Comments of Gelato Messina Surry Hills
D. J.
Quality gelato. Plenty of variety, weekly special flavours and the legendary cakes! The new store fitout makes it harder to see/select your flavours but it feels more spacious inside.
A. R.
The Messina pavlova gelato tastes more like a pavlova than an actual pavlova does at bills cafe down the road! Yum.
S. A.
Friendly and helpful. I forgot my mask, but they were still happy to serve me from outside the shop.
I was looking for a vegan gelato flavour and all they had were sorbets. Would love for Messina to introduce a bigger variety of dairy free gelato (example: pistachio, salted caramel, etc)
K. O.
I like Messina Gelato. They have some classic good flavours that is always a hit plus every week special that you can try out. Their gelato cake is interesting and yummy too got the Quad Choc $68 it consist of
milk, white and dark chocolate gelato, toasted white chocolate parfait, flourless chocolate sponge, crunchy caramel milk chocolate, finished with velvet chocolate spray. Quite yummy.
J. G.
Love love love their Gelato. Normally always get one scoop of one of their specials and then a scoop of pistachio praline. Then for special occasions a tub for the family to enjoy!!
R. J.
I Love Messina..... BUT....
Only issue is buying 1.5 litres they won't let you have a 1liter and a 0.5liter tub which i wanted to do so the ice creams and sorbets were separate (it's disgusting when they melt together).
I have been buying 1.5liters for years and have been disappointed with the lack of willingness to consider a customer's valid request. Especially considering the price, of over $34 for a 1.5ltr tub. (Which is ridiculously expensive).
Clearly the idea is that you have to purchase 2 separate tubs which would end up costing over $45 dollars for the same amount of gelato... OUTRAGEOUS..!!!
That being said I will still keep going back because it's Delicious..!!!
(Rant Over)

you should always leave room for a cup of good gelato any moment you’re in the vicinity of a messina branch. i had a refreshing scoop of salted caramel and white chocolate on a hot spring day at surry hills, and honestly to this day i regret i didn’t have seconds.
E. D.
The huge queue speaks volumes - everyone knows how amazing the ice cream is and service was great too.
So many flavours to choose from (and quite a few specials) that it can be overwhelming.
Went with the milk choc peanut fudge (amazing, but seriously sweet) and salted caramel with white chocolate.
Definitely worth a visit and the queue goes down pretty sharpish.
T. S.
The most incredible ice cream I've ever tasted! I would love to know their secret.👌
M. B.
Delicious ice cream with many choices. From classic vanilla to some original special unlimited flavor. Especially if you like flavor with white chocolate, caramel, peanut butter... you will be in heaven!
My favorite one is still coconut pandan. They also do cakes.
n. d.
This is my go-to after dinner dessert place. Friendly staff all the time. Can’t complain even when the queue is long. Messina for me is just the best
N. K.
Great ice cream and friendly staff.
I mean really good Gelato.
Try the chocolate one with peanut fudge. It’s awesome.
J. P.
Wasn't busy which was good as there was minimal space to thoroughly investigate the important things in life, ie ice cream flavours. The staff were friendly and the servings generous.
H. Z.
The mushroom gelato cake just looks soooo cute! But, when we eat it, we have to cut the cap, bottom and popping candy separately! So it means you have to cut two cakes and crash the candies. And the cake actually is way too sweat. I tried the Bombe Alaska before, that one was raspberry combined with chocolate, so it tasted fabulous! So Messina serves perfect gelato, but you have to choose the right flavour.
S.
Gelato Messina always surprises me! new flavours every week, amazingly friendly and smiley staff. Plethora of flavours to choose from. No matter if you’re a chocolate or a sorbet kind of person, here you’ll definitely find something to satisfy and indulge your taste buds. After all Happiness is a double scoop ice cream dripping down your hand.
K. A.
I usually go to the Rosebery Messina branch. I ordered my usual pistachio perline milkshake. I enjoyed it but it had a few flaws which made me give them 4 stars. The pistachios were hardly blended! And a few big pieces at the end were very bitter.
S. J.
supervisor that served me just now (13/2 @ 3) was sooooo nice. she was so lovely, totally made our day
K.
Really really good gelato! Perfect consistency and a great selection of unique flavours!
Not a sweet tooth person so went for the dark choco and raspberry! Perfect!
Very friendly staff!
S. F.
The OG of Messina, their ice cream used to be the best but over time has been declining as the company moves to expand. I've been here a few times and it's been really busy, mostly due to hype. The ice cream and cakes are pretty good but it's not worth a 20 min wait. If it's a little empty then you should definitely give it a try. They usually have special flavours on the board which are pretty exciting. Tonight's was a play on momofuku birthday cake.
G. N.
OMG the ice cream and cakes here are amazing. Anything more than a scoop is epic. I had blood orange and passionfruit. A fantastic way to top off dinner in Surry Hills just make sure your belly is as big as your eyes...
J. D.
Lots of flavours to choose from, pretty much all delicious. Recommend going during the day when it's not too busy. Cash only or use their app to pay. Pic of an empty cup speaks to the goodness!!
D. O.
An absolute favourite for us and the kids. Hands down best gelato around and the cakes are spectacular.
S.
A popular gelato spot with a lot of interesting and innovative flavours. Always looking forward to try the special flavours and never got disappointed! Good work!
Z. L.
Great place for gelato. Apple pie flavour was on point but the lemon was a bit bitter. Music was pretty loud inside which made it a bit difficult to order, but they were very accommodating of my peanut allergy and used a brand new scoop.
M. M.
The true definition of yummmmmm.... These guys have an insane range and I just love the white chocolate and hazlenut gelato highly highly recommend
H. L.
Lovely gelato shop - I would definitely come again.
I don’t usually get gelato because portions are small (at least at gelato shops in NYC) but I decided to check it out because I overheard a local talk about how great it was. I was very pleased with portion size and was too full to eat lunch after.
The person let me test their best flavors (I probably had 6 samples) and I ended up getting 2 scoops - one scoop of pistachio and another of macadamia nut crunch. The pistachio had full nuts (not crushed up) and was excellent - this was what another customer recommended me to get. The macadamia nut crunch was also delicious - sweeter and very satisfying to eat macadamia nut pieces.
The shop has tons of flavors (sweet, fruity, yogurty). I tried boysenberry for the first time!
J. H.
Unbelievable ice cream, took a girl here after a date and she cried after trying it saying it was the best ice cream she ever had. 5 points to gryffindor
Q. C.
Who can resist the temptation to gelato. So when I passed by, I just walked inside without a second. Messina shop is always crowded, we all gelato lovers.Aha~
This time I tried one of the Messina Special flavours-CRUNCHUS MAXIMUS. I love crunchy food. The gelato is sweet but not too sweet. Like the rich peanut butter,it's really a match with the caramel white chocolate. But the peanut was not crunchy which is a little pity. But it won't affect my good mood to this gelato.
