I've been going to Matthew Talbot Hostel for over 4 years and have never had a bad experience in those years. The staff are always friendly and helpful in many ways. The facilities such as: free clothing; $1.50 for use of the laundry; free showers and a free towel; free meals and subsidised accommodation and OZNAM Centre in an adjoining building and it's free services are exceptional just like the staff and volunteers! Your personal safety is of primary concern and Matthew Talbot staff have "no hesitation" in assisting you in every way.

It's a place to go if your down on your luck so it's not the best best. The outside streets are dirty but the inside isn't to bad. They have free meals and showers and computers. So not to bad a very appreciated place just in case you run out of money or something when traveling so you can travel to Sydney knowing that even if you mess up you have a safety net. It is I believe only for men though. But even if you are a woman or couple there is so much free stuff around the city. They hand out a lot of free food and the people are pretty friendly with nice life stories. Keep an open mind it's a good experience and is in complete contrast with the people that walk the street in business attire always rushing to get to work.

I worked here on my years working holiday in 1997 from England , it's the best job I ever had. I worked in the kitchen with a chef called Kenny, Chinese guy John, balinese girl berthy, and a lot of other great people .Gutted that I couldn't stay there , let alone in Australia. I think it's my time there , that's set me on the path to work in catering now. I also loved interacting with guys staying at the Mathew Talbot , wonderful people most of the time . All the staff do a great job or they did at least when I was there.

It's one giant task being asked of the staff and volunteers here on a daily basis at Matthew Talbot Hostel. Yet the persistence and determination of a small few to help so so many surely is to be praised and admired!! I pray that this country can somehow remember that we are Australia!!! And we can and should do so much more! Because we can...

The staff who work at the Mathew Talbot care about the homeless and go out of there way to assist the homeless. I personally have been given many free lovely top brand clothing by the Mathew Talbot and the free meals, much more than I deserved they are a WONDERFUL charity

Variety of meals (3 a day with extra snacks), Showers, Toilets, Free razors, towels, doctors, beds and next door they even have pc's to use! Smoker's area and extra events (gym) IF HOMELESS GO HERE!!!!!!! They've saved my skin until Payday. <333 ~FoxTailedCritter/Jonathan ELLISON

It houses and feeds men who would otherwise be sleeping on the streets. I stayed there for just over a year and with a lot of work from my Case worker and me I landed a spacious one bedroom unit. I owe Matthew Talbot a great deal.....

It's a men's only temporary accommodation hostel. They have free breakfast, OLC building, free lunch, resource centre, a medical clinic and a rooftop where alot of people hang out.

Wonderful service helping homeless and disadvantaged men. Because of the Mathew Talbot hostel I was not forced to spend 3 nights on the street and was given a bus and train ticket home to the country

Good place for men in need of emergency accommodation and cheapest accommodation in there category in house medical needs councillor's for clients living in the hostel p.s watch out for the Talbot flu gent's

6 star review not real happy with the Talbot im from West Aust hope they pick up there game especially with there mail and keeping clients personal belongings and refunds when you have paid cash and circumstances change.

I HAVE RESIDED AT THIS ST. VINCENT De PAUL RUN ACOOMODATION FACILITY. I FOUND THE PROFESSIONALISM OF THE STAFF,MEALS,CASE MANAGEMENT AND SUPPORT FACILITATION EXCEPTIONAL AND EXEMPLARY.
