Can not fault the Playford Tavern for the outstanding service! Our family group of 25 were accommodated for dinner service last minute when fully booked and the staff couldn't do enough to ensure we were all happy! The meals were amazing, great value for money, large size and the kitchen were quick to rectify an issue with our meals which was beyond appreciated ❤😍❤😍 Upon check-in to our accommodation we were personally shown around to our rooms. Massive thanks to Duane, Stacie, Liz and team for their outstanding service 👏🏻 Will definitely come again!

Really good customer service, best onion rings we have ever had! Kids meals were good. Roast was inedible (dry meat, veg were not roasted, they were water, couldn’t even pick them up, they just fell apart, potato bake was watery, no roast veg? no pumpkin, dry potatoes - however reading other reviews they say it’s good, so maybe we just went on an off night) and the only salad option was Caesar, which had too much dressing. Customer service was really, REALLY good though. So the stars are for that (and the onion rings). We’ll give it another go, but it would be good to have another salad option, even a simple garden salad, because when someone wants a light meal, there aren’t any options.

Great customer service all across my stay. They were very helpful and easily extended the stay on last minute. On Monday 07/02/2022 My Wife & her Sister had Rump Steak and I had a Mixed Grill, and it was the best Mixed Grill I've had for a long time, all the meals were very good, Steaks were tender & juicy, chips were great, pepper sauce was rich & tasty, staff were friendly & polite, will be coming here again

Extremely friendly Manager and her staff. They all couldn't do enough for us during our 3 night stay. The food there is "Masterchef Standard" absolutely delicious. The rooms are spotless and very comfy beds with great showers. We will definitely be staying there again. Highly recommended.

Would love to know when the food services are on the website or when looking it up. Unfortunately you have to call up or go in to find out. The past two visits have been really good. Food well cooked and delicious. Some of the staff aren't super friendly. Others are very nice.

Standard pub menu with good prices. We all liked our food except for the pasta of the day which had a thin watery sauce. I asked for a Chardonnay and at $10 a glass it was disappointing. The food came out fairly quickly. All meals were a good portion size.

Pop in for dinner with my daughter. Daughter was a little iffy at first with drunk people carrying on in carpark. It was busy so some grace goes to them. However it started after 15mins of ordering they came out and asked if I wanted lasagne or penne. I ordered the penne. Then my daughter's meal was served ( I get that kids get served first, however when it is just me and her it doesn't make sense I would want to eat seperate). I had to ask for cutlery twice and for the bread rolls 3 times. My daughter liked her meal and mine was nice.

The food was good as usual. Unfortunately we didn't receive one of our entrees at all. My money was pleasantly refunded for the missing entree. Using the new at table ordering and pay system did not allow me to enter my Monty Rewards details and therefore not receive my 5% discount on my $93 order. I opted not to give a tip at the time of paying, I believe that option should be available at the end of the meal to reward for the service received, in this case didn't receive (entree). Will still eat here at my local.

We have never had a bad experience when we eat at the Playford Tavern. Always warmly welcomed. The food is great, always just the right amount, always perfectly cooked. We still miss the buffet section. There is a kids playroom which allows them to get their wriggles out and not annoy other guests. The premises are always nice and clean.

My partner and I celebrated our birthday party at the Playford Tavern lastnight. We had never been there before. But I surely recommend this place for all social functions. The staff are amazing and friendly, the atmosphere is so welcoming and a great place for the kids to enjoy the play room. The staff were amazing, friendly and we had a good laugh with them. We expected your standard pub quality food (especially in the area it's situated :P) when I booked in here, but were pleasantly surprised on the day! Mum and I ordered the BBQ ribs - they fell apart as you cut into them and were cooked/flavoured perfectly with well presented salad and wedges on the side. Nan had the fish and chips (she's super picky with her fish and chips when eating out and loved the flavour) and the Sis had the boring ol' "chicken Schnity with Gravy"...best gravy ever apparently :D Thanks again for the awesome experience, both food and staff wise. We'll definitely be back!

