The awesome waiter / manager is great. He always seems to be on his own but copes amazingly. Always friendly and great service. I hope he gets some help soon.
The pizza is great too. Best Pizza in Sydney!!
W. C. C.
this was surprisingly very tasty! the pizzas were amazing! had the pimms sangria which was good! Garlic bread was to die for! overall great experience and the wait wasn't long at all (midweek dinner)
F. F.
Absolutely in love with this pizza place - the Vegan Supreme pizza is diabolically delicious. Yumm! 🤩🤩
S. H.
Had a lovely dine in dinner experience thanks to Diego. He went above and beyond to ensure I had a great experience. He even made a bespoke Limoncello drink for me which was incredible. I’d highly recommend doing half and half too - I went for the Hot D*mn!! & Otto Bianco. The pizza was cooked to perfection and they were generous with the toppings.
B. W.
This is a nice casual place for lunch or dinner with friends. You can enjoy dining indoors or outside.
Love the $13 half-pizza lunch specials which are a bargain and a major drawcard.
There are plenty of pizza choices to choose from, they are decent tasting and wait time isn't long.
L. M.
Some of the best pizza I've had in Sydney.
L. R.
Love this place so much! The pizzas are unbelievable, and the staff is super nice! Loved the Ciao Bella pizza, so yummy! Will definitely come back anytime soon :))
J. W.
We had a veg pizza and a pumpkin spinach salad, both were amazing, made with love as they say. The staff were very friendly and accommodating as well.
M. M. C.
We had such a great time. Diego’s attention was the best. Food was amazing. Highly recommend the garlic prawns and amalfi pizza
S. M.
Although I prefer thin, wood-fired pizza with minimal topping, Mad Pizza's chunky topping style is still delicious. It was also wonderful to get a table without a booking in the current COVID environment! Staff are also very nice.
M. M. C.
We had such a great time. Diego’s attention was the best. Food was amazing. Highly recommend the garlic prawns and amalfi pizza
S. C.
Great thin crust pizza w rocket salad to compliment it. Fantastic service, also I treated myself to a pink soda cocktail which was delicious.
J. P.
This place easily serves some of the best pizza I have ever had. If you have a read on their website, they talk about their dough making process. It’s no joke, the dough is phenomenal and you will feel satisfied but not uncomfortable afterwards.
Fresh ingredients. Beautiful flavours. My new favourite. A great find.
O. B.
Diego did an amazing job hosting us at the pizza place. Great food and amazing vibe thank you so much!
P. C.
The pizza here really can't be beat.
I ordered a half and half to test the waters and was really impressed. Thin, crispy bases with the perfect sauce ratio and the toppings are fresh and not over-the-top, with well thought out combinations.
Really outstanding. Thank you very much!
T. R.
Great value for money.
The house red wine is delicious.
The garlic bread is addictive especially with a squeeze of lemon.
We also had prawn pasta and mushroom pizza. Both were very good.
L. M.
Some of the best pizza I've had in Sydney.
A. S.
Went for lunch with friends. Ordered some pizza and was very pleased. The quality was exceptional and the price was reasonable. I would suggest this place to anyone.
F. S.
Amazing cocktails!!! and the staff is lovely. Will definitely go there again.
S. P. S.
Thank you! It was a great experience to have dinner here. Diego give us a great service!

OKAY, I'm heading home with 3 ravenous Girls after a Virtual Reality bloodbath. I never thought repeatedly murdering your Parents could work up such an appetite!
Pizza was the prize for the victors at Mad Pizza.
Always great, yummy choices. I've never had a dud dish there. Even the kid's ragu was full of old school flavour.
The lovely waitress was all alone and snowed. When she realised she hadn't organised our Aranchini, she quickly made amends with a free serve!
Give it a go!
J. K.
Why does this place always have something wrong? Today: an Italian restaurant with no pasta. 😂
C. L.
Best vibes, customer service and very tasty food!!! Will definitely return 😍❤️
L. O.
Had some of the best pizza and service I've had in a long time at this pizza place. From the minute we arrived the service staff were attentive, friendly and prompt. You could tell they were always keeping an eye out to preempt your needs which made the whole experience really easy, especially as we were under some time pressure. We got a couple of pizzas and they came out so fast and were super duper yummy. High quality ingredients, very friendly staff; BRB.
