Comments of The Bridgewater Inn
M. C.
Drove up to Bridgewater Inn up in the Adelaide Hills for a family lunch.
Nice scenic drive, accentuated by light showers.
The property is historical, nestled at a bend of a rather quiet street. Ample parking spaces gave an early impression of the huge popularity of this property.
Glad we called up ahead and made a reservation, else we would have had to wait for at least an hour.
We ordered the rump steak medallion, roast chicken and a kid's meal deal (cheese burger+drink+sundae).
The service was prompt and efficient and the food was fantastic.
Met with the chef, Stephen and gave him the compliment of preparing excellent food.
Good value for time and money spent!
Highly recommended 👌

It’s an amazing establishment. Great setting - such a beautiful spot.
The kids loved playing near the stream. Made little boats and raced them. We were seated right next to the stream, so could keep an eye on them.
Great food, drink and live music. It can get busy but the service is still superb. If you haven’t been, make it an absolute ’must’! Highly recommended.
B. l.
Amazing pub! Wish we had come here in summer as opposed to Autumn. What an outdoor area! Don’t care what the food is like, would come for the outdoor area and atmosphere alone!
E. T.
How good is this place. Wide open spaces great food, great service. Everything was top notch. Really love the outdoor seating area near the creek. Kids had a ball exploring the creek area.

Dropped by Bridgewater Inn for lunch. Impressive ambience with ample seating and a nice beer garden. Quite a few choices on the menu which are all reasonably priced. They had a few specials for lunch as well. We ordered the smoked kingfish n the BBQ pork ribs which was cooked to perfection with the meat sliding of the bone. The kingfish came with a refreshing pomegranate salad which pairs well. Good use of local ingredients on most of their dishes. The food servers and bar staff were very friendly, approachable and professional. Looking forward to our next visit there soon.

What a great location and pub! We sat river side, had attentive staff, amazing food and great entertainment - Ella & Sienna. Huge variety of food - roast pumpkin, surf and turf and pub normals - steak sandwich. The pub was busy but-staff could not have made us more comfortable. Easy to park or walk too. Worth the bus ride from Adelaide.
A. M.
Fabulous food great menu excellent outdoor seating loads for the kids to explore. Large drink selection craft beers and wines.

I had one of the specials. Lamb skewers, pictured, $28, the sorbet duo which was Queensland mango and wild raspberry, pictured, $12, three of my friends ordered the sticky date pudding with extra, yummy sauce, my oldest friend ordered the Atlantic salmon, pictured, one of the girls had the burger, one had the vegan curry and of course one of the girls had a chicken parmigiana and another had the salt and pepper squid.
We All loved our meals.
My skewers, glass of muscat, sorbet and Best Mocha Ever set me back $53.50.
This price was expected and we'll worth it.
The meat on the skewers were unbelievably tender.
The staff extremely helpful, friendly and accommodating.
After you finish your meal it is well worth taking a stroll in the back yard where you can either sit and enjoy more drinks while listening to the stream going by or choose a trail and follow the gorgeous stream.
Not far away, 5 minute walk maximum, is the Bridgewater Mill.
Also very scenic but more expensive for food.
Having visited the area during a wet winter, it is a joy to see rivulets of water everywhere.
We all enjoyed ourselves tremendously and vowed to return again
Very serene, beautiful location to spend quality time with family/friends.
Highly recommended.

One of my very favourite places in the Adelaide Hills. Plenty of parking, great service, specials each night of the week & music on Sunday's as well as peaceful views. Option of indoor or outdoor dining. Great atmosphere! Thanks for making my evening a special one!
I. O.
Loved our lunch there Very popular Meals were very well presented and delicious My lambs fry was very tender and tasted as good as it looked Sweets were sticky date pudding and my husband had apple pie We will be going back and joining all those customers who were also enjoying their meals as well

