We loved Marramarra Lodge and we will be back. We were there for our anniversary and what a place to be for it! We were also there for Christmas lunch and what a meal we had.
From the moment we pulled up on our boat and pulled up a mooring we were then greeted with the skipper and crew to take us to the island. What a great way to get there!
What a place so peaceful.
The food was amazing by the French chefs. Wow Wow Wow!!
Atmosphere and staff all outstanding. I wish I could remember everyones name to thank them personally.
Look forward to returning. Referring all friends and family.

I went with my adult son and we had a wonderful time, the cottage was very large and well appointed. The staff was very professional and friendly. I did not expect the food to be that good, I am a fussy gourmet eater and cook and it was truly excellent and highly refined.
The sommelier was also amazing and I did not expect them to have such a wide selection of fine French wines. And all the bubbly was true French champagne, which is rarely the case in many other places. In the end, given the quality of food and generous all included drinks it turned out to be good value.
It is the perfect place for a few days retreat!

Our stay at Marramarra Lodge was an exquisite and flawless delight from the moment our boat transfer collected us from Deerubben Boat Ramp, until we were returned there at the end of our stay.
The location of the Lodge is simply stunning, the bungalows are spacious, light, and beautifully appointed with wonderful direct views of the river, the service is exceptionally professional yet relaxed and personable, and every single meal was an utterly delicious and memorable experience, with chef Jerome delivering an implausibly consistent gourmet experience that stays with you long after your stay.
Marramarra Lodge was undoubtedly one of the most amazing experiences we ever had and we cannot recommend it highly enough.
And did I mention that all this is literally less than an hour away from Sydney?!

Just back from this amazing property after a two night stay for our anniversary. It exceeded all our expectations. The tent was beautifully appointed with an amazing view. The staff were approachable, friendly and the service unpretentious. The food was consistently amazing. We did the 720 hike before breakfast and it did not disappoint - spectacular view from the top and a sufficiently challenging walk to work up an appetite for the chilli crab omelette . Paddle boards and kayaks all set up by request and with a smile. Massage with Justine was also amazing.
Well done team Marramarra - you are nailing a truly Australian style luxury escape.

Marramarra Lodge is a great lux lodge :)
I stayed here with my partner to celebrate our 10 years anniversary. Although it rained, we still enjoyed every moment. Staff were very attentive and friendly. Chef was amazing as well. Every course was different. 5/5

We have just enjoyed a single night at this amazing lodge to celebrate an anniversary. We found the whole experience perfect - the staff are friendly, courteous, obliging, and very professional. Our cabin was very comfortable - a beautiful bed, air conditioning, fully equipped ensuite etc. The meals were delicious and the accompanying wines well matched.
What is so special about Marramarra is that its feels so remote and connected with nature, and yet is so close - perfect for anyone looking to experience a different environment in absolute luxury, or just wanting to escape a hectic life.
We will visit again, the only difference is that we will not limit ourselves to one night.
PS. The in-house massage was the fantastic.

What a beautiful and exceptional place. My sister and I stayed at Marramarra lodge for five nights, we hadn’t seen each other for three years and wanted to create some beautiful new memories together.
Well we were impressed from day one, Romina greeted us on the dock and gave us a lovely tour. Our room was spectacular in one of the Peninsula tents - beautiful views of the river and lovely furniture.
We loved the welcome letter and we’re very excited by the wine list thinking we would have a chance to try them all. This was before we had dinner. All courses were so delicious we were not expecting the quality nor the taste and the wine pairings were perfect. We soon realised we would need to pace our wine consumption - not asking for second glasses if we were to stay hangover free haha. You can get any bottle of wine shared to your room though your mini bar also has some ready options for you too.
The pool is beautiful and the experiences (some free and some with an add-on cost) were excellent. We had many spa experiences with Justine, absolutely loved her attention to detail and care. And I tried out a jet ski tour (loved it!).
Pip, Nick, and Romina were great hosts. We felt very looked after. Jerome is an amazing chef - the food is magnificent . And we loved all the staff members, they each brought the warmth to our stay. Thank you!

Just the right combination of luxury and nature. The food is fantastic, but what makes it so special is the superb personal and authentic service from the moment you arrive right up to when you depart. I thoroughly recommend Marramarra Lodge if you want luxury, nature, exclusivity, warm and personal service, for that special occasion or just a break. My wife and I could not have picked a better place to mark and celebrate our wedding anniversary. Thank you to all the staff at Marramarra Lodge!

