Comments of Bodalla Dairy
i.
I had a very tasty thick shake here! The customer service was really friendly and the shop itself is spacious and sweet. Will need to come back and try their cheese.
Definitely worth a stop!
T. H.
Great stop if passing through on the Princess highway.
Fresh dairy products from sweet milkshakes and ice cream to savoury cheeses.
Tasting available. Nice seating areas.
Bottle feeding calves at times too.
T. H.
Delicious local dairy produce such as cheese, ice cream, flavoured and unflavoured milk, eggs, etc. Hot/cold drink and food are available for takeaway. Possible queue during peak hours. A great stop-over option.
B. S.
Best milk I’ve ever tasted. Remember to try their ice creams, and cheese in different flavours. They also have sheep, cows and chooks at the back. It can get busier on 10am and 4pm when they are feeding them. If you get the chance, you may stay at their spacious guest rooms. Come out for a walk in town after dinner but before dark. Empty street but characteristic buildings, it’s a lovely feeling!
C. B.
If you are within 30 min driving range, it's a good place to visit. I wouldn't bother driving more than 30 min to go there. Ice cream flavours are certainly something to try here!
G. Z.
Kids loved feeding the calves, and all at no cost. Great life size art out front to climb over.
Milkshakes, ice cream and cheese tasting are all fantastic
H. C.
This is must visit place if you are passing. Every product is super fresh and nice and yummy! We were so lucky to be able to try calf milk feeding and see many hens and a rooster with a beautiful colour.
R. M.
Bodalla Dairy Shed has a variety of activities for everyone; there is Cheese Tasting, there are farm animals and a dairy shop with drinks and food. It a very nice to sit and eat while enjoying the animals and view. The staff are friendly and the food is made fresh and is a must-visit place on the south coast.
R. W.
Nice dairy products are made here.
Golden melt is a must try with their homemade sauce.
You may want to bring a picnic blanket to enjoy.
L. C.
Absolute gem of the South Coast. It’s a place you must stop at. Visited here 3 times during our holiday. Best caramel milkshake ever and the ice cream is the best too, especially the peanut butter and Bodalla milk and honey. Cheese tasting is great and the 3 cheese toastie was fantastic. I can’t wait to come here again
J. M.
This is the place to enjoy top fantastic yummy ice cream, wide variety of flavours from the unique to the traditional, family also say the thick shacks and milk shakes are great to. For me it is all about the I've cream.
P. N.
Nice place, amazing choice of ice-creams including bushland tastes you won't find elsewhere. Area is nicely kept. Staff is helpful and knowledgeable. There are several parking areas to choose from. Oh, and coffee is good!
G. B.
5*... you have to stop here if you're in the area. The thickshake is the best I've had in Australia. The three cheese toasty is also to die for. Cant wait to come back
Update....we cooked up their smoked halloumi when we got home...5* all round! Wish they sold it commercially!
S. O.
Cheese and milk were amazing, missed the calf feeding time. Will make sure we come back for that. Great to see the staff smiling and happy to help us tourist.
D. A.
Great place to stop for a milkshake! Fresh milk and a good variety of flavours and icecreams! Cheese is good as well!
K. C.
Bodalla is a relaxing family friendly place to visit. Fed the calves, yummu milkshakes and cheeses. Lovely staff at the dairy and Bodalla bakery.
J. T.
This place offers cheese tasting, we liked their Tasmanian pepperberry and chilli and wattleseed cheddar! Not to forget their ice cream, so creamy! You could find interesting flavours there. Great customer service, felt welcoming. A nice place to stop by during coast trip.
S. F. (.
Delicious ice creams, cheeses and milk! The highly recommend the visits and trying the exotic icecream flavours!
M. R.
Stopped here on our way to Eden. Nice spot to have lunch and enjoy the surroundings. Good pies and coffee. Chickens and calf's gives about gives this place a nice touch and great for kids to enjoy.
J. L.
Nice place. Was expecting a bigger range of cheeses and goodies to buy. Staff were lovely.
S. R.
Great range of products with superb customer service. The unique icecream flavours are out of this world.
H. D.
Customer service was ok albeit a bit slow
Stopped in twice ..
1st time coffee was great
2nd time I ordered a flat white and got hot cup of milk.. so unfortunately it's a bit hit and miss
s. t.
Thank you for the Delicious breakfast of toasty and chunky meat and caramelised onion pie. Produce purchases an added bonus
T. S.
Excellent icecream and thickshakes. Yet to try the cheeses but I'm sure they are good!!
K. C.
Dec-21: so busy this year. Be prepared for a bit of a wait during the school holidays. The ice creams are still excellent and we got more of the 3 year vintage. They didn't have the "cheese ends" this year, so I guess w will have to come back.
Dec-20: I've always loved the Bodalla dairy. The ice cream and milkshakes are always very popular and are amongst the best. My favourite part of the dairy is actually the cheeses... I really enjoyed the three year vintage. We will be stopping by for more cheeses on the way back to Sydney. There are also alpacas, a goat and chickens behind the dairy.
Went back a few days later for the ice creams. Omg they are amazing!
R. F.
Incredible ice cream , milkshakes, cheeses and snacks ; there is even free roaming chickens wandering around the grounds ; a must do stop on the South Coast.
S. A.
We had a ice cream. It was nice. Place is so cute.
R. C.
Delicious full cream milk and the best flavoured Milks I've ever tasted 😁
Z. K.
The most creamy ice cream on the south coast! Friendly service and a great aesthetic.
