Really spacious pub, great for gatherings and hosting big parties. Entree was kinda soggy.. Taste was alright. Schnitzel was not bad, mushroom sauce was yummy, but would prefer the sauce on the side so that my schnitzel doesn't get too soggy. But the plating looks sad somehow. Beef steak was good, but could use more seasoning. Bit chewy. Meringue was good, a tad sweet. The brownie was the highlight. A little bit fudgey.

The best pub in Adelaide for a schnitzel or wood fired pizza. What stands out though is they have a varied changing menu that also caters for dietary requirements (dairy and gluten free) with a good selection of vegan items on the menu!

All but one staff member was frazzled and grumpy and service was very slow. Would like to return on a night that isn't the Melbourne cup aftermath and see if it is different. Food was really nice but not fabulous and I found a piece of plastic in my dinner. They were very apologetic and responsive to it though so wouldn't hold that against them. Overall quite noisy but a pleasant experience.

Great reasonable meals and drinks. So accommodating. Car parking can be an issue but then again it’s the city! Had casual meals, birthdays and events here and never been disappointed. Highly recommended

My friends and I had a great feed. Our steaks were cooked perfectly and my partner loved their margarita pizza. A bit on the pricy side but that’s what comes with great food. A bit of a wait for our dinner but again definitely worth it. I can definitely say we’ll be returning for some more delicious grub.

End of year informal gathering for a not for profit, the Active Living Coalition. Were supported by Well-being SA, Heart Foundation, and Office of Recreation, Sport and Racing. I let staff know in advance 15-20 would be coming and we had a jolly good time. Good sized drinks and professional friendly staff. Plenty of seats as per covid times. We loved it.

It is a good pub with great meals and a lot of different beers on tap. The only reason I'm not giving it five stars is because there isn't really anything there that is special to indicate it's the "Original Coopers Alehouse". I guess I just expected to see something more historical than a pub with some history.

I recently attended for an end of year function. We pre-ordered our food for a set time. All the meals came out hot and on time. The food was fresh and plentiful. Great atmosphere here and great surroundings but what really stands out is the the staff. All friendly, all professional but also really personable. Can't wait to go back.

Quite disappointed. Ordered my rump steak medium /rare. An hour later I had to ask how far away it was. Then 8 minutes.later it arrives. Nothing red appearing. Is cooked through to medium to well done. Am so hungry that I ate it. Very disappointed with the chef not only for getting the cook right but losing the order. Service for beer and the staff at the bar were great. Dont think I will return here. I know it is Easter, but seriously, I didnt get what I ordered. Pri ably should be 2 stars but 3 for the chips and tomatoes on my plate.

Still one of the best snittys in Adelaide! Yes the price is up but it is 600g with an option for a smaller one. The beef was actually incredibly and the diane gravy was so good! My mates had a chicken parmy also with high praise! Maybe a slight inconsistency with size but you wouldn't know unless you weighed it..so I'm not taking stars off for that! Venue great,solid beer choice, only hard thing is parking as it is in the city but depends on the night and time. But seriously the beef snitty was the GOAT perfect crumbing and not dry at all nor greasy, just right! Chips also crunchy and seasoned well.. salad boring but you don't go for a 600g snitty for the salad haha it's a garnish at that size, Can't wait to go back!

Good old school pub with a nice classy, cosy feeling about it and the wood fired pizza oven is a great addition in the middle of the dining area. They are in the middle of renovations at the front bar at the moment so will be looking forward to the finished product. The food was excellent and of a good size serve. Had the nachos with chili con carne huge portion and tasty. Update 2020: there is a new nacho dish and it’s unfortunately not as good as the previous one. The cheese sauce is a bit heavy and the pulled pork is not as flavorful as the chilli con carne.

A great Melbourne cup event. A balcony affair with 3 courses and drink package. A real value deal. The meal really was outstanding, we know I am fussy, but the steak was fantasic and the lemon meringue pie was blissfully tangy with a short crust pastry. Service was friendly and attentive, you are really doing this right. Thank you all for making my Melbourne cup special and for the lovely basket of goodies I won.

Just had an excellent 600gm Porterhouse MSA Schnitzel with mushroom sauce and it was excellent. Perfectly crumbed with soft tender meat and some crunchy chips. Got a salad as well which was also delicious. The schnitzel was also quite hefty in volume which is a bonus, not flattened like other places. If you are a person who loves schnitzels, this is a place you must try!

