When myself and my friend Rachel arrived as nurses in Australia we felt Richard (manager) was more than helpful letting us check in at 8am as we had a lot of luggage (earlier than scheduled). Offered us loads of advice with things to do and advice on how to set up accounts for our working holiday year in Australia. Printed documents for us which we needed for our new jobs. Loads of advice and leaflets of things to do around Sydney. Hostel is very clean and tidy. Offered to clean our rooms daily if needed. Allowed us to check in earlier than scheduled. Room was big and beds were comfortable. Offered to upgrade to 2 queen size beds on occasions also. We felt so comfortable staying here and really realised how lucky we were when we wanted to try somewhere new (only two minutes up the road) and got a massive shock as it was no where near the standard of this hostel. Excellent service. Would highly recommend to anyone. Definitely a convenient area and reasonably priced rooms. Quiet at night. Will definitely be back!

a fabulous gem of a place. Richard (manager) and Lilli run a great hostel. It has everything you could need and more (fully stocked kitchen, comfy beds and clean linen, laundry machines, outdoor patio, chill out/lounge area, board games, movie room). We stayed in a few places around Bondi and this is by far our favorite. Other places were tired and quite dirt. This spot is lively, has good people and clean. Highly recommend.

Quite easily the best hostel I’ve had the pleasure of staying at. It’s run very professionally, Richard and Lilli are friendly, engaging and will spare no expense in making you feel at home. Having stayed here for 3 weeks and had only positive experiences, I feel very sad to leave this place behind. The hostel is a bit smaller than most you’ll come across but it’s perfect for someone travelling and looking to meet new people as unless you’re sitting in your room all day, you’re going to strike up conversations with other guests. The location is perfect. Being located just off the main drag along Bondi beach you don’t really notice the constant traffic. And the best part is you can be on the beach within 2 minutes of leaving the front gate. Overall, it’s a top place and I’ll be sure to make an effort to return next time I find myself in this neck of the woods.

Easily the best hostel In Bondi! We stayed for one week & had a whole room to ourselves. Amazing value for money, clean, back area is so beautiful and welcoming & the staff went above and beyond to make us feel welcomed! If you are considering visiting Bondi - stay here! We heard of others who tried other hostels & came back here after one night because no others are up to this standard! Great central location, 2 minute walk to the beach! Will definitely be back!

I really love the location of this backpackers, just right in front of the bondi beach. You just swim and walk to your room and take a shower. All the staff was so kind and they explained everything in details. Room was neat and clean. I’ve extended my stay here. Had an absolutely wonderful stay here. Less than 5 minutes from Bondi Beach, plenty of restaurants/cafes etc around, rooms were clean with aircon + fans and beds were super comfy. The owner was so helpful and made check-in/check-out so easy. 5 stars, would definitely stay here again!

The location is excellent, just 1 minute walk and you're at the famous Bondi Beach. Guests can use range of stuff from beach related activity such as surfing board, beach umbrella and many more to bbq. Staff was polite and always ready to help. A bunch of us went back to the Backpacker’s Hostel in Bondi Beach to have some lunch with friends who were staying there. The owner dropped in on us to get our details and was delightfully warm and genuinely interested in the story of our friend’s son, who had just completed a 6 month walk across Australia. This hostel has a lovely relaxed feel to it. The location is brilliant, being so close to the beautiful Bondi Beach. I recommend it.

Awesome location in the main street of Bondi across from the beach. Clean, spacious dorm rooms with large kitchen, courtyard and common hang out areas. Surfboards to borrow, board games, laundromat, etc all in a very central hostel.

Unreal location, immaculately clean, great vibes and so many free services. Discounts on local food, free skateboards and surfboards, gym equipment and you don't even have to do your own dishes. Loved my stay here and can't recommend enough.

