The jungle hot chocolate was very well done, I could taste the lime and the smoke flavour, definitely a very classy Michelin-hat style item. The brownie was a bit dry, so I would highly recommend having the chocolate melt to pour over it before eating. Service was quick and very friendly. Thanks for the great experience!

Always a great place to buy that box of something special for your someone special. It’s not cheap but is quite the purchasing (and tasting) experience. There is so much variety here that it’s almost overwhelming. Staff are very helpful with packaging up your goods, particularly if you’re taking your goods overseas. I came here for Easter to pick myself out a special dark chocolate bunny. Taste was fabulous. Wheelchair friendly. Kid friendly.

Total 9.90 AUD. 1 box consists of 6 pc of dark negroni ganache marbles coated in 54% dark chocolate, infused with orange zest, bitter citrus liqueur. The wide variety of gourmet chocolates displayed look mouth watering when we entered. The staff were super nice and friendly especially Parker that helped us, the chocolates he recommended were absolutely fantastic. He definitely knows the chocolates very well. They gave customers sampling prior purchase too. There was a mini cafe at the side where you can enjoy some cakes and drinks. Simply happy and enjoyable place to hang around. If you like chocolate, this is a good place to go.

Heard it’s the best chocolate shop in the town. It’s in the city center and they not only sell chocolate with milk bust also chocolate with soy milk. The gallery, royal arcade, it’s located is full of all kinds of shops from jewelry stores to clothes store. Koko black itself in order to maintain its quality it refuses to make the brand into chained, which is a good thing for all the chocolate lovers from all the world to have a exclusive taste of the original flavor. And the time when I was there they even got a trolley which sold chocolate ice cream outside the shop besides the outdoor seats. But the ice cream trolley closed earlier than the shop.

A lovely place to stop and enjoy the gorgeous Royal Arcade which runs between the Bourke Street Mall and Little Collins Street. We sat upstairs in the Lounge which is cosy and comfortable and great for people watching if you sit near a window. Great service and delicious, reasonably priced food and drinks.

The best ice chocolate ($9) I had. For chocolates, the salted caramel is a must try at $2.50 per piece. There are seatings upstairs as well.

The staff were absolutely amazing, so welcoming. Service was super quick - I had barely sat down and my drink was ready for me (I went in at about 9:15-9:20). They had the best customer service I've ever experienced, and it was incredible. Definitely visit if you can. (FYI - I had the classic iced chocolate 👌).

We visited Koko Black for lunch the other day and really enjoyed it. The cafe is conveniently located in the heart of the CBD and is a lovely spot to enjoy a coffee. My friend had the baguette which he enjoyed although it was too crunchy and a struggle to eat. The portion size was good though. I had the ham and cheese croissant which was fresh and tasty. We also had the iced chocolate and strawberry iced tea which was lovely and refreshing on a hot Summer's day. Will be back for sure to try more of their sweet dishes.

I usually go to Haigh's but the one on Swanston was closed. I got a small pack of Dottie's . I love dark choc even though this is only 54percrnt it isquite intense. They do not have higher percentages of dark choc ,you would thknk a choclatier would have darker version but yeah . They do have a good selection of coated nuts , bars etc while not blown away it is great. Lady at the counter was very genuine a rarity in retail not having a forced convo or trying too hard to upsell so kudos. I have small piece of chocolate for desert and this did the job

Unfortunately in recent times the venue, service, and quality has digressed. You used to be able to enjoy the view of watching the chocolatiers at work, making the chocolates, and the kitchen was full with workers, now no longer. Instead, a small kitchen, one 'barista', and very little quality of service. Everything is made away from site. It is a shame. Won't be back again. Sorry Koko Black, but you need to put more effort into the quality of service if you charge high prices, and pretend to be something special.

Have been going here for many years to buy selections of their individual chocolates as gifts. The chocolate selection process and how they are laid out in front of you in cabinet, and the banter with friendly staff about the many flavours and choices on hand is a great retail customer experience. Not cheap, but wife has never complained.

I found their dark hot chocolate to be sweeter than expected. It supposed to be 55% cocoa but i would have preferred less sugar. Its also very thick so you can only really drink it on an empty stomach and in cooler months too. Regardless they have a nice atmosphere to their cafe and you can sit down and rest from nearby shopping without too much interruptions. They also sell a large collection of hand made chocolates however i did not try these.

Koko Black desserts and pralines are very good but I feel the service is hit and miss and unfortunately lets them down. I recently visited the Royal Arcade store with a friend, the staff on the ground floor told us that upstairs was full but once we got upstairs after only one person leaving, half the floor was empty. At the Doncaster store, we often get dirty spoons or cups and they seem understaffed - wait times for just a hot chocolate have been very long (we no longer go there because of these reasons). It's a shame because some of their products are delicious, service needs to improve.

Perfect place for a catch up with friends. Staff are incredibly nice, and extremely knowledgeable about every chocolate on the menu. All of the hot and cold drinks that I've had here (quite a few) are just scrumptious. Obviously you pay a premium to be seated in one of the most beautiful arcades in Melbourne, the hot chocolates go for around $7, but a pressed pastrami sandwich is only $9, so it evens out if you're having a light lunch with your drink treat.

Yes they do make the best hot chocolate in town, and sell grated chocolate packaged for takeaway to make it at home. I have to admit to NOT being a chocoholic but the quality here is very tempting. And it is one of the few places that makes liqueur cherries in dark chocolate (which I will admit an occasional weakness for).

Anyway I bought a box of 6 and paid by card only to realize later that I was charged for two boxes instead of one. Proceeded to contact them on Facebook and the Facebook team was quick to respond and refunded me within days - thank you for such good service!
