P. W.Rafferty’s was the location that we chose for our wedding in December 2021. The day was even better then we could have imagined and we felt that both the ceremony and reception were perfect. We had many positive comments on the location and venue, and everyone thought the food was absolutely delicious! Samantha, the event manager was excellent and easy to work with and made sure everything we wanted for our big day happened. Rafferty’s also has a number of beautiful locations for photos and we were very well looked after. The bistro also has amazing dinner and breakfast options! We will definitely recommend Rafferty’s to anyone looking for a wedding venue and accommodation for their guests.
J. L.Great location. Lots to do. My only complaint is we booked 3 units close together for a special family celebration. We had young kids and elderly people family and needed to be located close together. We went to a special effort with staff when booking to make sure we chose units located close to each other. The resort more recently booked a wedding and bumped our bookings, so we ended up located no where near eachother. This made it difficult to spend the family time together we had hoped at night, and limited time we could spend together, which was the whole point of the trip. Reservations being changed were a massive disappointment.

L. H.I stayed in one of the 2 bedroom townhouses on Fri 18 Sat 19 June. A very nicely decorated and comfortable house BUT there was a used cake of soap on the side of the bath so I think I can assume that the bathroom had not been cleaned. There was dried breakfast cereal on the downstairs rug so no vacuuming.
More disturbing was the obvious odour of alcohol coming from the manager? at 1.30 pm.

w. l.No wifi in the room, but you are here to relax...so internet detox is not a bad idea. The rooms are more like above 3.5 - 4 stars. But good enough for a relaxing few days.

A. C.Raffertys resort itself is a good place to stay. The accommodation is of a high standard however 1 of the restaurants isn't so good. My partner and I are at the lakehouse restaurant and we're extremely disappointed in the steaks we received. After telling the waiter about this he said he'd tell the chef and still charged us full price for meals we couldn't eat. Very disappointing
R. V.The house we stayed in was dated, clean and simple. Would definitely recommend this resort to stay for a short getaway. Bringing extra pillow cases and sanitising everything before use would be suggested.
Overall, the rooms were very nice, yet the pool that was open was quite the walk from our townhouse.
d. w.Everything is close, the lake, pools, cafes, boats and not far to the nearby beaches and shops. We really liked being able to laze hours away at the pools which except for one hot Sunday afternoon were calm. The lake side got a bit hectic, as did the main pool, but we were here in January school holidays. But even with that it was easy.
There are tennis courts and BBQs which make cooking easier. Our friends had a place just across the road with a valley view. Our villa was right in the middle with nothing to see but other residences. So get in early and check the map to book carefully.
Kitchens lack the simplest of condiment, and have a low number of cleaning sachets. Again our chalet had no oven and no dishwasher, or bath tubs. Our friends had all of these.
The onsite cafes are convenient and friendly, but the menus lack freshness.
All in all a really easy place to stay, just a little bit crowded.
T. B.Great value resort but showing signs of its age. Apart from that it has great facilities like multiple tennis courts and pools. Had a enjoyable holiday there and would recommend to anyone looking for a cheap holiday close to Sydney. ⭐⭐⭐⭐
B.We have been returning to this resort for well over 10 years. It is family friendly and we love it.
The Resort's Manager Stewart is very welcoming and caring person, he goes extra mile to look after the guests.
We will definetely come again.
J. B.This resort has everything a family getaway needs. Four swimming pools , tennis courts. A lakeside beach for the kids to play in. The cafe is open all day and Swansea is only 9 kms away. Lots to do in the local area.

BUT if you choose this place a friend got the room with loft. Very modern, spacious and amazing....
I. T.We had our wedding at Rafferty's in November 2019 and to say it was amazing is an understatement. Every single event coordinator we spoke to was amazing (huge shout out to Jess who was so helpful!), the service on the night was amazing and our event coordinator for the day really wanted to make sure our night was perfect. During the day we had so many guests commented on how on time the venue was with service, how delicious the food was, how polite the staff were and just how smoothly everything ran which is a true compliment to how amazing the venue is! If you need an all inclusive reasonably priced venue with accommodation on site I could not recommend Raffertys enough, it was amazing and the venue gives you so many photo opportunities!