Really gorgeous place. Would 100% revisit (despite the terrible weather it was still super special). The staff are all incredibly attentive and nothing was ever too much. The arrival drinks, river cruise with champagne & oysters and the dinner with wine pairing were all completely spot on, zero complaints or advice for improvements. Great accommodation with very comfortable beds, all accommodation has great views but the tents have a slightly better setting.
Only 4 * instead of 5 because the lunch we found a real disappointment. The burger and chips were very basic (small burger on a basic bun - no salad which would have rounded out the meal). Was expecting more from the lunch as the first day had been so wonderful.
Would 100% return as we had such a great time but perhaps would check the lunch options before picking.

We stayed at the tent-like room. Very lovely and large sized room, comfy bed, complete bar fridge. It's a very nice atmosphere being away from the hustle and bustle.
Massage, spa and facial was top class. Thanks to both the girls for a great 2.5 hours.
While no one will not go hungry, I had a slightly higher expectation of the food served, for example: fish and chips - chips were extremely soggy and oily (it was most likely fried while the oil was still not up to temp), bread served with dinner was also very oily.
Staff were extremely friendly and accommodating (Nick, Pip, Jayden, Niko).
Thanks to the team for the lovely getaway.

From the moment we arrived we have loved the experience. The staff were welcoming and attentive and the food… beyond fabulous! Wonderful wine list and great accomodation. Highly recommend MarraMarra for a relaxing escape.

Thank you to Marramarra lodge for making our stay one to remember. My partner and I got engaged at the resort, and Pip and Nick made it that much more special. Their service was impeccable - nothing is too hard. The staff were so warm and made us feel right at home. From the amazing food and wine, to the world class views, to the uber luxe spa - I can’t speak highly enough of this resort. This is the perfect place for anyone wanting a romantic weekend away or just some r&r time. Thank you again!

I had a beautiful and relaxing 5 night stay at Marramarra lodge in mid Dec 2021.
I chose a bungalow, and had a glorious view. Bed was comfortable, a well-stocked bar fridge in the room, the most comfortable sofa in the room to sit and enjoy the water views on rainy afternoons! Wake ups were to the sound of birdlife, the water, and the buzz of busy bees.
Food was delicious and varied every day - the chef also a friendly chap to chat to.
I spent time reading books on sun lounges in the beautiful pool area in the mornings, going kayaking or on bush walks, and drinking bubbly in the boathouse in the afternoons! Even got a little bit social by the firepit after dinner each evening.
The staff are all lovely and made the stay even brighter - Nick, Pip, Milan, Mel, Niko, Baburam, Ellie and co!
I cannot fault it. At a real stretch I'd say the only thing I would have liked was to have a nice salted butter with the bread some nights! Clearly scraping at the barrel here.
Thank you for the lovely time!

We stayed at Marramarra Lodge in October and it exceeded our expectations. The customer service was genuinely outstanding and the food and drink provided (breakfast, lunch and dinner with a fully-stocked all-inclusive mini bar) was perfect. The resort is extremely well-kept and in an incredible location.
I proposed to my then girlfriend as soon as we arrived - the team set up a picnic with non-alcoholic sparkling wine (as my Fiance is pregnant) and even organised one of the staff to take pictures of the moment whilst hiding in the bushes!
Start to finish we were amazed with the level of detail the staff and owners have put into making the stay as comfortable as possible.
A special mention to Romina for organising the proposal months in advanced and providing multiple options to capture the moment as best as possible.

My wife and I stayed between Christmas and New Year. Absolutely wonderful, great staff, great location, incredible food and exceptional service. Can't wait to get back.

Marramarra Lodge exceeded our expectations. The location is peaceful and exclusively private. The food is 5 stars and staff went above and beyond to accommodate our groups requirements.
We will definitely be back to this romantic resort. Facilities made our stay enjoyable. Rooms were meticulously clean and private. Ally and Jayden made our stay memorable and skipper Brett made our cruise a memory we will never forget.
Thank you Martin for making us feel welcome
We hope to be back and will share our experience with family and friends.