Great food, perfect venue! It was a hot day and being a group of third age, retired friends, we opted to eat more safely outside! Cox Creek, which runs alongside the outdoor dining area was flowing, which added to the area's ambience. Substantial shady umbrellas and soft, water mist constantly emanating from the overhead system between the tables kept us cool and comfortable! What a clever idea! Christmas week and very busy lunch trade but both food and service were excellent! We didn't have to wait very long at all once we had selected our choice from the broad and varied menu. Cost was most reasonable with seniors options available. Sorry no pics!
L. G.
Such a beautiful location. Our food was great! Food and drink prices were pretty good. We adored sitting by the creek with the ducks. We’re very excited to eat here again!
R. W.
Beautiful warm sunny day sat outside down by creek. Tasty menu and seniors menu. Staff attentive. QR code checkin and masks required when standing.
R. B.
An Incredible experience with outstanding staff that where very accommodating to our large group of humans and dogs. Great drinks price's/specials and food was on point. 5/5 can't wait to come back.
D. L.
This is a lovely setting and I have happily eaten here several times with my brother and his wife, both of whom enthuse about the venue. Tonight, however, I am somewhat disappointed. I asked for half chips and double salad with my meal, since I am tired of the huge number of chips most hotels serve. This means I constantly send back 3/4 of my chips in every hotel I eat in. It's such a waste. Happy to pay for extra salad. The server gave a straight out "no". Not particularly pleasantly and no questions asked. I queried both his answer and his attitude. In the end I ordered a larger salad and no chips. A bit of a shame, as I do like a few chips but it felt like it was just too hard. Sad since it's left me feeling ambivalent about the entire venue. Addendum: the food was good as always, and the server has just checked that my steak was cooked to my order. Maybe he's just had a bad day!
G. R.
Went in for their discount schnitzel lunch with family and found a beautiful Victorian era pub with stained glass windows, old fireplaces, timber beams and tasteful modern renos. Younger bar/wait staff were vibrant, accommodating and made a good coffee. The snit was good but not spectacular, the crumb tasted a little vinegary and the mushroom sauce could have been smoother. I'm sure their dishes will be better when they're not pumping out dozens of the same meal in one service. Overall experience was positive and I would recommend to those looking for a casual, comfortable time.
G. A.
Recently had the pleasure of a relaxing lunch in the outdoor area at a table shaded with a large umbrella overlooking the scenic creek setting.
Service was very good provided by friendly staff. Speed of service was good for both food and drinks.
The menu provided a good selection of standard pub style food. The drinks menu was large and diverse.
There was also a seasonal specials menu and special drinks menu.
Plenty of parking on the Aldgate side of the pub not immediately apparent when driving past.
B. N.
Just a beautiful spot at this time of year (autumn). The tiered outdoor beer garden set amongst cool shaded trees and the creek at the bottom is lovely. A real family vibe with kids exploring the creek and surrounding area takes one back to growing up in the hills, hunting tadpoles etc. Well worth a stop 😁
B. S.
Beautiful surroundings and great food, it's better to reserve a table before you go specially if you wish to sit at Creek site.
R. H.
Had the most amazing meal here with family, we often go out around Adelaide and different pubs and restaurants and this was by far the best we have had in a long time.
Steak was cooked perfectly, friend has the vegan menu which they loved, portion sizes were great and the menu looked amazing, one of those menus where you want to order one of everything. Our whole table raved about their meals and we even asked to thank the chef and he came out and chatted with us which made the whole experience so memorable.
Definately booking in for future birthdays and recommending for my friend's wedding reception, find it hard to think of going somewhere else now
Would give more stars if I could!! Thank you chef!!!
M. C.
Great place with a lovely atmosphere, and even fully booked it runs like a well-oiled machine.
Get the giant pretzel, it’s quite amazing.
Q. R.
Large hills country pub with quite large dining areas inside and out.
Outdoors dining is very large and has its own bar. It get real busy with families in good weather so would pay to book well in advance.
Inside, downstairs is ok but lighting could be improved somewhat. Quite dim in some spots.
Staff were great, food was reasonable, drinks prices were on the high side, especially the wine.
A lot of car parking on site but it gets very busy and fills up quickly from 1pm on.
It's a nice location for a long lunch afternoon.
Cheers, Q.
b. h.
Really nice place to have a feed and a few drinks. We went as a group of 12 with kids and all meals came out quickly and tasted great. Kids meals and mains all good sizes. Staff were all attentive and friendly. Great little park nearby aswel.
J. W. J.
This place is beyond imagination, so so beautiful… the whole vibe was different…
We sat next to the creek’s view, it was incredible experience with heaters of course since it was so cold and rainy….
Staff was wonderful❤️
Let’s come to the Main part of the review “FOOD”
We ordered fish and chips, chicken schnitzel and wait for it not done yet…. 16hrs slow cooked pumpkin curry with rice… it was divine, it was almost like Srilankan Curry… so smooth, creamy and roasted cashews were giving whole crunchy feel… I would say must try dish….
Yet not done, remember there is nothing without dessert, we opted for Affogato with Kahlua and again all happiness…
Must go my dear Adelaide peeps…
A. M.
Vegetarian snitzel with mash and gravy. Hooley Dooley...yum! Very generous serves. I didn't even have tea tonight! The staff are the friendliest you will find anywhere which makes it all a very nice experience.
p. m.
Nice place to visit. Good variety on the menu and good service. Definitely worth a visit and on a cooler day the beer garden would be great. One of the best beer gardens I've seen.
M. T.
Very well organised in the beer garden. Staff were attentive and friendly and meals were above average and served quickly.
Would recommend booking if you want lunch on a weekend as it’s a popular place for good reason.
A. L.
This is my regular hotel and the current team have taken the hotel to a whole new level. The environment, friendly service and the food are consistently good. The new chef's menu is real plus. The way the team have handled the covid restrictions and are constantly able to pivot without missing a beat is a real credit to everyone there.
M. Y.
We ate outside. Lovely decked area. Really appreciated the personal service with heaters positioned just where we requested, clean blankets available for use. Food was hot, delicious and generous sized serves. I would happily return.
D. W.
What a fabulous pub!! Brilliant food, Sunday roast is the best!! we had a great Sunday arvo here with Pete and Tanya, thank you all for your wonderful hospitality!! staff were brilliant!
c. c.
Staff were friendly, service was very good and no long waits. The building and outside is beautiful, however, its not all accessible. Standard pub style food, not bad, not exceptional. Awesome views.
m. l.
Loved it. We had a large group with lots of kids and it was perfect. Great food and drink and plenty of room for the kids to run around without upsetting the other guests.
M. J. B.
Meal was so filling & absolutely delicious, sitting outside near the creek having the ducks around & the little fairy garden for younger kids was great.
Totally recommend it, family & dog friendly & the staff were lovely. I would recommend booking a table as it was quite busy.
D. H.
Absolutely beautiful! The location is possibly one of the best beer gardens in Australia!
Food is incredible and well priced. They also have a dogdy menu!
A. D.
This is such a beautuful place. I have lived in Adelaide for several years but missed this place. Visited this place for dinner on 1st Feb 2022. Truely awesome ambience. Beer garden, private rooms, excellent decking and good maintenance of trees/plants. Service was good.
Food was OK (not so great) but a place of natrual beauty to enjoy with friends/family.
