Had a work function here today and there was no aircon on a 39°C day which was pretty uncomfortable, being in cramped space with 30+ people. The nibbles were decent - wedges, spring rolls, fried dumplings and dim sum, and sliders. Not bad but not amazing. Service at the bar was slow at times with lots of people lining up. The place could do with a bit of Christmas decoration too!

Great food selection (better than your regular pub grub). Drinks, too. Everything looks fresh and updated. Plus they support the local MFS charity, so what's not to like?

The Wakefield Tavern at 80 Wakefield St on the corner of Divett Place, Adelaide. It is a grand hotel built of bluestone slate (possibly Willunga) and exhibits the architecture of that time (1880's). It has a front bar with indoor and outdoor seating to choose. Meals are reasonably priced. Popular at lunch time.

This was the weirdest margherta pizza ive ever had? I can't say it was bad but it certainly wasn't good

We went here for dinner as we had the entertainment voucher. The menu isn't a big menu but it has the basics on it. But I'd love to see garlic bread on your menu. It's a simple offering that would of made us spend that little bit more on the night. The guy taking our order added an extra meal to our order when we questioned it he went and looked through the orders and did make a mistake on it. Handed the money back on the difference which was good. Cheap happy hour drink prices.

Disappointed with being served almost cold meals. The place looks very cosy and quaint but the meal does not make me want to return too soon. Having said that when asked by Staff at the end what we thought of our meals they were more than apologetic and offered free drink/Coffee with more apologies to follow. First impressions not good but may revisit much later if and when we go into the city again.

Excellent meals. We shared 3 entre'es and they were all good size serves. Can definitely vouch for Poutine, Lemon Pepper Squid and Chicken Tenders all off the winter menu. Nice decor and friendly staff. Worth a visit.

We had a work Christmas function here recently. The food was not rotated around or even announced what was actually on the plate. As not all of us eat everything even a small place card with the name would’ve helped us a lot. The staff looked very rushed and flustered.

I've had dinner at the Wakefield twice now, and both times it was excellent. The food is best described as high-class pub-grub. Schnitzels, fish and chips, steak sandwich, etc. ... but all done really well and attractively presented. My last meal was the steak sandwich, and yes there was a steak and two slices of bread, but otherwise bearing no great resemblance to the pub food of old. This was delicious, well cooked meat, nice crusty bread, salad, and great chips from kipfler potatoes. Service is polite, swift and competent. Decor is unobtrusive. And there are eleven kinds of meal-deals (membership, two-for-one deals, theatre deals, ...) A great place for a quick meal or relaxed dining.
