Had dinner tonight with friends. Had heard it was under new management. I was very impressed with the service, we were made to feel very welcome and the food was very tasty and well presented. I won’t hesitate to recommend to family and friends. I think that the manager is doing a lot to improve the atmosphere within the hotel with promoting quizz nights and Mothers Day luncheons etc. I look forward to returning again.

I thought the experience was quite enjoyable and the staff were quite friendly. The waitress apologised for the garlic cream sauce not being on point as they had a change of ingredients, offering to take it back if I did not like it. Being upfront about the situation is always good when dining. The garlic bread was to die for and my steak was perfect. I quite like the spacing in the bistro as it does not make you feel like you’re dining on top of each other.

Best plant based burger I've ever had! Young lady working in the restaurant at lunchtime, Sunday 13th June, had exceptional customer service skills. Nothing was too much trouble. I'd definitely dine here again

Poor Bar Service!! Stood at bar in Dining Area for over 5 minutes & then gave up & went into gaming area to get served where to staff members were just chatting & were aware we were waiting in Dining area to be served. Embarrassing as our friends who we invited had to do the same earlier!!! Will have to find a new local !!!

After writing a fairly positive review in the past as we have had good times in the dining room and with the staff. I feel I had to retract and write another after an unpleasant experience in the Sports Bar.Lady in there who was training another staff member there should be a tad more compassionate and basically said you only have one chance and I took it as what to get thrown out .We asked for 5 mins to complete out meal and put 2 bets on well before the 830pm closing time as she wanted to count the till.She just stood there with a blank face so I said go count your till we won't put on any bets and that's when she mumbled the only one chance line.I told her to stick your meal up your bottom and left.Ive since sent 3 emails to head office with no reply, very poor form I'd say also not replying.Voucher supplied for our troubles and food and staff were as good as they had been in the past last Sunday night.

Last minute decision to have sons birthday dinner for 25 somewhere local so called on the day - nothing was too much trouble! Service was great - antipasto 1m platter was amazing - meals were great sizes and very well priced!!! We found our new local!!! 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟11/10

The Payneham tavern is quickly becoming my favourite drinking hole lol The staff are very friendly, all their prices are reasonable, they have 2 pool tables which is fantastic, as well as 3 or 4 dart boards. The food I've eaten has been very tasty and priced well. Good atmosphere and decent happy hours lol

Staff lovely, very helpful & friendly. Food wise disappointed. Had a Southern fried chicken burger, tasted fine, however was in a tiny roll, not much bigger than their dinner rolls! the chicken tenders were processed meat, not even genuine chicken breast as you would expect. All meals were small, at $15 was an absolute rip-off. If you have a good appetite, then you would be leaving there hungry.

I haven't been here since the late 80's early 90's so my current wife and I went there last night (20/12/20) for our grandsons 3rd birthday. We had a really good time. Meals were great as was the service and friendliness of the staff. Liked the mini kids playground too. Will we be back? Yabetchya. A big three of these 👍👍👍

Great half price deal until mid August ‘20 should be the trigger for any readers who’ve not been here yet. It’s always been a friendly, warm bistro that’s delivered great food. Nothing’s changed, but if you get in quick you’ll feed twice as many on the same budget. Oh! And they have ZERO alcohol BEER available!

Came in on Monday for an after work knock off. Great beer range and prices. Very welcoming atmosphere. The hotel managers popped by and had a nice chat. It’s good to come to a pub where they spend time with their customers. Chilled vibes great staff highly recommend.

Attended for a Christmas lunch for work ladies, food was excellent, the service staff on the day were Ariel, Jade and Lyndon and they were all very helpful and friendly and couldn't fault the service. The children's area was very clean and the Toddler in our party enjoyed playing in the kitchen with all the pretend fruit and vegetables. Will definitely attend here again.

The food is great and not too expensive. The staff are really nice and friendly. They have good chef's specials to choose from. One of the best things is that it isn't too noisy which is good when you catch up with friends because you can talk to each other without having to raise your voice.

Local pub, small range of beer on tap. Friendly staff and reasonable furnishings. Haven't had meal as my beers not on tap (coopers pale ale- really! ). Definitely requires security at weekend nights.

Just wanted to say that the bar man here is a guy called Andy and he never stops working. He makes sure the table are always clean and is very fast and polite . If I had a pub I would steal him in a flash. But I dont so I enjoy his professionalism and hospitality he is a real asset.

(Translated) After SA a week of lockdown in July, I had my craving for Aussie Burger and chips. I looked on Google Map and chose a nearby restaurant near home which is Payneham Tavern, Went there in the weekend. The restaurant is very spacious with many tables but when we arrived only 3-4 tables were occupied. The plating of the food is very attractive, looks amazing. Look at the golden juicy squid on the 🥗 Caesar salad, the golden sesame bun with Angus beef that is tender and juicy and full of flavor and not forgetting the golden fries. After food, you can also stay to have a game of pool or play with pokies if you are over 18. After the city was closed, I wanted to eat at a western restaurant. I chose a nearby Australian restaurant, Payneham Tavern, on the weekend. The restaurant is very spacious with 3-4 seats inside. His photo shoot is very attractive, the golden juicy squid on the 🥗, the shiny bread and golden fries of Angus beef, are just right!