Ordered the $20 Tuesday ribs, chips and salad offer at around 8 PM when they we’re really busy with Quiz night. Waiting time is usually 40 minutes here but that night it was longer. Staff were very average but the food was amazing, best ribs and sauce I’ve had in a while. Awesome atmosphere here with a lot of nightly activities

Wonderful experience in these trying times. Yes all masked up but we were able to have a marvellous meal and of coarse, tasting of the new Cooper's 🍻 Staff and surroundings excellent. Huge shout out for the Chef's and kitchen staff, the meals were amazing, from the tasting platter, loved the Pate and the oysters etc. Seafood chowder in a scooped out Cob Yummo. The steak was cooked to perfection and the individual cheese plates were delicious. It's a must go to place

IMPROVED!!! Don't know if they changed chefs or manager but they have definitely raised the bar since last year when I last visited! Better menu, better quality. A bunch of us went there a few weeks ago and tried a whole heap of their menu. It was all... SO GOOOOOD! Fresh fish, amazing pizzas, crunchy chips, great seafood...just to mention a few. Staff were so friendly too! Beer...always good. 👍 Can't wait to visit again. Keep it up!

The food was fantastic, everything was cooked to perfection. It was all table service making it easier as we had a group of 20+ and the service was great. The food came out probably about half an hour or so after we ordered it, nice and quick. We had to wait a little maybe not even 5 mins to order a drink sometimes as they were very busy with a few large groups but you can go up to the bar if really desperate but we didn’t bother as the servers were easy to flag down. Prices were exactly as we expected, highly recommend the yorkie porkys if you like Yorkshire puddings. Can’t wait to go back again!

Good beers and great atmosphere. We come here often for a regular industry event in the function room upstairs and sometimes stay for dinner. We crossed town to visit tonight, since we haven't eaten here in a while. Ended up leaving most of the AFC burger on the plate; dry, hard, unchewable, flavourless chicken in the burger and hardly any chips for $22. Partner's parmigiana sauce was good, but the chicken was similarly dried out and flavourless for $27. Neither of us left happy. Will be back for the next industry function, but not for the food, sadly. Used to be rock solid here :(

Something has changed here over the past few months. This place has a special place in my heart, but it is slipping. Food quality is good but not great like it used to be, the menu has changed and there is an emphasis on salt and overly rich flavours in meat dishes. The salt and pepper squid quality was once to judge other restaurants by, but now, is average to good.

Food is amazing table of 5 and everyone loved their meals. Not a single complaint with food. We had a booking got there lil early told will have to wait 20 as they just making the table up for us. Waited 20 mins.. asked again, table not even ready other people had only just left. Whole place was fairly dirty to be honest. It was a Saturday night but still only 8:30pm and both male and female toilets filthy. Waitress and waiter were lovely. Need to smile more they look miserable though. All in all we'd go back and maybe choose a weekday see if any cleaner.

Loved my vegetarian woodoven pizza. The paet if the dining room we were in is an internal space without windows - not my preference. Some vegan food on the menu. Very generous portions. Not bad at all.

If you love a schnitzel you have to take home in a pizza box because its so huge then this is the place for you. Good Pub fare, Quiz on Tue nights and air con that works. If it weren't for a few moody bar staff that make you feel like you are wasting their time, then this would easily be 5 stars.

Went here for the rugby grand final and it was rammed! Got there early and had a table outside. Food arrived quickly and the schnitzels were great, good quality and well presented. Later when we moved inside to watch the rugby it was basically too full to move. Managed to get to the bar and back easily enough and got served fast each time. If they managed such impressive service when they're that busy, I'd imagine they'll be able to do so any time!

I would stick with traditional pub meals here. They are trying to think outside the box which is good but still a way to go. The Lamb Two Ways had nicely cooked lamb but far too many smashed mint peas. They should either go with a pea puree or stick with tradit6peas and add some potato. The salt n pepper croc tail was dry and the potatoes slightly undercooked and under seasoned. Oysters Kilpatrick had, dare 8 say it, too much bacon. Great beers though

Was very impressed with this pub! We went on the trivia night which was very fun even though our team came last. Unfortunately the food Took 45 minutes to come out and by that time we were all eating the tables! However it was very delicious and good value! The best was the wife's Fred flintstone size rack of tender,slide off the bone beef ribs with tasty BBQ sauce ! The salmon tartare with dill,capers,creme fresh and some sort of fishcake thing was delicious! Pricing was good, all the aforementioned plus 3 frosty pints and a coke for just over 100 schekels ! The Original Coopers Alehouse is an institution in Adelaide and have been wanting to come here for a long time. The schnitzel was delicious and they also have a good selection of beers. The front bar looks awesome

