The Rose and Crown in Guildford is a great historic pub dating back to 1841. Eating out in the beer garden is a unique experience, especially after 5/6 days of 40 degrees. The cool breeze blowing last night was refressing. Four of us dined here last night and enjoyed each other's company, and the meals we had chosen. The Rose and Crown is a great place casual eating or celebrating a special function. Enjoy you visit to this iconic pub.

Everyone in our group enjoyed their food. The service felt genuine and friendly. The steak did not disappoint. The gnocchi could have done with a bit of butter. A nostalgic feel to the place and a great leafy location with lots of charm.

Food is expensive, but really good and huge portions. Staff are awesome. They get ten stars. It's super hot in the beer garden though. A few big Bunnings fans and better shade would be fantastic.

Lovely meal with a fantastic service by a waitress called 'Tanya'. A small detail that felt a bit odd: I asked for directions to the changing facilities for my little boy and I was led by the waitress to the lady’s toilet... she then needed to stand outside to warn any females that may enter that a man was in there... We hired the Rose and Crown for our wedding reception and we were absolutely blown away. The space was idyllic and felt so private, the food was exceptional and the staff were so, so lovely - we could not be more grateful to them. Emma the events manager was just fantastic and could not have been more accommodating- we can’t thank her, and the rest of the staff enough for all of their hard work and for making our special day so memorable and stress free. Our only wish was that we could do it all over again! If you’re looking for a reception venue this is one of a kind, you’ll be exceptionally looked after in a beautiful historic location.

We went for a family dinner and the staff , food and venue were fantastic. We had a few requests and the staff handled them so well. The aircon in the dining room was amazing and all the food was delicious, especially the steak and Guinness pie. Will be back !

Great friendly service. With a baby it's sometimes difficult to find a great restaurant that's also relaxed. Rose & Crown was great on Sunday night for our first visit, friendly efficient staff who were very welcoming. High chairs for the young ones were available. The food was great and it was served quickly, both of us loved our meals. Dessert was equally great. The pub itself is beautiful and has a great relaxed atmosphere, highly recommended.

Great food and fantastic service using the QR ordering from the table. It’s the perfect place to go to for a late lunch on a hot day - the misting spray is brilliant! Food and drink served within 15minutes after ordering - and the place was busy. The duck liver parfait is absolutely divine. The cosmopolitan was perfectly made and served nice and chilled.

Our Bookclub group met there for end of year dinner! We sat outside, lovely night! The menu is plentiful, the service excellent, and the food amazing, and well presented, I had the Barramundi! The sweets menu is extensive and mouthwatering! I definitely recommend to eat there, and I will certainly go back! This restaurant has loads of tables outside!!!

Guildford is a town with lots of character and is the gateway to the Swan Valley's wineries. The popular Rose & Crown is a great spot to soak up all that the region has to offer. The air-conditioned motel units at the Rose & Crown are clean (although we had a dead blowfly and maggots on our bathroom windowsill). and contemporary but the bathroom of our unit was very small.

We had a staff lunch at the R&C on Wednesday 1st December and the staff in the garden restaurant were very accommodating for our larger group. I had the lunch special, gnocchi as a vegan option and MY GOODNESS - it was incredible. The vegetables had been cooked perfectly and were very complimentary together. The gnocchi was the perfect size, cooked beautifully and I really haven't stopped raving about it since. Thank you so much for having a standout vegan option on your menu - you put others in Perth who don't even try to shame! The rest of the group had a range from the menu and all had wonderful things to say about their food - the frittata looked stunning, the brisket looked juicy and rich with flavour and the virgin mojito super refreshing in the sunshine. Thanks Rose and Crown for a lovely experience

Had a lunch at the Posh Convict yesterday. Used the order from the table code (which we though was a 'posh' idea). Got a text and email almost immediately, certainly had my money taken immediately but no food. 45 minutes later and after many enquiries, it arrived... so disappointing that the table next to us got there food before us and they arrived 20mins or so after us. Attention to detail lacked yesterday and impacted the service and overall experience hugely!!! Let's blame this one on COVID too ... 😒

The food was magnificent and the service excellent despite staff shortages due to Covid19 etc !! The owners pitched in to ensure customers were looked after which says it all. The staff that attended to our needs were both cheerful and friendly. The Rose and Crown itself is a wonderful historic building and don't forget to see the basement bar, underground tunnel entrance and water well.