Will definitely buy another gelato when I pass by a Messina shop next time.
Y. K.
Gelato Messina is a cosy gelato shop which has a number of branches around Sydney. They have a variety of ice-cream flavours, including sorbet. I'm a bit fan of chocolate so I prefer other options, to be honest. They sometimes mix different flavours, name it and then put it into their specials list. I strongly recommend you to read that list before making the decision. Besides, if you want to try a flavour to make an informed choice, they would let you taste it first with their small wooden sticks. Obviously, my favourite gelato shop :)
L. C.
Messina gelato is an institution, the ice cream cakes do seem overpriced but you won’t find better, and is my go-to for an after dinner cone
Y. D.
Lovely boutique ice cream place with lots of flavors.
I had tiramisu and hazelnut cause those are my favorites. And Messina did not let me down.
What surprised me is that they have real lady finger part in tiramisu, not just the flavor. It’s like actual frozen tiramisu ❤️
B. C.
ALWAYS good I just wish I had a private VIP line
K. W.
Love the gelato here! There's plenty of selection and there's always something new to try. It can get quite busy during the busy weekend and evenings but it's generally pretty good.
K. T.
Very creative flavours! Can’t get enough of Messina, especially because I’m able to order through Deliveroo. Highly recommend trying the weekly special flavours.
S. C.
The best gelato you will ever eat. The weekly specials inject some excitement into an excruciating lockdown. Simply addictive, nevet met a flavour i dont love.
C. B.
What can I say! I love ice cream! The specials are unique and tasty and always worth a trip if I see one I'm interested in. It's a regular Sunday night treat for me.
C. M.
Spoilt for choice here. Always a line here. I had the special Halo Halo flavour, wanting it to taste like the Filipino dessert but it was not the same. Lemon was very sour as well and tart
り.
Good ice-cream. I tried the fig ice cream poached in marsala. Unfortunately, you can't find a place to sit or stand and eat inside the store.
A. T.
Very busy shop even in a chilled afternoon. Have reasonable option of flavours, though the queue system is a bit confusing. Get ready with your cash as they don't accept any other types of payment. Their macha is yummy, but their Dulce de Leche is very gritty.
A.
Awesome flavours on offer. Great tasting ice cream.
M. M.
Delicious gelato😋, warm and friendly service💙
A. V.
BEST ICE CREAM IN THE WORLD! And yess I mean it! You gotta try the mango and coconut and the peanut chocolate fudge
E. S.
From Crown Street, Newtown or Parramatta and every other Messina you're guaranteed great tasting cake, ice cream or gelato.
S. C.
Best Gelato in Sydney! Once you have Messina, there are no other matches!
N.
Best ice cream in Sydney hands down! Went there two days straight 😋😋 will defo recommend their giant’s milk and pistachio gelato!! Yankees Fan ;)
T. R.
I don't know if this Messina is just better but was particularly amazing tonight!
B. M.
The best GELATO I have ever had!
A. J.
This place has a long queue but moves swiftly. Keep an eye for their specials. Pro-tip: They have a scoop size that is smaller than the regular. It helps if you are eating the ice cream after dinner or watching the calories
K. N.
This place is delicious! Highly recommend the super dulche... and try the specials! Who am I kidding, it's all amazing!!!
N. Z. (. O.
Love the ice cream specials always make visiting interesting.
M. N.
Pretty much the best ice cream I’ve ever had! Spent a few weeks in Italy but never found a place that could even compete with Gelato Messina!
Try Macadamia Crunch and Pistachio Praline. Been here too often probably! No regrets!
A. A.
My favourite Ice cream place in the city , stuff are very friendly ❤️
O. L.
Honestly, when it comes to fancy ice cream, these folk hit the bullseye more often than not. At the worst, it's been a nice ice cream but a bit weird. Usually, because I tried one of their experimental flavours so that's on me. Normally, it's awesome.
Today, I stuck with an oldie but a goodie.. choc orange. It was without a doubt the absolute BEST choc orange ice cream I have ever had. The chocolate was not to dark and not too sweet, the orange had a depth of flavour that complimented the choc perfectly. The waffle cone was delightfully crisp, in fact the only problem is that if its available next time I go, I probably won't have something different....
Oh, and my companion said the Italian Nougat was also to die for, but I was too busy swooning over the choc orange to attempt to snaffle a taste.
J. A.
First time I had ice-cream in Australia so I have no basis for the rest of the country, but it was one of the best I had in my live. You have wide a range of standard flavors, but you also had special mixes which were just the best. Very good and tasteful ice-cream with a rich decoration of nuts, cookies, chocolate, etc.
D. F.
Not only do they have amazing flavors, they're open until late. A truly great place.
S. R.
Simply the best gelato ever. Specials are hard to resist. Great in store and via Deliveroo. It’s a must do thing if you’re into gelato ..... or not
M. M.
GM is amazing, but vegan flavours should be clearly marked. This location is also really cramped and difficult for customers to move around in or even look at flavours - the layout makes things a huge rush.
Maybe if you listed the flavours on a board out the front, there would be less of the uncomfortable rush of trying to see everything in the brief moment before ordering
M. R.
so nice! i dropped my ice cream and they gave me a new one for free. so nice. thank you so much
A. D.
One of the best Gelatos I have ever tasted. I came here without any expectations and my God..It’s amazing. It can be kinda crowded during peak hours but the queue is worth it. Would eat this everyday if I can. It has some amazing vibes too and the staff are friendly.
H. T.
Never disappointed by any gelato I pick here. Usually get a flavour from the specials, but staff will let you try as many as you like before you pick. Great prices as always and they take card now which is amazing. Staff attentive in serving but can get very crowded in there.
K. M.
I was very impressed by the range of flavours they had on offer, thankfully they do the taste testing before you buy to help you pick the best one. Some of the flavours are unique, I hadn't come across them before. As well as cones and little cup/tubs, they do large containers too so you can buy 1L, 0.5L of ice-cream or gelato if you'd like.
S. S.
Messina is well worth the hype - simply the best ice cream I've ever had. The place is always buzzing, the staff are cool and friendly and never get fazed by the numbers. The flavours are unusual and they have an innovative roster of specials which I've never seen repeated. The ice cream itself is delicious and great value. All round winner!
N. N.
Love Gelato Messina. Yummy flavours and nice smooth texture. Recommended.
K. B.
Good variety of flavours. But no tables.
