotel, situated in Fremantle Western Australia. We went there for a meal and quiet drinks prior to an event we had been invited to. The meal was very nice indeed - we all had something different and shared each others plates. I have since been back there a few times to catch up with friends for a quiet coffee and also for lunch. Highly Recommended. Lovely staff and a very nice ambience.

Breakfast is a buffet and is awesome and has lots of variety. Beds are comfy. We had3 people and was expecting a room with 2 double beds. But our room had a rollaway so the room was very squashy and not acceptable . We had booked along time in advance so expected a better room . There were kids running up and down the hallway and we're very noisy
W. N.
I stayed at the Esplanade during a conference that was also hosted at the hotel. The staff were great! Very patient with over 600 delegates from all over the world.
There were major renovations being done in quite a few rooms but disturbance was kept to a minimum.
There are two pools and not a bad little gym. The gym could be bigger and more well equipped, but it was ok to keep the blood moving.
There is a nice bar space that is well appointed and well staffed.
K. M.
Neat and clean. Front counter staff are very friendly and knowledgeable about their area and events taking place. Valet parking is available and very good value. Beds are nice and comfortable. Kettle and fridge in room along with a very large desk for working at. The best place to stay in Freo. Did I mention they give you games to play in room AND there's even a pillow menu!
A. M.
Beautiful Building. Hotel rooms are lovely, clean, comfortable, sleek and have a homely feel. Dining and drinks here are very good. Location is fantastic. Walking distance to everything in Fremantle. Staff here are very helpful and accommodating. Thanking You!
T. W.
We occasionally have a long weekend here. So central to everything
P. D.
Very disappointed with bar closing at 9 pm on new year's day
L. R.
Very decent accommodation in a nice location near the Fremantle foreshore and marina. I was impressed by the size of the restaurant atrium inside the hotel, which seemed bigger than the hotel had looked from the outside. A well known local food option is Cicerello's, just across the park.
T. B.
amazing service!! great rooms! air conditioning wasn't working in one of the rooms, they tried fixing it but sadly it still didn't work so they offered me and my two friends a whole new free upgraded room! they helped with our luggage plenty of times and were very helpful, it's such a beautiful place as well. great food! I ordered a drink and it took awhile so they gave it to me for half price. great pool and spa's, defiantly recommend this place to everyone!!