B. H.Enjoyed a family dinner here on 28/12 which was fun. Food was great and service attentive and flexible (important when you have lots of kids in tow). I can't remember the name of the lady/supervisor who took care of us on this night (sorry) but a shout out to her in particular for making us feel welcome and relaxed.
H. C.The wedding I attended was well organised on Raffertys' side. The food was mostly delicious. Some meals might have benefited from stronger flavour, but otherwise the food was excellent. The venue was also very charming and looked lovely both in the day and at night. It seems like a very peaceful place and the pool and amenities were beautiful, as was the view of the water.
J. B.Went here for a friends wedding. The staff were professional, busily making sure that everyone was cared for in the bar and serving tables. Food was good and amazingly they were able to deliver meals to the guests in a short period of time. Great venue with majestic views of the lake and the grounds are a lovely place to stroll around in and just relax.

This resort feels like a little slice of Paradise and there's just so much to do at the resort or nearby - you will end up being torn between rest and relaxation or whether to make use of the many on-site activities or go off and explore! I will definitely be back...
V. H.Nice grounds to walk around by the lake and good choice of pools but the treetop terrace we stayed in was disappointing, run down and a bit dirty with creaking, slanting floors, a dusty/dirty dish towel, mugs, and cutlery, kettle with a broken lid, not all bed lamps worked, and we had dead cockroaches and spiders to welcome us (though I appreciate this is harder to control). Don't think we'll be coming back but

K. A.My favourite holiday getaway!! This resort has been revamped and is a must to visit. The lake is glorious, hire SUP'S, kayaks or boats. Two restaurants, four swimming pools (1 heated), 4 tennis courts, bbq facilities around the resort, fully self contained accommodation, ranging from terraces, lofts, cottages and houses. Beaches 3 minutes away!! Everything you need is here 💗

P.Fantastic place...although we were not satisfied with original unit we found staff to be very prompt in service in trying to accommodate our needs and even supporting our request to change units, although not possible first night it was worth changing as current unit is great! Facilities are very family friendly and in a beautiful location and the landscape of Raffertys resort is a 5 out of 5. Plenty of things to do for all ages and impressed with variety in what seems to be a secluded area. We are keen to check out some water activities with 2 more days here. Definitely worth purchasing with scoopon especially for our family of 6👍🏽

The location is spectacular, on the bank of lake Macquarie, just a short drive away from some incredible beaches. I visit here frequently with my kids and have never been disappointed. Very good resort.

K.Raffertys is a Beautiful location, service was less than impressive the restaurant was unavailable for both nights we stayed which we were not happy about as we wanted to stay within the resort and at time of booking were not informed of. The house was beautiful although you could not access the resort or pool, beach from the back of the property which was a little annoying.

B. J.Nice resort with tidy houses for the family. Perfect for a weekend getaway or longer. A few broken items and dusty areas for a full 5 stars but all in all a fantastic resort. We were in the area with children and looking at property and this place met all our needs and more.
R. P.Houses are great, kayaking, beautiful scenery. Downsides are it's quite noisy at night at weekends due to wedding reception guests walking around in the early hours shouting.... And the duck poo in the pool isn't great. Not a lot you can do about it I guess, but avoiding poo in bare feet was a challenge

