I have visited this spot before and returned with some friends for a cheeky pizza on a warm night We had the Funghi, San Daniele and the Santoni Greco pizzas and a few drinks All in all nice pizzas but nothing outstanding, the price is quite expensive for the size of the pizzas and quality, needs a bit more flavour - good thin base It’s all about the rooftop if you are going here and the vibe so it gets a big tick for that reason. Service was super friendly

It should be $$$ on Google, not $$… quite pricey for very average pizzas. Our two pizzas had bases so thin that the sauce and toppings made it very soggy and difficult to eat. The quality of the toppings were nice though, but could definitely get pizzas for much lower price and better quality on Lygon St. I think most people enjoy the “vibe” and interior design of the place with rooftop bar. Customer service was good and fairly quick service.

In summer, on the piazza outside Santoni next to the Hawthorn Town Hall, you could believe you're in Roma, on piazza Navona or s. Ignazio at the outdoor restaurants. Piazza Santoni - no need to brave the airport and COVID tests, Roma in Melbourne, on the corner of Via Glenferrie and via Burwood.

Trendy, busy pizza restaurant in the heart of Glenferrie Road in Hawthorn. There are three levels including a rooftop bar. We had a large group in a private room on the second level. The menu consists of a large selection of quite creative pizzas along with a limited selection of pasta dishes. All dishes were cooked perfectly. Desserts were also delicious. Staff were friendly and service was efficient. Great place to dine with family and friends.

Have come here twice now, both times sitting rooftop and I highly recommend anyone else do the same. Such an awesome view and setup there and on a good day, it’s a real vibe. The oysters and pizzas are really good quality & delicious, and the service is great. It’s a little pricey though (most pizzas are in the late $20s), but you’re really paying for the atmosphere which is definitely worth it. This place is a must visit if you’re in the Hawthorn!

Pizza was great (albeit a bit expensive) and the rooftop is the perfect place to spend a summer evening. The Prosciutto was the standout - there’s a truffle base which is a little unusual, but it works so well. We also had some well fried crispy calamari as a starter, and some lychee spritzes which were small, but refreshing on a hot day. Great Italian restaurant situated on three levels. The rooftop bar is nice and provides a great view over the surrounding area. The food is reasonably priced and it has a great selection of drinks to choose from. Definitely recommend the rooftop, but book early to secure a table. Service was very efficient and friendly.

I would give this pizza a solid 6.9. Look you can tell it use quality ingredients but value for money wise (The pepperoni cost $26) I wouldnt say its great. Would have rated a lot higher of the base was a bit thicker ( I know some people like this style) as the dough was actually quite good. Worth giving it a try tho.

Went there late last night and made a booking beforehand. We got a really great table on the rooftop with a nice view. The wait staff was really patient and helpful. We got a couple of pizzas, pasta and some starters. Really good food. One of the best pizza crust, I've had in Melbourne. They've got a range of drinks options. The place would be good for groups too. Would highly recommend!

My husband and I had our first date here in 2015, from then on we go at least once a year. Their pizza is consistently delicious; the toppings, sauce and dough consistency, and taste is always 5 stars. The pasta... My favorite, the Blue crab spaghetti should not be taken off this menu because they have the best crab spag 💓 Their selection of wines to pair for their dishes is all so appropriate. I'm not a chef or an extraordinary cook... But I can say, that like more than of Melbourne, I am a foodie. Santoni Pizza & Bar has that beautiful chill, homey ambiance that makes you just want to come back for any occasion.

When we got the bill, they were $18 each- $76. World have been cheaper to buy a bottle of wine. Too expensive. Second, no bill splitting. Can understand for big groups but we were just 2 couples. Absolutely LOVE this place! You feel as if you’re on Lygon street. Except with easier parking and lots of dining space. The service is excellent with friendly waiters who are attentive. I’ve come here three times and it’s never failed.... And have social soft spot for their gorgeous roof top. The bottom two levels of diving is great for quiet dinners with the family, or a romantic dinner. The rooftop being a little more hip and exclusive. Can’t go wrong with either the pizza’s here or the Pasta!

Staff are friendly, but run off their feet running up and down the stairs. We ordered a few dishes, including two pizzas, but only 1 arrived - the other was more than 20 minutes late, no reason, just a few 'let me chase that up for you' or 'the kitchen is making it now' comments, but a large table that arrived after us were getting all their pizzas and other food before we got our second pizza. Also, 1st floor was not Covid safe - no ventilation and no distance between tables (our chairs knocked into the table behind us) and the large table had about 15-20 people (Not sure what the max should be, but i thought less than 10 was the rule?)

Food is good with great pizza options and small selection of pasta and other salads, steak etc. Drinks list will get the job done and service is friendly too. They also have great gluten free option for both pasta and pizza. Worth a visit

Came here for my friends 21st a few nights ago, we were originally sat on a high table but our lovely waitress Rachael who was so friendly was able to move us to a bigger table despite the rooftop being super busy after lockdown! Food was great - we got the greek boy, capricossa, some calamari and chips. She managed to convince us to get another 2 rounds of drinks and recommended lovely cocktails which made our night even better !! Lovely food, service and drinks all round.