Bondi Beach Backpackers is a good, reasonably priced place to stay in Bondi Beach. The location is great, just a half a block from the beach. There are lots of restaurants within walking distance and it's right next door to the post office. ⁣ Richard, the manager, was super helpful and went above and beyond the call of duty when something of mine went missing. Because of all the CCTVs around the place he was able to determine that I was the culprit!! It turned out that I had the missing item with me when I walked by one of the cameras! I had absentmindedly carried it with me instead of leaving it on my bike like I usually do! 😝 ⁣ Lily, the live-in, assistant manager, was very accommodating and helpful as well. She brings a colorful and cheerful presence to the place and is almost always available to help out with minor or major needs. ⁣ I stayed in Room 6 for a couple of months. There was a bedside table on either side of the bed with a lamp on each. There was a dresser where I was able to put most of my clothes away and there was an extra bunk bed where I spread out the rest of my stuff. I found the mission style bed to be quite comfortable and it matched nicely with the side tables and dresser. ⁣ In the main lounge area, just off the kitchen, there are a couple of big tables with lots of different games. I particularly enjoyed the two chess boards, even though I lost more than I won! There are lots of other games as well and a place for charging one's mobile device. The kitchen has plenty of space for storing one's food, both in and out of the fridge. Richard was good enough to get some extra mixing bowls when I mentioned that there was a need for some! An unexpected amenity was that we weren't required to clean our plates and bowls and silverware, just our pots and pans! ⁣ There was lots of space outside in a protected courtyard and I was able to safely store my bike there. The bike parking was only partially covered so I got a rain cover to protect it fully from the rain. One of the guests found some used exercise equipment so it's possible to get a bit of a workout if you so desire. Once a month, or so, there is a pot-luck meal and there is a gas range outside to cook your food. That's really nice, particularly when the weather is good. ⁣ All in all, Bondi Beach Backpackers was a comfortable, friendly place that I recommend.

I stay at Bondi Backpackers whenever I'm Sydney. It's in a great location next to the beach, and Lily and Rich always make sure I'm looked after and my stay is comfortable. The hostel is well maintained and I love sitting in the outdoor back area first thing in the morning. Would definitely recommend this hostel for a brief or extended stay.

Perfect location just 2-3 minute walk to the beach. Room were clean and spacious. Outdoor area, kitchen, media room and eating area all clean and great places meet others and socialise. Myself and 3 children (19, 17 and 12) stayed for 1 night at the end of a long week. So much we could have taken advantage of like use of: free surf gear, skateboards, locals specials, table tennis, chess, so.much more. We checked out at 10 but were able to store our bags and use facilities til 1. Best of all really was no noise after 10. Richard and his staff are super friendly and helpful.

Me and my girlfriend stayed here for 10 nights, as soon as we arrived we had a friendly welcome by the owner Richard, Richard was very helpful throughout our whole stay giving us recommendations for bars/restaurants and everything in-between. We have actually stayed in a few hostels around the bondi area and this one is definitely the one with the best rooms, 100% the most spacious room we've had and then the bed, oh the bed, the best 10 nights sleep I've had in a while! So yes overall I would say if you're planning on staying in a hostel around the Bondi area then look no further!

Best hostel in Bondi. I mean it when I say it (I’ve tried them all haha). Beautiful, clean, comfortable rooms, great kitchen and eating area, all super organised. Enormous backyard with seatings. Incredible amenities from surf boards and surf suits to skateboards and fishing gear all free to use!!! The list continues, but if I have to say the best thing, that would be the lovely staff who work there, very kind and helpful. If staying in Bondi, this is the place.

The hostel is very clean and cozy. The common areas are huge, very spacious and well taken care of. There's a big terrace and BBQ area, kitchen is clean and the housekeeping staff members wash your dishes! Staff members are very kind and friendly, they serve free nachos at 6.30pm! They also have free surfboards and other material to lend to guests. 100% recommended.

Then we wanted to extend for another night and online the price was lower than they charged us direct at reception, so be careful how much they charge you at reception.. online will be cheaper. Facilities are good, rooms, kitchen and toilets are in good condition and cleaned daily, free surfboard hire. Nice people that work there they will look after their guests.

Stay was nice and comfortable. The owner seemed to greet every guest with warm hearted hospitality and personally. The hostel is clean and neet. Because of the coronavirus they had reduced working hours and it was a bit of hassle to checked in but nothing major. It was overcomed with the friendly and proffesional staff. Really nice outdoor areas. And the hostel seemed to provide a lot of free stuff for the guest like surf boards etc. Good value.

Rich and his team especially lilly are some of the nicest people I've had the pleasure to deal with at a backpackers always welcoming and courteous. The backpackers is one of the cleanest backpackers that I have had the pleasure of staying at the amenities are exactly what you would want at a backpackers with nice clean showers snack machines a TV room with comfy chairs either to watch TV or read washing machines spacious fridges so you don't have to worry where you are going to put your food a nice kitchen bbq out back and a smoking annex for those of us like myself who are smokers board games including chess to socialise with other backpackers/ follow travellers of this world and a ping pong table as well as information on Sydney and surrounds at the front desk pointing out some places of interest I recommend the bomdi to cogee walk and a couple hours at icebergs. And free computers for internet access.

