Ballaboosta is a bustling Mediterranean fusion restaurant with a large menu. The interior is also warming and pleasant. I tried the Inferno pizza as a main meal, which was filling and tasty. It had a nice crunch, quality ingredients and served fresh out the kitchen. Some of the servers came off a bit flippant, however it was quite busy. Also purchased a coffee and baklava for takeaway, both of which were nicely constructed and provided a perfect end to the meal.

So we had the wild mushroom pizza, Sambousik and batata fries, and the food was really tasty. The customer service was lovely, and the food came in fast. Ballaboosta has a great selection of wines as well! The ambience was calming! Wild mushroom pizza is a must!

Only reason for 4 stars is the the fattoush salad had too much lettuce, needed more of the other ingredients for $15! However I look forward to returning and trying the other menu items

The food was amazing and the setting is great for a summer night. The food/drinks came out quickly (once we were eventually served) and the wait staff were quite attentive and offered knowledgeable advice on the menu. It took 25 minutes to recieve any service after being seated, and this was only after we attempted to order at the counter.

Fantastic mix of Lebanese/Mediterranean dishes with a good selection of drinks and desserts. Thankfully we booked a table and were seated quickly but there was a line of people waiting outside with all tables (inside and out) completely full. The lamb with pine nuts for breakfast was particularly good. Would recommend booking ahead to save yourself the disappointment of potentially extended waiting times or visit during less peak hour times (given that people continually wait outside, it does reaffirm it must be a good place to eat).

The team were also so friendly and helped us secure a table but my advice would be to book as the place is absolutely packed. Great authentic food with a cool, casual ambience. Eaten there half a dozen times in the last 12 months and always satisfied. Great friendly staff who always try and accommodate, even at short notice! Highly recommend adding Hallifax St on an evening walk route.....that's how we found it 😊

Can't believe it took me 3 years to check out Ballaboosta, after hearing recommendation by friends and reading reviews , we checked out this contemporary rustic cafe. Located centrally close to Adelaide CBD Ballaboosta offers more of a Middle Eastern/Greek menu with their food prep being 💯. Every bite in every dish took me back to my Middle Eastern days! The lamb puff is a must try, it's listed under the tapas section. Such a great restaurant but please do make reservation as it gets packed!

I was recommended this place to try out. In short, food was absolutely amazing, but the service was... slow and subpar. Food came out one by one, attendance by waiters were slow but okay. Told to wait for takeaway, but had to get it myself (shoved to me) even after asking the waiters. Seems like this is a trend here based on other reviews. I probably won't be back again, but I will end with saying if you aren't fussed with service, the food here is great.

We went there for Sunday breakfast. The atmosphere and decor and location are very nice and warm. We ordered food and took us around 45 mins which was a bit too long. The food was above average but some items were a bit bland and lacking more flavour. The staff ignored us for extra pieces of freshly baked bread for 15 min which was a big disappointment when the food was cold. The coffee and fresh OG were so good. I would say that the staff need to be more friendly and professional when the place is packed and busy which we did not unfortunately feel that this time.

The menu cover is very apt. I wanted a ligtht meal, but was too late for a breakfast omlette. No matter. The waiter suggested something which was absolutely delicious and not too heavy. The coffee was perfect. The staff were friendly and know their menu. There is something wonderful about wood fired dishes, breads and pizzas. They are busy, so you may have to wait, but it's worth it. I'll be back again and again.

Initially I was just given the wrong coffee, I even checked at the time it was placed on the table as it didn't look like the right one but the waitress insisted it was the correct coffee. Five mins later (after I had drank a noticeable amount) the waitress came out and apologized, said that one was meant for my friend and gave me the one I ordered. This part was fine, after all we all make mistakes, but then 10-15 mins went by, so I asked if the (replacement) coffee for my friend was still on the way. She gave me a look of surprise and said it was the one I was given originally, and implied I should just hand it over to him. Even if it wasn't during covid, expecting that my friend should be happy to just drink a partially-consumed coffee from someone else is ridiculous. So I told her that he cannot drink that one because I've already drank from it (which was obvious as she had seen this) and asked for a new one. Another 20mins go by, so I follow up on this again. She said it's coming but that there were a lot of orders. I don't know why you wouldn't put mistake-rectifying coffees at the front of the barista queue, after all it would have been more than 30mins by then since we all ordered. He finally got his coffee after we had all finished eating, probably over 45mins since order. Food was ok. I wouldn't bother returning.