Beautiful location, nice room , great bed.
Nice breakfast
Room was refurbished, but terrible paint work and balcony really need cleaning
F. w. F.
Nice hotel, good location. Even let us have a late checkout. Would recommend.
K. S.
Need a toothbrush n paste pack with the toiletries in the room bcuz if you do forget your own, it would be nice to have the option when you shower for a new day.
C. J.
I was pleasantly surprised with the room size after booking online. Reception staff & valet
Were absolutely delightful. Loved the new bar poolside. I thoroughly enjoyed the breakfast, although my wife only need toast and coffee. Next time we will visit Dome. Generally a nice stay, although the mattress may be due for a freshen up.
M.
Lovely location in the heart of Fremantle staff are friendly great place in summer
L. C.
Enjoyable stay. The concierge was a bit busy so we ended up getting our own bags each way- so might need some more staffing there. Great breakfast, spa nice and warm. Pool nearly warm enough. Towels at pool were hard to find and damp. Room was lovely- although I wouldn't say it had 'city views'! As a mum with two young kids it's never easy to travel around- I would have liked to see at least one staff member go the extra mile to make life easy for a busy mum. Just offer to carry something, or stand with one kid while mum took the other to the toilet. The little things. Overall though we had a lovely time.
H. C.
This is a great location inside a picturesque building. The lobby is beautiful and feels very spacious due to the high ceilings. The toiletries provided are some of the best I have seen in a hotel. The shampoo and conditioner were lovely. The bathroom had a huge bath for relaxing in after a big day out. The standard room is of a decent size and is appointed with all of the expected mod-cons. The service was friendly and all of the staff were very welcoming. The buffet breakfast was the highlight. The restaurant area is well laid out and has a large array of options. They have traditional western hot breakfast options, i.e. bacon and eggs etc. They have an egg cooking station too, where you can get yourself an omelette made to your own specifications. They have a barista station too, but you have to pay extra for one of those. They will also allow you to leave your bags in their lock up if you want to adventure around after checking out, but don't want the encumbrance of your luggage. The gym is not great though. It looks like they have collected a few pieces of equipment found during a council clean-up and thrown them in a room. Overall, a great place to stay.
C. C.
Booked the Esplanade for my birthday weekend. Right in the heart of Fremantle. Service was friendly and very helpful. Breakfast buffet was extremely satisfying. With ample selection of food. Rooms were clean and serviced every day. Will definitely return.
G. K.
Very nice place to stay. Rooms are a little dated but very clean and well kept. I had breakfast buffet and it was very good. Location is great as well, very close to many shops and restaurants. You can walk to almost anything. Parking is rough though, valet parking wound up being easiest.
I. H.
Beautiful location, very impressed with the service. Staff were friendly and helpful. Our room had all the requirements needed. The bed was like sleeping on a cloud. Loved the place. Would recommend to all my friends.
J. T.
I love this hotel, although the beer is pricey the accommodation is top notch and well priced. Location is close to all the happening pubs, clubs and restuarants. The only downside is there is very little parking so be prepared to park in the street.
T. N.
What a great location! And beautiful hotel full of history. This was our first ever family holiday with my daughter who is 2 so there were so many things that could have gone south. But the hotel and bar staff were amazing with us and it made for a wonderful place to make new memories. And my daughter had the time of her life which was amazing to see for my husband and I.
M. D.
Love it here...we spent our honeymoon here thirty one years ago. Everytime we are in town we drop in for a visit and we are never disappointed. I like to remember the old days before it got the "America's Cup" revamp. Certainly the new has lost that old pub feel, but it has an atmosphere that I am happy to praise. Well done.
M. L.
Just wanted to say that this hotel was absolutely fantastic. Our disabled room was wonderful, with plenty of room for my husbands mobility scooter, fantastic accessible bathroom and the size of the room made it easy for him to use his walking stick to walk around the beds etc. The hotel itself is highly disability friendly and had ramps which made all areas accessible.
Other hotels should look to this one as a wonderful example for disabled persons.
All staff, from the valet to desk staff to wait staff etc were extremely professional, friendly and most helpful. I cannot fault this hotel at all and we will return in the future.
Food was magnificent too
T. M.
We took advantage of the room service menu and found the quality to be the best in town thus far. Our room was nice and quiet overlooking the pool on the fourth floor. Staff very helpful. A handy location to the downtown area and cruise port are this hotel's assets.
N. H.
Great customer service...awesome location..beautiful food.
A. C.
Lovely hotel. Great location. Staff very friendly and helpful Downside breakfast although very good was exactly the same every day . Cleaning not the best but acceptable. Bar seemed to close whenever they wished 10 o'clock one night never stayed open later than 11 which for a quality hotel seemed very poor.Would definitely stay there again.
H. W.
Very comfortable beds and food was delicious
A. G.
3.5 star. Very nice location with short walk to restaurants, pubs, parks, and local sights. Hotel rooms are basic and mine had no view. Room price seems a bit on high side. Nice breakfast but not included and no drinking water included in price. Old but historic.
D. N.
Only negative is the early closure of the Bar.Otherwise good recommendations all round
J. P.
Stunning building , brilliant area... highly recommend
S. B.
Great service, clean and comfortable room. (210)
The room had recently been refurbished and looked modern clean and fresh, with all amenities and a huge balcony overlooking the park, best of all the bed was incredibly comfortable.
My only suggestion would be to totally remove the old spa bath. In my opinion this was the only thing that let the modernization down and dated the bathroom. But did not impact on the quality and comfort.
T. M.
Had a great balcony overlooking the pool. Breakfast selection in the morning excellent with plenty of options. The staff were very helpful and friendly. I enjoyed our stay with my family but probably wouldn't choose to stay there again as I feel I could get more for my money elsewhere.
R. C.
Room was clean but the alarm clock in the room was set for midnight. When I told reception on departure he couldn't care less. So I guess they will do nothing to ensure this doesn't happen to future guests
B. B.
Having booked a king suite with spa (premiere room) we were disappointed that the view was of the roof and aircon.
As we had been married on Friday, during the horrendous Australian bushfires, we lost our venue as it was destroyed as well as a number of other Issues we faced so we were very much looking forward to our suite for our honeymoon. The duty Manager ( Dasni) was incredibly accommodating and changed our booking as well as delivered a complementary bottle of Champagne to our room. The new room was / is fantastic and thanks to her we are now able to have a wonderful honeymoon!
Our tip: check the view of the room Before you book just in case if your not sure ring or email the hotel to check before you book!
K. E.
Comfy bed. Great location. Large rooms. Nice and clean. Only downside was the poolside bar was closed for a private function which meant that paying hotel guests had no access to the pool or bar. Not happy about that at all.
T. M.
Great place to stay centrally located in Fremantle close to everything. Awesome buffet breakfast. Comfy bed very clean room .
A. W.
A very enjoyable stay. Comfortable accommodation, good service and such a wonderful location. We really enjoyed being in walking distance to the harbour, playground, shops and restaurants. There was something for everyone to keep the whole family happy! Our only issue was we found the parking expensive.
B. G.
Meh. Lovely looking from the outside, very tired on the inside. They definitely talk up the bars like the pool bar but it's a little meh, pool overlooked by the multistory carpark. Dont do the breakfast, for alot less you have some amazing g options within 5mins walk.
A. B.
Great location! This was a great base for getting out to see Fremantle. Friendly and professional staff and comfortable room (if a little worn and in need of some minor repairs). The main lobby, bars/restaurant and pool area are fabulous and lively (school formals, nightlife and birthday parties). Valet parking was easy and took away any effort on our part.
B. D.
This could be an amazing hotel thanks to its location but sadly it is dated and in need of repair. The hotel lobby looks like a relic from the late 80's with uninspiring sculptures that are as out of place as a car in a swimming pool.
The rooms are not much better, clean but failing to inspire any imagination.
The breakfast buffet isnt to bad, expensive but tasty enough. They have a juice bar which is great and espresso is an additional charge.
The venue also has an outdoor pool which could be nice in the warmer months and a small but functional gym.
T. M.
Fabulous spot in the heart of Fre***tle to spend a night. Lots of waterfront bars and restaurants are just across the park from the hotel. The services and setting provided were 1st class and the room which we were upgraded too over looking park was great. Breakfast was very good with a great selection.
l. S.
Had a great Staycation, buffet breakfast included in price and well worth it rooms very nice, 2 pool areas and good location
A. F.
All I can say is that the breakfast buffet is amazing, especially the friendly lady making omlettes to order in front of you! Thanks so much for this wonderful experience! We keep on coming back since years!
L. L.
The esplanade was excellent. I had booked a night for my birthday, but had done it online and on a phone. I didn't realise until check in that I had selected the wrong dates. The esplanade were extremely understanding and within a very short time were able to change my booking to the correct dates. Life savers. Thank you.
