M. B.We attended a wedding at Sandalford next door and you can walk between the properties. We had upstairs loft apartment which was beautiful all the modern comforts you would need, only regret was we didn't get enough time to spend in the room. Will definitely be back.
A. T.Stayed at the colony after a work function at Mandoon. Rooms are modern, clean and comfortable. Plenty of room. The swan river view from balcony is nice. Quiet. Would have been nice to have some seating out on the lawn but I guess it may take away the privacy for those staying. Breakfast was yummy though not included in our stay. Thankyou.
P.An amazing room. We stayed for 2 nights and it did not dissappoint. TV was loaded with tons of free movies, nice bedding and bathroom. Really liked how the outside area led straight out to the beautiful surroundings. Loved it!
E. M.Spent 3 nights at The Colony for a romantic getaway to the Swan Valley with my hubby. While overall we enjoyed our experience there were a few annoyances we hope Mandoon will address.
On the positive side the location is great! Easy access to wineries and close to the quaint town of Guildford. Love having dining options "on-site" and within walking distance with the Brewery and upscale Wild Swan. The rooms are modern and fresh and the balcony overlooking the river a welcome spot for a morning cuppa.
Housekeeping caused our only issues. The room was never swept during our stay and with two days of rain the floor can get dirty. I finally spot wiped and we wore slippers inside. The water bottles and coffee pods with milk were not replenished until we called and requested it. Ironically the comp toiletries were replenished 3 times even though we didn't use them. Finally the shower leaked onto the bathroom floor...a lot. Basic drain clearance would have fixed it.
My advice is take the term "luxury" loosely, note housekeeping needs to step up and don't pay "rack" rates on the room. The grounds and staff are lovely and you'll enjoy your stay more if you temper expectations.
C. P.A cute place to stay. Walking distance from the beer garden and onsite restaurants which was great.
Parking was limited for the rooms, numbered parking would be better.
Floors were not swept between days, they got quite dusty/dirty from walking in and out.
Constant loud dripping noise from the exterior gutters, same issue with other guests on the same nights.
A. S.The rooms look lovely however there’s no sound proofing and the rooms are all jam packed next to each other. A few other things without much attention to detail, a bit disappointing given how beautiful the rest of Mandoon Estate is.

K.Room was accurate in terms of pictures seen on the website and other reviews. Clean, spacious, simple but yet modern. View from the room was peaceful and breakfast hamper was yummy. Room service food which Im assuming was from the homestead brewery tasted average. Location is convenient and close to tourist attractions within the area. Would not mind staying here again.
J. K.What a great place to get away for the weekend. The rooms are set far enough away from the winery for privacy but close enough to walk to. Modern rooms with nice fixtures and fittings. The Executive Suites give extra room to relax.
L. P.We had our wedding at the Mandoon. Unfortunately the service and staff of the Colony do not match that of the Mandoon.
Right from the word go, our dealings with staff was difficult Due to language barrier and requests not acknowledged or put into the system.Two staff on the desk and neither know what the other is doing.. Several times we had made contact but to no avail. Booking this accommodation was more stressful than the wedding! . Not accommodating at all when it comes to bridal party requests and needs. Check in time is a joke! Wedding at 4.30pm & check in was was 2pm with staff saying “we can call you if we can get you in earlier”..Naturally they got another night out of us to have the pre wedding things carried out.
Booked ‘months” in advance & couldn’t even put wedding party in same block as requested & checked on numerous times.
Staff are robotic, argued that we hadn’t paid a night Day before the wedding (We had) But no apology there.
Rooms are comfy and clean.
Paper thin walls, wedding guests kept awake till early hours by neighbours activities.
Received 5 calls on the same day to say our room was ready, three by the same staff member!!
This place needs to overhaul their staff and get them skills in personality & organisation when it come to dealing with clients.
Total contrast to the Mandoon and such a disappointment.
S. n.Beautiful place to stay, we had our wedding here and loved it, was an amazing day and night with the team looking after us the whole time 10/10 for food and service. The Colony was beautiful aswel with nice rooms and views of the river! Highly recommend having a wedding here.