I came here 2 months ago but I just had to write this down. We visited on a Saturday, and it was super crowded then. We're forever grateful to the staff member who was able to squeeze us in. The food took a while to be served (I think it was around a 20 minute wait?) but it was really worth it. The Samaki Harra was mindblowingly good. Loved it so much. Definitely going to come back here sometime!

Nice service and........... well, at least they have nice service. They were very accommodating with the gluten free eaters and the salads were fresh and had good flavour but beyond that it's hard to find positives about the food. The Lamb skewers tasted bland and overcooked. The Barramundi was slathered in some of the heaviest sauce possible. The pizza while tasty was very sparse with its toppings. I can see the appeal to some for its atmosphere but I personally don't think it's worth a repeat.

Ballaboosta is one of the best middle eastern serving restaurant/cafe with the best fresh pita bread I have ever eaten in my life.The food is so good that you wonder why this isn’t your go to for breakfast and lunch everyday! We came here four years ago when it had just opened. It has not only maintained its high standards but definitely gained popularity due its fresh food, coffee/tea and of course pizza. Absolutely perfect for couples, individuals, families, casual lunch meetings etc. Although it has an outdoor and indoor section, it’s perfectly suitable for all weather types and all occasions. Very cozy environment and perfect service!

It's a cozy place tucked in a corner, pretty hard to miss. Walking through the outdoors sitting into the beautiful eatery. Service was quite good and prompt, the food in comparison was amazing. The ambience is relaxing even with the bustling customers they have. Really nice job done by the servers. P.S. : Definitely don't miss out on the cocktails!!

Very relaxed atmosphere. Welcoming staff. They have picked a nice location, even though on a street in the city, is nice and quiet. Hutt St is just up the road but can't hear much traffic. They offered a varied menu and it's best shared. My partner and I had a couple of dips, a nice selection from their mezes and a pizza to finish it off. Their description of Mediterranean meets Middle East is a perfect description. All tasty and freshly made. Pizzas in particular was tasty and can see it cooking in their wood fired oven. All up, a nice, easy evening. And reasonably priced. This was our mistake, some of their outdoor seats are in the sun so best to specify if comfortable in the sun or not. The staff were very accommodating and allowed us to move table inside. - All the above still applies. Went again tonight. Very delicious again. We tried the cabbage rolls, very tasty. And still very reasonable pricing.

Wait staff were very accommodating. We booked dinner for a group of 10 on a cold Adelaide night (seated outside)...and the staff went out of their way to ensure we were warm and comfy. The food, entrees and mains came out in a timely manner. Everything was delicious! Well flavoured, delicious and generous in their serving. Great range of food options to choose from. Desserts were also divine...home made with a good mix of traditional and your regulars. Would definitely return.

The fattoush salad was fresh and the freshly-baked flat bread was great to pair with the hummus which was a very small serving (about 2 teaspoons) and though pleasant, not as flavoursome as some. Overall a tasty plate of food that cost about $26. Service was also efficient without being too intrusive.

This little restaurant is absolutely LOVELY. The food is great and I am absolutely a big fan of all the dips and the pita bread they serve but also their dishes are all excellent. Love the pastries and the latte as well. Charming staff and the bonus is definitely this lovely terrasse with the fire/heaters outside during winter. Perfect for a romantic date or to catch up with friends!

I had dinner at Ballaboosta about a month ago and was seriously impressed. We had a grazing menu prepared by the chef and so I got to try many things. The flat bread was great and the serving portions were very generous and tasty. The venue is small so seating is tight but to me, that adds to the atmosphere when there’s plenty of noise and people clearly enjoying themselves with great food, wine and company. I look forward to returning soon.

