D. W.Fantastic! Rooms are basic BUT and it’s a big but, John the proprietor is fabulous. He couldn’t have bent any further backwards for us. His friendly and accommodating attitude made us want this to be our regular pit stop up and down the east coast. You don’t need a 5star hotel when you get above and beyond human kindness. Thank you John!

The motel is aging but retains charm and has a lovely rural view.

A lovely, affordable stay. My bed was comfortable, my room was clean, and all the bathroom facilities, while being a little older, worked perfectly.
The hotel has a very cute retro vibe, with an added vintage radio in the room and cool Californian cop car out front. Don't mistake retro for old though, as the furniture and amenities inside were far from it.
The WiFi was fast and the air-conditioning was quiet. I wasn't able to work out how to turn off the patio light during my one-night stay, so in case it cannot be turned off, maybe pack a sleep mask if you're affected by light as the blinds aren't blackout.
John was very friendly and more than willing to offer help and advice if needed. I checked in a little later in the evening and he had prepared a seamless self-check in (and out!) for me.
It was a shame I was only there for a very brief stop in as the small town seemed lovely and the local businesses seem to be worth exploring. Hopefully I will be back soon!

Perfect location. All the beaches I've seen so far in this area are so tranquil with picture perfect waves and all within a 30 minute drive from the motel.
I will be back to see more sights!
L. J.My dad and I stopped here on the way home to Sydney from Brisbane after purchasing a new car. Upon arrival we were greeted by John and he welcomed us to the motel. He also drove to the pub nearby to make sure it was still open and showed me some of his cars. He also gave me 2 Holden pillow cases as a souvenir to remember the trip by. This was by far the best service I had ever received at any hotel or motel. The room itself was great, it was clean and cozy, perfect for an overnight stay. I would very highly recommend this motel to anyone.
T. H.Perfect stopover - we didn't want to head too far off the highway - traveling through the far North Coast. Plantation Motel is only a minute off the main road.
This hotel is retro. If you love Radiator Springs, and Gnomeo & Juliet, Plantation Hotel will be your sort of spot . My kids loved the little things - admiring the old light switches, enjoying the balcony, and choosing games from John's collection. John is obviously proud of his hotel, and went out of his way to be the perfect host. We had parking RIGHT OUTSIDE our room. Beds were very comfortable, and there are facilities to put a simple b.y.o breakfast together.
There's also a grass tennis court to stretch your muscles, and police car from Batman to check out.

A super warm welcome even though we arrived quite late! The owner still walked us to our room switched the heater on and wished us a good night, felt like we had checked into a 5 star hotel!
Comfortable bed, clean bathroom with good shower pressure.
The old school look and feel of the motel is great! I’ll definitely stay here again :)
M. 4.The man who greeted us was exceptional! Came in late night after a long trip and he was welcoming and greeted us in the most polite and positive way, after we mentioned we were hungry he even offered to cook us a cold pizza which was amazing... told us loads of little trivia about the place and his show car! The motel was clean and the shower was amazing... definitely will be staying again on our next trip up

R. W.Motel and room were fine, a bit of a retro feel going on. But everything was clean and functional. The check in was smooth and John provided me with all the info I needed re options of where to obtain dinner nearby.
There is a little bit of traffic noise, but to be expected when staying next to the highway.

J. S.OMG, we love love love this motel. After driving past it for years on the way to Hunter Valley, we decided to stay there. So awesome. Such a convenient location, just off the main highway. We expected it to be noisy at night but it was really quiet.
John the owner was so accommodating, we turned up with an extra person (5 yr old) and he couldn't help us enough to get a bed for her. No extra charge.
The history of this place is so cool and although its old (1955), you have to take in the character and heritage, and realise, there are no other motels like this around with such history. Take it in and enjoy!
We will stay again! Thank you John for your incredible hospitality!!

The motel is VERY clean. It looks a bit old, which is charming. There are kangaroos and parrots around, really nice. The rooms are lovely, with everything you need and very comfortable beds! Usually we sleep until about 8am, but here we slept in until 11.30am because the beds are heaven. Hehe
The owners are great! So friendly and welcoming. And their cooking-skills are amazing! We'll definitely come back again if we get the chance!!

A. O.We pulled over late at night and found our trailer tires were in trouble... I called the motel and reception very kindly helped us out; gave us a room for the night and offered tools and help to remove the trailer tires in the morning so we could go get them fixed up. Very lovely and kind of them.
The beds are very comfortable, clean and well taken care of. Perfect for overnight or longer stays. I'd definitely recommend people stay here if they need a stop over!
R. b.We turned up after 8pm with our hungry children, needing a bed for the night as my husband wasn't well enough to continue our trip home to Brisbane. The manager was so accommodating and friendly and gave us a discounted rate on our room. The room was lovely and fit our family of 6 comfortably, fully air-conditioned and very comfy beds and lovely linen. He even supplied us with some pizzas and salad as there was nothing open close by and made us feel at home. I highly recommend the Plantation to anyone looking for accommodation in the Clarence Valley and would definitely stay here again.

c. F.We arrived to a friendly welcome. The room we stayed in was warm, comfortable and VERY clean. The owners were very helpful and thoughtful, they had even put a small cheese platter in the room (which had 3 types of cheese, fruit, nuts, biscuits and cold meat) just as part of their welcome. It was delicious and enough for 3. The sheets were crisp and smelt of softner. The beds were comfortable and had new matrasses. The towels were CLEAN and smelt fresh. I enjoyed my stay, it is next to a highway and so for those who cant take that sound it might be off-putting however, I slept like a log. A really good value for money stay.

S. H.The building has a whole lot of nostalgia I loved the old 70,s romantic stile to the front farsad of the motel with modern upgrades inside. Everything you would need to keep, even the most hard to please guest comfortable. Wheather it's for 1 night or a 1 month vacation if you're holidaying alone or with the whole family. Extra large guest lounge with huge TV screen for share movies or just to watch Netflix or to share with others a photo slideshow of your holiday about 30 different board games and indoor entertainment for you and the whole family on those rainy days. Nature walks and river close by fishing , boating , kayaking close at hand beaches are just minutes away brooms head and minnie waters just a half hours drive from the motel find world famous beaches such as Angorie point , spookies point, plus close and easy travel to Yamba's famous pippi beach great value for money. Great central location to explore and experience everything the Clarence Valley has to offer. Far enough away from the hustle and bustle of the three main townships and the city of Grafton. But close enough to not feel isolated. Perfect for the person who just wants to relax sit on the balcony overlooking the mighty Clarence river and just observe time go by, all the while feeling like your on the set of some 70's Hollywood movie.
A. J.This 3&half star Motel is just what you need for a good night's rest while you're on the road. It has very comfortable beds, has a shower/toilet/basen ensuite, bar fridge, microwave, toaster & kettle. All the basic's & always stocked up with tea & coffee. A pleasant stay!