A. M.
Always my fav- mint chocolate!!!
Never have enough !!
J. H.
So many flavors, it's always so hard to choose, but the staff are friendly and willing to let you try a few before you settle on one or two. I got the white chocolate hazelnut which was to die for - might not be your favorite if you prefer fruit flavors instead. Also, the cone looked delicious and my friend loved it and I'm definitely regretting that I didn't get it.
M.
Great ice cream shop on Crown street, quality of the ice cream is always good, sometimes you have to wait in line, normally moves fast. With so many different flavours of ice cream to choose from, you are spoiled for choice!
P. M.
By far our favorite place to get Gelato. I find the small size single scoop is just right to feed the usual ice cream fix. The place is usually quite busy in the evenings but during the day you can usually get in and out really quick. Favourite flavour that I keep going back for is the Apple Pie. The cakes in the window also look quite delectable.
A. S.
The secret about Messina Gelato is knowing to ask for tastes. You see, they are obliged to let you taste as many flavours as you like so that you can get the perfect taste next for your state of mind at that moment when you are standing in front of the plentiful offering they have. My favourite is the chocolate and peanut butter however never miss the specials on the board for you will discover Hidden Pleasures that you could never imagine and if you don't read the small writing you missed the chance for a once-in-a-lifetime taste Bonanza.

The BEST the BEST ice cream I've ever had!!
I love ice cream and I can't imagine there's a better one than this one.
So smooth and intense in flavour, the cakes looking amazing too.
Compare to other ice cream shops in Sydney, it's not even that expensive.
Enjoy the week specials that change every week, it tastes just like so unique and GOOOOD!
Ice cream recommendation in Sydney!
I. H.
Lots of unique flavours and the quality of the gelato is great! They are being very covid safe, the apple pie gelato was amazing!
V. N.
So good.. always has great specials too
B. D.
It’s really all about the specials at Gelato Messina. Their general selection of regular flavors doesn’t get me in the door, but do check out some of the creative weekly flavors (via social media) before spending the calories. When it’s good, it’s great (Robert Brownie Jnr) but other times I’d look elsewhere for dessert.
K. K.
The best gelato I've ever tasted! Go for the specials for something quirky, they always have something new! They have flavours you can't even imagine - be adventurous and you'll be pleasantly surprised. The line is usually long late at night but it's totally worth it.
M. B.
Best ice cream in the world. Dulce de leche is amazing. Really sweet though so not for everyone!
C. L.
Ah Messina, got to love this place. It’s my top destination to take any out of town guests, and there are so many branches now!
Always check out the specials before heading in, even if you don’t, there’s 40 different flavours to choose from, no lack of choices there!
For the Surry Hills branch, I would usually grab a cone, and head to the open space next to the library where you can sit on the grass and watch people and cars go by.
H. L.
Always delicious ice cream 😋😋
T. K.
Best gelato I have had in Sydney thus far. Great flavors to be found with new special flavors every day. A must go to if you love gelato. Be aware, they take cash only or their Messina App for payment and on weekends, the place gets pretty busy. But, lines move quick since staff are great.
P. B.
The best gelato, it is not traditional but super tasty. Aside from the 20+ flavours they regularly have there is also around 5 specials they rotate from week to week (check their Instagram for details). It can be busy at times so be prepared to wait or just order through a delivery app
S. L.
This is my absolutely favourite gelato place. Never really a queue, and if so it always goes quick. The selection of flavours plus the weekly specials are incredible and flavoursome! I just very much dislike how they run out of the specials so early into the night :(
M. M.
I had lost my phone and it’s actually my birthday and my card was in the phone with all my birthday money on it they were so helpful! The two girls that were working were so kind and emphatic! The manager checking the cameras was really nice and helpful, I appreciate all the lengths they went too! One of the girls suggested ‘find my phone’ and it worked! It was next door!!!! So thank you so much!!!! I wish I could hug you all
S. O.
The original fantasy land of gelato. I found the crew at Surry Hills always willing to please. The flavours speak for themselves. Don't hesitate to immerse yourself in the excitement.
M. A.
You can usually be assured of good gelato at Messina and a visit to Surry Hills did not disappoint! Aside from the usual great flavors including the dairy free range one of the specials today knocked my socks off - Nuts About Jaffa should be a regular flavor!! Yum!! 🍨 would love to see more citrus and chocolate combos on the menu!!
D. T.
Good selection of gelato, and they always have something new to try out. My fav gelato place in Surry Hills
P. O.
Great selection of Gelatos and Sorbets on the menu. No coffee unfortunately. We were able to saunter down from dinner and was confronted with a long display of flavours that's always worth the wait.
The new Leaf Leaf Bang Bang (mango, coconut, panda) and Salted Caramel were my favourite selections on this sitting. But I can never escape from the Pistachio either. Thumbs up for their experimenting flavours like the last reviewer.
Extra thumbs up for having a dedicated usher at the front to guide us into the store.
S. C.
Trendy ice-cream vendor in a trendy area. Small store, often busy. The wide variety of choices is worthy of the hype & wait. Weekly specials are always creative & imaginative. My tip: purchase your ice-cream and continue to lick as you stroll along.
C. B.
I love the crazy flavours Messina comes up with. Crazy in a good way. It amazes me how their different combinations just seem to marry up! I never order their usual flavours - always try their specials! One of the best gelato places in Sydney.
H. M.
Delicious!! So many flavors to choose from. Had the Sanga special burnt vanilla with orange cake and fudge..yummy!! Hubs has milk chocolate with peanut butter fudge also quite good. Fun atmosphere. Great service.
A. W.
Great selection of gelato with good quality. Reasonable prices.
Ask to try first if you want to sample new flavours.
Small outlet, but has seating available indoors and outside.
Toilet available.
T. K.
I've eaten ice cream at A LOT of places, and some of them have better tasting ice cream than Messinas. But NONE of them have as consistently great tasting ice cream across the board, and such new cool flavours all the time. Messina has a reputation for a reason - consistently great ice cream!
L. P.
Gelato Medsina is a must...the only problem is choosing which incredible flavor to try. They also make extraordinary ice cream cakes. I bought one for my friend that was like a fairy mushroom...3 flavors and popping candy grass. Yep...popping candy grass. Everyone loved it!
P. W.
The ice creams really are excellent and the flavours are interesting. I was lucky in that I managed to walk straight up to the counter and order but by the time I walked out there was a queue out the door. Will go back and work my way through the flavours...
K. H.
Not a lot of space to move around in, and the line can get ridiculous. The ice creams are nice and have a wide variety, but you can end up trapped inside the store after getting your order on a busy night. I once got stuck inside and kind of pushed into this little alcove with a seat and table and forced to wait for people to shove their way out and the crowds to clear before I could escape.