P. S.
Their pizza and greens were simply divine. Big thanks! to the staff for their service and care as we dined with our 10 month old at the Darlinghurst location
M. W.
Great pizza choices and your typical Italian mains. Really tasty food, We went for spaghetti bolognese and the porkies pizza. Generous portions. Finished with a complimentary lemon shot by the staff when settling the bill. We was there late evening on a Saturday, chilled place with a casual dedicated dj, the staff had a great attitude, welcoming and easy going. We just had a couple of beers but there was a lot on offer for cocktails too.
M. J.
What a great little find. Food and Service was fantastic. The Pizzas were amazing and we will defiantly be back
R. C.
Great food! Even the pizza crust was delicious, no lie. Some fantastic new combinations as well as old classics. The staff was very friendly and chatted quite a bit with us as it was our first time in Sydney. Absolutely recommend and will probably go back (something we try not to do on when on holiday, but it was so delicious it would be worth it). Lots of gluten free options (including crust). We ate every bite and were so satisfied.
J. G.
Yummy pizza & drinks! Truffle fries were to die for!!!
S. M. R. a. S.
Absolute best pizza , yummy and tasty 😋
D. L.
Friendly staff and really delicious pizza! Usually late night food is rushed garbage but we had to get a late meal and it's clear they cared about the ingredients and baking it properly. Lots of options for diets of all kinds. Really cool atmosphere.
N. M.
Great pizza with a great vibe.
Came here for the first time late on Friday night and loved it!
The cocktail jug we ordered (can't remember which one) was pretty average, but this was more than made up for by the delicious pizza (a Hawaiian, a Smoke Salmon and a Funghi) and good vibe of the place, with great tunes, mood lighting and cool staff to boot!
M. C.
Excellent thin crust pizza. They kept our Pizza dairy-free by using their vegan cheese and it was delicious. The hi-tempo music was a bit too much to allow a relaxed dinner but we were only there 40 minutes so we dealt with it.
B. A.
Lunch deal is a bargain, pizza is really good. They tend to be understaffed for dinner service, so expect a little struggle to get floor staff's attention. Still worth it IMO. Oh, definitely try the garlic bread!
A. C.
Loved this place as soon as we walked in, as it has a beautiful ambience. Food was absolutely delicious too! 👌😉 Recommend the Spaghetti Bolognese, Arancini and the Garlic Bread with honey/maple syrup... sensational! 💗 Thank you for the complimentary Limoncello!!! Went down like a treat! 😉😘
C. V.
My favorite pizza in Newtown! The taste is great and they also have many vegetarian/vegan options. If you want to hang out with your friends in your birthday, it's a great place. If you go with 9 more friends, you can pay $25 and have as many pizzas and salad you can! Great deal!
D. M.
Fun not Elegant
This is a vibrant and fun place to eat, menu is a typical Italian pizza restaurant and pizza are great. Wine list is adequate, but what makes this place great is the vibrant and efficient service. Always enjoyable and fun to dine here.
M. S.
I'd like to go 4 stars here, and honestly I probably could and wouldn't feel too bad about it, but I just don't think I can give 4 star to a thin crust pizza joint...I know it's a personal choice, and I know that purist will say that thin crust is the only way to go, but I like a thick, gooey slab of dough with a crunchy crust covered in cheese and assorted toppings of choice. So, while everything about Mad Pizza was done really well, I'm only throwing it 3 stars.
The decor is cool, if a little contrived, but it goes with the Italian/NY style pizzeria look they're after. The guys working the bar were friendly and quick despite being slammed. And our pizzas were out way sooner than I thought they'd be. And kudos for great chill house music, I love the vibe that sets in a place.
Honestly I don't remember what pie I had, but there were there at the table, and they were all good, crispy and fresh, with a nice balance of cheese and veggies and meat. I also ordered one of the garlic bread starters, which was a bit steep at $10, but was f-ing delicious!
All in all, a nice place for pizza in Surry Hills if you like thin crust, but for me, I'll keep on the prowl for a deep dish Chicago style pie of my own...
