One of the best wood fired pizza in the area. Many Vegan and gluten free options and staff is very friendly. Only disappointment was the wait time. I placed my order at 6pm and waited for 1hr 30min for 3 pizzas. It hurts that they were serving dine-in customers first😏.. so don’t expect first come first serve!!!.

I’ve been putting off writing this review only because I don’t think I could find words to justify how incredible this place is I was only introduced to this place last year and I’ve been obsessed ever since! Literally the best pizza I’ve ever had by far I get the vegan pumpkin and my partner gets the Il pollo (chicken one) We drive 20minutes to get here every though we have many pizza shops much closer It’s so worth it for us The ingredients are always fresh, the bases are absolute perfection and you can really tell a lot of love and care goes into every single pizza I also love that you don’t feel like rubbish after eating their pizzas. They are just Devine 😍

A few days out from Christmas, hubby and I met up with friends at Sandgate for a quick meal. It was 6pm, and it was a busy night here at Il Forno. Staff were friendly and zipped around looking after the customers, handing out Covid forms as well as menus. Rosé, beer and ginger beer were our drinks. All four of us ended up with woodfired pizza, as the spinach and ricotta cannelloni was not available (sadly for hubby). Our mates are vegans so they chose from the vegan menu – the Mediterranean with mushies, eggplant, rocket, olives and tomato, and the pumpkin with balsamic onions, spinach and tomato. Hubby went for the spinach and ricotta (reminiscent of the cannelloni), well covered in tomatoes, spinach, ricotta and roasted garlic. I chose the salmon and capers, which had lots of tasty salmon, red onion, fetta and capers. We all loved the thin and crispy bases (which are made daily and hand rolled) and the ample toppings. They were all fresh and filling (hubby and I took home a doggy bag), and perfect for a hot, humid Brissie night. Understandably being so close to Christmas, they had run out of various items, including the tiramisu I was keen on, so we went home sans dessert. But we were full and happy nevertheless, and would eagerly trot out to Sandgate again for more pizza. (And to try the various salads.)

What an amazing pizza. Ordered the grand pollo (chicken), Hawaiian and ham and cheese. All 3 were delicious. The chicken one was amazing. It is a good size pizza too (6 pieces). Thin base and crispy border. Just perfect. You can buy wine, beer, cider and spirits there too. No juice (in case you take kids)

One of the best wood fired pizza’s in Brisbane. The olive tapenade pizza is a must try, the pizza base is crispy and fluffy and the cheese is just a melting goodness and the toppings are fresh. Had the antipasto platter for two.. it was a little of everything that made me happy, wood fired bread that was hot and crispy. Another must try 😊 Honestly if you don’t like this place you need to stick to dominos.

Wow don’t even know where to start . If it wasn’t the refreshing and awesome chef/ owner it is most definitely the food . 10/10 pizza all around I’m a die hard ex chef food lover and this is actually the best pizza you can get in Brisbane . I’m a Beccofino guy though and through for you pizza lovers , the starter and dough at this place is the best I’ve ever tasted it’s perfect . Great staff great food couldn’t recommend more and on top of that they went out of their way for my partners dietary requests with a smile ! Super awesome support this place !

Local pizza place with woodfired oven which is very nice, bases are nice but best eaten fresh out of the oven. Quality toppings and ingredients used, definitely recommend "the Oven" if you are looking for a high end pizza. Prices are also very reasonable.

Had an hour to kill around dinner tonight and stumbled upon Il Forno. Busy little place in suburbia, we were lucky to get a table. Staff were very busy but also very pleasant. We were expecting a good pizza given how popular they are even though the prices are kinda high ($22 plus for a basic pizza). Gamberi pizza ($25.50) was nice, tasty, lovely thin crisp base, but sparsely topped. The only thing stopping me going back is the price... Asked for bacon and garlic on the pizza, got charged an additional $3.50 for a little bit of bacon and $3 for garlic, when it turns out the pizza already has garlic on it. Add to that $10 for a glass of Moscato and it just added up to too high a price for a pizza and a glass of wine. Shame. But clearly there's no shortage of willing customers.