T. M.
We initially were in a ground floor room with partial view to the pool but we changed to room 412 the next day to get elevated view from a private balcony overlooking harbour and partial city view. The location is ideal with easy access to Freo cafes and the wharf areas. Thank you for helping to make our stay enjoyable.
I. W.
Lovely hotel. But was astounded to see my car out the front at night after putting it in secure parking with the valet for 3 days. After trying to clarify why, I asked the concierge to rectify. When I came back 2 hours later from dinner my car was still sitting out the front. I was told the concierge had only just gone on a break. Not happy this is NOT secure
H. A.
Getting run down. Stayed here a year ago and it was much better. Breakfast buffet has gone downhill significantly - possibly from the best around to run of the mill. Taken away the juicing machine which was always a hit. Had a sharing plate as part of our 3 night stay but it was exactly the same each night - fried squid and hommus dip. Pool filthy on day 1 then closed on day 2. Rooms ok but getting old. No bed head. Maybe covid has impacted them financially but people won't go back to a substandard hotel.
J. L.
Lovely hotel. Clean and comfortable. Great food and atmosphere. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend.
K. L.
Room good although a long walk with no view. Disappointed with continental breakfast compared to other hotels as I don't eat more than poached eggs on toast and was told would have to pay for full breakfast and coffee.
R. K.
Excellent hotel in excellent location.
Rooms are great.
The aircon is a bit noisy.
C. H.
Loved the stay. The only issue was parking because we arrived at 2pm. We had to circle the block a few times until someone left. Also would be great if they had an ATM inside such a large place. We walked to the one around the corner and there was a queue so we ended up a little later for our event. The rooms were very nice and tidy and had everything you would need. There was no fan in the bathroom which made for a foggy experience. There were excellent choices in the mini bar and very nice amenities.
A. H.
Lovely, right in the centre of Fremantle. We were there for a football club dinner, room of about 500 people. Food and drinks were well managed and tasty.
E. W.
Very nice and comfortable stay. Great location.
J. G.
This hotel was in an excellent location. Walking distance to a multitude of fantastic eateries and retail outlets. Room service was not efficient had to ask twice when my room would be serviced in the late afternoon. Pool needed a scrub but I got it at a bargain price
K. H.
Most staff great and helpful. Nice rooms need a maintenance check
c. p.
The location is great and I chose this over other hotels for the facilities but with hindsight I would stay elsewhere in future. The outside & central areas of the hotel are modern & well maintained with good staff but the rooms themselves are tired and pretty basic with little character. The sauna was out of order and the spa set up was a little strange with only two toilets (not changing rooms) to use for changing in!
J. M.
Excellent service and quick check in. Slightly long walk to the elevators but the room was very well presented. There was an excellent TV which included some Foxtel channels as well!! Bathroom was nice, but the on the shower tap the hot and cold seemed backwards. Room service was quick and the food was lovely. The location in Fremantle is fantastic, with a large number of restaurants just a short walk a way. The breakfast wasn't too bad. A few of the buffet items seemed to have been left in the warmer too long. Check out was also quick and the valet was very fast as well.
A. M.
Everyone seemed very professional and friendly. The room was clean and neat, but there were some loose wires with a lot of dust on, which indicates that they've been like that for a while. The spa also wasn't working properly. Overall, a good stay, but room for improvement.
J. A.
Got a very low rate but a great room with a large balcony shaded by trees. Staff are genuinely helpful. Location is central, and street parking during the week is easy if you don’t want to use the valet parking option.
C. &. B. D.
Ground floor hotel rooms still slightly dated, bathrooms particularly showers and baths need renovating OR at least the heads changed. Exhaust fans in bathrooms need cleaning or upgrading cause they don't work they do nothing to remove the steam. Kitchenettes need a make over including the kettles which are ten years old and don't turn off properly. Perhaps a coffee machine with pods would be a welcome addition for price of room. Beds were comfy, Good selection of pillows and TV channels average.
G. W.
Room I had seemed to have been recently partially renovated. Carpets look farily new. Bathroom tiles are modern. Very comfy beds. Some of the furniture is a little dated though. Overall rooms are quite good. The hotel location is great in Fremantle. You can't get free parking though so watch out for that.
J. G.
Nice old hotel. Clean could do with an update. Breakfast was lovely
S. D.
We enjoyed a one night stay for a Passenger concert at the Fremantle Arts Centre. Our initial impression with the room was a little disappointing. The decor was certainly dated but the size of the room quickly made up for that. And then when we found a massive spa bath in the bathroom we were overjoyed. The staff were friendly and accommodating. The king sized bed was incredible. Both my wife and I enjoyed a really great night's sleep in an incredibly comfortable bed and pillows I wish we could have taken home with us. But the highlight of the stay for us was the room service breakfast. The servings were extremely generous and the food itself was amazing. This was a restaurant quality meal. The omelette was the best I've ever had and the bacon was incredible, cooked to perfection. To compliment that the fresh fruit and yoghurt were gastronomically perfect. A beautiful balance to the hot food that proceeded it., We booked the Esplanade Hotel as a convenience to avoid having to drive home after the concert. However, our stay made the whole weekend so much more pleasurable. A truly special place that we will definitely take the time to visit again. The close proximity to the markets, fishing boat harbour and all that Fremantle has to offer makes the Esplanade Hotel a great location to stay and explore from.
W. B.
Ok hotel, hasn't changed a lot over the years. Check in was slow, rooms fairly simplistic. I reckon over priced.
T. P.
We attended a property convention here for work. The staff were incredibly friendly and more than accommodating to any requests that we or any of the other guests had. We had breakfast at the buffet which was exceptional in comparison to some of the ones that I have experienced and the catered food for the lunch service was fantastic. Coupled with the incredible service from staff and the great food, this is a great place to hold business conventions and I sincerely hope we will be back here again for work, and if not work, a holiday.
s. m.
Another great stay at The Esplanade, spotlessly clean room, super comfy bed, always friendly & welcoming staff.
For a reasonable price, you cannot go wrong with this hotel. The 1pm checkout is especially fantastic if you have a late flight. Thank you!
B. D.
Maintains its position as the fanciest hotel in the middle of the fun parts of Freo. Great food and service at a moderately premium price but the location is superb. If it had a casino I think it would attract the same crowd as it already does.
C. H.
Stayed here for work and he facilities were great. Clean rooms. Decent size and really comfy king size bed. Good hot water and shower system. Breakfast was ok. A little over priced but usual selection. Lunch and dinner catering wS nice but same both days. Good gluten free dairy free options too.
J. C.
Went with a group to the buffet, and the food was great. However 3 of us bought the "unlimited refills" soft drink deal, and the manager wouldn't give us a carafe or jug of the soft drink because she said others at the table might drink from it also (she actually said this, and most of the group we were with were pensioners). She insisted one of their staff will refill our glasses, however refills were few and far between and most of the time we were without drink in our glass.
Otherwise, the food and other staff there were great, and I would go back for more.
S. W.
All in all a Good visit had, service and timings can be improved, tasting plate offering as part of package wasn't the best quality and was very basic! Pools were very cold couldn't take our 1 year old in as he would start shivering. No spa and sauna amenities although sinage displayed detailing otherwise. Rooms were nice and clean. Badically if your looking for somewhere to park yourself while exploring the sites of Freo and Perth then it's suitable but not somewhere you want to stay for an extended period, certainly don't expect anything above and beyond.
T. M.
Great hotel staff were excellent. I enjoyed a short visit to the gym and pool/spa downstairs ( good way to get a holiday underway) and we had drinks in the marine bar that evening, though ate elsewhere in town. We were really pleased we picked this hotel as had a brilliant time.
T. M.
Character building and good location. The esplanade has always been the handy spot for staying in the area. You are so lucky to have such wonderful staff working at your hotel. I would definitely recommend this hotel for a weekend getaway as well as a good venue for a conference.
J. P.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stop over, the staff was very polite and professional. The room and was fantastic, very clean and well presented. We didn't have food in the hotel but it looked and smelled amazing. Overall very good and will definitely be stopping again in the future. Thank you
K. B.
We stayed at the Rydges Fremantle overnight on a Friday night and found it to be very pleasant and well equipped. Bed was very comfortable and the room was clean and had everything we could need. Wifi was nice and fast. We would stay here again. Only thing was the roof leaked in the restaurant while we were having breakfast!
N. T.
Popped in had a look around , attached photo's, great place for functions , and tourist stay overs , close to the heart of Fremantle Perth Western Australia , enjoyed having a beer.
From James Neil Tremain Joom and Facebook, Instagram and now Telegram