Highly recommended!
S. H.
We had lunch here during a very busy service. Staff were superb, classic pub options and other delicious fare. Great setting.
P. T.
Great pub just out of Adelaide. Great food.
M. C.
Amazing food the mediterranean stew was the most tasty stew I’ve had in years. Wanted to try something new and you didn’t disappoint, would highly recommend the Bridgwater inn.
J. S.
We had our wedding at the Bridgewater Inn recently and we couldn’t fault a thing. Elise, Matt and all the staff were absolutely amazing and went out of their way to make the day perfect! The food was absolutely incredible! Elise and Matt thank you so much for an amazing night!
M. J. (.
Great atmosphere and the menu is fantastic for all dietary requirements! I was so shocked to see how many amazing Vegan options there were!
G. B.
Enjoyed our meal and meeting friends at the Bridgewater Inn. Menu Excellent. Staff relaxed and friendly. The garden setting, complete with creek has been landscaped beautifully. Car parking easy.
D. K.
Set in such a beautuful surroundings and even dogs are welcome.
M. B.
Amazing beer garden. Exceptional service by Matt! A great spot for a drive through the hills and a nice meal.
Would highly recommend.
L. G.
This is the second time I have been there this year.
Each time I have had the Seniors Menu, which is a great selection and very, very reasonably priced, the food was fantastic, I highly recommend this place.
P. E.
$12 schnitzel night on a Wednesday is a must. Simply amazing outdoor area in warmer weather and a great country feel in the cooler weather l
A. B.
Great place, staff, food & location. Get there.👍
C. M.
My seafood combo was delicious & fresh, but there was no pepper in the salt & pepper squid, that was disappointing. The vegetarian curry was fantastic according to a couple of group members, but the roast of the day, which was lamb was cold according to one group member. This place is good for smaller groups eg: 10 - 15 people, any bigger & the staff struggle with orders. The moccachino I had & the cappucino some of the group had was fantastic. This was my second visit, one year apart. The food is still fantastic.
A. P.
An underrated pub with character and heart located in Bridgwater, just outside of Stirling. One not to miss for its delicious meals and charming interior
K. R.
Great place for a beer and food and to catch a little wild life
N. M.
Friendly staff, good range, great food and a beer garden that goes for days. Definitely worth a look if you're in that neck of the woods.
K. W.
First visit & was a great place. Ducks try & steal any food. Guinness on tap,so no complaints.
R. K.
Enjoyed the sunshine on the lower deck amongst the trees. The food and service were excellent.
M. T.
Lovely food, good value. Wine is a little on the expensive side at $19 for a glass of red.
P. H.
Loved it!! Very romantic out in the beer garden Situated in a good little spot with a small river with friendly little ducks .The staff were nice and helpful.
Loved the food
A. T.
Spoke to a girl named Lily on the phone about booking for a large group of people, she was lovely & was able to accommodate for everything
V. V. R.
Staff are all friendly and helpful. The creek side is absolutely stunning. Meals are very good too.
C. G.
Always good to be here beautiful atmosphere great customer service and most delicious meals and perfect entertainment
S. S.
Good food and great service. When a concern was raised re: an allergy, the staff happily remade the dish immediately.
M. G.
Nice historic pub in a beautiful location and beautiful on grounds. Nice atmosphere and two on-site carparks. Wheelchair accessible. Friendly staff and good food.
J. K.
Lovely pub with a great vibe. It feel social and the setting is beautiful!. Great food and drink selections.
H. O.
Amazing food, kind, friendly and accommodating staff- beautiful location, can't recommend enough. Thanks guys :-)
L. L.
Lovely place for a great getaway. The roast pork belly salad is a must-order-main course.
M.
Excellent food, great service, plenty of variety, friendly staff. Will definitely be back.
I. H. I.
Finally found a pub that does crumbed prawns still! Nice place for dinner, slightly flat atmosphere but good food and nice staff.
J. W.
Great atmosphere, friendly staff and I thoroughly enjoyed my rump steak. Thank you.
C. W.
Great meals, friendly staff. Outside under the vines, or inside always get good service
m.
This is my favourite Adelaide Hills pub.
Not the fanciest but probably has the nicest beer garden out of the lot of them. Food is usually pretty decent as well. I've had the steak and the chicken parmigiana on separate occasions and both meals were great.
T. E.
Super spot! Food was super. No complaints. Was awesome to see kids playing in the creek for hours.. not an iPad in sight!!! 😀
C. S.
Great food, drinks, service as always! Love the beautiful beer garden! 🎙🎶Was a pleasure to sing with the local Guitarist/Singer at the Bridgewater!
P. C.
The meal was delicious especially the sticky date pudding. The staff were very friendly and helpful. I was in a large bus trip group and we were so close together servers had to pass our meals down the tables as no room to get between tables. This was not good if we wanted to go to the bar for a drink either. Lovely warm open log fire.
J. S.
Great local Adelaide hills pub. The owners have really brought the interior and atmosphere forwards - keeping the quintessential hills feel. Great beer garden in summer and roaring fires and rough hewn stone walls in winter.
The kitchen however has fared less well and whilst the food used to be outstanding it’s now mediocre. The good Aussie pub staples are still in good nick but if you stray off the straight and narrow be prepared for the lavish menu not to appear on your plate.
A. W.
Went on a quiet night. I imagine this would be nuts in high season. Nice vegan meals. Lovely staff.
S.
Good food and nice setting. Highly recommend.
V. D.
Well we went for lunch. Which was lovely. But the building work outside was noisy. And the staff tried to hurry us out due to building work. The cigarette smoke from the building workers was awful. It was a beautiful day. The servers were polite if disconnected.
A. G.
The setting is an experience in itself! The wine selection and the service were an absolute delight!
C.
Friendly staff
Delicious food
Nice atmosphere 💯👌
G. W.
Great service, good pub food and attentive staff. Highly recommend
A. M.
Wonderful vegan options and excellent customer service. A lovely venue for a special meal.
M. S.
Beautiful place to sit inside or outside and watch the world go by. Gets very fresh during the evenings though.
D. L.
Good old pub, very welcoming.. open fires good good and nice atmosphere..
H. H.
I had a lovely afternoon here with my husband, a great old style pub with a warm and friendly atmosphere.
I loved the beer garden, with the river running next to it (it was raining though so unfortunately didn't enjoy a drink out there!)
Hoping to come back when it's warmer!
L. v. d. L.
Great food and atmosphere... the beers I had were tasting a bit old unfortunately.
B. A.
Beautiful building. Pub style food. Followed strict COVID guidelines and staff went above and beyond.
S. E.
Good breakfast on a Sunday morning. Nice outdoor setting along the creek.
M. S.
What a really great place. Very good coffee but best of all the ambience is perfect for a meal by the fire when its blustery and rainy outside. Lots of space indoors and umbrellas and heaters outside. We just called in after a long drive and we will return.
A. P.
What a great place, fantastic location, great food and great service.
M.
Great location, even in winter, rugs and heaters supplied. I’m keen to return with the kids and gum boots to play in the creek. Good GF Gluten Free options clearly labelled on the menu.
R. A.
Quaint little pub. Large beer garden, adjacent creek makes for a nice setting. Better suited for the warmer seasons though. Venue does have some gas heaters to take the edge off.
Food is good quality and service is fast and friendly.
C. B.
Nice food. Lovely atmosphere, being such a cold day today the welcome of an open fire burning was purely devine, trouble is I did not want to leave. Great staff. It's a top pub 👏👍
F. B.
Very friendly and efficient service, good choices on the menu, very pleasant meal
G. H.
Amazing food. Really, really good food. Very child friendly and the staff were super friendly. Couldn't recommend higher.
J. B.
Like most places covids ruined, surprisingly the Bridgey still gets by with a good tick to the venue.