W. A.
The full ice cream in summer bliss out. Good range of flavours.
S. T.
Her eyes are so beautifully blue, as I gaze out to the sea, they still sparkle in my mind. The cheese looks great
B. R.
2nd time back.... and was good as the first..
Everything was perfect... milkshake especially!!! Cheese is awesome also..
G. R.
The service was very slow. A bit on the expensive side. Cheese was nice.
J. M.
The service was friendly, food and coffee was good, ice cream was yummy, a must stop if travelling through.
S. H.
Staff are super friendly here, and the ice cream is TOP quality. Definitely worth a stop on your road trip
B. C.
A long wait for just ice cream. Its nothing special. Kids enjoyed the animals out the back better
S. F.
Everyone talks about the cheese and the ice creams - which are fantastic, but do not miss out on the humble chocolate hazelnut cake. Absolutely delicious. Great place, lovely staff, amazing ambience. Plenty of parking at the side
H. T.
Loved the lemon myrtle cheese and ice cream! Great outdoor seating.
C. H.
Kids love the animals, great coffee, milkshakes and food
K. L.
Great pies and icecream, but more importantly, dogs are welcome outside.
N. V.
Great place to visit. Great range of local icecreams and cheeses to buy
D. D.
Brilliant place, incredible staff, amazing products, Cheese / icecreams/ coffees. Couldn't fault it.
L. C.
Best milkshake ever. Great outdoor sitting area
M. W.
Had a great time here, tried several types of cheese , had some amazing meat pies for lunch with a glass of fresh milk.
Watched the cheeses getting packed thru the windows then went back inside tried different ice creams... Had 3 scoops... yum yum..... lots of character inside.
G. M.
Delicious cheese and ice cream. Various flavours of both including the subtle lemon myrtle cheese - a must!
Provides cheese tasting and kids can help feed the calves twice a day.
There is small gifts and local honey to purchase.
S. D.
Milk Shake was to my liking - been there Sydney Drive com
J. T.
This place offers cheese tasting, we liked their Tasmanian pepperberry and chilli and wattleseed cheddar! Not to forget their ice cream, so creamy! You could find interesting flavours there. Great customer service, felt welcoming. A nice place to stop by during coast trip.

D. C.
Great little spot to stop with the kids.
R. S.

G. E.

A. P.
Must visit...some of the best milkshakes and ice-cream ever...
k. w.
I milked a calf for the first time. Iy was a great experience for me and my group johnny h.
Y. O.
Love this place! We did cheese tasting, all cheese are amazing. We also had lunch, ice cream and coffee. Cheese melt toast was tasty. They have a quite big dining balcony area behind the room.
K. S.
Who knew they gave awards for milk!! This place had the creamiest smoothies. We had the caranlmel and note that you may need to stir quite Abit as both our shakes were uneven. However, past this there were no faults. There was an array of ice creams that filled the room with their aromas. This place even has cow feedings at 4pm and 10am (I think?) - another great stopover spot.
D. D.
Stopped to buy some of the areas finest cheese. Nice selection of cheeses. Some souvenirs were available but was a little disappointed there were no souvenir pins to purchase. Location was clean and the staff were friendly and helpful. Plenty of parking around the area.
A. S.
The dairy component was understandably good!
Ice cream and cone was delicious although on the smaller side. Thinkshake flavouring was average which ruins the overall thick shake. Generic stuff you can get anywhere. One staff was super standoffish and not very helpful.
Cute place to stop on the way south. Get the ice cream! Looks like you can feed the calf at the back too
T. C.
Lovely covered outdoor area out the back, great ice cream, great cheeses, great thickshakes.
One thing I thought was potentially lacking was the ability to have a cheese platter at the venue itself instead of just buying takeaway cheeses. This could be accompanied by various olives and Crackers.
My apologies if this is already available - I did not see it on the menus
D. M.
Great place to stay. Country pub across rd. Staff super friendly
S. H.
Great place for a quick and delicious coffee and ice cream stop. Sit and relax in their backyard terrace overlooking a beautiful forest view and enjoying the alpacas, goat and cows
R. F.
Make sure to make a stop.Try the cheese and yoghurt. Ice cream is a must.
S. G.
Got there at 9.45 for a 10am cow feeding they finally came out at 10.20 after asking. Coffee was great. $17.80 for 1lt of ice cream is crazy but someone must be buying it. Just not me.
E. F.
A nice range of artisan cheeses. The helpful staff are keen to offer a taste test before purchasing. You can see the cheese being made through the windows of the cheese factory next door.
They also have a great range of icecreams, but the cheeses were enough for us.
p. p.
Great icecream nice place to sit out the back
S.
Great cheeses and yummy ice cream. Free tasting available, Covid19 safe.
M. C.
Nice Icecream but don't like how we were treated
M. M.
Wow! Great place with ice cream to die for😎.
S. T.
Great place to stop over for some cheese or ice cream. Tasting. Great way to support the local business by buying local cheeses, honey etc. I had a cup of coffee and also we tried the chicken mushrooms pie and the Angus beef pie. Very satisfying meal see you next time 😴
N. H.
Great little spot. Wonderful cheese and milkshakes. Staff were accommodating.
Was a little disappointed that the offer they had online wasn't still a thing but prices are reasonable so wasn't put off!
