At check-in the guest service agent ran through the facilities of the hotel and engaged in friendly banter.
The room was immaculately clean and spacious, despite being an entry level room. The view was lovely and the bathroom was extremely large.
Evening canapes were brilliant, as was afternoon tea and the breakfast buffet.
The real highlight of the property is the staff, from the doormen, to house keeping, the wait staff and guest services, everyone we encountered were extremely friendly and helpful.
In the past I've previously been put off by the price, as the Novotel is usually more affordable, however I can now see the level of service warrants the price. Will definitely stay here next time I'm in Sydney.

A friend and I have stayed at this hotel several times in the past month or so. It is very conveniently located in the city centre within easy walking distance to Darling Harbour. Parking and unloading luggage can be difficult on busy Market Street but the concierge is usually able to provide assistance. Parking is several streets away. The rooms are very comfortable and surprisingly quiet. Great bathroom and shower which is important to me. The beds are very comfortable. We really enjoyed our meals at the in house restaurant’10 Stories’. The bar area is well designed and cozy but service is variable and it did seemed understaffed at times. My martini was very ordinary (could not taste any gin) and my gin and tonic was also very light on the gin. I only ordered wine after that. Reception staff were usually friendly but again the desk seemed understaffed at times. Overall though, a very nice and comfortable place to stay in the heart of Sydney.
January 2022 update: At a recent stay my friend and I had excellent service with a most charming gentleman, Thiago, who went out of his way to ensure we had a very good experience. It was a 5 ⭐️ weekend! I also noted the bar had a few more gins to choose from! 😃 🍸

The hotel is in the middle of CBD. The room is a good size, clean and comfortable. The light rail is just a short walking distance too. It’s very convenient. I enjoyed my stay there.

Very nice however need to watch which class of room you book into as some will come with a bottle of water and some will not. If you are an early riser who needs breakfast in room better to request a bowl and spoon as none is provided. Business sometimes requires an early start.

Stayed here for the night while I had a wedding to attend at the QVB. Was literally under 30 seconds walk there. Pitt Streep Mall is a other street away and Myer directly underneath, Tram station located about a minute up the street, car-parking is the next street across. Very convenient location to basically anything in the city and it is all walking distance. The room was spacious along with the bathroom. I find it hard to sleep at hotels at times due to either too soft or hard pillows, theirs were perfect ! Slept so well. I couldn’t fault anything.

Room was amazingly clean and the location was very convenient. However, despite the expensive rate, no breakfast was included and the parking was not free($60 per night), we found out at the check out. Wish they mentioned it on the booking website more clearly.

We absolutely loved our 4 night stay at Swissotel (adult plus 2 kids aged 3 & 6).
We chose a room with 2 double beds and had lovely views of Sydney Tower from our window. The room felt spacious, was very clean, had every amenity you could possibly need and the beds were SO comfortable, the most comfortable I’ve ever slept on. The pressure and temperature of the water in the shower was amazing, like getting a shoulder massage when it was on full strength! The mini bar fridge was perfect for storing our water bottles and a few cans of soft drink.
We really appreciated the bottled water which was replaced each time the room was serviced.
All staff that we encountered were friendly and personable, and in particular they were so kind when my son hurt his leg at Darling Harbour and helped patch him up when we returned.
The buffet breakfast was really yummy, the cook to order eggs/omelettes were delicious and everything was topped up quickly. One minor piece of feedback is that the pastries were often very stale.
The pool area is lots of fun, with plenty of room and an awesome spa. The pool deck does get slippery, so if you have young children they’ll need to be reminded to walk.
At the moment due to COVID you do need to book in a time for breakfast and the pool each day, but it’s easily done and the staff are very accommodating.
In terms of location, it is perfect. Right next to Westfield which made shopping and grabbing a quick & easy meal or drink for the kids so easy. The Myer next door has a level completely dedicated to kids which we spent ages looking in… a kids dream! Everything we wanted to do was within a 10 min walk. We walked to Darling Harbour pretty much each day of our stay.
Thank you so much Swissotel for making our first little break away in a lonnnng time so lovely!

Had a great stay here at the Swissotel, familiar with the brand staying at a couple of their other hotels in other cities. The room was nice and clean, beds were comfortable, lots of room to move around in, all the staff were very friendly and helpful, breakfast was delicious and the location was very convenient being right in the heart of the city, near the Pitt Street Mall.

Best customer service! The concierge even knew my name when I arrived! The rooms are clean and spacious and the location is fantastic. I will come back here.

Our group of 9 recently stayed at Swissotel Hotel for 2 nights
(21-01-22 & 22-01-22).
I would like to thank the staff, especially Yuz Marfin for the excellent service who will goes the extra mile to attend to our request promptly.
The check-in is quick and efficient done within 10 minutes.
I was given an excellent clean room, huge bathroom with a great balcony view overlooking Darling Harbour.
This hotel is the perfect location for shopping and moving around in the city.
The valet, front desk staffs are courteous, friendly and welcoming.
Always greeting you with a smile.
Highly recommend this hotel.
We will stay at the Swissotel Hotel again.

