Comments of Prohibition Liquor Co
N. A.
We had a great experience doing the cocktail making workshop at Next Door which is part of Prohibition. Danny was passionate and knowledgeable and made our time there fantastic! Good value, great venue and quality gin. Would encourage people to book in or even just go for a few drinks. I know we will definitely be back!
S. M.
Sat in on a gin cocktail making session thanks to an SA Great State Voucher. What a fantastic tourism offering! The staff running the session we're very engaging and the quality of the class was excellent. Such a great place to visit and enjoy.
J. J.
We participated in an intimate Cocktail Making Class, hosted by the team from Next Door Cocktail Bar & Prohibition Liquor Co. We were greeted with complimentary Gin & Tonic on arrival.
Such a bespoke venue to enjoy the finest of Gins.
Our host Danny guided us through the process of making two special gin cocktails then enjoyed our own made gin cocktails with an antipasto platter.
Our class included take home cocktail recipe cards to recreate at home. We also had a tour of the Gin making room where Danny proved he was very knowledgeable about their Gin products, then finishing off with a taste of the to be released Blood Orang Gin. We will definitely be back for more.

Nice gin hangout, have a good variety and mixes. Have takeaways in cans and bottles of gin to buy. Reasonable prices. Easy to get to, plenty of street parking
M. N.
Enjoyable experience with the gin flights. Overall the gins had a strong alcohol taste on the back palate and weren’t as smooth as expected, especially given the price of a bottle of gin. Also the Shiraz gin was not available for tasting as they were waiting for the batch to mature. They stop serving food at 9 which is not mentioned on the website but the olives from McLaren Vale were good. The service was good.

Moonlight a new floral gin was launched on Saturday 12 June! Gin tasting was good. The new gin had that reddish colour and changes to a magenta after you add a bit of tonic. The floral taste is heavenly and really hits your tastebuds with an explosion of flavours! The place is neat and smells of good gin all round. The barrels all over the shop and restuarant are a very good feature. Having a distillery on site with tours for guests is an amazing thing. The distillery tour was quite informative and very well done. The presentation of the gin when served to patrons is well done in a rustic set. The serving staff were very friendly and quite knowledgeable. Their knowledge made the gin tasting experience an amazing journey of the tastebuds. I tasted a trio of gins that I had never tried..Moonlight 42% Navy 58% and Bathtub Cut 69%!
Thank you Prohibition Gin for quite an experience. Well done on all the awards you have won soo far! Hope one day you can make a gin from African ingredients like the Marula fruit and some other African leaves, flowers and herbs. Hope you can improve you variety availability in Alice Springs! Will be waiting ardently!!

Amazing set up, staff extremely knowledgeable and friendly. Had a quick bite to eat at the cafe before a sampling tray. Gins explained in great detail and well presented. Thoroughly enjoyed myself and would certainly recommend

I’m moving into the area and spent a Sunday exploring the local bars and venues. Prohibition is a cool spot and we were fortunate to have live music on a Sunday afternoon. I understand that the staff may deliver the same spiel about the tasting boards, day in and day out, but a little extra enthusiasm would have been more engaging. Nevertheless, the drinks override all else and we had a great afternoon

Ok, let's start with, I'm not a gin drinker.
We wanted to try Gin, every body says its amazing and you should give it a go. So we thought we would, they squeezed us in into the cocktail bar.
The atmosphere was modern and Funky, the ambience was people having fun enjoying Gin at one of the reputably best Gin joints in town.
My approach to the barman was simple.... "we've never done Gin...." his response was perfect. He set us up with a tasting, even though we weren't in the tasting room.
We were presented with 6 types if Gin, on two small platters (I gave it a good go). There were fruity notes, spicy notes and a few what the moments because I'm not a gin drinker. The bar tender didn't just dump the platters and walk away. He was very knowledgeable on each if the Gins. He talked us through each one, told us how to prepare it etc.
So, am I a Gin drinker now?
No... no im not, but this isn't an indictment on the Prohibition Liquor Co. Its just a "apparently I don't drink Gin" thing.
If you're looking for a really good Gin bar then this is your "spot". If you've "never done Gin" this is a good spot to see....
If Your a Gin drinker.