D. H.
Gf said it's the best icecream she ever had
M. R.
Really great customer service with huge scoops of ice cream!
E. O.
You can get tubs of icecream here! What!?! Awesome. Icecream was delicious as always. Waiting area is a little small if there are a lot of people on the shop. However, service was fast and we weren't waiting long at all.
G. M.
So much tasty ice cream! The last one I got was the mushroom cake.
J. v. B.
An awesome ice cream shop with delicious special flavours, wish it was larger as the shop gets very hectic. Staff are busy and do their best to facilitate tastings where possible but not as generous as other places. A real shame that it is cash only, app payments can be clunky.
C.
There are too many favours to choose from, so if it's your first time go with the Salted Caramel (the best and everyone's favourite) and keep the line moving. You can always come back to try the other flavours. Go in early to make sure you get your desired scoop as the place is very popular with locals.
G. D.
Nice staff. Expensive gelato
K. G.
The ever-changing specials always keep me coming back for more. The creativity and variety of the flavours ensure there is always something new and delicious to try and the friendly staff are always willing to help you decide with a taste test.
There is always a line, but it tends to move quickly and is usually worth the wait!
W. L.
Messina never disappoints. Went for ice cream dessert twice in a week at this outlet, and at different times, once in the late afternoon, one just before closing time. Both times, it was packed with customers. Staff was super friendly and efficient, despite the crowd.
M. F.
You know what. This place is on my birthday must eat list. I will have Lemon and Passion fruit gelato every year on my day. Of cause come here enjoy my favourite gelato when I want to. So many options never sick of it. Yum.
D. C.
Best ice cream in Sydney hands down. Great Sydney institution. All the crazy flavours are a lot of fun and the classics are just as delicious. The apple pie flavour and the White choc salted caramel are personal favourites.
J. M.
Always delicious, they have options for dairy free, take cash or card, and even replaced my husband's 2 scoop cone for free when the top scoop fell off 3 steps out the door. Only downside (which is nothing really) is the people who need to Instagram their purchases before they leave the store, blocking the way for everyone else!
P. “.
Best gelato in Australia. Just as good as the good ones in Italy. Really tasty, creamy and yummy. Don't eat sorbet try the actual ice cream (gelato) ones. My favourite flavours are - Pistachio, Figs in Marcela, Lychee & Coconut, salted caramel & coffee, all the ones with chocolate, you can always taste a flavour before you buy one.
B. G.
Fantastic Gelato! The Chocolate is to die for
B. K.
Yum is the only word I can describe it in, very close to the Gelatos that I tried in Roma. Great and helpful staff happy to answer any naive questions. Thank you
L. H.
Messina is my safe place. Best ice cream ever and the flavors keep on coming.
Love anything cheesecake, brownie or pistachio, yum, yum, yum!
S. C.
After years of walking past and giving up on the enormous queue, I discovered the secret of getting in quick! Come early in the day! We arrived on a Sunday about 1pm and walked straight in. The gelato here is amazing and really reasonable ($4 a pop!) The only problem you'll have is which flavour to choose, there are always so many! The specials are too good to resist. I tried the Old Gregg, Baileys gelato with a butterscotch swirl and it tasted as heavenly as it sounds. Only better!
A. M.
I like trying out their experimental flavours as some of the combinations seem/sound weird, but do work surprisingly well together. They also do the classic flavours really well, so there's a good chance you'll find something to tickle your taste buds!
T. L.
Even though there was a queue, their quick service meant little wait time, had the pistachio x macadamia mix, love the addition of real tidbits of macadamian nuts to give it that exciting crunch! Would I come again, definitely!!! My friend had the coconut x durian and that was just as good, it gave that cooling effect feeling one experiences when on a beach holiday~
L. T.
best ice cream around, I absolutely recommend taking a look at the specials and trying something new, you might be surprised!
R. M.
Famous but somewhat over-hyped Surry Hills establishment. Wonderful ice creams and sorbets. Pick a basic option unless you're for the sweet ones...I find some overly complicated and too sweet.
Often super busy especially evenings. One of a chain...but good little place.
Cash only and the closest major bank ATM is ages away.
K. S.
Such a great location right in the heart of Surry Hills. Staff is generally really friendly, but I wish they accepted cards and not just cash... Or make their app available on Android, too. The special gelato flavors always keep things interesting.
M. K.
Love to have ice cream @messina
C. R.
I'm lactose intolerant, so my go to flavours are coconut lychee and mango, we usually get a big tub because it's always busy at night when we go there ❤️ service always great.
A. O.
This ice cream is like made in heaven <3 great variety of tastes, crunchy corns. Tiny scoop costs $4, normal - $4.8. I wish they had some discounts for regular customers... I am spending here a fortune 😂😂😂
Y. S. (.
I love gelato, this one is a must try! Put it in your list. The variety are a lot. Taste are amazing. The only thing I don't like is the queue... It's very long queue because it's really good! I came arround 9pm which I think the best time to enjoy gelato.
I tried the honey-honey. It's special edition.
G. C.
As you can see from the pic of the menu, the flavours here are incredible. I opted for Twixed & Bounty, and both were just as good as I expected. There are always long lines out the front for a reason - this gelato is consistently fantastic. But don't be put off by the lines. Messina has serving down to a fine art, and you'll be at the front of the line within about 5 mins max. Definitely worth it!
M. B.
Been going since 2004, always brilliant. Amazing variety of flavours, excellent quality. A great treat. My favourites were Lime Cheesecake, Gianduia, and Baklava. Thanks Messina!
H. V.
Best gelato in town. Expect to wait in line every night of the week. The staff manage the line by encouraging people to double-up inside, so I've never waited longer than 15 minutes. Check their Twitter @Gelato_Messina for daily specials.
B. J.
Gelato Messina never fails to impress me with their nifty staff, all their hybrid and clever flavour fusions, specials of the week and the quality of gelato that they provide upon each visit, and it's the same quality across all their stores, absolutely highly recommend.
E. M.
Great gelato with different specials every week. Good music too however it can be loud. Lack of seating with only a bench inside and 2 small round tables with a few chairs on the outside. Reach out for drinking water from within the right of the counter.
K. B.
Love the taste, love the quality it’s literally one of a kind with marvelous flavors that will bring your taste buds to the surprise
B. M.
Have a soft spot for this store as it's the first time experiencing Messina Gelato. A fantastic little store delivering amazing gelato.
Be aware however that it's often busy (line down the street) and is more expensive than typical gelato places.