Staff are fantastic at Rydges. The main bar always provides quick service, has a great selection of beers on tap as well as spirits and has good prices. We stayed at the hotel a couple of years ago and would definitely stay again.
R. H.
The Esplanade Hotel is central to all around. The is a free shuttle bus just outside the hotel which does two different loops. The staff are helpful and pleasant. The conserige (hope spelling is correct) is really pleasant. The buffet breakfast has something for everyone. Lots of pub, cafes restaurants and takeaway close by. Has a gym pool and room safes. Valet parking $35AD per night of public car parking from $11AD for 16hrs or something like that...takes.the parking up to midnight. I have enjoyed it so far have a trip to Rottnest booked.
J. T. M.
Great place in Fremantle. Good for business meeting and to meet for a drink
T. M.
We did find the breakfast layout a bit different and perhaps staff could be a little more helpful there. The room was clean however the shower was pretty ordinary. The hotel is located a few minutes walk from the main street, and overlooks the park to the front. We'll be back.
D. P.
Good central location... Easy to walk to most places from this hotel. Buffet breakfast was good too.
T. W.
Venue nice. Staff ok. I was attending a seminar and asked for a cup of hot water from the restaurant. The head waiter(i assume? he had a suit on) was pretty curt as if the water was costing him a fortune. The coffee and snacks for the seminar were outstanding. Yum:-).
P. U.
Room was a standard room but was spacious, had a sit out veranda and room was clean. We had dinner in the Harbour Master Restaurant which was very nice and next morning had breakfast in the Atrium with a great selection offered. We swam in one of the hotel pools and had a soak in one of the spas. A very relaxing stay. Thank you.
A. P.
This hotel is in a great location, and has a great feel to it. The beds are comfortable, the aircon works well and the pool was nice and cool on a summers day. Very happy with our relaxing stay. Its not the newest hotel, but the staff were great and the hotel was clean.
S. N.
Awesome place to stay. Clean rooms, friendly staff and excellent beer. Love it.
S. C.
Beds are great and really comfort. This hotels location is great and convenient however it is tired and dated. The staff are friendly but there is a certain polish that is missing from everything. The restaurant menu is predictable and the food average so better food options lie in the many choices around the corner.
J. C.
Nice location, neat and fairly modern rooms. Nothing extravagant but very good value for money. Breakfast spread was super average, full of cheap, low quality items (canned mushrooms, canned baked beans for example) Room service menu was an improvement, although $52 for a steak that wasn't even cooked to my liking was disappointing. Overall, I still enjoyed my stay and would return.
T. M.
Excellent central location to nearby restaurants, shops and Freo markets. We have stayed at ***y a hotel in Australia and in Europe and the parking has always been complimentary for guests. We had breakfast included which was great. Safe to say i will not be recommending or revisiting this hotel.
M.
Cuban themed New Year's Eve was amazing. Had a great meal at the Harbour Master and then the Cuban vibe went off. Congratulations and thanks to the staff and the party goers for a fantastic night xx
J. V.
The rooms are comfortable but not flashy. Shower leaves water all over the floor. Breakfast is very good but the barista coffee for extra is a bit much and the coffee was nothing special. All in all great location and friendly staff but nothing to rave about
G. H.
Nice and central and handy for all things Fremantle
K. S.
We were in the older section of the hotel. The room was large and clean overlooking the dolphin pool. The balcony was so small you couldn't sit 2 people on it. We did have the buffet breakfast included which was ample.
C. K.
Very friendly, helpful staff.
Food was very average, the steak I received was tougher than the sole of a poorly made Italian leather boot and the chips had enough salt to rival that of the dead sea.
Pillows had stains on them.
But other than those things not too shabby
D. S.
Lovely old historical building, very well renovated, close walking to the Indian Ocean, shops cafes, very nice rooms, friendly helpful. 4 food venues within and along the Esplanade Hotel. Calm, tastefully luxe decor, quiet spots to sit, be there, but not feel exposed.
M. M.
Once again us country people came to town and stayed at the Esplanade Fremantle and once again we were treated to fantastic personalized service. We slept in the most comfortable hotel bed in Perth in a very spacious room. The breakfast selection was wide and very tasty. Great valet parking and a fantastic location in Fremantle. Unbelievably, it was even better this time than the last time we stayed. Once again, we will be informing all of our friends and relatives what a great hotel it is and we look forward to our next visit. Congratulations to all staff and management at the Esplanade for making our experience so wonderful.
D. A.
We celebrated our wedding anniversary here on the weekend and were absolutley delighted with this hotel. The staff were amazing especially Dasni and showed by their actions that they genuinely cared about us. The room was spacious with bath & separate shower! the king bed was very comfortable as were the abundance of pillows.
Breakfast was superb and plenty, though we did need to ask for soymilk as wasn't availble at the servery. Top location, Loved the easy short walk access to the park, beach, and restaurants in all directions.
C. H.
Lovely room, nice ambience in the public areas and super friendly helpful staff
D. M.
Great place to stay. Great people and venue. Very hard to fault.
Will be back again.