Best. Event. Ever.
Prohibition hosted our wedding, and made it a spectacular day for us and our guests. From the moment we enquired, Prohibition’s event manager Shannon was an absolute joy to work with. Communication was always easy and we were able to organise most of the event from interstate! Shannon was understanding and accommodating to the way we envisioned the day to run, and was transparent and clear in pricing, timelines and any limitations at play.
The wedding ceremony was held in the rear distillery and the reception was held across the whole venue including the rear distillery, front bar and front alfresco space. On the day, the Venue Manager worked closely with our florist, videographer, acoustic duo and celebrant in our absence and the space looked sensational. We opted for cocktail service through the “food for fingers” menu, and created a custom drinks list featuring Prohibition’s gin showcased in a variety of cocktails, as well as the standard beer, wine and cider. The gin was an absolute hit!
Our guests haven’t stopped raving about the service, abundance and quality of food and the atmosphere created by Prohibition's bubbly and friendly staff. The location was perfect – central, close to public transport and easy for interstate guests to find accommodation nearby, with great photo locations nearby (graffiti walls, South Terrace parklands, Victoria Square, etc).
LGBTIQ+ friendly, incredible gin, incredible atmosphere. We can’t thank Shannon, Danny and the crew enough. Definitely consider Prohibition for your wedding or event!
K. &. P. R.
Love Gin, you will love this place. So many to choose from and great food. Friendly and informative staff. Fantastic experience!
K. O.
Recently had my partner's 30th birthday celebrations here and everyone loved it! The staff were super friendly and very accomodating. Considering our group size of 25 people, everything went smoothly and all drinks and food that came out were not only super delicious but quick as well. Thank you so much to Shannon who helped me coordinate the day and was so patient and ameniable to our questions and requests. What a lovely space to have a drink. We will definitely be back to ensure we can try all the gin listings as they are all lovely :)
Unfortunately we were so busy enjoying our time there, we didn't take any photos haha
Thanks again to the team!
S. R.
I've drunk a lot of good gins but I don't often have ones that are as special as the Prohibition ones. The flavours work so well I prefer the gins without tonic. The tasting paddles are worth it so you don't miss out trying all they have to offer.
D. B.
Great place for a chillout and catchup while enjoying some nice gin. If its your first time, really recommend one of the gin flights.
C. K.
Great fringe venue
Allegria choir sang beautifully.
Venue is industrial as they make their own gin.
Snacks great.
D. C.
Cheers to the Adelaide lads that started this Distillery from humble beginnings in 2015. Well done lads. Well done. Highly recommend the new fashioned cocktail.
H. F.
Had Harley as our bartender. The missus and I ordered a different Gin Tasting flight each - we strongly recommend. We love gin and Prohibition Liquor Co definitely delivered on their end! Harley gave us an in-depth explanation of each of the gins and it was a real treat. It was the missus bday and she loved it 10/10.
The food was a bit small so would recommend as an appetiser / nibbles but the drinks are so on point we loved it!
Only reason for 4/5 is food size but everything else was spectacular.
H. W.
They know their gin! Neat little bar and friendly staff. About 5-10min walk from the square. Would love to try more next time we visit Adelaide.
C. W.
Amazing team, very professional and heaps of fun! They've hosted two corporate offsite gin tastings for our clients and everyone just had the best time tasting their delicious gins :) Highly recommend!
A. (. R.
Started our work function here. Great drinks! Friendly staff. Couldn't ask for more!
C. M.
We had a private work function and the staff were amazing, great service and will definitely be back.
M. E.
Tasty gins in a nice relaxed setting. Very friendly staff who go out of their way to help and offer advice. Thanks!
Q. C.
Good gin! Lovely place to share time with friends, highly recommended.
I. M.
A terrific range of delicious gins, great atmosphere and food. Good for groups, but equally enjoyable with a friend. Superfriendly team. Do a cocktail class if you have the chance.
R. M.
Great new venue if you love gin. Nice industrial style and awesome to have a distillery in the city.
A. K.
Delicious gin, good food and fantastic service.
J. T.
Nice place. Gins were pretty good. Tasting options quite interesting. Service a bit hit/miss. Most staff were trying to give good service but the communication was haphazard. I’d try again if only to see if it was an improvement.
D. M.
Fantastic ambience and service 👍👍👍
C. B.
We had my best friend's hen's celebration here and it was just fantastic. Special thanks to Gretel who had been answering my many emails back and forth in the months leading up (planning an event during Covid, not the easiest thing to do). She made me feel so welcome and that nothing was too much trouble. Another special thanks to Danny, who took us through our event on the night, talking us through each type of gin in depth, the gin making process, and answering all of our questions. All of the staff on the night were also very friendly and lovely. The food was absolutely delicious, of great quality, and presented beautifully. They catered for a few different dietary requirements, and all our guests had plenty to eat. Everything went swimmingly, thank you Prohibition Liquor for making our night so special and memorable. I'll be recommending this place again and again!
L. W.
Do it! You know you want to taste some of the best gins in the southern hemisphere! Don't wait, you'll regret it.

