The best pub in Adelaide by far! The craft beer selection is very extensive but they offer great cocktails too! The service is excellent, staff are very knowledgeable and super accommodating. This pub is an Adelaide institution that has an elevated experience with excellent food and an amazing drinks selection. Love it!

I have been 2 times there, the first time we were on the 2nd floor, they took orders on the table, they asked for food details and everything was fantastic. The second time they told us the second floor is closed, they took orders over the counter and no one came to the table to ask about food quality or any other needs. We were there for a birthday party and around noon I called them for a birthday cake and they told me it will be 50$, I confirmed that I want it, but at night when I asked them to bring the cake, there was no cake on their fridge! Indeed, I should give them 2 or 3 stars for my second experience.

Great local pub, tucked away in the cities south west corner - a very popular hidden gem. Great selection of local tap beers that continue to change and evolve to tempt the palate to taste more, complimented by fridges stocked with craft and main stream beers. Amazing cocktails and wine selections with a kitchen that meets the needs of a relaxed evening meal, weekend snack or the discerning diner. Never dull and always a great place to unwind whilst enjoying local personalities or casual live music. A go too, for relaxed weekends or a casual mid week out.

This is the go to place for all your chicken wings craving. They have a great variety of wings and the suicide is an ultimate bomb! A great place to dare your friends for a Chillie challenge. They also have a good vego menu. Excellent customer service and love the vibe!

Visited based on reviews and really enjoyed it. Interesting and mixed crowd, fantastic and friendly staff and yummy food. I only tried some snacks (tapas) but the menu sounds great and all.the food that came out looked pretty tasty. I had the crumbed bocconconi (crunchy on the outside and gooey delicious in the middle ++ on the Mississippi comeback sauce) and the Huevos Rotos...a real reminder why egg and potato are such a great combo...it was so yummy and texturally comfort food...5 stars

What a fab night! Picked this little pub to celebrate my birthday with my work friends on Friday 24th September. We had a brilliant night. To top it off the bar staff were awesome. Absolutely love this place, it's a regular for us for their wings night. Amazing prices, quality chicken and sauces. it can take a bit to come out but this event does attract a lot of full tables. They do well to manage time. Little bit loud with the live acoustic singer, definitely not somewhere for a quiet chat but an awesome vibe for drinks and a cheap feed with your mates!

Nice atmosphere. But the menu is a bit limited. Many in our family are vegetarians or pescatarians! We were there for a July 4th celebration, but had to leave because the music was far too loud. Loud music is good of people are dancing at late-night venue, but we came to this place to meet other people and chat. That wasn't possible with the over-loud sound!

In Adelaide for work and went to the Gilbert St Hotel for dinner and a few drinks. This pub/hotel would have to be one of the best I've been to. Inside looks awesome, is welcoming and comfortable. There are a few seperate areas to sit inside which is great! It means you don't end up in one, over-crowded, big area. The beer selection was sensational!!! We were served by Laurens and he was the best! He was polite, well spoken and provided exceptional service. I recommend this pub, will definitely be back one day and will bring friends.

I love, love the Gilbert Street Hotel. I came here many weeks ago as it was one of the only places open, and I was pleasantly surprised at how amazing the place was! Amazing interior and an incredible selection of beers; lots available on tap too. The service is excellent, they are always so patient and there to assist with whatever you’re after. I always come there for sours as their selection is the best I’ve ever seen in Adelaide so far! A true gem of Adelaide and a must go for a chill night or nice evening for drinks with friends.

Wings night is excellent, all the wings are incredibly flavoured. There seems to be issues with the amount that you have to pre-order and this isn't always guaranteed. It would make sense to have more wings available given the popularity and demand. Staff are always friendly and especially knowledgeable of the beers available which is incredible given the selection available. The misters out the front are a great addition too!

