Intercon Sydney undergoing substantial renovation but they are brilliantly organised for a great stay. We were one of the first to experience the new rooms. Excellent. Shower brilliant compared to the previous arrangement. …

Lovely hotel. Currently undergoing major renovations, but service is still great. Our room was one of the newer rooms and was lovely and comfortable. Outstanding features included large Samsung TV, large Bluetooth speaker, automatic curtains and you can't go past the views.
The breakfast room is great and the buffet options were delicious.
The gym and pool are reopened and are worth a visit.

Don't stay here. There is no direct line to front desk and whenever customer service transfers you to front desk, it always drops or front desk can't hear you. Their telephone tech is terrible.
*** UPDATE.
I updated the review from 2 stars (prior to stay) to 4 stars (post-stay).
The rooms are all renovated and very nice. Staff at hotel were all amazing, friendly, helpful.
Their main switchboard/operator technology is still terrible. It is so hard to get a hold of front desk when calling from an outside line. Please fix!

Our to go to Hotel world wide. We had a staycation in Intercon Sydney this Christmas and everyone including the kids thoroughly enjoyed it. The location is convenient, room was beautifully presented and clean. The pool is heated with gorgeous views. Concierge and room service prompt and polite.

In the last three weeks, I have stayed in 3 premium Sydney hotels for work. All three visits have been very late check-in very early checkout, and the InterContinental is the ONLY hotel to meet my minimum needs of Valet, Speedy CheckIn/Out, …

Staff were great and very helpful rooms were clean and bathrooms very nice with the upgrade. Only issue was the pillow covers had a bad odour like a musty smell. but stayed here many times and this was my first time I experienced that but overall it was great.

I was looking forward to seeing the refurbishments. I couldn't have been more disappointed. What a shame, to have an opportunity to refresh and improve only to turn this once distinctive hotel into a generic, plastic-filled, boring …

If you have stayed here before, you would remember the outdated rooms, with the smallest TV, and old systems.
Today, I was truly shocked, the rooms have new carpets, modern speakers and a massive TV. New interior colours.
Gone are the pointless small baths which have been replaced with a marble shower rooms.
It is very cool, dark corridors with effective lighting.
I am a premium member of IHG programme. But this transformation has made this hotel too cool for school. Big thumbs up. Amazing job

This hotel is always terrific with friendly staff and great views of Sydney harbour. I would have liked a laytex rubber pillow as the feather ones are too soft for me. Beds are very comfortable.

Loved having a room with a view across the harbour. It was glorious to watch the sunset and the sunrise and although there were blackout curtains I just didn’t want to miss any part of the view. …

In the last three weeks, I have stayed in 3 premium Sydney hotels for work. All three visits have been very late check-in very early checkout, and the InterContinental is the ONLY hotel to meet my minimum needs of Valet, Speedy CheckIn/Out, Stocked Minibar on arrival and Overnight room service. (used to seem like a low bar)
Now that might sound stuck-up, but when you only have 5 or 7 hours total from arrival to departure, minutes matter and the last thing you need with a midnight arrival is to find out the carpark is closed, there is no valet and you have to park up the street, followed by nothing but water in the room.
Thankyou InterContinental Sydney, and especially to the overnight staff for continuing to provide exceptional Hospitality during these difficult times, as it is in difficult times that we see the true nature of people (and companies) and I can say for certain that IHG stands above the competition and more then justifies to rate premium that quite rightly is attached.
I very much look forward to returning, hopefully for a little longer next time.

Had a great stay at this beautiful hotel. We were lucky enough to stay in a newly refurbished room overlooking the harbour. Amazing stay. Cannot wait to go back

A beautiful view to wake up to in the harbour view room. The heritage part of the building is stunning and breakfast on 'the balcony' was excellent. The swimming pool was the right temperature, very clean with plenty of towels. Staff were friendly and relaxed and the general location was great.

A great staycation with the family. Staff were friendly and accommodating with our little bubba. Crib was supplied by the hotel on request (proper cot off the ground not a travel cot which was a nice surprise) plus included baby toiletries and a little welcome gift (teddy bear) for our daughter. Great location with lots of food options in the area. Definitely recommend high tea on the top floor which has amazing views!

Fantastic location overlooking Sydney Harbour with views of the Opera House, Harbour Bridge, Lunar Park and all the way to the Heads.
Friendly staff, conveniant valet parking and good food.

The construction noise was too much, and the lounge was too expensive for what it offered, although the lounge staff was excellent. I wished to enjoy the view more freely, not just night time or afternoon tea time, while I was staying …

Best staycation ever! We stayed over the Christmas holiday and loved the small touches- gingerbread cookies with room service and breakfast, a Christmas card with fancy chocolates. The hotel was quieter but the service was top notch. They also had set up the panorama bar at the top that had real fun cocktails. They aren’t doing the breakfast buffet right now and instead let you order from the breakfast menu along with a high tea style presentation which I thought was even nicer than the traditional breakfast. Incredible views all around! Will definitely recommend to visiting family and friends. Nice pool too!

Views from the outdoor deck are worth the price of a cocktail alone. Friendly and efficient service. Great place to enjoy some after show nibbles and cocktails.

Surprised me, got the cheapest room available for a quick overnight stay, one of the nicer hotel rooms I've stayed in. Very close to the Opera House, I was able to walk back very comfortably.

Our experience was amazing here and would come again in a heart beat. Thank you to all the staff who made our stay a memorable one. After a small mix up, we were upgraded to a stunning room where our family had all the space they needed whilst absorbing the most stunning views. The customer service here was exceptional and we couldn’t fault anything. Will only stay here when we visit Sydney again.