Everytime I'm in Adelaide a dinner (or 4) is on my must do list. I first came to the pub in 2012 when I was a new grad vet doing a placement at Roseworthy. Since then have been back at least 5 times and the food is consistently good - can't go past the chicken schnitzel with mushroom sauce. Service is always quick and friendly. Tonight we had Angus serve us who was efficient and his wine recommendation of pennys hill cracking black was on point! Thanks Coopers Alehouse for never disappointing and nourishing me and making me feel welcome each time I'm in Adelaide.

Airport food is really pricey but it is really reasonable here. They have a breakfast menu...I had eggs Benedict on gluten free bread...delicious. my daughter had a huge steak sandwich...yummy. Previously my daughter and her family have had a good deal with schnitzel and pint...extremely happy

It doesn't matter if you like plain foods or diverse foods, pizza or pasta, hot or cold; the Coopers has something you will love. It is our regular work meeting place, but I have been there with family, for Buck's nights and just regular nights out and I can't remember a time when it has disappointed.

I was a little disappointed after a few people had assured me I "had to" get to this place. The food was fine, the beer selection sufficient (all Cooper beers, obviously), and the staff was friendly enough. Somehow it just seemed a little stand off -ish, though, and not very warm and inviting. It wasn't very busy when I was there, though, so maybe with more people it world seem more alive. It just felt a bit stark and cold. Overall a fine pub, and Adelaide has plenty of them!

The staff here are just fantastic, nothing is too much trouble and they anticipate when you will need another drink. To say that the food is delicious is the understatement of the year. My porterhouse was cooked to perfection and the red wine jus was the perfect accompaniment. The fried baby camenbert was also perfection and the vegetarian gnocchi tasty and a generous serving. This all added up to the perfect evening. The pub was very busy for a Wednesday night which came as no surprise after the evening that we enjoyed. Ten out of ten!

Another fantastic meal en-route to the Fringe! We stopped in here in a Sunday and shared a lovely 12" cheesy garlic pizza bread and one of their classic monster 600g chicken Hawaiian parmys (which on a Sunday until 5pm are $15+toppings!) The bar staff are friendly, the food came out quickly, everything was hot and fresh. The chicken schnitzel was juicy and flavourful and the beer was nice and refreshing. The recent rennovations make the whole place a really pleasant environment. Only downside is the depressing pokies room which you walk through to get to the toilets....

For the amount of money you pay to get a "vegan pie" you get not an actual pie encrusted with lovely pastry and a good sauce - no what you surprisingly get is sweet potatoe/spinach/tofu/zuchini and some fried potatoe shavings stacked together with nothing else (no sauce nothing) - I would not recommend this for a meal - if you took the tofu off it could just have been a very expensive side of vegies. Saving this meal was the fact that the waiting staff saw my disappointed face and handed me a small side of fries - very good of them as they didn't need to do this. So excellent service, but just a very very expensive place to have a bowl of vegies with a beer $32!

Went here with a few mates for a general get together. Got there at 7.30 and ordered a Chicken Parmy as did all my mates. Was a bit pricey considering I would call this place a fancy pub, but then again, this place is in the city. It took over an hour for the Parmys to rock up at our table and it certainly wasn't busy in the restaraunt. They had gotten my order wrong and given me a Beef Parmy instead of a Chicken. I certainly wasn't going to complain but the waitress quite literally pulled the plate out of my hand and whisked it off to the kitchen without an apology of any kind. 10 minutes later my Chicken Parmy rocked up and all was good. The food itself was very good, one of the best parmys I've ever had however a bit of salad on the plate wouldn't go amiss. Overall would recommend this place to someone wanting to try a lot of different types of Coopers beers however their are much better and cheaper places to go.

The Original Coopers Alehouse is a wonder to be seen and immersed within. Built long, long ago back when Adelaide was still a tiny little penal outpost for the worst of England's convicts, the Original Coopers Alehouse provided respite to many a Governor and reformed convict after a hard day's work in the baking hot sun of Adelaide summer. Today of course it is a different story, air conditioning, big and beautiful paddle fans above the bar, an old fashioned spittoon and more beer, wine and spirits on tap to quench the thirst of an ultra marathon runner. My favourite is the barrel aged Coopers on the hand pump that the young girl coaxes out of the barrel into your glass on a wintery evening.
