Lovely setting amongst the hills of Nimbin. Few minutes drive to town Fabulous friendly hosts. The larger motel room was nice and comfy with a giant King sized bed (another bunk with double and single above - separated by privacy blind) The room had lovely views and a great outdoor sitting are with patio dining and couches. Adjoined to two other smaller rooms but private with good block-out curtains and shades lovely in the evening with a beautiful view ion the Nimbin green hills. Cows and horses and lovely walk to the creek. Bring your own food and breakfast. Big fridge and nice little kitchen in the big room. bungalows also available. Very quiet with only the birds the only sound you will hear. Worth staying a couple of days or more.

We had a quick trip up from Sydney and had left it last minute but found this as one of the only spots available and it was awesome! The check in was warm and welcoming and front of house had all the great tips for the property of where the best spots for sunset and nature were. The room was cute and comfy and the beds were great. Had an amazing sleep and easy checkout the next day. Will definitely be back for a longer stay next time!!

Couldn't have been happier with this place. Beautiful views and well furnished private cabins with all amenities were just the start. Our kids loved being able to see the animals and were allowed to feed the horses (while one of the owners was present, obviously) and they really are pet friendly. Our dog was able to stretch his legs and have a run around the countryside. We stayed here as we booked late and had forgotten our return trip but will be making this place a staple on our trips.

This place is magical. Hostess with the mostest, Wayne and Paul were lovely and gave us lots of tips as well as showed us around the retreat. Retreat is located five min drive from Nimbin town centre, the rooms are big, tastefully designed, fresh linen, spotless spacious bathroom, handy little kitchenette area. The 80 acre(!) grounds are lush green with a little mountain hiking trail to boot. Have we mentioned the dogs? We loved their dogs! Super cute and well natured little Jack and beast. You will not be disappointed! We loved our (sadly too short!) stay and we can't wait to come back and bring our own pups along for the ride.

Beautiful quiet place surrounded by mountains and greenery. Pity I stayed here for only one night as I was there for work. I found a family of kangaroos close to the dwelling. The morning and evening gave beautiful views of foggy peaks of the surrounding mountains. Added advantage, limited cell coverage (you get signal only in specific places). The friendly owners have ensured good internet connectivity. Recommend at least 2 nights to de-stress yourself.

Comfortable, clean and spacious room and excellent hosts. Enjoyed the country atmosphere with the cattle and horses and beautiful mountain backdrop scenery. Definitely a place to unwind for two or three nights and explore the surrounding hinterland.

Thank You Paul & Wayne for a lovely stay, Magnificent picturesque location, beautiful place of peace & healing. Serene misty valley makes for a very special dawn. Thank You for directing Us on a beautiful morning walk. To really get the most out of Your visit here, I would recommend staying at least a few days. Weather You are ready to or not, a stay at Croftons Retreat will force You out of a ' 9 to 5 ' mechanic.
Thank You Paul & Wayne.
Sincerely; Tim & Peggy.

Property owner is a top bloke. Great hill on the property to go on a bush walk for a nice view, creek located at bottom of property across the road which is nice to hang out at. Lodgings were comfortable, would recommend!

Amazing Retreat, rooms were so clean and beds so comfy. We stayed in the motel and sitting out on the verandah cooking and a few bubblies was so wonderful as was the view. Santa found us and we opened our pressies to the sound of bird songs. Wayne is a delight and lovely and chatty as is Paul. Our little dog had a wonderful time. We shall be back..

Very quiet secluded place with lovely friendly hosts. Located a few minutes drive out of Nimbin. With spectacular views of the surrounding mountains, the stars are amazing at night and it's so quiet here. A great place for an overnighter or to base yourself for several days.

Lovely relaxing place. Very comfortable accommodation. As a large family group we took three rooms in the adjoining rooms block that had a great long wide verandar with multiple comfy lounges, chairs and coffee tables plus sheltered outdoor dining and bbq area. All looking out over a great view. Would happily stay there again. Thanks guys!

The very moment my husband and I turned onto Croftons road we were amazed by the beauty of the natural landscape.
Croftons retreat offers guests the joys of Nimbin without being in town and a relaxed and friendly vibe. If the weather was cooler we would have done the hike up the hill.
The hotel offers many comforts that one expects and it is obvious that alot of love and hard work has gone into the establishment of the retreat.
Words of advice - if you plan on drinking make sure you pack food.. it is a long hike into town when hungry. There is a BBQ, a microwave, a kettle and a toaster - so taking food is a good option.
Overall, if you want a cost effective getaway where you can be revived by nature (I am no camper) this is the place to come to!!
We will be visiting again!

Absolutely loved this place. If you're looking for complete bliss and relaxation this is it. Lots of nature around and you can go bush walking through the property. Two friendly hosts, with lots of attention to detail in the room and on the verandah. Loved the decor. Everything was very well presented. Would have liked to have stayed longer but already had future accommodation booked. About a 5 mins drive from alternative Nimbin, lots of places to chill out there and browse the shops. There is wifi which works on the verandah but we didn't use it. I am with Telstra and didn't get signal but those things don't really matter when staying in a place like this! Wonderful retreat and excellent value for money! Thanks Wayne and Paul :)

Picturesque setting... quiet.. cows in neighbouring paddocks... nice and clean accommodation.. I was pleasantly surprised... hint...don't drive there after dark like I did, and got lost, it's so dark out in the bush... Paul (the host) is wonderful...thank you... 🌞 very relaxing...

Very nice place with good owners, but the bugs inside the room were a bit put off, we had German cockroaches explode with horse hair worms inside them, and a couple big spiders.

The owners were very friendly and the rooms cozy. The Creek was a short walk away, behind the property was a pleasant walk up the hill. Lots of wildlife. Brilliant place

A beautiful location with warm & helpful hosts who made us feel like old friends, clean cabins with WiFi to keep connected to a world that feels so far away from the mist covered hills that surround the valley.

I ended up in Nimbin late at night needed to find somewhere to stay. I searched the internet and found The Croftin Retreat and called to book a room. The gentleman on the phone gave me the directions on how to get there. I drove out of town and turned onto Crofton Road and followed it until I found the Crofton Retreat sign as instructed by the gentleman on the phone. I then turned right up a dark gravel road I started to get concerned that I will never be seen again. Thoughts of the Wolf Creek movie were racing through my mind. A lot of good that movie done for Australian tourism. I followed the gravel track to the end and that's when I realised I have reached my destination. The gentleman who I spoke to on the phone greeted me with his dog as I disembarked from my vehicle. He said his name was Wayne and his dogs name is Bear. He showed me to my room and left me be. The room was spacious and well set out. The bed was immaculately made and it was comfortable. I really liked the natural sawn log kitchenette. It was only in the morning when I woke up and went outside I noticed the true beauty of this place. It is located half way up a hill overlooking green paddocks and trees. I could easily relax here for another week but I have plans to keep.
Just a tip for those who want to stay here, the internet or mobile service with virgin phones does not receive reception from inside the room. I had to walk out into the open to receive reception. There was not a problem with Telstra mobile gaining reception from the room.
Four stars from me.