Quite simply amazing ! My partner and i recently visited the Marramarra lodge for a special weekend away and it exceeded all expectations.
The property itself is a little slice of paradise, tranquil and the perfect spot to recharge.
The food is mouth watering and rivals some of the best culinary experiences i've enjoyed around the world.
The team is professional and went above and beyond, i can not thank them enough for everything.
We look forward to our next visit

This was my second time staying at Marramarra and I'm already looking forward to go back again. This time it was a girls trip and I can't express in words how amazing this trip was. The minor upgrades from last year contributed to this experience along with the decadent food, hospitable staff and beautiful atmosphere. They took all our preferences into consideration including catering to my pregnant sister and considering it in all aspects of our stay from the food to recommending activities. A big thank you to all the staff especially Milly and Richard for their warm and friendly presence.

What a special couple of days. Probably the best break we've had in Australia in the last ten years. Peaceful, unique, amazing food (with a six course degustacion, matching wines every night and exquisite lunches) but most importantly engaging, knowledgeable,
generous and friendly staff.
While still relatively new with a couple of things to iron out Marramarra will only get better with time. If you want to make memories you couldn't wish for a better place. Australia needs more places like Marramarra Lodge! Nice work Marty and team.

Wow, expectations exceeded. We wanted an all inclusive luxurious break and Marramarra lodge & the staff certainly delivered. The location is perfect, quiet, peaceful & beautiful. The accommodation is really comfortable with all you need for your stay. The food was exquisite, hats off to the chef and team preparing the meals they were all delicious. All the staff were really friendly and helpful. A lot of work goes in to make sure you don't have to do anything. It was just what we wanted and was very hard to leave, definitely worth a stay. Thank you Shona & team!!

Not a single word can describe this place. What really made the lodge a memorable and loving place for my wife and i was the service and the people. Marty, Jerome, Allie, the spa and massage the assistant chef, boat guys and the list goes on. The team went above and beyond to cater for our needs, even when we had no needs !, they consistently made sure our stay was comfortable and warm.
Hands down the best food my wife and i have ever had in our lives, it blew the taste buds out of our mouths. We have never experienced such amazing dishes in our lives and cannot thank Jerome enough for what we experienced.
All in all a hidden gem that needs to be experienced and a rare combination of scenery and amazing exceptional staff made marramarra an everlasting loving memory.
Thank you team at marramarra and we hope to see you again soon !

My husband and I spent four days at Marramarra. The lodge is only accessible by boat on the majestic Hawkesbury River and the area is peaceful and replete with bird life. The food at the lodge is exquisite and the experiences are well worthwhile engaging in. We did the “Oyster Elegance” tour with local Oyster Farmer Sheridan and the “Cultural Experience” with Aboriginal elder Tim. I would highly recommend both. Kudos to the management Martin and Nikki and special thanks to Milly and Aly in the dining room, Matt & Tim in the kitchen & Jayden and Sean on the boats and around the grounds. You all made our stay extra special and we will be recommending Marramarra to family and friends far and wide.

One of the best stay experiences in Australia I have had. Highly recommend to anyone considering. The site, rooms, staff and food are all of the highest quality and hard to beat. The team have created an experience that is truly unique and special. Thanks for having us!

What a weekend! Moments from Sydney but you feel worlds away. The staff and service was outstanding, we were made to feel at home and were spoilt with the most incredible food, wine and cocktails. Everything was so impressive! The sunset cruise, oysters, champagne, 6 course dinners, dessert wines by the fire, kayaking, exploring and enjoying the winter sun in the most quiet and pristine surrounds, so so relaxing. The rooms are so special and have unbeatable views. Also the massage was easily one of her best we’ve had. Thank you to Shona and all of the staff that looked after us, to everyone reading this, do yourself a favour and get to Marramarra Lodge! We are already planning our next visit. The perfect getaway experience! Thank you.

Our stay at Marramarra Lodge was above our expectations. The level and quality of service provided by Shona and all of her team was amazing. From the time you are picked up for the boat ride you are made to feel welcomed. Cannot recommend Marramarra Lodge highly enough for that quiet, secluded romantic weekend away with your wife partner.