E. C.
Lovely setting. Cheese was delicious! We came for the animal feeding but unfortunately the calves were too young to be brought out of their yard so we were unable to see or help with the feeding process. If you're coming specifically for the feeding, maybe call ahead first to make sure it's happening.
K. L.
Wow wow wow
We like all the ice cream here!
We just want an ice cream and drove 40mins for it.
It worth!
We all like their limited time ice cream let's go diving!
We tried six flavour of their ice cream, all of them have a common thing. They are full of layer of taste.
When U eat supermarket ice cream they can only give U a single flavour that you expected. But the ice cream here can provide two to three layers of taste.
We tried
Let's go diving
Let's go camping
Go wild
Kakadu plum
Berry cheesecake
Peanut butter
Highly recommended!
R. B.
Good to see this place still making cheese on site. Was interesting to watch the process. Purchased a few pieces of different flavoured cheeses with the added ingredients of native bush foods such as wattle seed, pepperberry and lemon myrtle.
I. T.
Such a busy place but plenty of staff to help you. Beautiful icecream, you can even sample some before you buy any! And they even have little cups for the kids so you don't end up with a mess! I had the lemon myrtle icecream...so yummy.
R. S.
Lovely selection of cheeses and ice cream
M. S.
Very nice milkshake after a day at the beach
S. H.
Great dairy products, good ice cream.
L. R. K.
It was good to be reminded how real milk tastes like ♥
I. T.
Always love their icecreams. Can't drive past lol. I had the coffee and wattleseed and it was beautiful. At the rear of the property, there is this amazing wood carving of an eagle and a lovely view over the valley. Worth exploring.
A. “. b.
Lovely spot to stop and have some cheese tastings. Delicious icecreams and live music of you're lucky. I always recommend Bodalla Dairy it for anyone driving though the area.
k. w.
Lovely cheese selection and service from the older staff. My only disappointment was that the younger staff preferred their own conversation over giving good customer service.
W. M.
Disappointed with this visit. We have always stopped here on our way to Narooma. Must admit it’s been awhile since COVID. I find drinking out of paper cup when eating in very disappointing. Service was slow and you there is no table service yet the prices aren’t takeaway prices. Apart from that, great.view. Decided we won’t stop here again., we’ll try somewhere new.
F. B.
Great range of cheese and got to taste them all. Flavoured milk was delicious. Super friendly staff.
J. K.
Excellent cheeses and ice creams!
Amazingly delicious toasties and thickshakes! Omg!
My partner ordered a banana thickshake with added espresso and it was outrageously good! Seriously has to be the best thickshake either of us have ever had, I will never be able to drive past here without stopping for one!
The ham cheese and tomato toastie with garlic butter is highly recommended also
Bodalla dairy is one hell of a top spot to stop for a snack or several 😋👍
J. S.
Super delicious ice cream, and every time some new flavours to discover. We always stop on our way to and from the coast.
K.
The two cheeses I tried were so delicious - gum smoked and outback saltbush. I was so sorry that I didn't buy more so will be stocking up on my next visit later this year. Oh, and the ice creams were amazing too.
S. P.
Average...there's some wasted potential here. I was hoping for a nice cheese platter like they do in Bega but they just sell individual cheeses. The milkshakes should have been amazing but they were mediocre. Service was alright. The cheese toasties were nice but left me hungry. Will definitely go again but without the high expectations.
L. M.
Beautiful ❤️❤️❤️ place too visit if you want too try something different in style of lunch menus..... And too bring something allthentic home too the house hold in terms of cheeses and or flavoured cheeses like they have chili cheese and fig cheese and walnut cheese and a whole heap of different styles of tasty 😋😋😋 cheese ranges that are beautiful..... They also sell..... Beautiful thick shakes and milk shakes...... Home make partiserys like home made meat pies and ricotta and spinach triangles...... Quiches..... Salad sandwiches...... Egg and bacon rolls..... Pancakes..... And many more other goodies for you too enjoy it is all fresh and takes brilliant....🙂🙂🙂💯 percent well worth looking into while on your way through Bodalla.
C. H.
Loved it! Loved the food and the set up and the staff were great. Special shout out to the lassie that served us (around 3pm on ny day, long brown hair, ponytail maybe?), in the cheese section. I wish I had taken her name because she was just superb - knowledgeable, friendly, relatable and welcoming - a credit to your organisation!
K. R.
Its an OK tourist attraction. Produce is good but expensive
N. V.
A must visit place if you are in the area. Great food, beautiful scenery & friendly staff. The caramelised onion & beef and blueberry cheesecake icecream is a must try. Cannot fault any food. Obviously the milk & cheese is fresh & tasty.
D. V.
Great range of ice cream. Let's go camping flavour was great and the berry cheesecake was also delicious.
They will let you try the flavours no problems
Staff were very friendly and conversant.
The baby cows out the back we're sure friendly and love a good pat.
We noticed they also have gift platters to take away which is great for any occasion
J. B.
Lovely little spot for a relaxing break. Delicious toasted sandwiches and thick shakes for lunch. Beautiful country view of green pastures and farm animals. Take away a collection of specialty cheeses and yummy ice cream.
K. L.
Very friendly staff , enjoyed a cheese tasting , got to feed the goat , & llama delicious icecream tasting offerings unusual flavours I had the coffee & wattleseed icecream 😋 lovely to see use of natural Australian ingredients in cheese and icecream . Good choice of local chutney and jams 👍
S. W.
Service in the Cafe was really slow. Cheese tasting was a bit better but not much. Bought some of their wonderful cheese, the chilli with wattleseed is excellent
D. R.
Far too busy given Covid precautions, but with Country Pumpkins playing out front, it is still a great place to visit. All the dairy is great, not just the cheese.