Room is clean and cosy, staff are friendly, polite. Location is so convenient, shopping is right at door. Most of all, it’s very affordable.

Beautiful hotel in centre, or close to, city centre. Straight across to State Theatre, also close to Royal & Capital. Short taxi ride to Lyric, but can walk
Staff were welcoming and helpful.

Not what we expected for the price we paid. Room needs renovation badly.
Food for room service was fine but the food not good at all and charged too much for what was.
Won't be coming back again.

From the moment we walked in, we felt welcomed and well looked after. We booked a staycation for my best friend's birthday and were able to check in early, which made for a wonderful start -- and it only got better from there. First stop was a massage in the fabulous spa, highly recommend. Next was afternoon tea in the Crossroads bar, which was delicious albeit a little light on service. Once we returned to our room, there was a special delivery - a surprise complimentary birthday cake! Really made her weekend. We enjoyed every meal, with a highlight being the Wagyu burger (easily the best chips in Sydney). Recommend the corner rooms for the bath, space, and views over Sydney Tower/Hyde Park. Wonderful and refreshing stay with impeccable service.

I have all been delighted to stay at the Swissotel previously enjoying Gold Membership card benefits and the hotel's appreciation of membership. The Swissotel is excellent in its convenience and staff's attentiveness and the great job by the cleaning staff. My stay at present over the Christmas break has been thoroughly disappointing . Meals for Gold membership discounts have dropped from 50% off meals to only 10% and gone are the little niceties of chocolates and fruit in the room. It is sad to say the time has come for me to no longer stay at the Swissotel because other hotel would value my patronage more

It was mixed experience that ended up on rather good note! The check in was awful, the room was not ready in two hours after arrival, and it was especially annoying that it was not ready after which is their usual check in time. Make sure you call and ask for early check in, if you are arriving early. Most of the time in Accor hottels there is no issue and you are accomodated quite fast, this one was not the case and it was not pleasant. In addition the reception was buisy and lack of staff was obvious from the long lines at reception to the restaurant. Please note that executive lounge is not operating on Sunday, however the canapes and drinks are still available from 5:30 till 7:30 at the main bar area. It is also good to note that the bar is closing at 8pm on Sunday to serve drinks. Generally the experience at the bar was good, the house wine was acceptable and the service was ok, although undestaffed. The canapes could be better as you would be served a few mini sausage rolls and a couple of mini spring rolls with tomato sauce. For the exacutive lounge access food you would wish for better options. Also please be sure to check your bill at checkout if you pay at the bar, as we were double charged at the bar and on the room for our main course.
Now the room quality was good size and up to standard. The pool spa and sauna was also working and good quality. In fact it was the best sauna experience in Australian hottels over the last few years as it was decent temperature and working well. Spa and a swimming pool were also good, not to crowded and fit for their purpose!
Our spoiled check in experience was saved by Sylwia, the girl send from heaven. Swisotel is lucky to have her serving guests at reception and do the hard work of turning mediocre experience into wishing to try it again! Unfortunately she was not there when we arrived. However she was the one to work out our check in issues and get our experience in order for which we are so very greatfull!
Also a lot of people in previous reviews were complaining about breakfast quality. We believe that breakfast experience was outstanding, on par with the best out there. We stayed at Shangri La in June this year and we could say that breakfast quality at Swisotel is on par if not better.
Overall, we could still recommend this hottel for good quality upgraded rooms and good overall facilities and most importantly for its fabulous location just in the heart of Sydney's CBD.

We had such an excellent stay here with our one year old daughter. The staff were excellent and went above and beyond!

Excellent stay. The receptionist is nice and professional. We are offered an early check-in before noon which is appreciated.
The room is smaller than the previous visit but that is all right. The best thing about Swissotel is it’s location, just right above Myer in CBD and next to Pitt St shopping mall. Can’t beat that.
All in all, we are happy repeated customers and will continue to stay at Swissotel when visiting Sydney. Two thumbs up 👍👍

I am sure at better times this would be a fine hotel. But if you are traveling here from overseas during periods of travel restrictions, then I don’t recommend it. I am staying for 7 nights, first 3 in self-isolation. But on Day 5 and Day 6, and after providing proof negative PCR test result, the hotel still refuses provide any house keeping. Every time I inquired, the hotel customer service rep gave me a different reason as to why they don’t clean the room. No clear guideline or communication. Day 7 and the last night in this hotel, and I would not be surprised if my room is never cleaned during my entire 7 nights stay.
The in-room dining men is not only limited but they charge $9++ PER DELIVERY from their own restaurants downstairs. During self isolation you would have no choice but to order from them.
Also the wifi login never worked. They did provide a working generic one, which gave me 24 hours wifi connection for the first few days. That meant I had to re-log in every day.
To be fair, the room is good sized, bed is very comfortable, shower is strong and hot, and there is a bathtub. Wifi, while unsafe, is stable. Location is fantastic. But I won’t be returning until travel restrictions ease. Their procedures are not designed to support guests under the ever-changing rules.

