K.staff are extremely friendly and helpful. relatively clean for a hostel! i was staying in a 6 dorm girls room and the girls were nice. it can get a pretty messy in the room though but it didnt bother me since i was only staying a couple nights. location is amazing!! right on the beach! you can go to the rooftop for a nice view! would def stay there again!!

F. F.Awesome place with the kindest people! Very clean hallways, toilets and kitchen. The rooftop is unique and you can feel the beach and surfers atmosphere in every corner of the hostel. It has an awesome view as it is right in front of the beach. I can't wait to come back. I hope everyone could be received as I was.

It is small enough that it is easy to socialise with new people, but large enough that there are several places to hang out (kitchen, reception/lounge, rooftop overlooking the beach). The location is ideal, as is the staff. In particular, Freddie and Mia were friendly and knowledgeable, and their personalities contributed positively to the environment.
J. D. L.We arrived for a last-minute booking and they quickly arranged a private room for the 3 of us. As it was not ready they let us use the storage room to keep our stuff.
The room is comfortable and quiet, wifi and air-conditioning function perfectly.
Bathrooms are clean and there are enough toilets and showers on each floor.
There's a big kitchen with lots of utensils and fridges where guests store their food and also a dining room which could be larger but it's comfortable anyway and a nice place to share a meal.
There's a beautiful rooftop where you can enjoy the view of Bondi beach and also chill out. One nice thing about this hostel is that they organize activities for every day of the week so there's always something to do!
Something to highlight is that everything was sparkling clean and spotless. Even though there are a lot of people it's a very quiet place.
Another important thing to mention is that one of the girls of my group once needed to call travel assistance and the hostel staff did not hesitate to lend us a phone to call them since our phones only had internet and we couldn't make calls. We had had a terrible experience in Thailand when the members of the staff of Ibiza House didn't let us use their phone and we had a friend who literally couldn't walk out of the room on her own. This shows how caring the staff of wake up Bondi are!
We enjoyed our stay and we would definitely recommend it and come back!
C. T.Really good hostel. First time I had stayed in a hostel and exceeded my expectations. Was much better than subsequent hostels I stayed at. The staff were very friendly and enthusiastic to organise events. I stayed there two nights and managed to take advantage of a free group PT session and a free cheese and wine evening. It would be great if there was a room option with an ensuite but the place is still nice. The concierge office downstairs were also very helpful in booking a surfing lesson for me. Although if you already know how to surf the hostel can provide surf boards for free. There's a rooftop is well which has a nice view of the beach. Great location right in Bondi beach. Would love to come again.

Just a few things: think it’s crazy that the cleaners would be cleaning and hoovering at 8.30am on a Saturday... super inconsiderate and something ive never experienced at a hostel before.
Also the fact that the bathrooms were closed for cleaning at 9am just before check out didn’t make sense... amazing that the place is so clean, but all of the above meant we didn’t get a great nights sleep and checkout was stressful.
E. T.Me and my boyfriend stayed at WU Bondi on our first week in Australia and it was absolutely amazing. The private room we stayed in was clean and perfect for what we needed. The bathrooms were a perfect size to accommodate everyone in the hostel. The location was absolutely perfect - right by the beach and right in the city surrounded by everything you need. The best part for us though was the staff and entertainment every night. There were organised hostel events every night which gave us the opportunity to make new friends thanks to Freddie!! Freddie was the host of the night events and he made our time there absolutely unforgettable. He ensured we had a good night every night of our stay. Highly recommend staying at this hostel!
R. V.I haven't gone into a hostel before and It was my first time here in a hostel. What an amazing experience. First of all, all the hostel is completely clean, including the rooms, halls, bathrooms, kitchen, etc. The staff is very friendly, they're always there to help you or if you need an extra hand.
They've got funny activities during the week and some free activities as well.
Also, it is an affordable place and you get everything. Beds are very comfortable and even your roommates are gonna be friendly.
Have no doubt that if one day I wanna go back to Sydney I will definitely go back here.
T. K.Definitely stay here, you'll love it! I'm on a working holiday visa and chose to start my trip at Wake Up! Bondi Beach. The location is absolutely incredible!!! The beach is literally across the street and you have an awesome view of it looking out from the rooftop patio. The hostel has daily activities: I arrived on a Wednesday so there was a wine and cheese on the rooftop patio which was the perfect opportunity to meet other backpackers! The hostel was recently renovated so everything feels brand new and the staff keep the place spotlessly clean. I recommend booking early because this place fills up quickly. Many people I met at the hostel were so happy here they wanted to extend their stay (bear in mind you may have to move rooms if you don't book all at once) and some people had to stay at another hostel for a night or two until they could get another room at Wake Up. There is kitchen to cook in and a Woolworths grocery store close by. Also lots of shops/restaurants. Wake Up has another location in downtown Sydney but everyone I spoke with at Wake Up Bondi said they much preferred the Bondi location. Bondi has a great vibe with tons of backpackers. I also recommend the travel agency in the lobby where I booked an awesome trip!
C. S.This is the best hostel in Bondi. It is clean and comfortable. The kitchen is well kept and you can actually cook in it unlike most other hostels here. The beds are nice and the rooftop is a huge plus.
Freddy who does events is a legend. He made the stay much more enjoyable as he is full of positive energy and makes everyone have a great time. I definitely recommend staying at this hostel when you come to bondi beach!
H. M.Absolutely loved this place and did not want to leave. This was the first hostel I've ever stayed in and I came in kind of scared, and the whole experience was absolutely amazing. The staff is cool, the other travelers are all amazing, there are events all the time to help people meet each other. The bathrooms and showers were always clean, the rooms nice. I liked the kitchen too--plenty big and with pretty much any cooking device you may require. The communal area was great and so much fun. People played instruments and sang, charged phones, just hung out. There's also a washer and dryer which I didn't use but heard was good. I didn't even want to leave, I made myself go to explore more than just Bondi. 10/10 would go back.
O. G.Very nice hostel. Excellent location. First line to Bondi beach. Great atmosphere, the staff was very accommodating and helpful in everything that was needed. At the moment they are undergoing renovations on the first floor, so the laundry service and the cooking kitchen do not work. They serve a complimentary breakfast.

