Nice place with a range of flavors. We didn’t take a photo but we had the coconut mango and one of the specials they had for the week. It was pretty nice and would definitely like to try their other flavors. Service was nice as they were able to explain the flavors (as the names do not help). Just to let people know, they currently do not allow taste testing, most likely due to covid.

Was very happy the last time I had it in Dec 2020, but this time Jan 2021 I'm not at all impressed. Gelato is clearly not set, it melted quite quickly and there's ice. I was charged an extra 13 cents for paying by card, there's no signs to say that such charges apply and on the card machine it displays the price without the extra charges before you pay wave, and only after you paid the screen shows that you've been charged extra. Furthermore, green tea flavour was way too sweet. If I wanted sweet flavour I wouldve opted for chocolate or caramel.

Gelato Messina is an easy choice when it comes to ice cream. This shop is located at the Star and is quite small with limited choice but still holds up to the same standards so you can expect delicious flavours as from other shops. Because it's located at the Star it can get pretty busy but the line moves quite fast. Staff was nice and friendly too.

I had my first ever Gelato Messina experience and it was sweet! There was long time when we were there, but it moved pretty quickly. We went for 3 scoops and decided to try all of their current specials. It was very rich and delicious. Would definitely go again but might just get one scoop next time as the flavours are very rich.

Best lemon sorbet I've had in 25 years, you can really taste the lemon. You can even see pieces of zest that they've added in. Yesterday I got the salted caramel and it was way too salty but after seeing all the positive reviews I gave them a second chance and it was totally worth it. Just please don't get the salted caramel, I tried to stop that woman from getting salted caramel but she didn't believe me! Now she's in hospital with cardiovascular disease.

Definitely the best gelato place with a huge variety of non dairy sorbets available. I had the coconut and mango sorbet which was heavenly. It tasted like a Weiss Bar. The staff were really friendly and happy to let us try the different flavours.

Best Gelato ever. Whenever I go there is always a huge queue outside. Can't say anything more about it my favorite flavors have to be; Milk Chocolate with Choc Peanut Fudge , Salted Caramel with white choc chip and Dulce De Leche. The cost of the Gelato is very cheap at around $6-7 for two scoops. Great treat to have on a hot sunny day.

Honestly the Best Gelato you will ever taste! There is always a line of people waiting to order which is always a sign of a good Gelato store. The have a bountiful number of flavours and their specials always change which presents some really awesome combinations of their best Gelato and new ideas. The gelato at Gelato Messina is amazing - they have a good range of flavours which are freshly churned everyday. Lines can be long at times, but they move fast. Service is quick and efficient, although slightly abrupt at times. Plenty of seating at the Star food area which makes the Star location a lot easier then Darlinghurst.

Amazing mixes of flavours. When they say 'fig', the whole thing tastes like fig. They don't joke around. They have a selection of the basics like chocolate, but 4 different types of chocolate. Greatly located at the Star next to Lyric theater. Perfect for intervals during the show.

Be prepared to queue for your ice cream as there is always a lot of people waiting. They have a specials board with different flavours which changes regularly. It's great ice cream and there are standard and unusual flavours to try.

The ice creams here are pretty darn good. Not too sweet, and they have some pretty interesting flavours, which aren't the norm, eg, pandan and coconut, or lamington flavoured ice cream, my personal favourite, salted-caramel with white chocolate. There is always a line-up and you can always have a taste test before committing to a scoop, or two, or three :-)

All the great flavours you'd expect from Messina. The area within the casino is a little dull, but plenty of seating etc. Staff seem more efficient than in other Messina locations and queuing is orderly. Go for fast, effective service and great taste, not for a full Messina experience.

Who can resist a yummy scoop (or two) of gelato? There's always a line at Messina but every time I've visited this branch, I've been able to place an order without waiting too long. Messina changes their offerings from time to time, churning out new flavour combos that will keep you coming back. For those amongst us who are lactose intolerant, breathe easy, they also serve sorbets. My favourite flavours are anything with peanut butter and their pandan coconut flavour is also divine! TIP: If you come here with a couple of friends and don’t mind swapping spits, then order 4-5 scoops instead of your individual scoops. Simply put, Gelato Messina is THE name for Gelato in Sydney. Nobody does it better. Creamy, flavourful and generous with the serving sizes, Messina is a great spot for an after-lunch, after-dinner, or any-other-time treat. But just making great gelato (and spectacular cakes!) isn't enough for Gelato Messina, they have come up with an ingenious way to ensure people will return again and again - Constantly changing specials. Ranging from the classic (Pavlova, Lemon-Meringue Pie), to stellar recreations (Twix, Golden Gaytime), to truly bizarre and different (Satay with Pork Crackle gelato?!), you can be assured that each time you go to a Gelato Messina stand there will be something different and amazing to try. The Pyrmont location in the Star is the one I frequent and I love the location. Queues are never too bad, service is friendly and there is plenty of nearby indoor seating or outdoor parks nearby to consume the delicious treats! If you aren't currently heading towards your nearest Gelato Messina, what are you waiting for? Go forth and taste some amazing gelato!

This messina is not the main store but there is still plenty of creative flavours you can choose from. Possibly the best gelato place I been to sydney, messina is always changing and there is always a nice surprise of a new flavour to try. Some of their flavours are slighly wacky, like duck flavour. I like the fact that trying messina is trying fruits and things I never heard of. If you are ever at the star, don't forget to stop by messina. PS. you can ask to try the flavours first before you buy.

Its great to have another Messina location we can visit while in Sydney. The staff are really friendly and quite patient as you umm and ahh over all the flavors. You'll also find that there is less of a wait at this location compared to Surry Hill's. Have noticed that they don't offer the pico size here, which is a shame. Either way if you're craving gelato this is the place to go in the Darling Harbour/ Pyrmont area.

Messina does not disappoint, all the flavours are well thought-out in their conception as combination flavours but also associated flavours and ingredients truly inspired. Sitting is available at the Star and the line is usually not as long as the other branches. Full review and photos on my blog.

I've almost try every flavor there, it's not that crowed as the Darlinghust store. I do prefer this place more than the Darlinghust one if you're not looking for special flavor.

Omg yummy gelato with new flavours all the time! Be surprised by what they 'created', I tried this 'pinky piggy' a while ago and they told me it was baked bacon flavour... They are usually friendly despite being so busy and very patient when you can't make up your mind like myself, wanting all 20+ flavours in one cup!