E.
Stopping here is a must if you pass through my partner and I came here twice first we got cheeses for a cheese platter and they were amazing I would highly recommend the lemon myrtle and the aged cheddar we also grabbed a halloumi to make breakfast Burgers with.
The ice cream is outstanding we tried the Kakadu plum and vanilla bean salted caramel and Nutella
J. K.
Blue cheese was absolutely amazing. Lovely little village atmosphere and good range of local goods.
L. T.
We always stop for an ice cream and pick up some cheeses. Double ice cream of course, yoghurt and 4 different cheeses so yummy excellent products, super friendly staff an absolute treasure of a place.🤗😊
D. C.
Great place to stop and get coffee and a quick bite to eat. There is heaps of space inside our out. The toasties are some of the best ever and the thick shakes are exactly that. The staff are most welcoming and more than happy to have a chat. Truly spot like home.
S. S.
Amazing staff and yummy ice cream. We had Bush flavour - plum, Berry cheesecake avd Dark chocolate. All tasted great
J. E.
Lovely. Great opportunity for children to see cows being milked; purchase local wares. Great coffee.
J. C.
Definitely worth stopping for! So many samples to try! Friendly service! The ice cream is divine and the cheese is pretty scrumptious! They have a beautiful garden outside to sit in, a deck, a couple of awesome fireplaces. The signs say live music Sunday’s and you can bottle feed a calf! So cool!
V. S.
Went to the dairy shed today, the customer service by Sally K was amazing. Love the ice creams and cheese. Definitely will visit again.
c. r.
I was so lucky to be able
to discover bodalla fresh unhomogenized glass milk bottles a few years back when working nearby in moruya and a local dairy in bodalla. ive been noted on quite a few occasions (for making a very special cup of tea or coffee!) to travel the 4 hours to collect just the milk and drive back to Sydney the same day...Its honestly better than any specialty milk you can buy in trendy shops etc in sydney. well worth the drive and support for the local dairy farmers who do it unbelievably tough. Thanks guys for keeping good traditional dairy going strong and supporting the community
M. W.
Best ice-cream and then cheeses for later.
M. D.
The Bodalla Dairy is a beautiful place to both stay and eat. The rooms were comfy and clean with beautiful decor. It was wonderful waking up to the roosters and watching the animals being fed in the morning. The food was fresh and delicious. The staff were so friendly and accommodating. I had the pleasure of sampling some of their amazing cheeses - the saltbush being my favourite! Lucky for me I discovered their cheeses being sold at my local Harris Farm market in Sydney. Close by are a few shops, a pub and an artists studio where there were lots of local and hand made treasures to be found. Will be back!
D. S.
Cheese, ice cream and food all exceptional, but the price is also a bit luxury to match. Still very much worth it for a luxurious brunch or afternoon tea. Plan to spend, everything is delicious. Calf feeding at 10am and 4pm, well worth it.
S. A.
I had forgotten what REAL milk was like, till i had a feed here! The thick shake was to die for!!! I don't like blue vein cheese, but the pie was fantastic. The quality you use-to-get at a bakery and the toastie... was REALLY satisfying. I will taste that ham for months.
The crew were professional, but REALLY friendly and welcoming. Made me feel like a regular local.
In a nutshell... the quality and service (how it use-to-be) should be the standard used for ALL customer food outlets.
K. A.
Make sure you get the lemon myrtle cheese. Also the lemon myrtle gelato...although the coffee and wattleseed gelato is also amazing. The smoked haloumi is pretty good too!
R. G.
Great milkshakes!! plenty of seating space for small or large groups inside, outside on the raised deck or on the grassed area with kids play cubbyhouse. Calf feeding twice a day & chickens roaming the grounds.
Great place for families & anyone passing through!
N. C.
YUM! YUM! YUM! Great pies and cheeses!! Highly recommended.
J. L.
An essential stop on the road near Bodalla — some of the purest, tastiest dairy you can get, in a family friendly environment.
L. S.
A little "roadside attractions" bizarre but no denying the high quality of the dairy products on sale. Good parking and excellent tastings run by an enthusiastic staff
L. M.
IT provides a nice variety of food and local produce. Could benefit from a bit more information near the entrance about the ice cream counter: my 81 year old Mum went to get an ice cream and there was no sign saying you had to get in the main queue so she waited at the ice cream counter until another customer told her...a staff member did not say anything and there were plenty around..that's why I only give 4 stars
G. M.
Great experience. Lovely food
A. D.
Dropped through for an early lunch - the toasties and milkshake hit the spot. We were able to say hello to a goat and some friendly chickens as we ate, which made the stop so much fun.
M. W.
Thickshake needs to be thicker was pretty much a milkshake
L. V.
We absolutely loved this dairy/restaurant that we stumbled upon on our scenic trip from Sydney to Melbourne. The food was amazing, and the staff were wonderful to us. We bought bags full of their amazing cheese to bring home to the USA. Highly recommended.
P. C.
Best thickshakes I've ever had. It's is essential to get something dairy related here. It's a tourist attraction so it can get quite busy but the staff do a great job of getting everything done while staying calm and friendly. The food served is great but sometimes can be a bit of a wait, just means more time to rest. Got myself a small tub of ice cream and a variety of cheese and the stuff they make there is seriously something you can only get from there. Just order yourself some lunch, take a seat at the back and enjoy the view and the food. You won't regret it.