Just wanted to leave the most fantastic review anyone could ever write, for Santoni’s manager Sarah, and her exceptional staff for catering my (covid safe) baby shower function yesterday! From the day I first spoke to Sarah she has worked hard with me to organise absolutely everything that I wanted for my guests, all whilst sticking to our covid restrictions. And from the minute I arrived to the venue she was all hands on deck preparing the tables with my party favours and cookies! The food at Santoni is absolutely delicious! All my guests were extremely satisfied (including me!) and we had the most wonderful time on the roof top area where Sarah’s staff ensured everyone had a drink in their hand at all times 😁 What really stood out to myself and my family was how Sarah and her brilliant team helped us get everything we needed up to the roof top, and later even helped pack our car with all my gifts. It was quite a warm day but Sarah ensured my family and I had water right at the end for our send off. It’s these little things that truly show how incredible the team at Santoni are! I truly can not wait to dine here again and I will most certainly be returning for future functions! 😄😄😄 Thank you everyone at Santoni! 🙏💜💙

We had a large group booking (14 people)and it was suggested we order the $45 per person 3 course set menu instead of ordering a main each. Mains range from $25-35. The starters were minimal, 2 plates of calamari and 2 plates of pumpkin salad. Not really enough for 14 people to share. Unfortunately the mains weren’t much better. We received 4 pizzas for the 14 of us. We thought they may be staggering the food, but then the desserts were brought out. When we complained to the manager we were told it wasn’t a set menu, it was a ‘tasting’ menu - which wasn’t made very clear. We did receive a discount on price per head, however, if we had known better, we would have ordered individually. All that aside, the food was delicious! Service was a little lacking, however it was a busy Friday night.

I have been to this popular local restaurant for a few times. It's pleasant to see very busy since reopened after Covid lockdown. The courtyard expanded is a plus in the summertime. However, last night we had a disappointing experience. The rocket & walnut salad we ordered came with unfresh leaves, too stale to eat. We kept the photo of all the yellow leaves for the record. The meal isn't cheap, at least get the fresh salad to feed the customer. The lamb pizza was delicious, as usual. Staffs are friendly and efficient.

Four of us arrived at midday on a rainy Friday. On arrival, we were offered sparkling water and said 'yeah sure'. Later, after paying for the meal we were shocked and appalled at the fact we were charged an extra $8.50 for a bottle of sparkling water (which we never even finished haha). Next time it would be nice if the waitress mention that it's not complementary water... but rather we have to pay for it. Anyway (let's move on to food), we ordered four pizzas; the Margherita, Prosciutto, Salumi Celio and the Greek Boy pizza (gluten free). The pizza was quite tasty and flavoursome (but definitely not worth $100 in total). In some ways the pizza was a bit dry and didn't seem as though it had been pulled straight from the oven. I probably had super high expectations for a place like this, selling pizzas at these prices. They were your typical gourmet pizzas, but honestly sometimes I'd rather a cheap pizza from Dominoes (maybe I'm just basic). Anyway, overall the pizzas were actually quite delicious and filled me up to the point of being in a food coma. Thanks also for the good customer service :)

The best pizza in Hawthorn. The rooftop is the place to be on a nice day, plenty of umbrellas so don’t worry about getting burnt. I reckon I’ve been through most of the pizza menu now and I’m yet to find a bad one. Parking can be a bit of a so-n-so, so generally park in the council car park behind the town hall rather than doing too many laps.

Disappointed as it always puts a downer on the experience. The staff in the kitchen however were very friendly on our departure, smiling and waving at our kids and thanked us for coming!

Bit disappointed. I have eaten here twice in the past and received excellent service and wonderful food. However upon trying to call and place another booking recently, I was spoken to very rudely by the gentleman who answered the phone and dismissed. I had trief to book online first however I needed to call and speak to someone as the website said to call if I had further queries about bookings. I called, only to be told very rudely: "we're in the middle of service - book online." I work in hospitality myself and fully understand how busy and stressful it can be when the phone rings during service HOWEVER: I would NEVER speak rudely to a customer, especially a potential large booking. Maybe politely asking to please hold or try calling back later would be a less off putting approach than being snapped at. I am so disappointed to be treated this way by a venue that I have enjoyed in the past. Will probably not be returning or reccomending to anyone. I woulf suggest that management put more emphasis on polite phone manner in thr future.

Ciao We ordered the Greek Boy which was a very nice pizza, but were disappointed when it only came with the Greek and not the Boy. Also left me a bit confused because I thought I was eating at an Italian restaurant. We were seated on the rooftop which was pretty cool, but it was a bit too cool as we got quite cold quite quickly and only found out later that there were heaters that could've been used. The "ciao bella" sign was confusing because I just entered the restaurant and was wondering whether they wanted me to leave already. What was even more confusing was that brunch was still an option when it was already past lunch. We left the establishment confused and bewildered. Ciao bella (or not bella)
