Well looked after by the new owners with good rooms and fresh linen. The only drawback is the single communal shower and toilet. Complimentary light breakfast of cereal and tea or coffee was very welcome.

We stayed in the ensuite and it was great and reasonably priced. Lovely owners and managers - they were all very relaxed and accommodating (our 2 yo daughter was dining too). Dinner was fantastic. The bar is great, nice open fires. Beaut setting for a nice evening in. We had a lovely night - thank you Settlers Arms

Great atmosphere, especially enjoyed the record player at the bar and table games. Food was delicious and it came out fairly quickly. Decent serves, reasonable value. Menu was small but everything we had was great. Friendy service behind the bar and a good selection of tap beers, wines and spirits and reasonable prices. Would definitely visit again.

Accommodation in the three downstairs ensuite rooms with private lounge area was five star. Alan who signed us in was friendly and helpful. Dungog is a beautiful place to visit.

Nestled in the hills some 200km north of Sydney, is the town of Dungog.
It can get a bit chilly here in winter, so warm clothes are a definite.
For this trip we stayed at The Settlers Arms, a nice little pub at the edge of town. It was built in the mid-1800's, so don't expect Hilton style accommodation. The food is good. There are a number of offerings in town, but here seems to have the better reputation locally.
The room (double, shared facilities) has enough room for bags, moving around and the bed. There is a heater, but the bed is quite warm and comfy, so it wasn't needed. Only 3C in the morning, so not too bad.
The included breakfast consists of cereal, tea, coffee, toast & yogurt. If you ant anything else, bring it with you.
We will quite likely stay here again next visit.

The Settlers Arms where I stayed last night was brilliant full stop from The Arrival through the bar and later the comfort of the room made me feel very much at home. Full credit to the staff we met including Sophie the manager and Allen a senior executive.
Congratulations a very beautiful Hotel to stay in Dungog.

We found Dungog to be an unexpectedly attractive small town . And the Settlers Arms was probably the best choice we made for our overnight stay; warm atmosphere, pleasant staff, good food. Located off the main street, it was quiet. Not that Dungog high street is noisy.
The breakfast arrangements were a little disappointing; self-serve with not much selection. No staff around to check that we were managing OK.
We would stay there again, but probably have breakfast at one of the cafe's nearby. Which are good.

A very nice rural pub that is quietly situated in a "back" street. Tastefully renovated. A hidden gem! Lunch was delicious with some very well priced options. Our larger group (24 people) was served promptly and efficiently.

I arrived quite late on a Saturday night but it was no problem at all to Craig & Stephanie, I enjoyed their delicious Fish & Chips (I'd already read the reviews and it was recommended) the best Chardonay (thanks Craig) the room was very comfortable and had the best nights sleep. The breakfast was also included in the rate and was delicious. I would definitely stay here again. Thank you for your hospitality.

Very basic accommodation with no aircon in our room. If you don't like hot room, do not go there in summer time. Nice and clean and pretty basic for sleep over and move on type.

The mmeal was generous, & absolutely delicious. Steak perfect, was delighted to have found "fine dining" where I could take visiting friends. But.......it closed due to lack og local support. Hope it re-opens.

Settlers Arms is right at Dungog NSW and is axveryxquiet bar accommodation good for relaxing. Right across is the RSL to cool down for some drinks too .
It was just in summer so the place is a little too hot due to weather and bushfires happening all across NSW. The rooms are not airconditioned so its a little uncomfortable to sleep. Other than that we enjoyed our stay at the Settlers Arms. With WiFi available you are not out of touch. Although the area seems to have poor signal for any mobile cell phone towers.
There's a gym nearby, a fe good cafes and more especially there is a TinShed Brewery where you can grab a real good burger for a really affordable price. (From $10) and locally home brewed drinks!