Very small portions for breakfast. We ordered 3 dishes which were pretty good but we still weren’t full at all. Shakshuka sauce a little simplistic and eggs slightly overdone. Sastra veg wrap tasted great but again very little filling. Coffees took 25mins to arrive and came after the food. Exciting menu but disappointing result in the end. Price was decent though so could just charge a little more and increase breakfast portion sizes

Food is amazing, very top level, my parter and I battle the problems for it. But easily fixable service issues absolutely kill this from being a top place. Phone line is terrible for booking, orders take a long time to come out, the counter to pay is smack in the middle of a narrow walkway that the wait staff use. You'll ask yourself. That seems like such an easy fix, yet owners don't bother. Would recommend this place any day of the week, but during off peak time, when no one is there.

Firstly, the food was exceptional. Juicy chicken, great salad, beautiful sauce, overall excellent. Secondly, the exuberant yet homely atmosphere of the place is good for all of the customers. Thirdly, the staff are extremely nice and are very good at conversing with the customers. Several restaurants struggle to make their customers feel at home yet the staff at Ballaboosta are very welcoming and know how to keep everyone engaged. We were talking to one of the managers at the time and he was very charismatic and funny. This only improved our experience. Finally, everything about that place is beautiful. The wooden, cozy indoors add a relaxed and pleasant touch to the experience. Usually, I am a very heavy eater and I felt like the portions are so well-balanced and suited my appetite accordingly. My only criticism is that the place is rather small and seating arrangements can be changed to ensure more customers are able to go to the restaurant. It could also boost the amount of visitors as this is a very underrated restaurant.

Absolutely love the food here, amazing Lebanese traditional desserts, flat bread pizzas with amazing toppings, highly recommend the bruschetta and the breakfast flat bread as well as the lamb mince. Amazing dessert cupboard, banana caramel creme pie is my fave, also house made creme caramel. Only reason I'm not giving it a 5 is because service was incredibly slow, we ordered 2 coffees with our breakfast and they took nearly 45 minutes to come out - I get they were super busy but we were right next to the coffee machine! I prefer the traditional menu and steer clear of the pizza, because the traditional menu is something special and the pizza is well, pizza. In some places sitting near the kitchen and the loo can be a drawback, but a spot near the kitchen here gives you a free show. They are wood oven NInja's!

I can't believe I have not come across this place before. The smells alone would entice anybody to stay for a bite. We decided just to share the Kafta and a bottle of wine. I really could not fault the food it looked great, smelt fantastic and the taste was out of this world, also the portions were just right if you wanted to share a light lunch with someone. The staff worked hard and fast and still managed to smile and be helpful. All up fantastic definitely coming back.

Between feeling unwelcome on arrival, sometimes they bring you menu's sometimes they don't, waiting can be horrendous, no-one setting the expectation on waits, no consistent waiter so gaps form quickly in service, ultimately the front of house is dysfunctional and real let down on an otherwise great eatery. Its doing a disservice to the good produce coming from the kitchen and barista.

The mains were large chicken skewers and wood oven pizzas. More than we could eat. Staff very ftiendly. Other than a little slow to get our drinks order the experience was perfect. This place is amazing, you think your at resturant tucked away in a side street on the Amalfi Coast. We travel here two to three times aweek for either breakfast, lunch or dinner. The owner Naj will make you feel like a rock star. The food is exquisite and you can see them preparing it right in front of your eyes. The food is second to none, everything tastes like the meal that your grandmother made you when you were a child and you havent been able to find since. The balance of the food in this place is SUBLIME! It's really hard to choose a particular highlight because the range of food reminds me so much of home cooked Lebanese food.... Which is also kinda odd cause I'm not from the area... The absolute must for me is their Bread. Chef Naj uses the simplest of ingredients, flour, water and a dash of salt.... But creates masterpieces from it. Paired with the hummus, Garlic paste or Babaganoosh, you will understand why I rave about this... Definately the Babaganoosh.... Mains, their chicken and lamb skewer combination is ALWAYS a winner. Well balanced with a fantastic pile of Veggies... Service wise is excellent. Staff are warm friendly and attentive when you want them. It's a balance isn't it? Too inattentive and our pisses is off; to in your face and you'd want to swat the buzzing waiters away... Balaboosta is all about balance, great food and consistency.