L. C.
Good cheese and excellent icecream.
D. J.
Great food and awesome coffee. Beautiful location and the kids can enjoy hand feeding a calf in the morning. Meals are all reasonably priced. Indoor and outdoor seating.
Revisit: Still great! Friendly staff and the calf feeding at 10 and 4 is a must!
S. L.
Delicious, some unique flavours, and ideal texture.
P. D.
I really enjoyed the ice cream we bought at the Bodalla dairy and we also bought some delicious cheese. A great experience with very friendly and helpful staff.
J. P.
Good stop to taste and buy some fresh cheese and delicious samples. The lemon myrtle and smoked eucalyptus being my favorites. Stock up and get back on the road.
L. L.
Super taste ice cream with unique flavors, milk was super fresh, nice little cow 🐄 at the back farm.
Worth to stop by
K. F.
We truly loved our experiences at the Bodalla Dairy whilst we were in town. The ice cream and cheeses are incredibly delicious and the meals are pretty good - try the brisket pie! The staff aren’t always friendly or happy to help though.
J. P.
Cute place worth stopping by to check out - live music with lawn chairs for you to stop and have a listen. Thickshake was actually thick and so delicious.
M. H.
This is a must-do stop over if you are travelling along the coast. The family will enjoy the country ambience amd free running chickens. Your stomach will thank you for the scrumptous cheese toasties and bush tucker flavoured ice creams (go Kakadu plums)
K. S.
The best flat white coffee in Australia! Delicious breakfast and cheese tasting. Reasonable prices and friendly employees. Try the strawberry milkshake and eggs Benedict or a scrumptious omelette with local cheese. Don’t forget to stop out back and see the farm animals!
S. J.
The building brought back a lot of nostalgia, the ice cream was creamy. The cheese especially nice, loved the modern flair to the newer flavours and glad that kept the old way of making it. Will be going again, that fireplace in the dining room was gorgeous.
G. M.
Very nice ice cream! Friendly staff and nice atmosphere. Definitely worth a stop. Don't forget to check animals on their backyard if traveling with kids!
W. S.
Great 10 stars people so so friendly
R. C.
Great flavoured cheese, awesome milk shakes and ice creams. Perfect place to take a break enroute to Bega for a cuppa, cheese or creams.
H. C.
Quaint little set up in a beautiful setting. Great place to take the kids, there are specific times at which the calves can be bottle fed- an amazing experience for young kids. Prepare to spend loads - since the selection of cheeses available is amazing. I only wanted to buy the Vintage Cheddar but came back buying 6 different types and they all are amazing. We also bought vegetarian sandwiches from the cafeteria , they were amazingly tasty and so much value for money. All in all , do drop by for a couple of hours; you wont regret it
P. M.
Loved it, fresh cold milk is available on tap (own produce), food was awesome and cheese tasting takes you to the next level. Very friendly staff.
D. W.
High quality yumminess say no more…Well actually probably the best cheese toastie one could have. Done!
F. M.
Great place to stop for a coffee and cake 🍰 plus sample the many varieties of products they have to sample. Will definitely be back on next journey.
R. D.
Great spot for an ice cream and coffee. Lots of local cheeses on offer, as well as Australian made gifts
N. W.
Drove past but had to go back for a look... and we were so glad that we did. The ice cream was amazing.... the cheese to die for.. and the menu looked unbeatable. But did I mention the ice cream... haha. Honestly if you are driving past make an effort to drop in, you won't regret it. And live music every Sunday and the kids can feed a baby calf at 8am and 4pm each day. Recommended.
L. H.
The cheese was beyond lovely and tasty. We should have bought more. Great helpful and friendly staff.
A. W.
This is an amazing place to stop wether you are on a long drive and need a rest or staying in the area. The staff where wonderfully friendly and helpful, the food was excellent and the views stunning from the back patio overlooking the valley.
A lot of effort has gone into making this a great place for everyone. Live music on a Sunday, family friendly equipment for kids, calf feeding, open sweeping views of the valleys. Highly recommended.
K. A.
Kids loved the Calf feeding. Covid makes food and drink wait times blow out , but the friendly staff do their best under the circumstances.
T. J.
Great milkshakes, and the local cheese is super yummy.
Nice atmosphere to sit inside or out and eat or drink your milkshake.
Ice creams yum too
M. D.
Best cheese - love the Lemon Myrtle!
T. G.
Lovely spot to stop for a coffee. Grab it and go sit out the back in the sun. Very peaceful. Bought a few cheeses to have later with the bread from the Bakery just up the road.
J. F.
It’s a very stylish building, the coffee is ok and the food limited but reasonable.
The down side is that it’s a study in inefficiency. If you want to stop, allow a good 20mins to get a toasted sandwich on a quiet day.

Expensive $$$$ but very good products.
Live in the area and go from time to time for treats.

Lovely little spot to stop. Delicious toasties and yummy ice creams. Good assortment of produce to buy in the shop.
Å. s.
What a great stop with really good icecream and cheese cake, can't be more fresh than this. Also loved the local family vibe from this place, definitely recommended.
V. D.
It was a very nice interactive session we had here. We were late to see the factory but that didn't stop us from tasting the different varieties of cheese.
The place is very nicely decorated, spacious. The idea of drums, signages in the shape of the cow is good.