The setting is lovely, really nice old pub, very well presented, only issue was the food, my wife had the chicken ceasar salad, which was pretty much lettuce and little else and the pork nibbles were swimming in oil, fish was great and the pizza was tasty, otherwise they would have got 5 stars. With the big open beer garden and fire pit, with live music it's a great setting will definitely be going back.

We have been twice in a week. The food is absolutely amazing… today the chef accidentally binned my leftovers and instead of letting me go without, he made me a fresh full meal to take home. To be honest our dinner experience was fantastic, I wouldn’t have cared if they accidentally chucked my leftovers. But they promptly made me a new one, and by the time i finished my wine they had replaced my leftovers with a fresh meal. No questions asked! The staff are absolutely gorgeous too. I have been here on more than one occasion. The garden at the rear is a great place to enjoy something to eat and drink. In winter the fire pit is a great place to socialise. Staff are generally friendly and helpful. If you want to stay over there are rooms available. The bar and bistro at the front of the hotel are also great places to meet with friends.

My husband, son and his partner & I went for dinner last Sunday night...all ordered different dishes and all commented on how perfect the food looked and tasted. Went for my Dad's birthday lunch. Gave us a choice to wait a bit longer for a better table. We stood (and sat on a few bar stools) and waited with a few drinks, till our better table was ready and had a lovely lunch. Everything was delicious, and service was quite quick despite how busy it was on a sunny day. 2 or 3 more interesting local beers in on tap would really lift it to another level as a beer drinkers destination. Food is probably the best pub food in Perth. The smoked Parmi was ordered by 3 people on the table, everyone was very impressed with their take on such a sacred dish. Premium prices but premium execution. I had the Beef and Guinness Pie and some Parfait/pate. Both delicious. Photo of the pie. Surprisingly filling. Crispy sweet potato shards on top was a nice touch. Pastry was Short and crumbly. I can never have to much gravy. Mash was creamy and thick but not gelatinous. Oh and they served our a cake we brought with plates candles etc. Well done to everyone. Reminded me how good this venue is, just down the road. 👏

Had a 40th here. One area was reserved for our group. The food was very very good, especially the Guiness pies, and there was so much that the hosts took home a lot. The only negative was lack of music. The live music finished around 8.30pm and then there was nothing else which was disappointing. But over all a good time

Shared a lovely dinner at the Rose and Crown with my husband over a mid-week Swan Valley getaway. We both enjoyed the beef cheeks mains. Cooked to perfection and so tender. Love both dining rooms each with their own quaint attributes but the fireplaces were so welcome on a cold Winter night. Just a quick suggestion to the bartender try adding a cinnamon stick to the mulled wine. Thanks for a great evening.

We stayed the night and absolutely loved it. Accommodation was wonderful and clean. The hotel is beautiful with a lovely atmosphere and friendly staff. I really enjoyed the food and there is also good range of drinks too. Usually there is a fire pit ablaze but the rain unfortunately stopped the fire, but there is more than enough undercover area to accommodate us all. Thanks Rose and Crown, we will definitely be back

I have tried many a parmi, but this here is the only one in Perth I keep coming back for more, 5 hour slow cooked smoked chicken parmi with dirty potatoes! You will not regret this. It’s a lovely venue and love the garden area for drinks and nibbles on summer nights, but the last 3 visits over 4 months have been disappointing, meal wise. Each time, the steak has been dry, and this last visit, for all 4 of us, meals and coffees barely warm. For the price, the serves were small. The main dining/bar area was not open, so we were in the room with floor boards. Due to the acoustics of that particular room, it was difficult to hold a comfortable conversation and all agreed that we would not dine there again if that is the only indoor restaurant available. The staff were friendly.

