The Bruschetta pizza is to die for! Amazing as a entree but would be just as good as a main! The base is always incredible- fluffy but crisp/crunchy outside. Any prosciutto pizza is fantastic! Their specials board (comes & goes) rocket, prosciutto & fig pizza tastes so light and refreshing. My dads go to pizza if On their specials board is their chilli, cherry tomato and prawn pizza as pictured below. This restaurant is my favourite pizza place In Sydney! The service they provide is great! Definitely a must go for good pizza! The restaurant can get a little loud but the food is well worth it!

Excellent, authentic Italian pizzeria. What I really love about this place is not only their brilliant, authentic pizze and very cheerful demeanour, even when busy, but when we order takeaway (90% of our orders) their estimated pick-up times are very accurate. If I were to levy one MINOR criticism, it'd be the slicing can be a bit ramshackle😉 A great, new(ish!) addition to Darling Street - and for those wanting weird toppings on their pizzas, or who're too lazy to walk/drive up - there are other options! I mean really - if you use Uber Eats and expect a fresh from the oven experience, words fail!

Excellent pizza (thin base, puffy crusts) and vibrant atmosphere in a quiet neighbourhood with ample parking around the corner along the industrial area by the waterside. Friendly and efficient staff. This pizzeria prides itself in being authentically Italian, so you won't find any pineapple here. Their antipasto board for two is delicious and enough for four if you don't want to fill up too much before your mains. One of the best places in Sydney for pizza.

Cosy but very noisey Italian restaurant. We found the pizza's okay, not amazing but their afogato was great. I wasn't impressed with my nutella panna cotta, it was over the top sweet and i could hardly finish half of it.

Delicious thin and crispy pizza on the bottom. One of the best in Sydney. Ordered vegan pizza, but my mate ordered normal ones. We both agree they are so delicious!! Lightly charred which I think puts extra depth to it, delicious!

Exceptional. Three years between visits and did not dissapoint. Staff were lovely and accommodating and seemed to bring their helpful cheer to every table. The Prosciutto Pizza was amazing, well balanced rich tomato base, with your choice of 4 different cuts. The Gorgonzola Pizza hit your nose as it was approaching from the kitchen, perfectly cook leaving burst of strong flavour all over the pizza. Unfortunately with the gorgonzola, ham and mozzarella the moisture ran a bit into the centre leaving it soggy, the mozzarella didn't really add much to the pizza. Desert, "Trio of Deserts" not in fact a tasty of 3 delicious sweets but full serves of Panna Cotta and Tiramisu and two scoops of gelato, all of which was lovely.

Always delicious and well hospitality service in this restaurant. I go there regularly with my family. I like there pizza, salads and antipasto. Yummy!!! Sometimes you need to make a booking first. It always busy even in winter. If you like spicy you can ask them chilly oil to have with pizza. I just had the white pizza first time here. It was lovely, potato and sausages. I highly recommend. This place is one of the favourite Italian restaurants in Sydney.

This place has the best pizza I have ever eaten outside of Italy. The creamiest chocolatley tiramisu and the lovely rich Chianti are delicious. This service is very Italian, fast, efficient, sweet and friendly. It is said to be narrow, the table is too small, it is very noisy, I will not sit anymore There, because it is too loud, I don't want to be on the legs of my next door restaurant. So maybe it’s the best takeaway in Sydney.

Vegan pizza was very average. Salad as well. Staff friendly. Parking difficult and a walk unless your lucky to get one out the front. Toilet was a long walk out the back of the building. Didn't have wet wipes to take food off your hands.

Excellent authentic pizza By fair the greatest pizza in nsw if not Australia. I have been to many authentic pizza places having come from an Italian background and I can say that without a doubt Rosso Pomodoro is absolutely spectacular. They have a wide range of pizzas from traditional to contemporary pizzas. They ferment the dough for 72 hours and it really does make a difference, the flavour in the base of the pizza is unlike anything else, it’s more mature and mouthwatering. The pizza was not soggy, it had a lovely balance of toppings among all pizzas. The staff were very friendly and happy to talk in Italian to my grandmother about Italy and their range of cured meats. The ambience was that of a small Italian restaurant which was suitable to some tastes. Overall an excellent experience and I would highly recommend it to anyone looming for quality food.