Only little let down personally if i didn't want to get into details specifically about all the small things wrong is, -what happened to the 4 pool tables growing up? Enduring in the main front room as a massive social spectical and now its either ghosttown 5 day's a week or your looked at like a red carpet walker entering the pub the 2 other days, when it's proper busy and sufficient to have? Instead they have seating that just gets (maybe) used throughout the week. Only on weekends for it to actually fill up for people eating? 5 day's a week no one uses, 2 days with? If i had a pub to keep it original and happy for the locals it's probably commonsense to have both optional for the sake of being versatile & gaining more business weekly. Over the changes in that factor, but the pandemic has changed everything/everyones spectical, -moneys everything unfortunately...
Good pub still though lol.🤘😎
S. E.
Our group had a delightful evening for dinner. The meals were excellent. The staff were very friendly. It was good to have a staff member take our drinks order who was knowledgeable about various wines.
N. G.
Food was great and not over done... Presentation was also good for the venue and food. Meals for group bookings were delivered in a timely manner. Over all was excellent and would recommend this location.
W. S.
New years day lunch. Great place. Good food and friendly staff.
Highly recommend
J. P.
Waters edge dining in the form of a babbling brook, sun shining, beautiful spring afternoon, delicious food, lovely for that special occasion or any occasion. It's become a favourite.
A. W.
The food was amazing and the kids had a great time.
Upstairs smelt smokey from the fire (? Chimney needs a clean), so I prefererred to sit outside- nice and toasty next to the gas heater.
Excellent service, excellent food, lovely atmosphere.
L. L.
Loved being able to have a late lunch instead of having to rush to put in our order for lunch by 2pm like most pubs in the hills. Had an amazing satay salmon dish and all the other meals were enjoyed on our table. The outside dining area is absolutely beautiful and if you have young kids, the added bonus is the playground next door!
C. L.
Venue 10/10 - This pub is absolutely stunning inside and out.
Food 8/10 - It wasn't spectacular but it was definitely good.
Service 10/10 - The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming, plus our meals were served promptly.
My husband and I visited the Bridgewater Inn tonight to celebrate our first wedding anniversary.
We had never been here before and had never even heard of this place before, but wow. We will most definitely be back, it was the perfect place for a romantic little anniversary dinner.
Y. J.
Great staff and good meals with reasonable price. We will definitely be back there. :)
A. H.
Tasty food! Nice to sit by the river too. Great that they had a veggie/vegan option. Would go again
B. M.
Best experience in a pub for a very long time. Sat outside near the creek, undercover eating, drinking and watching the ducks. Very very relaxing. I'd like to give it 41/2 stars dropping 1/2 only because of the choice of steaks. Service very friendly and nothing was a problem.
G. H.
Great country pub, with a friendly atmosphere.
J. F.
I went for Wednesday schnitzel night, its a great price and tasted nice. Good portion size for price. Seemed to be a popular place too as there was quite a few people already there. Staff were friendly and helpful.
M. H.
Love the Bridgy. Used to be my local, but still only a stones throw away, and a firm favourite!
The beer garden out the back is so serene, and juts keeps getting better. Such a beautiful outlook over the stream.
The upstairs bar and bistro has gorgeous old world/country pub kinda charm, with plenty of seating, a pool table and darts. There's also a pokies room, if you're in to that.
The staff are warm and friendly and have a great manager.
There's a fabulous drinks menu with lots of good local beer and wine.
The food menu just keeps getting better too.
The downstairs restaurant is a converted cellar i think. Its cool and quirky, but a bit too dark and enclosed for me.
S. S.
It was absolutely fantastic service was great atmosphere was0 so relaxing
A. T.
We have a dinner with my friend's family here. It's next to an 1-hour return hiking trail, a water mill, and a playground. Given that, it's a pretty nice and cozy place to hang out with families and kids. The foods are quite decent, just a bit pricey. I personally am not a big fan of the Schnitzel, especially the sauce (maybe I'm used to Wiener Schnitzel). My friends got two medium steaks which are burnt on the side (it tastes bitter that you would rather not prefer).
P. S.
A small group of us went for lunch. We had a beautiful day to sit outside. We were impressed with the senior's meal which most of had - a good size serve and very tasty. Thanks and appreciation go to the staff who were very helpful and attentive with their service, and accommodating with a change in seating requirements. Christine
D. C.
Amazing food. Amazing service. Very Happy
P. M.
Great outside dining area and good value food
P. T.
Lovely Day to sit outside, great lunch menu
J. S.
I have really enjoyed eating in the downstairs dining area over the years. Warm and friendly location.
R. Z.
Beautiful location great food
S. S.
We had a wonderful time on Fathers Day. The meal was delicious and served in a timely fashion considering how busy they seemed to be. The service crew were amazing. Big hands up to Ryan and Thomas. Well done to all the staff there. We will certainly be back. Thank you. Bridgewater Inn.
S. M.
Just had a late afternoon glass of wine. Always a convivial atmosphere. Great food when I have eaten here. I usually eat on the lower level. Beautiful old building. Very welcoming. Warm cosy fire in winter.
Nice outside on a hot night. Great for kids.
A. Y.
Super large servings and very worth the money! The garden dining area is sooo pretty at night.
C. H.
It had a very wholesome family vibe. Very kid friendly. Lovely fun staff and its super toasty inside with the fire places on. Huge burgers ! Bigger the your face ! Very nice. I took one start off because they removed the mushroom burger and everything else is very meat centric.
J. H.
Second visit solidified a 5star review. Yes the food is great as are the drink specials on Friday and Saturdays but it's the service that's the stand out. Shout out to Lauryn, Ella, Nins, Kirralee and the security chick (didn't catch her name). Personality, service and smiles like a true country pub.
P. v. r.
Good food, friendly staff. Well done, keep up the the vibe!
P. H.
Very nice shaded area for drinks and tasty meals out the back
z. h.
Hands Down the best Pub in the Hills! I had the Bridgy Burger and it was awesome!! The kids absolutely loved their meals and enjoyed being able to play amongst the natural surroundings the pub is placed within. The staff are so friendly and even brought out a treat and a bowl of water for our dog that we were able to bring along too! Would 100% recommend making a drive into the hills to visit this beautiful pub
L. T.
Great pub, great staff! This excellent venue always brings the hills to life. Love it here, and will continue to go back for the great food and cold beer. Don't have any complaints, not do I think I will ever. I love how they've just redone the led lighting, and threw a big party to celebrate. Can't wait to go to more of their special nights
D. B.
Great locations and friendly staff. The fish and chips was pretty average but I saw some other meals come out that looked awesome. Definitely worth a visit.
M. Q.
I had the coopers pale ale beer battered fish, my partner had the chicken schnitzel with mushroom gravy and they were both delicious! It's cosy inside and the outside bistro downstairs has an incredible view of the creek. Fresh air, great food and the warm ambience makes this one of my all time favourites for small intimate dinners for two or big group events! Highly recommend!
P. B.
I didn't eat here, so can't comment on the food. It's a lovely place though - the beer garden has a creek running along the bottom, a great way to keep kids occupied while you relax. The upstairs bar was cosy and comfortable, with a real fire and some leather armchairs and sofas. Staff were friendly and efficient.
S. F.
Superb meals, service, prices.
Been my local pub for almost 36 years.
Cannot fault.
Currently undergoing renos (needed!) but can only improve on the impeccable everything!