The people managing are very friendly, offer lot of warmth.
The food is simply superb. The ice creams, thikshakes & shade shakes are delicious beyond imagination. The caramel & hokey pokey is my recommendation.
D. B.
Amazing place. Loved everything about it. We sat inside in a booth. I ordered the fish n chips and the fish was the best I've ever had anywhere!!!! A beautiful light crisp batter with fresh white delicious fish. Hubby ordered a steak sandwich, which he also enjoyed. Mother in law and Aunty had ham and cheese toasted sandwiches. There was a little bit of confusion when we arrived about 5 minutes to 12 about whether the breakfast menu was finished ?? Then we were told the kitchen was closed and we could only order from the glass display..... then a few minutes later we were told the kitchen was open again ?? Maybe the chef was running late??? Very confusing anyway as we had to change our orders 3 times. Would definitely go back when next in the area.
A. K.
Customer service fantastic, good strong coffee, raspberry ice cream was delicious. What a pretty little place, loved it
J. D.
So good cheese, ice cream, coffee and cakes.
Very nice people attend, really good place for well visit
K. C.
Lovely spot to stop. Can feed the baby cows at 10am & 4pm. Great looking menu and excellent cheese to taste/buy. We liked it so much we even booked a nights accommodation. Very friendly staff too.
W. R.
Beautiful spot great ice cream and cheese tasting in the cafe
Kids can bottle feed the baby calf's at 10am feeding
R. L.
This was a stumble upon location and I spent a good hour or more here eating and meeting folks. Incredibly friendly and helpful staff, and delicious food.
W. B.
Soooooo delicious. The kids milkshakes, my coffee and my wife's scones all a 10/10. All staff are friendly and their cheese is spectacular. Ask for their "bluebert" (Camembert) unique, creamy and yummy. Deserves an award.
We look forward to our next visit.
Wayne and family from Shellharbour
T. I.
Great trip stop. Food and gelato were enjoyable. Sunday live music enjoyed by the locals. Very lively environment. Last but not least, visit the alpacas and calfs at the back. You will get the chance to feed them at 10am and 4pm. Hope this place doesn't get touristy!
P. C.
Very boutique with some good views. Lies strategically on the way down south towards Narooma. The ice creams and the milkshakes were very fresh. The staff friendly and the ambience very cheerful. Enjoyed our time here very much
L. P.
One of our favourite places on the south coast. Great cheeses, milk and ice creams. But also a good place to dine in. Lunches are especially great - big menu and family friendly. Lots of places to sit, even when it’s busy it’s never too crazy noisy. They also do potty calf feeding and have chooks to entertain the kids - check the blackboard out the front for times.
S. J.
Great shop, beautiful food! Kids loved seeing the calves getting fed out the back.
D. C.
Great little spot to stop with the kids.
S. T.
Very popular place with great covered outdoor area. Sunday morning live music a real treat. Coffee and scones served a little far apart but big apologies and a complimentary slice of cake more than made up for it.
D. C.
Great to be able to have a cheese tasting before purchase, good service, love the native flavoured cheeses 👍
D. C.
Calf feedings at 10am and 4pm. We never managed to get to feed the cows, we were either too early or waited around to long and the little one got inpatient. Lots of ice cream flavours to chose from, someone standing by to happily assist. Take home icecream packs available, flavoured yoghurt and fresh milk also available to purchase. Cheese available to try and buy. Cafe food was tasty. Returned a handful of times to try the cheese curds on the menu but were told they weren't available each time. Good coffee. Plenty of seating. Family friendly.
R. T.
The cheeses are delicious but you must give the Ice cream a try. Coffee and wattleseed was our favourite.
C.
Limited selection of cheese, excellent yoghurt, good toasties but generous portions. Difficult crossing over busy road so choose parking carefully.
N. G.
Planned a visit to this dairy as they had many experiences- pasturising, bottling, ice-cream making and calves feeding.
We reached at 3:50pm and missed most of the things. Could only do the calves feeding. Kiddos were very happy with that.
The milk from the dairy is out of the world, kids drank two glasses and had an ice cream too. We had pasties and chai tea. Needless to say, both of them were amazing.
We did some cheese tasting -garlic, chilli, pepper, pepper berry, smoked halumi. They were yummy. Try at your own risk because if you do, you will definitely end up buying most of them.
l. p.
Toasties were delishous cheese is creamy and amazing and the smoked haloumi is incredible plenty of parking will definately stop again even if just to buy some milk
P. D.
Stopped in today with my little one. Great experience feeding the calves, goats, pony's etc. My little one loved it! Bought coffee and take away pies which were all really good. Tried the cheeses which were all tasty. The food other customers had going out looked pretty good, so I will go back... The issue I had was the wait time! When we got there it was busy! But when I went to order 45 mins later it looked like it had slowed down a lot! Paid for every thing and was only then told it was a significant wait for the coffee. I had to hold my little one for half an hour to wait for a take away coffee!!! With my little one getting more and more impatient it was really hard. But if your made to wait half an hour for a take away coffee with a long queue behind you, I can't blame my little girl for being bored!!! The young staff seemed pretty clued up but the owner trying to help on the coffee station seemed completely lost, being told what to do by the young staff member. A few simple procedures and changes would have made it so much easier. A number of customers waiting for takeaway coffee left and did not return.
I'm still giving it a 4 (reluctantly) because of the free time/ feeding of the animals my daughter had and the quality of food and coffee we had. But I wouldn't go there on a busy day or even a half busy day again unless I was sitting down for a table with a time to spare...