T. W.
It's hard to resist a good gelato and when they are as good as the ones Messina churn out, resistance is futile. I love the fact that they bring out special flavours each week, you'll get to try something new every time you step into the store. My all time favourite has to be "yoghurt & berry" from their regular menu, it's absolutely delightful, creamy but light at the same time. Some memorable specials are "boss' wife" (hazelnut and coffee gelato with white chocolate and hazelnut praline ganache), "malted double choc" (malt chocolate gelato with chocolate brownie) and most recent "have a gay old time" (swirls of caramel and milk gelato with bits of chocolate covered biscuit crumbs). I don't think I've had this much gelato, especially in winter, since, well, ever!
S. L.
I don't even know where to begin to describe how amazing this gelato place is! Their flavours - some of which sound bizarre - are sensational. Follow them on Instagram or Facebook to get info on their latest flavours or, better still, drop by and try some: you won't be disappointed.
M. V.
The well known Sydney's gelato shop serving funky flavours with weekly specials. Never disappoints. Expect long queues on hot summer days. Well worth the wait.
D. K.
If you love ice cream, then you're gonna love Messina. I know the whole queuing up will put people off but you don't go for ice cream when you're hungry so a little wait isn't going to hurt anyone right? What I love about the Surry Hills Messina is that there's a park across the road to go enjoy your ice cream afterwards. I always go for the specials so can't really recommend any flavours but I don't think you can go wrong.
The ice cream cakes, as amazing as they sound and look, I'm not a hug fan. Maybe we never let them sit out for long enough but they weren't the easiest to break into and the effort just wasn't quite worth it. Stick to the scoops of gelato goodness in the form of cups or cones instead.
E. T.
This place is overrated and the gelato is too sweet. However no one can deny the taste of and this is certainly good (i admit somewhat grudgingly) . But it's not great and if you want GREAT and authentic gelato, there are much better places to try. Please don't line up for this. You look silly!
B. W.
Hands down THE best ice cream anywhere ever. Their flavours are out of control. Messina’s is a must do for ice cream lovers world wide omg so amazing!
L. F.
The best ice creamery in town. Cheekiest of date spots, with a conveniently placed park across the road perhaps for a cheeky hookup after desert (don't worry I wont tell ). New and unusual flavours every week, but if you're like me and a creature of habit, you wont be able to go past the salted caramel, its out of this world, get one, now.
이.
salted caramel+chocolate fodant and tiramisu+macadamia crunch
quiet good!
C. T.
Completing the trifecta, Messina in Surry Hills is another sublime example of Gelato at it's best. If you are in the area and a tourist, stop by for the best gelato you'll get in Australia. If you are a local and haven't been, what's the wait? The gelato is creamy, the prices reasonable, the servings generous (usually) and the variety of flavours top-notch. It can be daunting to get to the shop and see a big lineup, but well worth the wait. If you are unsure of what to get, feel free to ask for a sample! It just might be a bit difficult if the place is packed with hungry denizens!
M. D.
This place gets absolutely slammed but they are always very efficient and friendly despite the crush of people. Even if the service was terrible, I would stand on a queue for a week to eat the ice cream. Banana split and salted caramel with white chocolate are the best!
N. S.
Best place to get your sweet cravings fixed, especially on a hot day. Tried finding the same taste elsewhere but to no avail. Messina is still the best.
C. X.
Worth the trip when it's not peak (social) hours, sometimes the line is just ridiculously long but it's almost always worth the wait. Lots of rotating flavours so there's always something new to try unless you're one of those people who get the salted caramel every time (nothing wrong with that!)
A. S. (.
My favourite flavour here is their Salted Caramel with White Chocolate. Having tried many of their flavours, I find that their gelato tend to be more on the sweet side...to the extent that it can be too sweet.
Their creative names is as creative as their flavours.
T. D.
Delicious and DIVINE. I cannot believe that this gelato did not win the best gelato in the world award this year.
Great selection of guest flavours, some of them with novelty titles (the lime in the coconut), the salted caramel is always a favourite as is their passion fruit sorbet, they always have ingenuity in their guest flavouring too, peanut butter flavours also being a firm favourite. Despite the huge queues these move very fast and they don't mind you sampling quite a few flavours. Cow and Moon should take note of their fast queuing system.
L. P.
Great gelato with interesting and dynamic flavours. The team there always have new flavours to try and they are always great quality. As this is one of the best providers of gelato in sydney expect to pay a little more but the quality is worth it. A must try if visiting sydney however can be very busy at peak times.
E. N.
Best gelato in town. This is my preferred branch of Messina's, the queues are a lot more organised. Perfect spot to grab dessert after dinner, considering that most restaurants in the area charge expensive prices for an inferior quality of dessert. I do like their experimental flavours. Location is a pretty far to walk from the city but if you are in the area it's worth the trek.
R. G.
I could travel all over the world and still say Gelato Messina is the best ice cream I've ever had. You can't go past the salted caramel and white chocolate, bounty, dulche du leche and giandua blanca flavours. The specials, which change weekly, also need to be considered when ordering. Don't be intimidated by the line, it moves quickly. If you can't decide, or want your icecream to last the week, the takeaway tubs are a great option. For special occassions, I would also recommend purchasing one of the incredible cakes! You can order online and pick up from the Darlinghurst storefront. We just need one to open up on the North side of Sydney so we don't have to go over the bridge every time we want a sweet hit!
N. S.
One of the few places that have truly earned the long lines that snake outside their shop. The gelato flavour are unique, bold and just that little bit cheeky, with new specials on almost every week. My favorite are the classics like peanut butter gelato, salted caramel, and belgian chocolate.. Yumm..And if you are ever in a celebratory mood and feel like eating some ice cream cake, which really looks like an art piece, and tastes as good as it looks, head here! They come with a price tag but are oh so worth it!
T. N.
Don't just buy a cone, get a tub. So much more cheaper and you get more ice cream. It's a win-win situation. So crazy, the line up can sometimes go down the street and there are people still there late at night lining up. My advice is to try everything, especially the ones on the special menu.
T. C.
Very dim lighting. The small space offers a large selection of high quality gelato. Check the current specials for uniquely fortified flavour combinations.
A. Z.
Interior's been renovated recently.
F. T.
I love Messina and they gave me the biggest gelato here. I wish the gelato was kept a bit colder cause otherwise it melts really fast on hot days but overall I love Messina.
A. W. (.
Always walking past I saw the line up of customers and I never went in. On a weekday I walked past with a few Google Plussers and went in - I got the coconut Pandan Gelato and a scoop of Blood Orange - OMG this is the most amazing thing I have tasted. It was worth every cent and it was not expensive as well. Friends had the Salted Caramel which looked great and they ate it all without offering me anything so that is the next thing to try!
