Have come here for a long time now, the venue itself is beautiful, definitely recommend sitting outside. The food is always good and all the staff are so lovely and look like they genuinely enjoy their job which makes the whole experience even better. If you haven’t been here before, I’d recommend it, but book because everyone who does come here keeps coming back and it gets quite busy.

I like the Ed’. The huge beer garden is a big plus and the staff are typically friendly and helpful. The food is a little hit and miss - the steaks can be a bit overdone and the crayfish pasta we had last time was overly generous and the Asian prawn salad was uninspiring. Having said the the schnitzels were up to their usual high standard.

Lovely place but the service was very sparatic, our entree came with the mains, had to get our own menus and water....my friends had a beef snit and a chicken snit, was huge and they enjoyed, i ordered a dozen scallops supposedly with a mango salsa. Always good here. Food was pretty good too. My rib eye steak was cooked well, the lobster linguine very good and peri peri chicken burger looked pretty good too. Bar staff in dining area very friendly, but a touch unorganized, although they were busy. The young blokes serving in the main bar though, were quite surly, and need to work on their service technique a bit. Overall, we'll come back, as usual, even though it's a bit if a drive for us.

Lunch dates done well! This was from last weekend, lunching with Dad. Their food is of great standard but didn't give the visit 5 stars as their bread didn't seem fresh, although the rest was quite tasty. If visiting The Ed I would definitely recommend the salads they have on offer for a plate of fresh and tasty food that doesn't leave your mouth dry. Always nice to see a place like this still thriving to this day, always seems to be the place to go when out and about with my fam! Keep the cold beers on tap running please 🍻

I enjoyed lunch yesterday with friends and was pleasantly surprised at the modern food on the menu. Lots of dairy free, gluten-free, vegan options and knowledgeable staff checked and got back to us on specific dietary requirements they were unsure of. I enjoyed the Atlantic salmon (pictured) and it was a quality dish of beautiful flavours. Unfortunately some of the deserts on the menu (that sounded so good!) were popular & they had sold out.

I had the best time yesterday afternoon we arrived about 12pm. Not only is the venue beautiful it has a lovely relaxed, calming vibe. We sat outside in there gorgeous out door dinning area. They have a wide variety of Gins to select from and the two gentlemen who served my friend and I were very knowledgeable about the different varieties and what garnishes best accompanies each Gin. Based on the recommendation of one of the gentlemen who served me yesterday afternoon I had a Williams Pink Grapefruit Gin and Tonic with dried Chilli and Dried Pear. It was FANTASTIC! I absolutely loved it. I also ordered their Paprika Roasted Chicken, Chirizo, Chipotle, White Bean, Onion, Tomatoes and Patatas Bravas food dish and it was absolutely delicious. We had a great time and I highly recommend you enjoy an evening or afternoon here and give the mentioned Gin a try

Busy local pub with a large beer garden with an extensive wine list. Food is great with various choices. Good crowd and dog friendly in the beer garden. A venue that is suitable for large groups, birthdays and celebrations in general. Wheelchair access is easy to use. Highly recommend.

Best chicken parmi I have ever had! 😊 We had a family get-together and the guy who looked after us did a great job, keeping up with drinks etc. Excellent service. Also really lovely outlook onto trees - so relaxing and pleasant. Got noisy with music at 3 pm, but we were leaving then anyway.

What a great pub the Ed is. Front bar, back bar, beer garden and restaurant they are all good. The only slight criticism was the food. I ordered a beef schnitzel and received a chicken one and the chips were anaemic and cold. Otherwise great night playing cards and drinking beers in the front bar.

Food good but service a bit off. We pointed out a poorly cleaned water glass and male staffer took a bit of convincing for him to change it. I ordered drinks for our table at the bar including beer, bottle of wine, 4 glasses and table water with glasses and asked if it would be brought out to the garden area. Initially was told no but when I asked how was I to manage it she conceded and assisted. They were not busy do not really good customer service.

Had lunch here recently and sat outside as it was a nice sunny day. Ordered the Caesar Salad and I have to say it was one of the best I have had the ratio of all the ingredients were done well and a perfect soft poached egg on top (fantastic). My friend had the porterhouse schnitzel which looked great and which he thoroughly enjoyed. This is a great pub.

The cider was cold and when its 45 degrees out we went for the beer garden and stayed for dinner, I enjoyed my lamb rojan josh and the chicken caesar was apparently sensational. The staff and security crew are doing a great job within COVID-19 restrictions. I love the less crowded environment for small crowds but not so much for bigger dinner crowds. The staff running about head counting was very obvious and making staff very accommodating a tad stressed and kitchen service fast. MAKE A BOOKING FOR A GUARANTEED TABLE.

Everything is great about this place unless you are vegan. Then they just take a regular meal, remove a few ingredients and charge the same for a half serve. Make sure you aren't hungry when you go.

Sadly was a little disappointed with the mains here, slightly under par for what I was expecting from a really experienced and highly raved restaurant. Garlic bread I ordered was amazing, but the burger I had was almost inedible. I felt like every bite was nothing but a spoonful of pepper with some beef. Also not much flavour from relishes or sauces coming through which only intensified the pepper taste. Even someone who likes pepper couldn't find this edible, it's too excessive. The menu is filled with very complex meals, nothing too simplistic which makes decision making difficult. However on the plus side, the service there is wonderful and is well worth the visit. Plus the atmosphere is absolutely breathtaking. Disappointing that the mains couldn't meet up to the wonderful atmosphere.

Was surprised at the size of the place. An awesome entrance, and lovely setting inside. Only a couple of things, food could've been a bit hotter, but they were very busy, and maybe one or two 'scottish' themed foods to give a little more authenticity. We recently had our wedding at The Ed and all I can say is AMAZING! Everything was absolutely perfect. Kerry was so supportive from the first time we met with her right up to the day. Nothing was too hard and she and the team made everything work amazingly! The food was beautiful and all of it is incredible value for money. The service is second to none and every detail was thought of so we didn't have to worry about a thing on the day! Would definitely recommend to anyone thinking of having a function; wedding or otherwise!

I love this pub and have had some wonderful Sunday arvo sessions. Unfortunately last weeks visit was for lunch was very underwhelming. The soup was quite nice but the cold cheese on roll that accompanied it was not. The kids meal was shameful. Cold and hard with a small limp salad. I really hope they were just having a bad day.

BUT - We went on Sunday 3/feb a warm day, the amount of little kiddies running amok everywhere was very annoying - if not dangerous for patrons & staff, this is not Wiggly Worms or Maccas. Secondly management were obviously not on premises as most of the staff acted as if they were doing patrons a favour just by being there on a Sunday with very high wages. They were very disorganised & very inattentive & dismissive of our requests. It will be a while till we give it another visit.

One of the best pubs in Adelaide. Great food, drink selection and an awesome beer garden. The sports bar has that old timer feel that you want with the old school mirrors and rustic charm of the old 1800s pub with some of the best value pub food. Also, the wine cellar has to be the best in Adelaide. The staff in the wine cellar are real wine buffs and are super helpful and friendly.