We can not thank Teena and the team at the Esplanade for making our wedding a dream come true.
From day one, we have been looked after and communicated with - despite my sometimes silly emails. On the day, Teena was a superstar - from setting up to bringing us the bridal emergency box full of band aids! She kept myself and Hubby stress free. She coordinated a huge team of suppliers effortlessly and without hiccup. You are invaluable!
The heritage rooms are just so beautiful and we couldn't have imagined saying 'I Do' anywhere else. Fremantle is where our love blossomed and now the Esplanade belongs in our hearts as the place I got to marry our most favourite person in the whole world.
The food was sublime! Everything cooked to perfection and generous servings. Some of our guests commented that it was the best wedding food they've ever had. Even some of our fussier eaters ate everything on their plates. Even the vendor platter was delicious!
Choice of beer and wine was great - very flexible with making any changes to our beverage lists. Again, our wine connoisseurs were kept very happy with the drops.
Accommodation for the wedding weekend was amazing. The bridal suite is luxurious and comfortable. A great place for the bridal party to chill altogether with a few drinks before heading down to the reception. Might just need to have the shower door repaired as it doesn't seal and water gets out - my wedding gown got a little wet while using the bathroom.
Overall, amazing wedding weekend that I will remember forever!
T. W.
Excellent hotel. The room was a well appointed Jacuzzi suite. Didn't have to much time in the room. Greencastle is a lovely, quiet area side community. Escape the hustle and bustle of Perth. Minutes away from little creatures brewery. Would stay again.
E. H.
I have hosted 2 Senior school balls in the Southern Cross Ballroom and the level of professionalism, willingness and kindness from the staff has been exceptional. Excellent food and facilities, fantastic location and staff go out of their way to make sure your evening flows smoothly.
K. F.
Was at the Esplanade for drinks with the family. Service was very good, friendly staff abd atmosphere. The building is situated in the heart of Fremantle abd easy to get to other attractions. I didn't try the food but I hear it's decent. Good for a nice weekend afternoon.
M. H.
Wonderful place for lunch or dinner, or even just to stop off and have a nice drink.
Staff have always been wonderful when we have been there.
We have never stayed there do I can't comment on the accommodation.