S. H.
One of the best Gelatos I have ever tasted. The specials are always good but you can't go wrong with the salted caramel flavour.
하.
yoghurt caramel flavor was so perfect for me!
E. B.
The 5 weekly specials mean that you find your self in the ridiculous queue more often than you should be. Classic gelato flavours as well as some very creative concoctions... Be prepared to wait, morning noon and night... You be the judge if it was worth it.
M. P.
Classic stop in crown st. You will see people lining up to get dessert or a treat. My favs are anything with dulce de leche, salted coconut with caramel
D. S.
Had one scoop of the Nic-Pic special... Wow! It was delicious. Massive clusters of nuts and wafers mixed throughout the chocolate gelato. Delicious! My only regret is not buying a take-home tub
양.
Awesome. I love pistachio flavor
C. S.
The ice cream is good, but has nothing to do with Italian gelato! This is way sweater and thicker. Good for a treat but don’t come here thinking of a refreshing sorbetto al limone...
D. F.
There's a reason why there's always a queue and why new Messina ventures are popping up all over Sydney. The venture in Surry Hills is no different. This is incredibly good gelato that is constantly evolving by way of a bevy of interesting flavours that appear weekly. You can't go by the old favourites of blood orange and salted caramel, or even chocolate fondant and classic lemon. A truly deserving Sydney institution.
S. P.
Simply amazing ice cream. Worth every calorie. Top flavours include, hazelnut, bounty, apple pie and salted caramel.
W. B.
Are you ready for a crazy gelato adventure? That's exactly what you'll get if you dare to explore their specials board. Superb gelato with some absolutely bonkers flavours like the Maple syrup gelato with bacon maple gel and blueberry pancake batter. If you think the options are just a little too crazy, just try it! You may be surprised, these guys know how to pair flavours.
Occasionally the line to get in stretches on forever down the block, however, it does move fairly quickly and usually it isn't too bad.
C. F.
This place is shiny. If you miss the shiny-ness, you won't miss the line that constantly marks the entrance of this Sydney institution. They have a reputation for a reason; their gelato is unique and texture is always on point. Whether a cinnamon scroll inspired pick or a classic tiramisu one, the experience is one of texture as well as taste. Don't be turned off by the line. It quickly moves along. If you need a night cap, after spending an evening at a bar or restaurant at Crown St, you can look forward to this place. Central Station is about a 15 minute walk uphill but it's worth the loss of some calories to make room for these delights.
T. N.
The queues day and night say everything. You don't have to be a gelato fan to love Messina, it tastes amazingly rich. Flavours change regularly giving more reasons to come back.
G. S.
Great quality ice cream, has a core range of flavours and also unique combinations that change weekly. Can get crowded but queues moves relatively quickly.
R. H.
big fish, plenty of em, great boat ramp. always a lovely day out at this little gem of a fishing spot, whether its just you, you and the young one or you and the boys
S. R.
As a man who subscribes to the always-room-for-ice-cream philosophy of life, Messina delivers some of the best Sydney has to offer. Always the most mouth watering lineup of flavours: particularly recommend the apple pie, and the pav is hard to beat.
W. F. E.
Whether you are a tourist or a local everyone has heard of Gelato Messina. With my GM virginity being broken, I was ready to go back and try some different flavours.
On this occasion I ordered the Vanilla Manjar (Vanilla gelato w dulce de leche filled donuts and salted roasted almond flakes) and the Heisenberg, the bright purple froyo (Blueberry Yoghurt Gelato with crystallised violets).
Both were very unique flavours which were worthwhile trying but quite compete with my last apple pie experience which I wrote about last time here.
Prices $4 per scoop

Second best gelato place around! The specials are always good but you can't go wrong with the salted caramel flavour.
b. t.
My favourite ice cream place in the whole of Sydney and take it from an Italian!!
I want more of this flavour, MESSY JULIETTE - strawberry gelato with marsala soaked sponge and whipped vanilla cream.. totally divine!!
J. P. (.
You just got to love the dairy free chocolate icecream along with some other amazing dairy free options! Although it comes at a price, it's definitely worth spending on a hot summer day.
D. M.
The best ice cream in Sydney hands down. Love their mint choc chip and salted Carmel with white choc. The strawberry sorbet and always willing to give one of their specials a try
M.
So good‼️
C. B.
These guys don't just make gelato: They are arists
The attention to detail and the quality of ingredients is ridiculously good and the price is less than you would expect for such a high quality offering.
30 people lined up? No worries, you'll still get your order in under 3 mins pretty much every time
T. S.
DO NOT go to Gelato Messina after dinner on any night. Go in the afternoon. If you don't heed this advice, you will be stuck in line for 2 hours for GELATO.
That being said, it is fantastic gelato, all made from fresh ingredients and not very expensive.
C. J.
Delicious! Definitely stop by for dessert if you have time! A very fun store! no where to sit or relax, but we just took our cones and walked back to our apartment.
A. S.
Did the cooking class with these boys 10/10 they put so much time effort into what they make. You can tell once you taste the quality and jump in the huge queue lol! Keep up the good work this place is awesome! Salted Caramel is the bomb
S. M.
One of my favourite ice cream places. Their weekly specials are always interesting. A must try place if you like gelato !
C. D.
The best gelato I've ever had, filled with chunks and so many flavours to choose from. The specials are always more amazing
I. K.
BY THE TEARS OF THE GODS, THIS IS PLACE IS DELICIOUS! The only time Gelato Messina have EVER disappointed me was when I was ambling home at midnight on a Wednesday night & they were shut. I mean how dare they only stay open until 23:30 on a Wednesday?
A. S.
Came here after dinner one night and decided to try out one of their 'flavours of the week.' Again this place delivers in quality and quantity and value for money. My favourite flovour is currently the bounty but im sure that is going to change the next time i enter this amazing gelato shop.
M. M.
The ice cream is very good, but they don't have a credit card machine. You can pay via the app though, but it is slightly annoying. It's open until quite late.
P. D.
Open late, this ice cream join serves up some creative flavors including 8 or so vegan options. Try the coconut sorbet with mango salsa.
T.
Love the gelato, soo yummy 😋
D. Y.
You can travel to italy and you can hop over to melbourne but the best of the best in gelato is truly Messina Gelato. On first look you would think this place is a night club however, you will notice that the menu changes daily with combinations that almost sound like they belong in cakes. As my friends would say this is the closest slice of heaven for your taste buds that you will ever taste!!!!!
A. G.
Absolutely amazing number of flavours to choose from. If you are having dinner in the area skip dessert and head here you will find at least one flavour to your liking. Delicious!