Just came back from the most lovely stay at Marramarra lodge. Parked our car (free) at the boat ramp. Jumped on the private boat to the lodge with gorgeous views felt like an adventure right away. On arrival the staff are waiting to greet you at the jetty where you are taken to the lodge for drinks and personally walked to your beautiful accommodation. We stayed in one of the rooms that has the tent fixture with a beautiful modern bathroom attached and compete with air con. Perfect example of glamping! Bed was so comfy and the room was large with stunning views. Completely relaxing & it was actually lovely to not have the distraction of a TV. Meals were incredible every single one (and I am a fussy eater) Shona was fantastic she went above and beyond to make sure we were happy (and fed) along with the rest of the staff who were also so accommodating and friendly. Lots of activities available though we chose to spend the time relaxing, reading and of course eating. Beautiful look out points and scenery. Complimentary sunset cruise was also beautiful. Had a massage on the Saturday which was wonderful spa is clean and new. All in all we had an amazing experience and always like to leave review so others can get a idea before booking. Highly Recommend! MarraMarra Lodge is luxury for every one. And even though your only just up the free way you feel like you have gone to a different world! Very sad to have to come home to reality.

From the moment we we stepped onto the boat and arrived at Marramarra Lodge we were truly spoilt. The location, incredible staff, food (wow), wine, Italian cocktails, accommodation, boat tour, kayaking, fishing boathouse, picnic and attention to detail is all 5 star. We have left relaxed and very happy. Could not recommend more highly!

From the moment you set foot on the property Shona and the team take care of you with warmth, humor and care. The lodges and tents are aptly furnished making the accommodation cosy, clean and comfy. Food from chef Paul is exceptional. Great wine pairing by Taylor and Ashleigh and their service as hosts are just great. Loved our Christmas break here. Thanks Shona, Paul, Ash, Taylor, Jayden, Sam, James, Alyssa and Archie the furby for taking care of us.

The best indulgent getaway I’ve had. A place to reset, relax and be pampered. Stayed in a bungalow which I loved - large and tastefully decorated with a great view of the river. Food and service was wonderful. Plenty to do on the river - or do nothing if you prefer. First time to the Hawkesbury for me and I’ll be back.

Marramarra lodge (water access only) is terrific. The rustic / luxe blend is perfect and the service as good as it gets. Food exceptional. The “all inclusive tariff worked seamlessly and was good value for money.

Stunning location, atmosphere, service, food, wine, day spa and activities. Hidden paradise not far from Sydney. Perfect for weekend break, special occasion, romantic getaway. Highly recommended.

Fantastic place, brand new. Excellent staff and fantastic chief. Matched wines with dinner and great get away retreat. Staying in tent is like no other tent with queen bed, air-conditioning and a magestic view of the hawksburrry river

The best kept secret just outside of Sydney. Phenomenal food, location and service makes this one of my favourite secret places to escape. Don’t think twice, just do it. 💯

Amazing Place

Struggling to put into words just how exquisite Marramarra Lodge is. I surprised my husband for our wedding anniversary, a two night escape away from our young kids and this place was perfection in every sense. The service is next to none, such friendly culturally diverse staff without the stuffiness and pomp of a “luxury resort”. The exquisitely prepared food from truffles to marron, lobster to saffron yoghurt, it was a no-expenses-spared multi course delight meal after meal, all so delicious. The beautifully appointed “glamping” tent is a must, particular in this peaceful bush setting. I didn’t realize the room rate included everything from the food, to the champagne, to the cocktails by the pool, to kayak rental - it’s everything. It makes it all so easy. Because it’s only water access syou feel like it’s just you on the entire peninsula, but yet there was always someone to help or ask if you needed something. The help-yourself-fridge in the boat shed, also a nice touch. Beautiful quite bush walks and hikes with your phone in your back pocket also makes you feel safe despite feeling so isolated. I’ve returned home feeling completely and utterly relaxed. The only bad outcome of writing this review is that it’ll be much harder to book a room from now on because the secret is out! Thank you Pip, Nick, Marc and the entire team!
C. L.
Excellent from start to finish. The staff were so accommodating and friendly, the food was sensational, and just the ambience of the whole place... divine! We have small kids so it was a little getaway for two nights and the peace and quiet of the property was very welcome. I enjoyed not having to be anywhere or have to do anything at a particular time - except for the day spa appointment and that certainly wasn't a chore... it was just another blissful experience to cap off a great weekend. Can't wait to go back one day soon!