T. M.I was amazed how extensive the resort was, with cabins set in a native bush setting and facilities in beautifully kept grounds. The rooms themselves were very good and its a beautiful area. After we unpacked the car I went looking for the frog in the room only to discover it was a noise coming from the fridge.
E. R.Great resort. Kids and I loved the pool area and generally a nice place to go to with family, function or just to stay atleast a couple of days. Accommodation was nice , clean and pleasant. Have been there 3 times and look forward to going again in future.
T. M.Conference facilities were adequate however we would have liked a wireless internet connection around the conference areas. Everything was clean and tidy in the apartment and in general maintenance of the resort. We stayed on a scoopon …
D. 4.Plenty for the kids to do staff friendly, excellent gardens and function rooms. Biggest fault was although a good design unit was in a bad need of a freshen up inside, it was clean but didn't feel like it because it was tired. Great lake views.
T. M.All the accommodation was within easy walking distance of all the amenities. I think we were upgraded to a deluxe terrace rather than standard and we were delighted. Definately not value for the money paid which is probably why they make you pay up front before giving you the key.
T. M.Had a great time and stayed for just long enough. Good value for money if using the scoopon voucher. Great effort by all the team and the staff should be commended all round. The highlight of the weekend was a dinner in the Emmelin room a function room adjoining Freddie's Tapas.
T. M.The guidance and direction to the location were provided and the property was a delight. Would thoroughly recommend the Thai restaurant near the conference rooms for a great evening meal. Very relaxing weekend surrounded by nice people. I just know that my family will love their stay at Rafferty's Resort as much as I did.

T. M.Villa no 24 needs some serious love. The resort staff were wonderfully helpful in organising the event and catering to our requirements and needs. The highlight of my trip was the massage by a guy named Andy. I would not hesitate to recommend this venue to any of my friends.
T. M.Good accommodation for a quick get away. The main pool is reasonably large but on the weekend we were there it was fairly quiet and the pool area was jam packed so during busy times I expect it would be like a circus. I found all the staff friendly and helpful.

Down side; the terrace in which I stayed is showing it's age. Marked walls, torn curtains, and a faulty air-conditioning control detracting from the experience.
L. H.We had some serious issues, we weren’t happy with the apartment we were staying in. However, during our stay, we raised these issues with management and much to their credit, they bent over backwards and did everything they could to make the rest of our stay wonderful, including changing apartment s and giving us a nice bottle of wine.
f.Rafferty’s Resort is an amazing family Resort right on Lake Macquarie. It’s just over an hour north of Sydney and about 30 minutes south of Newcastle. With swimming 4 swimming pools, 4 tennis courts, 2 restaurants and cafe, private jetty, boat hire, paddle board hire and more, there is so much to do or just just sit back and relax. Highly recommend this place! 5 Stars!

Liked · Good location on the shores of lake Macquarie. Facilities meet expectations - 4 swimming pools (3 closed due to Covid-19), 3 cafes (again 2 closed due to Covid-19), jettbuzz water sports, tennis courts.
Disliked · Cleanliness - definitely a big downside. The rooms, carpet, doors, curtains, windows etc were utter dirty despite reporting the issue nobody bothered to clean. Our little kid is sensitive to dust and was having issues because of the dusts. Truly disappointed.
Customer service - very poor. Especially the issue about cleanliness and the special request for baby cot ( we had to visit the reception multiple times to keep reminding them) Rooms - we stayed at a townhouse and was very poorly maintained. All the furnitures are old and rusty. The bathrooms doors and knobs are quirky and noisy. The carpets especially are old and dusty.
T. M.The hotel is located in a hidden beautiful spot in Cams wharf. As a family our priority is balance between adult relaxation and fun for the kids. The rooms are comfortable and as an insomniac I always have a good night sleep when there. The receptionist did log me on to Tomizone there at no charge.
R. S.Love the facilities, had a ball. There was definitely room for improvement regarding small things, like our cushion covers had stains, not a good look! Had trouble with Foxtel simply because no instructions on how to find it? Unable to access ensuite, bit weird really! As I said minor things, but notable! The food was the best, the service was fine, though there could have been some improvement there also. Look the end result for me is that I would definitely come back. In fact I look forward to it.

T. M.The ladies at reception was accomodating. Turned on the lights in the bedrooms to find the place inundated with cockroaches running all over the place. Unfortunately the restaurant closed after lunch on Sunday and was not open on Mondays, except during school holidays. The continental breakfast looked disgusting so we didn't bother.
T. M.Clearly a strategy to keep costs down off peak and have very limited staff on. We woke up and what we assumed was a mouse had eaten part of some fruit and left droppings in the kitchen. We travelled with friends and kept busy but all in all a very disappointing stay.
