Beautiful views, artwork on the walls to appreciate, cute little courtyards, a sprawling property with sculptures, a vintage feel like you live in the times of the original staff, claw foot bathtub, high ceilings that keep you cool even in the heat of summer!

Amazing property with beautiful views of the rolling green hills.
Room was a little run down and tired (to be expected by such an old property) but we had a delightful stay none the less. ⭐⭐⭐⭐
✅ Amazing panoramic views
✅ Beautiful historic building
✅ Dog friendly
✅ Sculpture walk around the grounds
✅ Foxtel
❌ No internet
❌ Rooms run down
❌ Dirty cutlery/lack of cleaning products (dish cloth/scourer would be handy)

Some of the nicest views I have seen at any accommodation in Australia. This is a heritage property once used by the governors of NSW as a summer residence. We were in cottage 7 which had the amazing views just in front. The cottages are rather rustic as you might expect. The size of our cottage was huge. The sculpture park around the grounds is really lovely and takes at least an hour to explore on foot. Note the included breakie is supplied in the fridge and is not delivered. The English muffins, cereal with coffee and tea and butter and jam were more than adequate.

Awesome experience, like opening a door into another world. Very rustic. If you like old world charm this is your place. The sculptures around the property are a bonus.

Was the the hotel for a wedding. Amazing location. Beautiful, green rolling hills. Gorgeous sculptures scatter the grounds. Sculptures and large paintings displayed throughout the property, some of which I believe were available for purchase. Full sized billiards table. Wish I had stayed there rather than a hotel not to far away.
Only con I had was the driveway could do with a bit of work. Unsealed road at the beginning but as you get about half way up it becomes concrete that is badly cracked and damaged. I wouldn't want to take a very low car up or you'd risk ripping something off the bottom of it.

Hillview was originally the Viceroy's retreat. So it's a very historical house.
Currently run as a hotel, it has very nice accomodation in the Southern Highlands region. Our rooms consisted of a lounge, bedroom, separate kitchen facilities, and separate bathroom and toilet. Priced at $140 for a Sunday night (there are a wide range of prices online, and early bookings attract cheaper tariffs).
The grounds are beautiful, even in the current drought conditions. Beautiful large old trees abound, and there are pathways to wander around the large grounds. The hotel sits above it's surroundings and the views are nice.
Large sculptures dot the grounds and add interest to the hotel.
The house has a lot of history and the rooms all have their stories, and the host is happy to tell the tales.
It is not far from, Mittagong, Moss Vale, Bowral and Kiama/ Berrima, and would make a good base.
Continental breakfast makings are provided in the rooms, but there is no on-site restaurant, however Moss Vale RSL is 5 minutes up the road, as well as other eateries.
The facilities are not modern, as can be expected with such a house, but they are clean, very comfortable and more than make-up for that.
We plan to go back. 😊❤🍷

My partner and I had a wonderful getaway at the Hillview Heritage Hotel almost a year ago. The location was absolutely serine and the accommodation was extremely cozy. I'm only writing this now because we're contemplating going back and I realised I hadn't left a review!

What an amazing experience this has been. This place is an oasis of peace with a lot of history. Awesome location with great views and beautiful sculptures hidden around the acreage. We were a group of 11 and I've got to say, it was above everything we could have imagined. Damien is an amazing host. I would highly recommend this place to anyone. Perfect get away and it's pet friendly as well !!

We had quite a few close friends attending our wedding from overseas so we really wanted the accomodation, ceremony & reception to all be at the same venue so that we could maximise our time together. Hillview Heritage Hotel was the first and last venue that we looked at. It had everything we were looking for and Damien made it clear that we had full creative control over the venue and he was open to any ideas that we had. The hotel sits in stunning gardens scattered with contemporary sculptures and a backdrop of rolling hills that we were also able to enjoy the following day at our recovery picnic. We couldn't have been happier that we chose Hillview Heritage Hotel for our wedding and can't thank Damien enough for providing a beautiful and relaxed venue to use entirely how we chose to.

'Do yourself a favour!'
My wife, daughter, cavoodle and I spent last weekend embraced by the charm of Hillview. The back door of the Lord Carrington cottage opened to a private garden terrace overlooking a vast rural valley some 1000 feet below.Inside was spacious, warm and cosy.
For me, the sense of history of this grand estate with its old stables, barns
and vast homestead was intriguing and invigorating.
While the grounds compliment the picture of yesteryear with old sections there are also a lot of modern sculptures to sober your imaginations.
Thankyou Damien for being such a gracious host.
Your passion for this wonderful jewel of the State of NSW, means it is in the best of hands.
Great experience.
