I had this establishment in my sights for one reason, the cigars. I got there and they unveiled a small cabinet of offerings. The selection was ok and my selection went down just fine, however the actual offering was 10 fold. It took me buying one to smoke with some of their fine whiskey before returning for round two to be shown the larger cabinet, could be a sales tactic, could also be part of the experience. I went on to indulge in a further cigar that was from the second offering that made me purchase 3 great cigars for home. If you are heading here for cigars & like me find not too much in the way of information on what to expect then I have two tips, ask them to show you both cabinets right away, and make sure to take some of these offerings home like a good little pirate. I will be back.

Funky bar, electric energy and eclectic venue packing a punch with expertly blended cocktails. Super patient bar staff as we ended up here at the end of a bar crawl on a Sunday evening. Cool space and we’ll be back!

This nautical-themed bar is somewhat of a hidden gem on Gilbert place. They always have a nice selection of season-appropriate beers on tap and a really cool range of cocktails. Definitely on the pricier side but everything is high quality. Comfy couches and indoor seating as well as an outdoor area.

We visited this bar 3 times and we love it. Large offer of a biers and spirits, cozy place. I give only 3 stars from that reason the last evening the bartender charged me higher price for a same drinks as day before. I recomend to ask for a price in advance.

Favourite drinks spot by far. The variety of liquor, cocktails and vibes is more than you'll ever need but being on this ship is about excess and enjoying every second of it. I've been going here for the last two years that I've been in Adelaide and it is always buzzing. For a back street location, the right people tend to gravitate to Hains & Co. for what is always a fun, relaxed and delicious evening of smooth drinks, smooth tunes and now delicious eats. The whole place is a feast for all senses and it has really become a spot to catch up with friends and make new ones. This ship makes everyone feel a part of the crew. If gin is what you're after this is the right (nautical inspired) place, though it was a bit of a let down to be left to peruse the menu for 5 minutes and be told that both gins picked to try where out of stock - maybe let customers know prior to them spending time looking at menu in detail? Engage the bar staff in a discussion about your favourite beverage and you will probably be surprised at how knowledgeable and enthusiastic they are. And they'll probably suggest a variation you've never tried. My favourite place for a quick drink that can become a delightfully longer stay.

Ideal place if you love your cigars & spirits. I've been here a few times and it's always packed with a good atmosphere. If you plan to come with a large group I would recommend trying to hold a table. Also the bar staff will climb a ladder/rope to collect unopened bottles from the top of the bar. This is quite amusing when waiting for a drink.

This place is a bit of a hidden gem right in the middle of the Adelaide CBD. Uber cool atmosphere and music, a nautical theme runs throughout the entire establishment. The bar staff are obviously well chosen and trained. They can make the best gin and tonics , good selection of high- end scotches and local gins not to mention the specially brewed beers on tap. The food is good if you wish to spend, it is superior to any pub grub and quite tasty. I go for the spirits but I stay for the atmosphere. Highly recommended on Friday and Saturday nights

Josh and his team are incredible hosts, mixologists and people. We enjoyed their hospitality three nights in a row and each time they made the time to educate us on the different types of rum on shelf between serving other guests. Their cocktails are brilliant, cigar selection great and skills are perfect. I have never been so humbled, thankful and treated in a bar in my life. If you're looking for a wonderful atmosphere, relaxed vibe, an incredible selection of rum and a great place to enjoy it all, please go and visit them.

Such a cozy, friendly, welcoming and warm venue that radiates with a fun and exciting energy. It would have been a five stars review if only the staff members would have been nicer. It was a quiet weekday and there were only 2 people before me at the bar, both of the staff members looked at me since I was right in front of them waiting for my turn, in the meantime, someone else came after me and the staff started to serve those people first, ignoring me at all, until a gentleman made them notice that I was first. I don't know why they reserved this behaviour towards me, I felt uncomfortable and embarrassed. The atmosphere is very nice tho and the cocktail was good, but I won't rush to go back and I am sure they don't care.

How can you not love Hains & Co? 🤩🤩 Easily the most consistent, best cocktails in Adelaide. 🍸 Great service, friendly bartenders who really care about making sure your drink is delicious and satisfying. Top rate selection of spirits, too so there's no doubt you'll find something which slakes your particular thirst We ordered a couple of rum daiquaris and they were exactly on point for what we were after. 🍹🍹 We didn't eat there but the food looked great. Went to Hains and Co for few after work drinks. I had few of their local and Australian Gin and Tonic, and everything they served was perfect. I just kept going back for more Gin and Tonic. The atmosphere is great and if you are out with few friends for couple of drinks and love your drinks and cocktails done perfectly, then then I would suggest you check this place out.

Despite my initial concerns about service quality, I was subsequently assured by the owner, Marcus that my experience was an isolated incident and I agreed to take him up on his invite to revisit Hains and Co. On this occasion, there was a full compliment of staff and I found the service quality to be outstanding. We enjoyed a Gin tasting experience which was facilitated by Phil, the head barman, a true gent, with a highly impressive knowledge of the world of Gin. We returned to the bar again later that night and enjoyed some fine craft beers and cocktails. Though much busier later in the evening, there were no service delays at the bar and there was a really nice ambience all round. Thank you to Marcus for the invite back, and thank you to Phil and the team for your outstanding hospitality.