Really lovely relaxing outdoors service excellent and friendly staff. The food is fantastic a real pleasure to have hot food served really great size plates if food. Dessert to die for. Great selection of wines, beer, coffee fantastic. Nothing is too much for the staff . Will definitely be going back. Adore this place has a lot of great memories and my family.

Little gem, food was lovely. Good night.
N. S.
Delicious food. Beautiful sitting area by running water canal
K. M.
This is a nice place to eat. The area down by the creek is lovely, the inside eatery is classic Australian pub, on a grand scale.
Food is "pub" but very well done.
S. S.
Amazing hills pub with a beautiful beer alongside a creek. Well priced meals and good quality too, just loved the burrito bowl. Kids loved playing around the creek, perfect spot to spend a Sunday afternoon.
L. M.
I helped coordinate an event here and I was so impressed by the quality of the space, food, and staff. It was truly a great night. All the staff members were so incredibly helpful and attentive. I would highly recommend events/functions here.
L. B.
Went here for a birthday party. The place had a very friendly relaxed feel. Had the roasted veg with quinoa. Was expecting a hot meal so was surprised when it arrived as a cold dish. Some 'salads' are very yummy when warm. Top marks for the coffee though. Whatever soy milk you are using please keep using it!!!👍. Overall very happy with my visit today!
S. W.
Went to Bridgewater inn today had seniors menu was do nice excellent value staff all very friendly would recommend to everyone thankyou
G. W.
A great Hills pub. Arranged to have an 83rd birthday there today of 20+ group and nothing was any trouble. They looked after us really well and the food was excellent. Good serves at very reasonable prices. Need to go back again to soak up the sun in their beautiful beer garden.
A. W.
Great service & friendly staff ! Meal fantastic & helpful with punting !
B. P.
I had an experience at the Bridgy which will remain in my mind until the end of my days. The food was amazing, as I discovered after consuming the "beef cheek", outstanding. I had a delightful dinner with my wife of 25 years and it was a date I will not forget in a hurry.
L. D.
Love this pub food always hot and yummy. Staff are so friendly. Great to have a cold drink in the sun shine sitting by the creek outside. Or cold nights inside by a fire .
L. A.
How can a place be so beautiful! Step into this old style pub and witness its gorgeous backyard! You'll see when you get there. Trust me! Stayed for a coffee and a side of chips and veges, OMG! The portion sizes are huge! Well priced and yummy. Thanks!
D. A.
Visited at the end of our hike about Mt George on a beutiful Adelaide Hills spring day for lunch on the shady patio area. A lovely lunch out with mates. Good menu well presented .
r. p.
Great venue, excellent food and service. The view of the brook with kids playing in the water. Ducks wandering through the diner when a dog invades there space. Good pub😀
D. D.
Great atmosphere and great meals
K. K. R.
Outside is the best part, its beautiful and a great place to have a family function! Inside seemed quite dark, great for winter, not so much summer. The food was incredible too, the portions are huge, one burger filled two people up. They cater to kids really well too, its nice that there is a playground adjacent and a nice stream that allows the kids to be imaginative. There definitely needs to be more obvious parking, as it was hard to know where to park. Otherwise its was just beautiful. Note, during summer and sitting outside bring mosquito coils and coat yourself in bug spray!
j. b.
This hotel is sometimes hit and miss with their food but the last time we came I ordered the Fish and Chips which were nicely coated and cooked just right. My friend had Lambs Fry which was an enormous serve but he enjoyed it and thought the bacon was the best he had ever had. Will still come back on and off as it is a great pub with friendly staff
S. B.
The food was great! The staff were great! We sat out side in front of the river. Extremely relaxing atmosphere with live music. The only hassle was finding a park but other than that it was a very enjoyable lunch out with the family!
g.
So not a place overloaded with Chardy drinking yuppies. Great atmosphere with secluded outdoor dining next to the gently flowing river. Surrounded by towering gums with plenty of places for the kids to explore. Great food at reasonable prices served by efficient friendly staff.
A. G.
Awesome food and the outside dining area is absolutely beautiful. Have been a few times and always been good. Even on a busy Sunday arvo we got our drinks and food quickly. Highly recommend booking in advance though as it's very busy on weekends.
S. W.
Visited with friends before Christmas. It was very busy yet we had a nice corner where we could hear each other and have a happy baby. The food was great, on the pricey side, but worth it.
N. C.
Fantastic pub, especially on a dry day out by the creek. Great vegan options.
D. G.
I have been living in the hills for a while now and was keen to check the Bridgewater Inn and I'm so glad we did.
The simple things like a good feed in a nice venue capped off by fantastic staff make this one of the places to go in the Adelaide Hills.
A. L.
I keep on coming back here. I love the way the experiences shifts from one season to the next but always great. The outdoor section is amazing and inside is very comfortable. Food is always good and fair value for money as well.
R. L.
Friendly customer service, lovely meals (GF wedges are the best!) & the most beautiful beer garden built along the river.
K. L.
Beautiful and peaceful with delicious food 🙂
R. R.