I’ve been going here for years now with family and II Forno always provided top notch quality wood-fired pizzas, always delicious. Personal fave is the lasagna and the spinach ricotta pizza. Sometimes, I love to get takeaway pizza and bring it to the beautiful waterfront.

Great pizza, good selection of beers and a great feel. Stop in and try this place out. You won't be disappointed!!

Recent visit very disappointing - arrived really early as we had a concert up the road, but took an hour to get food so by the time the kids ate, we nearly missed the start. The food here is top notch. Atmosphere is friendly and cosy. Really can't compliment the food enough. I prefer eating in the restaurant rather than take away because I believe the wooden platters absorb some of the moisture from the pizzas and give you that authentic crispy base. Love it.

Had a fantastic dinner at Il Forno with my partner. We had the antipasto platter for two and pizzas for mains. They were both cooked perfectly and the pizza bases were great. The wait staff were courteous and professional making sure our needs were met. I would highly recommend the duck pizza which was particularly delicious. Would definitely recommend if you were looking for a authentic pizza taste.

Amazing authentic wood fired pizzas for dinner and baked pretzels for breakfast! Super friendly service both times I've been :) Cant recommend this place enough. tip for the parents: dominos for the kids (around the corner) and treat yourselves to Il Forno Pizzeria, you won't regret it. There kids menu looked good, but we haven't tried it. I would be a regular if I didn't live interstate. :(

Good but not great. I'm sure to cop flak from the parochial locals for this review. Had heard about this place from local papers (recent competition winner) and talked to locals. I suspect it's become a bit of urban myth about its "greatness "...a restaurant the locals can be proud of. Service was good. Pizzas were delivered promptly. A little light on the toppings for my liking. However over $21 for a thin pizza seems a little pricey but I knew that when ordering. I guess now i can say i know what all the fuss is about. I don't agree but now i know. Look, if you're used to making your own pizzas from scratch then you might be disappointed but if you're used to buying fast-food pizzas (the hut or the dice) then you'll probably enjoy these albeit at a premium.

I would like to rate this place 5 stars... I have been there plenty of times and never had bad food, but even on a quiet night, you get rushed through the place by the wait staff (even if you ask them to kick back a bit). The food is 5 star, and the wine is very good - but if you want a relaxing place to sit back and chill - then this unfortunately is not it. Almost feels like they want you in and out of the place in the quickest time possible, even if there are plenty of free tables. Shame, as the food is really good.

I've been here a couple of times now and the service is great. Sometimes the pizzas aren't popping with flavour like you'd expect (usually just missing one extra thing like some basil or some extra flavour) but the beautiful fresh base and fresh ingredients more than make up for it. We tried a pretzel just last week and it was super awesome. I didn't take a photo because I was too busy devouring it lol! The only criticism I have is that my husband's salami pretzel just had way too much salami - it was overpowering and you couldn't taste the pretzel. The olive and tepanade one that I had was great though!

I can’t believe I’d never heard of this place till now, best pizza I’ve ever had!! I had girls night here a couple of nights ago and had the best time. Wine and dips followed by 4 types of pizza, red duck pizza, the big chicken pizza, morrocan beef and the zucca pizza. I still can’t decide which one was my favourite, I loved them all. And to top it off specialty made gelato. YUM. They have a very relaxed vibe and the Italian hostess/waitress was so helpful. Will definitely be coming back again soon.

Friendly staff, pizza sizes are good. Most likely the best in the area. They need more seating in my opinion but it is a tiny space so they do well with what they have. On four different ocassions at Il Forno, we have seen young people (teenagers) having what seems to be first dates there which is sweet. Sometimes service is slow but I think their margherita makes up for that.

I have been going to Il Forno for 3 years at least. It is hands down the best Italian pizza in Brisbane (probably, to be honest i haven't tried every pizzeria in Brisbane ...but i bet you $10 you won't find a better one) But seriously i have tried a lot of places and it easily is my favourite. I like the atmosphere and location but the pizzaaa!! The Margherita with olives is my favourite. My brothers favourite is the Duck (which is also Bangin!) and my other brother loves the Calzone with extra garlic. So yea, thanks to all the chefs and the lovely staff!
