There's nothing like soaking up those rays of sunshine (after marinating I'm sunscreen with a hat, fully covered lol) on a weekend lunch with friends. . Located just opposite Highette Station with Ripponlea feels @matteospizzaparlour features outdoor stationside dining on warmer days. Inside it's warm and the oven is glowing with the endless wood fire Neopolitian pizzas and even dessert pizza! . 🥓 Matteo’s ~ stracciatella cheese, cherry tomatoes, san daniele prosciutto, parmesan, rocket. The classic, if you love more cheese, less tomato sauce based pizzas with beautiful prosciutto, this is the one. . 🎃 Pumpkin (V) ~ mozzarella, sage, pinenuts, caramelised onion, almond feta. While we've had pumpkin on a pizza we've never had a pumpkin pizza before so that was exciting! And this one was just right, creamy pumpkin, sweet caramelized onions, salty tang of feta and pine nuts. 🌰 Nutella Pizza ~ orange zest, vanilla ice-cream, raspberries. My favourite pizza tonight had to be this one, sugar and carbs, true love. A crispy base with warm melted nutella spread, balanced with the cold ice cream. Delicious pizza with vegetarian and vegan options! Loved the vegan meat and cheese used on the wood fired pizza! The pasta was alright. Definitely go here for pizza! They have a great range of delicious cocktails!

After visiting this place around 5 times now, this definitely gets full stars for me. This is my favourite pizza restaurant to date, hands down. I've forgotten about my other go to's. Pizza is delicious consistently, the base is a beautiful soft dough. Staff are always very attentive and friendly. Love it! ❣️🍕👌🏼

I’m always happy to find a great local Italian place so was thrilled to find Matteo’s Pizza Parlour in Highett. The Date Night meal deal included 2 wood fired pizzas, pasta & salad along with a bottle of wine - a bargain for $65 We took our food to the park for a picnic & were impressed with the quality of the food. The prawn linguine was creamy & indulgent & didn’t last long. We loved the wood fired pizzas, thin crust & authentic Italian flavours. The mushroom pizza was a highlight, the porcini mushrooms added a depth of flavour & we loved the cheesy goodness & addition of potatoes. The fennel & orange salad was light & fresh & finished the meal perfectly along with the bottle of Shiraz. Matt & the team were very friendly & welcoming & we’ll look forward to going back to dine in.

Pizza, pasta and wine - the perfect combo. Look no further than to Matteo's Date Night Deal if that's what you fancy too. 2 large pizzas, 1 pasta, 1 salad and a bottle of vino. Get ready for thin crispy crust, topped with delicious and fresh ingredients, and flavours that hit the spot. The earthy and mellow flavour of the Mushroom Pizza contrast really well with the punchy and bold flavours of the Pepperoni Pizza. The Prawn Linguini was creamy and rich, and was a delight to eat. Paired with the refreshing and zesty salad, I could even trick myself into believing that I was eating clean. A most enjoyable meal and definitely a great local pizza joint for all.

Three of us came to Matteo’s Pizza Parlour in Highett on a Friday night. Firstly, I would like to say that we really appreciated that they were open – even on a Good Friday when most stores, cafes and restaurants are closed due to the public holiday. It was lovely weather and so we decided to sit outside to catch the sunset. I also want to acknowledge the exceptional customer service. Not only were the waiters and cooks at Matteo’s very friendly, but they all seemed so genuine and willing to help out wherever they could. Between the three of us, we ordered the Matteo’s pizza, prawn linguini and gnocchi for main meals, as well as the strawberry, hazelnut and salted caramel ice cream/gelato for dessert. The food was super delicious; I was very pleased with the size of the pizza and the generous amount of toppings including prosciutto (some places can be a bit stingy on the prosciutto, but I was very happy with this pizza). The only downfall for the gnocchi was that I only wished it was a bigger portion size; it was so tasty, and between the three of us it didn’t last long at all! Thank you to Matteo’s Pizza Parlour!

Lovely experience first time dining in. Couldn't fault a thing!! Attentive friendly service. Good atmosphere. Delicious food. We had fries with aioli and arancini for starters followed by prawn pizza. Loads of flavour and cooked perfectly. Great drink selection too. Cold beer came with cold glass and limoncello spritz was refreshing. Will be back and look forward to trying more from the menu. Highly recommend.