Amazing Gin Distillery and Bar with an awesome Selection of South Australian and Australian Gins and International ones
M. G.
How fantastic was that. Tour of the distillery and met Adam. Thanks 🙏 to Mary. #welldone boys
M. L.
We had such a great time at a private function. Lovely tapas style food handed around. A small but adequate bar. Great modern space for around 100 people with indoor and on street seating. The stainless and brass distillery was amazing.
L. D.
Staff are great, drinks outstanding, food also wonderful. The Negroni gin is one of a kind. One of Adelaide’s best kept secrets.
G. A.
Fantastic place, we held our client party here and it did not disappoint! Amazing service and a wide variety of drinks to satisfy all of our guests needs! Could not recommend more!
H. S.
Lovely place with lovely people! The gin is amazing and the cocktails are gorgeous 😍
S. V.
Great spot. Awesome gins, staff were helpful and definitely knew their gins. The gin flights are great value and fun. Had a big group and the staff helped out and set us up on a big table. 10/10 would drink the green ant gin again.
N. C.
The guys and girls here are fantastic. Always service with a smile. There Gins are awesome. Food great. They have now just installed a new still out the back for all to see. If you want to experience what's happening in Adelaide right now. Then this is a must to see and stop at.
T. B.
Great ambiance, wonderful drinks and very knowledgeable wait staff. The saffron duckies in the bathtub gin - stroke of genius. To continue the pun gold - please consider changing your 'Legally Blonde' cocktail to come 'with-a-spoon'.
D. C.
Loved it! Again.....we keep coming back.
b. m.
Just a random message. I recently purchased some of your gin from Dan Murphy’s in Melbourne (mainly because I was trying something new and loved the bottle shape) then I realised you guys were from Adelaide! (My home town!) On top of that also noticed you now occupy 22 Gilbert St, where I used to work in a sign company! Small word! But more importantly loved the taste of your gin and will buy again! Love seeing such quality products coming out of Adelaide :)
Hope things continue well for you in these trying times.
S. B.
Fantastic selection of not only Prohibition’s gin but many of the best local and imported gins. The two lads on where able to give us a great overview of Prohibitions history and current place in the craft Gin world.
If gin is not your thing don’t worry they’ve got it covered with many other drinks also available from craft beers to cocktails.
Highly recommend dropping past getting a Gin flight and discovering what prohibition is all about.
The distillery is laid out as a modern open aired bar with several group tables. A small range of food available such as platters and gourmet toasties are on offer.
I. L.
They know how to make gin.
B. C.
Great staff, great gin, great atmosphere
B. C.
The coolest spot to hit Gilbert St in recent years. A chance to try one of the latest and greatest Gins to come out of South Australia (the Gin State!) - in an experience particularly designed to showcase their own Prohibition Gin! But you don't just have to try their own - they have a whole plethora of locally crafted spirits at the ready! You can choose to have them in a cocktail - or even better, try a flight of them! Skilled bartenders and great bar snacks. Top points!
B. L.
Excellent tasting experience at a great venue by friendly crew.
C. H.
So Much Fun !!! Definitely go and do the gin flight. It's so great to be able to do a gin tasting in the middle of the city ! The staff are friendly and very knowledgable and they make it a great experience
M. T.
My wife and I went to the Prohibition for our anniversary (something different). I learned a lot about gin from our very helpful and friendly host. The food was also fantastic. All in all a terrific experience and will come again. Thoroughly recommend this.
C. J.
I'm a Gin lover, the staff were very knowledgeable with their product and the process. Facility is nice, we will be back - great experience!
K. F.
Huge selection of gins, tasting flights and informed staff to assist with queries. Great atmosphere and snacks/meals to accompany.
C. S.
I expected more. Bar staff couldn't suggest options to pair their different gins. Cucumber, lime, lemon, neat, tonics, etc. Their produced gins are however good.
I. W.
The entire experience at Prohibition Liquor is something that you will remember. The cocktails and martini drinks are sensational, we will return for a forth visit soon.
S. W.
Excellent customer service. Amazing GIN! Best time to go is a Sunday so there is no need to paid parking. Great to catch up with friends and share platters.

S. E.
Nice place run by people passionate about Gin. Well worth a stop-in.
A. Z.
I am leaving a review because they do a drink called the dirty bathtub. And the guy said it’s not a bathtub without rubber ducks in it. So he literally put ice blocks shaped as ducks on top.
That single handedly made my day and I’ve been utterly amused since then!
T. “. M.
The staff are amazing (that's what they told me). But seriously, friendly staff, nice atmosphere, and a lot of gin knowledge.

Absolutely amazing! Myself and 30 other ladies partook in their cocktail making class for a hens party over the weekend and couldn’t recommend it anymore if we tried.
The class itself was amazing and everyone learnt some great tips and tricks, food was delicious too!
The staff made the night- for everyone! They were all so personable, knowledgeable and an absolute pleasure to be around.
M.
We had a great experience tasting a range of gins at Prohibition. We loved listening to the stories behind each creation as well.
The tasting paddle is the best way to sample a range of gins, and you can get up to 4 gins on the paddle. There were a range of gin based cocktails as well. The place had a great vibe, and we had a very relaxing afternoon sampling gin.
