The tie up with the hot chicken project is amazing! Went to grab some chicken and a few beers, solid tap selection and the inclusion of zero alcohol beer on tap is nice. Friendly service. As to the chicken, hands down one of the best chicken burgers I’ve ever had (crispy skin one). hHeat level is a bit oversold, had a few ‘evil’ tenders and they were more than manageable.

Very enjoyable street party at the Saracens Head with live music and a variety of craft beers, gin and rum. There wasn't any cider, which was a shame, but the chicken was great and the fries were crispy and well seasons. They have converted the pokies room into a proper gaming room with 2 pool tables, pinball and arcade games - much more family friendly.

Having had The Hot Chicken Project many times in Geelong I went with a lot of excitement and was hyping it up to my friends and I wasn’t disappointed. The HCP pop is just as good as in Geelong, the fried chicken i juicy, tender and full of flavour. The spices are spot on and taste e exactly as I know it. It really is great to see there has been nothing skipped including the menu and the baskets you eat from. Speaking to one of the staff members I found out of the chefs were over from Geelong ensuring the quality of the product! Certainly not something I would have every week (even though I could easily!) I will be making a few visits and hope it can stay around for a lot longer!!

Beautiful building, nice atmosphere and live music was great - that’s the 3 stars. The food - not so great. We were expecting a pub meal, but the waitress explained their new menu, and raved about the new Michelin chef and the American style chicken they were doing. We embraced it, and went for it despite thinking we’d come for a pub meal. I ordered chicken tenders plus a side (fries) for almost $30. It was at best what I’d expect of a kids meal served in plastic trays. Tenders were okay, if you were a kid that wanted a fairly simple mean. Fries were quite hard and boring. And sauces - you have to pay extra for. All up it was about $100 for 2 chicken burgers, chicken tenders and 3 soft drinks. Fairly steep considering.

Very cool and modern looking pub. the Saracens head has a very nice selection of beer. The male toilets were flooded but I'm sure that's not a regular thing. Unless that's part of an upcoming pool feature? Great for a pint in a laid back atmosphere.

I came here for The Hot Chicken Project popup and I can say I walked away very happy and satisfied. The service was incredible, the staff friendly and the chicken....... the best fried chicken I've had outside of the USA! (And even trumps some) true to Nashville style if you like heat I suggest get the Hot or the "so damn hot". Will definitely be back!

The Saracens Head was pretty good. Their fried chicken was delicious, and hot as hell! It's really nice inside, with a dining area, beer garden and even a games room with pinnies and a pool table. Unfortunately the music was really loud for meal Time and it was hard to have a conversation. However the live band that came on later were really fun and entertaining.

Nice relaxed atmosphere, more of a boutique sought of pub which i prefer as they generally serve better food and tend to have a few boutique beers on tap as well. Outside seating area looks great with the timber deck and wood pizza oven, maybe could be abit bigger area and maybe some more comfortable chairs for sitting down for longer periods of time. One downside would probably be the parking on Carrington Street could be abit of a pain

In summary it’s an average pub. The atmosphere is OK but due to all the hard surfaces is extremely hard to hear a conversation when there is more than 2 or 3 tables in use. The menu sounded appealing but was disappointing in reality. I had the salmon it was quite small and over cooked, the salad was little more than a garnish, friend had a pizza and really enjoyed it.

This is pretty decent pub food, especially for the price tag you grow to expect in the city. They've got a range of options and specials during the day, the drinks are priced as you'd expect in the CBD, and the service is friendly. Lots of seated areas to choose from, although it is very loud in the evenings.

Had a meeting after work on a Thursday night. Not the Saracens Thursdays I remember when I was younger. But this place is such a good vibe, the staff are fantastic. The people behind the bar are amazing, the chef cooked up an amazing vegan pizza. No vegan cheese, just good ingredients. Keen to head here more often especially when the aftermath of covid is finished. 5 stars 💯

Nice place for a beer, didn't eat the food but saw there was 2 for 1 schnitzels on Thursday nights. Also they had a pizza oven cranking out great looking pizzas in the beer garden area. Staff were friendly, overall a good experience. Recommend.