Attended an awards night in one of the function rooms. Was a fantastic upscale room with amazing graphics rolling all night. 5 star food cooked by some of the best chefs in WA. All local produce. The amenities were very nice.

Just returned home from a 2 night stay at the Esplanade and we were very impressed with friendly staff who could not do enough for us. Breakfast was most enjoyable with a wide selection. Room and bed was comfortable and we would like to give a special mention to Stu McGregor in the Marina Lounge who was very helpful and went out of his way to make our stay enjoyable.
Thank you John & Susan Munro

Great location, friendly and helpful staff 😁

Had a great experience here with my partner for his 21st, great room and lovely staff

We took bus No 380 from Perth Airport Terminal 1 to reach Elizabeth Quay Bus Station. Then we took bus No 160 at platform C2 and reached Frementle Bus Station. From there, the free blue CAT bus sent us to the hotel. We enjoyed our stays for three days in the hotel although it is quite dated but well maintained. Our room has a balcony that we can always dine in the breeze. There are two spa pools beside the swimming pool.. We are so disappointed that sauna rooms are shut and malfunctioned.

Wonderful staff, nice rooms although had a super uncomfortable sleep. All 6 pillows in the room were too high and solid. After rotating through all 6 during a horrible sleep I gave up and woke with an extremely sore neck. A variation of pillows in future would be nice.

Perthfect place for a WAnderful staycation!!

Great event venue, awesome day

Nice hotel though a little dated but so close to everything that Freo has to offer

Very comfortable
Would have liked a better window view

Staff are friendly and extremely helpful. Had lunch at The Atrium Garden restaurant. The buffet was excellent. Extensive choices, something for all tastes. Great value for money. Will definitely return.

Once again us country people came to town and stayed at the Esplanade Fremantle and once again we were treated to fantastic personalized service. We slept in the most comfortable hotel bed in Perth in a very spacious room. The breakfast …

I've stayed here quite a few times and the location is great, however this time will be our last. We've stayed in quite a nice room, that had a separate lounge however, as soon as a neighbouring room has a shower or bath, the sound of the water coming through is so loud and the neighbour having the spa bath on feels like the room next door is doing construction work with Jack hammers. Not only that, when that finally ended after an hour, you get left with the loud music from downstairs in the function room. Thank goodness we were on the third floor, I feel sorry for the people on the second floor. The music got switched off at midnight Perth time but that's 3am Sydney time and by then you are very over it. They need better sound proofing all around. If you're dead tired or had a few drinks, it probably won't bother you much, but my partner and I were beyond over it.
D. R.
Comfy bed, great pressure in shower, service very friendly, breaky amazing. Only lost 1 star as all balconies on 4th floor have no awnings so extremly hot sitting outside having a cool drink.
J. D.
Delightful staff, accommodating and generous. Modern, clean, quiet rooms. Everything worked AOK
L. S.
Excellent service, everyone we encountered, I feel, went above and beyond to help and make our visit special.
Although the hotel is older, it has a lovely clean charm.
The area it's in is fantastic for exploring Fremantle.
I will certainly return and recommend the hotel.

We are staying here as I text, I have found this to be one of the worst stays at any hotel possible. Firstly, I wanted to order pizza and they told me to do that I had to download an app. I came to further know this isnt true, I asked the concierge about excursions and he was polite enough but I had to ask him if you could hire a private driver he looked at me stunned said its quite expensive but yes I guess you could call this person it took a full 15 minutes to get this out of him. The rooms are hot, meals very expensive. I went to thier bar and for two beer it was 25.00 thats high for anybodies standards. Pool was filthy which was very surprizing. I felt like I was being treated by inexperienced staff at all times and overall experience has just been bad especially for Christmas and being in a high end tourist area. I had complained to the desk clerk who said she would mention this to the manager and I have heard nothing in rsturn which is bad business.

Quaint old hotel. The rooms facing the pool have a nice cost balcony. Rooms are a bit old but the ones facing the pool seems to be a bit better. Professional and friendly staff. Close to many restaurants and way to walk around.

Excellent. Quick check in and fantastic assistance with parking in a Covid Climate. Rooms clean and modern. King spa room was excellent.

Very expensive but a great location!
We stayed on the 5th floor, room was HUGE!
We had a lovely sofa, massive TV (as it was far from the bed- so big enough to watch and see clearly from the bed), massive comfortable bed. The mattress was firm but soft. Did not like the duvet- they sort of wrapped it in sheets rather than having a duvet cover?!? It was weird and a bit uncomfortable as the sheets got tangled up during the night and when it’s dark and you’re tired, you sort of don’t want to be fumbling around to find the duvet to cover you from the cold in early spring?!
We had a huge bathroom, his and hers sinks, lovely spacious shower with good water pressure and temperature control. We also had a spa/jacuzzi bath tub. It was lovely to be able to relax in. Not huge though. Luckily i’m a bt of a titch because my husband is over 6ft and we sort of just fit. Something to think about it you’re both tall, especially if you’re paying to upgrade for the fact it has a spa in the room like we did. Massive (for the room) balcony but with a disappointing view :(
Curtains were brilliant- proper black or ones so got a great nights sleep. Complimentary tea and coffee but had to pay for a bottle of water which was disappointing for the price we paid for the room.
Overall, a good stay.
Be mindful there is no parking unless you’re up for paying $35 a night for valet parking. There are lots of roads that are between 1-3 hours parking with a pay machine and free on Sundays or after 5pm. But you have to move by 8am in the morning.
Plenty of free parking south of the hotel, about an 8-minute walk. Esplanade does have a drop-off and pick up space where they allowed us to both drop-off, check in and take our bags up to the room before returning to the car to park it; same for check out. Friendly staff and hotel kept very clean and tidy. Didn’t eat there- went to Duck Duck Bruce for breakfast- check out my review on that as it’s definitely worth a visit!