M. B.
Tasty pizzas in a fun and relaxing environment; plus red label Peroni which is great because you feel like your in Italy. The service can be patchy though. Last time I visited, we left after fifteen minutes because no one took our order.
E. H.
surprised me.
thought we'd get pizza which is hey, pizza but ones we ordered all came on very thin crispy bases - and they all tasted really great. Funghi, sausage and a magherita. We came in late and they took our order as last orders and the guy here was nice. happily come back. tasty pizzas.
A. B.
Had my birthday here last week and everything ran fantastic! Claire was managing my group of 30 and did a flawless job checking up on everyone and making sure everyone had enough to eat :) We got a lovely function room so everyone was spread out and able to mingle and everyone commented on how delicious the pizzas were :) Thanks again Mad Pizza will definately be back :)
M. T.
Two of us shared the pepperoni pizza and the siciliano (prawn) pasta. The food was delicious and very reasonably priced - not what I was expecting from a pizza chain. I would recommend this casual restaurant and will definitely return in the not too distant future.
A. K.
They do decent pizzas, though perhaps a bit expensive for what they are - more than $20 for a medium, more if you want to half/half the toppings (the saviour of many a relationship). Nice atmosphere - good house wine, and local beers (including Young Henry's) behind the bar.
If you're craving pizza, I'd go here for something solid.
T. T.
Had the lunch special which is a 1/2 pizza of any pizza flavour on the menu, a little rocket parmesan side salad and a post mix soft drink. It's not the biggest pizza but for $12.50 you can't go wrong
M. F.
Loud rave type music in a semi-sophicated bar which specialises in pizza felt a little confusing though definitely Mad. Pizza was not great and slightly burnt. Lots more choice around to try next time.
A. S.
I'm not normally a huge pizza fan but i absolutely LOVED this place. They serve the most reasonably priced pizzas $17-$19) and the bases are so thin it's as if you're having a slice of pizza from a corner shop in Italy. What is even better is that they also offer a gluten free option ($12) and it actually tastes equally as amazing. I shared the Funghi, Tuscano (slow-cooked lamb) and the Havianna (Hawain). My favourite was the Tuscano as the lamb was perfectly cooked and the combo of peas, mint, spinach and feta was heavenly. It's great for small and big groups. I will definitely be returning here for my next pizza craving.
S.
really nice thin crust pizzas, well balanced menu, casual relaxing ambiance, nice range of drinks. Our margherita pizza was really nice. fair pricing for the pizzas, about $20 each.
J. S.
Went here for the first time yesterday and liked it. The atmosphere is really nice although it was a bit chilly due to the open doors and the drop in temperature. The idea to provide colouring pens to write/ draw on the paper table cloths is original. I can recommend the chorizo and olives entree, not so much the garlic bread though. It was literally the same caramelised garlic bread that you can buy at some Woolies, only warmed up and garnished with some basil leaves. The rocket salad with pears and walnuts was lovely and the pizzas were very delicious. The dough was perfectly thin but they used slightly too much tomato sauce. The variety of the pizzas is great and the staff is also very friendly.
H. N.
Had a birthday dinner for my 17 yr old daughter on Sat night, Brad and the rest of the staff couldn't have been nicer! Great place for a function. Highly recommended!
J. M.
An excellent wine list and some of the best pizza I've ever tasted, a great night all round in the relaxing atmosphere and smart decore. Fantastic staff topped off the experience.
V. B.
An unexpected early finish at work on a beautiful summer's day, so i thought I'd wonder up the road and look for a nice little place for a drink and something to eat and enjoy the last hour of sunshine. I stopped here, attracted by the small, cosy, unpretentious atmosphere spilling onto the street. It serves pizza and pasta which is what I was looking for. I was doing something different, so I went for the shredded lamb shank with red onion, feta, garden peas, mint and basil pizza, just because I wouldn't normally, and thought... 'why not?'. As I watched the other tables being served I started to regret my choice, but then came what I think must have been the best tasting pizza I have ever had. Their home made limoncello aperitif, and 3 peroni's later, and a simple dessert was in order. Affogato. Again, the best I've ever had. That was hours ago, and I still have the most pleasant tastes lingering in my mouth. What a find! And I only live around the corner!