Like most hostels the kitchen feels small for the amount of people that are there but if you find your way around pick times it's totally fine.

Nicely kept bathrooms, big rooms, decent beds, nice charging ports combined with your light, friendly staff etc. Only downside for me was a slightly small kitchen (but totally manageable if you go at the right time), and the inability to control your own room temp. Other than those two slightly small things, I really enjoyed my time here and would recommend it for anyone!

It's directly across from the beach and the rooftop has an incredible view over Bondi. The hostel offers yoga and PT sessions during the week as well as lots of evening events so that guests can get to know eachother. Loved staying here and would love to come back and stay at Bondi Backpackers once again :)

P. W.Good hostel located directly at Bondi Beach, some of the rooms can be quite smelly, between the windows and the next house is just 1,5m space, so there is not much air coming into the room. Despite this the hostel has a good and very clean kitchen and TV room. The bathrooms are sometimes a little bit dirty, but okay.

E. G.One of the better hostels around! I have stayed in some pretty shanky hostels before but this was not one of them. Had amazing views of Bondi beach and having 5 other friends with me at the time meant we had our own room. Everything is very safe and secure, only downside is the dirty showers and bathrooms but I wasn't expecting any miracles. Staff were friendly and helpful and suggested some cool ideas for things to do. If you're driving your car be ready for some hefty parking prices in the locked carpark two blocks down.

Was a little anxious before my first solo travels, but this place sure enough provides group friendly activities that engage everyone with each other (bbq, yoga, trivia, wine n cheese night, to name a few!)
Felt at home straightaway, very friendly + helpful staff and fellow guests, modern clean beachy feel inside, best view of the ocean from rooftop/reception.
Dependable wifi throughout the building and of course great location.
I can’t help but compare other hostels I’ve stayed in to this one... Bondi Backpackers has set the bar pretty high! Would be stoked to stay again

G. R.Your typical lame run of the mill UK-i-have-come-to-aussieland-to-drink-myself-fricken-stupid kinda clientele. Which I don't think you can really escape in Sydney... So if you are a UK backpacker come on downnn... This is a place you can drink yourself to oblivion with all of your other UK buddies.
Anyway the hostel. Right, this place is currently deep in construction which means it is noisy AF between the times of 7am to 5pm. I wouldn't recommend staying at the hostel during renovations. Heaps of other similar places you could stay.
The rooms, basic normal hostel rooms, nothing really special about them. I stayed in a 3 person room which is actually a decent size considering location and the fact this is a backpackers. Two powerpoints which was a bonus. Beds were comfy. The location is what makes this place good. You can literally roll outta bed and across the road to Bondi beach. That's why you stay.
The hostel runs activities that people actually show up for. So get amongst those. The yoga was the most random yoga I have ever been to, taken by a pt-esq type guy who had clearly been to only a handful of yoga classes in his life. I was assured by staff that he was a fill in and that the other teachers were more "yoga-esq." Sadly the other yoga class was cancelled due to rain but anyway regardless I probably still would give it a shot.

Overall well organised hostel, average usual hostel things, nice staff, good location but I wouldn't stay over the next couple of months while they build annnnndd I would look at a place that doesn't foster and enable the weird UK backpacker culture. Unless of course you are from the UK in which case rock on.

제가 묵은 호스텔 중에 가장 좋았어요!
2인실 썼는데 에어컨도 있고 침대도 폭신하고 이층침대 삐걱거리는 소리도 적어요. 바다에서 놀고 바로 화장실 가서 씻고 방에 들어갈 수 있어서 진짜 편했어요 ㅎㅎ 청소도 수시로 하는지 화장실, 복도 다 깨끗해요.
그리고 무엇보다 주방에 조리기구와 식기가 너무 잘 갖춰져 있어서 잘 활용하시면 좋을 것 같아요!