They have done great things there, which I give them credit for, but the management/owners need to work out a better solution for busy times.
T. N.
Great visit to this place late on Wednesday late afternoon, they were closing up but waited while I chose my cheeses. I was so grateful to them for doing that as I was also walking on the freshly mopped floor. Highly recommended place to visit and buy great freshly made cheese.
L. d. S.
Cute little place to stop if you're in the region. Very nice cheeses and ice cream to try out.
K. B.
Great experience feeding the bullies and alpacas. Lovely set up. Recommend fixing up kids play area things a bit unsafe and broken. Tried the new icecreams absolutely delicious. Comfortable seating in cafe and friendly staff. Heaps of parking. Would recommend.
A. E.
Great cheese.
Had the smokey BBQ burger and a spearmint shake both very nice, beer battered chips were a big plus.
There are free tastings of every cheese they sell here so you can try before you buy so you get the right one.
Cosy friendly atmosphere with a retro vibe!
T. Z.
Had a really great ice cream here today. It was raspberry. My husband had berry cheesecake and passionfruit which he really enjoyed. You can also get really yummy cheese and have a milkshake. They also let you bottle feed the poddy calves which is always great fun - I like cows so could be biased...
S. B.
So many different ice cream flavours.
Spearmint for milk shakes (not an easy thing to find)
Toastie were great. And an open fire for cold days
D. T.
This is Great spot if you have little kids .With a great grass area for kids to play .while you chat and catch up with your friends.Food is good service is prompt .
But dont be discouraged if your not a parent plenty of room to peacefully talk away from kids .
With a great loft area out side more suiting couples to nestle away from general cafe traffic.
Now also with the new Ice cream range made on site available at the Dairy Shed this adds a whole new dimension to this great stop at Bodalla enjoy a coffee while licking your ice cream what better is there to do in your spare time .
R. G.
A great little roadside stop. Calf feeding twice daily for the kids, a selection of cheeses and ice cream and a nice Cafe. Service is a bit slow if it's busy so try to order well ahead and wander round the pleasant grounds for a bit.
L. P.
Great experience.
We were early and they opened ahead of their normal hours to allow us in.
The breakfast was great.
Lots to see and experience and great local food and produce to take on ones journey.
The biggest ever barbeque and lots more to see and experience.
Fantastic service.
S. J.
The creamiest icecream ever..and super tasty cheese😍
M.
Worth stopping by, great cafe and back veranda. Also a shop inside that sells local dairy products like cheese, ice cream and flavoured milk. They have calf feeding at 10am everyday at the back paddock which is a lot of fun.
F. H.
Stopped on our road trip from Melbourne to Sydney. We tried a sample of the great ice cream, cheese and milk. Great place to stop if driving Melbourne to Sydney on the ocean route.
S. E.
Top shelf ice-cream and cheeses, lovely friendly staff, Beautiful historic building and grounds, plus kids can feed the calves at 10 and 4pm! We come here every time we go to the coast. 👌
J. M.
Tasted and bought a variety of cheeses & had a scrumptious dark chocolate ice cream which were all made on site.
Live music, open mike night and a roaring fire makes for a great night out.
R. S.
Great location. You can get fresh milk, lots of local cheeses and some really great ice cream.
P. B.
Tasty treats, excellent quality goods from local dairy. Friendly staff and service. Don't miss the cool seating area out the back. Top spot for a break from driving.
B. H.
Amazing ice cream and lovely staff. The cheese is also fantastic. Would very much recommend the "go wild" ice cream - lemon myrtle and ginger delish!
C. A.
Great milkshakes, lovely cheese. Awesome live entertainment every Sunday! Unexpected gem of a pit stop.
E.
Good place to stop in the Princes Highway, great ice cream and dairy products. Ham and vintage cheese croissant - yum.
K. l.
Beautiful location.
Been a few times
The Cheese is amazing love the variety of choices available.
Kids really enjoy feeding the animals!
S. W.
The staff are always soo friendly, and they have the best cheese I've ever tasted. Can't wait to visit again.
Z. J.
The beef brisket pie was scrumptious! All the sauces and products are unique and delicious.
Definitely make sure you come and visit :)
S. M.
Arrived as a family of 5 about 15min before closing and they were still very accomadationg and served us sandhwuxhes and coffee without any spite. They also went through all the cheeses and icecream flavors even though we had arrived so late. 10/10 would reccomend
J. S.
We always stop here on our way down the south coast. Just can't go past one of their thick shakes. These guys pasteurise milk the old way, in a vat at the minimal temperature required for a prolonged period. The big guys do it super hot for a couple of seconds on its way through a pipe. You can taste the difference.
V. D.
Its your typical tourist food, icecream was over sweet and not churned enough, scones ok,jam and cream disappointed earl grey tea?? Cheese love the range of flavours, styling of the place is outstanding and clean, loved the feeding of the calfs experience, its worth a look and the staff are super friendly
l. b.
Great local business, the cheeses and ice cream flavour options are wonderful.
B. M. B.
Guest Rooms are situated approx 50 meters from the edge of a luscious paddock populated with dairy cows & valley views. There are plenty of unique alcoves within the grounds to enjoy food and beverages either indoors or outdoors. Staff are sincere and friendly. Ice-cream is made on the premises, where Bodalla Dairy have earned an enviable reputation for the quality of their dairy products. This is a family business run by people who are caring and passionate about giving you the friendship and service you expect
L. P.
Holy cow!!! That’s a big portion. The tomato relish needed some salt real bad but I can forgive because the staff were so darn cushé, and didn’t judge me for having a bear with my lunch on a Wednesday. Being mostly dairy free did not exclude me enjoy my time here.