H. S.
Cosy vibe with good music. Authentic Italian style thin pizzas with plenty of quality toppings. Friendly prices and staff! We'll be back.
N. A.
Went there on a Saturday. Had a beautiful pasta dish with pesto. Only $12.50. Such great value. Attentive service to.
F. L.
Cozy and romantic place with dim lit setting. Not only are their pizza's light and flavoursome, their pastas are also soooooooo delicious. Their funghi pizza is probably my favourite.
R. R.
Amazing food and great service. Had the best espresso martini
B. A.
Love this place, I’ve tried so many of their pizzas and always amazing. Great wine menu too.
D. J.
Nice atmosphere and yummy food.
K. W.
Went there for a birthday party. atmoshphere was great and service was friendly. Pizzas came out after ~20 min, but was well worth the wait! Unique tastes and great vibes at Mad Pizza e Bar
J. C. T. L.
Really liked their 🍕.They have a $12 dollar special that includes half a pizza and a salad, but the portion is not very big, expect to pay $20 plus for a full pizza if you're hungry!
j.
Excellent pizza! Went twice, service during dinner is alot better than service during 3pm. The pizzas were very unique and delicious

The Garlic bread is to die for!
Back in the 1980s, I recall, you had to have a meal to drink at a bar in Brisbane. It didn’t matter how much you drank (of course). But I vividly remember going to bars in Fortitude Valley (during my university years) where you were always handed a ticket for food as you entered clubs like The Beat and The Terminus. It was a quirk of the liquor licensing system. Often there was a simple curry, mostly though it was garlic bread. I suspect a fair few of the older people in those bars threw the tickets away, but as a university student, I can assure you, it was welcome sustenance.
Many years later, living in Sydney, I encountered something similar at the legendary late night bar, Barrons. Barrons, located in Kings Cross was a bar where you would go for a drink when everything else was closed. Famously, a friend who fell down the stairs in an alcoholic stupour, was once asked by one of the bouncers… “So are you coming in or leaving…?”
Like Brisbane in the 80s, Barrons had a “must eat” policy. Vividly I remember going through the farce of having to order a meal before you were allowed to go upstairs to have a drink. “What would you like to eat?”, they’d ask, for which the only answer was “Garlic Bread, thanks”. You then had to wait for the garlic bread to arrive before you could go upstairs. Being a little older (and probably having already eaten), the sustenance angle was no longer relevant, and so I remember waiting, making a token effort to eat the garlic bread, and then heading upstairs.
Let’s face it. Garlic bread is mostly pretty crap.
But when I went out with friends and ate what was possibly the world’s greatest garlic bread at the Mad Pizza Bar on Crown Street. Admittedly we had enjoyed a few drinks earlier, and we were all quite hungry, but the garlic bread was incredibly tasty, and such a long way from everything else I’d eaten previously. The garlic was sweet (probably roasted) and so was the bread. The pizzas were okay. The garlic bread was amazing.
O. M. J.
Pizza tastes okay. Staff are reasonably welcoming, and efficient enough. Place seems clean.Prices are a bit on the expensive side, for me.
L. T.
Some absolutely amazing vegan options, cocktails, and focaccia!
A. T.
Awesome thin crust pizza with a healthy heaping of toppings, and quite a large range of pizza selections. Just far enough from Oxford Street to relax, yet close enough to all the bars for a drink afterwards
B. P.
I came here for the first time a month ago and I've been back three times since. Fantastic each and every time. Could do with a better beer selection, though.
T. L.
You *have* to try the garlic bread. Caramelised garlic cloves folded into a ciabatta, baked and torn up. 🤤
Lunchtime specials are good value
D. D.
Great spot, great atmosphere, and great food. The pizza crusts are super thin and toppings run the gamut of flavours.
C. F.
Great for the price. Thin crust, incredibly tasty and great ambiance (given it was really late, half empty, good music playing combined with great weather).
C. B.
Hands down the best Vegan pizza in Sydney, and the caramelized garlic is to die for