Concierge + reception are friendly informative and totally helpful + never too far away. Breakfast is the best with EVERYTHING on offer and my room perfect. Cleaning + room service fantastic - The Esplanade is 100% for me.

King Premier room balcony view was a skate park and toilet block. Unable to get my credit card to work on the machine in reception so had to walk up the street to an ATM to pay with cash. Spa had pubic hairs in it. Cleaner just rinsed the spa to flush the pubic hairs but did not fully clean the spa.
M. F.
They need to tell people that the front doors drive way is not a car park drop off onlyThe outside needs attention good service nice food happy workers breaky bacon over cooked they need to work on that and that was 4 morning in a row

I had lunch at the Esplanade hotel. They claim that their Steak Sandwich is one of the best in WA, so of course I had to try it! It was delicious and absolutely lived up to it's reputation. The wagyu steak just melted in my mouth and was not tough.
The staff were very professional and friendly, the environment is nice and relaxed and I really enjoyed my lunch. I will be returning again.
B. S.
Staff were friendly, loved our room, specially the spa bath.. the bar staff were so kind and brought me a glass of champagne for my birthday drinks with friends. Food was delicious. Will definitely stay here again.
R. B.
The bar staff and buffet staff went above and beyond in service. From heating up our babies food and supplying a bowl for it at no charge to cleaning up after a child that had an unexpected vomit. They really helped out and made the night great!

Ive attended two events here, one for university and most recently the chocolate market event, both were in the same function room and I loved the space, atmospheres. The only problem I had on both visits were with parking, with popular events like the chocolate market, it took ages to find one. Other than that its been lovely here.

This hotel is located in a strategic location of Fremantle. Had dinner there but the food was quite tasteless, bland and without fanfare. So if you like tasteless and bland food you've come to the right place.
M.
Very comfortable hotel with spacious room and lovely balcony outlook.
M. P.
Attended for a conference, and have previously attended and organised a ball at this venue. Both times the experience has been great, with lovely food, attentive staff and a great space. Competitive price-wise as well compared to similar large function venues. My main complaint is around the location and lack of affordable parking, which is compounded by the infrequent public transport/long walks from more frequent routes.
T. M.
My partner and I often stay at Esplanade Hotel Fre***tle and have had a wonderful time on all occasions. Balcony was furnished and great. The room I had booked was a Pool View room on recommendation and it definitely had a view of the poolas well as the multi story opposite.

Every time I been to Fremantle I have stayed in this hotel . Very quiet place in the heart of the city I would say . After a tight sleep overnight you can just walk out of the hotel and you will end up with plenty of restaurants and pubs . You have no scarcity for food and drinks and good crowd here in Fremantle. If you would like to have just a walk around this is the place and when you get thirsty after a good walk you can stop and hit the pub right next to you . Well my favourite is obviously “Little creatures “ which is famous for its wooden oven fired pizzas and locally brewed beers .
D. G.
Clean, well appointed room in a beautifully presented hotel. Didnt eat there this time as wanted to experuence small local eateries; however have in the past & found the buffet extensive & delicious. Great location...love Fremantle!

Nice spacious plenty of windows looking on the street see the sights nice

Amazing venue, staff and food! I recently DJ'd a wedding here and all staff from event coordinator, to night manager to wait staff were incredibly invested in it being a good night for not only the guests, but the vendors too! Well done Esplanade, cant wait to come back! Jim from AnyTime DJ :)

The staff are amazing. The room was very very clean. I found the bed very comfy.
Good price for the breakfast buffet. Loved the stay and will definitely stay again.

Staff are friendly and extremely helpful. Had lunch at The Atrium Garden restaurant. The buffet was excellent. Extensive choices, something for all tastes. Great value for money. Will definitely return.

Excellent service - staff went out of their way to make sure we had a relaxing stay. Highly recommended. Great location too!
A. V. D.
Great location in the heart of Fremantle and the garden bars look great. The buffet and inside dining areas however are tired and dated. Dining next to large air-conditioning units in a vacant resteraunt is disapointing. The spread of food is adequate and deserts are nice but all minimal.
P. B.
Good and basic needs covered for the night
K. W.
Check in was good and quick!
Breakfast buffet is good - though would like cup size to be increased or additional options available (getting a mug from coffee area meets requirements however why not have the mugs available)
Room was excellent and location to cinema, food dining options, tourist attractions and work was excellent
T. H.
Fantastic location and staff are helpful and friendly. Hotel needs a bit of a facelift and this appears to be underway currently. Rooms are small but adequate. 2 separate pools allow you to pick between family friendly or more adult retreat oriented. I can't stress how fantastic the location is as it's right in the middle of all the locations in Fremantle that you might want to visit and gives you the option to stop by the hotel during your travels to drop off shopping, have a shower/change clothes if the weather is hot and not waste alot of time. Fremantle markets are 3 mins walk away along with the main cafe/restaurant strip.

I was traveling to Perth for the first time, so glad I opted for Esplanade @Fremantle.. Comfy and clean bed, food is great and they have a bar which is among the most happening place around weekend..
Highly recommend staying at Esplanade, go for Kings bed with spa.

Rooms are lovely, clean and fresh. Breakfast was awesome.
Will definitely stay again

Great hotel with everything you need. Location is perfect. Staff are very friendly and nothings to much trouble. Pool and Spa are very nice. I would recommend highly.