The staff were friendly and efficient. The food was well prepared and tasted good. We had a craft beer and the only complaint would be that the beer could have been a bit colder. They did however give us chilled glasses. They have a wood fired pizza oven at the back close to the outdoor seating area.

Came back just recently for lunch on a Sunday. It was very quiet but nevertheless we stayed and shared a steak sandwich which was great the meat was nicely cooked with not one bit of gristle in it. Not a bad pub. Visited here on a Tuesday for a schnitty special. $18.50 with chips, salad and sauce of your choice. The chicken schnitty I got had a nice crumb layer that was nice and crunchy. Plenty of seating outside at the front and in the beer garden out the back. More seating within. Staff were friendly. Street parking available in the local surrounds

Very accommodating of big groups. Delicious meals with a wide selection, amazing wine menu and $10 espresso martinis! The staff were very friendly and provided great customer service, they really went out of their way to make it a great night for us.

The pizzas alone are worth 5 stars. I bring friends here all the time just to try them. Doesn't hurt that some of the pizzas chefs are pretty cute ;) The one time something was wrong with one of the pizzas in a group, they effortlessly gave us a full refund with a genuine apology. Mistakes happen sometimes but they rectified it as best they could. We used the refund to share deserts between the group. Everyone left full and happy. All the staff have always been lovely. Great feel to the place, with different seating options around both inside and out.

Really good food. We particularly enjoyed the daily special pizza which had a rocket pesto on it. Very delicious, though a shame its a daily special and not a regular menu item. Staff were nice and attentive.

I love this venue. The staff are friendly and helpful, good selection of drinks, nice decor. Only issue is the bathrooms - they're always messy and unclean and the women's bathroom near the pokies room has the toilet paper sitting on top of the sanitary bin. Not so sanitary if you ask me.

Went there for birthday party. Service very very good. Venue tired. Toilets need attention and if you require disabled facilities, forget it. Only disabled toilet available very difficult to get to and entrance through a messy store room. Pretty much third world standard once you get in there.

Great venue, really spacious for a works do for over 200 guests. Food was lovely and staff very attentive. The only thing to let the place down and is the toilets. They are not good at all. Sort that out and its 5 stars!

The best schnitzel I have had in a long while. From the outside, the place doesn't look like much. Looks like any other pub situated inside a building from the 18 or 1900's. Turned out to be quite the opposite upon entry. A fairly updated and modern dining room felt a little on the cold side but with a few fireplaces around the establishment, it felt a little warmer. with concrete floors and brick walls, the Sacarens Head Hotel has done a good job to absorb bouncing sound with rugs and acoustic foam under all their chairs. Service was ample. Nothing special, but not poor either. Table water was provided without requesting which was nice. Standard hotel meal service, needing to go up to the bar to order food and drinks. Drinks of which customers carry back to their own table. Cleanliness from the bar to the dining room to the table and crockery was spotless. No stains or marks could be seen. Food was amazing. Ordered a chicken schnitzel with mushroom sauce. Meal came out relatively quickly (we were one of the only patrons on a Monday night) and looked scrumptious. Schnitzel was nice and thick, retaining the juiciness of the meat. Perfectly bread crumbed and fried, even the thinner parts of the schnitzel did not see any dryness. Chips were nicely seasoned with light (chicken?) salt. Crunchy on the outside, moist and fluffy on the inside. Salad was also pleasant to consume. A small side salad dressed with olive oil and a bit of, I believe, white balsamic. Overall, a perfect meal with a good serving size. Would recommend to others.

They loved this pub so much, they loved their meals and the celebration of their friend's 60th birthday at this venue. Our group also reported back that the staff here are very friendly.