V. K. (.
Be selective of the flavours. Some of them are great!
m. K.
It's super smooth and fresh many flavors you will get confused what to choose which flavor to pick. It's definitely the best gelato in Sydney
L. R.
Gelato Messina is a Sydney institution. Gelato flavours are absolutely delicious and their new flavours every week are always worth trying out. For any visitor this place is a must
J. H.
Amazing gelato. Good prices. I have been let down by the creamy flavours but that's what Ben and Jerry's are for. Always a must when you're visiting Surrey Hills.
R. B.
Many delicious flavours of gelato and sorbet. Very popular; sometimes people queue to buy. Worth every cent!
S. L.
great ice cream shop, very well known and often visited by locals. They very good with rotating the specials/flavours on a weekly basis and coming up with different combos.
H. K.
Fantastic ice cream....the pandan coconut flavour reminds me of chendol without the palm sugar. Cures my homesickness of having a pandan flavoured dessert. Kids loved the mango n chocolate.
N. H.
Yummy gelato to try. Friendly staffs.
M. C.
Pretty overrated in my opinion. Not to say its bad, but I suspect that most of the people queuing outside haven't tried the competition. I must admit the names they come up with are witty, but they all invariably end up tasting like caramel to me. Would go if I was in the area, and there was no queue, but definitely wouldn't drive out of my way for it.
T. W.
This is place is to die for. Hands down best gelato I have ever had. I highly recommend the hazelnut but take your time choosing as the staff are friendly and always willing to give you a little taste!
K. Y.
Fantastic service. My ice cream on cine flopped and dropped unto the ground. Lady server replaced it on a cup. No charge despite me willing to pay for it. Will come back again!
C. M.
Amazing as always! The staff are great always attentive and they let you try as many as you want and wait patiently while you take forever to decide on which perfectly mixed flavours of ice cream you want.
R. S.
Just 'out of this world' authentic gelato. Alot of tlc has gone into their flavours! The qeue says it all as well. That's all part of the atmosphere though, lining up with all the ice cream lovers with a menu in your hand, dueling over all the flavours!
B. B.
Amazing selection of gelato in the store.
Small and cozy place, don't expect seating for groups but the gelato is completely worth it. Try the samples!!
P. S.
Interesting flavours, nice ice creams and sorbets. Despite being very busy on a Friday night, we didn't wait more than 10 min to get our cup of gooey goodness.
T. M.
I have been only once to this place and was genuinely impressed with variety of ice cream flavours offered. Not to say that the one I picked had superb taste.
I. D.
Hey its good ice cream .... don't need to say any more than that.
C. S.
Such a large selection of flavors to choose from. Came at night and the place was buzzing. Had to wait a while in line but well worth it.
M. G.
It's a small store but have amazingly delicious flavors of ice cream ❄. It's waffle cone has a good flavor of its own.
J. C.
Always creative w their specials and their flavours are always so amazing! Generous scoops as well! Great atmosphere
S. K.
Always packet but now i know why, gelato so nice, full of flavors, generous scoops, i really like the gelato cakes this stuff is really addictive haha
G. C.
Yummy gelato. I picked a really sweet one but my second flavour was spot on. Only a small shop so we sat on the wall across the road.
J. T.
An awesome gelato Shop! Huge range of delicious gourmet flavours. Can get heaps busy at night. Cash only, no EFTPOS
J. A.
Does this even need an explanation? Go and visit and see for yourself, the gelato is TO DIE FOR.
Sometimes there's massive lines, so you could also opt for Uber or a similar delivery service if you're local, but then again if you're local, you already know how good this is!
T. O.
Really good ice cream. Fast, easy, friendly service!
E. M.
A pleasant experience if there are no lines. Cow and moon has better tastes of the 'old faithfuls' but the flavours are more exciting at Messina.
A. S.
Can you go wrong with a place that has so many delicious flavours of ice cream? I think not. My go to place for a sweet fix.
J.
It's ok, but I think there is better gelato Sydney. I never understood the hype. Also, there's a sign that says "Cash only, #sorrynotsorry"--Yeah? well have 3 stars rather than 4. #sorrynotsorry. Leaving obnoxious notes to your customers isn't nice.
B. J.
Not bad. But somehow it misses the punch that it's sister shop at Victoria Street has. Is it the people? The music? Is it the service? I know it is not the ice creams. But cannot put my finger to it.
V. F.
The gelato are good, but really nothing amazing and I certainly dont get why so many people are waiting for ages only for ice-cream (it is not even summer yet !)
C. G.
Delicious! There are so many flavours that I have to keep coming back. I recommend getting a tub and taking it home so you have a supply in your freezer. Also check out the specials board
D. E.
I love the gelato here. Saw Shia Lebouf here one time and the chick behind the counter went mental. Thought that was pretty funny. Good selection of gelato and they also have specials.
A. L.
Very good Italian gelato. A real pleasure finding a place where you can find Gianduja chocolat.
Many incredible flavours and unexpected ones
L. L.
Great Gelato good variety of flavors friendly.staff a bit small for wheelchair customers but manageable
L. L.
The weekly specials keep you coming back for more no matter on the weather or time... The layout isn't the best to handle the masses that come to this institution. Best value is to grab yourself a 0.5L tub for $10!!
S. B.
The ice cream was reasonably good. Cash only was a problem.
L. S.
Fantastic gelato.
J. B. W.
the ice cream in messina is better than ice
D. B.
While the selection is good and creative they don't have card facilities (which for a food chain you'd expect to have) so if you don't carry cash the process can be quite annoying as you must either download an app or pay $2.80 transaction fee by the nearest atm
J. F.
Awesome Gelato, great flavours. Crowded & long queues. it's more of a takeout place than a sit-down ice cream parlour.
H. W.
Phenonemal vegan ice cream. Never had sorbet so smooth and creamy. Felt exactly like dairy ice cream!
&.
If you want Gelato this is the place to visit. The area is chilled, venue is small but awesome, and the staff is super helpful with flavor selection (which is plenty) and assisting you where you got to go (if needed of course).
A. Y.
Good ice cream. Salted caramel is really good
R. S.
It was for my first visit, but its the one of the best place for ice cream from variety of flavours to choose from. Amazing
P. O.
So very many delicious flavors & the staff are always so friendly. Great even in winter.
J. H. P.
I heard this is the original Messina, it is a little bit small and always crowded, so kinda hard to ask for tasting, but still a good place to hang out.