Lovely old building....definitely worth having a beer in there....even if your not staying there. Photo taken in 2002.

Great ,Friendly ,clean rooms fantastic location for walking around Freo :)
W. H.
Expensive but nice rooms with balconies
M. M.
Not sure why we love this hotel. The decor inside is not the greatest - really in need of a big makeover, the rooms likewise. It's probaby the location that is key - right on the Esplanade park. It's in the heart of Fremantle and in many ways plays it's part in making Fremantle the wonderful place it is.
T. M.
Centrally located for sightseeing and access to markets, museums etc. Our room was upgraded on our our arrival which was a pleasant surprise and appreciated. At the time we thought it was very expensive compared to Rydges in New Zealand. Staff on the front desk and concierge wrere friendly.
D. G.
I think the changes you have made since taking over the Esplanade are great especially the reception area, it no longer looks dated and is a lot more modern. The Ball and chain is a great pub and nice to see it open once again. Our whole experience was great. Hope to be back soon
M. G.
Would have given it 5 stars but most hotels give bottled water for free these days but this one charges.
J. S.
The tale of two locations. A great one being close to all Fremantle had to offer, the other being awful being penned in by a multi storey car park. Good facilities , relatively straight forward check in, room decent. Open the balcony door and you are faced with a hideous car park basically overlooking your room. Probably the worst I've ever seen... If you aren't spending time in your room then it's fine. Just don't look out of the balcony window.
C. M.
Great location in the heart of Fremantle
Great accommodation food and bar. Also it has a laundry for the guess of the hotel. Being a Ryders Hotel it also has a good rewards program. Food was 20% off
C. G.
We have just enjoyed a stay cation here in Freo.. Our room was comfortable, modern & clean..
We enjoyed the selection at breakfast and the pool area...
We will be back! Thank you 😊
T. Y.
As a conference location the rooms were well laid out, though the sound system and microphones could have been a lot clearer and consistent. Food was nicely presented and at staff polite and helpful.
T. M.
Stayed again July 2016 and could not fault anything. We were after a particular port and it did take some 15 minutes to produce the port we were after. We were visiting Australia to follow the Ashes tour and decided to have a break near the sea between the Perth and Melbourne test. Restaurant for breakfast was excellent.
M. N.
Check in information is insufficient - no breakfast time and venue given, no wifi details provided, no porter/staff to help with luggage.
Room smells musty.
Buffet Breakfast can be improved.
The only person I meet that was truly nice was the cleaner of the room.
D. M.
10/10. Saved us late at night when we checked out of a nightmare airbnb. 24h reception very helpful and accommodation was comfortable! Great location too.

Lovely rooms and breakfast. Pleasant staff. Great location.

Very nice location. Professional staff. Comfy bed and lovely rooms. Breakfast is really rich and good.

Staff were very friendly an very helpful. Room was clean but air conditioning just wasnt warm enough. Other then that we enjoyed our stay.
L. W.
Amazing location, food options, breakfast and pool area. The only let down is that the rooms are very old and outdated & there were no robes or slippers! Otherwise a fantastic experience and I would stay again depending on the price.
D. H.
Lovely old hotel in a prime position in the middle of Fremantle. Staff are very friendly. Enjoyed our stay here
C. M.
The staff were friendly and helpful.
The room was great and the bed was massive.
Pool and bars were great and resturant was second to none.
We have already told others that they need to get away for a weekend and stay at the Esplanade Hotel in Fremantle.
T. M.
We needed to come for a quick trip to Perth and decided to stay at our favourite hotel, we were once again so impressed. Thanks to the staff at the esplanade hotel. We actually came back at the end of our trip because the steak sandwich was so memorable.
J. G.
Very enjoyable stay, good service, lovely staff, clean room, well appointed - definitely recommend!
P. M.
Nice hotel comfortable and clean and in a great location with very friendly staff. On one day I went to use the pool area to be told it was closed to guests for a private function which is a joke considering the price I paid for the hotel obviously Includes use of the pool and bathing area ruined my experience of the hotel
f.
My bed super comfy important when you're only there to sleep! Great pillows :)
Staff are friendly and make sure you are well attended to.
V. M.
The buffet breakfast and dinner was great and the margaritas were delicious
It was great to use the guest laundry $6 a load and all our washing for a week done the dryer worked well and cost $6
J. S.
An excellent place to stay in Fremantle. Surrounded by things to do, places to eat, and close to the ocean. Rooms are big and comfortable, and the free wi-fi is pretty good too. They even have a good green option for keeping your environmental impact low, for which they give you money off your breakfast bill. Will absolutely stay here again!
L. P.
Service and atmosphere wonderful. Room inexpensive yet luxurious. Food well cooked and presented. A great experience.
M. A.
Excellent and friendly service! The hotel itself is located in a wonderful part of town. The staff were all very friendly and had some great knowledge of places to visit during our stay.

Well feels a little dated. We were in a King room . Bed was comfy and big room. Stayed in a lot of hotels . Doesn't really have any magic for the price. Had breakfast and that was good.
N. J.
Rooms were nice, could have been a bit cleaner and updated. Staff were really lovley but you have to pay $25 a day for parking which isn't included in your stay. Overall I think it was a bit over priced.
B.
Very nice hotel to stay. View, service, room and food are superb and very close to the Fremantle beach that having many good seafood restaurant.
The hotel is very close to market and museum.
Worthed to stay in the most southern part of the earth.