This is an outstanding venue. We had a group booking of 14 and everything was perfect. Tremendous service with smiling and efficient staff. Great warm and welcoming atmosphere highlighted by the open fire. Great variety of food and drink. Well stocked wine list. A sensational experience all round.Highly recommended. 😊
M. C.
We had dinner for 10 last night for my besties birthday. I had never been and it was lovely. Too cool to be outside but we will be back for wines in the lovely beer garden!
Cosy, unpretentious, unmodernised but in a good way. Great service. The charming waitress took photos of us all. She took our food orders at the table but in the manner of oubs we had to go to the bar to order drinks. Annoying but not a deal breaker.
The food was great. We had roast of the day, lots of chicken schnittys, lambs fry with bacon (perfect) and a Duck salad. Everything was excellent.
C.
Keep going back for lunch and dinner to the best and most unpretentious pub in the Adelaide Hills. It's my local and the setting winter and summer, food, service and prices are really good - beer garden near the creek with the pups in the summer or inside near the fire in the cooler months. Typical well priced pub fare which makes a wonderful change from pubs trying to be 4* restaurants. The bottle shop while small, is fairly priced. Love it.
B. S.
Firstly this place is a really great location, beautiful outside dining area and for parents if your looking for a pub that you can have a peaceful meal and drink then i highly recommend, the kids have endless nature play to keep them amused. It was however a long wait time and when our med rare steaks arrived they were well done but overall a good experience.
W. S.
No complaints with food or service. Son enjoyed Bridgy burger, daughter loved Massaman Chicken curry. I had Beef cheeks for first time. Yummmm!!!
A. W.
Great place, loved the live music. Food was really good and served quickly. I'll definitely be back.
J. W.
Great food , great service, beautiful scenery and the added bonus of a good playground right across the creek for the kids 👍👍👍
h. a.
This pub has a wonderful location by the stream. The alfresco area is large and open. The service on a sunny, busy Sunday afternoon couldn't be faulted. The serves were generous and delicious. Definitely worth a visit. We didn't book, bit got there early and had one of the last 2 tables so I'd recommend booking ahead.
v. p.
Wonderful food except bit of delay on taking order and delay on drinks... and also 10% surcharge for not being a public holiday...
M. C.
Beautiful place .peaceful lots to do ,right next to a creek where you can go for a walk, nice friendly staff, food looked great .worth the drive from the city.
A. W.
Great food and service at an awesome price. Fed 4 adults with drinks and food for under $200. Big meals too. There was a great band and the place is child friendly. Inside, verandah and outdoor seating and eating. Bookings essential.
T. A.
Great service, excellent food. Not surprised the beer garden was voted the best, definately deserved. Very good value for monet. Highest recommendations. Well done guys!!
L. C.
Great food, large meals. Beautiful location and friendly staff.