G. G.
Literally the best gelato, filled with chunks, so many flavours to choose from, specials are always a highlight
R. V.
The apple pie and all other flavors are made daily with fresh ingredients onsite. Don’t make the mistake I did by only getting one scoop
M. P.
Great ice cream choice with a whole bunch of flavours that I have never come across. Go and eat ice cream. Mmmmmmm.
M. C. N.
Very creative flavours like coconut lemons cheesecake and yummy taste, however a little too sweet for me.
P. Q.
Good selection of flavors, and the special flavors are always worth a taste. Very little seating here though, so count on taking away. Also cash only!
J. M.
Who doesn't like icecream! And these guys do a great job of making it... As cliche as it might be, the salted caramel is amazing
E. v. d. L.
Nothing is better than the salted caramel flavour! I could (/have) eat tubs of it! This is one 'must do' for visitors to Sydney who haven't tried it before.
J.
Delicious soulful experience. Touches the depth of my soul!
A. D.
Great ice cream - excellent new flavours brought out all the time. Buy the factory tour for a special treat for someone special!
S. K.
I love Messina's gelato. The Surry Hills branch was a bit too small when it got crowded like 'Messina crowded' style, but hey! It was a part of the Messina experience, right?
H. C.
Crowded, often a wait or queue, but famously good ice cream for fair prices. Interesting flavours and range.
k. l.
Service for allergies is quite accommodating. Although they still can't make any guarantees, they do what they can. Flavours are very strong.
T. D.
Amazing gelato, lovely staff.
Always ask to try a few flavours to get the real experience!
T. S.
So many different specials, change all the time, always great Icecream, you might have to stand in line for a bit, but worth it!
c.
I was introduced to this place by a friend and have to say it is the best place for ice cream in Sydney. When I went they were queing outside until 11:30pm!!! This place is a must
D. H.
A little pokey but no different really from any other Messina experience. Nice to eat amazing gelato in the park across the road. Always try the specials!
G. L.
4 stars for the helpful staff! Good range of vegan options but I'd say they're a bit pricey for what you're paying for, too sweet for me too...
N. P.
It's a bit clichéd but this really is top notch ice cream. I rarely look beyond the specials but Bounty forever holds a place in my affections
A. H.
ice cream that trenches your taste buds and takes you to Lala land, just love it very great range to choose from and always a long que at the shop
Z. O.
This place is the best!!! I went there sooo many times. The flavours of ice creams there are really interesting and good!
A.
Nice ice cream (gelato) but I can't see what all the hype is about I've had much better with a better service experience and shorter to no wait times.
N. T.
Lovely gelato! Had chocolate sorbet for the first time - perfect for dark chocolate lovers who can't stand milk chocolate.
R. A. S.
Amazing ice cream with inventive flavours. They're able to answer which of them are gluten free with no hassle.
M. B.
They serve the most fantastic gelato in Sydney! Love the costumer service, very friend people
K. H.
I'm quote happy to circle the streets for a parking space just to come into this outlet. Being rhe original, it has some cool feel about it. Iove sitting inside on the bench. Favours change daily. Can't decide? Lookup their blackboard
C. P.
People will line up around the block for this ice cream! Why? I'm not sure... But I must admit it is very delicious with some odd flavors!
J. G.
Super tasty gelato with a great range of flavours -- I had the Rocky Road and it was amazing!
M.
Iconic gelato in an iconic location. Always get the specials but be prepared for a line! (it moves quick though!)
A. C.
Love it, but I wish they had some organic ice cream options and gluten free cones.
H. P.
Always a go to place after a great night out. I recommend trying their specials... including Red Wedding. Cozy location and lovely staff.
K. M.
Great gelato with some unique flavours, but be prepared for long queues (even on weeknights!)
B. W.
What's not to love?!?! Some of the best Gelato in the country. Can be a bit of a wait and hustle but totalky worth it.
S. I.
Definitely the best gelato I've had in terms of texture of the gelato, great variety of flavors
C.
Love the ice cream specials they always come out with
K. H.
Great place to go for delicious gelato after romantic dinner in Surry Hills when you still want to spend time with your date !
J. L.
I'm not a sweets person but man, do I like their gelatos. My favourite at the moment is pandan and coconut.
D. U.
Unbelievable selection of ice cream, ever changing flavours and innovation. Great for a date, or chilling by the tv.
J. W.
Have yet to try a flavour I didn't like. The long wait can be a massive pain, as is cash payment only, but still, it's worth it
M. E. B.
The famous Messina!
The place is very small, you can only do take away.
The flavours are so originals and very nice!
Must to try!
V. P.
Always our favourite at Surry Hills. We keep coming back for Chocolate and Italian Nougat. Love it!
J. T.
Great flavors, too many to choose from! Cash only, pub next door have atm. Usually packed and no seating.
C. O.
Who would have thought that the icecream was the best part of my day during a cold winter. Absolutely loved it and will defintely be back.
J. N.
Fantastic place for gelato. Long line on a Saturday night, but it moved quickly. Not much room inside.
S. Z.
Best ice cream in central Sydney!! Try the Peanut butter flavour, you won't regret.
J. D. L. R.
I just left the surry hills gelato, and the staff was so arrogant and rude with me, I'm i lover of Messina but to be honest I don't like to be treated like my money has no value.
No cool!
C. P.
Always a line at Messina, and for a reason! Hands down the best ice cream and sorbet you can find.
D. B.
The best gelato in the world. Try 'The Bosses Wife' or plain old Hazelnut. Only problem is this can become an addiction.
A. J.
Delicious icecream, with lots of interesting flavours to choose from. Great vibe.
B. C.
The best gelato in all the land with tons of interesting limited-release flavors. The wait is worth it.
C. C.
We're gelato fiends and these guys don't have queues out the door for no reason. One of the great founders of the Sydney Gelato revolution
R. E.
Their salted caramel with white choc chips is the benchmark against which all other gelato is compared!
J. G.
Stopped by for a quick dessert. Had the "deuling banjos" and "biggie smores" the witty names we both fitting as the taste was incredible!
N. R.
Fantastic icecreaam! Staff are really lovely and professional. It can be busy sometimes but they make sure customers are not waiting for too long
B. J.
Incredible variety and every one I tasted was amazing. I got a scoop of toasted salted coconut and loved every bite. Cash only.
D. R.
Great ice cream but it gets busy later at night if it's hot.
R. S.
Now THAT is some damn good ice cream... The kinda stuff you'd actually enjoy eating on a freezing cold day!
J. R.
If you're in Sydney, you have to try the best Gelato Sydney has to offer at least once.
t. r.
Good as always. The caramel salted one was delicious
A. L.
Delish gelato, wide variety of flavours.
T. M.
One of the best ice cream places you will visit. Not much more to say.
L. L.
