Loved Summer House 🤩 the hostel was always clean and the staff extremely friendly. Kitchen was super spacious and the TV Room area super comfy! The vibe around the hostel was always friendly and welcoming and can't recommend it enough to anyone planning a trip to Sydney

I stayed in the hostel earlier this year. I booked for 2 nights but I stayed a few weeks there. The female room is big and very comfortable, enough room for our big suitcases 😅 There is a nice garden with a bbq and on Sundays they prepare yummy pancakes for breakfast. Nice vibes!

We had a very pleasant surprise with the hostel. Very good quality for a cheap price! The staff is very friendly and they put a lot of effort to clean the common areas as well as the rooms (several times a day!!). Very clean in the end, nice people, also great location in Sydney. Would go back!

Stayed here for two nights. The atmosphere was very good and the hostel was clean. The rooms were a little bit too small for 8 beds but was alright for a short stay. The bathrooms were alright even though there was barely pressure in the shower and it took forever to rinse off my shampoo. The location is perfect, very close to all main attractions!

Fair hostel, but needs to have fewer guests. There is not enough space for guests to mingle or actual events planned kn site to socialize and get to know others. Rooms are small and cramped. No A/C unless a fan is considered that. Other guests that have more experience said it was not that great of a hostel, but it does the basics. Showers had little pressure and water temperature constantly changed during the shower. Stairs were not safe or felt sturdy to climb up. Courtyard was nice, but closed before 10 every night, which is where laundry was too. Staff could be friendly to new faces and introduce them to people and show them around the hostel, maybe check the room to make sure it is ok for the guest. Location was fine to walk to places. Found better stays in CBD after this stay though.

Reception service and especially managers are great and super helpful! They really care about the hostel and keep it clean all the time. Loved the courtyard and the big kitchen! Hostel needs a bit of an upgrade however really enjoyed my stay and can recommenced it!

Really good hostel. There max stay (28 days) policy is great. Lots of people who only just arrived in Sydney or Australia in general. Therefore it was one of the easiest hostels to get social and meet new people with there own stories. Would definitely go there again.

Amazing hostel! They do their best to keep everything clean at all times and everyone is super friendly. Anna and Anna are probably the best managers I’ve ever met! Free wifi, free breakfast and a free bbq on Fridays as well! Met some of my best friends through this hostel. Would definitely recommend staying there!

Good location, friendly stuff but it's hot in the rooms and it's not very clean The location of the hostel is very good. It's in Kings Cross. Natalia from the reception was very friendly. It's a five minutes walk to a shopping center and to the Kings Cross station. I read all the good reviews and I was thinking that hostel is clean. But it isn't. My room was very dirty when I checked in. I told it to the reception and the next day the cleaned all the rooms. The facilities are not very clean but also not very dirty, it's average. The sleep quality was average because it was too hot in my room. The bed was very comfortable. What I didn't like was the free breakfast. It's not really a breakfast. The have the cheapest toast and a few bottles of jam. No butter! When I see on bookingpage that there is a breakfast I expect something else. I will report that to the booking company. I booked one week and I would not go back to this hostel.

Hostel is full of people, who are staying long term in Sydney, the atmosphere is good. The rooms are tiny, but okay. I didn't like the bathrooms, which are a bit dirty and small as well. And it is a party hostel. At 9:45 PM they close the outside area, which brings the party inside....it is loud.

A-M-A-Z-I-N-G! Booked for one night and ended up staying for a month. Staff was super helpful and the atmosphere was just so good that I couldn't leave. The hostel is clean and they do different events and free breakkie every day. Can't wait to go back!

Favourite hostel in Sydney! Compare to other hostels Summer House is sparkling clean. Pancakes on Sunday are made by the owner, super delicious. Good fun and friendly staff

Stayed over 5 months in total. Great hostel with tonnes of good people. Good for working and for short term party. Just don't whine about the long termers not being friendly if you don't actually engage with any.

All of the facilities were a bit limited. Bathrooms never available, tiny kitchen, no wear to sit in lounge or tv room but expected for the price. Easy stay for the price but wouldn’t go long term here.

We stayed here for two nights, staff were helpful and for the price it's a good night's sleep. The facilities could do with a bit of tlc though, with half of the inner shower door missing and one if the toilet doors not locking. The kitchen gets crazy messy too but that's at the fault of the customers.

Had such a great time in the summer house backpackers! Nice and friendly staff, good vibe and cool people. As it is not as big as Base or Nomads, you get to know people easily. Rooms, kitchen and all other areas were always clean. Also, there are fun activities every evening such as free BBQ and burgers, pubcrawls etcetera. Love this place!

Summer House Sydney is just great! Very clean hostel, staff is amazing and always helpful! Timbos pancakes on a Sunday are so yum, definitely a reason to wake up early haha!

Can be a bit loud in the courtyard and more then a few people where drunk when I arrived but the room was clean and washrooms were neat. Reception does close at 8pm, which i was not aware of before getting to the location. After 8 you need to call the number on their door to be let in and i found that you may have to wait as the night manager may not be there to pick up right away.

A good hostel, liked the private sink in the four-man room. The lockers were big enough for my massive suitcase, and the communal spaces were amicable enough.

Friendly staff, clean rooms and bathrooms. You get free breakfast there, nothing too fancy, but hey it's free :) Location is very good: it's a 5 min walk to the next shopping centre (Woolies and Coles) and to Kings Cross station. Good choice!

Best hostel in Sydney! Mark my words! After arriving in Sydney after travelling Asia for 5 months I was worried Sydney will destroy my budget. But when I found Summer House Backpackers it put my mind at ease. This is a very affordable hostel in a prime location wih free breakfast and free Wifi. The interior and exterior is awesome. Justin Bieber made this place famous by posting a picture on his instagram of the outside wall. Staff are super friendly and the owners Nate and Ady are awesome. All in all one of the best hostels I've stayed in Sydney.

What you'd expect for $20 a night. Staff is nice enough but started vacuuming at 6:30 in the morning and you can hear any noise throughout the entire hostel.

There are many people who cook their own food, so the kitchen is crowded. People who care about their health go to the TV room because they smell like cigarettes. As the smokers move under the roof on a rainy day, the kitchen will be full of smoke. It was complete from 12 room to 4 room, but 12 room was the most spacious and smelly. Luggage was scattered on the floor in every room. It's a shame that the staff is sticking a note. I always put my luggage in front of my locker ... Die Küche ist auch größtenteils sauber, nur manchmal sieht man eben Kakerlaken im zimmer oder draußen aber das ist in Sydney nicht vermeidbar, egal in welchem Hostel. Hier ist es noch am geringsten.