I originally booked in 1 night at this hostel and quickly booked 2 more nights. The staff were extremely helpful and went way beyond what I would expect from people working in a hostel. I got help with opening a bank account, receiving a tax number and even compiling a CV. The hostel itself has a really nice atmosphere and good facilities. When I arrived for my stay, I was greeted by Richard, who very warmly welcomed me in. After a run down of the policies and rules, I jumped right into a game of ping pong then a free BBQ before grabbing a free surfboard and wetsuit to run down to the beach just a 2 minute walk from the hostel. The room booked was a standard mixed gender 12 person. This been the best money spent, as the mix was 8F to 4M, of very lovely and friendly people. The bunk beds were highly adequate and the separated community shower/bathrooms were clean. Free cereal and coffee in the morning was enough to get yourself going. When visiting Sydney and being a backpacker on Bondi, I would highly recommend this place to anyone looking for an amazing stay.

Great hostel, has everything you need as a backpacker, chill vibe, helpful staff and great location near bondi Beach. The hostel had a nice big kitchen with plenty of plates, cups, pots and pans etc and free breakfast and meals during weekdays. Nice location, very friendly staff. Free food or wine every night + they did our dishes. Nice beds. Free skate/surfboard rental. But small kitchen and only 4 toilets, didn't were a problem for us but I imagine it could be. Worst thing was it was much noise in the night.

Had a great stay at surfside, so good I kept extending my stay. It's so close to the beach and nightlife. The staff are very helpful especially if you need help setting yourself up for a working visa stay. For $3 dollars you get access to 2 free dinners, breakfast, surfboards, skates, table tennis, ect. You also get discount at so many local businesses which is ideal on a travellers budget. The other guests are really friendly so it's ideal for a solo traveller like myself.

It's a chilled place with chilled people. Rooms are quite messy but toilets are ok and showers are really good and powerful. To me it missed more plugs in the dorms and more shelves in the showers as you'll need them. There a barbecue here and a outside area plus kinda of free breakfast and free gears. For the locker you have to pay 20 dollars but they will give you back but you have to pay 3 dollars for the bedding and 50 dollars as overall deposit so 47 dollars at the end. It's a good spot but Bondi is not that lively as I thought.

I can't say enough good things about Bondi Backpackers. Informative, helpful, kind, caring, CLEAN and generous are just SOME of the many words I can use to describe Bondi Backpackers. The staff was all extremely welcoming and inviting. The guests were kind, generous, friendly and considerate. The balance between being social and "party" focused, mixed with respectful and chill was unparalleled! I was reallllly lucky, and roomed with 5 amazing ladies who became sisters by the end of our time. The kitchen is the CLEANEST and MOST ORGANIZED hostel kitchen I've ever encountered, with massive eatery spots, community areas, "chill out" spaces, and more! The movie theater was sweet on those long or rainy days, too! Location is 2 seconds from the beach grocery shops and most importantly - ICE CREAM AND Gelato, too. It's really quite perfect as you're right in the heart of Bondi. They go above and beyond with resume and CV assistance, printing services, directions, activity rentals and 3 family dinner nights per week. I've already talked about rebooking with the manager when I return from QLD! Thanks so much Bondi team, for making me feel like family and leaving a massive lasting impression! See you soon!!!

I stayed at Surfside Backpackers on Bondi beach for a week and I absolutely loved it. Its the best hostel I've ever stayed in during my year traveling in Australia and here's why: 1. Location, location, location: Located less than 5 mins away from the Iconic Bondi Beach!! Right in the heart of Bondi, you have everything at your doorstep. You have loads of restaurants and shops to chose from which means you never have to go too far for anything. 2. Clean: The hostel is very clean. The bathrooms and kitchen are obviously cleaned more than once a day and the common area is spacious and pristine. The bedrooms are big and cleaned on a daily bases so it never gets too smelly! Thank god. 3. Good Beds: Anyone who's been traveling know's how important a good nights sleep is, luckily the beds at Surfside Backpackers have good mattresses. I've stayed at hostels where I felt like I was sleeping on the bed frame thats how poor the quality of the mattress was. A good mattress makes for a comfortable and goodnights sleep. 4. Amenities: You get free surfboards, skateboards, roller-skates, etc. 5. Price: You can't beat the price! When you consider all the hostel has to offer and the price to stay per night you realize Surfside Backpackers is a bargain. 6. Vibe: Everyone is pretty chilled out and has a laid back attitude. Its pretty obvious I love this place and highly recommend it.

Love that they have signs saying if you are a dick you will get kicked out - although there was a very obvious dick disrupting everybody who kinda scared me who didn't get kicked out.