Hasn't changed since the 80's but looks revamped...smart move. Relaxed, prettyreal pub feel with no pretence & a huuuge beer garden on the creek. Fast service, big meals.
S. W.
A beautiful old pub with 2 floors, and several different areas to dine and drink. The food was excellent, great serves and best of all you can dine right next to the creek!
M. M.
We ate dinner here last night. We ordered a Bridgey Burger each. Omg it was amazing. It was fresh and tasted so good. We made some changes to the burgers... No chutney or no cheese. With 3 of us making changes to the burgers it was not a problem for our waitress. We also ordered garlic bread which was to die for. Could not fault either. We ate down stairs which was nice and warm and the service was quick and super friendly. Warm clean pub, with plenty of free parking and a bottle shop on the side. Beautifully positioned in Bridgewater. So happy with our meals and service. Highly recommend the Bridgewater Hotel.
F. T. (. T. G.
The best traditional Aussie pub in the hills. History, character, open and spacious, live music, and fantastic dining down stairs and awesome staff. And a beautiful creek side beer garden that is amazing in summer. A good old fashioned Aussie pub. Unlike the Crafers Hotel and the Stirling Hotel which may look nice at first glance - feel sterile, pretentious, money hungry and unwelcoming to the traditional Aussie battler whom the pubs where originally made for.
G. P.
Good atmosphere, lovely view by the front, nice service. This is our number one place to go as a retreat from the city with family. Dog friendly and the women's pioneer walking trail is along the front.
M. D.
Went for xmas dinner. Food was good but minimal .good price.
Wait staff very good. Tables a bit cramped and uncomfortable as you couldnt put your legs under.
That was with the long tables down stairs.Chairs Comfy.Atmosphere was comfy but huge spaces made it feel empty.
Bridgewater is beautiful.
M. D.
Stopped for a quick drink.
The staff were so lovely and the guy in the bar was funny as. Has a beautiful outdoor area, so peaceful and quite. Would definitely recommend. Menu looked amazing.