One of the best pizzas in Sydney! Very Italian style. It's a small place so it becomes busy easily. Good staff. The only problem is if you need the toilet because you have to go outside and walk around the building, which is annoying. But the good authentic food makes up for this lack.

Only three stars because they lack the wood oven. The ingredients, toppings, especially the tomato was really really good and shame and sad they don't have a wood oven. The pizza cornicione looks sad though they boast that it was rested for 72 hours. Bit doubtful about that. The calzone is a must try from this place, the taste of salami and cheese was esquisite. The wines were good too, tried the Montepulciano, Montalcino and Chianti. All of them were really good. The place can be a bit pricey so would recommend to BYO wine to keep the bill under control. Two pizza, one calzone and 5 glass of wine costed around 119$.

"VPN" is a designation given to qualifying pizzerias by the Naples-based Associazione Verace Pizza Napoletana or its delegates — enter Rosso, regarded as Sydney's stalwart, real pizza establishment, it's hard to go wrong when you're working with the classics; a thin crust, blistered correctly by the oven bubbles with zero flop factor and well balanced toppings. The finesse trickles down to the desserts, a trio platter and a nutella calzone that will rock you to bed and give you sickly sweet nightmares. Bueno baby 🌹

Nice, place, but really loud and crowded. Pizza dough was tasty, really thin, just the way I like it. We didn't like cheese much, but olives were delicious! We were a bit unhappy with our wine, we were drinking much better ones in Milan, Venice or Bergamo several times. Staff is friendly and ready to help. Pizza cost here $20-25. Glass of wine, around $8, $9. BYO possible, payed extra. Toilet is somewhere outside, which we found a bit uncomfortable. All in all, we hope to visit this place with some friends soon.

Awesome pizza ... the other reviews speak the truth. For anyone considering it as a date place I’d just be aware that it can be very hard to hear each other. Pros: One of the best pizzerias in sydney. Quality of the pizza is amazing. Great friendly service, amazing smell of dough and pizza ingredients as soon as you enter the door. If your feeling like pizza this is the place to go. Also price of pizza is great for the quality of food you recieve. Good pizza size - not small but not overly large. Cons: slightly tight seating areas, would be hard to sit with lots of active kids. Slightly overpriced beer but taste great nonetheless. Suggestions: Go on a weeknight as it can get pretty busy on weekends! Five stars simply for the outstanding quality of pizza, hard to match!

Rarely do pizzas wow me. I loved the pizzas here. The dough was light and there's that authentic crisp on the outside that you know can only be from a traditional stone oven. Generous toppings unlike some 'traditional' Italian pizzerias. The ingredients are so fresh it was unbelievable. I loved how the mushrooms were all cooked right on the pizza, not too raw, not too soft. And the baby spinach, goodness, the crunch is still there. Best pizzas in Sydney.

What to say... You want excellence, look no further. High quality food, super friendly and helpful staff. Place is an institution for the area. Been there for years now. Still delivers consistent high quality food. The dough is a little bit different that what you usually find in a good Italian pizza place in Sydney. It's not the Napoletana type, this on is called Romana in Italy and it's very common throughout the north of the nation. If you like thin and crispy this is for you. Try it anyway, you won't regret it. ;)

Seriously the best gluten free pizza in Sydney. The first time I tried it I was convinced you guys had gotten it wrong as the base was so perfect and so crispy I thought gluten had to be involved - but it wasn't! Absolutely amazing! The service, atmosphere and most importantly food is amazing. I have been coming here every year for the past 5 years for Valentine’s Day, birthdays and anniversaries and they never cease to amaze me. My go to meal is the antipasto platter for a starter, the penne pasta, Rocco pizza and rocket salad for a main and don’t forget to finish off your meal with a scoop of hazelnut gelato! It can get very noisy but it’s all apart of the experience. Make sure to book ahead because it gets very busy.

However, if you are that kind of client who likes to customize his pizza, don't go there; they don't compromise. The only downside is that the place is a bit noisy when packed out.

Was a petty quiet night but still a good atmosphere. Service was fast and friendly. Pizza bases were excellent. Some of the best I've had in Sydney. The toppings were good. The margherita was a little runny but excellent flavour. Antipasto platter was good. Will have to try the pasta on my next visit. With BYO, entree and 2 pizzas the bill was less than $70. Great value!

