Consistently good pub food and drinks. Over the years we’ve had many work and Christmas lunches here and still going. We frequent here especially for the current lunch specials, cannot best the $10 Chicken Schnitzels and the $10 Curry. Generous serving size, you’ll be leaving happy.

Food was impressive! I walked in with low expectations as the dining room was nearly empty save for 2 other tables on a Friday night at 7pm. My friend had risotto with scallops and lime which tasted fantastic and had a generous serving. My rib eye was cooked perfectly, only negative I can offer is that the sauce was poured onto the steak rather than on the side. Wines were very well priced as well. Would return with others for another meal.

We had our sons 21st Birthday party here last weekend and everyone was amazing. Given the current environment that we are in, thanks to COVID times, everyone that we have had to deal with have been so helpful under the difficult circumstances we are in. Once we booked the day Ange and Drew were so great to deal with and helping guide us with food and drinks. On the night the staff were so happy and nothing was too hard for them. Recently had my 21st in one of the upstairs function spaces. Not only was the venue perfect for my event with the combination of indoor and balcony space, but the staff were so easy to work with. If you're looking for a place to hold an event don't bother going anywhere else. Would rate it 6/5 stars if I could!!!

I visit The Griffins Hotel once a month with a discussion group. The staff are great and are accommodating to our group’s needs, food is great and served in a timely manner. A very pleasant experience.

Came here on a Friday night and it was absolutely packed with city workers coming in for a drink after work. Trying to get a drink was a bit of a mission as people were just standing in front of the bar chatting away clogging up the bar. We sat down for dinner in the restaurant which was also packed out with quite a line up of people ordering food, problem was no one really knew where the line was and with a line of about 15 people and only 1 person taking orders and working the bar for the restaurant it was chaos. I had the lamb rump at $32 it was abit ho-hum. It was full of fat and not really what you would call tender, it was everything you wouldn't expect for $32. My partner had the barramundi salad which was quite tasty but at $26 very expensive for half a bowl of lettuce but i suppose thats what you need to expect when you order a salad from anywhere, they 2/3rds fill the bowl with lettuce, that's how they make their money

Very accommodating of dietary needs- prior to going I had a look and the one or 2 options I had were okay but I thought I'd ask before the night anyway about possibly customising another meal. They were more than happy to accomodate and it was a great feeling to go into a place to eat knowing id be fine and not have to stress about a couple of change requests. The drinks were good, the food was great, the servings decent and the staff friendly. Their dining layout was great- nothing I hate more than being cramped at a table or cramped near strangers tables but The Griffins had a lovely layout that catered for people to be able to move their arms a bit comfortably.

Pleasant conveniently located pub. Good range of wines by the glass and this changes from time to time, also good range of beers on tap. I’ve had the finger food (dim sims, chicken wings, calamari) at a function here (2 good function rooms upstairs) and it was tasty & well prepared. Also eaten in the Resturant which was reasonably priced and better than average in quality.

I don't know how I feel about the new look of this pub. Previously it was a classic pub with great views of Hindmarsh Square. Now it has a modern look and I suppose that's okay if it means its more functional. At least the seating outside is the same which lets large groups eat and drink enjoy the view. The beer is good, I even found a great local Mypongan beer, and the staff are great.

It's a pretty decent pub/bar/bistro on the infamous Hindmarsh Square. I ordered the Griffins share platter which managed to feed four of us perfectly and for mains I ordered the salt and pepper squid which was cooked very nicely served with decent chips and light salad.

Went last night for dinner with a group of 15. The food was great, but I was most impressed by the waiter who attended to us. Friendly, professional, fun and very accommodating (and even reassuring of our 2 yr old who I thought could have been disturbing other patrons). This waiter offered great food suggestions, was efficient and exceeded all our expectations. If I ever owned a restaurant/pub, I would poach him from the griffins in a heart beat ..... the kind of customer service that is becoming harder to find, and will certainly see our family and friends returning to the Griffins. P.S. - to the chef - loved the level of chilli in the peanut brittle/ poached pear and apple dessert! Very yummy and looked amazing. 18/09/14

We had our engagement party in the Balcony room and it was amazing! We, including our guests, all said it was a great night. There was a lot of food and the drinks were very reasonably priced. Do not order Atlamtic Salmon, when mine arrived, I can smell the fish when the plate is 1 meter away, not an apetiting smell, the fish was probably microwaved, the skin is wet and silverish as if not cooked. I returned it for steak instead. steak is reasonably good.

My daughter had her 21st Birthday in the Balcony Room, in Feb 2013. I would highly recommend this place to anyone organising a function. All the staff are very organised and professional. The food was fantastic and the bar staff only to happy to help. I only wish there were more places in Adelaide like the Griffins Head. Keep up the good work guys!