The food could be better, especially the Cauliflower Tacos (so disappointing). The dirty potatoes were rather good, as were the Salt & Pepper Squid (recommended, but could do with more pepper). Stayed overnight at the lodge and had dinner in the 1841 restaurant. The room was modern, very clean and comfortable. The food, atmosphere and service at the 1841 was excellent. I’ve dropped into on this very cool looking and inviting pub & put simply it’s pretty damn good…….. I’ve had the privilege of watching 2 solo music acts now and both were awesome entertainers, it so relaxing sitting by the huge fire pit with a cold beer chilling out to sounds of happy punters laughing with great tunes belting out. I think the beer garden is one of the best I’ve visited in Australia. On Sunday I decided to stop for a light lunch and this did not disappoint either, Salt-N-Pepa squid was fresh hot and delicious but I do agree with one other reviewer the dish could use a little more pepper. The staff are absolutely efficient and friendly clearly taking pride in their pub and their work.

What a surprising find! Such a large space, plenty of shade, and the food was excellent - the chicken parmigiana was HUGE and delicous (one of the best we've ever had), the fish n chips and calamari bites were fresh and generous. We will be back!

Hi all, “Rose & Crown Hotel” what a really lovely place! Customer service is spot on during the check-in process, service with a smile and a pleasant attitude which makes you feel welcome that your there. Value for money, it’s absolutely there. The rooms are very comfortable and provide excellent value for money. We booked just a 3.5* Deluxe Motel Room, but it was really clean, neat, tidy and spacious. Cool when it was hot during the day, and warm when it was night time and the cold set in a little… The bar facilities there are also really nice, pricing is fairly standard with some drink specials, bar food was good. In summary, I would definitely recommend the “Rose & Crown Hotel” for short stays and I would definitely return there again. Took our mums and other family members here for Mothers Day lunch. One mum and one of the others had a salmon and cos lettuce dish which they said was very disappointing as it was mostly cos lettuce and minimal ribbons of salmon. I note this dish is not on your current menu. The Yorkshire puddings with the Roast were overcooked. Drink service was non existent. Drinks were bought at the bar. Previous visit here for lunch was awesome so I really expected the same level of service and quality of food 😒

Outstanding venue and high quality fare that will leave you planning your next visit. The resident chef takes pride in the food that comes out of his kitchen. The wagyu burger (easily best in WA) on their fantastic 'in house' keto roll is highly recommended, they will even substitute a salad instead of chips for those cutting out carbs. As an aside, it is run by the same expert team from The Mahogany Inn.

I generally like The Rose and Crown. Unfortunately the most recent experience here was a bartender who, after my father was given a serve for going to the bar, unaware during COVID that there was no bar service. The bartender could have been more polite and helpful. Unfortunately things deteriorated when the bartender left his post to come and give us both a serve for supposedly calling him something derogatory. This did not happen. Whilst this experience isn't likely to stop us coming back, it is disappointing that customer facing staff show a lack of customer service skills.

Good atmosphere, can't believe I hadn't heard of this place earlier. Really hard to find parking within 3 blocks, service was flat out running around all the tables jammed in there. We ordered drinks and entree, the entree was finished before we got our drinks and each time after that when they were ordederd we could have had an extra drink during the wait. I had the 400gram fillet medium rare (closer to blue which is fine for me) with salad and chips. The chips are a bit closer to roast potato planks, the salad packed all additions other than rocket lettuce. I think I caught them on a bad night as the place can't be that packed with my style experience.

Went to the Rose and Crown tonight for a few birthday drinks and a meal and the specials that were ordered that arrive an hour after the other meals were finished. No apology offered and no care taken. Specials signs were removed after asking where the meal was with no explanation into what was happening. Working in hospitality I understand what is happening with the industry at the moment but not on for locals supporting local business and no care given into paying customers orders. More care needs to be taken to look after locals. Thank you for staying open during these trying times. Luckily everyone enjoyed themselves and the garden bar is great. Just a shame.

This pub has it all. Intimate dining, casual shady alfresco area, family friendly, bars to sit at, historical cellar to explore and/or book as function room. My meal was amazing. A cosy restaurant to visit on a cold, wet day with fire places strategically placed. Book early to secure a table close to a fire but make sure you let them know how many people will be attending. Had dinner there with friends in the Posh Convict Restaurant on a Monday night (after discovering that most of the other restaurants close by are closed on a Monday). It was nice to see the Restaurant so full. The food was excellent (the 3 dishes we had were Pork Belly, Pumpkin Ravioli & Tagliatelli) and of course the old hotel has great character and atmosphere. The service was also prompt and friendly. Maybe not the cheapest meal in town, but better than I could cook myself which I can't say about a lot of places these days. Only thing I wasn't fussed on was the fresh oysters, and I would definitely go again.