So happy to have found Matteos! Yummy wood fired pizza with simple flavours and fresh ingredients. We never have to wait too long for our order to be ready to go. We enjoyed the date night pack last week which included pizza, pasta, salad and wine for only $65 which we thought was incredibly reasonable. Give Matteos a try. You won't be disappointed

How do I leave 10 stars? Been to this place 3 times in the last month, one of which was tonight, Thursday 18th February, first night out of Lockdown 3.0 for my son's 5th birthday! They were so accommodating and welcoming... Especially putting up with my loud family who hadn't seen eachother in a while... Don't even get me started on the pizzas..... So delicious, the crust is amazing, toppings are amazing, prices are reasonable and did I say the crust is AMAZING? If you are getting off the train, do yourself a favour and order the best (and super quick) wood fired pizza... If you're feeling either peckish or starving, Matteos has you covered. Or if you have a few people you need to feed, do what we did tonight, order 9 different pizzas and enjoy all together! I hhhhhhighly recommend this place, and omg be sure to save room for their home made gelato ❤❤❤❤

So I have to write a review because Matteo's Pizza Parlour does some of the best pizzas and pastas in Melbourne...and I am currently heartbroken as they are out of my 5kms radius! Their orecchiette broccolli is deliciously moreish, and if you like a bit of spice on your pizza their Diavola hits the spot. Their food is so good that when I go I am torn between the choice of pizza or pasta, so I usually go with both (and take any leftovers home for the next day- yum!) To top it off, they have generous portions of fries and a delightful little wine list. It will be the first place I visit when lockdown lifts! The service is always cheerful and friendly without being imposing, and when open for dine in there is always plenty of room for each table - we visit with the pram and have no problems at all. Can't say enough good things!

Best pizza in Bayside! We just discovered Matteo’s a few weeks ago and have made it a weekly ritual. Friendly staff and my wife loves their vegan margarita, she said it’s the best vegan pizza she’s had!

A sophisticated and easy going new addition to the Highett area. A varied menu that caters for all dietary requirements and allergies. The pizzas are wood fired and fresh, providing an authentic flavour you can't find elsewhere! Service is fast and informative and staff are gorgeous. They also do phone orders and soon uber eats. Give them a try, you might just find your new local!

Seriously delicious pizza to rival any pizza in Naples! We came for a girls’ dinner, with a few new babies, the place is totally pram and family friendly but the food was the real star. We tried 6 or so pizzas and salads, as well as a selection of charcuterie and every dish was spot on. The bubble and stretch in the pizza crust was to die for. Great addition to the area.

Service was super fast! Home delivery was the fastest we have ever had. I feel the carbonara was full of onion and not a lot of other toppings. Meat maybe 2 pieces a slice ,it was very oily. I would eat in for a final opinion as take away makes a difference. My husband loved his and said it had a great taste.

Such a lovely place to take kids, we've been lots of times and just can't fault it. The staff are very friendly and attentive, the food comes out super-quick and it's delish! The pizzas are amazing and so is the pasta. The bruschetta and the calamari salad also yum. Go there!

I came across this gem on Instagram and their promos are the reason I decided to visit. I hadn’t even seen any photos of the food! We headed in for dinner on a public holiday and there was already a couple other people waiting at the door for opening! We were warmly greeted and seated. We had one of the owners attend to us and he was pleasant, attentive and openly welcomed kids. He immediately offered colouring to the kids, water for the table and plastic cups for the kids. We ordered the kid’s pineapple pizza with vegan cheese and two pizzas to share; Pepperoni and Matteo’s (with burrata cheese, cherry tomatoes, san Daniele proscuitto, parmesan and rocket). The great thing about wood fired pizza, is how quick it is to cook! Most the work is about perfecting the dough; ask any Italian pizza chef! Secondly, it’s about quality toppings and they did not disappoint. All three pizzas arrived promptly and for a wood fired pizza, they were generous with the toppings! I tried all three pizzas and they were delicious. The pizza wasn’t heavy at all, which allowed plenty of room for a dessert pizza! We ordered their Nutella pizza, which was refreshing and moorish. It had a small amount of orange zest and was topped with raspberries and ice cream. We had an enjoyable time dining in and would definitely return.

We have been here twice now with a baby and toddler and they have been nothing short of wonderful setting up a table with a, high chair, colouring pencils, plastic drinking cup etc for our 530pm child friendly dinner time. The pizzas are nothing short of amazing. Thin, perfectly cooked, full of flavor. There's a deal on Tuesdays for $20 pizza and beer/wine.... what a bargain. We will continue to come back frequently. My only small feedback is that the high chairs don't have the seatbelts in them and if the harness were put back it would prevent an unruly toddler climbing out all the time and mean mum and dad can stay for another beer/ wine. Best pizza were had in a long time. Carbonara pizza is to die for.

A great start by Matteos which has better service than MrHumble already. The place smelled amazing when I walked in. The menu is standard with a few variations and the pizzas I had were great. Look forward to trying some of the pastas and hope they can maintain their good customer service.