Food is delicious and the scenery is brilliant. Sitting next to the creek eating a Buddha bowl is perfect.
D. R.
Posting cause of a bad experience today don’t want this to reflect badly on the chef who has put out Great food every time we’ve been.
I’d rate the chefs food 5/5 but the wait staff 0/5 The wait staff are atrocious.
Rocked up 2pm and first question we asked is the kitchen open. We ordered straightaway and went 40 mins without our drinks bought out. When I approached bar and asked if he’d forgotten, he said sorry I’ll put your order through now.
5 mins later he drops the drinks on our table and tells us the kitchen is closed but we can have wedges or chips!????
Manager pulled the chef back off his break and he came in and cook the four dishes. Chef = legend, wait staff = terrible.
If it wasn’t for the chef coming back off his break it would’ve been one star review.
Bought the chef a beer when we left
w. c.
good food, good views and good service I recommend it to everyone
D. J.
Awesome food fantastic location in the beer garden over looking the creek. Very friendly and accommodating staff.👍👍👍👍

A wonderful place to go to and great food and service.
A. B.
Best pub in the hills by far. We have tried the rest and these guys are the best. It's our go to pub. Great staff, great food, great prices, what's not to love about this pub. Never once had a bad meal here and we have eaten here 20-30 times
R. F.
Great spot, awesome food and service
D. R.
Great food nice country pub atmosphere. Outside eating areas down stairs dog friendly, even have dog treats at the outdoor bar. Usually grab a surf n turf.
J. P.
Went there for lunch.A bus load of people had just arrived before us. They looked after us very well even though it was very busy. The food was well presented and a generous serve. We ordered from the seniors menu as we qualify but it did not affect they way they looked after us.
S. M.
Excellent hearty pub food. That's how I would sum up my experience at the Bridgewater Inn. My girlfriend and I went on a cold winter night and ordered a Schnitzel each. Warmed ourselves with their roaring fire and dined on hearty food. It's not the most fancy food nor the cheapest but it leaves you feeling warm and satisfied.
Would definitely visit again and recommend to others.
S. H.
Amazing place to hike to from Woodhouse for lunch. The view over the river is beautiful, and the rocks are great for children to play on. The burgers are great and my sorbet was delicious.
B. R. G. T. M.
Absolutely love this place! The warmth from the people that work here, eat here, and the open fireplace, it's magical. Very reasonable prices and fantastic, mouth watering food, it's our family favorite. Highly recommend!
J. P.
Great food, great service. Relaxing by the stream outside in the sun under the vine is very enjoyable.
P. D.
Such a fantastic location to sit and enjoy a drink. If you have kids, they will love the natural stream with ducklings included. Predictable pub classics come in generous portions.
S. H.
The Bridgey is a lovely pub with great food, friendly service and a cosy atmosphere. The live music on Sundays in the beer garden is always great, but definitely book ahead as it does get busy on the weekends!
W. O.
Our families favourite place to meet. Great food, loafs of nice plaves to choose to bevseated. very charming place.
J. K.
Great except no disability toilet
J. S.
Great for an afternoon by the creek. Kid friendly. Staff are great too 👍 would love some more veggie/vegan options on the menu, but otherwise a great local 🙂
l. l.
The bistro was closed due to a leak so we were in the front bar. Which is what we booked In the first place. Due to it being extra busy we were put in an area that looks like it's not used often. Was ok but down side we were right next to pokies with young children and it was a little noisy. And no fire. Food was good.
W. O.

Nice place. Delicious food. Great service.
Can get busy though.
B. H.
Beautiful old hills pub.
S. M.
The scenery around the Inn is beautiful. Our table of 5 ordered seafood trio, ribeye steak, the pulled pork burger and kangaroo fillet. All plates were generous and beautifully presented. The ribeye was like butter to cut through. The vegetables accompanying the kangaroo were delicious, the kangaroo was unevenly cooked not sure if it was purposely done but raw one end was not expected.
E. T.
Good food, nice atmosphere. Only issue might be the strong smell of the wood fire in winter. But you can move to areas which weren't so strong in smell (in case of asthma).
W. T.
Great food, great setting. Perfect for our casual lunch.
C. S.
Hearty Gluten free Vegan options! I had the vegetable stack as an entree and the field mushroom as a main and both were delicious! Friendly staff and timely service!

N. C.
Lovely location for a meal in the Adelaide Hills. Live music on Sunday afternoon.
D. C.
Traditional pub atmosphere, not too pretentious, not too dingy. Servings are big and the beer is cold. Standard prices for the hills.

G. C.
Very nice place in nature!
J. W.
Great meal, well priced & beautiful setting
R. M.
Hasn't changed in 40 years. Lovely & exactly how I like it. Not a penny spent in renovations in several decades. Staff are excellent. The premises is an awful pastiche mix of 70's additions going back to 1845. Which I like!!! 1,000% cleaner than the Aldgate Hotel by a country mile and the current owners are to be admired for thinking a coat of paint will turn this old dump around. It will not.
The bar is unchanged from circa 1950, carpets are super soakers for beer and vomit and yes the old 8 ball tables are still here!!!!!!!!! And they are still the same worn out 8 ball tables from half a century ago. The place still reeks of old tobacco smoke from post 1987 smoking ban which I LOVE! It's actually embedded in the plaster and stone of the Bridgey as far as I could smell.
The Stirling and the Crafers and recently the Uraidla renovations and total gutting of once proud turn of the century waterholes can be totally ignored as mere blatant attractions of the "Jamie Oliver" jet set complete with their rubbish Euro cars and attitudes.
The Bridgey is still a place where men are men and women are women! They have even had the foresight to provide a free bus to locals in a lovely gesture to both retain the itinerant local drunks business and to prevent road accidents and revenue raising by Sapol. 5 stars!!!!!!!!!
If you want to go back to 1970-80? The Bridgewater Inn is for you! Highly recommended.
B. S.
The Bridgwater Inn is my home town pub , I used to drink there every night after work. Great little country pub with a beautiful beer garden looking over the creek.