Some of the best craft beers on tap in Adelaide that regularly rotate and the best wings I’ve had (Weds & Thursdays) and I’ve been to a lot of wing places including the US. The pub itself has a welcoming feel, often with great live music. The staff are always friendly and engaging, and if you’re over whelmed by the beer selection they will point you in the right direction. In the winter they have the fire place in the front bar and in the summer you can sit in the beer garden out the back or out on the front tables and watch the world go by.

Thursday night is the ever popular Buffalo Wings Night. Booking your order ahead is essential, as this fills up fast. Some really unique flavours, as well as some old favourites. The On Tap beers are far from your run of the mill dishwater. There is flavour, body, vintage and warmth in the many styles to partake from. Yes, there is the same old same old too, but leave those and try a brew that you have yet to hear of, and end up becoming old friends with. Many a night there is live music, with a bent of jazz, or that old time rock and hipster but I like style rock and roll. Not your thing? Dine upstairs in the comfortable wall to wall wooden style dinning rooms, dripping of warm snuggles and relaxation. The other best thing. The genuine staff. They are busy, but they are happy to serve you. They are truly nice people. A place better than home!

Thursday night wings are the best in town! I highly recommend you make a booking and take your friends. I have been dining at gilbert for over a year now most Thursdays. I recommend trying the buffalo wings, spicy bbq wings and if you can take some heat, the suicide wings!! They are around $15 a basket and a very fulfilling experience. Great vibes most nights with live music, drink specials and delicious food.

I am a lover of ciders, and this place has about 9-10 different ciders available. Walked into this pub on a whim, I'm glad I did. Friendly bartenders too, when I was buying my friend a gin and tonic, I complained that I didn't understand how anyone could enjoy gin. One bartender looked me in the eye and said "let me make you a drink, I promise you'll enjoy gin." Lo and behold, that drink he made was one of the tastiest drinks I've ever had. The BBQ Beef Burger was a definite 7/10. The patty was enormous and tasty, the bacon was flavorsome. Unfortunately the large amount of beef was not complimented very well with the rest of the burger, the overpowering amount of beef made it hard to taste the other aspects of the burger. The Chipotle sauce was really great, but there was not enough of it. Be aware the food can take a while to arrive.

Went to the Gilbert Street Hotel (GSH) with other family members. Excellent menu choices and a great range of beers and wines. Can recommend GSH to out of town and interstate visitors.

Amongst the best pubs in Adelaide. Still has seats at the bar which seems to be becoming less common. They have pokies but they are stashed away in a corner so less obtrusive than many pubs. The big thing is the beer selection. The Gilbert has one of the best selections in the city. A great range that many other bars don't seem to be able to get their hands on. If you're a beer nerd this is a must visit in Adelaide.

Went to a private function there in an upstairs room. Cold night but with open fire in the room and awesome heaters out on the balcony, it was very cosy. The finger food provided was great and the staff were terrific.

One word describes the beer on offer here: lethal. The range of draught options is impressive to begin with, but when you start exploring the bottles stashed in the fridge you really go down the rabbit warren. The food here is above average and absolutely warrants a try. The beer garden out the back is also really quaint, well in the shade during summer and not overcrowded most of the time. All in all, one of the better CBD pubs in Adelaide's "green mile".

I visit the hotel once every couple of months for lunch and will always find myself ordering a schnitzel and a pint of something different on tap (seriously good range of beers available on tap and by the bottle/can!) the schnitzel itself is nicely sized and flavoursome, the chips ok, but the accompanying slaw is hit or miss and seems to vary in size.

Great atmosphere , good chicken wings but thats about it ! We had 3 mains , Beef Cheeks , Ragout , Schnitzel Parma . Beef Cheeks tasted great but the sauce was reduced too far , became salty and overpowering and inedible , the Parma was so boring and tasteless probably the second worst I've ever had , Two meals had pickled salad sides = Woah it was really ordinary and didn't belong on the table , both sent back not eaten , NOTE -nothing beats a decent Garden salad . Ragout was the winner here . We dined in the beer garden/outdoor area , confused table service staff we didn't know if ordering at the bar or anywhere . We ate with no credit card taken or money until we said something on the way out .