Have never left a review before but the service, care and professionalism shown by the young silver haired girl was amazing. We were there for a celebration of life after a funeral and from the moment we came in until we left she was attentive and nothing was too much trouble. It is rare to see a young person with such high standards these days. Please thank her ( couldn't see name badge properly but we think it was Kirsten? ) Ps lunch was delicious too

Great place to come and have a meal with the family. Children’s meals are always free and there’s a massive play area so that’s a bonus. The prices are on par for being in the north and there’s a free salad bar so that’s a great selling point. Ample car parking. Each time we could seems the waitresses are always run off their feet so it seems they are not having enough staff rostered so that could be improved on.

Haven't gone in the bar part but the restaurant is amazing, great food, friendly staff and a playground for the kids. With their kids eat free at dinner and buy 1 get 1 free lunches it's always a great deal. And keep an eye out for the events/deals they always have great Halloween, Christmas and Easter events/deals userly with best dress competitions and face painting for the kids.

Had lunch at The Tavern today. My steak was cooked to my request and I was very happy with the meal I received . The dining room was very clean and staff were very attentive . I was so impressed I asked to see the manager so I could pass on my appreciation to the service today . I have been to the Tavern about 6 months ago and was not happy at all with our meals but thought we would try again . I’m thinking that there is a new chef as there is such an improvement and for some reason the staff seem very relaxed and very friendly. To the lovely Manager today I say “ thankyou “ it was very enjoyable and we will be back to your establishment 😄

We often come here as it's close to my MIL. Food is generally good (basic pub fare) and lovely service. Today we waited ages for our food (nearly an hour) which was quite unusual as we ordered well before the big groups. Normally food is served in 20-30 minutes. Playground is good with room for kids to run round and climb. Lunchtime they do 2 for 1 meals which is good, I wouldn't want to pay full price for some of the meals.

Seems to be multiple reviews similar below but We went here for lunch today after avoiding due to bad reviews over the last 2 years, but after seeing 2 for 1 lunch and $5 jugs we thought hey worst case we spent $30 and hate it. Gotta say was pretty impressed. Good selection for lunch on salad and hot bar. $5 jug was 1.3L coke replica bottle Food was perfect (first time in ages I had crispy seafood cooked to perfection. We plan to come again Friday for lunch, a good pub should have good bangers and mash so will see how far you have come. Who ever is doing it, keep up the great improvements.

When the first meal came out it was horrible. Ordered the Rump steak and it was dry and overcooked. Got served a well done instead of a medium rare. After a calm complaint we got both our meals replaces and a free drink. The replacement was delightful, juicy and a beautifully done steak. If that was done the first right it would be higher in stars. Staff was friendly and quick to sort out the replacement 👍🏻

Affordable, no noise from hotel down stairs, lots of car parking (some within scope of 24hr cctv, friendly staff, restaurant downstairs Cons- Rubbish still in bin from previous customer stay, at least one power point not working, loud noise from other guests late at night e.g doors closing, voices, etc

Have been staying here for the week and it's been great. No noise coming from the tavern at all. Lovely rooms and good breakfast boxes. We have not been out as a family for a long time, and we recently we to the Playford Tavern for a friend's birthday. The service was amazing, the food tasty and the kids had a blast.....but the best bit, under $60 for a family of 5 to have dinner and drinks. Not happy about having to wait over an hour for our lunch today. It seemed that everyone was waiting a very long time to get their food. When finally one dish came out and then took another 10 minutes for the other 2 meals to arrive. We also ordered a lunch for our son who worked in the drive through and when we asked about doing it, as he couldn't leave being the only one working at that time, we were assured it was fine as they were going to take it out to him and were happy to do it. Then when his meal was ready it was a not so happy manager to grab the plate and shove it at our son. I was not happy about her attitude. The other girls there were great though, very happy and interacted with us brilliantly. .. Not sure if I want to eat here again because of this.. Food ok but not fantastic. I will give 3 stars for the girls that worked hard .. Not the manager though!