A. I.
Really nice sandwiches in the café. Homemade dairy desserts. Cheese tasting is fun, and most of the local cheese is done quite well.
Did not get to view the cheese making session.
S.
The Devonshire Tea might be the best on the Sapphire Coast. The scones were perfect, they broke into neat halves when pulled apart and were just the best consistency (not too crumbly or too doughy). Mine were also fresh out of the oven and came with a healthy helping of jam and cream. The cheeses are delicious, bush tucker range is nice for something different. Pepperberry or Saltbush would be my picks. Their milk is absolutely phenomenal, full cream all the way.
S. B.
Has changed since I was last there. Good range of cheese to choose from and you can taste before you buy and reasonable price
J. M.
There is so much to do here - you could spend a whole day. Cheese chats, feeding the calves, milkshakes, walk to the church, dine in the cafe! It's really really lovely. The village of Bodalla is also unique and lots of lovely things to buy. Highly recommended!
G. C.
Not sure what they're feeding the cows, but far out this is easily the best milk/ice cream products I've ever had.
R. R.
Absolutely amazing. Everything dairy was spectacular. Try the vintage cheddar and shed shakes! Very friendly and welcoming staff as well. Definitely coming back!
T. H.
What a lovely place!! The icecream was so yummy and the cheese was divine... the kids had a ball too!!
I. S.
Great cheese, there is cheese tasting, my favourite was the Smoked Gum Leaf and we bought a Butter Scotch Milk which is amazing!!
K.
If you time your visit right, you can help feed the calves and the alpacas. Set on the banks of the river, the dairy is a working farm that manufactures its own milk, cheese and ice cream. The attached Cafe has a variety of meals and snacks available and if you're looking for accommodation, there are a small number of units at the back of the dairy.
Take the kidlets along to the windows at the front of the dairy so that they can see the cheese making process. Then visit the store and buy some cheese and maybe some flavoured milk to take home. Their Iced Coffee Milk is amazing. Made from full cream milk, you'll need to shake which ever flavour you choose to mix the layer of cream through.
E. G.
Lunch with friends, once or twice a month, big fire in Winter. Outside seating, friendly staff. Icecream, cheese's, homemade pies. Usual coffee, scones, slices. Good parking,
K. W.
Amazing dairy products, the cheesecake and chantilly cream were to die for. The animal feeding was a hit with the kids and the staff were super friendly. Highly recommend.
R. T.

I. C.
Free calf feeding at 10am and 4pm. Grab a refreshing milk shake while you wait then sample the cheese and purchase Aussie Bush Tucker varieties to take home. Recommend the Gum Leaf Smoked cheeses.
S. V.
Best tasting omelet I have had in a long time. Made from fresh eggs and fresh milk. Nice seating area outside as well as inside.
C. L.
Loved the ice cream here, great pitt stop on the way through town
D. C.
Thought there would be more products to purchase and more dairy centred foods. Feeding the calves was great for little ones and adults alike. Iced choc not best value for $7
B. N.
Yummy!
Milkshakes and a really nice place to chill/rest along your drive down the coast. Neat deck and garden in the back with some stunning views of the countryside.
I. K.
If you love milkshakes, thickshakes, cheese or ice cream you HAVE TO try the Dairy Shed. Can be busy in holiday periods, but always worth a look. Baby animals to look at & outdoor eating area a winner for kids (did I mention the thickshakes?)
P. G.
Fantastic place for a milkshake and a quick bite. We had chicken sandwich and chocolate milkshake! Service is great too...they have few cheese taste testings too.
B. R.
Good place to stop and grab a quick brekky. Will recommend the Drovers breakfast and Vegetarian quiche. The view from the deck is splendid overlooking the farm with calfs, chooks and llamas.
d. j.
Great fresh food and delicious ice cream. Flat white coffee needs more practice though. Not on the cheap side though so be prepared to spend abit
G. C.

B. W.
Quaint place full of yummy cheeses, milks, yoghurt. Busy but the staff are very friendly.
p. c.
I really like their milkshake. It would be better if they can rearrange their CovidSafe plan, it's always very crowded in front of their door.
L. D.
Super fun location, high quality and novel dairy products all in a gorgeous location. Good pies too
k. p.
A must visit on the coast. Good food, superb ice creams and don't forget the calf feeding at 10am & 4pm. A winner with the kids.
R. K.
Omg. Omg. Omg. This is by far the best ice cream and absolutely incredible service. The tall boy with brown hair was an absolute hoot! My entire family was dying of laughter. Would even come back just to see him 😊
E. T.
Lovely spot on the side of the highway to have coffee and food.

A. F.
I read somewhere dairy is about to get disrupted, replaced by software-designed gunk. If this place ever closes I'll give up using software. Just saying.

K.
Devonshire tea was nice, but it was hot and open and there were flies everywhere, needless to say we didn't didn't do the 'cheese tasting' which was an open help-yourself-container with a few cheeses that the flies probably had landed on...
J. G. (.
Seriously, try a toastie, a shake or a coffee. This place really shows homage and respect to dairy, with a fantastic milk bar to suit.