Definitely don't try and go here with someone hard of hearing, but if you want a genuinely great pizza and italian desert, go to Rosso Pomodoro :)

Great ambience, reasonable pricing (ended up around 25 a head for 3 courses), BYO convenience, and real Italian people serving the pizza. Food arrived promptly and was fresh and delicious. If you want authentic woodfired italian style pizza this is THE place to get it. A great range of pizze rosse and bianche. A couple of favourites are the Rocco and the Capricciosa with the Diavola for those that like a little heat (chilli wise). A few specials at the moment are the pizza al tartufo, although a bit pricier than normal well worth it and the 3P (potato, porcini and pecorino). Great flavours work well together. Make sure you leave room for dessert. Whether its the tiramisu, mini bombolini or gelato to try. The best in my opinion is the signature nutella calzone. Yuuuummmmmmy. Only for those that looooove Nutella. Coffee is good and a selection of aperitivi, wines and amari too. It is BYO but there is a charge. Service is friendly and quick. Booking ahead is a must but you can always get pizza or pasta to go as well.

Good authentic Italian pizza, but the sloppy kind. I'm a fan of both sloppy and crispy pizza. If my belly was an independent sovereign nation, well, that would be weird -- but I was going to say that pizza would be king. Though that doesn't really make sense either, does it? I mean shouldn't the king be the stomach acid? Or the lining? What, is Pizza some kind of visiting king? He's only there on a few occasions, and even then he's being melted away by acid. This whole analogy is nonsense, and I wish I could take it back, but my delete key is broken. Anyway, point is; I like pizza. This place serves the sloppy kind of pizza, but honestly, even if you prefer crispy, you'll probably still like it. Everything tastes fresh, the base is great, and the sauce is pretty good. The place itself is well decorated and fitted. I've been there twice, but I still struggle to remember what it looked like. It's one of those places. You don't really notice the background, but only because it's done so well. Good for both a date, or with friends.

Delicious vegan pizzas. Get takeaway as it gets crazy noisy. It took them only 10 minutes on a Fri night! The vegan cheeses are unnecessary, full of unhealthy fats. Wish they'd offer vegan pizzas without the vegan cheese, they only need some extra moist ingredients like extra fresh tomato slices or mushrooms to keep it moist while cooking. Would be great if they'd bring in a vegan funghi (lotsa extra mushrooms & potato plus rosemary?!)) and a vega-roni (peppery chilli) pizza with extra flavours

NO corkage is one of Le Regole (The Rules)! This is the Rule that most appeases me. However it was Rule No. 2 that left Baroness aghast and rebellious. Rule No.2 at Balmain's Rosso Pomodoro was no pineapple on the pizze. As she is a Queenslander she finds this particularly offensive and considers such a statement as an affront to 5 million of her fellow Queenslanders (pineapple is the Sunshine State's 'national fruit' with the ham and pineapple pizza as the State's 'national dish'). I quietly say Bravo Rosso Pomodoro! You know you are going to get a serious and authentic true-to-form Napoli pizza if pineapple is prohibito. But Le Regole don't stop with our prickly golden oval friend - other direttiva prominently on display are 'no half and half'; 'only Italian mozzarella used' (note: is there any other??); 'only Italian toppings '(note: therefore no Mexicana pizzas or meat lovers); 'Italian certified pizza maker used'; and 'pizza is cooked straight on the stone'. Could it get any better than this for pizza dilettante? You betcha. Rosso Pomodoro is renowned as one of the best places to get pizza in Sydney and also for Sydney's most expensive pizza - the tartufo di Tasmania - and it only is made around June/July when Tasmanian truffles are in season. One of the best pizzerias south of Naples. Just don't break any of the rules.

One word - bellisimo! This is one of the best pizza places I've been to in Sydney. It's extremely authentic Italian pizza—variations of cheese, tomato, basil and meat. You'll get disapproving looks if you try to order a barbeque chicken or ham and pineapple, don't even attempt it. The waiters are all Italian, providing fantastic service and have great wine knowledge. Public transport is limited (bus is your only option), so I'd advise driving and parking in the nearby streets.

They focus on simple, good quality ingredients to make great, authentic Italian food. They don't charge corkage, which is a bonus and makes it one of my favourite BYO restaurants in town.