Swissotel excels in terms of its lux interior, seamless check-in process for Accor Plus members, their professional & courteous front office staff, strategic location from the airport with 5min flat road walking distance from St James train station (direct airport line), in addition to offering spacious rooms for the price you pay. We stayed overnight and it was so accessible to local shopping, restaurants, cafes and beautiful parks. Highly recommend for an overnight or weekend stay in Sydney CBD.

We picked this hotel for our family long weekend escape to Sydney and it didn't disappoint.
The location is absolutely amazing.
Check-in and check-out were quick and easy (got checked in a few hours earlier than the standard check-in time).
The room and hotel in general were clean
The beds were comfortable.
Some of the things that didn't really resonate with us were the breakfast experience, as well as the room's bathroom being a bit dated.

Our stay was very relaxing, the staff are very friendly and helpful the rooms are very modern and very comfortable also the food in the restaurant is very nice

Great location which is close to the rail lines, restaurants and shopping. The rooms are extremely clean. You get cute soap and body wash when you check in with kids. The staff is very friendly and we would definitely recommend this hotel.

Excellent location and facilities. Great breakfast buffet. Ask for a higher floor as there aren't many lifts and if you are trying to descend they can be full when they get to your floor (due to social distancing). Plan for 20 mins wait going down, or use fire stairs.

The rooms were great in size and had everything you needed, beds really comfortable and had water views from the 20th floor. However, check in took over half an hour due to hotel being nearly at capacity, bar service was really slow and room service took one hour instead of 20 mins as stated. If you have patience, your stay will be fantastic. All staff were polite and apologetic for the delays in service.

My friends and I stayed at this hotel for 2 nights while in Sydney for Hamilton. One of the best hotel experiences I have ever had. The location is amazing, the room and facilities, beautiful, and every staff member we dealt with was friendly, helpful and a lot of fun! I will absolutely return and recommend!

I stayed for a night on 26/03/21 for a brief business trip. The room and hotel was really nice. However, the person that checked me in completely lost all sense of composure because my office had only made the booking under my first name and the payment had not worked. This didn't bother me in the slightest and I was happy to pay. But the person continued to give me terse instructions on why it was incredibly inconvenient for him. It made no sense that something so small could frustrate someone so much and it left me feeling tense and flustered.

Hotel and all areas were very clean.
All staff were very friendly, attentive and able to offer help and give directions. Staff also gave us some great places to visit.
Not much variety for room food service & wifi was very slow.

Arrived in the midst of the recent deluge affecting Sydney, doorman and concierge were genuinely concerned with expediting my check in at no additional cost when all I had asked was to check my luggage in to cloak at the door.
Cannot sing the praises of this hotel and their staff any higher.
Spacious rooms and a beautiful art Deco ambience on the 8th floor lobby.
Regret not being able to use the pool due to the weather being so cold and giving a full review but everything looked to be in order and I saw two guests having a great time in there regardless of the cold rain.
Also they put a birthday cake in my room on arrival, was not my birthday but a friend who I was to see later after check in. Not sure how this was accomplished as I only mentioned in passing to the concierge while I was checking in.
So amazing.
WILL DEFINITELY RETURN
LOVE YOU GUYS
Sheer excellence

Huge thanks to all of the team who went above and beyond to make our stay fabulous. We stayed whilst enjoying the Bondi to Manly walk (80 kms).
The kitchen team packed a takeaway breakfast each morning to accommodate our early starts.
On return, the spa saved our muscles and the bed was super comfy. Will recommend this hotel to friends and family.

Absolutely stunning Swissotel 💕 Highly recommend. Staff are so professional and friendly. We were blown away... we were made to feel so welcomed.
We have been treated with immense kindness and respect. The staff are exceptional! The hotel stunning! An all round perfect choice for anyone wanting to stay in the heart of the city.
Thank you so much for a wonderful stay.

This hotel is in a great location, heart of the action. We were there on valentines, high tea, booked in advance, yet long wait for food. Service is acceptable, it does not do justice to the grandeur or atmosphere. Opportunity for improving the service offer.

Location near Myer and Westfield. Easy access with light rail, busses and trains. Staffs are nice

Located in the heart of Sydney's CBD on the Market Street which is usually busy and all amenities with reach. Our stay was comfortable as the rooms were great and so was the staff. Only con that you will have to take 2 lifts once to reach the lobby and the other to reach the rooms. Highly recommended if you want to enjoy the hustle and bustle of a big city.

We were made to feel welcome from the minute we entered. All areas were clean and well presented and staff were very accommodating and helpful. I will definitely recommend this to anyone that is looking to stay in the Sydney CBD and within the shopping and attraction precinct. A big thank you to Christopher who was the person checking us in, he was helpful accommodating and understanding, he went above and beyond to ensure our stay was perfect and comfortable.