Playford tavern is a great place to take the family out for tea the indoor playground gives you the chance to eat your tea with out the kid's getting bored the food is really good and the onion rings are a must have the only thing that put the rating down I'd that they have no salad bar but that is not their fault that's a flow on from the coronavirus

Went here with the family for a Bday catch up. FOOD: Ordered the flathead on the specials board as a last minute decision over the steak. The oil that it was cooked in ruined any flavour that the fish may have had. Others on the table ordered the steak and the burgers which looked to be the the goods. The buffet had a good variety of salad, veg, pasta etc and the quality was better than most places. The food was reasonably priced. We received good service from staff on the floor. DRINKS: Ordered a lime, soda and vodka for the wife. Took this back as it was lemon, Lime juice, soda and vodka. Staff replaced this with a lemon, soda and vodka as there was there was no fresh lime. The staff charged for both of these drinks at the time of charging the bill and when I suggested that we should only be charged for one of the drinks the answer was that another staff member poured the drinks. Possibly partly the pubs fault and possibly partly mine for only suggesting lime rather than fresh lime. Either way I wasn't happy with the outcome. Ordered beer for myself. No issues. PROS: Kid friendly bistro - High chairs / Playground Good service from the staff on the floor Decent buffet CONS: Bar service The deep fried food wasn't up to scratch VERDICT: If I lived down the road i would pop in every now and then for a beer, a reasonably priced meal and the buffet. If I was driving past and felt like a steak I would give this another go. If I wanted fish I would head home, crack a tinny and cook up a couple of birds eye fish fingers. FEEDBACK: For the sake of a dollar or two of vodka waive the cost of the first drink. The cost would have been covered considering the price of the drink. You'll likely receive more positive feedback and word of mouth business for taking ownership of these kind of misunderstandings. Ensure meals on the specials board are up the quality of the meals on the menu. Review could have been a solid 4/5.

The location is easy to find with plenty of parking on site. No elevator so you have to up on stairs to second floor where all the rooms located.The assigned manager assisted us and he gave us a complimentary drink voucher, he was very helpful too. The room was clean with comfortable bed, towels changed everyday, free WiFi and free water bottle. In addition, the breakfast box was included to the deal. The club next to the pub served delicious lunch food with salad bar, a very reasonable price for buy one and get one free. The hotel has self service laundry facility. I wish there's a sachet laundry soap available too for added convenience. Plenty of big shopping centers around in an easy drive. No heavy traffic on the road. Not far from Barossa Valley wineries, Gawler. Actually plenty to see around if you wish . A 30 minutes drive to Adelaide city and 45 minutes to Adelaide airport.

2011 - Have been here twice for a meal and it was a big let down. First time was abysmal but they upgraded and have a kids playground so we thought we'd go back. They also do kids eat free Monday but beware, not if you buy the specials. The kids meals were great so I was looking forward to my meal. I ordered steak, mash and vegetables with diane sauce on the side. I was served steak, chips and salad with no gravy. After questioning him he went to get me vegetables and gravy. He came back 10 minutes later, my steak was cold, the gravy I was served was cold, the mash was out of a packet and while warm on the outside, stone cold on the inside. I asked for my money back, we didn't stay for the kids icecream and left. Our meals also took at least 1 hour to arrive. There were only 2 adults and 2 kids. 2014 - went back recently, they have a new salad and veg bar which is ok, makes things a bit faster but they're still using pre made schnitzel and bland gravy. Jan 2017 - free kids meals for kid club members drew us back. Staff were very good and helpful ...steak cooked beautifully and free choc pudding offered when chips looked and tasted like they'd been reheated in oil, was yummy. The veg salad bar looked very sad, my son wouldn't even touch anything it all looked old and dried up. The pasta and potato bakes were swimming in oil not cream. Still lots of room for improvement.

Despite the months of roadworks outside their premises which is not their fault, The Playford offers a variety of options. It has a roomy drive thru bottle shop and pokies entertainment with lots of machines. The room has a free coffee and tea machine. No cookies, cake or biscuits. The meals area is huge. The menu is well priced and the meal sizes are generous. Bonus hot veggie bar and cold salads. ATM machine on premises.