The down side is that the service can be very, very slow and frankly a bit graceless. We once popped in for a coffee whilst it was quiet and had to wait over forty minutes before it arrived despite repeated queries.

This is our favourite goto pub in our area. The food is always great and they have a good wine list. Service is very good and the inside restaurant with its wood fire is perfect on a cold winter night and the outdoor restaurant is awesome in summer sitting under the shady tree canopy enjoying a good white.

We really like the beer garden on a fri/sat/sun because you can get woodfired pizza. There's a nice relaxed atmosphere, often with live music and the woodfire burning (in the colder months). The drinks selection is ok, we are beer drinkers and the tap list sometimes has a couple of craft beers on which is nice. I can't speak for the restaurant side because i've only been once, but the food was really good. A little bit pricey.

The R&C is one of the nicest pubs in Guildford. It offers something for everyone, with fine dining all the way through to a pub garden with pizza as your only option! I've always found the food in the dining section to be excellent albeit a little expensive but I was actually a little dissapointed with the pizza I had recently. The Hens House was a bit boring and the flavour was average I would say. The beer selection in the garden is also far less exciting than the Guildford Hotel, but it makes up a lot of points by having a very nicely decorated beer garden which is far more relaxing than the pumping Guildford Hotel. I love coming here but I think the pizzas and the drinks might need a revamp soon.

Went to meet some friends at the weekend and there was a sign saying no dogs (at the beer garden entrance) so we went to one of the other pubs in Guildford who even gave him a treat when we arrived. Bit Ruff when every other cafe in Guildford with outdoor seating has a dog under a table at the weekend. Used to be my favourite place to get a pub lunch but unfortunately every time in the past year there’s something which is disappointing about the visit. With three other pubs and a couple of wine bars in the area there’s a lot of choice around.

Stunning historic hotel in a beautiful corner of Perth Excellent stop on the way home from the Airport, it's been lovingly restored with a variety of unique patron areas, including an underground cellar which is available for function hire, casual beer gardens with a live music area and fountains, right through to a formal dining room which is available for hire also. Great selction of drinks on tap, including Local beers, Cider and Ginger Beer. Extensive food menu, friendly staff - one of my favourite pubs. 10/10

Hotel and setting beautiful, rooms very old and basic and nowhere to plug in phones, or computers. One plug was high up on the wall by the door. Service at breakfast was very slow considering there were not many patrons at that particular time. Vegetarian options were none existent , breakfast consisted of half a tomato, toast and a mushroom. You would have thought commonsense would prevail and maybe the guest could have been given a few more pieces or maybe a fruit option. The evening meals in the restaurant were delicious and we'll presented.

Went there for my birthday with my wife and kids. I ordered a surf and turf and my two kids ordered a sirloin steak whilst my wife ordered the fish of the day. All three steaks were ordered as a blue steak. The two sirloin steaks were close to a blue I guess whilst my $55 steak was a very well done... I was very disappointed as it was an expensive meal and my birthday so I didn't want to create a ruckus by complaining and meanwhile if I had then my families meal would either be eaten by the time the "chef" had another meal prepared for me or my families meals would be stone cold. The wait staff were lovely and very attentive. The rest of the meal was very nice. However eating off a sheet of paper was a bit of a bug bearer for me aswell. Having paid the money I had I felt like I needed a little apron and a set of crayons...

Attention All Aviation Enthusiast. Come to this location if you want a fantastic drink and a good old fashioned #avnerd perve. I was sitting in their beer garden and a 787 then a 380 came straight in shooting the 21 approach. It made parts of me tingle that haven't in a while. So forget the viewing deck, they don't have a charming beer garden or fantastic food. They are definitely lacking in live music and a warm fire inside and out in winter. 100% they haven't got great gin and tonics and service with a smile. Photo hard avgeeks.

The hotel's history and it's reported hauntings make it such an interesting place to visit too. One of my favourite local pubs for sure!

One thing that we found the most frustrating in this day and age that their till facilities couldn't spilt the bill and the manager was having a hard time trying to figure out cash and eftpos payments.
